“what about this color?” my friend, Olivia asks me, stepping out of her closet and holding up a purple dress. i was currently sprawled on her bed at eleven thirty at night, helping her choose an outfit for date tomorrow night.

my original plan for tonight was to cuddle up with my boyfriend and eat copious amounts of cheesecake while discussing our summer plans, but then he informed me that a few guys from his team were coming over for a guys night. so instead of being the sole girl at guys night, i brought my cheesecake over to Olivia’s and she supplied wine for a girls night.

“it gives me Taylor Swift ‘Speak Now’ vibes.” i tell her. “i love it!”

“that’s what i was thinking too!” she exclaims. she lays it out on the foot of the bed and ventures back in her closet to find shoes, coming back out with a pair of white strappy heels. “thoughts?”

“if he’s not drooling as soon as he sees you, then there’s something seriously wrong with him.” i’m about to open my mouth to speak again but my phone cuts me off, ringing in my pocket. i pull it out and look at the screen, Jack’s contact photo displayed as he calls. i press accept and hold the phone to my ear.

“hey, we have a little bit of an issue.” he speaks before i can even get out a word out, his sentence coming out rushed.

“what kind of issue? and how little is ‘little’?” i ask, sitting up in the bed. Olivia throws me a concerned glance and i hold up one finger, letting her know to give me a minute.

“Luke is at the hospital.” it comes out as more of a question than a statement, Jack’s pitch getting higher at the end.

“what the hell do you mean he’s at the hospital? why? what happened?” i question, standing up from the bed and leaving the room, Olivia following me out.

“we were just messing around! we were wrestling, and the guys started betting on which one of us would win, and then we started getting competitive, and one thing led to another and we may have broken a vase and then Luke sliced his arm. he’s currently finishing up getting stitches.”

“oh my god, Jack! what the hell?” i exclaim. i make it to the front door, slipping my shoes back on and grabbing my purse.

“he’s fine! i swear! we’ll probably be leaving any minute now. just get home as soon as possible, okay?!" i nod, forgetting he can’t see me.

“yeah. alright, i’m leaving now.” i say. we say hurried goodbyes and i hang up before looking over at Olivia. “i gotta go. Luke is getting stitches.”

her eyes go wide and she nods.

“yeah! yeah, go!” she tells me, pushing me out the door. “i’ll talk to you tomorrow.”

“let me know how your date goes!” i call out as i rush out to my car. pulling the door open, i slip inside and shove the key in the ignition. i drive home as quick as possible without breaking any laws, because right now is probably the worst time to be pulled over. pulling into the parking garage, i park and make my way up to Luke and i’s apartment as fast as possible, making it back just a few moments before Luke and Jack walk in.

“baby!” Luke shouts when he sees me. despite his left forearm being wrapped in bandaging, he still seems highly intoxicated.

“hi, sweetheart.” i let him wrap his arms around my waist, leaning down to press a kiss on my lips. “how you feeling?”

“i’m fine!” he exclaims. “never been better! i missed you though.”

i glance over at Jack, who turns his eyes wide and shakes his head at me while mouthing “he’s so drunk”. i nod and turn my focus back to my clingy boyfriend.

“c’mon baby, let’s get you to bed.” i tell him. he pouts but throws a goodbye nod to his brother. “you go ahead and go to the room, i’ll be there in a sec.”

Luke pads down the hall and when i hear the bedroom door shut, i look over at Jack.

“thank you for calling me. i appreciate you letting me know.” i say, wrapping my arms around him in a hug.

“of course. he kept asking for you, ya know?” he chuckles as i pull away. “well, i’m gonna get going and let you deal with him now. i’ll see you tomorrow.”

i wave goodbye as he leaves out the front door, before locking it and making my way to Luke and i’s bedroom. i open the door to find Luke stripped down to his underwear, face down on his side of the bed, fast asleep. laughing to myself, i change into my pajamas, brush my teeth, and settle into bed beside him, turning off the bedside lamp. i wrap an arm around his waist and go to sleep.

“no. mom, i’m fine. it was just a couple stitches” i wake to the sound of Luke’s voice, opening my eyes to find him still laying next to me with his phone pressed to his ear. “yeah, we’ll see you guys next week. love you too, bye.”

“was that your mom?” my voice is laced with sleep and he looks over at me, smiling.

“yeah. i guess Jack told her i got hurt last night, so she called to make sure i was alright.” he tells me. rolling his eyes, he speaks again- “and then she was asking if we were still coming to the lake house since i’m ‘injured’.”

i laugh and hug his waist.

“how are you feeling?” i ask him.

“i’m fine. it’s sore, but i’ll live. my hangover is worse.” he says. “i can’t believe i had to get stitches. like, how drunk was i?”

“oh baby, you were plastered.”

“I can’t believe it.”

For Peter to date someone new was a thing. You broke up months ago and it wasn’t the hate you were giving each other that would put you back together. 

But for him to act with his new girlfriend exactly like he used to do with you, was something else. Something you weren’t going to accept that easily.

You guessed something wasn’t right the first time you saw him with her. She looked like you, the same type of girl with the same hair color and the same style. You thought Peter was looking for a copy of you to replace what he couldn’t have anymore. But then you decided you were overreacting to your ex-boyfriend dating someone new. It was the last punch your relationship needed to die.

You and Peter dated for a few months. You were terribly in love, maybe too passionate. That was the reason you broke up at the end. You couldn’t handle all this love, all this passion and rather than make it work, you made it fail. You started to fight over little things, not realizing these were small inconvenience in what could be the greatest love story of your life.

But then love became hate and you stopped talking. Except to hurl barbs at each other anytime you could.

But today, it was one day too many. You couldn’t bear to look at Peter with his arm around that girl shoulder. That girl that was wearing the same jacket Peter gave you when you were dating. “it was my uncle’s, I love to wear it. But it looks better on you.” He said the night he gave you because you forgot yours. You thought it meant something to him. It meant the world to you.

But of course, he was giving it to someone new now. As if your whole relationship never ever mattered.

“Parker!” you called him across the school. He turned around, just like your double did. You regret it when you noticed ever was looking at you now. But it was more than you could take. You walked to peter and grab his arm, the one that he was holding his girlfriend with. “Ouch.” He mumbled before putting his eyes on you. “What do you want?”

“Talk.” One word. The word you both needed back then.

“Don’t you think we should talk about all that mess?” Peter said, looking at you who were throwing all his stuff you were keeping at your place in a bag. It was over for good this time, you thought. And you didn’t want to keep anything from Peter.

“Talk, talk, talk. That would lead us nowhere!” you replied, putting the bag in his arms and waiting for him to leave.

Peter followed you in a quiet room, away from the other students and his “girlfriend”. While he was walking behind you, he had that smirk on his face. The one that meant his plan was working. Once you turned around, he put on his poker face again. “So, what do you want?”

“Are you really going to pretend like you’re not remaking our whole relationship with that stupid girl!” You were mad. Worse, you were jealous. It wasn’t fair that all the thing you did with Peter, he was doing them with her now.

Peter frowned, waiting for you to go on and explained yourself. You hated how you found him hot when he was crossing his arms on his chest, making his biceps bigger. That wasn’t fair either. 

“Don’t you think I noticed how she looks like me? And that I didn’t see her picture of you two sharing a fucking strawberry ice cream when you know it’s my favorite flavor! Or that she’s wearing Ben’s jacket when I thought it was special for you to give to me! It’s not special if you do it with everyone you fuck, Peter!” you were banging on his chest, trying to make yourself understood. 

You only managed to give Peter what he wanted all along.

“You still love me.” He simply said, taking your hands between his fingers to stop you from hitting him. It wasn’t like you could hurt him anyway. 

“What the hell? No!” you answered, trying to free yourself from his grip but Peter was way stronger than you were. And the thing he said, the love word, did something in your stomach that was preventing you from fighting anyway. 

“May always said that between love and hate, there’s only one step. One step to cross. We did it once. We can do it backward.” He had this low voice, and he was using when he wanted you to listen to every word he was saying. A tip that still work since you were carefully listening to him. “I can’t stop loving you, [y/n]. I realized that after I had tried to hate you for hurting me. I don’t think I ever hated you.” 

“So…you’re dating that girl to make me love you? You realize how stupid this is?” Peter laughed and took your face between his hands. “I’m not dating her. I just wanted you to realize that you cared more about me and our memories than you thought. That you were ready to fight for me again.” 

Since you stayed silent, Peter kissed your forehead before letting you go. “I’m giving you some time. But think about it. One step baby. One step.” He winked at you before leaving the room.

Leaving you alone with your feelings. And your will to fight for the man you hate love.

Reality shows. She knows they're fake, but she loves to laugh at people embarrassing themselves. She watches them with Kirby and they have debates over who is the worst person on the show.

She sketches. Jill has this large art notebook in her room where she sketches out major events in her life, good and bad. She also draws future events she wants to happen, such as images of her walking down a red carpet with paparazzi following her, and images of you and her together having a celebrity wedding where Rihanna attends.

Jill reads as a form of escapism. She likes YA novels because of how unrealistic they are. In those, the main character, usually a woman, gets what she wants and gets to be a hero. It's a sort of catharsis for her to escape into it.

Jill is extremely toxic online and definitely enjoys leaving negative comments on forums or youtube videos. She's absolutely a cyberbully, and if you complain about it, she says she'll stop, but ultimately gets back into the habit on and off throughout her life.

🌷 what they do to relax

Jill likes to smoke on the roof of her house at night. Usually on the side away from the street, so she doesn't get caught with weed by any potential patrolling officers. But when she's feeling bold, she'll sit on the side facing the street and call Olivia on her cell. They both see each other and talk quietly on the phone, finding it amusing as Olivia sits by her window and Jill sits on the roof.

Social cleansing. Jill gets angry easily, even if she's pretty good at hiding it from most people. So when life is getting really on her nerves, she'll deactivate her social media accounts for a few days or so and kinda isolate in her room.

🌻 if they have pets

Nah. I feel like if she did, she'd be the type to have harmed them as a kid. She knows its fucked up, so she never asked for pets ever since she played around cruelly with her pet goldfish in 3rd grade.

Jill wants to go blond so bad. She loves how it looks on Kirby, she's just worried it wouldn't look good on her bc she doesn't know she's Emma Roberts.

Jill loves plaid or striped clothing. Anything with a pattern she's down with, especially when she pairs it with black pants or jeans.

Jill has gone to therapy before, under the guise of depression and anxiety. But what she really wanted to do is talk to someone about her darker thoughts, and the way she seems to have trouble empathizing with people. She ended up not doing so anyway, because she got cold feet and felt like she couldn't open up.

Jill respects Billy Loomis, but she hates who he was as a person from what she knows of him. This is because of what happened with Trevor and that she hates fuckbois. She thinks the only cool thing about him is that he ended up making Sidney famous that's it.

Jill doesn't love her mom. She has trouble making genuine connections, and this extends to family. She may like her friends and hanging out with them, but even they don't mean much to her. It takes a very special person for her to genuinely care for them, BUT it can happen. And it does, when you come along.

Jill likes cartoons. I'm talking Tom and Jerry, Young Justice, Invader Zim, etc. She's embarrassed about this, and the only person who knows is Kirby, who is sworn to secrecy.

Who Is Lori Loughlin’s Influencer Daughter Olivia Jade? Betches

It’s been a pretty crazy week. We lost a whole day to the Instagram Blackout of 2019, and there’s been way too much Bachelor/Bachelorette news to keep up with. Despite all of this, the week’s biggest story has definitely been the college admissions scandal. Earlier this week, more than four dozen people were indicted for fraudulent practices, mostly involving falsifying test scores. At the center of the investigation is William Rick Singer, a businessman who facilitated all of the crimes that went down. Now, it’s officially the biggest college admissions scandal ever prosecuted in the US. When the story first broke, we were all focused on the celebrity angle, with beloved TV stars Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin both being indicted. After that, we turned our attention to how all of this actually went down.

It’s no big surprise that the college admissions system is corrupt, but seeing concrete examples of how rich people cheated the system still stings a little bit. When I wasn’t happy with my ACT score, my mom just bought me a practice book that I pretended to use like a normal teen. Also, I mean, I already assumed rich people were bribing their way into colleges, but I always thought it was slightly more subtle, like by sponsoring buildings, not buying a fake SAT score. I wish I’d known that was an option this entire time! Oh well.

At the center of this whole mess is Lori Loughlin’s daughter, Olivia Jade. You’ve probably seen her face and heard her name a lot in the last few days, but if you’re like me and you’re blissfully unaware of teen influencers, you probably don’t really know anything about her and have probably been asking yourself, “who is Olivia Jade?” but been too ashamed to Google it. I’m about to change that, so you’re welcome!!

First and foremost, Olivia Jade is a freshman at the University of Southern California. As we all know, she worked hard to earn her spot on the crew team, and she’s on track to be the team MVP this season. Just kidding! Her parents paid a quarter of a million dollars to have her falsely designated as a crew team recruit, allowing her to basically be automatically accepted to USC. She definitely hasn’t gone to a single practice, but to be fair, I wouldn’t want to wake up at 5am to go rowing either.

That’s a major yikes. I mean, I went to college for the game days and the parties too, but I also needed to get a degree so I could, like, get a job and make money for the rest of my life. So obviously Olivia Jade wasn’t there for the right reasons, but what did she actually mean when she talked about trying to “balance it all”? Her career as a YouTuber and influencer, of course!

Olivia Jade started her YouTube channel back in 2014, and she now has nearly two million subscribers. Her videos are mostly about beauty and fashion, and I won’t pretend that she’s not one of the most stunning 18-year-olds I’ve ever seen. Pretty sure I was a sweaty disaster at her age, but I’m not mad about it. Because of who her mom is, Olivia has always had a lot of opportunities, but last year she really upped her brand game with her very own Sephora collaboration. The first product in the collection was a highlight palette, because there definitely aren’t enough of those in the world.

Obviously Olivia Jade and her family are in some legal hot water right now, but that’s not the only problem. Yesterday, Sephora responded to concerned customers on Twitter, and announced that they’re ending their partnership with Olivia Jade immediately. Sucks for her, but at least she’ll have her college education to fall back on!

Olivia Jade still hasn’t made any kind of statement about the scandal on her social media accounts, but I can’t wait to see her string together a sentence about the legal system. In the mean time, Twitter has been absolutely on fire with memes about Olivia, and I fully can’t keep it together in the office right now:

As for Olivia’s USC education, the latest reports are that she and her older sister Bella won’t be going back to school after spring break because they would be “viciously bullied.” That’s probably true, but it’s also unclear whether they’ll even be allowed to go back. USC has said that they’ll be making decisions on a case-by-case basis, and no decisions have been made yet. I really hope Olivia Jade’s USC hearing gets live-streamed, because I’m dying to know what will happen next.
