This was Kermit’s first time actually competing in an agility trial-- at the previous one I only had him entered as FEO.
His Jumpers Starters run was amazing. I think he was a bit tired by then because he was slowing down a bit on the final stretch, but again I love the enthusiasm. He had a great time and was very popular with the audience.
I believe he was also the only 4-inch dog entered in the trial.
In 1953 there was a lady who could make three jumpers a year from her dog, a white Samoyed.
And by ‘make jumpers’ I mean she brushed her dog (who was called Bute by the way) every week, spun the fur on an ‘old-fashioned spinning wheel’, and when she had enough she dyed it and knit herself a jumper.
I adore this fact and this woman for looking at all the fur she was brushing out of her dog and going ‘I can make something with that’.
having wildly unmedicated adhd is honestly incredibly funny because you can really tell which of your friends regard you as less of a friend and more as some kind of pet or small child. i have one classmate who seems to think she needs to take me on walks in the middle of class sometimes and honestly its so funny to me that i go along with it
guys i'm still so pissed abt jatp being cancelled but it's trending on netflix now so everyone go watch it and send those ratings through the fucking roof!!!!
I went back on antidepressants in 2018 and it's been wild watching my passions return. It was a few years before I was really interested in reading again (I used to read more than 100 books a year and I've just now worked my way back up to about 40) and I've only just started to dip my toe back into fiction. But one of my earliest interests -- gardening -- may finally be back this year! Instead of being pissed off about the state of my beds (and my knees) I've started sourcing solutions (instead of a $100 wheeled metal garden cart with a seat I got a $10 plastic stepstool from the hardware store, Asian auntie-style) and moving plants! Every sunny day sees me out in the dirt again!
finished on earth we're briefly gorgeous. want to fucking throw up. i want a movie made out of this but just as abstract and non linear as the book with exactly as much detailed imagery and nothing left out. i want to cradle it in my arms and kiss it. i also bawled for an hour. read the author's discussions on the book reviews etc. im fucking losing my shit this reminded me of what poetry can do to a person. i had forgotten how words can make you feel. i have never seen a book about being born into survival like this and learning to build a life around it and ive never seen an asian person write it. people i am frothing at the fucking mouth.
Say what you will about Bungo Stray Dogs but the fact is that it has inspired a good number of an entire generation to pick up 1800s to 1900s great literature from Japan, North America, and Europe and i think that's very cool of it really
