Long Emily design explanation/rant thing ignore it probably but pls dotn im desperate: I wanted to make her more round and soft cuzzz I love those typa designs I'm just a sucker for circle characters. Made her actually black and not fuckin gray cuz its a transformation to look more human and gentle(for me they go between two forms, their true ones that we see the first time we see them snd their human/softer ones if they ever interact with actual humans which... they usually dont.) Not a demon form tfff. In this version I wanted to put Emily in animal inspired features like... the sheep nose, ears, and hooves. Because she and Sera know that humans and about all beings love animals. Birds have sharp features mostly so they don't look as welcoming as they want to seem. I wanted Emily to look sheep likes and pretty much all the seraphim look more sheep like to make Lucifer stand out as the only one who was symbolized as a snake/goat(still don't know if I'll make him goat or make Lillith goat. I'll decide when I get there lmao). Justtt overalll wanted Emily to look more round, welcoming, and cute. I kept the freckles lighter than her skin color(even tho that's SUPER not accurate to what actually black people look like with freckles but whatevr) because it reminded me of fawns and.... sure Emily is a sheep but I still wanted to incorporate other cute animal traits with her cyz y not.

Out of curiosity do you think the Gum Gum no Mi actually being the Hito Hito no Model: Nika was properly foreshadow in the early days of OP or did it felt like an ass pull for Oda?

Some people have mention when Luffy liberates a country/free the people in can be in correlation of Nika, but that quickly debunk as we never heard of Nika before in the pervious chapter up until Wano

Given that the manga was only supposed to run for 5 years (lol) I don't think that Oda originally planned for the Nika reveal. I think he at least had the idea of it in mind by Skypiea. There's just so much groundwork laid in that arc (and by extension the Enel cover story) for there not to be *something* rattling around Oda's head by then.

Regardless, the sun has always been very strongly associated with Luffy. He literally comes from Dawn Island. It's in the first chapter title, and Luffys first big liberation during Arlong Park has him saving the day with the sun shining over his shoulder. It's funny how much it pops up even in pre Wano fan art and fanfic.

All this to say, while Nika might not have been mentioned by name, I don't think it's an ass pull

what pisses me off the most about the jekyll and hyde musical is that robert louis stevenson explicitly said to NOT make the inner conflict about sex but meanwhile frank wildhorn was like "lol bozo" and made it about jekyll/hyde choosing between a virgin and a whore like HUH.

While you're analysing the Thriller Bark arc I must confess I love Moria and the hypocrite that he is.

As we know Moria got defeated so badly by Kaido that he lost his crew and chin that he decided to have a crew of just zombies so he never has to feel the pain of loss every again

But then he raises a young child for at least ten years to the point he has a spoiled daughter that is loyal to him to the point that despite at least two years of separation still tries to save him.

And then we have Moria himself being a hypocrite as he ventures into a Pirate Emperor territory just to save a crew mate. And then when he learns that Absalom is dead tries to avenge him by fighting a pirates emperor crew. So much for keeping people at arms length Moria

there are a lot of enemy groups in one piece that don't get along with one another, but the Thriller Bark crew isn't one of them--hell, later in the arc Absalom invites Hogback to his wedding. For as much as he's a lazy asshole I think part of that falls back on Moriah's leadership.

I bet he had a really fun crew to be on before Kaido rocked his shit.
