Ok I thought I was gonna be making one nitpicky rant about TLoU show deaths but

I guess I’m actually making two. Because I saw another death and while I find there was nothing broadly wrong with it, there was some cinematic choices that drove me bonkers that I just wanna stress over.

So the rest will be under the cut, but for starters, this is about Sarah and Tess

Ok so Sarah isn’t really the meat of this rant, but I do want to talk about her death scene in the show because several things about it had bugged me. And please, I’m not really here to talk about the race swap. Overall I think it’s a little sus, moreso because the actress is the daughter of one of the executives of the show; so it suspiciously indicates nepotism. But the actress herself actually managed to do a pretty great job for Sarah’s death so really I couldn’t give a shit. ANYWAYS, the show’s death. What bugged me about it was the fact that there were CUTS while Joel is trying to comfort her and struggling to pick her up. The beauty of the cinematic choice in the game, where it turns into one continuous shot the moment Joel crawls over to Sarah, is that it inherently puts us in that moment with Joel, and by panning the camera over instead of cutting each time, it really shows how Sarah is right at death’s door, like you can HEAR the exact moment that she cries her last little whimper and just... goes quiet, right when the camera pans towards Tommy’s face. The problem with having scene cuts is that it drags the scene out in such an awkward way. Plus, Sarah’s still actively crying while Joel is screaming for Tommy to help him, and then the moment it cuts to Tommy the audio just cuts out very clumsily. As it cuts back to Joel Sarah’s just already dead, and additionally it makes no sense for Tommy to call to Joel to have him realize Sarah’s dead when she was still screaming and crying right as the camera cut. And then additionally, I’m not fond of the addition of Tommy saying Joel’s name, it feels almost... cold and detached. Like the tone of that line is “Joel she’s dead, it’s too late”. Whereas in the game, he’s moving towards Joel and Sarah and he’s in so much shock because he’s watching his niece dying in a crying, bloody mess.

So long story short, nothing wrong with the scene itself (though I gotta say I don’t think I’m a fan of Pedro Pascal’s line deliveries while he’s trying to stop Sarah’s bleeding. That’s less of a “one’s better than the other” and more of “that’s just my opinion that the emotion of the line delivery in the game was better”). Scene stayed true to the game.

But ohhh, OHHHH, you wanna know which death REALLY ruffled my feathers? Tess. Tess’ death was done so damn dirty in the show compared to the game (and side note, I hate the change to Tess’s character design. I loved the short hair held up by the headband, and I loved the short sleeves that showed her arms). I think by changing the entire death in the show, you take away from the character herself, and let me explain how.

In the game, they get to the Firefly meeting place, the Fireflies have been wiped out, and we find out Tess has been bitten. The military shows up, and Tess tells Joel that she’ll buy them some time and convinces both him and Ellie to leave. And the IMPORTANCE of her line “I WILL NOT turn into one of those things!”, which I’ll talk about. Joel and Ellie leave, Tess composes herself and gets ready to fight the soldiers. As you leave, you hear gunshots and hear Tess scream, and you find out she took out two soldiers; there was six guys and Tess took down two of them. This death is a perfect encapsulation of Tess’ character: resilient, stubborn, tough-as-nails, takes matters into her own hands. That is a death that treats the character with respect and actually plays into the character’s personality. It FITS. Tess is a woman whose life, her choices, it’s all in her hands and she will do what SHE wants to do.

In the TV show, they get to the Firefly meeting place, the Fireflies were killed by infected, and everything still plays out the same with Tess’ infection reveal (and I gotta say I’m not a fan of the dialogue choices nor am I a fan of the fact they tried to heavy-handedly push how Joel and Tess are a couple with the cuddling scene, whereas in the game the ambiguity of their relationship plays better into that final scene. I like the “Look, there’s enough here that you have to feel some sort of obligation to me” way more). Joel hears the infected, Tess starts tipping over some gasoline and grenades, and Joel and Ellie leave. Tess is panicking and frightened as the infected approach and flood in while trying to light the lighter, and then the BULLSHIT. The FUCKING KISS from the infected. And no I don’t wanna hear any ‘bUT it’S NoT A kISS, iT’S INfeCTiNg HEr’ excuses. It’s a fucking kiss disguised under the thin veneer of being some cool new infected lore, and it changes the entire death from a defiant last stance to a creepy, voyeuristic scene that’s going for a cringe-out factor. Like... Sure, you COULD explore that method of infection, it COULD be a neat behavior that we haven’t seen before.

But you don’t do that for Tess. She’s the wrong character to explore that with, and the show better actually try to stay consistent and show that again if people are gonna use the excuse of that scene being necessary. And the reason why it bugs me so much is because Tess, despite her short time in the story, is such a poignant character. She’s Joel’s partner, she’s OUR first partner. Taking that power out of her hands, putting her in this freaky powerless position where it’s like she’s being taken advantage of, does not compliment the character, especially when the death is a very easy to pull off trick that only solely relied on the lighter not working for cheap tension. If you wanted to give us a tense action scene, they could have actually shown us the Tess gunfight scene from her perspective, maybe give her one or two more kills than she had in the game. But this death was really insulting to the character.

TL;DR I’m incredibly autistic about all this dumb shit and it really just boils down to a difference of opinion.

i was so excited when i saw this in my inbox, and then i immediately went 'this is so general oh no' lmao, but i'll do my best anon!

-idk why but the first thing that came to mind was sports nancy. specifically volleyball nancy, she has control issues and she would absolutely be a setter. robin would be a hitter or at the very least a very gay fan sitting in the bleachers

-i'm 1000% here for the 'we had to take a gap year after we saved the world because we're traumatized' storylines and tbh i think spending a year together in hawkins just kinda working and doing a lot of nothing would be so good for both of them. nancy spends more time at family video than all the kids combined

-she and robin go out driving once in a while just to get out of town. it's not really a date but also it feels more like a date than anything they ever do in hawkins together

-nancy sneaking into robin's window because 1) she hates being in her room at night after seeing what it looked like in the upside down and 2) she just loves a little good ol' fashioned b&e. she always climbs in with this devious look in her eyes and robin falls for her a little more every time

-it's not really a headcanon but i do think A Lot about the fact that nancy got her makarov from a dead soldier's body, and tbh that doesn't come up in fics nearly as much as i want it to. like that is a horrific fact in and of itself and she just grabs that pistol without even thinking about it, what a badass, what a traumatized lil bean (and imagine what robin would think, seeing that for the first time, knowing exactly where that gun came from, having been on the wrong end of it herself)

-robin is someone who bummed around town a lot as a kid, she was never inside in the summers, and so i think she'd know a lot of weird little nooks and crannies around town. she once made a fort near the junkyard with like old tires and scrap metal and stuff. she hasn't been there for years but she and nancy are out walking one day and she ends up taking here there. nancy thinks it's cute, and also may or may not get a little bit sad thinking about how she and barb and robin all would have been really good friends

-i can't remember if there's anything in the show about like a record store in hawkins or something but in my mind there is absolutely a hole-in-the-wall record store and robin absolutely knows the owner because she's put in special orders for language tapes or weird niche operas and stuff. and so when robin shows up one day in 1986 to buy more mainstream stuff she used to scoff at, the owner definitely goes hm, okay, who's she crushing on? the answer becomes obvious the first time she walks in with nancy

-nancy thinks she's a dog person through and through, and she's a little nervous when she moves in with robin who has a very old and very anxious cat. it takes roughly 3 days for the cat to decide that nancy is his favorite person in the world, though, and she becomes an official cat lady from that moment on

I really thought that this was being a tad unrealistic, even when I first started thinking about it. But with toga refusing to be imprisoned and taking death in Ochakos arms as a sacrifice, I can’t help but wonder that if (when, lets be honest here this is another fake out lol) toga does survive in some miracle, probably through hawks, what IS an ending in which she isn’t imprisoned? Where is that?

UA BABY! Aoyama was imprisoned there when he was found out to be the spy, toga has REPEATEDLY been in the UA school uniform in tonsssss of official art! Which I talked about a certain specific official art here which was the biggest hint imo that it’s where toga would end up belonging. Will that make parents of UA students angry? The civilians? OTHER UA students, especially non heroics students? Absolutely it will. But that’s the thing, they’re going to be angry but change needs to happen. If toga was under INTENSE supervision and especially Ochako’s supervision then… I think it could work.

Toga and ochako are together, dekus looking away bc he no longer has that much importance to their story, and Aizawa is oddly close. Not yet aware of the situation or what may be in store for him in the future.

But he is their teacher, he is their guide. It’s his job to protect and, most importantly, accept them.

Maybe I’m asking for too much but. I really want toga to get her happy ending. One where she’s accepted and supported and around people her age! Having FUN with people her age! it’s insane how disappointed i am with this season… like i don’t even know how to deal w this lmao. i just feel like i’m being gaslit into believing all the stuff i previously thought about tomshiv’s dynamic and even tomgreg’s (in terms of the nero/sporus subtext) isn’t true. it’s a weird decision on the writers’ parts.

the whiplash is so odd to me that i can’t help but wonder if they’re intentionally misleading us for some late-in-the-game twist. that’s probably delusion though—simplest explanation is that they changed their mind or it’s shitty writing. seems to be a trend with hbo final seasons. let’s see how it all ends before we make any final decisions, though.

unlike failed internet darling mlm ships of the past, tomgreg isn’t a case of fandom creating a narrative and setting themselves up for disappointment—the writers intentionally implanted homoeroticism into their plotline. the actors knowingly played around with it. jesse literally called them homoerotic a few weeks ago. it’s really sad to think succession may fall prey to every other queerbait-adjacent (adjacent for now since the season isn’t over) curse, leaning into the queer undertones until they’ve written themselves into a gay corner with the internet convinced something is gonna happen, only to backtrack and pretend the vibes were never there at all. it’s too early to say if that’s the case here, but it certainly feels that way at the moment. i mean, what else are we supposed to think when the writers go from nero and sporus gay marriage as the through line of season 3, to disgusting brothers hetero sex tour comedic relief background noise with tomshiv redemption front end center? am I supposed to be enjoying this?

all that being said, on a positive note im glad we’ve seen how much closer tom and greg have gotten as partners, and that they’re scheming together and on the same page. i’m glad they’ve had at least one interaction each episode. i’m glad greg seems much more into tom than previous seasons, quelling any unrequited friendship accusations. i’m glad we got insane homoerotic undertones in episode 1, even if they’ve dropped off since then. but where we’re sadly lacking is depth—what was once the hallmark of tomgreg’s deeper connection in contrast to tomshiv’s emotional constipation. now greg makes sexual quips while tom rolls his eyes…end scene. and again. it was funny and cute at first, but now it’s getting boring. don’t they deserve a more interesting arc in the final season after years of build up? why are we subject to tomshiv rehashing the same shit we’ve seen for 3 seasons instead?

also, one of the most compelling arcs of season 3 was tom’s vengeance, especially because we saw it play out from his perspective. outside of his plane convo with greg, tom’s pov has all but been erased. even the tomshiv moments are from the lens of shiv’s experience. and as much as we may sympathize with shiv’s heartbreak over his betrayal and her dad’s death, it feels almost wrong that the show is trying to make me feel bad for her? we saw how awful she was to tom for three seasons, we saw from tom’s perspective how much she hurt him. i don’t feel bad for shiv on the tom front at all, the fact that she kept his baby feels wildly out of character, and frankly it’s a little insulting the amount of time the final season is spending trying to convince the audience otherwise.

hey, maybe my feelings will change in a few days. maybe the final episodes will change all of our minds. i’ll always have some hope for tomgreg, but right now it’s not looking promising given the treatment they’ve received so far. anyone with any positivity to share hit me up because I could use it!!

Outlanders episode/fanfic idea

Body swap/position swap with the leaders (except Jasiri, she’s safe lol)

1. The position swap is pretty simple. Janja, Reirei, Kiburi, and Mzingo are all arguing on who has the most responsibilities. Sick of the arguing and bragging about everyone’s problems, Jasiri decides everyone needs to walk in each other’s shoes and orders the others to switch places. Janja switches places with Kiburi and Reirei switches with Mzingo. Shupavu and Njano get to watch all the leaders suffer and realize leading the different groups isn’t as easy as they thought

2. The body swap is the more fun version. The problem’s basically the same, except there’s a shooting star involved. Upon seeing it, Madoa is like “Wow! A shooting star! Make a wish, Jasiri!” and Jasiri half-jokingly says “Lol I wish everyone would get to walk in each other’s footsteps”. Little does she know, the leaders wake up trapped in different bodies. And thus, hilarity ensues.

- Janja: Janja thinks ruling over the crocs is a piece of cake since Tamka and Nduli are basically Chungu and Cheezi as crocodiles. Little does he know, it’s a lot harder than it looks, since Janja has to learn how to fight as a reptile while also making sure he gets enough water. I like to think Janja would try to spar with Tamka or Nduli, only to have his tail handed to him

- Kiburi: Kinda similar to Janja while he gets used to being a mammal, but he’s pulling through. However, he’s GOT to teach the other hyenas how to fight cuz during a sparring match, he whooped everybody’s tails. Now it’s up to the rest of the clan to teach Kiburi how to loosen up

- Reirei: Reirei is not doing well as a bird. She may be good at being a mother and the voting isn’t so bad, but she cannot eat an already decaying animal for her life. And it takes about all day to learn how to fly properly

- Mzingo: He’s raised Janja and his clan pretty much their whole lives, he’s sure he can handle a litter of pups and teenagers, right? …….Right? Well, not si much. Turns out his parliamentary rules don’t really work with jackal pups. And on top of that, Goigoi keeps forgetting Mzingo isn’t really Reirei and keeps trying to kiss him (Mzingo may be gay but Goigoi is NOT his type) 😭

Not even the skinks are safe, cuz Shupavu and Njano have switched with Kenge and Sumu hfhfgf. I guess bc they thought Kenge and Sumu’s lives were easier just cuz they had venom to protect themselves

- Shupavu in Sumu’s body: Shupavu was confident Sumu’s life was easy (save for his lack of friends when he was a child) cuz of the stinger. What she DIDN’T realize was that apparently, her new stinger could come off easily and not affect certain predators like hornbills and baboons. She also learns that like Ushari’s venom, Sumu’s venom is rather precious to him and she has to be careful not to use it too much

- Njano in Kenge’s body: I think Njano is the only one who loves his new body. He’s big, he’s got venom, and he has way too much fun scaring other animals for the fun of it. I think his only downside is that he can’t exactly sneak or spy on anyone cuz they all know he’s coming lmao. Like his og form, Njano tends to leave his (or should I say, Kenge’s) tongue sticking out, making Kenge’s body a little less intimidating, much to Kenge’s chagrin

- Sumu in Shupavu’s body: This has got to be the strangest one. A scorpion in a skink’s body. While Sumu kinda enjoys the new look (and he has a much easier chance of making a new friend if he wanted to), he’s no longer venomous. And he’s got a lot more predators than he usually had, making him turn to Shupavu and Njano for protection. Also he internally freaked out when he accidentally detached Shupavu’s tail, thinking he was gonna die (which is realistic for scorpions)

- Kenge in Njano’s body: This is probably the funniest one yet. Kenge, the big venomous monitor lizard with a hatred for anything little is….well, little. And because he doesn’t have any venom either, he’s pretty much harmless. He can’t even be taken seriously cuz Njano’s face is so goofy, he appears angy and that just makes everyone laugh and go “awww”. Lmao poor Kenge

Thankfully, everyone only has to deal with this for a day, since Jasiri manages to reverse it (as for how, off the top of my head, she wishes on the north star)

Any one of the kids known as being in "Craig's gang" by the fandom (so like; Clyde, Jimmy, Tolkien lmao), and honestly Wendy. Those two haven't really interacted much, but she genuinely seems to give a shit about him lmao - her genuine concern for him after the fake breakup in Tweek x Craig made me feel so bad for her (Side note; anyone else ever been really bothered by how everyone still probably thought Craig was the bad guy at the end of that episode??? I like to think Tweek confessed to that whole ruse in front of literally the entire town right away 😭 Craig may seem like a bag of frosted arseholes but he's a good kid who desrves to be seen for who he is and not done dirty)

I hate to say it but I've never really seen him as being with anyone but Craig lmao - maybe hetero ships? Not going to go on crusades or even feel mad, but it feels odd to imply he's anything but gay to me. it definitely feels weird to see him with anyone else romantically, but if whatever is said by a fan piece interests me, I'll probably check it out.

5: first headcanon that pops into my head

I like to think that his parents are so narcissistic, that they named him Tweek unironically as a way of advertising themselves and their shop wherever the boy goes - even when his name isn't said in full. He was 100% named after the place, but they probably have some pamphlets by the door on their "company history" saying otherwise.

6: favorite line from this character

well, I believe from what I saw in the show that Will doesn't have internalized homophobia. He knows he is gay and he accepts it. I believe he is simply mad about himself for loving Mike the way he does. He believes he has no chance to end up with him. That's what hit my eyes the most when I was watching the show.

Idk I was also thinking:" why did the duffers make Will fall in love with Mike specifically when Byler was the purest friendship of the show?". They could have showed us Will pinning on boys just like they did with Robin or Dustin(with Max). Why Mike? It doesn't make sense to me unless the story isn't over. Now, how will this story end ? I don't know but it's not over.

I doubt Mike has internalized homophobia or at least I don't see it in the show. I think Mike is lost between what he wants and what people want him to be/do. This is why he lets his mom choose his clothes , this is why he is a fan of Eddie who is against conformity , this is why in season 3 he said that a boy and a girl are supposed to hang out together and make out a lot (when it's not true. He can have friends and be in a relationship. He shouldn't be forced to make his life about his relationship the way he thought he needed to do),... I may be wrong but this is what my neutral ass is telling me.

About the I love you, here is my take : I think Mike probably saw that his parents were telling each other ily in the past but Mike saw that their relationship is a big flop so I believe that since Mike isn't sure that El is the right person for him, he refuses to do like his parents and give her false hopes. He probably thinks that ily is a word you shouldn't tell anyone unless you're sure about your feelings. Now, he saw that El needed that ily and when she was almost dying in front of him, he probably thought about smth that would make El very happy and allow her to get stronger which is that ily word. Now, I believe that this ily was a little pushed because Mike really wanted to save El (he is the heart). It didn't come spontaneously. Pretty sure that if Will didn't remind Mike about what he told him in the van, that monologue would have never happened.This is why I am not sure Mike will be able to tell her ily that easily when she will ask him to unless Mike is sure about what he wants. If when he gets his shit together, he realizes that El is the one then I think he will definitely be able to tell it to her more easily but if he realises that it's other factors such as what people expect him to be that lead him to think that being with El was the right thing to do then he will tell her ily but this time he will make it clear to her that it's not romantically. I think that El's independent arc lead her to detach herself from Mike meaning that she doesn't have that codependency issues she had before. It's good.

wrong, from the very first episode we already know that Lonnie was making fun of him and bullied him for a possibility that he's gay, also he was bullied in school, was it bc of the possibility of being gay? who knows, but later we have a scene between mike and troy at school- and why did mike react like this in the first place? because troy was making fun of his missing "dead" friend saying that he's gay, that might be the proof that Will was bullied for being "gay" in school not even knowing that he's actually gay (i think that if he knew already then he was trying to deny it) Now let's focus on s3- mike tells him "it's not my fault you don't like girls" it was not supposed to be homophobic!!!! from mikes pov Will was calling his girlfriend stupid only bc he's the only one in the party without a girl and who's not interested in that stuff (yet or yk👀) and who's fault is that? definitely not Mike's 🙄(actually yeah it is your fault Michael 😭😭😭) but how did Will reacted?? do u remember? he started to think that his priority is "stupid" and that he should let it go and focus on something else like the rest of the party. In s4 we can see that he's actually struggling with his feelings for mike, he said in the van scene something like this "and when you're different, sometimes you feel like a mistake" and let's not forget the part in the script "i hate who i am" . Byler is special, because dustin,lucas,will- they're all Mike's friends, his best friends, and when dustin was trying to tell mike that lucas is his best friend, mike was really mad and said that dustin is his best friend too (and to prove it he jumped of the cliff for his teeth😭) mike is really loyal, he would never pick his favourite friend, he loves everyone, and every his friend is different and he acts different around them, for example: ofc that he will be nicer to Will than to lucas, Will is a little pookie and everyone is nice to him😭(whatever he likes it or not👀) (when they were joking around in s3 it ended really bad, that shows that Will is not a person that will take that with a distance) and lucas is more a person to joke and yk do all that stuff. But there's a difference from Will's pov and I'm not talking about his feelings for mike, it's about the fact, that he shares lucas with mike, and he shares dustin with mike, but mike himself is like a safe place for him, it was his first best friend, they met in kindergarten and they were a duo, I'll risk to say that mike was always the closest friend to will mostly bc of that, but mike doesn't have his fav, he's just more calm, caring and loving around Will than Dustin and Lucas cuz Will is different, he always has been different. Their relationship was special, but it got "ruined" in s3 when we can see that mike has different priorities than Will. And did they ruin their friendship? i don't think so, ofc they argued in s3-4 but it's important, it was a sign that their friendship is different from mike& lucas or mike&dustin ones. Will's coming out doesn't have to be the end of their sweet friendship, who said that?? like, we don't know anything yet, why does everyone think it's the end of their friendship and that there's something more? i think that it will help them to develop and become a really iconic and powerful duo in s5.

About Mike's mom choosing his clothes- i think the best season for mike was s3, he was actually himself then, and he was wearing what he wanted to, in s1 he was wearing clothes that a good son from a big rich family wears, in s2 he was literally depressed and he did not care about that💀, and in s4 he was trying to look cool, for El, for Eddie, for himself. So yea s3 was his season. I think that the time between s3-4 mike was really lost (new school, he lost his girlfriend and best friend, he was extremely bullied by the whole school etc.) and he just did not care enough to focus on his clothes that much (until hellfire club)

6."he is a fan of Eddie" well actually he was 😚(😭). And it's actually a hard thing to talk about, i see it like this- it was just mike and dustin against the whole school, and then Eddie wanted them to join hellfire, it's better to be with someone that with everyone yea? so they wanted to join, they wanted to be a part of something, they wanted to fit. We can see a huge difference between how Eddie treated Dustin and how Eddie treated Mike. That's probably the reason why mike felt like he needs to change his look (hair, clothes) to fit and be liked like Dustin.

Also let's remember that it's his first relationship and he's 14, he was dealing with a horrible trauma cuz he thought El is dead so now they wanted to spend all their time together. People can say whatever they want, but mike was paying attention to his friends, maybe not as much as before El but that's not surprising, oh god they were young teenagers in love leave them alone. El is the one people should worried about cuz she literally had no life except mike, so yea max helped a lot here, she helped El to find herself, also it's very important that El finally have her own friend, and not a friend that she shares with mike.(see i said "have"😽 can't say that anymore 😭😭😭😭) but El changed after s3, and I'm sure that they are more mature rn, and their relationship will never look the way it did at the beginning of s3 again.

8. about the ily i have my own perspective, but if u believe that mike is gay or anything like that then u won't even listen to me and i don't wanna argue with a wall😭😭 but I'm focusing on Mike's character since 2019 and i still believe he's straight. Let's remember that yea he loves El but in common we have a huge trauma about losing her again, he said that he loves her when something bad was about to happen and no one was listening to him ( in s3) but this time it was different, he was scared that she's just going to leave him cuz she doesn't need him anymore (i mean she was lying to him about how perfect life she has in lenora without him so i don't blame him) and he was scared to say it, he was scared that if he will then she will leave him sooner than she already planned. Ofc it might be connected to his parents, he doesn't really use a word "love" but he's just an awkward teenager, talking about feelings is never easy and some people have a bigger problem with that and it's okay, that's exactly what makes this show real. The monologue was honest, I'm sorry but mike is literally such a loyal, caring, and loving character, he would never, NEVER say to her that he can't live without her only for her to save the world and then to leave her for her brother(or literally anyone else)he would never do that. And Will wouldn't even allowed him to do that anyway 😭 the whole theory is wild to me.

9. have u seen the leaked mileven s5 scene? well, we don't know what are they talking about, but we can see how mature mike is. He's way calmer when he talks to her, he's not losing his words like he does rn, and their conversation looks way better than the ones they already had, so i feel like it's not about mike who doesn't know what he wants, it's just about 14 old awkward teenager who's struggling with opening up about how he feels. People really blame mike that he can't say it straight to El, but did Will manage that? no. And that's totally okay, they're just teenagers, we need to stop judge them so bad😭

Doodles from a class notebook, just making some thumbnails for some of the Bonefall concepts. Exploring traits I'd like to see and considering what works and what doesn't.

Today's characters are Russetfur, a bunch of Tigerkin, Blackstar, Firestar, a little bit of Snowfur and Whitestorm, a little bit of Redtail and Runningwing, Rosetail, and Thistleclaw. Plus the Dark Forest guys Fenneldust and Batear. As a treat.

I started off with Russet. I love her a ton, I wanted her to look kinda like an old lesbian who was the bouncer at a gay bar in her youth. Women should have thick eyebrows more often tbh.

I'm not sure if I'll keep the moustache or not, thinking about it. I think I like the smooth muzzle more, with some chin whiskers

Gorseclaw, the progenitor of the ThunderClan Tigerkin family, and his grandson Oakstar! Still working on what the "family trait" is besides long claws.

I shaded in the sclera to see if it sticks, but I may walk back on it to use it for the Dark Forest.

Up in the corner is Birchface, below him is Tawnypelt, and next to her is Brambleclaw. Tawnypelt's arm is brown and Brambleclaw's arm is golden. Mismatched sleeves.

So I initially thought I'd just have Snowfur being a bluepoint wolf, but, then I had the haunting idea to make her kinda look like she was wearing a white wolf's pelt. Like she's pretending to be a wolf and covering up what she really is; a kind of huntER aesthetic.

And Whitestorm looks a lot like his dad but less sharp, more prickly.

I'm not satisfied with these yet though, I'm going to redo them a couple times

Tried another way to draw Redtail. A bit more serious-looking. Bonus Runningwind.

Draft 1 Thistleclaw and Draft 1 Rosetail!! Rosey has the same tail as Redtail and Squirrelflight. I also tossed a bone face onto her like her daughter Spottedleaf, to balance out her colors a bit. I'm happy with this one

However I was NOT happy with this Thistleclaw. He reminds me of Finchflight, too thick, too splotchy, looks like he has a shadowstache

I made him look more like Rosetail in this one and I'm happier with it. I like how they both kinda feel like sharp plants.

Aaaand now I'm satisfied. White face works a lot better, kind of a scruffy, sharp look with a beard.

Dark Forest Dudes

I imagine Batear is SUPER gay for some reason. He also thinks Firestar is incredibly attractive and wants his cat autograph, but I don't know what Batear did in life.

He's definitely not going to get any story in canon since he was only named in an author chat, so I'm happy to make up a backstory for him.

As for Fenneldust I have a fondness for fennel lmao. I like her name. I want to make a running joke that she dies a LOT, keeps getting used to demonstrate killing moves and stomped on by various Dark Forest entities lmao.

She definitely keeps trying to catch Shrewpaw's Pheasant.

When you only have 6 episodes at your disposal, it's really not good form to wait with introducing major players up until episode 2. I know Ferhat already showed up in episode 1, but only to be inexplicably rude to Julia for a few seconds. And Discount Daniel Sträßer is entirely new to the bunch. Even if I'm biased against the premise, I think this could have been done better.

Her trusty steed, a lazy as sin paint horse named Calle, gnawed at a tumbleweed that had blown between her hooves. “Going to be a nasty one, I fear,” Wyll added. He had re-doffed his own Derby hat after shaking out some dust. While Calle was lazy as they came, his brilliantly white steed was pawing at the loose dirt, eager to sprint. Shamshir may not be the smartest horse, but what it lacked in intelligence it made up for in will and loyalty.

The first time she felt something was when the nomads had passed down the street leading into Baldur’s Gate proper. A troupe of monks that were travel weary and mud splattered, but all so so beautiful. Muscles as far as her little eyes could see, women of all shapes and sizes of all races. Rivan’s heart fluttered, heat rising up her cheeks. With most of the hostels booked for the night, the monks had chose to stay at her family’s brothel. Most people would leer and grab and jeer at the flesh on display, she’d seen loads of travellers doing it, but the monks remained calm, almost at peace with the world, and little Rivan was fascinated.

And also because I Do Not Know what exactly I am (out of the whole LGBT alphabet, I could be Gay/Les, I could be Bi, I could maybe sort of kinda be trans but I do identify with womanhood in the Greek TM way so I don't think I can call myself NB? Anyway whatever, labels don't matter to me and only make me feel weird when applied to me), so there's that.

Specifically I said "Ma, I'm not only attracted to boys." Because that's the best I can describe my hauntingly persistent bisexuality as haha.

After the initial confusion, the first question she asked was "so you'd want to have sex with a woman?" I'll keep it brief because there's not as much to say. She's younger than me so she used to have a very much "oh ew wtf" reaction.

But recently?? She's been treating it like an inside joke??? Like, refering to me as "το τέρας" ή "το αρνί" because she knows I love being affectionately/jokingly called an "it". Also making gay jokes in rare occasions, which I love.

She's a little insecure about being perceived as Λεσβία for her fashion sense, and I regularly assure her that she can wear whatever makes her feel good and not worry about how others see her. Can she rock a γυναικείο κουστούμι like a boss? Fuck yea. Does that mean she's a lesbian just because she looks masculine and pretty at the same time? Fuck no, you do you boo. I know how much you like dressing like this. Nobody's opinion can take it away. And lesbians are not Bad either, so she has a lot to unpack in the future. But I'm still very proud of her and how far she's come since I first told her (long before mom actually) and I absolutely love her to death.

I have yet to come out to him because he often ridicules openly queer people on TV. Like, οικογενειακά watching Eurovision the Maneskin year (every year really) was both hilarious and terrifying.

But, like?? He's also lowkey kinda Bi too in a repressed way? In the way that he's loyal to the woman he married but also making strong bromances when given the chance? I'm really happy about how you handled things with your sis! Being perceived as a lesbian is nothing bad because lesbians are nothing bad! She can rock whatever she wants, like you said! There are lesbians out there who dress like "everyone else", meaning that clothes can potentially be a hint but you can never tell just by the clothes. She has a lot to unpack indeed but with more teaching moments by you, I'm sure she's in good hands.

Oooooh that Dad case! I have a theory here, knowing Greek dads. Perhaps he will be more supportive than you think. Not just because of the things you mentioned, but because he loves you and supports you as his child (from what I read). Greek dads can be ride or die, especially with their daughters. So, if you are confident enough when you tell him, if you look logical and self-aware, he actually might back you up and he might be the most supportive! Parents often dismiss their children because they believe that children are doing it for attention, or because of a whim. Greek dads, I've noticed, want things to be told to them with huuuge neon letters, otherwise they don't act on the situation.

For example, you can be like "Dad, I want to tell you something. (diretor hint: play it sad and worried here, he might feel the need to be protective instead of defensive) I like women too, and I have been feeling it for a long time. I didn't feel it because someone else "indoctrinated" me to it. It's a natural feeling to me. It is not a phase. I cannot switch it on and off like it's a hall light. Most importantly, this is not dangerous for me. I know that you might be concerned and we can talk about it. I just want you to know because this is an important part of who I am."

And you can make the dialogue more or less cheesy :P In any case, when you talk to him keep in mind that he's an older man who grew up in specific decades and you have to make an effort to set things his way otherwise things will be lost in translation and neither of you will notice.

What's more, some parents of queer kids already know what their kids are. They just don't say anything out of fear they will encourage this behaviour. Meanwhile the kids get stressed for decades about how the parents will react, and when they finally come out the parents, the parents are like "eh... we already knew, to be honest. We've been watching you hug and kiss girls since you were like... six. We just hoped that you'd grow out of it, that's why we didn't bring it up. We didn't want you to grow up into a behaviour that would separate you from other kids cause they would bully you and harm you."

The grandma is TOP, by the way! I feel like many older people really know what's important in life. The thought of two women getting married might never be palatable to her but she knows that alienating family members for harmless shit is not where it's at. I love her already!

It is a fact that people slightly switch personalities when switching languages. English is a more polite, careful, and tip-toeing language, while in Greece malakas is a word of love if said to your friend 😂 And it's true that cultures perceive gender in different ways. So if you switch to US English and get into their mindset, they have another version of femininity. (Well, the whole country is diverse but I'm talking about the generic, permeating WASP stereotype of the preferred femininity in the US media)

I switch behavior in English too and sometimes I find that I'm more polite and "more feminine" there, which for me... eeeh not my style so much. (English makes us dysphoric, pass it down 😂😂😂😂)

Which brings me to another discussion. I am not nonbinary so I won't want to speculate on what nonbinary is and how it feels. Instead I will speak about a phenomenon sometimes seen in women, who, (sometimes!) need to be seen as a person (who deserves full respect) and not "just a woman" they take up the nonbinary label. Being a woman (or a man) comes with certain expectations and baggage and sometimes as a woman (or as a man) you can totally feel like "fuck it, I want to opt out" or "I already don't do these things and I don't want to ever do them or feel them, so I guess am actually not a woman/man".

I want to stress again that I don't imply non-binary people are this. And I'm not saying that's you. I'm just leaving this out there because it's very harmful when society makes you feel like "failing" at your gender and telling you "you are not a real man/woman because you don't do the X stereotypes", and some people fall for it want to "opt out" of their gender without realizing that in the process they're following the logic of... binaries.

Whatever you identify as should come from the inside, not from what society tells you a woman should be. Because, as you noticed, the Greek and the US society have different notions of what a woman "should be". Heck, you might move to Sweden and find out that out there you feel like Barbie while in Greece you may feel like Babis doing the exact same things😂 Don't rely on society and stereotypes, my humble opinion is. Rely on yourself. And it's okay if you don't have a definitive answer to "what you are". Just live and present as you are most comfortable.

One more thought that I have, which you can also take or leave, is about the sexuality part. I'm not family or a friend, and I don't know you well. I'm not an authority and I don't think my words are scripture. My speculation could perhaps help your brain cells stop χορεύειν τσάμικον γύρω απ τη φωτιά στο δάσος 😂

Heeeaaar me out. Your confusion seems a bit similar to that of people who are asexual but don't know it yet. First of all, there's a difference between aesthetic attraction and sexual attraction. Asexuals usually start thinking they are gay or bi because their sexual attraction to men and women is the same. Zero. 0 = 0 after all 😂

At the same time, asexuals can often feel "off" in their gender and gender expression because automatically they don't subscribe to amatonormative rules and hence, they don't subscribe to gender rules.

An asexual can still have aesthetic attraction to people (just not sexual) and want a romantic relationship. An asexual can have aesthetic attraction to only one gender or many. There's a whole spectrum in asexuality, and there are ace identities like the aegosexuals who are actually not sex repulsed. They are interested in sex as an idea, but they just don't experience sexual attraction for people in real life. (Imagine it like, you like watching football for the rush and the technique, but there's nooo way you want to go down on the field and start kicking a ball.)

Their relationships with their significant others are often "queerplatonic" because the way they perceive gender and companionship (that is not friendship) is queer compared to the rest of society.

I thought about this cause you mentioned the "hauntingly persistent bisexuality", and also because usually the answer to "so you wanna fuck women?" is "eh…yes??" if you are attracted to women in the usual way xD But of course, it might be just your character, that you don't want to focus on sex despite having sexual attraction, and, as you said avoid "dehumanizing" the other. So again, my speculation might be wrong. If you know you are sexually attracted to people, and if you don't have to ask "what is sexual attraction tho?" then that's probably not it😄

Jazmin and Delfi - Together because I have the same reasons for them. I would say bi, but at the same time I am like "are they lesbians without realizing it?". They're sapphic but also they're kinda boy crazy.

With Ramiro, I sometimes see him as bi and sometimes gay, and right now I would say he's gay. But I may change it to bi in like a week, idk.

Ok, so Gery... I had a phase in 2019 that I headcanoned her as bi because she seemed to be into Vilu in one (1) scene. I later rewatched the scene when s3 came out on D+ and I was like "wtf no she wasn't into her??". I've gone back and forth with her, sadly I do think I got some vibes due to her looks, which is ofc very stereotypical. But honestly, I just feel like she's straight. Also she sucks so I shouldn't even waste my time headcanoning her.

I also had some vibes for Benicio for a moment but I stopped myself because that man sucks the most of all and I wouldn't even want to waste more energy on that.

I am a little ? about Nico and Clement - Nico because he just gave off gay vibes in the beginning and then just I don't even know... and Clement because I had this "hiding your identity" subtext thing with him - he hides who he is from his father and maybe it doesn't only have to be the music... but also he seemed pretty into Vilu? But also I never took his crush seriously at all dsxfgftre. Yeah idk.

Lara is also someone I don't think is straight, but she has no labels. Being a mechanic is her only label.

Now, basically every character I haven't mentioned I either see as straight or just haven't thought much about it - but the ones on the list are the ones I really got a "oh yeah they are DEF straight" moment. With Germán and Tomas it's "ugh, straight men -.-" but with everyone else on the list I am more like "they're straight :)"

🔥 - your opinion on Jemily (and gay/bi JJ in general)

Hi, nonnie, thanks for stopping by!

My opinion on Jemily may ruffle some feathers, but I only like them/ship them under very specific circumstances. I like the pairing and think they have great chemistry and a wonderful bond, but I don't like them as an actual couple. I actively dislike married Jemily and soft, domestic Jemily and Jemily as moms and all those other OTP situations that wlw shippers in this fandom like to put them in. Jemily must be angsty, messy, and at least a little bit one-sided and/or uneven and/or painful for Emily (and possibly also JJ), or it must be all smut no plot. Otherwise, I want nothing to do with it. I see Jemily as this really beautiful years-long saga of complicated sapphic yearning and wondering what could have been. (If you want to read 6000 words about it, read this fic lol.) I do think they've slept together at least once and blurred the lines between "just friends" and "more than friends" multiple times over the years. They care about each other, they're attracted to each other, and at times, they've both wanted something more than what they had. Maybe they could have been great together if things had been different, but there's always been something standing in their way, keeping them from getting it together and being anything more. My girl Emily Prentiss deserves her great love and her happily ever after, but she's not going to find it with JJ. For that, I 100% believe in Temily. (If you want to know why, send me another ask--or read Caution to the Wind lmao!) I can also see it working with Penemily, but I really prefer Temily because I'm the biggest Tara Lewis simp you will ever meet in your life and also a pretty big Garvez shipper.

As for my opinion on JJ, I'll let you in on a little secret, nonnie: She's really not my favorite. In seasons 1-5, when she's the unit liaison, I love her and appreciate her and think she brings a lot to the team and to the show, but I'm not emotionally attached to her the way I am with Emily or Tara, and seasons 7-15 profiler JJ just kinda rubs me the wrong way. Like I don't hate her, but I don't particularly like her either. That said, I know she's something of a comfort character for a lot of people, and I can see how at various points over the course of the show, she kind of gives off a bit of a queer vibe, maybe, so I think if you like JJ and want to interpret her as gay or bi, that's totally valid! It's maybe a little weird to me that you'd zero in on JJ for your queer headcanons when Emily is right there. Tara is right there. Alex is right there. Penelope is right there. Spencer is right there. Luke is right there. Still, I am generally completely in support of queer people seeing one of their favorite characters do something that gives off a queer vibe and deciding to interpret them as queer because it makes them happy and helps them better engage with and relate to the media they consume (although I do have some legitimate beef with bi Emily truthers--send me another ask if you'd like to know why!). Personally, I see JJ as being not entirely straight, but predominantly into men, and a little too repressed and closeted to fully figure out and come to terms with her feelings for women and actually call herself bisexual. I don't agree with the characterization of her being like, some homophobic small-town soccer mom, but I also can't really see her being out and proud and openly in love with a woman.

i'm going to talk abt erotica now lol

so i've mentioned before that wolf's tooth was initially just, like. i was at c2e2 and i was sitting in on panels and i needed something to do with my hands so i started designing characters for a smut comic feat. werewolves and that those characters were raleigh and kirby. and then i never finished the comic lol but i kept drawing the characters-- raleigh in particular, who's made of such fun shapes and doesn't have kirby's fucked up nose and is just so fun to draw over and over again for eternity.

EXCEPT.... you'll notice that in the drawings from 2019 ( those trad sketches are, like, The First Raleigh And Kirby Drawings, Ever, Drawn At-Con) raleigh Already has his story-reliant neck scars. that's because those were initially a sex thing lmao, BUT because i wasn't going to be finishing that original comic and i was getting more and more attached to the characters (and because i love thrashing my characters), i couldn't just... Not... explain those scars. And Therefore:

(look at how itty bitty the scar on his face is btw... it's just a baby :')...)

so the concept behind this stage in wolf's tooth's narrative is largely the same: raleigh goes to his boyfriend's mother's house with kirby's cousins and the house is surprise-attacked by another pack of werewolves; raleigh is bitten but he doesn't turn into a werewolf (at this point it was just, like, biology; sometimes it doesn't work and we don't really know why-- may revert to this if my balls out draft doesn't mesh in the end) and the gang goes on a roadtrip to get some revenge. However, in this stage the pedersen pack was much more, like... Chill. i'm really into werewolves and i love reading werewolf stories, and i'm really into comics so i had been spending a lot of time reading on tapas, and i realized that there was like a veritable wellspring of indie werewolf prose fiction on tapas. Unfortunately a lot of what i ran into was that, like... essentially-just-omegaverse; crazy-unexamined-power-dynamic; gender-essentialist; one-of-these-characters-is-just-going-to-be-a-woobie-nervous-baby-while-the-other-one-is-a-hotheaded-d-bag; one-of-them-is-16-the-other-is-30; horny-but-in-an-adolescent-way -type deal, and a lot of them had these like heavily abusive hypermasculine misogynist (without any women???????? this is the omegaverse factor bc even the, like, gay omegaverse is like bioessentialist misogyny with extra steps) pack dynamics that were seen as like Genre Standard (and i think it's because the Algorithm was feeding me largely romances + genres tend to eat each-other like that) and the oversaturation of it was really grating on me so my little transgay anarchist ass was like 'my werewolf pack is just going to be one big happy family', so i had essentially just cut the power dynamic factor entirely.

uhhhhh but then i had trouble writing the story, because there was a single conflict and i couldn't make that conflict work in my fluffy little werewolf world-- it just didn't fit the vibe, it didn't make a lot of sense. so i started to add power dynamics back into the story in a way that felt more meaningful and thematic: lovise wants her direct bloodline to maintain control of the pack but kirby doesn't want to be the alpha; the pack is too large for a single alpha to direct, because she can't be everywhere at once, so her subordinates are becoming impatient with the rigid rules she's implemented to try to keep up; individual interpersonal conflicts between wolves in different pods that make the pack less cohesive; external pressure from other smaller packs because the pedersens are just so scary powerful, etc. it's much darker and more stressful a narrative than it was initially, but to my genuine relief it's nowhere even close to those stories that i was trying so hard to push away from lmao

and that's how awtfr went from pwp (porn without plot) to pwp (porn With plot) to handing out trauma like i'm bad santa
