Completely self indulgent post but here's one of the post-canon scenarios I have in my head for G Gundam.
Maybe skip this post if you don't like dark themes. Not all of what I've outlined is dark (most of it isn't), but I do cross the line past what appears in the show in regards to DG cells and abduction.
The shuffles all get roped into restoration projects on Earth between the 13th and 14th gundam fights, partially to have something to do alongside their training, partially out of inspiration by the common points of the Kasshus' and Master Asia's goals, and partially because netting their countries some decent publicity is likely to earn them favors during the Gundam Fight's off-years.
Sai is contacted by Kyral about an effort to clear out the infamous buildup of trash and cadavers on Everest; he wants Sai to leverage Neo China's help as something of a reparation kind of deal and Sai goes sure why not.
Sai recruits Argo because Bolt Gundam is built to withstand the cold, and he thinks Argo and Nastasha could help reverse engineer that quality to enable the use of their Gundams as both heavy work equipment and protection from the harsh environmental conditions that normally prevent this kind of operation.
George gets involved because someone he knows has a distant relative who died on the mountain a century ago, and they wanted him to check in with the forensics team on the project. This detail is important because eventually it becomes clear that there is a mystery to solve (that I myself haven't figured out all the details of yet but broadly know the setup and conclusion); DG-infected people are disappearing and not being investigated due to stigma. Our heroes are naturally going to be pissed about this, and will need an "in" with the field if they want to do anything about it.
First massively self-indulgent element: The forensics/body identification team inexplicably includes the real-world author Kathy Reichs, who somehow exists in this universe, and there's a little side bit about her having written a Bones book right before the 12th fight that featured a cooked cadaver found inside a gundam after entry into the Earth's atmosphere. There are a lot of weird coincidences in the book that parallel the DG incident, which creeps everyone out, but the similarities are merely born of the writer threading the needle of being believable and interesting in a way that became very true to life.
What does become relevant is when the Shuffles eventually meet up, she's able to explain the implications of a bunch of weird shit the fighters discovered (also Marie Louise read her book, and one of the in-universe liberties Reichs took writing about the gundams' black boxes that she explains in the afterword leads to ML realizing something important; that Neo Germany does not have its gundam's remains.)
While the Everest project is happening, Domon, Chibodee, and Allenby all want to continue their training somewhere on Earth, and receive a proposal from (an OC of mine who is) a historic preservationist (and an acquaintance of Allenby's): she has acquired the grounds of an abandoned castle in Europe* after submitting a plan to restore it, and needs to hire people to help with the labor.
*the castle is probably somewhere in Germany because I also want this pitch to have drama over Schwarz (pre-13th fight), Schwarz (Kyoji), and Schwarz (the next guy who was supposed to inherit the mask when the older ninja retired). Also Germany is fucking pretty.
In exchange for the help of the three gundam fighters, they and Rain get paid, plus room and board anywhere on the grounds, plus full access to the grounds and miles of sparsely-inhabited countryside for training purposes, and the privacy and ability to practice with their gundams that comes with being in the middle of fucking nowhere. Rain sets herself up to work a clinic in the next town over as well as practicing pro re nata wilderness medicine (I'm convinced every medic supporting the gundam fight would need to be able to do this.)
The group involved in the Castle project sticks around for a time, makes some good progress, and engage in occasional Shenanigans that come up when you put a bunch of weirdos in a Situation.
They aren't in town a lot save for Rain, but when they are they eventually start to pick up on gossip and news about the Mysterious Disappearances correlated with DG cell infection (as well as details that turn out to be important later). Eventually Rain brings this to Domon and Chibodees' attention and they decide that, yeah, this is tied to the DG, this is their problem, they should convene with the rest of the Shuffle Alliance about it.
Also of course Schwarz is involved because I'm the one writing this; the culprits' DG-tissue harvesting operation relies on having him captured and helpless, using cells from his body to "update" other victims' DG infections to a less aggressive strain. One thing I haven't decided is whether I want a reinstantiated Wong to head this shit, or make up my own morally bankrupt opportunistic asshole looking to twist the DG to their own benefits. I also need to decide where on the planet the center of all this insanity is, and it needs to be a place that isn't going to have any unfortunate implications (because that's a genuine risk with dark story elements)
... That's about as much as I have that is thought-out enough for me to explain. I return to thinking about this scenario a lot because it puts most of the characters way out of their element (and has a bunch of details that appeal to me specifically), and it kind of evolved into an incomplete plot outline that I don't currently have any plans to flesh out.
I think it's an interesting enough direction to go, because it follows through with a lot of the themes present in G, but takes advantage of the genre shift to avoid DBZ-crazy power scaling and adjusts the conflict more to a matter of where the main characters' prowess is most effective (Both in and out of the gundams. I'm assuming there are a ton of guys similar to Michelo's gang that just need fighting interspersed with everything else I described. In fact, kicking Some Group of Douchebags out of their protection racket is probably how team Castle even gets ahold of evidence related to missing persons.)

as promised, here’s a collection of head canons/just random thoughts that have been chewing away at my brain ever since @sofiaaaaaaaa03 made an innocent little post about their scribe of the gods series and we went completely off the rails about it in the notes
this ended up being much longer than I had expected and is still not as organised as I would have wanted, but it is what it is
anyways, enjoy me rambling about y/n and their antics <3
they hate basically any ancient painting that (for whatever reason) they happen to be in, because the artists never get (insert specific facial feature) right
sometimes looking at their own reflection makes them uncomfortable (’why do I look like that? I don't feel like it. I'm older.’) so they have curtains hung up on every mirror at their place, just in case
but its not like they don't age, its just a slower process. so whenever they notice random physical changes that weren’t there a couple years ago they get all giddy <3
there are certain food items/recipes that are no longer popular or even being made and they used to love them but can't ever taste them again :(
it takes everything they have in them not to correct people who believe a popularly accepted but historically inaccurate fact because answering the “,,,how do you know that?” question get a big awkward
on the other hand, they sometimes straight up refuse to indulge certain knowledge they have of old mysteries/conspiracies so they can be entertained by people’s (mostly steven’s) frustration
either that or they just say wildly incorrect things in a matter-of-fact way, again, leaving people (yes, mostly steven) really fucking confused
“oh yeah, einstien’s moustache was like completely fake, he used to put it on before every public appearance”
“,,,what-”
they for sure say shit like “hey, is that any way to talk to your elders now. hm?” whenever marc makes an even slightly rude remark
“well back in my day-” (referring to the 18th century)
oh you think remembering humiliating things you did 2 months ago is bad? try cringing over things you did in 1907, so much worse
they tell the boys about embarrassing and wacky things khonshu has done over the centuries so the system can use it against him
speaking of which, them judging marc for letting khonshu manipulate him is so much funnier with this context. because not only are they on the same boat, but they’ve been going through it for decades- which is comparatively so much worse- (true clown behaviour on their part)
and because of how much time they’ve spent merely existing, perceiving time is a constant struggle to them
steven: you’ve been working for a while now, mate. how about a break?
y/n: it’s been like 30 minutes, steven. i'm fine.
steven: 6 hours, actually. its been 6 hours
and it doesn’t go as small as just hours or minutes, sometimes they lose track of days. which is what caused the habit of always checking the date first thing in the morning to remind themselves that time is indeed moving at its normal pace; an anxiety that was amplified by spending time in the archives. they’ve lost way more time in there compared to canon
and this time around when they lost 5 years to that goddamned place again, the initial dread didn't last as long, instead replaced by a sense of unfortunate acceptance as they got ready to mold themselves according to the changed world once again
and because of the amount of times they’ve had to break apart and piece themselves together again to fit in, keeping a stable identity is important to them. just to reassure themselves that they are still them, even with how much everything else has changed
maybe they take those online personality quizzes over and over again, making sure to remember themselves and how they act, what they like etc. sure its a bit silly but whatever helps, right?
maybe they even tried joining those ‘post-snap counselling groups’ pretending that they had been snapped so they could talk about how they lost 5 years too, only slightly differently (idk how long that would last though)
on another note, I'd like to think that they’ve been a sort of mentor figure to every avatar that has come and gone. they’re always the one that a new avatar would go to if they needed advice or just general direction, knowing that because of how long y/n has done this, they would most likely have some advice
they also use this to their advantage sometimes when the avatar’s get into a bit of an argument at a meeting. using dialogues such as “you seem to forget I've had 10 times your experience, kid. I think I know better” isn’t something they really enjoy, but it gets the job done and djehuty seems quite entertained when they do it so oh well
SPEAKING OF DJEHUTY
I think the fact that djehuty has kind of been the only constant companion they’ve had throughout the years definitely causes mixed feelings for them, even before they found out they’re being manipulated. just his ever-lasting presence is a form of comfort, though he can be condescending and test y/n’s patience on a regular basis
he has seen his avatar get overwhelmed and breakdown numerous times over their long life, and its not that he doesn't want to help, its that he doesn't know how.
so he’ll sometimes come over and drop a piece of dark chocolate on their head to distract them
y/n: ,,,, the fuck was that??
djehuty: you looked sad
because sure he’s an asshole, but he’s as asshole who tries. I am the leader of the djehuty apologist group, can you tell?
y/n definitely has random flashbacks at time, accompanied by moments of dissociation because their head is filled with way too many memories and wait? has this exact same scenario happened before? was that memory? a dream? just deja vu?? what even is real??
losing their powers in the realm of the duat hit them like a truck. they’ve been able to carry things 5 times their own weight for so long that not being able to easily over power people (or hippos) sent them into instant  fight or flight
also the fact that this time around when they died it would be such a cathartic moment??? because they were starting to believe that they would never get to feel the calming sensation of death wash over them (as morbid as that is) and how it must have felt to finally have that?? only to have to go back and choose hundreds of years of servitude once again
but also coming back with a soul this time, their soul, and experiencing what they could only describe as pure fucking euphoria (I still have multiple thoughts on that but that’s for another day)
in conclusion: they’re a mess, but they’re good at being one :)

idk man.......something about Percy feeling more proud of his similarities with his mother than his similarities with his father, who is a literal Olympian god....... young Percy boldly declaring that Sally Jackson is better, more important than the will of the gods, and that she should be seen and remembered....... Percy praying to his human mother because she is the only one he truly believes in even after realizing great forces exist in the world....... something about Sally Jackson representing humanity, and Percy, despite being offered greatness and divinity and having all the cool powers and glory to his name, choosing to stay mortal– not only that, he takes pride in his humanness, in the fact that he is his mother's son....... yeah.

a very major part of being in the doctor who fandom is watching critics say that “doctor who has become too political” or “doctor who has become woke” as if it wasn’t political the last ten times they said that

Thinking about Robin and Sunday's halos.
About how Robin's halo isn't a closed circle, but more like a branch forming a circular shape, where the start and stem don't touch. It's also uneven in shape and splits into three flowers, like it's allowed to grow freely, unobstructed. Something about Robin having left Penacony and having escaped the confines of her cage, being able to flourish. About her being able to let people in, and connect to them.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile Sunday stayed behind to be the head of the Oak family and conform to the strict role that's expected of him, and his halo is a perfectly symmetrical shape that's practically fully closed off. It's sharp, almost more like a crown of thorns than a halo. And it almost doesn't have any openings to let anything, or anyone, in easily. It actively discourages getting close to it.
Tumblr media
And then if you want to get sappy about, which I will - Sunday doesn't let anyone in, with that almost completely sealed, thorny halo of his... But there's an opening in Robin's halo, and so it can fit around Sunday's. Something about him always being able to find solace in her, because there's room for him in her (halo) heart always, by design.
Anyway I'm not normal about them.

if Zoro asked Luffy 'would you still love me if I was a worm?' Luffy would be vibrating out of his skin with excitement detailing how he would take care of Zoro and build him a special little enclosure and make him little swords out of sticks so he can still achieve his dream of being the world's greatest swordsworm and feed him worm sized portions of meat and booze everyday and carry him around everywhere so they can still do everything together.
he also delightfully rambles about how he could be a worm also and they'd go on worm adventures together and make friends with all sorts of other bugs and how much fun they'd have.
edit: there's fanart for this scenario now! show it lots of love it's absolutely adorable!!!

This concept hasn’t left me alone since I saw that “Danny is a chemistry wizard who teaches a chem class, but in a very Fenton way” post, and i need to yell it out into the void.
Danny gets adopted by the batfam, but he’s like that with chemistry and mechanics and it gives them all a stroke. Especially Bruce. Doubly so if Danny is his bio kid or clone or something.
Danny has an allowance and he buys the most concentrated shit on the market with it because he got bored and wanted to see if he could re-create the fear toxin antidote he saw in the cave, especially since they seem pretty low on it. Do they have to get it from somewhere else? Danny knows the Waynes are rich, but there has to be a better way to do it than buying it for an arm and a leg. Maybe he’ll mess around and do the one for joker venom later.
Lab safety? Oh, yeah Dick, I’ve got my goggles and gloves and jumpsuit on. Of course I have the hood up. Turn on the vent? What vent? Why would I need a vent? Labels? Dude, look at it, it’s cetrimonium chloride. Oh, yeah, that’s the shampoo i got it from. You’d be surprised how many things you can isolate from household stuff.
Why would I use machines to measure this? Isn’t that for when you’re already busy doing something else? Yeah, like the centrifuge running over there. *gestures vaguely off to the left, to some abomination of mechanics* Whatddya mean that’s a safety hazard? It’ll stay together just fine; I made sure to use a new bike chain.
Where’s the rest of the blueprints? What do you mean “that’s it”? Aren’t there revisions and ideas? Where’s the reminders? Why’s there only one machine???
meanwhile the bats are wondering how the fuck the Fentons get literally anything done with lab safety apparently being a suggestion at best, and their storage system apparently being categorized by nine layers of nonsense and how violent the invention has the potential to be, if Danny’s ramblings are anything to go by. And Bruce “I need plans and contingencies for everything” Wayne is absolutely trying to not have an aneurysm from how much Danny just Does Things with no warning and no way that should feasibly work.

Kurvitz stresses that Kim doesn't actually have a character sheet hidden in Disco Elysium's code. Imagining that Lieutenant Kitsuragi has only one natural attribute point in Motorics helps the ZA/UM team to understand the depth of his character beyond what's referenced in the game's dialogue. "We just came up with this stuff for coherency," says Kurvitz. "And because we're nerds."
"I like to think Kim has a Thought Cabinet project called Revolutionary Aerostatic Brigades that he's worked on since he was a teenager," Kurvitz says. "This raises the learning caps for his Reaction Speed and Interfacing."
Kim's high Volition skill makes him impervious to prying, Kurvitz says, as the detective can find out on occasions being met with Kim's brick-wall resolve. Kim often chastises these whims of the detective's, but will occasionally play along. The Lieutenant finds his new partner funny, says Kurvitz.
Kim is naturally shit at Motorics and thinks Harry is funny source

Machi's Idea #4
The JL can't understand what's wrong. They did their best effort to honor the king of dead and celebrate accordingly with the most strict protocol. Yet the king seems equally dull and annoyed. The JLD knows what's going on but they decided to say nothing in the hopes that this would teach the JL a lesson. Jason tried to explain the situation but none of the "adults" (aka Batman) listened to him so he decided to get his point across by getting into a fist fight with the king. One hour later they are kissing and Jason is explaining to the JL that ghost bond through fighting.
