Oh man. This is one of those things I waffle on hard. Because I think the real root of BB not wanting to have anything to do with the kids is because their creation, and existence, was born of betrayal.
BB knew people were thinking about him passing his genes along. It's hinted at a little bit in MGS3, if in a sort of 'off-handed' way, but he was certainly aware people around him (like Para Medic) thought about it and had considered it.
To me, one of the key issues with the clones is that he wasn't given a chance to say 'yay' or 'nay'. Everyone just did it behind his back, because they had access to his DNA. That alone (the non-consensual aspect) is more than enough for him to reject his 'sons' completely.
And he isn't wrong to do so, in this regard. The sons themselves are innocent, but that doesn't make it easy for BB to accept them as 'his' when he wasn't given a choice, or any form of capability to consent.
There was also the timing. NOT that him being cloned against his will would ever, in any circumstance be okay, but at the time, BB was still grieving the Boss, and had been used and betrayed by the USA. I tend to keep in mind that the US using him was a betrayal for BB, because before that, he willingly followed the will of the government.
Something the Boss herself warned against.

After all that, people he considered his friends, also betray him. By this point BB must've truly felt that he can't trust anyone, and that no matter where he goes, someone out there is only going to see him as some kind of glorified tool; no matter how much he might've trusted them, or how strong their relationship was.
With all that being said, if we do remove the cloning aspect, and assume the twins to have been born the normal way (that is, the old-fashioned consensual way with Eva) would he have kept them?
I'd say it would depend on the circumstances. There's a brief period after MGS3, before The Patriots are formed where BB is working odd jobs, and just trying to find his place again. Could he ostensibly settle down and be a standard all-American family man?
Honestly, I don't really think so. I think that he knows and understands warzones the best; and that he has a level of discomfort with society that is hard to ignore. I think BB would end up finding a warzone or war-adjacent zones anyway, and that anything else just ends up being a temporary delay or temporary reprieve.
Having children would get in the way of that. (Until later, of course..we know he has Chico and children in Zanzibarland, by the time he's a full-out warlord)
Which shifts me into the secondary aspect, or a possible alternative-BB accepting his sons when they're old enough to be 'useful' to him. In this case, they'd be part of his soldiers, his men, and work under him. Obeying him the same way any of his other soldiers do; and working for the same 'end' goal.
I think he and Liquid would clash even without Liquid's ever-present desire for patricide, but I imagine he and Dave would get along to some degree, if they had aspects they could bond over. Even if that bonding only ever boils down to 'sitting side by side doing some task or another, and not saying a word' Maybe hunting together, or other things they can share.
I don't know that BB would ever see himself as a 'family man'. But I could see him accepting them as his sons if they were wanted by him to some degree. Or slowly accepting them in his life, if they were brought into the world with his consent.
There could maybe be an argument of him accepting them despite the non-con aspect, but I think it'd be more with an element of 'you're men that I respect and like, but I can't call myself your father'.
Which is..essentially what ends up happening, way at the end.

Excerpt: Over the course of four hours, Cas serves up two more milkshakes, a root beer float, and a handful of freshly mixed sodas. He also makes just under three dollars in tips. Mary shows up toward the end of his shift. She doesn’t even drop off her stuff first, just immediately walks up to Cas at the counter, takes a seat, and asks how his first day went.
“It was good,” Cas says. He glances over Mary’s shoulder and watches as Dean rings up a customer. “Informative.”
“Pretty straightforward, right?”
“Yes,” Cas nods, full of conviction. He takes it seriously. This is a place of business after all.
Mary smiles at him. “And Dean didn’t give you any trouble?”
Cas shakes his head just as quickly and averts his eyes. “He was very helpful.”
And just like that, Dean’s standing in front of him. “Course I was. I should be the mascot for all family-owned drug stores.” Mary gives him a look and Dean drops the act, somewhat. “Kid did great. He’ll be running the place by the end of the summer.”
Mary looks back at him, proud, and it almost takes Cas out to have someone look at him with that much pride. Even at her best, his mom never looked at him like that.
“Let me grab you a uniform,” Mary says. “We keep some extras in the back.”
He watches her head into the backroom and looks back at Dean.
“By the way, tips are usually shared among the staff,” Dean says. “For future reference.”
“Oh,” Cas says, immediately reaching into his pocket to pull out the cash.
Dean shakes his head. “Keep it, dude. It’s barely anything. Besides, you did all the work.”
“Are you sure?”
“Positive.”
Cas nods, depositing the cash back in his pocket. He stands there another second wondering if he should say anything, or if he can get away with signing out and then leaving. He wonders what Dean will get up to for the rest of the day. He spent most of his down time during their shift studying. Cas wonders if he was getting his studying out of the way now in case he has plans later.
“Hey,” Dean says, grabbing his attention back. “Don’t be offended if I ignore you at school.”
“Oh,” Cas says. He shrinks in on himself. Sometimes he feels so young.
“Yeah.” Dean shrugs like it’s no big deal. Maybe it isn’t, to him. To Cas, it feels like someone stomped on his heart. “See you around, kid.”
Cas watches him leave, like he didn’t leave something shattered in his wake.

hey everyone and happy new year! I don’t typically do authors notes but I figured I would give it a try this time. I’ve been really wanting to come back to writing but between my busy schedule and own issues, I hadn’t happened for me until now. I really wrote this small fic on a whim heavily inspired by my first semester at college. I’ve gotten to know the party scene well and it doesn’t pair the best with my own social anxiety, so ofc I had to project that onto my favorite characters and give them a happy ending. what can I say, it makes me feel better, sue me. hope you enjoy!

You've all seen the Goth kit styled beautifully by other creators... but what if I showed you it straight up?
No cc, no pairing with items from other packs... this is what we're left with. Alternative heading: Idk how some of ya'll have made this kit look so good, but let's talk about it.
My thoughts... ↓
Right off the bat: I don't like most of the swatches on these items and I don't think I would constitute most of the swatches as "Goth." For example - what is that weird blueish-purple swirly tablecloth looking swatch on every item? More than that though, I think the biggest issue with this kit is that the items themselves don't pair well with each other.
We'll start out with the makeup: we only got 3 makeup items with this kit and I don't feel strongly about any of them personally. I will say that the runny makeup swatch is kind of cool and unique but idk how often I'll personally find a use for it. (Sidenote: because all the makeup is slider compatible I do think he lack of swatches is okay. Also, storytellers might find the runny makeup item useful if they slide the opacity down because then it would look like more natural, runny makeup after crying. Just a thought!) It is peculiar to me that 2/3 makeup items are locked for fem frame only and I'm wondering if this was just an oversight. Regardless, I'm noting that as a negative - if you want to use the lipstick or eyeshadow on a masc frame sim you need to uncheck masc frame in the makeup category of CAS for it to show up.
I HATE the egg-head hoodie, especially because 1. it could have been such a cool item that I would have used a lot if it didn't give sims a dramatic gnome pointy head and 2. it's unusable on fem frame sims due to the bug eye issue which everyone has already pointed out but I'm going to point out as well because... wtf?! I am also not a huge fan of the earrings and necklace that came with the kit due to the fact that they're just really clunky-chunky and the necklace felt like a late addon to me as most of the outfits had a high neck, so pairing the choker with the majority of outfits from this pack didn't actually look good. I was shocked there were no tattoos, no hats, not a single hairstyle (my biggest complaint about this kit and CAS kits in general as we always need more hairstyles), no facial piercings, not even a nail polish. And, as always, masc frame sims were short-changed in comparison to fem frame sims.
One positive note is that I think a few of these items could pair well with items from other packs and, of course, some amazing cc that's out there as you've probably already seen some creators do. (But, again, that's not what I'm personally reviewing so really that's neither here nor there, but I wanted to note it nonetheless.)
Here's a list of the items I personally liked:
The trench coat full-body outfit in both frames (sans some swatches).
The Tripp style shorts - I think I will use these a lot (and I think the recolors will be great).
The very first outfit I showed above in the fem frame (mesh shirt and shorts) is workable.
The plain leather jacket top in both frames (versatile, simple, lays on all bodies well and recolors will be nice).
The t-shirt with a mesh shirt or fishnet shirt underneath.
I suppose I also like the bracelet and gloves that came with this pack, but that's just because they were simple and inoffensive lol. Idk how the sims team could have possibly screwed up those items. I'll use them at some point though I'm sure, so that's a very weak win I will give them.
All of that to say...I don't like this kit nearly as much as the Grunge kit. Most of the items are middle of the road at best and poorly executed at worst. I didn't have unreasonably high expectations for this kit, but I still think it could have been done better and I think it's okay to want better as a community (especially because not everyone can use cc, so this might be the only goth stuff they have to work with). If EA can't execute something well, they just should do it. This is why I don't agree with the "did you all expect EA to give us a well-done Goth kit?" crowd because yes, actually, I did! We should expect them to at least do the bare-minimum and do their research so they can deliver on a concept that they proposed to us in the first place and will be making money off of... but I digress!
I still stand by the fact that nearly everything looks super chunky and dated - if someone told me all of this came out with the base game or an older pack like Realm of Magic, I would believe them.

I'll say it again: the hoodie thing is bananas to me. Idk how they didn't catch that before releasing the damn kit but that's a careless mistake that would be funny if it wasn't so expected.
That's the Goth Galore kit in its entirety! These were just my opinions, so keep that in mind. You can love this kit and disagree with me and that's okay! But for those of you wondering what it looks like in game with no cc/reshade/or any embellishments before you buy it, I hope this little overview was helpful!

All of a sudden, Dean’s entire body tingled, and he swallowed when he felt Cas’ gaze focusing on him. Every time Cas looked at him, it felt like hovering next to a live wire. The hairs on his body stood up, and something prickled inside him.
It shouldn’t be possible, but it felt like remnants of Grace reacted to Cas whenever the angel turned his attention towards him. Sweat started to rise on Dean’s forehead, and he stared at the faded pages of the book in front of him while heat rushed through him.
Tracing the lines with his index finger and trying to focus on the blurry words before his eyes, Dean heard footsteps. They were walking towards him, and for a moment he forgot how to breathe. He could feel Cas’ proximity, and he was sure Cas felt the same.
Unable to evade Cas’ gaze any longer, Dean lifted his head, just to find his best friend watching him closely. Dean bit his bottom lip, and Cas’ eyes followed the movement.
Unbidden, Sam’s words rushed back to Dean’s mind. He couldn’t do anything to stop it, especially with Cas’ eyes firmly focused on his lips.
“Like what you see?” Dean quipped, thankful that his voice didn’t give out. He felt less confident than he tried to make Cas believe.
But of course, Cas was Cas. Tilting his head, he nodded before his eyes lifted just enough to gaze into Dean’s. “Yes, I like it very much.”
A shudder ran down Dean’s spine and he swallowed. Cas’ words didn’t need to mean anything. Maybe, Cas just liked lips, any lips, not only his.
Which would mean— Dean blinked. Shit! Cas never— Dean would have noticed if Cas had stared at Sam’s lips with the same intensity, as he seemed to watch his. And not just Sam’s lips, everyone else’s too.
Dean stared at Cas as if he looked at him for the first time. It felt as if he saw him in a new light. It just— It couldn’t be. Cas never—
Dean’s heartbeat raced. He could feel it beating up to his neck. Goosebumps erupted all over his body, and sweat started to rise on his forehead.
Jumping up, Dean stumbled back. His chair crashed to the floor, but it didn’t stop his retreat. “I— Sorry, I—I gotta go.

Of course, they came up with more than one plan since they’ve heard the saying that plan a never works.
Turns out that the twins’s Auntie Liddy was more than willing to help with their plan as was Nia’s cousin Cora. This made the children cheer because they saw how miserable their daddies were now and if their plan worked, that would change and then upon the success of their plan they’d all three of them have two daddies. So, they got to work on what Auntie Liddy and Cora said was called the Stubborn Boys in Love Plan. Nia scrunched up her nose and suggested an alternative name.
“We should call it Parent Trap.”
Lydia and Cora exchanged a look and smiled. The twins giggled remembering those two movies from one of their sleepovers.
“At least there’s no new woman or anything,” Cas said.
“Yeah!” Reyn chimed in. “Plus, I like Mr. Hale. I don’t want a new mommy. I want a daddy.”
“And I like Mr. Tinski. So, me too,” Nia said softly.
“Me three!!” Cas said and they all bumped fists. “We should also rewatch the movies for research purposes. Daddy always says that research is very important.”
All three of the children agreed much to the amusement and fondness of Cora and Lydia who were more than willing to get the two stubborn men to sort things out.
It was time to put their heads together. This plan was gonna work, all of them knowing that without a doubt.

Nia left her pillow at Lydia’s House and asked her daddy to get it. Peter wanted to send Cora because he knew Stiles had planned to see Lydia, though don’t ask him how he knew that. Cora refused and Peter went. Stiles shoved the pillow at him and slammed the door. Peter sighed, but as he turned to head back to his car, he heard Lydia’s voice. “You’re being stubborn and acting like a child, Stiles.”
“Watch it, Lyds. I love you and you’re my best friend but if you think that you can order me to be nice to the man who tried to poison me with the same poison that killed—”
“I’m sorry.”
Peter heard them shuffle closer and suspected Lydia was hugging Stiles. Peter wished he could comfort the man and his wolf was whining at him to do just that, but Peter kept walking, got in his car and left all the while wondering who the poison had killed and terrified it was the twins’s mom. Wouldn’t that just be Peter's luck?

1. What’s your favourite sims death?
Hard to say, removing pool ladder is a classic everyone loves, but I really loved Mummy Curse Death from TS3 World Adventures, as it has to be one of the most forboding and ominous.
2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match?
I go with a mix of both, don't really care.
3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight?
My sims rarely gain weight.
4. Do you use move objects?
Of course I do, everybody does!
5. Favorite mod?
Deaderpool's MC Command Center is a must. I'm also a big fan of Coolspear's and Sacrificial's work, and lately I fell in love with new custom skills by JaneSimsten.
6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got?
That's gotta be Hot Date for Sims 1. Yeah, I'm that old.
7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing?
Since English isn't my native language, I tend to alternate between those, but I usually go with Live, as in LIVing.

Let's see: Sims 1 was awesome, but now is really dated, and build mode is limited and obnoxious to use. Sims 2 is a fantastic game but it's so buggy and prone to save corruption. Sims 3 Would be the best, due to the open world and so many fun lifestates, if you didn't had to wait an eternity and a half for it to load. Also, Twilight sparkly vampires. Ew. I kinda like Sims 4 the best, not only it has the best versions of lifestates (maybe except the furry-ass werewolves), but also the Best QoL improvements to CAS and Build mode. Give it some time, and I think it will be the best sims game ever.

Sadly, no.

It really didn't change much, except I rarely now deliberately kill my sims, as I get attached to my pixel dolls. Back in my TS1 days I would torture my sims in the most fun ways.

Just like a bag of chips, I keep taking handfuls of this level when I am well aware I should stop and take a break. It's the perfect junk food level: it looks hard but it isn't, it looks messy but it's very intentional, it's short enough you can just keep taking bites, and it's got a nice variety of simple flavors -- such as gatling, laser, and your classic zap, along with some sprinklings of mines. It's one of those simple levels I just can't stop playing. Om nom nom.

Day 1 - envoy - G - Mogren + Altani
Summary: Mogren thinks about how Altani has to lie for them.
--
“I don’t want to do this, Mogren. What if they see right through me? How can I get out of this?”
“Well…” The moogle’s pom swayed to and fro as they thought of other options.
Swish.
Swish.
Swish.
“I'm sure you'll do great, but the obvious alternative, kupo, is that we tell them--”
--”No!” was the squawked out reply, quicker than a flap of Mogren’s wings. She offered no further verbal argument, but the glare told them they would do best not to contend with her.
Sharp, forceful, final.
Their friend would not allow even the idea to pass through either of their lips. Their fluffy little body was fit to burst with the affection that swelled at that. So protective, even at such a young age!
They’d come up with the plan together after much brainstorming. Days on end, and this was it. Altani was going to fool her village into believing she could communicate with the dead, the next chosen medium after a dry spell of several generations since the last had passed.
All so Mogren could go on hanging out with Altani without rousing suspicion. Befriending a member of a beast tribe certainly wouldn't do, after all. Moogles weren't supposed to exist anymore, the thing of myth.
The villagers’ sharp hearing and superstitious nature had taken Altani’s half of their conversation out of context, and come to some very wrong conclusions, which, in the end, was all the best for Mogren. If the child were deemed the next inheritor of the gift of spirit-talking, then Mogren could be written off as a simple ghost. A far-past, distant relative that Altani had befriended when coming into her nascent powers. They could stay hidden, but still converse with their friend, the village none the wiser to the truth and accepting of Altani running off to play with the dead.
It was a lot of pressure to put on a child who hadn’t even gone through puberty yet, though. A risk and a secret that would only collect weight as the winters pass. All of it for the sake of Mogren, for their continued friendship. Selfish, really. They’d been told to stay hidden from society, and they had! For the most part. One au ra child excluded, of course. They had been the one to muck it up, helping the girl out after she'd saved their fuzzy butt from a gruesome fate by some wavekin. Should've left it at that, disappearing and letting the girl believe it was all her imagination, instead of luring Altani into friendship over the past few seasons, and then convincing her to keep up conversation even as they got too close to the village and they knew how risky it could be--
And now this kid was paying the price.
She had never blamed them, not once. When the village rebutted every of her excuses and insisted on their own conclusions--a new priestess, such cause for celebration! Finally we may converse with our dead loved ones and receive the wisdom of generations past!--she had gone along with it rather than reveal the true identity of the person she’d been speaking to. The forbidden friendship.
Altani’s friendship had been delightful thus far, and Mogren could imagine it only strengthening over the years… They had big plans! To teach her some instruments, how to tell the best stories, how to hold her alcohol (a ways off from that one, but Mogren was patient)... if their current plan worked first.
They would do everything in their power to make sure Altani passed the trials her village elder put forth to determine if her powers were true. She was going to become a formidable medium, even if it involved weaving lies faster than a lominsan pirate could chug a pint of ale.
“It’s the best chance we’ve got, kupo. I’ll help you cheat!”
Altani sat back, letting out a loud sigh. “Never really done that before, y’know.” She liked to go through life with her own strength, her own skill. The idea of cheating at something to win made her feel icky. Not as icky as of the idea of Mogren getting caught, attacked, or at least banished from ever seeing her again, though. She couldn’t bear that!
So she’d surely get over cheating and lying, she had to. It would get easier with time.
“I’ll do the heavy lifting, you just have to memorize the answers.” A simple execution for sure.
Reconnaissance had revealed the tribe's elder had a scroll that was passed down from leader to leader for decades, revealing the process for appointing a new priestess. Among those notes were the guiding questions that would offer proof. Facts about the long deceased that nobody alive would remember anymore, but were recorded for the sake of this test. Answers Altani would know if she could actually communicate with the dead.
She laughed, perhaps the tiniest bit of manic energy tinging the edges. Maybe it really would be that simple. Remember what to say. Pretend, like it's a game, and not a job interview for life, one that would change her village's view of her forever and determine if she could keep her only friend or not.
“Right. It's just studying for a test. The final exam of ‘Envoy of the Dead: an Introduction’, and one I’ll pass with flying colors. No big deal!” The forced optimism was so strong it circled back to sounding panicked. Her grin looked scared rather than self assured, must be why Mogren flinched.
“We’ll have to work on that confidence of yours, kupo. But that's the spirit!” A lot of practice. That’s all it would take. No big deal indeed. Mogren would drill those answers into her until that scroll was memorized from beginning to end.
After everything, they’d get through it together, just one of many trials in their life. Something they could look back on and laugh about one day.

Some of dean’s biggest crimes / worst decisions, words and action-wise, tend to spawn from when he’s been blindsided and has no clue what tf is going on. Often he doesn’t have all the facts, he’ll be pitted and cornered, and comes to hasty conclusions esp when time is of the essence, acting as the decision-maker he’s had to become over the years, growing up. But then the problem is that he doesn’t realize that he doesn’t need to do that all the time. And that continuing to act that way can be very damaging to himself and those he cares about.
Some examples include soulless sam, the gadreel-possession arc, agreeing to the moc (despite NOT knowing what these vague ‘consequences’ are), his treatment of Jack in early s13 (literal widower just. reacting. to everything and trying/failing to wrap his head around that what they were building up to all during s12 was untrue, and unlearning that, and that Jack is just a kid, who is also an adult somehow, and capable of good!), Dean saying yes to Michael in s13 finale, and of course the divorce arc in late s14/ early s15.
Things happen, Dean didn’t have any actual planned involvement in the things that occurred, like they either occurred behind his back ,or he was cornered into making the best decision he could (whether or not it was ‘right’ or ‘wrong’):
1) Dean asking Death to save Sam’s soul from the cage and have it be returned to his brother, despite being told this could be extremely damaging to him. This due in response to him not knowing that Cas had half-assedly resurrected Sam in s6 without his soul, while Sam’s soul was still getting tortured in hell!!) (a whole other post to be made on that)
2) Gadreel offering to save Sam in 09x01, and Dean taking him up on it, remembering how messed up Sam was and how he didn’t think he deserved to continue to live in a world where he kept fucking up /disappointing his brother, etc. Giving Sam a chance to heal and wanting to tell him at every opportunity he could about the angel possession, but then getting blackmailed by Gadreel into staying quiet, else RIP Sam once again.
3) Dean getting manipulated by Crowley and Cain into agreeing to take on the moc despite not knowing anything about it because he always deals with consequences which he can deal with later, of course!!
4) Cas straight up getting killed in front of Dean’s eyes and him having Zero time to actually mourn properly without getting his world turned upside down by having a kid thrown in his lap, which up until a few episodes ago the plan for everyone had been to kill Jack!
5) Not seeing any other way other than to agree to let AU Michael possess him in order to save both Jack and Sam from Lucifer, resulting in new-brand “michael monsters” who are impervious to regular attacks and then of course Dean not being able to fend off Michael from within aka Michael would be left to roam free and take control of a second earth.
6) Sam and Rowena were off doing one thing in 15x03, Cas and Belphegor were down in Hell (they should NOT have been paired together. Jack was their kid and shouldn’t have been solely paired with any one of them ESP!! not Cas, considering his outright vocalization of the absolute heinousness of Belphegor possessing Jack’s corpse, he is an abomination, Cas can’t even look at him. absolute Dean crimes 100%) - while Dean was waiting by the rupture. The plan with Belphegor fails bc he was evil and a demon, duh, he had his own agenda. This causes Rowena and Sam to take on alternate measures, aka Rowena dies. They all come back together and Dean is again, blindsided. Wtf.
-- The plan changed and now Rowena is dead?! That could have been avoidable , he wants to think. But he doesn’t know. He just wasn’t there. - And this is absolutely terrifying for his need to control his surroundings, he feels like if he had been there, if he had been able to be know what was going on, that there could have been a different outcome. And that’s where he’s wrong, because how can we ever know that?
He often says and does things that he feels deeply he knows isn’t right. But he doesn’t know what else is. And then Dean crimes ensue.
