I feel like 13x23 Lucifer making Jack decide who lives could've been a cool concept if they'd actually gone through with it. Maybe after consuming Jack's grace, Lucifer is powerful enough to resurrect someone without their body to start with. Maybe he resurrects Kelly Kline; kidnaps her, Mary, and Jack; and forces Jack to choose which one gets to live or he'll kill them both.

Kelly is confused and terrified, begging Jack to save her. Mary is also terrified, but she tells Jack it's alright, she understands. Jack pleads with Lucifer to let them go, to kill him instead. He's beside himself, but Lucifer is unmoved. Lucifer starts counting down and in the last second, Jack blurts out Mary's name.

And we can still have Winchester ex machina in this scenario. I think this whole concept is more compelling if Mary and Kelly do both survive and Kelly has to process the fact that her son chose "a stranger" over her.

well, carry on my wayward son has lost pretty all of its emotional punch that it once had for me back in the early seasons.

the moment we see sam in front of the corkboard and "the ice caps are melting" i felt like i was going to combust. what is this nonsense. our-earth 101 catching them up to speed even though we're just here to regroup and arm up before a showdown with michael? and how long was the apocalypse apocalypsing over there? longer than it would have without the boys to stop it in 2010 or whatever? mortifying. i fast forwarded. i don't need the spn cliffs notes on awful things here too
