James Potter x reader day one of the christmas advent calendar words; 849 warnings; none this one is so sweet :) also it's december finally, literally the best month of the year and my birthday (which is christmas on the dot)

‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’ played softly as I entered the Lupin homestead. I smiled as I shrugged off my scarf and coat, gently placing them on the coat rack before walking into the living room.

“Oh, Y/n! You made it!” Lily said happily, leaving the warm side of her boyfriend to give me a tight hug. 

“Lily! I’ve missed you.” I responded, hugging her back just as tight.

“Me too, it’s been ages since we’ve last seen each other, hasn’t it?” She asked and I opened my mouth to answer, but was cut off as a large black dog came running into the living room, a dripping spatula caught between its teeth.

Remus ran in after Sirius, “Sirius! Enough, give me back the spatula. Dogs can’t have chocolate, idiot!”

Sirius transformed into his human self, “Well then, it’s a good thing I’m not a dog then, isn’t it?” He looked over to me and licked the spatula. “‘Ello, love, how have you been doing?”

I snorted and pulled him into a hug, “Quite well, if I must say. And you?”

He winked, “I’ve been great. Having a place with your boyfriend, just your boyfriend, is great. If you know what I mean.” I shook my head as I gave Remus a hug, mumbling quiet hello’s to each other.

“Gross.” Peter said, walking out of the kitchen, wearing the most hideous, wretched Christmas sweater I’ve ever seen.

I raised my eyebrows, “Wow, Peter, you really took the ugly part seriously.”

“It’s not ugly, what do you mean?” Peter’s girlfriend, Amanda (sorry to the Amanda’s) piped up and I refrained from rolling my eyes.

“Amanda, you’re here.” I said with a fake smile.

She looked me up and down and grimaced. “I am. For some reason.” She mumbled at the end, walking back into the kitchen. I made eye contact with Lily and she rolled her eyes at her antics.

Everyone retreated to the kitchen as I set my purse down on the coffee table and smiled at the large Christmas tree.

“Everyone gets a hi but me, huh?” I jumped as a voice sounded from behind me.

I turned around, “James. Hi.” 

He smiled and pulled me into a hug. “Hello, how have been, love?” He asked softly.

“I’ve been good, how about you?”

“Much better now that you’re in front of me.” He said, taking a step to the side and bringing me with him.

I looked into his eyes as he kept nudging us gently, “What are you doing?”

“What do you mean?”

“Why are you moving us?”

“Am I moving us?”

I glanced to the side and laughed, taking a step back before we got underneath the mistletoe.

“Not a chance, Potter.” I said smugly, walking past him and into the kitchen with everyone else.

“I’ll get you tonight, L/n.” He called after me and I shook my head.

The oven dinged and Sirius gasped excitedly.

“The cookies!” He exclaimed, jumping up and running to the oven.

Remus shot up, “Sirius, no, you’ll-” Sirius yelped in shock as he burned his finger. Remus sighed, “Burn yourself. Come here.” 

I carefully took the cookies from the oven and Remus bandaged up Sirius’ burn. I closed my eyes and inhaled deeply, savoring the sweet smell of the fresh cookies.

“They smell delicious.” I said as I set them on top of the pot holder on the counter. “You did great, Remus.”

He smiled at me, “Thank you.”

“Y/n, come here.” James said, beckoning me over to the doorway.

I shook my head as I took the mittens off, “Nope.” I said as I muttered a cooling spell on the cookies and carefully picked one up.

“Please?” He said. I smiled and walked over, shoving a cookie in his mouth before he could conjure a mistletoe.

I booped his nose as he ate the cookie, defeated. “Stop trying to get me to walk under a mistletoe.”

A few candy cane shots later and everyone was up dancing to ‘Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree’. A hand grabbed mine and spun me around as I laughed loudly. James put his other hand on my waist as we swirled and swayed. I failed to notice the way he was gently moving us over, step by step. Eventually, the song ended and a softer one came on as everyone calmed down.

James cleared his throat, “Well, what a coincidence.”

I looked at his face, humming in question before my eyes caught the shimmering of a crystal. I looked up and my heart beat rapidly in my chest as I stared at the mistletoe.

“We can’t break tradition.” He whispered and my eyes met his.

“You’re an ass.” I whispered back before smashing my lips against his. His arm snaked around my waist and bent me backwards slightly as my hand made its way on his cheek. It was nothing short of magical, literally.

“We should go on a date.” He said breathlessly once we pulled away.

I smiled and placed a small kiss on his lips. “If you’re lucky.”

4th Advent - Celebrating Christmas with the marauders

Masterlists Pairing: Poly!marauders x reader (James x Sirius x Remus x you) Warnings: Christmas(?) otherwise, none Wordcount: 1190 Summary: Celebrating Christmas with the marauders, opening presents and cuddling.

“Merry Christmas, love!” James caught you in his arms just before you took the last step down the stairs. He picked you and spun you around before pressing a sweet kiss to your lips. You buried your hands in his hair and enjoyed the warmth he spread throughout your body and the feeling of his gentle lips against yours. You eventually pulled away and settled for burying your face against his neck, holding him close. James let out a long sight and you felt him relax against you. 

Soon Sirius and Remus came down the stairs too. Sirius joined the hug while Remus settled for a peck on each of your lips before heading into the kitchen to get started on breakfast. You, James and Sirius soon joined him, putting on tea and coffee, baking some scones and setting the table. When everything was put on the table you all sat down and enjoyed breakfast. It was a cozy Christmas morning with snow falling outside the windows. You caught Remus' loving gaze from over his steaming cup of tea and you watched with love how James happily made everyone’s scones just as you all like it. 

“Here you go, love,” James placed your plate with a scone on it in front of you and you smiled in thanks. Sirius had already finished his breakfast when the rest of you were halfway done so he started to put away the things you didn’t want and he did the dishes he could. The rest of you were done at the same time and you all helped Sirius with the rest of the kitchen cleaning that was left. Then James pulled you all away to the living room where the christmas tree stood with all the presents underneath. You all sat down around the tree, taking turns in giving out your presents to each other. Sirius insisted on going first.

“I just want to see your reaction to it,” he laughed as he gave it to you. 

“Should I be scared?” you joked but took the present nonetheless and began peeling the paper off. Inside was a book with golden text on the cover. ‘My heart in a book’ it read and when you flipped it open you were met with pages and pages of pictures of the four of you along with small notes and letters he’d written you. Tears gathered in your eyes and you flung yourself into the arm of Sirius Black and  you never wanted to let go. 

“I take it you like it?” His words were muffled by your hair but you nodded and hugged him a bit tighter if that was even possible. You knew he’d given books like that to Remus and James but they’d been together far longer than you had and you knew that these books were a big thing for Sirius. 

“Thank you. So much. I love you, you know?” You pressed a kiss to the side of his head and Sirius nodded an answer. “Yeah, I know. I love you too.” You both pulled away from each other and you sat down on your previous spot. 

“Remus, my first one’s for you,” you plucked it from the pile and handed it over to him. YYou’d gotten him a new journal since you’d noticed his was starting to run out of empty pages. He almost never showed any of you what he wrote in it but you knew it meant a lot to him so you’d gotten him a custom made one with your animal’s footprints on the cover. He smiled at the thoughtful gift, pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead and thanked you sincerely. You smiled at him and mumbled an “of course” in return. 

Remus went next and gave a present to James who smiled a broad smile and tore open the paper. Inside was a book with his mom’s recipes. James’ parents had both passed not even a year ago and you all knew James missed them terribly. He’d also recently gotten into cooking more so this present was from all of you. You’d all helped gather the recipes and Sirius had written them down since his penmanship was the best out of the three of you. You and Remus had bound the book together and you’d painted small pictures for every page. 

James flipped through it and tears started to fall from his eyes when he saw what it was. You were first to gather him up in your arms and he wrapped his arms around you, pulling you into him and he started thanking all of you immensely for the gift. He gathered himself again and you gently dried the tears from his cheeks. He gave you a thankful but weak smile. 

“Phew, okay. Let’s get on with it,” he laughed through the tears and pulled out another present from under the tree. “This one’s for you, Pads.”

Sirius took it from him and opened it with great care. James had gifted him a camera and a light lit up in Sirius’ eyes when he saw what it was. He’d been talking about getting into photography for almost half a year but he’d never gotten the time to even get himself a camera. 

“Thank you, Prongs! This is perfect!” His smile was wide and you couldn’t help but smile with him at the sight of him so happy. He stood up and backed away a bit, raising the camera to his eyes.

“Can you three scoot a bit closer together? I need my first photo to be of you three.”

You saw how Remus practically melted at his comment but did as he was asked and pulled you into his side. You dragged James with you so you were pressed between them. Sirius counted and on three you all smiled lovingly and Sirius captured it. He looked at it for a while, still smiling like crazy.

“It will probably be the most beautiful photo I’ll ever take,” he mumbled. At that James got up and kissed him. 

When you all had settled down again you gave out the rest of the presents. You’d gotten Sirius a new pair of earrings too and Remus gifted him a roll of empty film for when the first one in the camera got full. James and Remus had gotten you new paint and a new sketchbook. James got some other kitchen supplies and a new blanket. Sirius got Remus a pair of knitted jumpers and a pack of fluffy socks. When all the presents were opened you gathered the present paper and threw it away, cleaning up after yourselves and then settled down in a cuddling heap on the couch. 

Remus made all of you hot chocolate and Sirius put on a movie. Snow was still falling outside the windows when you let yourself fall into Sirius’ arms, letting your feet rest in James’ lap and Remus snuggled into James’ side, holding his cup in his sweater clad hands. It wasn’t a very luxurious Christmas day but it was spent with your favorite people so what more could you ask for?

I do kinda wonder, considdering how much Luffy hates being alone... On those first levels of Impel Down, did Luffy stick to Buggy as if they had been glued together, not because he trusted the clown (let alone liked him), but because Luffy hates being alone and being with Buggy meant he wouldn't be alone?

Like think about it, Luffy didn't give a damn when he ran into Buggy, it wasn't a Happy Reunion like it was with Bon-chan

"Oh, it's Buggy" vs "You're alive!!"

And while we know Luffy is at least A Little Stupid, Luffy does have pretty good instincts when it comes to making judgements about people, and he has emotional intelligence when needed So between Luffy not really liking Buggy when they reunited in Impel Down, and Luffy even currently thinking Buggy is a loser, it seems unlikely to me Luffy like, wanted to team up with Buggy when they ran into each other. But Luffy did understand he'd have a hard time getting to the bottom of Impel Down by himself, and he knew Buggy would be mostly harmless in this situation. If anything, the clown could maybe help him along the way, even if only a little. And yeah, at least he wouldn't have to be alone if Buggy came along.

I think that might be why Luffy decided to give the treasure map to Buggy

Like yes, Luffy may have been naïve to think Buggy wouldn't ditch him as soon as he got the map instead of keeping his end of the deal, but also. Maybe for Luffy the risk of getting ditched was a better option than not trying and being alone anyways.

Maybe Luffy chose to give the map to Buggy because of that, so he wouldn't be stuck alone.
