I will sue Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg $100,000,000+ for collecting data and post blocking Facebook jail, They will never hear the truth, and I’ve been on there since 2008 and still keep making new accounts to avoid days to get blocked.

Meta Platforms Inc plans to end access to news on Facebook and Instagram for all users in Canada once a parliament-approved legislation requiring internet giants to pay news publishers comes into effect, the company said on Thursday.
The legislation, known as the Online News Act, was approved by the Senate upper chamber earlier on Thursday and will become law after receiving royal assent from the governor general, a formality.
The legislation was proposed after complaints from Canada’s media industry, which wants tighter regulation of tech companies to prevent them from elbowing news businesses out of the online advertising market.
“Today, we are confirming that news availability will be ended on Facebook and Instagram for all users in Canada prior to the Online News Act taking effect,” Meta said in a statement.
Facebook had telegraphed such a move for weeks, saying news has no economic value to the company and that its users do not use the platform for news. [...]

DOES YOUR FAVORITE movie star or pop singer really love the Kremlin? Though the ads in your Facebook feed may lead you to believe such a thing, it’s just not true. In recent months, a major disinformation campaign has run rampant on Meta and X (aka Facebook and Twitter). The campaign uses fake ads that show existing photos of extremely famous celebrities—Beyoncé, Oprah, Justin Bieber, Shakira, Cristiano Ronaldo—which have been doctored with fake quotes that back Russia and criticize Ukraine.
The campaign, which is still in progress, was perpetrated by a pre-Kremlin group known as Doppelganger. Information shared exclusively with WIRED has also linked this disinformation campaign to Russia’s GRU military spy agency.

STOP! Seen something online that makes you angry?
Step 1: STOP! don't react just yet, the person who posted the content will likely profit from any engagement that you give them. positive or negative.
Step 2: THINK! does this content merit my time or engagement? or even to potentially ruin my mood? If your curiosity is peaked too far and you feel like watching then proceed to step 3.
IF YOU DECIDE TO CLICK AWAY FROM THE CONTENT WITHOUT FURTHER ENGAGEMENT, PLEASE ENJOY THE REST OF YOUR DAY.
Step 3: INVESTIGATE. if the video contains some of the following, it is likely faked or manipulated to use your emotions, and gain your engagement for profit:
Does the title use algorithm buzzwords like "woke" "MRA" "Karren" with words like, "humbled" "owned" and "speechless"
The content is too perfectly rage-inducing or controversial
too good set up for angles and lighting
there was no reason for them to be filming at the time the clip was taken.
The person being filmed is acting oblivious to the camera
cuts and edits can sometimes be seen
people are over-reacting or underreacting, or dialogue seems too perfect using popular "buzz words" that are not commonly used in spoken language.
the creator often posts similar content, like the scenarios they face are a common problem in their life.
Step 4: CLICK AWAY and/or REPORT if you have a genuine problem with the content of the video or post you have seen, DO NOT engage with the poster or the comment section, report the post under whatever reportable category it fits under. not only do you not give engagement to baiters, but you are also helping tidy up the internet of this garbage.

Ignoring an issue is not the same as an issue being nonexistent
tumblr has a thriving radfem/TERF/transphobia scene like twitter
tumblr posts spread conspiracies and disinformation like tiktoks
tumblr users share fake news and misinformation like facebook users
Assuming these issues don't exist on tumblr because you haven't (to your knowledge) seen them does not mean they don't exist. In fact it makes you more vulnerable to falling victim to believing misinformation and being radicalised because you've internalised a sense of security and superiority.
Tumblr is not an inherently better or smarter platform than any other. You can and inevitably will be exposed to these things even here.
Drop the superiority complex and learn about how to actually protect yourself from falling for misinformation, because being on tumblr does not automatically protect you.

Ma quando la smetterete di credere alle bufale che volano sui social di post in post?
15 anni di fandonie su Facebook postate su Facebook da persone che annunciano che si stanno disattivando da Facebook, ma sono sempre là.

from 11/30/23 AP News article...
"...The network of nearly 4,800 fake accounts was attempting to build an audience when it was identified and eliminated by the tech company, which owns Facebook and Instagram. The accounts sported fake photos, names and locations as a way to appear like everyday American Facebook users weighing in on political issues.
Instead of spreading fake content as other networks have done, the accounts were used to reshare posts from X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, that were created by politicians, news outlets and others. The interconnected accounts pulled content from both liberal and conservative sources, an indication that its goal was not to support one side or the other but to exaggerate partisan divisions and further inflame polarization...."
gee, wonder what musk has to say about this
