My phobias are WEIRD because people can understand that I'm scared of thunder, especially with sensory issues.

They GET why I'm scared of bugs, why I might have a phobia of them.

but. Crabs. People do NOT understand my fear of crabs. Kabourophobia and Ostraconophobia are RARE AF and when I tell people I'm scared of crabs they are SHOCKED. Sometimes they don't even really believe it, like "really?? All crabs?? And shrimp too?? What about drawings?? What if they have a silly hat??"

YES ALL OF THEM ALL THE TIME, and all crustations to some degree but MOSTLY crabs, crabs can be panic attack inducing and crabs make me CRY AND SOB. I do not care if the crab has a silly hat. Good for him!!! I cannot cannot CANNOT handle a crab. Not even one. If there is a single crab in the building I am breaking down. I won't come over to your house if you have a pet crab. Maybee a small one is okay if you keep it locked up but I'll still be on edge the whole time so like it's either my place or you're sending the crab to someone else to babysit I CANNOT do crabs. Terrified of crabs.

*edit - as for drawings or plushies, it really depends. Sometimes a drawing is okay and other times it is NOT.
