summary: your confession to hapi doesn't go as planned...

your words echoed through hapi's head. 

"i love you"

before now, she had never seen you that way. she never really thought much about it when you complimented her or teased her. but perhaps she had just been ignoring the signals. 

now that hapi knew how you felt about her, how did she feel about you?

she loved being your friend, so much that it made her question if she might want a little bit more than just being your friend. but it wouldn't be fair to you to get together with you on a hunch, only to later realize she didn't feel the same way about you. hapi didn't want to toy with your feelings. you didn't deserve that. 

"i'm sorry…"

hapi could see in your eyes that you knew what those words meant. what would come next. 

"i don't feel that way about you. you're my friend and i don't want to give you any false hope…"

you smiled, before sighing softly. 

"don't worry. i'm glad you were being so upfront about it, hapi… i just hope this doesn't change things between us"

hapi shook her head.
