Kisame: How’s it going in here?
Konan, carefully decorating the top of a cake with sticks of dango: Great! This cake turned out better than I expected! Are you going to start on the main course now?
Kisame: As soon as Hidan , Tobi and Deidara get back with the goods. But there’s no rush for it; on his birthday Itachi likes to have dessert before dinner, and by the time everyone’s through with that cake my stuff will be ready to go.
*Hidan and Deidara walk through the door*
Deidara: We’re back, hm. Is red-eyes here yet?
Konan: Not yet. Have you got what we asked for?
Hidan: Yeah; they’re all out behind the shed.
Kisame: Oh, good. I … wait, why are they outside?
Hidan: You know that fucker Nagato made a rule about me bringin’ dead bodies into our hideouts!
Kisame and Konan:
Kisame: Dead bodies??
Deidara: Yeah, hm. You said to get as many heads as we could to surprise him, right? We got like a dozen so far!
Kisame:
Kisame: … cabbage. Heads. Of. Cabbage. I said to get as many heads of CABBAGE as you could because it’s Itachi’s favorite food and I wanted to make him cabbage spring rolls and a nice soup!
Hidan: I —
*Tobi walks in with his arms full of cabbage*
Tobi: Don’t worry; Tobi has a lot!
Deidara: Wait … Tobi you KNEW that he meant cabbage?!
Tobi: Yep!
Hidan: And you let me use my scythe on all those people anyway??
Tobi: Yep!
Deidara: But … why?!
Tobi, in Obito voice: You all wouldn’t let me help make the damn cake … I had to get my entertainment somehow.

Tobi: No way, Konan-chan! Tobi doesn’t want to get blown up! Itachi-san should do it; Senpai already doesn’t like him, so it won’t matter if he gets mad or not …
Itachi: I still don’t see the issue.
Konan: With those eyes, of course you don’t see an issue, Itachi! Fine, I guess this falls on me —
*Konan raises her hand to knock when the door is suddenly pulled open by Deidara, looking annoyed*
Deidara: I have ears, you know. I can hear you guys out here talking. What do you want, hm?!
Konan: It’s … well …
Itachi, bluntly: These two have an issue with your wearing that makeup.
Deidara: Seriously? I thought that our organization was a little more progressive than this, hm! Show me a written law that says that men can’t wear makeup!! You can’t, because one doesn’t exist! I have the right to —
Tobi: Senpai, that’s not the issue. We don’t care that you wear makeup!
Konan: We care that you’re wearing it wrong.
Deidara: … Wrong?
Tobi, taking off his mask and leaning close, in Obito voice: Look at my face. You see how my foundation is blended so well that you can’t hardly tell I have it on? Thats how it’s supposed to look, not all splotchy and erratic like yours.
Konan: And you need a better mascara. Your lashes should be lifted and separated, not all clumpy.
Itachi: Your eyeliner is nearly perfect in application, BUT you should consider switching to a waterproof brand. When you sweat your eyes start to look like raccoon eyes.
Konan: C’mon guys, let’s go to our rooms and get our gear. It’s more than time we gave our youngest member a good tutorial!
*Konan and the two boys run off*
Deidara:
Deidara: … I don’t know whether to be offended or excited, hm …

Some time ago I've seen that official art for Naruto event, where everyone were dressed in clothes with some flower prints, and each character had its unique flower. I was just curious and wanted to know more about Sasori's and Deidara's, what is their meaning (maybe find some hidden symbolism?) and... you know, I think this could be really interesting, so I want to share some random facts with you, guys
Deidara — Epiphyllum
Epiphyllum language is the beauty of the moment, how eternity lies in small moments. People often use it to describe the beautiful and short-lived things.
The flower has an extremely short lifespan. It blooms rarely (usually once a year) and only at night, and then will die by the next morning. Therefore, people commonly used the blooming epiphyllum as a metaphor for how good things don't last. On the other hand, because of this rarity, it's also a sign of luckiness for those who see its bloom.
The epiphyllum flower is generally considered the symbol of admiration, patience, and good spirits as a result of the interesting qualities that it possesses.
Sasori — Camellia
Flower symbolism originated in ancient times, and was often associated with deities. The camellia flower symbolize refinement, perfection, and faithfulness.
The calyx of the camellia falls with the petals when the flower has finished blooming. This is unlike most other flowers, where the calyx seems to hang around the tree even after the petals have dropped. This phenomena made the camellia flower meaning a symbol of everlasting union between lovers, so this flower is often seen in weddings. White camellias can also symbolize platonic affection, admiration and respect.
However, in Japan, white camellias are thought to bring bad luck because they are associated with death. Therefore, they’re popular funeral flowers.
Camellias are significant for Buddhist priests. The reason is that the blossom sends a message of supremacy, freedom, new beginnings, and the triumph of the spiritual over the material.
I can clearly see some references (esp. with Deidara) to the personalities, philosophies and outlook on life of these characters. Let me know what do you think (¬◡¬)
