If I had a nickel for every time Katie McGrath played a character who... was adopted at a young age by a rich and powerful family with a prejudice against anyone not strictly human, (that she later rebelled against, wanting her abilities to be recognized as a force for good), had a brother who was the clear golden child who she was close with as kids only to later grow apart due to irreconcilable moral and political differences, had her adoptive father be revealed to be her biological father, had sapphic vibes with a woman who she was close with in her youth (who later went on to lead an empire) before an apparent betrayal soured the friendship, had a close friendship (with major romantic undertones from day 1) with someone who hid their special abilities from her, resulting in a massive feeling of betrayal and a turn to the dark side, discovered as an adult that a close female relative she never knew is in fact a witch - and that she is also a witch...
I’d have two nickels.
Which isn’t much, but it’s weird it happened twice

gojo satoru x f!reader -> hate sex
event masterlist
Tumblr media
summary: you were the second strongest sorcerer to exist, always having tosses and turns against gojo satoru until the latter just sees you losing yourself to powers a little and decides to transform your ‘pulling each other’s leg’ relationship into something more.
warnings: roasting, both us and satoru are just talking shit about each other. <3 semi-public sex, talking about curses and cursed energy, implied degradation. dub!con-> consentual but not specifically talked about. lemme know if i missed anything (not beta’d we die like suguru) :(
a/n: guys i got carried awayyyyy lmaooo 😭 i was too busy giving this a build up tbh i wanted to make this a chapterwise slow burn story instead so i wasnt even wanting to let them fuck kekeke 🤭 i hope yall enjoy it mwah 💋
there was one thing which had been thoroughly consistent in your career as a sorcerer, which was satoru gojo’s intervention. despite trying your hardest, he would manifest himself near you in some form or the other. it also made sense since he was basically the god of the sorcerer community with powers and roots of his clan spreading across. the solo head of the gojo family, their fortunes, the strongest, arrogant — pathetically cocky man that lumes his presence near you more times than you’d like it to.
“the brat has eaten a finger, i don’t see the point of not exorcising and killing him.” one of the higher ups commented in the meeting where all the sorcerers were invited, even the scarce special grades. “i don’t see why he should be killed? sukuna’s vessel is something we can take advantage of. we can ensure the curse dies when he has swallowed all of the fingers.” gojo commented back, it was not something anyone could deny or go against. his tone was a threat enough.
you could agree to this, but not having tried something like this makes you antsy. “and who will take responsibility?” you raised a brow. glancing at the blind-folded man who was smirking with ease. “why me of course. unless— you wanna be a disappointment and try this yourself.”
in the jujutsu community, you were a well established prodigy, second to only gojo satoru. stronger than yuuta, stronger than any of them. but still— ‘second to gojo satoru’ oh well, that comment had a hard burn. you wouldn’t back down either.
“nah, being a nanny suits you. i haven’t forgotten the brat from the zenin clan after all.” gojo hated when anyone brought up what megumi’s fate could be… but you couldn’t care less. that’d shut him up.
“come on, don’t be like that y/n chan! you don’t have an ounce of motherly instincts. do the world a favor and don’t have kids.” he chuckled, murmuring under his breath. “not that you’d get a chance to with a face like that.”
the people in the meeting were stunned, they were usually quite used to the fact that you and satoru throw jabs at each other at any moment necessary. “do us a favor too. stop making any woman you see a mother and tone the thirst down? the last thing i wanna see is more of you because you couldn’t keep it in your pants.”
“SILENCE!” the higher ups roared, and satoru giggled, leaning back against the wall. this could continue down further. but this isn’t the right time. you rolled your eyes again. ah well, if he is willing to take the responsibility it is all good.
when the meeting ended, you were the first one to leave. meetings with the higher ups were always draining. more than the actual curses. your powers were the complete opposite of satoru. you could absorb curse energies. like a black hole. radiating them back when needed. that made you go the through insurmountable negativity but it was powerful nonetheless. gojo’s infinity could also pose no problems for you to break into. but satoru gojo had infinite curse energy and you were a sponge. interesting…
“why are your panties in a twist?” satoru asked you, looming in front of you too close. “personal space?” you scoffed, leaning back. “awh, pErSoNaL sPaCe” satoru chuckles, “don’t tell me you really think i don’t see through your false pretentious ass.” he leaned in again, ugh— shameless.
“the problem with you is you think it’s impossible for women to not fall over your dick.” you smiled back, a sarcastic, annoyed smile. “well, it is impossible —” he shrugs, as if it was a matter of fact thing.
you are not dumb, you admit that he is ethereal. he is beautiful & perhaps the prettiest man ever. you’re also too prideful to say it to his face, ever. satoru— does the opposite, he finds you so pretty he can’t act right around you. so he irritates you for your attention.
things went by a swing when you suddenly got a call from ichiji. your conversation with him left discontinued. you were busy with missions & he was busy, mentoring yuuji, megumi & nobara. you knew that there are new first years in tokyo university & the vessel was one of them. gakuganji from kyoto tech: where you worked and reported, asked you to go have a glance, check up on the first years.
you entered the university of jujutsu tokyo, walking towards the ground where maki, panda and the kids were there. you knew satoru was nearby, his curse energy presence is loud & clear. perhaps as a silent way of keeping threats off the campus. “y/n san!” maki smirked, walking towards you and launching the exact attack that you taught her, you smiled, proud. “you have perfected it! wow!”
“salmon.” inumaki hummed, while nobara & yuuji curiously asked megumi about you.
yuuji: who’s she? she’s pretty! naa~ fushiguro?
megumi: that’s y/n. a special grade sorcerer. like gojo sensei.
megumi keeps your introduction brief & curt. “what? so cool! she must be insanely strong! is she stronger than gojo sensei?”
“don’t kid me yuuji kun, no one is stronger than me.” gojo’s voice echoed as he came down the stairs. while you were hearing their conversation too, you didn’t deem it necessary to step in. unlike— someone.
“ah, y/n chan! ohayo!” satoru waved his hand at you, grinning. you smiled back, all fake, “ohayo megumi chan! ohayo yuuji, ohayo nobara!” oh god you make him wanna pin you against the nearest wall and devour you until your sass is gone.
yuuji awkwardly whispers to megumi, “they don’t like each other huh?” megumi whispere back, “not one bit.”
“jaa~ why are you here?” satoru asked, raising a brow and tone turning serious, hinting he meant business. “just you know, wanted to meet the students” you smirked, and even though satoru knows exactly who sent you here, he trusts you enough. “o-kkay!” he grins, teleporting beside you and whispering gravely in your ear. “any reason why you look extra pretty today?” the compliment sent shivers down your spine. “maybe you haven’t gotten laid in a while” you roll your eyes, emboldening your response. no way you’ll be acting coy hmph!
the rest of the day passed by in a haze, where you were talking to yaga and satoru & you were being a nuisance to each other. then…. yuuji’s death happened & you got to know higher ups were behind it. insurmountable rage flew through every single artery of yours as disappointment overtook you. the community was rotten & you know satoru would’ve been adversely affected by the news of yuuji’s death. even so, you didn’t want to pose a bothersome presence when he was necessarily plotting a plan to kill the higher ups.
the next thing was the curses attacking the jujutsu grounds, yuuji was alive & there was a baseball tournament satoru sneakily organized. things seemed alright. only you were busy tracking hanami & mahito. of course you were accompanied by nanami throughout.
the next meet with satoru was coincidental, he was assigned a mission in korea along with you, and you both met at the tokyo airport. “areh~ y/n chan!” he beamed, walking towards you where your lack of reaction concerned him. you had been— a menace these last few months. curses had been falling and you have been absorbing their energies. almost negatively affecting you. “eia~ you stink so bad.” satoru commented again, to which you again, were silent. he hated it, your own energy almost has no scent of it’s own. satoru was famous as the strongest, similarly you were renouned as the merciless sorcerer who has no account for any emotion. when you didn’t reply anymore, satoru glared and decided he can touch you. hands clasping your shoulder, “ayo, talk to me right now.”
you looked at him, “oh, you were saying something? i thought there were was a mosquito buzzing around me. my bad.” you are at least mocking him. he smiles at that, “you know i think what you deserve is to release all that suppressed cursed energy you’ve absorbed.” he was meaner this time, because satoru gojo was showing his care. hands gripping your wrist and pulling you close to him. “and you know the only sorcerer who can take it? me.”
that was satoru’s silent confession, and he thought he was very smug showing no emotion whatsoever to you. but his eyes— shouldn’t have worn glasses. “no thanks, i’ll use it on a special grade.” you replied. there was an immediate frown on satoru’s face. why are you wanting to keep it together so bad! oh he hates you so much- he loves you so much.
the flight to korea was quick & you two got out, taking your way to the nearest jujutsu school. as suspected by satoru, you and him were attacked mid way, and just when satoru was about to attack, they came for you. it all made sense, they want the special grades gone. one by one. “now’s a good time! go on- show me what—” before satoru could complete his sentence, you absorbed them one by one. “NO!” he snarled, why are you not letting the absorbed energy out.
you alone, could manage to defeat everything. except you didn’t feel like you anymore. that’s it. satoru has had enough. he stomped towards you, gritting his teeth and holding your face with a single hand, seething at your puckered lips. “stop this, stop being such a fucking bitch to yourself. can’t you see what’s happening?”
the distance between your lips and his was lessening with every sentence he spoke, and before you could reply, satoru leaned in, stealing a rough, angry and demanding kiss. that— took you off guard. eradicating all your haze and bringing you back to reality. “you need to be shown you can’t do everything alone, that you’re weak.” satoru’s words stung, but what he meant was he wanted you to lean onto him.
making you straddle his waist, to which you complied by wrapping your legs around him as he leaned you against the nearest tree. “do i fucking look like someone you’d fuck just like that.” you squirmed, though it is futile because satoru’s eyes calm you down, ground you. “shut up.” is all he said, leaning in and making his way for the sweet spot on your neck, he takes his time, nibbling and giving your sensitive skin hickeys until you awarded him with a delectable moan. “ah, there is it. didn’t know someone like you could have soft spots.” he smirked, feeling the cursed energy absorbed within you sunken and calm.
“i don’t have it for twigs like you.” you replied back, “and i’d never be one of the numbers in your body count.” satoru smiled at that, “damn, you really do consider me characterless don’t you?” oh thank heavens you wore a dress, his hands wandered off and cupped your clothed cunt, your gasps betraying your words along with the wetness in your body.
“you’re soaking, little one.” satoru cooes, “besides, i might look it but i do have some standards. won’t fuck anyone just for the sake of it.” he reiterated, rubbing your clothed clit and soaking in all your expressions.
“not for you…” your retort was awarded with a punishing pinch on your sensitive bundle of nerves. “you’re so fiesty you know that?” satoru grins, “been dreaming about fucking you since years.” satoru’s sudden honesty was taking you off guard.
“then keep dreaming, asshole.” you absent mindedly grinded against his hands, despite what words might say. “oh no, look at a hypocrite.” he unzipped himself, and knows full well, you could back hand him like an actual twig if you could. infinity was off, satoru was not using any force & yet, you didn’t resist.
eyes lingering against his as satoru leaned in, kissing you roughly, shoving his tongue in & making you cry out at the thrust of his cock balls deep. without giving you any time to recover, he started nailing him deep inside you. the way your body shamelessly moaned, satoru couldn’t help but groan. “look at you, all this power, and yet you can’t help but take me like a submissive little bitch in heat huh?”
“strongest sorcerer in the world & that’s what he dreams of? the opportunity to fuck?” you degraded him back, “like a dog in a rut?” you clicked your tongue, giving into a mewl when his thrusts brushed against your g-spot.
your pussy was clamping around his cock for dear life, and by the looks of it, both you and satoru were close. “i won’t let you cum if you don’t release all that pent up, absorbed curse energy.” satoru snarled, fingers jolting down to rub at your puffy clit.
“shut up; i- need to be prepared for the worst.” you replied back, whimpering out.
“it’s killing the essence of you.” satoru said the usual. but he said it in a way that made your eyes soften. it was clear he does not want that. “do it for this mission, i’ll handle everything.” he replied again, thrusts getting sloppier.
what you could do in return was just nod meekly. you still didn’t agree fully but god you wanted to cum. “gonna cum inside you, don’t be a bitch about it, we’d get you a plan b.” you rolled your eyes, not saying anything and clamping out, hands scratching his undercut as you tipped off the edge.
your orgasm raked through your body, making satoru also whine at the clamping, shooting hot ropes of cum into your womb. “that’s it my little special grade.” he panted heavily, seemingly relaxed.
now that you both did end up fucking, you wanted to avoid him. “nuh uh, don’t do that.” satoru gently pulled out, leaning in and kissing your cheek, kissing all over your face until all your doubts melted. oh satoru will make sure you’ll be alright. even if it means fucking the thoughts out of you. and even if it means hovering around you like a lost puppy until you date him.

Chapter Three | Masterlist | Chapter Five
Chapter Four – Someone Old, Someone New
The message came in shortly after lunch.
Mei.97: hey girl! Long time no see!!! I’m going to be in Seoul this week, pleeeeaaasse tell me you’re free for dinner tomorrow?!!? It’s been too long!!! Xxx
You had to read the message twice to be sure you were reading it right. You hadn’t heard from Mei—an old university friend—since your first ‘breakdown’. You wondered what on earth she could want. But you weren’t in any position to be turning down an outreached hand.
You: sure! It would be great to see you!
A few months ago, that would have been a huge lie. Now, it was only a little one. You weren’t looking forward to having to smooth over the details of your breakdown, or your break-up, but you had been close as students and it would be easier with her—she moved back to Busan after graduating, so you could put a little bit of the blame for your losing contact on that, too. You knew you weren’t quite there yet, but you felt like you were healing, you were making progress; you sometimes even felt, on occasion, pretty good about life. And you wanted to share that.
Tumblr media
The first thing you heard upon walking into the bar you had suggested was the loud screech of your name. Then Mei was running over. You had barely even noticed her before she was wrapping her long arms around you in a huge hug. Her hair was as long and silky as it had ever been; she was still wearing the same perfume she always used to wear, and too much of it, as she always had; she looked almost exactly the same, except a little richer, a little chicer, like someone who had truly settled into themselves. She outshone the whole restaurant and looked as if she didn’t notice, as she always used to. The real world didn’t seem to have dimmed any of her at all. You were pleased with yourself that this didn’t make you completely sick with envy.
“Girl, oh my god, it is so good to see you! You look amazing! I can’t believe it; you’ve barely changed! Love the hair, though,” she announced to basically the whole bar.
You’d forgotten that she was possibly the only person in the world who was louder and talked more than you did. You’d forgotten how much you liked her. You had no need to be nervous, you realised, because it would never occur to her to judge someone; she just wasn’t that sort of person because she wouldn’t even have the time for it. She was more than just a rolling stone: this rolling stone had an engine and jet fuel.
“I ordered a bottle of wine because I wasn’t sure if you were still into the same drinks and I figured, wine is a safe option, right? You want some?” she asked but she was already pouring into your glass. “Tell me everything, babe. It has been so long. What is up?”
You took a deep breath. Where to start?
You marvelled at how painless the night had been. It was fun. Somehow, despite all the discussion you’d had about your life since university, your life now, it wasn’t painful. Not really. Mei was single, too, and courting every man in Busan before her parents tightened the screws on her to settle down. She was enjoying working for the family business (if a corporation can be called merely a ‘business’). She was earning a salary that made you wince and made her promise dinner was on her. You were doing reasonably well in your career, too, actually. You were earning enough to live in Seoul on your own. Things weren’t perfect, but Mei was such a positive and enthusiastic steam-roller that she made you feel like you were thriving, not wilting. She was exactly what you needed.
You were just wishing that she didn’t have to leave Seoul, that she could move and stay forever when she took her ice-cream spoon from her mouth and looked sheepishly at her empty bowl.
“I have a confession to make,” she began. “I had a teeny ulterior motive for asking you to dinner.”
Your stomach lurched.
“Oh?”
“You remember my cousin Sungbin? He came to visit that time at uni?”
“The one we had to carry back to your room?”
“You mean the one we had to find someone else to carry back to my room?”
“Yes!” You laughed. “Yes, I remember! How could I forget?”
He was a sweet, tall drink of water who accepted every shot and drink foisted on him by his cousin and her friends until he passed out in the bar. You and Mei had dragged him through the streets of Hongdae asking every passerby if they could help you get him home. You didn’t remember who actually helped or much of the rest of the night, but that arduous 100-meter drag was almost as painful as your hangover had been the following day.
“What about him?”
“Ok, so my uncle is retiring, right? He’s still going to be on the board but he’s retiring from his actual position so, of course, Sungbin, oldest son, he’s got to step up. He's moving to the big city, girl! Taking up a position at the HQ here. My ulterior motive is me asking you a huge favour.”
“What’s the favour?”
“He doesn’t know anyone here, right? Never lived here before. Would you maybe like, take him out for drinks or lunch or something – super casual, no big deal! – just so he’s got a friendly face? Give him some recommendations for stuff, I don’t know, just so he doesn’t feel overwhelmed and on his own?”
You didn’t really know how to feel about it. Of course, you would. Of course, you would be happy to take Sungbin out, show him around, help him if he needed. You felt flattered that Mei would even ask you, that she thought you would be up to the job. That she thought of you at all, to be honest. Had you not just been thinking that you needed new friends? And now one was landing straight in your lap.
It all felt a little too good to be true. It was too easy. Things had been too easy recently; this was just too much good, surely? You weren’t used to this. It felt wrong. Made you anxious. And, usually, that anxiety made you make things worse all on your own. But your therapist had told you to stop looking for the bad, to trust the good, appreciate its presence. You could do that. Right? You could do that.
“Yeah, sure! Of course, I can take him out.”
Mei dramatically fell to the table in relief and held tight to both your arms.
“You are an angel! Thank you! Here’s the bad part, though: any chance you can do it tomorrow? I’m leaving in the morning and he’s going to be on his own for the first time since moving-”
“Oh, he’s already here?”
“Yeah! That’s why I’m here, girly! I helped him move! Any chance you’re free tomorrow?”
You didn’t know how to say yes without letting her know that you were the sort of person who had no plans at the weekend but you didn’t want to say no because you were the sort of person who had no plans, and it would be nice to get out of the apartment. You did not look into the fact that she was asking you this last-minute, assuming you would have no plans already. You shrugged.
“Yeah, I can do drinks or something tomorrow night?”
“Babe, you are my favourite person in this whole world. I’m going to give you his number; just text him. He doesn’t know anyone here so he literally has nothing better to do and I’ve already told him I’d put you guys in touch.”
From anyone else, that might have prickled a little; the assumptions might have rubbed you the wrong way, but Mei was relentlessly optimistic, having never had any real hardship in her life (she would admit to this, too), so she had never had any reason to believe that things wouldn’t go the way she expected. Far from wanting to burst her bubble, you wanted to protect her naivety. Because you wished you could have it, too.
As you walked and subwayed and walked home, you thought about Mei and her life, and your life, and how different things could be. You wondered who you would be if you weren’t so broken, if your head could just have got its shit together—rather, if your head had never gone to shit in the first place. Would you have been like Mei? Would life have found another way to break you? Were things destined or was everyone, including the universe, just making things up as they went along?
Could you ever be like Mei? Was anyone like her? Did she have secret pain?
It wasn’t lost on you, the possibility that she wasn’t as happy-go-lucky as she seemed. The shock and surprise of everyone you knew when you ended up in hospital was almost the worst part. If you never heard someone say ‘I had no idea!’ again, it would be too soon. You thought about it a lot, how normal you were (or weren’t). You couldn’t believe that everyone else went through life not thinking the things you thought, that everyone else was somehow just able to get on with things without the sometimes-debilitating urge to sink into the floor forever.
You shook your head, because you knew you weren’t supposed to be thinking like this. You’d had a really fun time with an old friend and you were going to have a really fun time tomorrow with a new friend. That was all. There was no need to ruin it by overthinking and second-guessing.
Tumblr media
You tapped a finger nervously on the bar as you sat on your stool. You used to come here a lot, or at least semi-frequently, but you hadn’t ventured into this part of the city since you moved out of the apartment you had shared with your ex. He got the apartment, so he got the neighbourhood, too.
You couldn’t really miss it, not on its own, because your life had changed dramatically after the break-up: you moved somewhere else, lost most of your friends, and stopped going out. This was really the only ‘out’ that you knew. And, crucially, it was close enough to Sungbin to become his neighbourhood, too. So here you were, tapping at the bar, staring at the door, trying not to gulp your drink and be drunk before he even arrived.
It was bright and hot and humid. It had rained solidly for three days and the water still hung in the air, clung to your skin, even as the sun tried its best to burn it away. You pressed your palm against your cold glass and tried to will yourself cooler without success. You already felt sticky with sweat and you didn’t know if that was entirely down to the weather, or if your nerves were also to blame.
You knew you didn’t have to be so nervous. What was the worst that could happen? Taehyung had, very patiently, talked you through it: all possible outcomes, all likely scenarios, best- and worst-case situations; he had reminded you that you were an adult human being who knew how to speak to other people. You did. You did know. But it had been a very long time since you had been in this situation. It wasn’t a date. Obviously, it wasn’t a date, but it was the closest you had got to one for many years; you were meeting a man, in a bar, alone. You didn’t know each other; you were hoping he would like you.
You took another gulp of your drink and repeated Taehyung’s words back to yourself. You reminded yourself of how good things were, ran through your gratitude list, tried to persuade yourself not to psych yourself out before the date (it was not a date! NOT. A. DATE.) had even begun.
You had turned from the door, realising how awkward it might be for you to have to stare at each other as he walked towards you and were now just glancing over your shoulder every single time you heard the door open. To stop it being awkward. You had done well to pace yourself and it was as you lifted your glass to your lips for another sip that you heard someone call your name. You turned and came face to face with a man you knew could not be Sungbin.
“Hi,” he said somewhat awkwardly as you continued to drink. “I don’t know if you remember me but I’m Mei’s cousin, Sungbin.”
You gasped as you drank and it all came out in a choke and a splutter and you were blushing and fumbling to put your glass down, find a napkin, rewind time by ten seconds. The napkin came from his hand and you took your time drying your face and hands to try to will your blushes away. You were so embarrassed you could barely look at him.
And there was so much of him to look at. This was not tiny, tall drink of water Sungbin from your university days. He was huge. He must have grown at least six inches taller, not to mention wider. His biceps were the size of thighs and his thighs were almost bursting out of his skinny jeans. You didn’t know where to look.
“You can’t be Sungbin!” you cried. “You’ve got to be the guy that ate him!”
He laughed and tugged at his hair a little self-consciously.
“Yeah, I guess I’ve grown a bit.”
“A bit!  You’re... You’re a hulk!”
You were off your stool and gripping his bicep before he’d even finished the sentence—your fingertips didn’t even come close to touching. You were gawking, gaping, ogling this poor man without an attempt to hide it. You gestured broadly to his entire body with your other hand and only when you looked back up did you notice the blush on his face, the awkward way he averted his gaze. You stood back and gasped again, this time without choking.
“I’m so sorry,” you told him. “Oh my god, that was so rude of me. I’m so sorry! What a dickhead! This is a terrible first impression for me to be making!”
“Technically, not a first impression; we have met before.” He chuckled awkwardly. “And I didn’t exactly cover myself in glory then; I was, uh, a little worse for wear, I think.”
“A little?! We were worse for wear; you were... the worst for wear! I’m amazed you survived.”
“The joys of youth. Not sure I’d survive doing it now, just in case you had any ideas.”
“Mei and I could barely get you home then, there is no way on God’s green earth I’d be able to carry you home by myself now! I wouldn’t risk it.”
“So, we’re agreed then: both getting home in one piece?”
You lifted your glass.
“I’ll drink to that!”
*
You moved from one bar to the next, almost retracing steps you used to take in what felt like your former life. Sungbin paid great attention to where you were going and what else was around, cataloguing his new area, making notes for his new life. Your nerves were long gone, as were his, and you were enjoying a night out with a relative stranger as if you were a real person who did things like this: a real person who made new friends, who went out at the weekend, who had a proper life again. You had to pinch yourself to make sure this was all really happening, that this was all really going well. Your problems felt miles away, lightyears. You wondered if this is what it felt like to be normal. Whole. Fixed. You made a mental note to tell your therapist.
You were on a roof terrace, carpeted with fake grass, decorated with fake flowers. Everything was clean and bright and the sun was still high in the summer sky. It was still a little too warm and a little too sticky, your glasses sweating as well as your bodies, but the lightest of breezes lifted the ends of your hair every now and then, and you couldn’t have imagined a more comfortable feeling than the soft rush of wind across your hot skin. You took seats under a white, wooden pergola where the sunlight was dappled through the fronds twisted along the frame.
This heat usually enervated you, made you lethargic and sloth-like. That night, though, sitting under fake foliage, you felt solar-powered. There was a summer spring in your step. You felt, dare you believe it, like you were glowing. Like a butterfly emerging from its cocoon. A brand new thing. A better thing. Being here, an old place, with Sungbin, a new friend, could have felt awkward, uncomfortable, like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole—you had expected it to—but no. You felt bigger and brighter, not smaller and duller. You were conscious of the possibility of your old life encroaching on your new one, the possibility of running into someone you used to know, but you decided to push those thoughts away. Compartmentalise them. Ignore them. You didn’t need them.
Sungbin was talking about his ex. It was an awkward break-up; they’d not been together long enough for her to move to Seoul with him, or for him to even ask her to, but it had been long enough that it felt significant, felt like throwing something away when they ended things. But he was young and he wasn’t worried. You didn’t say it out loud but you thought to yourself that a man like him surely would never have to worry: looking like he did, having the position he had, being a sweet, polite kind of guy; women would be queueing up for even a chance with him.
“I don’t really miss her that much, because there’s so much going on here that I haven’t really even had the time to. That, if nothing else, tells me it was the right decision for us.”
The words reached your ears but didn’t go in. You could feel your heart pounding hard in your chest and sweat begin to prick in your palms. Your eyes had flicked over the crowd in front of you, people walking in and out, to and from the bar, looking for tables, looking for friends. They had skimmed over the faces of strangers until they hit upon someone familiar. The face had immediately disappeared back into the crowd, but you were sure it was him. It had to be. Why else would your whole body have gone into panic mode? Why else would your legs be like jelly? Why else would your fingers feel numb? A quiet ringing grew louder in your ears and you kept looking for him again, waiting for that dark head above a white shirt to break through the crowd again. You had to be sure it was him.
“Are you ok?”
You wanted to stand. You had to stand and get a better view. You wished it weren’t so busy. Why did it have to be a Saturday night? Why were all these people out?
“Are you ok?”
A touch on your arm drew you back and your head span to Sungbin. He looked confused, concerned.
“I think I saw my ex,” you told him, your voice hoarse.
“Ah. A bad break-up?”
Your eyes had already gone back to the crowd, scanning and searching.
FUCK.
It was him. It really was him. It had to be. It couldn’t be.
“Yeah, no, I don’t know,” you answered vaguely.
You were still staring at him and then his eyes flicked to yours and you flinched so hard you almost knocked over your glass. You turned away, turned back; he looked as surprised as you were. He looked unsure. He looked like he was walking over to you.
“Oh fuck, oh fuck, oh fuck,” you said under your breath, looking at the table, trying to work out how on earth you were going to handle this. You wondered, if you thought hard enough, if you would be able to make yourself disappear. You wondered if you could just run: leg it out of the bar as fast as you could and not look back. You felt dizzy. You felt sick. You felt... drunk. Too drunk. Of all the places and all the times you might have imagined seeing him again, this wasn’t one. This would probably be the very last place you’d have chosen to run into him.
Sungbin’s hand was back on your arm, less tentative now. He scooted his chair closer to yours. His hand slid down your wrist and he tangled his fingers in yours. You could only look at him; you didn’t have the mental capacity to even form the question in your mind.
“Don’t worry,” came his reply. “I got you.”
Then he winked.
“Hi.”
You looked up and there he was. San. Just as he always had been. Maybe his hair was a little shorter, you could kid yourself there was an extra line or two on his face. But it was him, no denying.
“Hi,” you squeaked back.
You were trying to think of all the things you wanted to say to him, trying to think of all the things you could say to him, that would be appropriate to say to him here, in this bar, whilst holding the hand of another man.
“Hi, I’m Sungbin.”
He was confident. He stuck out his free hand and gave San a generous smile.
“Oh, uh, San.”
“Nice to meet you.”
“Nice to meet you, too.” San turned his face back to you. “How have you been?”
You looked at Sungbin for help: this relative stranger, this potential new friend pretending to be your new boyfriend in front of your old boyfriend, this man who seemed to have much better control of this situation than you did. You could barely think at all. It was a desperate ringing, alarm bells, sirens wailing, a maelstrom of panic. Sungbin smiled at you. You had no idea how long you looked at him before answering, had no sense of time anymore.
“Yeah, fine,” you said, eventually tearing your gaze from Sungbin to stare into San and the sun behind him. Sungbin gave your hand a squeeze. “Good, actually. You?”
“Yeah, same old same old, you know how things are. Didn’t expect to see you here.”
“Oh, that’s my fault.” Sungbin stepping in to save you again. “I live in the area so I’m always dragging her over this way.”
You stammered for a second, trying to take in San’s surprise and Sungbin’s sweet, encouraging smile.
“Y-yeah, he does,” you confirmed. “I don’t- I don’t mind, though, really.”
“Mm, you always liked this bar. I remember.”
“Yeah.”
You noticed the way San’s eyes flicked to your hands, clasped together on the table, not just once but again and again. You wished you could peer inside his head, know what he was thinking.
You were hardly thinking at all. Your brain was trying so hard to be quick that it had overloaded itself, stalled, got stuck. You couldn’t get over the fact of him, there, in front of you. It had been months. Seasons had changed since you saw him last. You had changed. Could he see that? Did you want him to? Did you want him to miss you? Did you want him to be bothered by Sungbin—gentle giant, Sungbin, holding your hand so casually, talking about you as if you really were together? You tried not to imagine what San was doing there, who he was with. You didn’t know if you would care. You wouldn’t be surprised to learn he was dating. He was a catch, you knew that.
There were too many things happening at once, too many things to process. You felt like you were spinning out of control. What if San knew Sungbin wasn’t your boyfriend? What if he knew this was all pretend? What if he asked more about it? What if everything unravelled before your very eyes and the ground didn’t show mercy and swallow you whole?
“Are you still living around here?” San asked you. “I would’ve expected to see you around more.”
“Oh, uh, no. I’m over the river. I just-…"
You couldn’t commit yourself to the lie, had to let yourself trail off just looking at Sungbin, desperate for a sign you were doing ok, you were playing this the right way. He grinned at you.
“Like I said, my fault.”
He shrugged with a light chuckle and San faintly followed suit, mouth moving but no sound actually coming out.
“Right, well,” he began in the tell-tale way that said he was backing out of this conversation. “I’d better get back to my table. It was uh, nice meeting you, Sungbin. Good to see you, too-” his eyes rested on you, needled into you like he was searching for something specific in your face. “I’m glad you’re doing well.”
“Yeah, me too. I mean, me for you, you know what I mean.”
A genuine smile. And a nod. Then he was retreating back into the sea of people, disappearing and leaving no trace. No trace but the hammering of your heart. No trace but the sweat pooling in your palms and sticking your dress to your back. No trace but the sudden exhaustion of the relief you felt being out of his presence. Sungbin squeezed your hand again.
“Bad break-up?”
You rested your forehead on the fingers of your free hand and shook your head.
“It was for me. It was the right decision but yeah, it was bad for me. I haven’t... I haven’t seen him since I moved the last of my shit out from our apartment – what used to be our apartment.”
Sungbin nodded knowingly and placed his hand on top of yours just for a second. Then he let you go completely.
“I’m sorry if I overstepped. I realise I didn’t really give you a chance to disagree; I’m sorry about that. I-”
You shook your head and waved your hand.
“It’s absolutely fine,” you reassured him. “It was good, actually.”
You were deeply grateful for his quick-thinking, presumptuous though it may have been. You wanted to splash your face with cold water, give yourself a shock, try to bring yourself back into the room. You didn’t want to look like you were still completely hung up on your ex; you didn’t want to look like a mess; you just needed a second to take a breath.
“That was... not expected,” you went on, more for your benefit than for his. “I have thought so many times about what I would say and what I would do if I saw him again but I guess I never really believed it would happen and then suddenly, he was fucking right in front of me and I just felt like dying!”
Sungbin laughed, as you knew he would, because it was a joke. It was a joke. But you didn’t not feel like dying for at least a second there.
“When did you break up?”
“Oh, months ago now. Kind of feels like I should be over it, I guess. I mean, I am, really. I just-...”
“You were caught off-guard. I get it; it’s rough seeing them again.”
It was rough. And you believed that he did get it. And he smiled at you so sincerely that you could have cried. It surprised you, that people could be nice to you; that people could like you, even; that people could see you and still smile at you. You looked at each other a little longer, Sungbin’s quiet calm radiating through you, your heartrate slowing and your spinning head coming to a stop.
“Thank you,” you said as you picked up your glass to take a sip to cover awkwardness that only you felt. “That was quick thinking and um, yeah, I think it helped. You didn’t have to do that.”
Sungbin shrugged.
“You’re doing me a big favour tonight; it was the least I could do. Happy to be your fake boyfriend whenever you need!”
He laughed and then you laughed and it felt good. You drained the last of your drink and Sungbin suggested you go somewhere else for your next one. You agreed. You didn’t look for San on your way out, just kept your eyes on Sungbin’s back as he led you, your hand in his (just in case), back through the bar and out onto the street.
“You don’t have to literally walk me to my door,” Sungbin said as you stepped into the lift with him. “I maintain that it should be me walking you home.”
You shrugged.
“That argument might hold water if you had even half a clue of how to get to my apartment. But you don’t. Besides, I was taking you out tonight; it only follows that I walk you back, too. Why break tradition?”
Sungbin bit back a grin.
“How long before I live that down?”
“Oh, at least five more years.”
“Well, if you’re going to make me suffer that, don’t you think we should do this correctly? Now, how did it go again?”
He moved behind you and draped himself over your shoulders, slowly leaning his weight onto you. You cried out and could do nothing but collapse underneath him.
“NO! I couldn’t carry you then; now you’re just trying to kill me!”
You knelt on the floor of the lift with your hands outstretched above you, as if they would in any way hold him off. He straightened and pulled you up by them.
“Fine,” he conceded as he stepped out at his floor. “But next time, you’re going to have to let me walk you home. Deal?”
You shrugged. You nodded. You didn’t take that as a promise.
“About your ex,” Sungbin started, standing in front of his door.
“Yeah?”
“Where exactly are you at with that?”
That had you on the backfoot. You didn’t know how to answer the question for yourself, let alone for him. Your first thought was that you probably would have to ask your therapist; did she think you were over it? Would she think you had closure? You blinked and opened your mouth as if somehow an answer would fall out of it without your having to compile it first.
“I just mean,” he continued, “are you dating? Would it be alright if I asked you out?”
“Oh, uh, I-”
Would it be alright? Wouldn’t it be? You had told yourself you were off dating. You weren’t ready for it; you had been emphatic when you’d said as much to Yoongi only a few weeks ago. Was that still true? You had spent so much time that day reminding yourself that this wasn’t a date, but... what if it had been? San aside, it had gone well, hadn’t it? You had had fun; Sungbin seemed like he had, too. He was the one who pretended to be your boyfriend first. Maybe... Maybe it would be ok? Maybe you were ready? There was only one way to really find out.
“Yeah, I guess that would be fine.”
He smiled.
“Good. I’ll do that then.”
He took your hand in his and pressed a kiss to your knuckles; everything inside you fluttered. Then he winked and dropped your hand to enter his door code.
“Text me when you get home safe, yeah?”
You nodded, mute. He smiled at you again.
“It was really nice to see you again.” And when he said your name, it sounded new.
You didn’t leave immediately. Couldn’t. You stood outside his apartment, in shock, processing, looking at his closed front door, to the left, to the right, looking for an answer to what just happened. Sungbin did not just ask you out. But he did say he would. He was going to ask you out.
And you had already kind of said yes.
To a date.
You fumbled in your bag for your phone and had it to your ear before you realised you absolutely had to leave, lest Sungbin hear you speaking. You scuttled back down the hallway and into the lift while Taehyung’s phone rang and rang and eventually went to voicemail. You hung up and tried again. And then again. And then you sent him a text.
You: TEDDY!!! PICK UPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You tried calling for a fourth time and for a fourth time, you heard the automated voice of his voicemail service.
You threw your phone back into your bag, defeated, but jittery with nerves and adrenaline. You could barely remember how this felt. In fact, with San you had seen it coming. You had engineered it. You had been flirting for weeks; you practically demanded he ask you out. Then he did. This had come out of the blue. Blindsided you. For the second time that evening. You were so shocked by Sungbin’s question that you had, momentarily, forgotten about running into San.
What a fucking night. One that you had almost no idea how or where to start processing. Everything was-… you threw your hands in the air, by yourself, in the lift, shaking your head, completely bewildered. Taehyung was your go-to person for this. He was your sounding board. You picked up your phone to call him just one more time.
Your phone rang as you were changing into your pyjamas and you picked it up with your vest only half pulled down over your chest.
“Teddy! Finally!”
“Are you dying?”
“No.”
“Are you hurt or injured or maimed in any way?”
“No.”
“Then stop calling!”
“Hey! I need to talk to you!”
“Well, it’s going to have to wait, princess; I’m busy.”
“Not even for five minutes?”
“No.”
“But I saw San!”
There was a pause as Taehyung digested the information.
“Are you ok?” he asked simply.
“Yeah.”
“Then it’s going to have to wait until tomorrow.”
You heard a rustling in the background, another voice.
“Oh my god,” you gasped, turning your voice down to a loud stage whisper. “Are you with someone?”
“... Yes.”
“OH MY GOD! Oh my god, please tell me it’s the barista. Is it the barista? It is, right?!”
“... Yes.”
You squealed and fell onto your sofa to kick your feet in the air.
“WE HAVE SO MUCH TO TALK ABOUT!” you screamed down the phone.
“Yes, but tomorrow.”
“Yeah, fine, tomorrow. Oh my god. I am SO excited, Teddybear.”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever. I’ll talk to you later. I’m going now.”
“Bye, Teddy!”
“Good night, babe; love you.”
“Love you!”
It was entirely possible that you weren’t going to be able to sleep at all now.
Tumblr media
You squealed as you opened your door and let Taehyung into your apartment. He handed over an ice-cold, sweating cup of coffee and flopped onto your sofa.
“Tell me literally everything,” you demanded.
He merely shrugged.
“Don’t be fucking coy, you piece of shit! I want to know everything! It’s THE BARISTA.”
The barista worked at a coffee shop not far from Taehyung’s apartment. The barista was a fine, delicate-boned, ethereal beauty, probably the prettiest person you had ever seen in real life. Even Taehyung—unflappable, cool, calm and collected Taehyung—had been flustered the first time the barista had flashed him his pearly whites. And, last night, something had finally happened between them.
“There’s really not that much to tell,” Taehyung countered. “I asked him out and he said yes.”
You hit him hard with a cushion.
“I said I want to know everything! And you can’t just say it like it was that simple; you’ve been daydreaming about that guy for months!”
“Firstly, I was sussing out his situation. I understand tact and diplomacy and how to not say every stupid thing that’s in my head at any given moment-”
“Uncalled for, but go on.”
“-So I had to bide my time.-”
“Also, you’re a massive chicken and he made you go knock-kneed and goo-goo-eyed.”
“-Do you want me to tell you what happened? Or would you prefer to just make up your own version?”
You cackled.
“You know I’d love to make up my own story, but no, sorry, I’ll stop interrup-”
“Don’t make promises you can’t keep, babygir-”
“Ok, now who’s interrupting?!”
“I’m the one trying to tell you a story!”
“Ok! Ok! Fine, spin your yarn and give me the entire confection, please.”
“I’m seeing him again tonight. Truth be told, I’d be with him right now if someone hadn’t already laid claim to my time.”
“Teddy!”
You felt bad for tearing him away from his One True Love, you did. But he’d already seen his success with the barista (Hyunjin to those in the know) and could go running right back to him as soon as he was done here. All you had was a too-warm apartment to stew in until whatever hour or day Sungbin would choose to actually, officially do the asking.
“Come on, then,” Taehyung said, with a shrug, and nudged you with his foot. “How the fuck did you see San again?”
Shit, that too.
“Right, well, you know I was out with Sungbin last night—and, by the way, do NOT let me forget to show you his instagram. Oh my god. There are no words. And there’s also something else I need to tell you about him after this. But, yes, San, ok.”
It felt like trying to describe a blur. You still didn’t know how you felt about it. The whole night felt surreal to you now, like a dream. It was frustrating to have met him but not really met him, to have seen him and not been able to talk. Everything that you had been working through—trying to work through—felt bundled up inside you and you wanted him to know. You didn’t need him to think you were dating again, you didn’t need to ‘win’; you needed him to know that you understood. That maybe there would always be some kind of thing between you—history, old intimacies like ink stains in your skin—but it didn’t mean that that past would hold you back forever. You wanted him to see that you understood that.
But you came to those conclusions this morning, after a deep sleep, after another man had made implicit promises to ask you out. And, once he’d actually asked you, would anything you had to say to San matter anymore? Did it really matter now?
“I don’t know how I feel about it because... I had this blind panic, y’know? But I don’t know why I panicked because San is a good person and I understand why he broke up with me and I don’t blame him for that and there really shouldn’t have been any reason for it to be awkward, right?”
“I mean, another man pretending to be your boyfriend might make it a little awkward.”
“Maybe... But that’s not Sungbin’s fault; he was trying to help. I thought I’d be cool seeing him again, because I’ve thought so much about things I want to say to him or would say if I could, but when he was actually in front of me, it was like I couldn’t think at all. I don’t know what that means.”
“It doesn’t have to mean anything. You were surprised.”
“Yeah, but shouldn’t I be over him? Should he have that effect on me even now?”
“I don’t think ‘should’ is a helpful word here, sugarplum. There is no should or shouldn’t about feelings; isn’t that therapy 101?”
“I just don’t know... I guess I thought that seeing him again would make everything crystal clear, written in stone. Sure. But... Well—ok, the other thing is that Sungbin kind of asked me out.”
“On a date?”
“Yeah.”
“What did you say?”
“Well, he asked me if it would be alright if he asked me out. And I said yes. So he said he would. But he hasn’t actually asked me yet.”
“And you want to know if you should go out with him or not?”
“I guess?”
You shrugged. You wanted to go out with Sungbin. You knew you wanted to because you could picture his smiling face and bulging biceps and you saw clearly, outside of the moment, how quickly and easily he stepped in to support you, no questions asked and no favours owed. He wanted to date you. You knew you wanted to date him. But-
“I don’t want it to be a mistake,” you said.
“That’s natural. No one likes making mistakes.”
“No, I mean, I don’t want it to be a mistake for Sungbin.”
“Why would it be?”
You looked at him, trying to say, without saying, what you meant. Because it had been for San—you had been. He was better off without you and maybe Sungbin would be, too. He was young and rich and free; he had just moved to the biggest city in the country; he had the world at his feet. Were you really going to let him limit himself, stop himself at your door?
Taehyung looked cross for a moment, lips pursed and eyebrows drawn, then he took a sip of his coffee (mostly iced water at this point) and, when he turned back to you, his gaze was softer.
“Baby,” he cooed and he held his arms out to you. Despite the heat in your poorly air-conditioned apartment, you climbed into his lap and let him stroke your hair. “There’s only one way to know for sure if something’s a mistake and that’s to do it. Sungbin clearly wants to. If you also want to, then you’re just going to have to dive in. The water’s great.”
You nodded and let him hold you, so grateful to him and all his tact and diplomacy and gentleness. He wasn’t always—or often—gentle with you, because usually that’s not what you needed and he knew it. Just like he knew that today, that was what you needed.
“I do have one question, though,” he said and his hesitance made your stomach drop.
“Ok.”
“Where does Yoongi fit in with all of this?”
“What do you mean?”
“Well, I don’t know; I thought you guys were-”
“-Friends! Just friends! Have I not said it a million times?! We’re just friends! We’ve always just been friends!”
“But you did have sex-”
“ONE TIME!”
You pushed away from him to better display your indignation and displeasure. Taehyung had a bee in his bonnet about Yoongi—had done since you’d first mentioned him—even though he didn’t know the guy, didn’t know anything.
“Ok, ok!” He held his hands up in defeat. “I just sort of figured you guys were heading in that direction.”
“Why?”
“You seem to like him a lot.”
“I do. Because we’re friends. I like you a lot, too, and we’re not going to shack up.”
“Yes, love, but I’m gay and you are not a man.”
You pushed him.
“You know what I mean!”
“I take your point. If you want to date Sungbin and feel good about it, then you have my blessing-”
“I don’t need your blessing, Teddy; I can do what I like!”
He fixed his eyes on you and simply waited you out.
“Ok, fine!” you cried, exasperated, after probably not more than five seconds. “Thank you, yes, I did want your approval.”
“And you have it, my sweet. As long as you’re happy and not being a complete idiot, I’m on board.”
“I mean... Thanks, I guess?”
"Don’t mention it.”
Tumblr media
“Babe!” you cried as soon as Yoongi step foot inside the classroom the following Thursday. You beckoned him closer, telling him to hurry, and grabbed him by the arm as soon as he was within reach. “I have so much to tell you.”
He looked surprised, blinked, and then shrugged with a slight nod of his head. You didn’t pause for thought as you unloaded both your bags and your gossip onto the counter. You were sieving flour as you told him about your dinner with Mei; beating eggs into the mixture when you told him about drinks with Sungbin; and watching Yoongi almost drop the entire thing as he placed it in the oven when you mentioned San.
“What was that like?” he asked with genuine, but guarded, curiosity.
“A blur. Kind of a panicked mess but also fine. I sort of want a do-over but mostly for my pride, y’know? It was bumping into an ex, not actually meeting up with them so I think that made it better. But also worse because I had no time to prepare but there was also no opportunity to get into the difficult stuff which meant we didn’t have to get into it.”
“Do you still want to do that? Talk to him?”
“There’s a lot I want to say to him, but they are things I want to say more than things I think he would need or want to hear. If we met, it would be for my benefit and I don’t know if he deserves to be pulled in for that. Do you know what I mean?”
He looked thoughtful for a moment and nodded.
“And that was before Sungbin asked me out, too, so maybe I would be saying something different if that hadn’t happened.”
“He asked you out?”
Yoongi was turning towards his counter, looking at his sugar in his pan, turning on the hob, his head inclined just slightly towards you to indicate that he was listening. He needlessly pushed a hand through his hair which, far from tucking it behind his ear, made it fall in front of his face. You were, likewise, distracted by your sugar syrup and altogether too excited to take note of much else.
“Yes!” you cried in answer. “So, on the Saturday he asked if he could and, obviously, I said yes. Then it took him until Wednesday to actually do the damn thing, but yes, he asked me out and I said yes and we’re going out tomorrow for our first actual date.”
“Wow.”
“I know, right? I had no idea it was coming—the bit where he asked if he could ask me out, I mean. We ran into my ex at drinks! And he asked me out?! And I was... I was discombobulated, you might say; I stood at his door for five minutes just in shock at what had happened. I was in disbelief. Especially because I wasn’t expecting it! At all. I mean, I was just doing Mei a favour! I didn’t think anything of it and now I can’t stop thinking about it! Or, well, him. I had forgotten how exciting this part is? It’s terrifying, yeah, completely horrifying, really, but I also just feel like I’m alive, y’know?”
You paused briefly, glancing at the oven timer and stirring your syrup.
“I just...” you started and then stopped, staring off into space to let the thought coalesce in your brain. “It’s so crazy that you can think one thing and then someone comes into your life and, suddenly, everything is so different. All it takes is one person to—ok, this is dramatic but you know me now so you’re going to have to let me be—change your whole life. A chance encounter? And suddenly I’m not the world’s loneliest, bitterest, most miserable single person alive? Suddenly, I have something to be excited about? To look forward to? I’m getting ahead of myself, I know I am, but I’m allowing it. I’m allowed to indulge in this because it’s been so long. I’ve been miserable for ages now. And I’m finally not. Don’t get me wrong when I say this, because therapy works, or at least it helps, it really does, but man, having a crush on someone is fucking electric, right? Years of counselling and it turns out nothing makes you feel the joy of being alive like when you really fucking like someone.”
Yoongi hummed.

One of the habits you had picked up while away: working out early in the mornings. Whether it was going for a run, doing yoga, or some pilates you would wake up early and start your day with a good bit of sweat before devouring a smoothie and protein bowl.
Of course, you couldn’t quite replicate your routine with how your parents’ blender was broken and the protein in your house was a bit more limited than you had back at your place, but you could make do. Then there was your childhood neighborhood that didn’t have the same layout as your apartment’s neighborhood did; there were many more hills and way less sidewalks. But you figured you had walked these streets for eighteen years with only the occasional complaint, so it shouldn’t be that hard. You could make do.
Or at least you thought you could.
Currently, you were gasping for breath as you finished trekking up the last hill to your house. You’d forgotten just how much worse the monsoon season felt at home than at school. Thankfully, you’d dressed correctly for your morning run: your running shorts, a sports bra, and breezy tank top to help your dying body breathe easier. You just wish your terrain was more forgiving.
You decided to walk the rest of the street back to your house, feeling utterly humbled (and old) as the early morning sun beat down on your back. Sweat glided down your cheeks, making you take the hem of your tank top to wipe it off, before ultimately taking it off and using it as a towel instead. You swung the top across your shoulders and sighed at the discomfort, vowing to stick to your indoor pilates workout routine until the weather mellowed out.
You spent the rest of your walk internally whining about everything you’d done wrong since waking up, going over all of your worst regrets. But it wasn’t until you got to your front lawn, that you actually faced your biggest one. Which, of course, came in the form of Choi Beomgyu.
A gorgeous, sweaty, messy, out of breath Choi Beomgyu.
Feeling your cheeks heat up beyond what would be considered healthy, you gawked at the boy–no, man–who was currently putting together some machine in his own front lawn–the front lawn that your birdbrain had completely forgotten was right next door to your own. Beomgyu had also been dressed for the weather, wearing a loose, white tank top and black shorts with wire headphones as he worked. He looked like he might’ve been up for as long as you had, with sweat running down his forehead and arms, leading down to his dirty hands that you could only assume caused the multiple oil stains smeared on the front of his top. His hair was a delightful mess, but of course on Choi Beomgyu it made him look like a greek god. His face was a bit flushed from working, but you knew it was no match for the red on your face at the moment.
Lucky for you, he was completely focused on whatever the hell he was building.
Feeling hopeful, you discreetly inched towards your porch steps to avoid garnering his attention. You deemed your confrontation with him the night before to be good enough interaction for the next year, and you really did not want a repeat of it now, when you’re half naked and sweaty.
But as life would have it, you still have many regrets to live through today.
“Y/n?” he called.
You nearly shrieked as your body went on autopilot and jumped.
…Into the nearest bush.
“Y/n?!” he yelped, sounding a bit more concerned this time around.
WHY THE FUCK DID I DO THAAAT?
You hit your forehead with your fist as you berated yourself now physically and mentally while you basically hid behind the shrub by your porch. It’s not like you could escape the interaction, the only way to get out would be the way you came, which would only make you look so much weirder since he literally watched you jump, anyway! Now you were naked, sweaty, and had sticks in your hair. You really had to work on your fight or flight response because what the hell.
So much for acting like you moved on–what happened to being unbothered?!
You groaned and took your hair out of its ponytail to at least have something covering your shoulders a bit more. You used your tank top to wipe off additional sweat and dirt before trying to calm down and gather yourself.
“Y/n, are you okay?!” Beomgyu yelled, making you sigh heavily before popping out of your hiding spot.
“What–Beomgyu? Wow, I totally didn’t even see you there,” you coughed, pulling a random stick out of your hair.
Kill me.
You tried to not make eye contact with the boy, but you saw he was gaping at you and your disheveled state.
“W-what hap– a-are you okay?”
“Never better,” you replied. “I just thought there was a squirrel in the bush and-well, uh, you know...”
“I don’t think I do,” he said, furrowing his eyebrows.
You didn’t either. But you weren’t going to say that.
Instead, you waved his words off and let the space between you fill with silence. Beomgyu took both of his earbuds out and scratched the back of his neck while he tried to string together words. But it seemed neither of you were going to come up with much of anything as he continued to stare at you while you stared at the floor.
“Well,” you cleared your throat, wanting nothing more than to escape whatever the hell this was supposed to be. “See ya.”
You turned to run up your porch and into your house to curl up into a ball, when Beomgyu interrupted you once again.
“Wait, hold on!” he called, making you want to smash your head into the wall.
“We really have to stop doing this,” you groaned.
He let out a chuckle while you turned back towards him. “I know, my bad.”
You folded your arms as he nervously fiddled with the hem of tank top once again. While you tried to keep your self restraint in check, you allowed yourself one more second of drinking in the veins that popped from his forearms, before shaking yourself. “What do you want, Beomgyu?”
He motioned toward the half-finished machine sitting in front of him. “My dad just got this new grill for this weekend, and I’ve been trying to put it together all morning, but I need some help carrying the tank and finishing it up,” he explained.
You grimaced, “I don’t think I can help you out with that, to be honest.” Nor do I want to.
But luckily, he shook his hands frantically, “No, no! I just meant–I mean, I was going to come to your house to ask Soobin for some help, anyway! I just figured it would be kind of weird for me to knock on your door after you just left, you know, so…”
He let the words die awkwardly after rambling for a bit, but he looked to you with red ears and a hopeful look on his face that you got the gist of what he was saying without thinking he was weird or weak, or whatever was making him so anxious.
Not that you felt you were in a place to judge, after he just watched you jump into a bush.
Sighing a little bit, you hesitantly nodded at him and gestured to your house. “Alright, well come in then. I’m sure oppa’s not doing anything important right now, anyway.”
Beomgyu’s eyes slightly widened at the offer, before nodding enthusiastically.
“Oh, perfect! G-great! Thanks, Y/n,” he rambled, which you ignored as he started speed walking over from his spot to follow you into your house.
You opened your door that was almost always unlocked and toed off your shoes easily and slipped into a pair of slippers while Beomgyu tried his best to not touch anything with his grease-stained fingers. Noticing his predicament, you bit the inside of your cheek in slight annoyance as you slid another pair of slippers next to his feet.
“Thank you,” he muttered, slightly embarrassed.
“Just go wash your hands in the bathroom,” you dismissed, immediately walking away from him to go further into the house. “Man, I’m starving.”
“Y/n? Is that you,” your mom’s voice called from the kitchen, making you walk in her direction.
Turning the corner, you’re faced with your mother in her usual pajamas, making herself a pot of coffee. You smiled brightly at her, but she gave you a confused look.
“Where are your clothes, bean?” she asked, making the smile drop off your face.
You heard Beomgyu choke from behind you, making your cheeks heat up ridiculously.
“Hello to you too, eomma,” you grumbled, making your way to the fridge to make yourself a yogurt bowl and fight off your blush. “I just went for a run at the worst time possible.”
Your mom snorted at that. “Why in the world would you want to do that?”
“Because I hate myself,” you grumbled sarcastically, only half joking considering your circumstances.
After taking a bit of time to grab all of the ingredients you needed, you went to sit at the counter by your mother who was making herself a mug.
“Did you want a cup?” she asked you, to which you made a sour face. “Oh, right, I forgot you hated coffee.”
“Which is a crime, by the way,” Beomgyu chimed in, coming into the kitchen as well, drying his hands off on a towel from the counter.
“Beomgyu! When did you get here, dear?” Your mother smiled at the boy who was practically her second son.
He smiled widely back at her, going in for a hug before realizing his shirt was horribly stained and pulling back.
“I came with little Y/n. I just went to wash my hands really quickly,” he explained.
Your mother let out a little laugh, “Speaking of washing, what happened to you? You look like you slept in a garage.”
You smirked at that, while Beomgyu went to explain himself. But before he could, you all heard heavy footsteps thunder down the staircase. It had been a few years, but you could recognize Soobin’s footsteps anywhere.
You were proven right when the steps had rounded the corner, revealing your older brother with his eyes barely opened. Soobin slowly trudged through the kitchen, his body on autopilot as he instinctively opened the right cabinets to get a bowl and cereal. It was only when he opened the fridge and grabbed the milk that you decided to say something.
“Well good morning, sunshine,” you cooed, making Beomgyu snort from behind you.
Like on command, your brother screamed and dropped the milk carton. He whipped around to face you, while you were currently swallowing a spoonful of your yogurt bowl.
“Jesus Christ, I forgot you were here,” he muttered. After rubbing his eyes roughly, he opened them once again to look at you, but quickly shielded his eyes and screamed again. “Where the hell are your clothes?!”
Your mom and Beomgyu laughed while you rolled your eyes and chucked a piece of granola at him. Your brother flinched when it bounced off of his forehead.
“Is my nakedness really that bothersome to all of you,” you grumbled, scooping more yogurt into your mouth.
“Not bothersome,” your mom said as she went to grab another mug for your brother as she could tell he was in need of his own cup of coffee, “Just very shocking to see you in a sports bra considering the most exercise you did in high school was walking to the convenience store for ice creams.”
You absentmindedly grinned at that as you remembered all of your ice cream runs with your brother back in high school.
It seemed Soobin was doing the same thing as he let out a happy sigh. “Ah, good times.”
You nodded in agreement as he picked up the milk carton and made his way to sit next to you to eat his breakfast.
Beomgyu came over as well and took the other seat next to you. “Did you enjoy your beauty sleep?”
Soobin squinted at the boy around you. “I did, actually. You look like you could’ve used it though–”
Your mother lightly swatted the back of your brother’s head, ignoring his cry as she asked, “Did you want a cup, Beomgyu?”
He eagerly nodded at her. “Thanks, Mrs. Choi, that sounds great!”
Beomgyu smirked at Soobin, while he merely pouted back. “Why are you even here, Beomgyu? It’s too early to deal with the sight of your face.”
Beomgyu snorted. “I literally texted you about it yesterday before the dinner; I took apart appa’s old grill and I’m setting up the new one since all the guys are coming in this weekend. I need your help with the tank and stuff.”
Soobin groaned at the idea of doing manual labor, while you turned to your brother with a confused look and asked, “‘Guys’? Who’s coming in?”
“Some of our friends from school are coming down to visit. Yeonjun and Kai are definitely; not sure about Taehyun though,” Soobin sighed. “They’ll be here all weekend and staying with Beomgyu. But for the first night, we’re barbecuing and having a bonfire.”
You recognized all of the names: you’d actually met Yeonjun in person years ago, Soobin having met him in his first semester at school and became friends through Beomgyu. They brought Yeonjun back home with them since he didn’t have any plans for the holidays, so you got to know him a bit. Then there was Taehyun, who you’d only heard every now and then from random stories. But at last, there was Kai, who had been a common name thrown around by Soobin, claiming he adored the guy and would pick having him as a younger sibling over you any day.
Whatever.
It honestly surprised you to hear about Taehyun and Kai since it turned out they graduated high school the same year you had. Soobin told you they had met during a party where all three of them hid in a corner and bonded over their friends ditching them for the night. You’d been pretty interested in the lore behind your brother’s friend group when you were eighteen, until you’d heard the reason Soobin was ditched was because Yeonjun had been dragged into a beer pong game where he got smashed, and Beomgyu wanted to hook up with some random girl–who you would rather listen to your brother singing the Attack on Titan theme song for ten hours, than learn about.
“You should actually come with, Y/n,” Beomgyu piped in, nudging your elbow.
You didn’t turn toward him, instead remaining adamant on facing the other direction toward Soobin as he shook his head.
“Uh, no. Why would I surround my sister with a bunch of men? It’s bad enough you can see her like this,” Soobin wrinkled his nose at you, to which you promptly kicked him in the shin. It didn’t take long for him to kick you back.
“Soob, come on,” Beomgyu scoffed.
You honestly couldn’t tell whether Beomgyu was more offended over Soobin refusing you going, or the fact that him being around you was such a bad thing. And, the more you thought about it, the more you really didn’t want to know.
“What?” Soobin defended. “Men are disgusting!”
Your mother placed a mug in front of Soobin and Beomgyu respectively, before adding in her two cents, “I don’t know if you remember, Soobin-ah, but your sister isn’t thirteen anymore. She’s twenty-one and perfectly capable of deciding for herself if she would like to have men around her or not.”
“Thank you, Mrs. Choi! Spoken like a true feminist,” said Beomgyu, a wide grin on his face.
“Since when did you get so progressive?” Soobin deadpanned.
“Since when did you refer to Taehyun and Hyuka as ‘men’?”
“Touché, touché.”
Beomgyu said, “Our friends are literally the greenest flags to walk in South Korea, if little Y/n will be safe with anyone, it will be them.”
“That is true,” Soobin pondered, but you rolled your eyes at the both of them deciding on your weekend’s fate for you.
“Exactly! I don’t know why you never let Y/n come with us,” Beomgyu complained.
Soobin scoffed. “Why do you care so much?”
Your ears burned when Beomgyu stayed quiet at that, not really knowing what to say. Instead, you turned back towards your yogurt and took another mouthful. “Whatever, it’s fine. I don’t wanna go, anyway.”
“What? Y/n,” Beomgyu whined, but you just ignored him. Again.
Even if Soobin hadn’t refused, you would’ve had to look for a good excuse to not go for multiple reasons. And Beomgyu was not the biggest this time. You honestly planned to rot for at least a couple of days, after all the traveling yesterday and your run this morning. Truly, you’d only gone for a run because it was routine and basically instinct. But you were still jet lagged, not to mention your social battery had run fairly low after your best friend, Yunjin’s, party yesterday, and then your surprise reunions with Beomgyu. The party had been a little tiring, but it was incredibly lightweight compared to being with your brother’s best friend. To say the brunette boy was exhausting would be an understatement for you.
“Seriously? You don’t want to go,” Soobin asked, eyebrows lifted. “You always used to beg to hang out with us.”
You nodded and gestured to yourself. “I’m tired, oppa. Besides, like eomma said, I’m not thirteen anymore!”
Soobin looked at your attire once again and mocked, “You sure about that?”
You kicked the crap out of his shin under the table as he cackled.
“You’re adopted,” you growled, making Soobin laugh even harder at you. “You’re not funny, and you’re not cute. I hope you trip over the sidewalk and that your favorite anime character dies–oh wait, he already did.”
Soobin’s jaw dropped. “You bitch–”
This time, it was Beomgyu who roared with laughter as you stood up and placed your yogurt bowl in the sink. After putting all of the food away, you went to stand next time your mom and cling onto her.
She shook her head at the both of you as she wrapped her arms around you as well. “I have to say, even though I love the peace and quiet, I did miss hearing the creative insults you two would throw at each other.”
You tried to hide your smile at that, while Soobin continued grumbling into his cereal. Another thing you had missed: your brother. Your age gap wasn’t very wide and the both of you had many things in common growing up. Though you’d always been close, the both of you had grown a lot closer while in high school. No one had known you better than he had, and the same vice versa, besides maybe Beomgyu. It had honestly broken his heart when you decided to study abroad and leave for four years, but the two of you stayed in contact with random facetimes and his many visits. You would say you stayed in better contact with him than you had anyone else.
“I know you missed your sister too, Soobin,” your mom cooed, causing your brother’s nose to twitch.
He gave a big sigh, “Whatever. Come, don’t come–your choice whether you want to or not.”
Your eyes widened a bit at the yield. Despite all those embarrassing years of begging to hang out with him and his friends, Soobin was adamant on the both of you not mixing friend groups. You knew all of his friends in high school since you passed each other in the halls everyday, but Soobin remained stubborn that you couldn’t join his friends when they went out. It always confused you since his friends were a bunch of angels, but your mom said Soobin was just too protective when it came to you. This never made sense to you, but your parents would always take his side on it. To see your mom voice her opinion against his and your brother finally giving in was a bit of a shock. Maybe you weren’t the only one who had changed a little over the past four years.
“Come on, Y/n, it’ll be fun,” tried Beomgyu.
He turned in his seat to face you and your mom, giving you those famous puppy eyes you’ve recently started to really dislike.
You turned your head away stubbornly, but your mom wasn’t quite done either.
“You should go, bean,” she said, petting the top of your head. “It’ll be like ‘healing your inner child’, or something.”
Your eyebrows raised as you faced your mother. “Who taught you that phrase?”
“Yunjin-ah. I called to congratulate her on graduating the other week,” she supplied, making you roll your eyes at the mention of your childhood best friend.
Of course she did, you mentally laughed.
“Look, I understand you’re tired, but it’s only Tuesday! The boys don’t come in until this weekend, you have plenty of time to rest,” she continued.
It honestly surprised you how much your mom was pushing you. She typically didn’t push you to do much of anything besides clean up. To see her have an actual opinion on it and pursue it against you made you think for a second.
“What, is IU supposed to be there, or something?”
“Huh?” your mom asked, thoroughly confused.
“I mean, there’s gotta be another reason as to why you want me to go so bad.”
Your mom laughed before pinching your ear lovingly, making you squirm away from her. “Sorry I want you to have fun while you’re at home!”
Shrugging your shoulders, you relented. “Fine, because you guys are so desperate–”
“YES!”
Beomgyu cheered as he suddenly stood up from his seat. He clutched the mug your mom gave him in one hand before using the other to give her a one-armed hug and kissed her on the cheek. Your mother laughed as he sang, “Mrs. Choi, I owe you the world!”
Soobin rolled his eyes so harshly it made you stifle a laugh.
“Stop rizzing up my mother, you loser,” he groaned, before getting up to put his bowl and breakfast away. “Let’s just go finish this stupid grill before I ghost you and leave you to build it yourself.”
Beomgyu’s mood didn’t deflate at your brother’s negativity and instead picked up the other mug as well, to bring with them. “Thanks for the coffee, Mrs. Choi! I’ll make sure to bring it back later!”
“Oppa can bring it back,” you reasoned.
“That’s what I just said,” Beomgyu said, a bit of mischief in his tone.
You deadpanned him, but his grin didn’t shift.
“See you later, little Y/n.” And the bastard sauntered away, carrying both mugs for him and your brother who looked like he was going to need it more than anything to get through the rest of the morning.
“Is it too late to back out?” you asked your mom, the fake smile on your face contradicting your serious tone.
Your mother hummed as she studied the view from the window on the side of your house that showed Beomgyu and Soobin on his front lawn, before moving back towards you.
“I have to say, that is probably the happiest I’ve seen him since you left,” she said softly, making the fake smile melt off of your face. “You don’t actually have to go; like I said, you’re old enough to make your own choices. But I think it’d be really good for you to. And if not for you, at least it would be for him.”
You knew your confusion was evident on your face by the knowing smile that crept onto hers.
“Just give it a shot, bean. Besides, I think you’ll really like Soobin’s friends. They’re the sweetest boys you could ever meet.”

BPP, I've been watching the fights with yoongi solo stans and pjms and how people say you're a JM anti and remembered how your first posts on Tumblr was fighting against yoongi solo stans to defend JM 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I hope you're having a wonderful time with yoongi's tour
PS. some of us really miss your jikook posts 😉
*
Ask 2: I miss your jikook posts BPP. Has there been a jikook moment you liked recently? Do you still like jikook?
***
Hi Anon(s),
My favourite jikook moment lately has to be Letter, and the ~2 hour Jimin special Wlive that Jungkook shared with ~10 million people a short while ago.
Letter has been in constant rotation whenever I'm home - I really wish it were on Spotify. A friend of mine owns a restaurant and after hearing Letter at my place, he included Letter in the playlist he has running in the background to add to the ambiance of his restaurant. He told me recently that someone asked him who the singer was and he mentioned Jimin, and that another patron on another day recognized it to be Jimin, and that honestly made my day. Jimin's voice alone is calming, comforting, just simply beautiful. Combined with Jungkook's voice though, the song sounds even better. Their chemistry - in their interactions, in their sense of humour, in their dance and singing styles, heck even in the way they dress and their personal styling - their chemistry in every way is perfection.
Jimin is the Yin to Jungkook's Yang.
I hoped Jimin would talk more about including Jungkook on that project, but he didn't really. But Jimin also didn't have much time to promote in general so there's that. Here's to hoping we get more jikook collaboration on PJM2 and JJK1 later this year.
And Anon 1, I'd completely forgotten about those bloggers lmaooo. Thanks for reminding me. I checked in on a couple of them after seeing your ask and lol nothing had changed. Like I've been saying, people who become solos were always going to be that. There's nothing to be done for people who can't separate their egos from the personhood of the idols they claim to love, nor for people who can't check their impulse to mirror gross behaviours towards idols they claim to love. Life's too short to carry another pikin's wahala on my head.
I'm having the time of my life with Yoongi's tour going on btw. He's an excellent performer who has really come into his own. He is performing the songs he's written, composed, and produced, on a tour he's arranged from start to finish, that has received the highest critical acclaim both in Korea and internationally. Jimin saw it in him years ago and now it's reality.

yea!! not to spoil too much but it focuses on her grieving and finding friendship in dove who shes only just really met as it takes place after tigerhearts se and fills the gap before tbc begins, its sweet sometimes the novellas really hit sometimes they dont i have a friend who skips them completely and i dont get it they add so much NIGHTSTAR MY BELOVED </3 i first read about him in yellowfangs se and thought damn i wish i could read more about him and then his manga came out and i was so happy lol, hoping we get cannon merch of him someday i love how hes written, gonna make a note to make fanart of him aha, unfortunate how he was treated but it feels like it shapes who he is i suppose ohh that makes so much more sense now i thought i was just loosing touch with the fandom and not being able to keep up with names, i was never rly good at it. 💀 i was talking about that with a friend recently too tpb used to repeat backstory about characters so much that it became frustrating but the newer books cut back on it and now when they introduce a character you have to really sit and remember it because they arent explaining it EVER again yaaa!!! u get it lol i started reading other YA series i never read as a kid and thought id reread wcs with a friend for the hell of it (and cause i had so many of the books i never got to) and it was great but as soon as i got to new stuff id never read before it kinda lost its charm and i took a break, sometimes you just arent feeling it, tho the longer you wait the more there is to read when you come back to it who knows maybe holly will be back from the dead again or we will get a jay, holly or lion se, were getting an ivy one after all and theres holly and jay content in the bonus scene for tbc 1
that sounds so sweet ToT SOMEDAY ILL FIND THE TIME TO READ AND REREAD THESE NOVELLAS ive forgotten most of them LMFAO. i think the ones i remember most are hollyleaf's, leafpool's, goosefeather's and dovewings which is.. wow. i def dont have a preference
and yes ur def right that the way nightstar was treated added to how he is generally perceived and his character, it kinda reminds me of mudclaw too! (whos manga i have also still Yet to read rip) i feel bad for them both but their unfortunate circumstances are what makes them such interesting characters T-T
i feel like we are old men yelling at the clouds but in a GOOD WAY HAHAHAHA im glad that despite it, we are talking about the series either way so i guess that means we still feel quite passionate about it, whether in positive or negative manner lmaooo
i think whats stopping me from continuing in reading the new books is that i want to reread it from the very start first, so i am very much stuck in my own way khkjahkljf tbh though whenever i see snippets of the new books in socials i actually find them very interesting! but i def also had moments where i just grew tired and felt like getting away from it all. i am praying so fucking hard for more og po3 content i miss them SO damn MUCH WAHHHHHH
speaking of the bonus scenes, a few weeks back i found out i completely forgot they happened! MORE SPECIFICALLY W HOLLYLEAF, WHAT. I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST W JAYFEATHER AND HIM GRIEVING FOR LEAFPOOL. YOURE TELLING ME THERE WAS HOLLY CONTENT TOO??? what the fuck is my brain doing forgetting this information what the hell im such a fake fan TTTTTTOTTTTT

1, 12, and 23 for the oc worldbuilding questions? :)
1.) how would you describe the world your story takes place in? Same kind of world as our universe Except the places you go when you dream? Are in their own dimension/place. If you're an artist/creator you can find dream hotels in this dimension where you can see your creations/ocs in your room. The Bellhops who manage the dream hotels have waking shifts like any work would and these jobs are only taken by people who want to manage the dream hotel. It's hard to prove these hotels actually exist, so they are sort of an urban legend. The dream realm is connected to the Otherworld- if you enter it while dreaming you'll fall into a coma, and if you manage to find and enter it while awake you'll be lost and forgotten forever. I affectionately call it memory hell. Most people in the otherworld have become monsters. 12.) okay be honest. pick a favorite oc from this ocverse. Not even a question, Yuuko!! She's my girl(tm). The only oc in Hotel Storytell that wasn't changed from her initial concept, aka the shady therapist with identity issues. (Except for her name because I sucked at names in 2018) 23.) describe how everyones character gets butchered once in the public eye?
LMAOOO
Eden: Becomes pessimistic for some reason despite being one of the most optimistic characters. Becomes Bellhop's caretaker despite being like 12. Bellhop: Stereotypical airhead, the stupid one. Her adhd is her personality Dr. Leo Worth: I'm guilty of this one but making him super sappy and sentimental over Bellhop. At most he misses the days when they were young, but that's it. Yuuko: Making her bitchy and pushy with Dr Leo Worth or Bellhop. Like no those are the people she wants to protect. Ignoring or overexaggerating her more vulnerable traits (aimless wandering, identity issues, self hatred) Lemon: I'm guilty of this one too. Making him too childish. Sorry I'm not too good with writing kids. Sabrina: Either overexaggerating the uwu cutesy persona (more like her ocs) or making her too confident. Or she's clingy with Zacharie (she just wants to keep in touch with her brother, who is distant). Zacharie: Same as Eden making it a pessimist when they're optimistic. Probably ignoring their nonbinary/demiboy identity. I feel like this is the hotel resident people will gravitate to with shipping. Sora: Really fierce/anger management issues in general. She's sensitive about her art and wants to be acknowledged, that's why she gets mad at Mia. Mia: Making her the smart girlboss. She just happened to become popular on Creativy and has a degree. Bianca: Forgetting that she does remember her friends. Making her a completely innocent bystander who just walked into the Otherworld randomly (She's not, she had an urge to disappear)

Hey about your Yeshua name hc! It reminded me Jesus is called the Morning Star like Lucifer, so it would be funny if they named their kid after Jesus for all the other reasons you mentioned, not knowing that lore, and then a few years later they learn about it 🤣 Lucifer jumpscare
about this post
OH MY GOD YOU'RE RIGHT I'D FORGOTTEN ABOUT THAT LMAOOO
which is actually really funny because in the bible the term morning star is actually used more often for good things in comparison with the one time it is subtly used in order to make a reference to the devil
it's just fascinating to me how that one time eclipsed every other mention of it to the point lucifer is now used as the name for the devil when that's just,,, not really supported in the canon books? or at least not in the ones that are mostly accepted as canon
because it's not even directly about satan! those verses are actually about king nebuchadnezzar! they're talking about how he started thinking so highly of himself because of his own glory that he started to think his throne would be above god's. they're calling him 'shining one and son of the dawn' because he was one of, if not the, most powerful king at that time. that's kind of what lucifer actually means it's not supposed to be a name it's barely a title it was just,, a way to describe someone who had a lot of glory on his name
it does have a double meaning and it's generally agreed upon that it's also talking about the devil but there's almost no evidence to support that Heh·lelʹ or Lucifer was ever meant to be his name at all
so it's just!!! so interesting to me that it completely morphed into becoming his name in the general public knowledge that i completely forgot morning star also was used for jesus even knowing all of this akdjskdnksk
i'm so sorry this was meant to be about michael freaking out he indirectly named his kid after his brother on accident he'd be so mad about it he made all that research and For What >:(
adam wouldn't care as much but he would totally use it to complaint about how michael rejected like 85% of his list of names for not having the meaning and/or vibes he wanted for their kid's name aksjakks

Salty ask game: 9 and 21
Salty ask game answers!!!
Number 9: Most disliked character(s)? Why?
Well I'll start off with an easy one, as we all know I really dislike Nesta. I don't think she's an appealing character and I find her writing to be a bit lacking. Her treatment of the people around her and the justification for it irritates me. And just her dialogue and the way she speaks and thinks of herself is also irksome. All of that is amped up by the things her die hard stans say about both her and the other characters.
Hmm.. I also really fucking hate George from Grey's anatomy. He's just an annoying little cry baby bitch and I wanna bash his head in. Or well I did until the bus did it for me lmaooo.
I also really dislike mcu Steve Rodgers, he's so bland and was very clearly rewritten in the mcu to accommodate to nationalistic "good guy" white men.
OH OH OH AND I HATE HATE HATE HATE MAL FROM SHADOW AND BONE FUCK HIM. I apologize for my out burst I just had forgotten him briefly and then when I remembered that little fuckers name I got excited. He's just such an immature piece of shit and I'm made to feel bad for him and that I should like him because he's "written realistically". And ykw imo that's what makes him worse, he is realistically an asshole and those are the worst types to me. He only loved Alina when she was weak and dependent on him and lashed out at her anytime she stood on her own two feet. His anger and brattiness was fucking ridiculous and obnoxious and I am physically incapable of feeling empathy for that man. He should rot. And wanna know how I know I and the anti mals are right and the Mal stans are wrong? They had to completely alter his character in the show and change any scene where he was a pissy little whoreish cunt to Alina and make him some nice soft simp who understands her perfectly. If he was so good and likable they would have kept him the same as he was in the books, but no they needed to do a complete 180 to make anyone think that Malina isn't a garbage ship. Idc if the darkling was allegedly inspired by Leigh Bardugo's abusive ex boyfriend, I don't care if Nikolai wanted her for power, I don't care if you claim Genya and Zoya are straight. Literally anyone else would have been better.
Number 21: I am not against crack ships and don't have any problems with them, I just think you need to be able to be mindful and respectful to the actual characters. Like I've seen people shipping Tamlin with Feysand's future daughter and that's just fucking disgusting. Like I'm ok with characters that dislike each other or have a negative history together but I think there has to be a limit, like it can't be gross. It can't be shipping someone with an abuser or rapist or someone you know shouldn't be shipped with anyone.

list of pentagon moments that are absurd and don't sound real but that are indeed:
1. kino took pics of shinwon in just his underwear like a proper photoshoot at the dorms and when pentagon hosted a little bazaar among themselves hongseok paid 70.000won to get his hands on that disposable camera. he still owns the pictures
2. them playing a zombie game (completely naked, at that) in the pool deciding they'd be biting each other and whoever was to scream would lose... sounds fake but it happened
3. them playing a game blindfolded, having to guess which member it was - shinwon guessed who hui was just by sticking his fingers up hui's nostrils
4. shinwon convincing hui to buy a box that had nothing but the balenciaga logo on it, telling him that it'd be filled with great, valuable goods. hui paid 50.000won for him to end up finding out it was only filled with paper, (and a piece of paper with some random ass prediction about how hui would have a great year) useless to say hui was NOT happy and side-eyed shinwon for the entire live
5. another one: when they sent wooseok and kino downstairs to get food and then the others were like 'you know what would be fun? let's spank each other and if the person getting spanked doesn't react, they have to switch places.' so the youngest ones got back to the hyungs spanking the shit out of each other. (thank you user ggunight)
6. shinwon changing his ucube nickname for fun and accidentally getting it stolen by someone who didn't want to give it back. he begged for it to be given back before moderators woke up. changed it to pentag0n_신원 (pentag0n_shinwon) while waiting and still... nothing. after two hours of trying he went to sleep and the following day he titled his live 'shinw0n say s0mething'
7. when shinwon asked unis to boo at them @ isac if they made mistakes. unis started booing so much that fans of other groups were wondering what the hell was wrong with ptg's fandom...... also pentagon spent 90% of their time doing everything other than focusing. let's not forget when they were fooling around jinho's shoe accidentally hit a group's member and he decided to buy them sweets to make up for it lmao
8. yanan literally implying that marriage is a trap on weibo (and he is absolutely right)
9. hui saying he saves demos with keyboard smashes a lot of the time to the point where many songs get lost or forgotten...... praying for the bangers that will never see the light
10. a few months ago cube signed a deal with tipco, importing juice from thailand. shinwon started drinking their orange juice like crazy to the point the company emptied their stocks to send him a wall of juice boxes. it didn't end there though..... my boy started reviewing their juice flavors and that entire free promotion scored pentagon a deal with the company, that decided to make them their brand ambassadors lmaooo
11. changgu was in the practice room doing some aerobic exercises he'd never done before and got injured, and because yanan didn't know how to speak korean well when he first got to south korea, he hurriedly rushed to shinwon and told him that changgu was dead and shinwon was like WHAT??????? jwkdhwkdjks
12. hui and shinwon tried communicating with a fan subbing their livestream in real time and completely lost it when the fan replied as if they'd just discovered the peak of technology lmaoooo
13. yanan pranking wooseok by turning off the boiler four times, the two of them having a conversation about the degrees of the water and wooseok consequently locking yanan on the balcony with his underwear only to get back at him
14. shinwon said when unis meet him they can greet each other, like, in a code. universe can say 'skrrrt' very quietly and he'll reply with 'skrrrt skrrrt' 😭
[i will keeping updating this]

KONOHA ELEVEN IN A ZOOM CLASS!
FEATURING: naruto, sakura, shikamaru, ino, choji, hinata, kiba, shino, neji, rock lee, and tenten
WARNINGS: mentions of food
Tumblr media
NARUTO
definitely has forgotten that he was unmuted multiple times
or his camera was accidentally turned on
you could just see him sprawled on his bed with a bowl of instant ramen on his lap and a blanket wrapped around himself
EARRAPE SLURPS!! rip headphone users.
sometimes he notices that his camera’s turned on and you can see him freak out and scramble to turn it off
but he accidentally unmutes himself too and so you just hear panicked yelling
his device topples to the floor with a loud crash and he screams so loud istg
the next thing you see is naruto’s face hovering over the camera in fear just before his camera turns off and he’s muted again
the teacher is so confused?? naruto should i call an ambulance
but when he’s not eating in class, he’s sleeping in class
too busy sleeping to leave the zoom at the end of class so he’s always the last one left in the meeting besides the teacher
always asks sakura what happened during the zoom and she is FED UP
SAKURA
enters the waiting room 15 minutes before class is actually supposed to begin
spends the next 15 minutes rearranging her work area, making sure she’s prepared for the day
sits properly at her desk with her hair smoothed down and her face positioned perfectly in frame
if no one else has their camera on, she’s the only one with it on
seriously, she ALWAYS HAS IT ON
and she never leaves the screen somehow
diligently takes notes, uses the “raise hand” feature every two minutes to ask a question
sometimes it can get a bit annoying, even for the teacher
but she almost always gets perfect marks
acts like in angel in class, but after class... no promises, naruto!
SHIKAMARU
this man can barely stay awake during missions, so during a zoom? HECK NAH
shikamaru is literally me,, half asleep during lessons but somehow gets amazing grades
everyone’s either pissed at or envious of him (especially naruto)
obviously does not have his camera on
and rarely ever unmutes
uses the chat feature to answer the teacher’s questions but this man is basically asleep so its so incoherent
“shikamaru, what is a hyperbole?”
in chat: “a hyeprbole is a exsaggerayed phras,e”
teacher definitely thinks he’s cheating on tests
INO
either a) daydreaming about boys or b) checking herself out in the zoom camera OR c) secretly fuming at sakura’s know-it-all behavior
the two girls definitely compete to see who can raise their virtual hand first
"ahem, ahem- sensei? could i answer this question?"
her voice gets all sickly sweet and sakura HATES IT
the two of them totally got caught insulting each other in the private chat
100% the type of student to rewrite her notes after classes with various markers and colored pens and pretty fonts and patterns and whatnot
loves doodling flowers in her notebook during boring lessons!
CHOJI
another strong contender for the Loudest Student award!
not on purpose though, he just forgets that space bar = unmute, and plays some jumping game in another tab (like the no internet dino game!)
also,, rip headphone users
c r o n c h munch munch munch
are you kidding this man's chews are loud enough in person, but with a HEADSET?! hoo boy.
has conked out several times during class
just imagine the name Choji Akimichi with a profile picture of a bag of chips light up with the green box around it with a thunk
the teacher and class is so confused
but then you hear mumbles of "barbeque... chips... barbeque..."
and you realize that the man fell asleep onto his keyboard
he sleeps through the rest of class
HINATA
shy bb has never ONCE turned on her camera
the only time she's ever unmuted was to say "here" during attendance on the first day of school
if the teacher ever takes attendance again, she just uses the raise hand feature
what if naruto-kun thinks my voice is ugly? what if i accidentally turn on my camera? what if the teacher thinks i'm not paying attention? what if-
poor baby is too busy worrying about showing herself on zoom to actually pay attention
actually gets good grades though and her classmates wonder if she’s even there
her zoom pfp is definitely just a purple google “H”
KIBA
has the CUTEST zoom pfp hands down
it’s a selfie of him grinning cheerily with baby akamaru
100% has his camera on the whole time to show off his pup
he loves seeing everyone’s faces on screen melt and aww at the lil big doggo
sometimes akamaru just walks in front of the camera and blocks kiba from view and you just see a massive wall of white fur on screen LMAO
even though kiba’s muted, you can see him and akamaru bickering about who knows what
or even play fighting,, these two get into full on BRAWLS during class
just imagine akamaru shoves kiba into his desk and his camera crashes to the ground overturned so you see the ceiling and the occasional dog tail wagging in the corner
seriously, can the teacher ever catch a break with this class?
the answer is no.
SHINO
his zoom pfp is just a tick.
a singular tick
totally answers questions in chat with proper capitalization and punctuation
shikamaru’s improper answers tick him off
“A hyperbole is an expression that is greatly exaggerated. They are used in order to create emphasis.”
has never unmuted in his life either
he’s so unfazed by everything that goes down in class that it’s funny
if anything the slightest bit RELATED to bugs comes up during class, in 0.00238 seconds this man has an entire essay about them posted in chat, almost like he had it copied and READY to paste
everyone's definitely shocked that there’s actually a human listening behind a tick profile picture
NEJI
a very diligent note taker
seriously, this man writes like a printer; perfectly even handwriting that looks like a font, a million words per minute
everyone asks him for his notes after the zoom because they’re so neat (especially naruto, to neji’s dismay)
he gets excellent grades since he’s so organized and focused
just wishes the zoom would be over so he can work alone in peace
really hates unmuting so he often gives one-word answers in the chat
“Yes” “47” “Present” “Goodbye”
has used a zoom reaction ONCE in his life and he has never wanted to crawl into a hole and perish more
it was a complete accident,, mans was just trying to open the chat to type in his answer, but in a cruel twist of fate he clicked on the 😂 reaction
and he just sat there for ten excruciating seconds in complete and utter shock and shame for ten excruciating seconds as he prayed for it to disappear
tenten would never let him live that down
ROCK LEE
Zoom Reaction Enthusiast
😂😮👍🎉❤️ 24/7
naruto accidentally unmutes himself? 😮
choji falls asleep on his keyboard? 😂
neji answers something correctly? 👍
tenten received the highest score in class? 🎉
akamaru appears on screen? ❤️
unmutes whenever he needs to, but he thinks the little emoticons are so silly and cute
otherwise, he is EXTRA FOCUSED and EXTREMELY DETERMINED to learn all of the things
he’s the first to unmute whenever the teacher asks if the class can see the screen share, hear them correctly, etc.
never takes his eyes off the screen!! he could be missing out on important information
I FEEL LIKE,, i feel like he would totally keep his camera off when he’s muted but whenever he unmutes he would also turn his camera on
so when he says a quick “yes!” his camera turns on but before his camera can adjust properly to the light he mutes and turns his camera back off so his face is just super dark for a split second LMAOOO
tell me im wrong
TENTEN
exasperated by this entire class
thinks her and neji are the only sane ones in the class and it’s true
wants to tell sakura and ino to stop competing and just focus on learning, since they’re the only other girls in the class besides hinata
plus she’s just fed up with all the lazy boys
takes great pride in passing every assignment, test, or exam with flying colors
teachers pet, but the quieter type who stays after every zoom and sends lots of emails regarding assignments and grades and whatnot (unlike sakura and ino who rub it in the teacher’s face)
doesn’t like helping other people besides neji, girl’s got a soft spot for him since they have a mutual respect for each other
but if you’re a handsome prince, maybe she’ll help you out!
Tumblr media
if you enjoyed this post, likes and reblogs are much appreciated :) feel free to request here, and make sure to read the rules first! have a lovely day everyone <3

Fireflies: Morro x Reader
-i was originally writing this on a whim but saw a request and was like, okay this fits PERFECTLY for that request, so here ya go -okay don’t judge me but I think Morro’s cool -banc is some random guy i made up just now lmaooo -you’re an elemental master and Morro’s childhood friend because yeahhhh
Summary: Humans are insignificant, tiny beings. Your time is drawing near and you’re sure your life was a waste.
Dreams were powerful. They became the very thing that drove people to the edge. But they were also the very thing that drove people forward, and taught them to keep looking up in the dark. When you were young, you used to wish upon a star. You used to lay awake at night, staring at the ceiling in thought.
Now, you couldn’t. Your breaths began to slow, your eyes fluttered open and closed. This was the final blow. Your final stand. Was it really okay to be out here all alone? At least you had the stars and the moon to keep you company. They had lit your way and guided you to your target. If it weren’t for those tiny little specks above, you wouldn’t have completed the stupid mission.
Sometimes you wondered if things could have been different. Before you left the monastery, you should have given Morro a tighter hug, a longer smile, a bigger laugh. You should have told your sensei how much you adored having him around, how much you admired and respected him for what he did. You should have sent another letter to Garmadon and written about how boring it was without having him around.
There were so many things left unsaid. Unwritten. Forgotten. Why didn’t you cling tighter to them?
“(Y/n)!”
Your breath hitched. Was that...?
“(Y/N)!”
You let out a strangled wheeze. “M-Morro...” The grass parted around you and swished with the breeze. He collapsed by your side, heaving and mumbling under his breath. “What happened?” he demanded. “Where were you?! We captured that guy, but then you just disappeared!” Morro didn’t even try to hide the fear in his voice as he ripped his sleeve and tied it around your wounds.
The man you were trying to catch was a serial killer. You thought he was some lowly idiot, but it turned out he had an entourage of killing machines. He experimented on them, and that gave them abilities no normal people should possessed. “Morro...” You winced. “Leave. That guy, he...he has these people who...”
“Just shut up.” His was holding back tears. “You aren’t dying on me, and even if that guy had backup, you bet Sensei won’t have trouble taking them out. I’m bringing you home, so don’t you dare sleep on me.” You intertwined your bloody hand with his. “Morro, please. Go.” He clenched his teeth.
“No!” His voice came out harsh, but you knew it was good-natured. “I’m not leaving you! Not again.” You turned to stare at the starry sky. What was Morro referring to? Whatever it was felt like so long ago--or was that just your hazy memory? No, you had incredible memory.
“(Y/n), stay awake!”
You were sleepy. The stars were beginning to fade, along with Morro’s beautiful eyes glazed over with tears. Fireflies rose from the grass, fluttering past your view in little specks of light. You wondered what it felt like to be so free and insignificant. They had no responsibilities, no nothing save for living.
What did that feel like?
“Hey...” you whispered. “Remember that time you...helped me up...after I...after I scraped my knee?” Morro squeezed your hand, but it was like he hadn’t at all. Your limbs were numb in pain.
“What are you talking about?” he demanded. “Save your strength--”
You laughed and it was melancholy and broken and sad and all the things Morro wished he never heard. This wasn’t you. It wasn’t what he wanted for you. The sky was blurring in a mix of pale moonlight and scattered dots of stars. You thought back to that day, the one where you had scrapped your knee.
Blood gushed out of the tattered skin. You winced, wishing with bitter regret that you hadn’t overstepped your attack. It wouldn’t have happened if you were paying more attention, but how could you when Morro was so attractively distracting?
He glanced at you from over his shoulder and paused. “Hold on,” he told his sparring partner. You blew on the open wound. Maybe it would help ease the pain, you weren’t sure. “First Spinjitzu Master, urgh.”
Morro knelt by your side, eyes all soft and warm. “You’re such a clutz sometimes.” You huffed. “I wouldn’t be if you weren’t so freaking...” Heat rose to your cheeks, reddening them like apples. There was no way you’d openly admit he made you trip over your own two feet.
“’So freaking’ what?” he inquired, raising a brow. Your rosy cheeks darkened and Morro let out a bright laugh. “Wait here.” He stood and hurried inside the monastery. His sparring partner, Banc, sent you big thumbs up. You rolled your eyes at him and threw your scabbard at him. He easily caught it with a smirk grin.
“When are you going to tell him?”
You raised a brow. “Tell him what?”
“That you like him.” Banc said it like it was the mot obvious thing in all of Ninjago, but it wasn’t like he was wrong. Sensei Wu saw it, Garmadon saw it, everyone saw it. What a miracle it would be if it was a secret, or at least a quiet thing.
“Morro’s the only one who doesn’t realise it.” you muttered. Banc rolled his eyes. “Then tell him! I’ll go insane if you keep your mouth shut for another day.” The Monastery doors opened and Morro jogged out with a wet handkerchief and a bandage. “I don’t mean to keep you guys waiting,” he said, “but this is important.”
“To you.” Banc jested. Morro rolled his eyes playfully. He knelt back by your side and gently wiped the wound. “(Y/n) could die if the wound gets infected, so it’s important anyway.” You snorted. “A wound’s not going to kill me.”
“It very well could if one is not careful.”
You turned to look at the open doors. Sensei waltzed out, bamboo staff in one hand and straw hat in the other. His bag, heavy around his shoulders, was big and filled with as much stuff as he could fit. You wondered if it was because of tea or scrolls. “Are you going somewhere?”
He nodded. “I’m afraid so. In the mean time, I hope you all come to realise what’s hidden under the surface. Whether it be hidden feelings,” he cast you a knowing look, “or personal progression. Keep the Monastery tidy and please don’t forget to pickle the vegetables. I’d hate not to have any pickled radish without my rice.”
You all shared a good-natured chuckle. Morro wrapped your knee in a bandage and turned to glance at Sensei with curious eyes. They sparkled like the clouds in the rising sunlight, just like little nuggets of gold. “What do you mean by ‘hidden feelings’?” Sensei smiled warmly. “You will have to find that out on your own. I’ll be off now, you will see me in seven days’ time.”
The moment Sensei disappeared down the front steps and Banc had closed the doors tight, silence fell over you three. Banc kept looking at you with that stupid grin of his and you had to admit, it was getting annoying. Whenever Morro turned his back to you, he motioned for you to tell him.
An hour passed, then five and six. The sun began to set along the horizon, and that was when Banc decided it was high time you fulfilled your task.
“Morro,” Banc announced. “(Y/n) has something to tell you.”
At the foot of the mountain, you lay in a large field. Morro was on your right, and Banc on your left. The fireflies that flitted past your vision were as bright as the stars, maybe even brighter. A single one landed on your nose and Morro couldn’t help but think about how beautiful you were in that moment.
“What do you want to tell me?” he inquired. You stared at the lone firefly, cheeks a dim red in its glow. “Uh...it’s...it’s nothing.”
“Are you sure? Banc looks like he wants to yell at you.” he said with a chuckle. The firefly launched off your nose and joined its family in a swarm of bright specks of light.
“Okay, okay. Maybe I do have something to say. It’s just that I...uh...I...”
A soft smile rested upon your lips. “You didn’t...didn’t forget that day...did you?” Morro touched his forehead to yours. His tears glistened in the moonlight and touched your cheeks like a misty morning drizzle. “No,” he whispered. “Of course I didn’t forget. How...how could I?”
You released one of his hands and shakily placed it on his damp cheeks. This was it, nothing else could stop time and save you from your last moments. No magic, no element, no god would or could come to your aid. But that was okay. As long as you Morro stayed right here in these moments, you’d be happy.
Happy. What a funny word.
“I...I don’t want to die.” Your voice cracked and Morro didn’t ignore it. “I don’t want you to die either.”
“What...what will...happen when I’m dead?” Morro heaved in a sharp breath and shook his head. “You won’t die,” --he chocked back a sob-- “I won’t let you.” That was a lie. Even though he didn’t want you to die, how could he save you? Morro was the Master of Wind, not death or resurrection. There wasn’t anything to do, no matter what he said.
“When...when I’m gone...promise you’ll...move on?”
A look of horror snapped through his eyes, as if he couldn’t bear the thought of ever having to let you go. It wasn’t what he did. How could he when you were his light, his life? If you hadn’t been around, then he would have died trying to prove Destiny wrong.
“I...I love you Morro.”
“I love you more.” He pulled you close into the security of his arms and hugged you tight. “But please, please don’t go.” You smiled again with the last of your strength. It was all you could do when the world was fading, blurring into dots and colours.
You shut your eyes. Your hand went limp.
Morro stilled and tightened his hold on your dead body. Fireflies flew past him in glowing paths of specks. A single firefly landed on your nose, illuminating the dried splatter of blood on your cheeks. In that moment, he couldn’t help but notice how beautiful you were.
“I love you (Y/n). I love you more than anything in Ninjago.”

HC for Ethan watching fifty shades of grey for the first time with Becca
ahahahha ok fair warning i haven’t watched 50 shades in about a year bc cam can’t stand it lmaooo ok here we go!
@openheartheadcanons: ethan x f!mc domestic, light nsfw
Ethan x Becca Watch 50 Shades of Grey
Ethan vehemently refused.
He doesn’t know much about the franchise, but he knows enough. Knows it’s a form of cringeworthy pornography that appeals exclusively to older women. He will not partake or even entertain this. Even going so far as to question what actors would subject themselves to this degradation. It’ll follow them their entire careers, should they still have one.
What kind of person would make such a thing?
Becca’s response confirmed his assumption.
Still, for all his protests - maybe in spite of them - she booted the movie up. Grabbed a blanket, some chocolate.
Ethan, resigned and huffing, wrapped himself around her on the L-shaped sofa.
Oh, god. It’s practically unwatchable. A ditzy girl falling into her future lover? An overused and baseless trope. Who’d fall for shit like this?
He finds many moments like these unwatchable. So he tunes the film out and just watches Becca.
Her big doe eyes glued to the screen. Her lips parted as her fingers mindlessly suspend an M&M between them. How she waits for them to finally kiss before popping it in and chewing.
There’s a lot about this story Ethan cannot stand.
Yet there’s something in the music and the way Becca’s nuzzling in closer. Her hips wiggling into the cushion and twining her fingers with his.
Mischief courses through him. If he had to be subjected to this at least he could have some fun.
The movie’s forgotten as he situates her between his legs better. His hands caressing the tense muscles of her shoulders in the spots he knows she gets knots. Then trailing her body at just the right moments. Teeth nipping at her earlobe. Soft open kisses along her neck.
Not too much. He doesn’t want to distract her just yet. He may hate this film but he loves winding her up.
Before the last scene - or maybe there was more, Ethan doesn’t care to know; this movie’s been going on long enough as is - Becca turns to kiss him. Hard. Enough to know they won’t be leaving this couch.
