dazai chuckles.

he never gets mad, he thinks it's cute how the littlest of things can distract you.

"dazai, look!" you would point at a rock, "hm~ what exactly am i looking at?"

"that rock has a paint stain!"

dazai: 🙃

"it's a pretty stain indeed, it would catch my eye as well~"

"it was never there before!" you laughed.

he brings you back to reality.

usually when there's a meeting, that he's actually apart of??

all he needs to do is softly take your cheek and pull your face toward his, "i know this topic isn't up to your excitement, but after this we can do out for ice cream! my treat~"

now your shaking in your seat with a huge smile on your face, waiting for this meeting to end.

kunikida doesn't know if he should "thank" or whack dazai for his actions

you zone out a lot when on the job, so dazai was assigned to aid you and help you try to pay more attention,

but come on, he didn't even try and just took in the time he had with you<3

he walked beside you, eyeing you as you looked to the right and zoned out for a second.

the moment you got to the wall in front of you, he pulled you in his direction and turned in the hall away,

"dumbass, watch where you're going!" he would scold, but sigh in the end, knowing what he'll say will go from one ear and out the other.

so he just tries to keep you undistracted when there's something important going on.

during a meeting and your zoning out, mori would look at your boyfriend and eye you, causing him to look at you and groan.

you were playing with the rim of your coat. smiling at the ends bounce up and down.

chuuya took your hand and pointed at the boss as you followed his finger, "this is for your next mission! if you don't want to get yourself killed because "you forgot" don't expect me to rescue your ass!"

we all know he will anyway if you really needed his help.

he kinds it cute when you zone out when your bored.

your eyes are just glued to anything, the wall, the floor, the tv, a piece of furniture, or even him.

he once caught you starting at him, and he hasn't told you

"you're so cute~" he would kiss your temple as your zoned out, and that would knock you out of your trance, "hm? what did you say chuuya?"

"i said 'i like your boots'"

sometimes he gets annoyed. but he also knows your trying your best to not get distracted by the smallest of things so much, so he's not as annoyed.

"dude, is your partner okay?" tachihara would whisper over to chuuya, who looked up from his book and saw you laid down on the floor staring at the ceiling.

your body in a star position.

"they're fine. don't worry, i'm used to it."

well that just makes it better!!

"done! babe, have you finished your papers?" atsushi peeks over your shoulder to see nothing but a blank page.

cue his shocked face thingy idk but he makes that face

"y/n! i gave you one page to finish-"

atsushi saw your eyes locked onto the door, watching it open and close each time someone walked through it in and out.

the pen in your hand spun arouns your fingers as your other hand was resting on your chin.

with a sigh, he would take your paper and finish it for you.

moments after just looking at you, not in a weird way but in a way to see when you'll get out of your trance, your boyfriend tickles your sides..

that brought you back.

"AHA! bahahabe?!"

you giggled as you rubbed your sides, looking at atsushi who smiled at you, hands resting above his stomach in a claw form.

"sorry, but you we're zoning out again! you really do get distracted easily."

you felt..flustered. you didn't know why, it just..made you blush each time he catches you zone out.

you look back at your paper to see he's done it for you already

"oh, i'm sorry.."

he would kiss your lips each time you would apologize, "don't be. it's cute. also, you can't help it. that's nothing to be sorry for. all we can do is help you try to get better!"

that took longer then he thought-

"okay, so what we need to get is milk, eggs, and- BABE DON'T WALK INTO THAT FRUIT STAND-"

he pulled you back, causing you to squeak as your back landed into his chest.

"huh?"

atsushi looks to see what you were looking at and it was the window. must've seen something that caught their eye.

never gets angry with you, but gets tired out having to look over you everyday.

but hes grown used to it, and finds you 10x more adorable<3

"y/n- are you paying attention to a single i'm saying?!" kunikida scolded you, and ranpo answered for you, "nope. they're not!"

your boyfriend was sitting beside you while you had your head resting on your arms, looking out the window that shined bright behind the closed curtain.

the moment you felt him tug on your nose, you rocket upward and sneezed.

"huh- what? i'm here!"

"of course you're here, however your mind is else where~" ranpo teased gently tapping on your forehead.

he knows all the time when your about to zone out, ot get distracted for a long period of time so he plans ahead.

"y/n! there you are- i'm all out of candy! can you run to the store and get me some?" he would ask the moment your about to zone out.

with a smile on your face, you agreed. leaving him feeling successful.

he finds it cute.

he doesn't even get mad at you, he just giggles and pokes your arm, leg, side, cheek, anywhere!

always keeps you on your feet so it's kinda hard for you to get distracted, however he doesn't control you.

when your on break, he sometimes catches you staring into space, or about to fall asleep due to how long you've zoned out for..

he catches you staring at him all the time, and he 100% teases you for it.

"did you know i have the cutest partner in the world~"

you shake your head.

he kisses your lips, "never change, sweetheart~"

he snaps his fingers in front of your face.

"i asked you once already, pay attention, y/n!"

you blink at him, nodding your head.

2 minutes later he notices you've zoned out again.

he honestly doesn't know what to do other then to snap you back to reality.if yourhe doesn't know how to help, so when this happens more then twice a day he's kinda pissed.

but your his partner, so he can't stay mad at you forever<3

he tries to be softer when you, "y/n, this information's important, you have to-"

"they're not listening man-" chuutya butss in,

"i know that!" he glares at the gravity manipulater, and just lets you be.

when he see's you zoning out but nothing serious is happening, he'll kinda just look at you and try to figure out what's got you so fixated.

won't admit it, but they way your so focused is cute to him.

"what are you looking at?" he asked, standing behind you and tried to look in your direction...that just lead to you screaming, finally realizing he's there and punch him.

"omg- aku, i'm so sorry! are you okay- here let me-"

"i'm perfectly fine! don't touch me!"

it hurts, please hold me-

your zoning out and about to go to sleep- he'll wait to you go to sleep and either wrap a blanket around or kiss your temple whle walking out of the room.

he kinda just lives with the way you are, and would be pretty upset if you changed on him all of a sudden.

does GL have tea parties with Elise and the other children-? Is Mori forced to join the tea parties-? When Mori cant make it who is substituted in for him or do they just leave his spot open?

They do.

Elise, Kyuusaku, Aya, Katsumi, Shinji, Sakura, Yu and Kousuke are having tea parties from time to time. And they often offer GL and other BSD Characters to join them. So, if any of the adults want to join them, they always have an open spot.

Some interesting bits about some characters:

Who joins often:

1. Guiding Light - will tell kids stories from the real world.

2. Oda Sakunosuke - he can be so serious, it looks funny.

3. Ivan Goncharov - he will take tea preparations upon himself.

4. Mori Ougai - will let kids braid his hair or make pigtails.

5. Ranpo Edogawa - need constant supervision, so he won't eat all snacks.

6. Kouyou Ozaki - she is surprisingly good with kids.

7. Akiko Yosano - will insist on more healthier snacks, but, won't spoil the fun.

8. Bram Stoker - will join, only if Aya present. Actually, quite good caretaker.

9. Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald - he was a father, so, he knows, how to host a tea party for children.

10. Kenji Miyazawa - just likes to play with kids.

11. Kyouka Izumi - she is on a quiet side, but, will gladly join the tea party.

12. Karma - keep an eye on kids during tea parties.

13. Fyodor Dostoevsky - will join only if you present and if he wants tea. A little bit passive, but, will let kids hide under his coat.

14. Nikolai Gogol - will make a little circus show for kids.

15. Fukuzawa Yukichi and Fukuchi Ouchi - will be bombarded with questions about their past.

16. Dazai Osamu - perfect, if tea party have a role play element. Will be overdramatic, but kids adore him.

17. Atsushi Nakajima - likes to play with kids.

18. Tanizaki siblings - Junchirou will make snacks and use his ability to live things up. Naomi is good at having a small talk.

19. Kirako Haruno, Louisa May Alkott and Edgar Allan Poe - a little bit awkward around kids, but, not against joining the game.

20. Sigma - it was a surprise, but kids always listen to him. Mostly joins for cookies.

21. Flags - good with dealing with kids, especially teens.

22. Ryunosuke Akutagawa - sometimes, can be a good babysitter. Will make a hammock from Rashomon for kids' entertainment.

23. Gin Akutagawa - better, then her brother. Will bring good tea.

24. Chuuya Nakahara - will join, only if GL are here. Will make table and chairs float. Not that interested in game itself, but won't spoil the fun.

Who won't join as often as they can:

1. Doppo Kunikida and Nathaniel Hawthorne - will join only if they are looking after kids today and there's no other adults. Still, they are good at playing along.

2. Katai Tayama - he is not good with kids. But, he will find cartoons or films for kids to watch.

3. Paul Verlaine and Arthur Rimbaud - join even lesser, then Kunikida and Hawthorne. Don't think, that they are good with kids.

4. André Gide - doesn't think, that he deserves to join kids' game.

Who are forbidden to join:

1. Tetchou Suehiro - problem is in his eating habits. He did it a couple of times on a tea party and kids decided to copy him. Only Elise didn't get a stomach ache. Since then, Tetchou isn't allowed to join tea parties without supervision.

2. Alexander Pushkin - he is bad in controlling his tongue and will talk about something inappropriate. And we aren't talking about swearing. Pushkin might start talking about neighbors, and who were with whom. And kids are like sponges. When Sakura, after a tea party with Pushkin, start asking Oda and you, if your neighbor really doesn't know, who is the father of her children, and what clients she brings home, you two almost strangle Pushkin. He isn't allowed to interact with kids without supervision.

Who aren't allowed to join at the same time:

Karma, Fyodor and Guiding Light

Because, when Shinji invite you three, that happened:

Everyone: drinking tea

Shinji: talking to you I am so glad, that you three start spending time as family. Finally, you and Fyodor stop neglecting your son Karma.

You, Karma and Fyodor almost chocked on your teas. It takes five minutes for your three to start breathing normally.

Karma is scared and try to hide behind his tea cup.

Fyodor never looked that shocked before. He is looking at Shinji, but can't form a single word.

You were just trying to say something.

You: "Wh... Who? Us... Our? Whom?... Wh... What..? Karma? Ours..?"

Shinji: didn't realize, that situation became this Yes! You wanted to save Karma, and Fyodor did it. You two saved him. Like Oda saved us. So, he is yours now.

Tea party come to an end. Karma couldn't look at you or Fyodor for a week.

Osamu and Nikolai, who, somehow, learn about this situation, were teasing you and Fyodor about, who will be 'stay at home parent' and who will be a 'breadwinner' for the two weeks.

2023 Wrapped!

A total of 8 fics this year! And I just barely hit my resolution of 150k posted. These stats are insane, by the way, utterly insane. I never expected anything to hit like smarch/kinktober did this year. Fucking wild.

After the jump is a list of the fics this year and a few thoughts on each. A big thanks to everyone for reading this year, and here's to a fic-filled 2024!

stop time, your hand in mine (文豪ストレイドッグス | Bungou Stray Dogs) (7,257 words)

First fic of the year, and the one that really and truly jumpstarted sskk² stories. I'd dabbled a little prior to this, but really the only thing that existed was the origin fic from 2022, when Acchan and Ryuu-chan were infants.

chase forever down (文豪ストレイドッグス | Bungou Stray Dogs) (70,985 words)

Holy moly, y'all love vampire fics. The amount of tags this fic got when Things Went Down in S5 still makes me laugh. This is my favorite fic of this year tho, because I had so much fun writing it.

southern air (文豪ストレイドッグス | Bungou Stray Dogs) (12,557 words)

Pure fluff exuding from every pore. Fun family shenanigans. I love writing sskk² it's just so healing.

crossing paths (文豪ストレイドッグス | Bungou Stray Dogs) (8,728 words)

SSKK will always be my BSD otp, but I love me some chuuatsu. Doubt it's the last time I'll write some, but I know its reach is limited.

My sskkbb23 entry, of course more sskk². I really like taking SSKK and showing them possible futures, have you all noticed this, lol.

I honestly and truly did not expect this fic to juggernaut. I have a chat from before kinktober started being all, "well I don't think it will be as popular as chase forever down..." and y'all came in like a wrecking ball and showed me how wrong I was. I am so glad this hit and hit strong for people.

all the love in my heart (文豪ストレイドッグス | Bungou Stray Dogs) (4,428 words)

Technically this counts as more than one fic but I don't like to list typetriggers separately. Just a bunch of little bites of sskk² goodness, from kid sillies to adults getting their alone time.

If you can't tell I very much love writing kid logic, and Acchan and Ryuu-chan are just full of it. The best part about writing sskk² fic to me is watching how the characters have changed and settled into new roles in their lives. (And also trying to figure out what new chaos Acchan can kick up, that kid is indestructible and has no sense of self-preservation. Nor what is actually food.)

Although I’m a Caregiver Chuuya loyalist, I will admit that part 7 of the classification au has been my favourite so far. I’ve read the whole thing like 3 times.

I really hope we get more pre ADA stories but I will say I am excited to see more of Kunikida specifically. The fact that you characterised him as a gentle but no-nonsense caregiver is so perfect for him. Also the fact that he seems to approach taking care of Dazai from a completely different angle than Chuuya is going to be an interesting adjustment for the baby. I’ve already started to imagine a slight clash in the future between Kunikida and Chuuya as they struggle to coparent. Nothing hostile, but I like to think they’d be put off by the other at least at the beginning, and their approaches to caregiving. I like to think of a scenario where Chuuya’s with a regressed Ranpo, who mentions the time Kunikida put Dazai in time out, but his 5 year old communication skills and Chuu’s protectiveness and temper leading him to quickly jump to the conclusion that time out is something that Kunikida practices with Babyzai and goes full 👹 mode, losing his cool completely at least for a little while. Adult Dazai would probably find it hysterical that his ‘dog’ was so protective over him— only for it to lead to some fluff.

That aside, thank you for writing the classification au, it actually made me start watching BSD to begin with and it’s easily my favourite agere fic!

We will definitely get more ADA stories, I have at least two more ideas and I’m sure I’ll come up with more

I’m sure there will definitely be conflict later on. Kunikida will eventually learn Dazai did have another caregiver, but he won’t talk about him and obviously Dazai has signs of at the bare minimum emotional abuse, of course Kunikida will assume his previous caretaker wasn’t great. And I’m sure all Chuuya needs to hear is ‘Dazai’ and ‘time out’ in the same sentence before he goes ape shit 😭 they’ll work it out without having a custody battle

I’m so glad you like the series 😭🩷 it always blows my mind when i hear people started watching bsd because of it and im always wondering how skewed your expectations were 😭 Dazai isn’t the main character and Chuuya only in it for a collective 14 minutes and 28 seconds

Hunting dogs in a nutshell part 5

"Jesus christ, Jouno!!! Your freaking psychotic!!" "He was making the room smell! Did you really expect me to deal with the smell Y/n!?" "Yes!!" The 2 hunting dog members were arguing. They were waiting for Tecchou to heal up. A nurse with a healing ability managed to heal Tecchou's broken back. "You guys are disgusting. I swear to god!" "Jouno stop it!! You sound like a bitch, actually, you are a bitch!!"

"Oh you mother f-" "Jouno...." both hunting dogs immediately shut up once they hear Fukuchi's voice. "Hello captain. what brings you here?" Jouno asked. Y/n rolled their eyes at Jouno'a sudden change of attitude. "I need you to gather information about the detective agency." Said Fukuchi. "Alright? But what about Tecchou?" Y/n asked. "He'll join you guys once he wakes up." "Ok..."

Jouno and Y/n just walked out, but a sudden noise was made when they exited the room. "PLUM BLOSSOMS IN THE SNOW!"

'SKEECH'

"Fukichi!?" They ran back in the room to see their leader on the floor. His life flashed before his eyes as he almost got stabbed from an unconscious person. They also see a sword that was stuck in the wall. "Oh... sorry captain." Tecchou said, retracting his sword from the wall. "Well good morning sleeping beauty!" Y/n elbowed Jouno in the stomach once he said that. Tecchou was so obvious that he would respond back without being insulted or anything. "Good morning..." "How's your back?" Y/n asked. "It's alright I guess. And Jouno, I forgive you. You were only trying to help with my workout." Said Tecchou. An irk was on Jouno's head, his smile was twitching as well. Jouno was so fed up with his weird oblivious shit.

"Well, glad to hear that. We have a misson to do, so get your ass up." "Yes ma'am/sir."

After Tecchou got in his uniform they left the building and headed towards the coffee shop. "Sooo what are we doing?" "We are going to interrogate the old man at the Cafe."

.....

"I swear I don't know where they are!" "Tsk tsk tsk, more lies I see." Jouno was interrogating the fuck out of the old man. Wasn't even giving the old man a break. Tecchou just sipped on his coffee and watched in silence, Y/n was doing the same. Y/n felt bad because they know damn well how far Jouno would go to break your mental state. "Jouno, don't you think that's enough?" "Quiet Tecchou." "Tecchou is right, we've been here for almost a while and the old man's gonna have a heart attack if you keep going at it." Jouno scoffed at the two. Jouno just kept going and going until he finally shuts up. Tecchou stabbed him in the foot. "Ow!!" Jouno yelped in pain, almost spilling his drink. "I am sorry for my partners behavior. I promise you that Lucy will be safe. I always keep my promises." Tecchou said.

Y/n felt they were gonna cry for how cute and caring Tecchou is. The old man finally calms down and tells them the location. "Your kidding right?" Y/n asked, the old man shook his head. He wasn't kidding at all, Jouno was so close to losing his shit. "Well, thank you for your time. We will be off now." Tecchou said, walking out of the Cafe with the other two following behind. "The Casino? Why would they be there?" "Probably to hide, Y/n. Now, before we continue our hunting I need to let out some steam..." Jouno said with a dark expression. It then got completely silent at the moment.

"...."

"Come here you mother fu-" "Jouno no!!" Jouno tackled Tecchou to the ground and started beating the shit out of him. "JOUNO WHAT THE FU-"

I was watching extraordinary attorney woo and then there this one scene in EP 2 that I absolutely love and want to have a bsd rendition of

Basically the reader and the guys (Dazai and kunikida separately) have to go undercover in a hotel for an investigation. They decided to go as a couple who's going to get married since the hotel is known for it wedding services.

Reader tries out a wedding dress while he subtly collect info. Hcs for how they react to seeing their crush in a wedding dress 👀

a/n : hey, first of all thank you !! i'm glad you liked them <3 second, i just started watching this k-drama !! + at first… i didn’t read “hcs”, so there also scenarios about this :”) hope you don’t mind. by the way, in these one-shots + hcs the wedding outfit isn't described, so it can be interpreted as a suit/tuxedo, a bridal gown or another item of clothing, basically anything y'all feel more comfortable with !

DOPPO KUNIKIDA :

[ ☆ ] absolutely lovestruck.

[ ☆ ] he’d try anything to seem impassible about the current situation, because he’s absolutely not affected in the slightest/sarc.

[ ☆ ] however, his reddened ears and neck say otherwise.

[ ☆ ] they’re stunning, they’re stunning, is all he can repeat to himself.

[ ☆ ] make a fool of him for his behaviour and he will bask in a state of self-pity.

[ ☆ ] he’ll write something in his notebook along the lines of “day x, my soul left my body because of my infatuation for [name]. how am i suppose to look at them again, after how i behaved?”

[ ☆ ] ‘dramatic’ or not, he’d need a few days to recover from this embarassing experience.

doppo was nearly always a diligent, reliable person anyone could count on, accomplishing his work with extreme earnestness and without causing much trouble as he acted composed and confident in his abilities; that, however, didn’t mean he wasn’t internally panicking, questioning himself which was the right way to go in order to respect his ideal and at the same time not to cause drastic effects on the outside world.

in fact, quite a few cases he had to fulfill had been indeed stressful: working at the agency wasn’t something easy nor peaceful.

nevertheless, this time kunikida felt a different kind of uneasiness making its way in his chest, a more bearable one which was however rendering him still nervous. the worst part was that he was absolutely aware of the reason behind this tormenting and exhausting emotion.

an all too familiar, and welcomed to his ears, voice snapped him back to reality: “doppo, we’ve arrived at the destination. could you pass me the documents contained in your briefcase regarding our miss- wedding, dear?”

he was well conscious that you said those words to not make the taxi driver suspicious, but his heart still skipped a beat or two.

“of course,” he answered, almost too quickly, and passed you the folder regarding the case, avoiding your gaze the best he could. he didn’t want you to notice the blush present on his cheeks.

doppo couldn’t accept the state he was in, the state you put him in. his focus should have been on the mission you two had to complete, on the obstacles both of you could have encountered that day, not on you nor on your fake-programmed wedding. yes, it was only a cover for the actual mission, but due to his true feelings he couldn’t help but feel a little worried at the thought of it. what would have you thought, if he let the words he couldn’t bear to think about slip from his mouth?

he sighed and some common sense seemed to take hold of him through his quiet breath.

work was still work no matter what he could have thought: it didn’t change his priority, that was the case. he had to simply do his job, like he always did.

after paying the taxi driver, you both got out of the vehicle and looked at the famous hotel in front of you, gently illuminated by the morning light: it gave the building an imposing aura, which suited the rumors about the hotel perfectly.

as you two walked through the entrance door and made sure to present yourselves with your false documents and identities, a staff member accompanied both of you to a comfortable room where someone — probably their manager — was waiting for you on a beige armchair.

the initial talk lasted some time, especially because of kunikida’s subtle questions, which were used to get more information about that enchanting yet bizarre place, and your attempts to seem his romantic partner.

now, you had to try a wedding outfit for the mission’s sake. doppo looked down at his wristwatch: fifteen more minutes and then you could have discussed peacefully about the case without prying eyes watching your every movement.

a sudden rastle made him raise his head and, when he saw your figure wrapped in the fabric of the wedding outfit, his heart started pumping faster.

describing you with the adjective “wonderful” would have been a terrible understatement.

“love, what do you think about—“ your words died in your throat at the sight of your work colleague being so mesmerized by your new look.

kunikida cleared his throat and compliment your outfit without showing his emotions through his voice, trying to seem perfectly fine. which he wasn’t, for the matter.

one day i’ll marry them, he thought with a self-assuredness he didn’t ever suppose to own.

OSAMU DAZAI :

[ ☆ ] but, sometimes he can be caught by surprise, without being able to disguise what’s on his mind.

[ ☆ ] the glint in his eyes and the look of pure astonishment present on his charmed gaze would betray his false composure.

[ ☆ ] for one of the few times in his life, osamu would be at a loss for words.

closeness: a relationship stage where the two or more people involved began to grew closer to each other, a warm feeling of belonging which allowed human beings to trust other individuals. something that osamu had experienced in his past, something that now caused almost dread in his heart at the sole thought of it. it didn’t matter if it was of a platonic or romantic nature, the young man couldn’t seem to rest, not if it meant to think about his deepest wishes and fears.

as he looked at the documents on the table, dazai melancholically suspired.

if he didn’t have an infatuation on you, it would have been easier to play his role, to act indifferent and suppress his feelings, as he always did; however, in this case, he should have been sincere about his own emotions, a thing which he feared more than anything: something of such nature, as thoughts and feelings were, couldn’t be controlled. and, to not be in control meant to be vulnerable, with no protection. when moments like these came, where his mind was wandering too fast, the loss of control and certainty dazai made sure to have at any time started to become a terrible burden. he didn’t wish to be hurt again.

the fact that he — osamu dazai, a former member of the armed detective agency who possessed an incredible intellect and was always aware of his surroundings — didn’t notice your presence because of his thoughts about you was another thing that had to be added at the list of cons about his infatuation. though, the thing was that he was doing his best to disregard the pros.

“osamu, did you find anything about the case yet?”, your voice interrupted his internal ramblings, “a track or clues, perhaps? i talked with some staff members but their mouths seem sealed: i didn’t get anything out of our conversations, unfortunately”.

dazai couldn’t help but genuinely wonder about the carefulness present in your voice when you called him by his name: when did you start using it to refer to him? when did your relationship as colleagues take this turn? especially, why, deep in his heart, did he seem to appreciate it?

“hmm, not quite yet. i still need some time to gather other information,” he slowly spoke, still confused by his own mind.

a playful grin appeared on your lips. “it just so happens that we will soon have to try our wedding clothes on, and there we’ll have plenty of time to investigate. so, i suggest you get ready”.

both of you passed the way to the dress room cautiously discussing the mission and joking about your situation. when you arrived at your destination, osamu was the first who had to try his outfit: although he would have liked picking something to just annoy you, pretending to be back to himself, in the end dazai chose a classic wedding suit.

however, when it was your turn, he suddenly became nervous: he distracted himself trying to vaguely question some of the staff members. but, when you appeared in front of him with the wedding outfit on, he almost risked fainting.

they’re… wow. i’ll marry them, someday.

“uh, is the outfit that bad?” you pouted, confused, half reciting and half sincere.

osamu wasted no time to deny your question. “no no— my dearest, this outfit suits you very well. you’re… stunning, indeed”.

“oh, that look is full of love, [surname]. you can’t be mistaken, he’ll surely be a good husband”, a staff member said between compliments.

now was your turn to be too shocked to answer.

So when he knew that your birthday was coming up, he was planning it all carefully.

He got the perfect gifts, the cake, everything was done by the day it arrived.

So when you were alone with him, as he smiled at you, saying "Happy birthday belladonna!" with such a loving tone while carrying the cake (No he didn't bake it himself please don't let him in the kitchen-) You just started to cry.

He slightly panicked, cause we all know he isn't the best when it comes to human emotions.

He carefully set down the cake on the table as he hugged you, kissing on top of your head once in a while letting you cry in his chest

He carefully asks what's wrong, as you explains about your past and what you've been struggling with.

He frowned at the thought of his lover struggling so badly in life, relating to it himself. He cupped your face, and kissed your nose gently.

"I'm glad you're here, cause my birthday girl makes me the happiest man on earth."

He does feel bad for you, but he just pulled you closer to him as he let you rest on top of him.

Ahhh hello there, anon, thank you so much! 🥺😭💕💖🥰 It’s such an honor to get a message like this from someone who is reading the fic. 💕🥺💖🥰💕🥺💖🥰 I’m so glad you liked Chapter 12; it definitely has one of my own personal favorite scenes, tbh (but I won’t take up your time talking about that right now lol). Having a fan base for Cherish is truly lovely; I’m so blessed by each and every one of you. 🥺💖

As for your question, I’m always happy to share!

Before I say anything at all on my opinion, though, I’m first going to make it clear that I am completely setting aside that one…particular matter that has been discussed to death by the fandom for the moment, because I fear far too many people tend to forget that it is entirely possible to make any remotely positive commentary on a fictional character without that actually somehow meaning you condone his alleged…preferences. For the people in the back that need to hear this out loud to be set at ease: I in absolutely no way do.

Now with that out of the way for a bit, let’s talk about the rest of Mori. I’ll throw it under the cut, though, both for length and for potential spoilers of multiple light novels (Dark Era, Fifteen, Storm Bringer, etc.) and obviously the manga up to his last appearance in current arc. Oh and obviously the typical Mori-related trigger subjects. Yeah.

Honestly, on a general note, these days I think Mori as a character is super cool; I’m not sure where precisely I’d rate him on the list of characters because I honestly like nearly every character in BSD and think they’re pretty awesomely written, but on a general scale of 1 to 10, he’s a very solid 8 or 9 for me.

My first introduction to him was…admittedly not at all the best possible representation of him.

When I first joined the fandom, I began my journey through the series by watching the anime adaption of Dark Era, at the behest of a dear friend who said I would be best off doing so before I watched the rest of the show (of which there were only two seasons at the time) and then reading the manga, in order to get the best and most meaningful experience; it is not something I remotely regret, and in honesty, I would probably wholeheartedly recommend any new people to do the same, if they intended to start with the anime. Regardless, though, this decision did have the impact of making me immediately strongly dislike Mori as a person from the very start, given what he did to the orphans, Oda, and Dazai by extension.

Really, I wouldn’t say that I came to see him in any particular shades of grey motivation-wise until I watched the episode titled Double Black, in which there was the first reference of what would have become of the Port Mafia and Yokohama as a whole had he not usurped the throne to the organization so many years ago.

After that, I began to look at him with a bit more understanding and curiosity, horrible and ruthless though his nature may still mostly have been. Fifteen (specifically the light novel, NOT the anime) — which it should be said, I think is the best existing canon representation of Mori in terms of giving us a good look at his thoughts and motivations — only amplified that outlook and interest for me, and I think it alone is largely to thank for why I enjoy him as a character as much as I do in current time.

Although he’s definitely not someone I’d feel particularly comfortable writing an entire story solely around — as I don’t believe I’m expert nor absurdly passionate enough to do so compared to some genuine Mori fans that I know are out there out there — I nevertheless really, really do enjoy writing him, especially in Cherish (which is only the second time I’ve written him, if I’m honest — at least, in anything I’d consider publishing, anyway).

There’s just so much potential in him plot and personality-wise; he is incredibly flexible of a person in terms of his thoughts, mannerisms, motivations, and actions, which makes it super fun to explore and play around with when telling a story. I’d say he easily has one of the most fun personalities among the BSD ensemble, purely because of utterly unpredictable it can be; on one hand, he has moments where (at least outwardly) is capable of being extremely friendly, outgoing, generous and unassuming, and yet on the other, he is very much always inwardly observant of all that is going on around him and capable of quickly switching to being cold, calculating, and openly cruel at the drop of a hat. But even then, usually, his cruelty doesn’t come in the form of physical violence; it’s often emotional manipulation, intimidation, taking your fears and weaknesses and using them against you to get him whatever he feels he needs in the present moment. Sometimes, it isn’t even outwardly visible that the switch of gears happened; he knows how to poison you in the sweetest and most unassuming yet effective way possible — whether that poison is literal or metaphorical. He’s definitely the kind of person who could sing you to sing to sleep every night and kiss your cheek every morning even as he’s secretly plotting your demise. lol

That being said, I think a lot of the fandom, in their hatred for him as a person, tends to mischaracterize him a lot, rather than looking at it objectively. I’ve seen a lot of fics and general fandom takes that portray him as a sadistic person who is cruel simply for the sake of being cruel and does terrible things to others purely for the enjoyment factor, but that is 100% not who Mori is; canonically, Mori does what he does mostly, if not entirely, out of what he feels is necessity as the leader of the organization. Now, I’m not saying there may not be parts of him that enjoy certain things he does — it’s certainly more than possible, and even highly probable — but his actions as godfather are driven by achieving what he feels is the optimal solution, not by personal pleasure and amusement; as a matter of fact, in Fifteen, he even made it clear when speaking to Chuuya that he fully acknowledges a lot of what he does is morally reprehensible — he just feels that it is his duty to commit these atrocities for the ‘greater good’ of the organization, and that the end therefore justifies the means.

The thing is, there is a character in BSD who is exactly the way this portion of the fandom characterizes Mori, and he was even a member of the Port Mafia, so if people really wanted to canonically explore this dynamic of a character who wholly gets off on tormenting people, causing suffering and probing others’ heads rather than doing it as just a business practice, they absolutely could still do it and be true to canon by writing about said other character; it’s just that it’s not a convenient truth that a lot of the fandom wants or likes to face — because that would mean acknowledging that it was everyone’s beloved Dazai and not the oh-so-despised Mori who used to think in such a sick and twisted way during his days in the criminal underworld.

Granted, some people do write both characters very well and very accurately, and I applaud them, but I do find it frustrating when the fandom reduces either Mori to this purely evil, sadistic villain who is bad just for the sake of being bad, because he is so much more interesting as he truly is in canon.

It’s this dichotomy where his dedication to the overall well-being of his people and company is admirable and even understandable, yet at the same time his individual actions when you look at them from a moral perspective are pretty much all morally reprehensible in some way, shape, or form — if not in every way. The same is true of his time in the army; as a general concept, his desire to protect Japan during the Great War was on the whole admirable and understandable, we know that he was well-meaning about it, but at the same time, no matter how desperate the situation was, what he did to Yosano and his entire army was absolutely disgusting and unacceptable — especially because it came so easily to him to do it and he made no apologies for it nor expressed any guilt over the suffering he caused later on.

Do I think Mori is, on the whole, a good person? Absolutely not. Do I think that he sometimes has the best of intentions in mind with his schemes? In the grander scheme of things, yes; it’s just that he mostly doesn’t care who or how many he has to hurt to achieve that so long as it’s slightly less than his net gain from doing it, which in turn cancels out things enough to prevent him from ever being labeled as being or acting as a “good person” at any moment.

I think the best, most objective description of him is to say that he’s pragmatic and ruthless.

…And then obviously there’s the part that everyone in the fandom discusses to death — about the main universe version of him being into little girls. Not a whole lot to say about that; it’s gross, it’s wrong, it’s unforgivable, it’s morally reprehensible, and it’s chilling and disturbing and it definitely completely disqualifies him from being labeled a good person even if he had been able to earn that title from something he did somewhere along the way.

That being said — and I know this is probably going to be controversial to a lot of the fandom, so let me say upfront that I’m not saying that that isn’t 100% a valid and understandable reading of who he is and the way he feels based on all the evidence throughout the series, nor am I trying to convince anyone otherwise — purely because it is fiction and therefore all made up to begin with, at least for my own personal comfort, I typically choose in my own personal readings to just look at him as someone with a particular weakness for little girls because he’s fatherly — although I make no effort to claim that to be the objective truth, nor does such interpretation affect or influence any of my writings in any way; it’s simply the way I prefer to engage with BSD on my own personal time — outside of my writings.

As a matter of fact, in my one fic, Bittersweet Belief, he was intentionally written with the intention of being portrayed as a groomer, and in Cherish, his ‘tastes’ will be portrayed no less nor more suspicious than how they are in canon, and therefore it will never be fully, directly addressed, but may be interpreted however you wish.

I do not need people coming to me providing evidence of why they believe there is no way to look at it differently, as again, I am not arguing that it is objectively untrue in any way that Mori is written to be a pedo in BSD, and when in public spaces among other people talking about it I don’t even try to say otherwise, much less convince anyone of it. I understand fandom etiquette and I am not trying to erase anything about him from others’ perceptions in order to make him more “likable”. I am just engaging with BSD, whenever I am personally reading it and watching it, in the way that is more comfortable for me. Nothing more, nothing less.

Anyway, yeah, Mori’s a super fun character to write and observe in the BSD world! I think there’s a lot of depth to him and he’s very well-written — probably among my top past antagonists purely for the super interesting personality and the purely pragmatic outlook to life and business.

But yes! P5 Royal is really fun! I’ve been trying to play it for. God. A year now. And I haven’t even finished Kamoshida’s palace.

I did however watch a stream of original P5 the year after it first came out and got all the way to the end of Madarame’s arc and Sushi Boy Akechi’s intro - purely so I could understand why my bestie kept tormenting me by slipping pancakes into every conversation…

So I know a little more than where I’m at, and I’ve seen the odd artwork or out of context scene, but it’s not nearly enough for me to really talk about it yet or write anything substantial. Which is. Maddening. I did write a couple thoughts on my blog about Joker and Ryuji’s awakenings though… it was awhile ago so I don’t know if you’ve seen but I can find them again if you’re interested?

The thing is - I know I’ll like it; it’s basically everything I’d like in terms of theming (justice, morality, trauma, superpowers, cool costumes) and I’m already a big P2 fan… I just. Alright, so I just finished watching the season 5 finale of BSD and I have a lot of thoughts, most of them unprocessed but I'm going to try and summarize them anyways!

Its not shocking to me that there was a bit of a twist ending with everything being tied up quite nicely (for the most part, I'll get to the 'two hours later' thing in a bit). Kafka Asagiri has a habit of subverting expectations when concluding complex plots. Now is it a bit convenient that it ended the way it did? Perhaps, I would argue though that we were left with a lot to explore in the upcoming chapters/season of the show (assuming the manga follows the same plot beats when released in the upcoming months). Lots of great character moments and parallels occurred which I will likely write in future posts.

Do I think Fyodor is dead? I'm not entirely convinced, considering the circumstances though its the most likely conclusion. Not how I assumed it would play out, but it was an interesting conclusion to the mind games between him and Dazai that have been playing out since the prison arc started.

I'm curious to see why there was a lack of focus on Sigma. It probably has something to do with wherever the next arc is going. I would hope that he isn't dead as his arc feels like it hasn't been properly concluded. If he isn't dead its possible that he gained knowledge about whatever the next incoming disaster is. The best we can hope for is that he survived and we can learn about what Fyodor knew and what his ability truly is (if we are lucky).

I could gush forever about Nikolai and how he talks about Fyodor after the helicopter crash. It feels like an interesting conclusion to his story, one that seemed inevitable in my opinion. Though I am curious to see where his character is taken from here, I think it would be okay if this was his final appearance. I have a feeling that he may get a few more scenes processing his feelings about how his worldview may have been altered/shifted after the events of this episode. Only time will tell.

Bram gets his body back!! He is probably one of my favorite characters if not for his interactions with Aya alone, then definitely for his characterization (and the way I know the real Bram Stoker would be rolling in his grave). No idea where he'll go from here, but all the moments with him were nice and its my hope that he can at least be a fun father type figure for Aya in the future.

Its nice to see Dazai and Chuuya interact (as always). Was it a bit convenient that Chuuya was pretending to be a vampire? Yes of course, though it provides a reasonable explanation as to why Dazai isn't dead, so I suppose it works. Glad they aren't dead, their arcs don't feel complete yet. I don't have much else to say about their time in the episode unfortunately.

All of the scenes with Fukuzawa and Fukuchi were excellent and I am very glad that they took up the most time in the episode. The emotional resonance in their scenes is palpable and I'm really glad that they had time to talk things out while in Poe's book. Those moments had too many literary quotes and references to count, but I really appreciated that their motivations were laid bare for the audience. I think the final scene between the two of them will stick with me for a long time. If you have yet to see the episode this moment alone makes it worth watching in my opinion.

I don't think that there is a complicated answer as to why Akutagawa appears to be human and alive again in the 'two hours later' segment. The simplest answer likely has to do with aspects of Bram's powers that have yet to be explained. If this is not the case I'm sure there's another convenient explanation.

I always think that its an interesting choice when a studio releases the conclusion of an arc or season of a show before the story line has concluded in the manga, that being said the final part of Twilight Goodbye makes me nervous for a couple of reasons.

One, kind of wild that it progresses to a big super-powered fight only a few hours after the conclusion of the last arc. Not that BSD hasn't done something similar before, but this seems like a bit of a rush for the timeline. I will hold my extended worries on this for now. It reminds me of the Bad Apple story line and how quickly all of that plays out. Perhaps this will proceed similarly? Though with how many characters are in focus right now we can't be entirely sure.

Two, this mystery character seems quite powerful and is seen wielding the "space-time sword" that Fukuchi had previously been using. I can't help but notice that this mysterious figure also looks a lot like Fukuchi. Same scars on the face, same hair. I am not saying it is him, but I think that him being the 'final?' enemy of this story line would interfere with a lot of the meaning infused into the end of the current arc. I sincerely hope that its not him, but I would be interested to see where everything goes if it Fukuchi.

Lastly, I do truly hope that this is the intended direction of the story moving forward for Asagiri's sake. I don't think Studio Bones would conclude or move on with a story without more of the manga being written. They tend to be more patient than other studios when it comes to waiting for enough material for new seasons. That being said, season four and five did not necessarily need to be produced separately and back to back. Then again, I am not that familiar with the inner workings of the Anime industry. In conclusion, I just hope that this is genuinely what the author intended and that whatever is made moving forward carries the spirit of BSD as it has been portrayed so far.

Aww, thank you so much dear!! That's so nice to hear and I'm so glad you enjoy it! And it flatters me so much that you want to read more of it!

Now, as for recommendations, I will say that every single fandom I write for is one that I would recommend. I write for each of them because I love them and honestly do think they're amazing, in terms of story or character, but there's also caveats to each of them! So I'm just going to do the reasons I think you should check them out and what I think are their downfalls that might make them not your particular thing, just in case anyone else was wondering the same thing!

K PROJECT is definitely a huge one on here, and chances are that if you liked BSD and KHR, you probably will like this one too. It has a pretty art style and a tendency, much like the others, to have very bishie characters and cool uses of powers. The story is solid the entire way through and honestly, everyone will be able to find a character in this large cast of them who they really do love. Add onto that that, for the most part, the K fandom is large for an older anime, and really a very, chill, accepting fandom. Drawbacks: There is more noticeable fanservice in regards to female characters. And it is a big one to get into - on top of a two season anime, there are films, light novels, manga spin-offs (and honestly, Memory of Red is such a love of mine, same with Days of Blue)...I'm not saying that you have to consume all the content, just that there is a lot of it out there, if you do tend to be someone who really does need to read/watch everything for a show you enjoy, and some of it is hard to find.

NANBAKA is one I dearly love. It starts off a lot like KHR did, as a gag comedy series with some action elements and, a lot like KHR, shifts itself into a shounen with comedic elements. Again, much like KHR and BSD, you'll find a cast of very bishie men, and I do like all the female characters introduced so far, who are all smartly written. Again, it's another story with a huge cast of characters, so there really is something for everyone. It's got two seasons of its anime, and the manga isn't wildly ahead of where it's last anime season stopped (though I've only read until 192, where my manga app stopped, though I recently got a source to read further, so I'm planning on doing that), and I do feel you get pretty much the same story either reading or watching. Drawbacks: The first three episodes for sure are a bit of a slog to get through unless you really like gag comedy. Much like the Daily Life Arc in KHR, it's mostly just introducing characters. At episode four, the story for the first season starts to really shape up, but episode seven is pure filler for the most part and always seems really disjointed to me. For episode eight onwards, I was hooked - so hooked I had to go read the manga for more. I will also say that it has a very unique art style and character design, with a lot of very bright colours used, so if a very soft, pretty art style is something you're after, this might not be your cuppa.

WELCOME TO DEMON SCHOOL, IRUMA-KUN! is a more recent fandom of mine but a great one. It's one where I watched the anime first and am now just reading the manga, so I'm warning that most of these opinions are based mostly on the anime, which is three seasons long, so a bit more of a commitment than some of my other fandoms. I don't know how to really explain it, but it has a really nostalgic feel to me. It takes me back to when One Piece, Naruto and Bleach were these major things in anime. I feel like Iruma really has that classic shounen feel to it in some ways. I feel like, if you like shounen overall as a genre, you're going to end up liking this show. Drawbacks: That being said, there are drawbacks. Again, it's a bigger commitment and I do feel like Iruma, the anime at least, does have some serious pacing issues at times. If you are someone sensitive to pacing in your stories and need the story to progress rapidly from one thing to the next, you might not enjoy this one so much.

SERVAMP is one that I do think any fans of KHR and BSD will like. It's got a similar art style, really cool uses of powers, interesting characters, and a solid story. Drawbacks: The anime ended while the manga continued. While the anime was a good adaption of the manga up to the point where the anime ended, it does have a different storyline near the ending, because they just didn't have more material to work with. So, while it's a short anime, easy to watch with only 12 episodes, and is a really good show on its own, I will write about characters as a manga reader, with all the new twists and turns and all the new characters introduced so you might find yourself lost on some things as a strictly only anime person, if you are one.

SAIYUKI has been such a long time fandom of mine. I read the manga, but I think the anime adaptions have mostly been fantastic, though they do censor quite a bit. The characters are insanely easy to connect with and love, the story is well thought out and paced well. You can watch the original starter anime on youtube here. Drawbacks: That being said, there are definite drawbacks. It is an older series, with the art reflecting that. And it's a huge series, with there being multiple parts to it - the original Saiyuki, Saiyuki Gaiden (exploring the character's past lives), Saiyuki Reload, Saiyuki Reload Bast, Saiyuki Ibun (a prequel that explores the story of an important side character)...and another, major drawback, is that, much like Hunter x Hunter for example, I really don't think that there's ever going to be a solid ending for this series.

MYSTIC MESSENGER has so many interesting characters, and unlike some other otome games, the story is so incredibly well-developed, thought through so well, and it really has a way of breaking your heart at moments, with some fantastic character development and story arcs. Drawbacks: It is an otome game, so you do have to like those, and I argue that it's an otome game that takes a shit-ton of commitment to play, more so than any other game I've played.

IKEMEN REVOLUTION has beautiful art, interesting characters, and some of the routes they came out with had such amazing storylines. You will definitely find a favourite character. Drawbacks: It's an otome game, so you do have to enjoy those. Some of the routes can be a little bland, and because it's not getting any new content, there's a chance the person who ends up being your favourite might not ever have a route (FUCKING GIVE ME A BLANC ROUTE!!!)

EYESHIELD 21 is, in my opinion, everything a sports series should be. There's interesting and complex characters, well developed character relationships, exciting moments, moments that break your heart, and you really, really grow connected to some of these characters so easily. It spoiled me on a lot of other sports series, honestly. Like KHR, it really undergoes a fantastic art evolution which is also really interesting to see. Drawbacks: It's a sports manga, so you have to like that sort of thing. Also, I say manga because, while it does have an anime, I do think the anime has to be one of the ugliest I've seen and they did my favourites so dirty.

THE OUTSIDERS is a novel I've loved since grade nine. I love the story, the characters and their relationships with each other, the dynamics between those who were born with privilege and those born in poverty. All around, a fantastically written book. Drawbacks: It's going to break your heart towards the end.

RONIN WARRIORS is a long, long, LONG time love of mine. It's cheesy, it's fun, it's got a good overall story and I love the characters to death. It's easy to find, with the series on YouTube here. Drawbacks: It is an old anime, with the art, voice acting, and animation style reflecting that. I also find that the anime took a bit to get going, and I honestly find myself rewatching the OVA's a lot more than the actual series. I love all three but Gaiden is my favourite, and I probably suggest trying the movie first to see if you connect with the characters, since it takes a lot less time.

KEKKAISHI info. Drawbacks: I really don't think you can get as good a story or as much of an impact without reading the manga, which does take a little bit to really get going. I do remember the first volume being really slow and a bit of a slog to get going, though it's a slog that is well worth it for the story you get in the end and the interesting, complex, realistic characters you get and the amazing powers and power systems you do find in it.

GETBACKERS is a really fun anime. It has these wonderful, fascinating characters with well-developed and interesting relationships among themselves. The story line is really solid and well-paced. The power system is really cool, and in the anime, the fanservice isn't too unbearable. Drawbacks: This is one where I honestly couldn't finish the manga because of the horrific amount of gratitutious fanservice on the part of their female characters, so I do recommend the anime, which can be found here on YouTube. I do warn that it is an older anime, and the art can lean that way at times, though I still personally enjoy it!

BLUSH BLUSH is my go-to relax and forget the world game. It is technically an otome game, though one with a lot of grinding elements and it doesn't really have too much in the way of actual character routes, having more of a general storyline and fun dialogue. Drawbacks: You really do have to enjoy those kinds of games, and some characters and things like the fully voiced DLC and the 18+ DLC that allows you to see the guys naked do cost actual money.

CLASS OF THE TITANS is a really fantastic Canadian cartoon. It's an older one, but I really don't think that impacts it negatively at all, since the art was really unique and well done, the animation still holds up, the characters themselves are wonderful. Also, for Greek mythology nerds, you'll have fun with this series! You can find the first season here! Drawbacks: Worst ending to the series and worst final arc I've ever seen, but that is just my own personal opinions and I know some people who loved it.

ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN is arguably one of my favourite superhero cartoons. It was done by Disney XD, with a fun art style, good voice acting talent, and the fact that it's set in high-school is a definite difference from a lot of the typical superhero cartoons and something that really did work in its favour. It's humorous, the characters are great and they each really do get their moment in the spotlight. Drawbacks: It is a cartoon, not an anime, and that might not appeal to some people, and it might be a bit difficult to find.

There are also some fandoms I love and would honestly love to write for and add to the fandom list on here, but that I'm not sure if there'd be any interest in, so I'm just going to briefly list them here!

DOGS: BULLETS & CARNAGE - fantastic manga, though definitely goes to some dark, dark places and if you're someone who can't really stomach things that are more on the seinen side, I definitely don't recommend viewing it.

BLACK CAT - It's a pretty solid anime, but I really do feel you get a much better story and a much better look at the characters in the manga. However, just watching, it's still really good but again, as with a lot of my other fandoms, this is very much an older one, so the art style does reflect that.

HUNTER X HUNTER - Both as an anime and as a manga, it's a fantastic story, full of fascinating, complex characters and is definitely a shounen classic for a reason. However, much like Saiyuki above, I really don't think we're ever going to get a proper ending for Hunter x Hunter, just my personal opinion, and that is something that might bother some people.

KARNEVAL - It's a really pretty show and manga. The art is gorgeous, and the story is interesting, though I feel some of the characters do fall a bit flat at times.

THE ROYAL TUTOR - Fantastic show, beautiful manga. You're going to find a favourite character with no issues, because they're all unique and charming. However, it can be a little too slice of life or non-action packed for your typical shounen fan.

GANGSTA. - Fantastic show but an amazing manga. That being said, much like Dogs: Bullets & Carnage, it goes into some dark places and does have some things that might go over the line for some people.

PSYCHO-PASS - I cannot say enough good things about this and if you liked the character designs in KHR, you'll likely love these. However, again, it definitely crosses some lines that people might not be able to handle.

THE MIGHTY DUCKS - I love them, but honestly, I'll admit - it's a set of three hockey movies from the 90's, made for kids, so I doubt anyone else still remembers and loves them.

THE COVENANT - Long live the Sons of Ipswich! This is just a really fun movie, full of really pretty guys and some good action scenes, an interesting premise, and it's one of my favourites but...it's corny as hell and I admit that.

DATE WARP is a fun otome game that doesn't take a long time to play, has an interesting story line, and some really, really great characters! However, it is an otome game, so you have to enjoy those, and the art isn't as polished as it is in some other otomes.

SEDUCE ME THE OTOME is another really great otome game, with a sequel game that really, really fleshed out the storyline and characters so well. However, again, it's an otome game so you have to enjoy those and the art is very unique compared to some of the art used in other fandoms.

Jouno and Y/n just walked out, but a sudden noise was made when they exited the room. "PLUM BLOSSOMS IN THE SNOW!"

'SKEECH'

"Fukuchi!?" They ran back in the room to see their leader on the floor. His life flashed before his eyes as he almost got stabbed from an unconscious person. They also see a sword that was stuck in the wall. "Oh... sorry captain." Tecchou said, retracting his sword from the wall. "Well good morning sleeping beauty!" Y/n elbowed Jouno in the stomach once he said that. Tecchou was so obvious that he would respond back without being insulted or anything. "Good morning..." "How's your back?" Y/n asked. "It's alright I guess. And Jouno, I forgive you. You were only trying to help with my workout." Said Tecchou. An irk was on Jouno's head, his smile was twitching as well. Jouno was so fed up with his weird oblivious shit.

"Well, glad to hear that. We have a misson to do, so get your ass up." "Yes ma'am/sir."

After Tecchou got in his uniform they left the building and headed towards the coffee shop. "Sooo what are we doing?" "We are going to interrogate the old man at the Cafe."

BSD S5E2 thoughts

i am so late for this i apologise. but the episode was so not a letdown, it really meets my expectations. the reason why i'm starting on e2 and not e1 because e1 was more of setting the scene and picking up where they had left off. e2 is where the plot thickens and intensifies. plus, ranpo had a lot of screen time in this, and alas, i'm a simp for him.

DISCLAIMERS: this is not spoiler free, so if you haven't watched it yet, continue at your own discretion. also, don't attack me if we don't share the same opinions and views. this is just my thoughts. lower case intended.

"TURNS OUT YOU'RE QUITE THE IDIOT TOO."

one of the scenes that strikes me most is the car ride scene where minoura, the officer who ranpo interacts often during cases over the years, drives him to a safer location after freeing him from captivity. during this, minoura seems to be in a bit of a frenzy, while ranpo relaxes with a smile on his face that has been there since minoura arrived. (he's so adorable jdfhiasu) we all know that ranpo is incredibly intelligent, and could deduce people's motives and future actions. however, when minoura asks him whether he knew that some of the officers would trust his righteousness and intellect, and would therefore risk their lives to save him, ranpo admits that he did not know whether they believe him. during the whole time, he was not expecting to be saved, yet he was and realises how many people actually trusts him to the point of sticking their own heads out for him. imagine the amount of love and gratefulness he must have felt from this. i'm really glad that ranpo is reminded how precious he is to everyone, like he has that reassurance that he is reliable. this is also probably the reason why he could not stop smiling when he was rescued. AND HIS GIGGLE IN THE END I'M TEARING UP.

"ALL I'LL DO IS TRUST, BECAUSE THE PRESIDENT SAID QUITE SIMPLY 'I TRUST FUKUCHI'."

y'all i'm not gonna lie, this scene made me love him so much more, and it's saying a lot because i love him tons already. the whole scene where he tries to persuade fukuchi to help ADA capture the page from kamui really shows the kind of role fukuzawa plays in ranpo's life. i think we can all agree that fukuzawa is a dad to ranpo, right? he took care of ranpo since his teen years, introduce to him the idea of his unusual intelligence being his special ability, gave him a job, and created a family for him aka ADA. as i said before, we know ranpo is smart enough to guess what fukuchi would do and manipulate his decisions, and he himself admitted that. but he didn't. all because he respected, looked up to, and ultimately TRUST fukuzawa. he knows how much fukuchi means to his 'dad' as a friend, and wants to respect that, at the cost of ADA. ranpo even gets down on one knee and say that he trusts him too. (don't mind me, but that shot of ranpo that i attached under the quote is so fine. is it just me?) that's why i was pissed as hell when ranpo found out that fukuchi is kamui. my boy was devoted to his father and THIS is what he gets.

"SOMEBODY, ANYBODY, PLEASE, FIGHT ALONGSIDE ME."

this is great content for atsushi x akutagawa shippers. the way i was chanting akutagawa's name, waiting for him to appear, and then scream when he did. was choosing akutagawa to help atsushi at his lowest moment a mere coincidence? i think not. asagiri knows what he's doing. context is, if you don't know, ranpo deduced that kamui is fukuchi, and of course was right. luckily, ranpo managed to escape, but unfortunately for atsushi, he couldn't, knowing fukuchi can easily catch up to him, and leaving him with no choice but to fight him. but atsushi knows that fukuchi is a much greater fighter than he is, and starts to get scared. scared because he was alone in this battle. and we know that he has ptsd from his orphanage days. so he begs to the universe to give him an ally, and boy, did the universe choose well. akutagawa being there is like a knight in shining armour moment. this is quite straightforward so i don't have to explain so much. let's lose our minds together over this.

HIGHLIGHTS

ranpo pushing kunikida to atsushi when he was about to be hugged like BOY JUST ACCEPT SOME AFFECTION

kyouka saying that she was trying to hold herself back from hugging ranpo, kunikida and yosano. SOMEONE HUG HER FOR GOODNESS' SAKE

when yosano asks ranpo what he will do, he replies, "what do you think? i'm doing the funnest part of the job." cut to him showing up again in front of the fukuchi with a "heya, i'm that terrorist everyone's talking about." he's so chaotic, i love it.

fukuchi and ranpo interacting like uncle and nephew respectively for a while. that was cute. AND RANPO CASUALLY EXPOSING FUKUCHI'S BEHAVIOUR AT ADA'S OPENING CEREMONY

the fact that ranpo has a novel written by poe to use as an escape route is something i'll never get over. ranpo and poe >>>>

Volume 2 Is done! Man this Is the one with my second favorite opening <3 It's just so epic it pumps my blood!

Anyways, thoughts with no order whatsoever!

Emmerald is another of those characters I love to see the progression of. We must protect. Emmerald baby you're insuferable and you deserve the world<3

Burning the candle is the moment <3 that was when we knew. It was also the moment Yang was cemented as my fave and she never stopped being it, props to Barbara for that classroom scene, it holds a special place in my heart.

As a side note, I can't think about Burning the Candle without remembering Explosivesky's Hollywood AU <3 that fanfic is on another level. Even during my angry-about-Penny era, I would read it from time to time because it's that awesome fg

Glynda and Ironwood's talk is one of my favorite scenes in the volume. Honestly, I miss Glynda, Glynda is a badass.

Cardin bullying Velvet makes so little sense after meeting CFVY lmao! Like, you expect me to believe Coco, Yatsuhashi and Fox didn't beat those idiots to a pulp just for existing around her?! How?! How are they alive?!!!

Also while we're on the CFVY note... Coco please step on me, please.

I will keep believing that Summer, Taiyang and Raven were in a poly relationship for the rest of my life, that's just how my brain works. Don't try to change it.

The JNPR dance™ Iconic, perfect, just one of the many reasons I was hoping for another Dance/Ball down the line in the story.

Speaking of Iconic: The. Food. Fight. Just that. What a way to start the season.

Watching this volume really makes me miss Pyrrha... Not just her as a character which I do miss she is awesome in every sense BUT HER FIGHTING STYLE!!! God fights with her were always such a treat to the eye!!

James Ironwood, I had so much hope for you, but I get why your story progressed the way it did. The signs were everywhere now that I look into it.

Ozpin's 'I hope they never have to (win a war)' and 'right now they're only children, it's not a role they will have forever' hurt so fucking much...

Jaune has listened to Weiss singing. I feel the unexplicable need to know in which context this happened. Does Weiss sing while studying? Did they had some kind of recital? Did they go karaoke-ing on a missing scene? Is Weiss secretly a popstar who's writting songs about her partners and travels and Jaune owns one of her albums??? Yes I'm still into that dumb headcanon lol.

Roman and Cinder scenes were always a treat to watch, look at my two dumb villains who share one single braincell with Neo and she has it 99% of the time. I really had such a great time with villains in the early seasons. Also, once v3 happened Neo took the cell hostage and Cinder hasn't seen it ever since. makes sense.

Yang's dance dress missing it's pattern is another thing that will never not be funny to me lol poor girl was stuck dressed as an extra!

The Oobleck Zwei combo fight is one of the best things ever lol always one of my favorite parts when watching reactors lol.

Team CFVY, my beloved<3 I hope we get to see more of them in the Vaccuo arc. Bring us the return of Caffeine!!!!!

Weiss' Ice flower to shield the team from the train crash is still one of my favorite moments of her. Weiss excels at the support mage role in her team, and it always delights me seeing her taking care of her team <3 they're the family my girl needed.

I've seen so many critic viewers complain about thr girls leaving Yang fighting Neo because it was clearly a bad match (which doesn't make sense because it literally was the first time we saw her fighting????) But honestly, it wouldn't had made sense any other way. Yang had some kind of personal vendetta against Neo at this point, just like Blake had against Roman. I get the logic conclusions, but characters in the heat of the moment don't usually get to logic conclusions before acting. They are friends, they trust eachother, they had no reason to fight any other way.

I gotta give a shout out to the v2 soundtrack. I love every soundtrack of this series, but v2 is supperb in every sense. Sacrifice is still on my Top3 songs in general (War and Smile being the other 2 and Miracle barely behind). Boop? Amazing, unparalled, that's how you take a beloved character and ship and give them an anthem. Dream come true is just lovely, Jaune, I wished you had seen it sooner... Caffeine? I listened to that song non-stop for a month after I first saw the finale, and it's still that awesome~ All our days holds a very special place in my heart because I used to sing it to my niece to sleep when she was a baby, and it's just the perfect Yang to Ruby song yes I know it's Jeff to Casey and Taiyang to the girls, but it will always be Yang to Ruby for me.

Raven is such an interesting character to me. It's said personality influences semblances or the other way around, and hers is a way to check on her family no matter how far away she is... We're missing so much about her story.
