(But since the last post did SUPER WELL like oh my goodness thank you so much <3333 quick little trivia for you guys regarding their costumes- Taranza bought his costume online, Susie used some of her clothes and just bought some extra accessories, Magolor mostly made his costume from scratch (just had to buy the hat) and Marxs costume is made completely from scratch (he asked for Magolors help like twice-) besides that the stitching pattern shows who did what (Marxs is mostly messy since he isn’t the best when it comes to sewing and Magolors is very neat and is done in smooth clean lines. Man I hope that isn’t important later or anythi-)

(One more thing- Marx was the one who came up with the “dressing up as the fazgang for the fnaf movie” idea, he’s trying to containing his excitement but it’s barely working since every 6 seconds he wants to explode (in a good way)

“Split soul theory,” “Twin Flames,” the sheer notion of “soul mates,” all of that religio-mythos malarkey was baffling.

One soul, formed by some incomprehensible, omniscient force, disserved by a magical jolt, leaving both halves of the spirit longing and searching for completion? Profoundly preposterous.

And Hamato Donatello was not one to stand for preposterous.

Some half-baked “theory” he had seen on social media about lost souls and soul mates had left an unsavory taste in his mouth. To write and post about, or even believe in, something itself was not an issue. He really didn’t care about what other people were up to.

But, to label it a theory? By Pythagoras’ name, that was a step too far.

Theories may be borne of speculation, only formed by ideas in someone’s head initially, but they have proofs. Tangible or quantifiable or even just conceivable evidence supporting an educated claim.

To throw the beloved concept of theory around all willy-nilly was not something he could tolerate.

So, he had gone on an internet deep dive, exploring and “disproving”(i.e. spewing scientific venom in the unsanctimonious grounds that are reels’ comment sections) the falsities he was exposed to.

It may have been late, a solid 4 A.M., but it was never too late to defend the name of scientific accuracy.

And soul mates were neither scientific nor accurate.

You know that problem horror fiction has where if you do the “the real horror is real life” well enough, when the actual horror pokes its head out it just seems really goofy by comparison? Like it’s so unrelatable it verges on comedy relief?

#I wish I had a smart conclusion about this but I’m trying to figure out how to troubleshoot the problem if I ever write this typa thing and #I don’t know how #’cause I just read this book about a young woman widowed for one year who starts receiving weird letters and messages from #an old flame of her deceased husband that he never told her about and it all was done so well it was like modern gothic fiction until #the last 20% or so when the letter-writer actually shows up with all her evil schemes in tow and then #suddenly it’s a completely different kind of book still scary I guess but the horror of the story was about not knowing what’s going on #and not having the person you once trusted and relied on to get you through it #and once she knows and has something to fight besides her own self you lose that #and I’m realizing the same thing happens with Stephen King a lot too cause in Pet Sematary #(spoilers) #I’m not saying it SHOULD have ended with the guy heading out to dig up his dead son because that would have been a copout but it would have #been way scarier #because the scary thing is the level of grief that would drive someone to that extreme and how easily you could put yourself in his place #and then his son is an evil zombie and it’s like okay whatever
