Clyde Donovan!
Now that I have your attention, Clyde Donovan. Let’s talk about him for a minute. I am a little bit afraid for the future of his character, mostly because of what happened to him in season 26.
But first: Clyde’s evolution
He started as, to put it lightly, just a fucking idiot. He continues to be really dumb, but he was so dumb back then. He has like one line in the movie, and it’s only one word, and it’s the infamous “5 times 2” line. “Twelve?” Fucking moron. I love him.
He sort of became a crybaby after that, which might have been annoying, except I think he pulls it off. Around the same time, he started to have (pardon my language) unexplainable rizz.
Anyway, he sort of sat in that silly, crybaby, idiot, ladies man, spot for a long time. His mom died, but that episode didn’t do anything for his development at all, so he was sort of just done developing. That’s fine, I think the spot they had him in was fine, he’s a great character and still has potential the way he is.
Enter: Season 26
It’s almost like the people behind South Park were unsatisfied with the characters whose names had been dragged through the mud before. They couldn’t live with just the blood of Stan, Kyle, Cartman, Jimmy, To(l)k(i)en, Randy, Gerald and Garrison. They needed more, so they looked to Clyde.
His first appearance was okay, because he was just a moron again. Cupid Ye (S26 E1), where he was one of the first people to ask Kyle if he ran Hollywood.
In Deep Learning (S26 E4), he was the one who introduced Stan to ChatGPT. He dislikes Bebe, or at least how much she texts him. He’s a little bit bitter and old, because of how he resents his girlfriend. This is bad, but he still has some of the elements of Clyde that I love love love. I like how he’s still afraid of Bebe finding out, almost like he’s scared if her. Him trying to be smooth is also very funny. Still though, there’s elements of him that aren’t as awesome in that episode.
Then comes DikinBaus Hotdogs (S26 E5). He’s sort of an annoying, unambitious, Gen-Z stereotype. He only has a couple lines, but in the scene he’s in he’s just sitting on his phone, talking about how he doesn’t want to work and stuff. This is bad, because it marks a weird shift in Clyde that only took a couple episodes to happen. This also sort of marks another weird shift in the attitude of the show where they hate Gen-Z. I’m worried Clyde might sort of become a talking point for that, which sucks because he’s such a silly little guy.
Also he’s not a member of Gen-Z. He was either 8 in 1997, which would make him a Millennial, or he’s 10 in 2023, which would make him Gen Alpha. That honestly just makes the whole thing even stupider.
Final thoughts:
I’m nervous about him, and if they will turn him in to a main character for the show, sidelining one (or more) of the main four in the process, just to suck. It’s happened before, and it would really tarnish his “legacy”.
Anyway, Happy Mother’s Day!

Good morning Miss Winnie. (Part II)
Part I
Pairing: Dean Winchester X Reader.
Rating: Gen.
Summary:
Two weeks after Dean became a father, it's time to jump back on the hunting horse. But he's hesitant.
Notes: Non-canon, no time line. And I don't ever want kids. But I just became an aunt and I sort of need to get this out of my system! Short and I'm not promising that I won't continue this. Who knows really. Finally this was written after I'd taken my usual nightly gummy.
Tumblr media
“Bonnie?”
You shot Dean a look across the kitchen. He was cooking eggs on the stove while you were nursing. Castiel was the only other member of the bunker awake at six a.m. and, fortunately, occupied the library. It wasn’t that you cared about the other men seeing you breastfeeding, it was how they reacted to it. Both became very awkward and outwardly attempted to look anywhere but at your breasts.
“You can’t accept Winnie, but you pick Bonnie?”
Dean shrugged.
“I was just thinking if we had a boy we could call him Clyde. We’d have our own little gang.”
“Firstly, I’m not doing this again. And secondly, Bonnie and Clyde were felons.”
“What do you mean ‘you’re not doing this again?’ Don’t most women go crazy for more kids? They smell the baby's head and some hoo-doo helps them forget about the pain and bodily fluids.”
“Yeah, well. You try being in labour for damn near forty eight hours and shitting yourself in a room full of people. Including the man you love. Then come back and tell me you’ve forgotten about it and wanna do it all over again.”
“Point taken.” Dean laughed, plating up eggs and bacon for them both, “And you didn’t shit yourself by the way.”
“I didn’t?”
“I think I’d remember.”
You smiled at the plate of food and carefully lifted the baby from your breast. She’d long since stopped feeding and was instead squirming, ready to be winded.
“I can take it from here.” Dean reached down and lifted the little girl up into his arms. He held her upright against his chest and began rubbing circles into her small back, “There we go kiddo. Get it up.”
“Be careful.” You warned.
“I’m not taking any chances.” Dean gestured to the polka-dot muslin cloth on his shoulder.
You watched as he gently walked your daughter around the kitchen, her little body squirming while he cooed into her ear. She made several little squeaking noises, threatening to cry, only to be brought back to earth by her father’s tender voice.
“Come on now, no tears. I’ve got you.”
Your eyes locked with Dean’s for a moment, both reflecting a soft smile. He was proving to be an excellent father, not that you’d doubted him for a second. But Sam had. He’d been very vocal about Dean knowing nothing about babies and how, despite the fact that he was happy for you both, he thought this whole ‘raising a family thing’ was a bad idea.
“You guys are great together! But I don’t think this is the right environment for a kid.”  Or something along the same bullshit.
Dean had been adamant about her though. He damn near refused to speak to Sam until he stopped with his questions and logical answers. Sure you both had been sceptical about bringing a child into this life, but neither of you had actively prevented it. If it happened, it happened.
Speaking of the devil. Sam groaned and stretched his arms above his head, stumbling into the kitchen. He dug the palm of his hands into his eyes, drawing them down his face afterwards.
“Morning. Coffee’s in the pot.” Dean said, his voice shifting from Dad to brother by just an octave.
Sam poured himself a hefty mug before offering more to the kitchen. You declined but insisted that he fill up Deans.
“He’ll need the caffeine for your hunt.”
“Oh so you’re back on the job then?” Sam questioned, his eyebrows rising.
Dean’s brow furrowed as he shifted the little one on his chest. He searched her face, the cogs visibly turning in his head.
“I’ll get back to you on that one.”
“What? I thought you’d be happy to get back on the horse.” You’d assumed that after being out of work for almost two weeks that Dean would be craving a hunt, but his face said otherwise.
“Yeah. I mean I am. But she - “
“She’ll be right here when you get back.” You interrupted, “It’s a simple in and out job. Right Sam?”
“Sure. Run of the mill ghost in the attic for some old friend’s of Bobby’s.” Sam took a lengthy sip of his coffee, “And it pays too.”
“See? And we could use the cash for Winnie.”
Sam scoffed, barely holding onto the coffee in his mouth. He looked between you both and then to his niece.
“Winnie?”
“Short for Winchester but not her name. Just a placeholder until we find the perfect one.” You inform, “But what’s so wrong with Winnie anyway? It’s a perfectly acceptable name.”
“Nothing wrong with it at all. It’s just not what I pictured you both to come up with.”
“Fortunately it’s not.” Dean added, shifting the baby from one arm to the other as she reached up with her little hands, “As for the hunt, I’m not sure.”
He offered a finger for her hand to close around, eyes never leaving her. the features on his face softened, lips almost pulling downwards into a frown.
You exchanged a knowing look with Sam.
“If this is about Win- her- you don’t need to worry. I can cope fine on my own for one night.” You offered
“Yeah but what if it isn’t just one evening?” Dean answered, his voice doing nothing to disguise the concern he was feeling.
“It’s only a few towns over. We’ll be home by four am - ”
“But what if something goes wrong? Huh? Then what? I’ve left my wife without a husband, my little girl without a father. And -”
You jumped to your feet at the distress in his voice and rushed to loop an arm around his middle.
“Don’t say that. It’s a run of the mill job, something you guys have done one thousand times over. Nothin’ bad is gonna happen other than a few bruises.” You laid your head on his shoulder, eyes coming to settle on the little lady in his arms, “I can deal with those. And she’ll not know any different.”
With a deep sigh, Dean kissed you gently on the head. It was an uncharacteristic display of affection, especially in front of his brother, but you hadn’t the heart to react. You knew he was feeling vulnerable, that much was clear in his reaction, and to draw attention to it would only make things worse. Instead you settled against him and allowed his warmth and the soothing sounds of your baby to still your own anxiety.
You’d be lying if you didn’t admit that some part of you was fearful of your husband walking out of the bunker and never coming home. Hunting was a dire job, one which had claimed the life of many of your comrades. Dean may be an experienced hunter, renowned in his own right, but he certainly wasn’t immune to unfortunate outcomes. That much had been proven time and time again.
Lost in thought, the only sounds in the kitchen were the gentle fussing of your daughter and the whirring of the circulation fans.
Finally Castiel broke the silence with his sudden entrance. He appeared in a flurry of feathers, one coming to land on the table top by your abandoned coffee cup.
“We have doors, Cas. Use ‘em.” Dean warned, pulling your daughter closer to his chest as she began to fuss.
“I’m sorry, Dean. It’s a force of habit.” Castiel answered, taking a seat next to Sam, “I startled her.”
“You think?!”
You moved to take the baby from Dean but he shook his head, whispering a small ‘I got this’ back to you as he started to rock her from side to side. But it was no good, her cries grew louder and more furious. You began to wonder how those big sounds could even come from such a small creature.
Before you could offer your help again Castiel brushed past you.
“I didn’t mean to scare her.” He said, coming to stand in front of Dean “Is there anything I can do?”
“Here” to your surprise, Dean held your daughter out towards the angel, “You can settle her down while I grab her diaper bag.”
You lean in and quickly sniff.
“I don’t think she needs changed, D.”
“Well I don’t know what else to do. She -”
Castiel reached forward and lifted the infant from Dean. He brought her to settle in the crook of his arm, offering up his fingers for her to grab at. Gradually she began to quiet, her hands reaching up for Castiel’s and her eyes wide, staring into his face.
You and Dean watched on in outward confusion. Castiel, to your knowledge, had never handled a baby before. At least not in recent years.
“How did you do that?” Dean asked almost aggressively, “She was cryin’ up a storm seconds ago and you just took her and nothing.”
“Did you use your grace?” Sam suggested.
“She’s much too small to handle my grace in any capacity. It would kill her.”
You considered jumping in and taking her from Castiel but stopped yourself. She was settled and happily holding onto the angel's fingers. No sense in ruining it. Beside you Dean was tense, clearly struggling with something along the same lines. His face was etched in hard lines and you could see his brows furrowing.
Gently you looped your arm through his and guided him to his long forgotten coffee cup. He moved but his eyes never left you daughter in the angel’s arms.
“So,” Sam cleared his throat, “About this hunt.”
“What about it?” Dean glared at him over the rim of his cup.
“Are you in or -”
“He’s in.” You answer before the question could even be finished.
“Wha - I -”
“Oh come on. You got this. I can handle her and Cas will be here if I need any help. Right Cas?” The angel gave something akin to a positive response, “You have to get back out there at some point.”
Dean’s gaze flickered from Sam to you, finally coming to land on Castiel. He watched the angel gently swaying the little girl in his arms and the lines on his face began to soften.
“Hmmm. You’re sure about this?” He asked.
“Positive.”
“If there’s any trouble, anything at all, you call me.”
“Sure.” You smiled, “But I doubt Winnie will be as much of an issue as your malevolent spirit.”
Dean chuckled, accompanied by Sam.
“God, we’re really going to have to talk about her name when I get back.”

Ranger, Ranger, Ranger. The Machiavellian mutt we all love to hate. As we near towards the big finale in issue 44 and the epilogues that ensue, there is no doubt his role will become larger and larger. So, it’s time we start predicting his actions, reactions, and potentially his fate.
First, we must understand his character as well as his whole Bonnie and Clyde act with Hacksaw. I’ve checked through the comic to find their appearances and my search has found that Ranger is seemingly never seen without Hacksaw. However, Hacksaw is seen a few times without Ranger(in issue one, albeit implied and very brief)(And in issue 27, where she spies on the Barrenclan territory) it might be interesting to note that they are not mentioned alongside Prowl in Thrasher’s monologue in issue 13. Ranger definitely could not do all the menace behavior and projects and whatever shit he’s on, or at least it would be toned down, without Hacksaw. After all, she was the one who killed Saturn, the one who caught RainHaze in the first place, and is always by Ranger’s side whenever he’s talking to RainHaze, probably to bodyguard. The main examples of when Ranger has seriously fought are probably the pheasant he gave to RainHaze(might have been Hacksaw’s kill though) and when he was punishing RainHaze for lying. Issue 24 seems to be the main scene where we get a little peek at what is cooking in Ranger’s little brain cells. He doesn’t seem to really be invested that much in routine control, it’s the “projects” that he really cares about. It seems to be implied that RainHaze might not be the first poor creature this beastly brainwashed has sunk his claws into. However, something to note in issue 31(not the flashback part) is that Ranger does not seem that happy. He seems almost frustrated even though ordering around RainHaze and making him suffer seems to be his favorite thing in the world right now… or is that just a temporary mask he put on to trick RainHaze? Maybe Hacksaw’s words in issue 24 affected him.
So, our current takeaways:
-Ranger depends on Hacksaw as muscle to keep him safe
-Ranger’s main form of activity is his “projects” whether that be just what he’s doing to RainHaze or other fucked up things
-Ranger seems to be a bit in a rut with RainHaze right now
Now, to what Ranger might do in the near future of this story:
Well, we might need to know the extent of how far he wants to go with RainHaze. Does he just want him to love killing? Does he want to ensure RainHaze doesn’t hate him? Is this kind of a, “You’ll thank me later” situation he’s got with torturing RainHaze? Because he knows that RainHaze is part of BarrenClan, he’ll definitely want himself, Hacksaw, and RainHaze to have front row seats for whatever shenanigans Deepdark’s going to do when he pull up to their crib. But something Ranger should keep in mind is that if RainHaze has nothing left to lose, there’s not really anything holding him back from revenge. I’m sure Ranger knows this small risk, and either doesn’t care because he’s confident it won’t happen, or will just have his wifey do the cleanup. If things were to go his way, he’d probably just continue to brainwash RainHaze, wait for him to enjoy killing, and then move on to another project. I wonder if all his victims have a therapy group.
Now, before we go into my main theories for what Ranger’s conclusion will be, I want to discuss something a little extra. If there’s anything this comic is known for, it’s the big, fat, juicy EXISTENTIAL CRISES(and the generational trauma). Maybe, Ranger might get one. More likely not though.
So the two routes I think the story will take with Ranger
He Wins:
Until BeeFace and PlumStripe, and maybe CootStorm, we haven’t really seen antagonists be punished for their bad acts. I don’t think Razmerry is going for the route where Defiance gets away with everything though. But you never know. Maybe he gets no external punishments but it’s more of the internal horror, like the ending of American Psycho.
He gets a comeuppance:
This can come in many forms. Maybe he and Hacksaw die together. Maybe only Hacksaw dies, leaving him probably all alone. Existential crisis optional. Maybe RainHaze gets his revenge, by doing something Ranger did to him. It would be a cool scene if Ranger begs RainHaze to kill him, only for RainHaze to refuse. Maybe Hacksaw leaves him, as she seems a little annoyed with this whole project thing, “It’s either me or him!”
Welp, that’s my ramble. PatFW got that magic that got me doing a full analysis of Coyote Patrick Bateman.
You wrote a wholeass essay on my weirdo coyote with the whimsicality of Lemony Snicket... I'm in LOVE with this. I'm never gonna stop thinking about Machiavellian mutt. Coyote Patrick Bateman. Beastly brainwasher....
This is so good! I'm glad you're excited to see where these guys go!

The darkest parts of me (5/5)
A/N: Thanks to everyone who’s encouraged and read this little story of mine! I’ll be back to posting pure filth soon!
Title: The darkest parts of me (5/5) Summary: They find each other in a dark world where they do twisted things. The only way things could have become more dangerous, is if they were together. Funny how life turns out.
Unsub!Hotchniss AU.   Word count: 2,2k Rating: Explicit Warnings (for most or all chapters): smut, descriptions of violence, descriptions of murder, gore (nothing too explicit), mentions of weapons
David Rossi stands in a parking lot looking at the ground where only hours before a man’s body had been lying. A body that knew was a from the murders he’s spent the better part of a year hunting. They had gotten the call early, a quick description of the scene, but witnesses in the diner had described a couple, and he knew they had to go to California to see it for themselves. They had never been so close to catching them.
His phone rings, sounding loud even though there’s people everywhere and he looks down to see Jason’s name flash on the screen.
“Hey.”
“I’m leaving the ME’s now. It looks like a snapped neck, the man was an ex-marine.” Jason speaks as he walks to the car. “Wife and kids at home.”
“This wasn’t premeditated.” Dave says as he looks around and realizes that in the dead of night there was no way no one would be able to see the murder take place. “He had recognized the unsubs from the news and went to confront the woman while the man was in the bathroom. He was on with 911 when it happened.”
“So they’re close by.” Jason concluded for him.
“They have to be.” Dave walks around the crime scene as he holds the phone to his ear. “The roadblocks are up, every cop in the state knows to be on the lookout. They won’t get away. Not this time.”
There’s a beat of silence and Dave waits for Jason to say what they both were thinking.
“Let’s hope so.”
*
“We can’t stay here.” Aaron told her, surprisingly calm considering the circumstances.
“I know.” She says, her bag already packed, her gun cold against the small of her back where it rests in the lining of her jeans. “I think we need to get out of the country. It’s time”
“Where do you want to go?” He cups the back of her neck, the hand that only a couple of hours before had snapped a guy’s neck, was now so gentle as he brushed his thumb over her cheekbone.
“Anywhere we want.” She smiles when she hands him the passports that Clyde had made for them. “As long as we go fast.”
He nods, because they had planned for this, had planned for what they would do if something went wrong. He just hadn’t expected it to happen so soon. But they had a plan, actually had multiple ways to leave and somewhere in the back of his mind he thanks whatever lucky star for Emily’s funds.
She watches as he carries their bags to the car with a small smile. She knew she should be worried, that she should be scared because at any moment they could be found. But she isn’t, she’s excited, a familiar rush running through her at the thought of a chase. It’s a new kind of adrenaline, and she wonders if she’s found another way to get the high she’s always chasing.
They drive on backroads, not caring that the drive would take much longer, because they knew that any highway was a road to getting caught. His hand rests on her thighs as they drive, her smaller one on top of his and when she squeezes it he looks at her.
“Do you feel bad?” She asks and he knows what she means without her having to elaborate.
“We don’t know if that man deserved to die, but he put us in danger. It was worth it.” He offers her a small smile and she squeezes his hand again, a smirk on her face.
“It was sexy.” She says, dark eyes gleaming and he chuckles.
“My dirty girl.” He always loved how much his killing turned her on and it took every ounce of willpower not to put the car in park to have his way with her. But they needed to get to Arizona, from there they’d be able to get on a flight. It was a long drive, hours on the road, and they didn’t have time to stop.
“Once we’re safe, I’ll show you just how dirty I can be.” She feels his fingers dig into her thigh and she grins.
“You think you haven’t shown me exactly how filthy you can be yet, sweetheart?” He chuckles, but there’s an uncomfortable ache in the pit of his stomach, want quickly settling between his legs.
“I still have a few tricks up my sleeve.” She leans over the center console and licks his neck, her teeth grazing the skin there slowly before he urges her back into her seat.
“You’re sure we can trust Clyde with this right?” He asks, needing to think about something else, anything else, than how much he wanted her.
“Yes. He’s already made arrangements, we’re flying early tomorrow morning.” She knew that Aaron didn’t fully trust Clyde, but he had been the only one to help her when she decided to get away from her old life, had helped her again after she killed Ian. If there was anybody she trusted except for Aaron, it was him.
“How did you meet him?” He realized he had never asked her.
“His dad worked for my dad, and when he got older, he just like me, wanted another life. When I decided to leave, when I decided to become someone else, I reached out to him and he lived in the Netherlands, I went there and he helped me become Lauren Reynolds. We didn’t speak again until Ian, but he has connections everywhere, can make anyone disappear and he helped me again.” She didn’t talk much about life with Ian, much less about her time with her parents and she knew Aaron was hanging onto every word.
“Do you think it’s a good idea to still be in contact with him? If he has ties to your parents and your old life?” He knew that Emily was intelligent, that she wouldn’t take unnecessary risks with her life.
“He, just like me, changed everything about himself, he technically doesn’t exist. He made it look like he died in a plane crash years ago.” She took his hand again. “Trust me, we don’t have to worry about him.”
“Okay sweetheart.” He pulls her into a kiss, a quick thing stamped onto her lips that she smiles into. “We better hope we don’t get caught before we get to the plane.” He winks at her, and she knows that he’s finding this just as thrilling as she did.
*
They had been looking for hours, had every cop in the city out patrolling the streets. But still, the unsubs were gone.
“It’s like catching smoke.” Dave grunts as he sits in the precinct with Jason, a cup of bad coffee in front of him on the table.
“No killer is unstoppable, but maybe we simply got here  too late.” He says, his own cup untouched in front of him. “They know we’re after them, they had a head start.”
“What are you thinking Jason?” He looks at the look of sadness on his friend’s face.
“We know that they have money, that they’ve travelled the country for a long time, the woman seems like a ghost, she doesn’t exist anywhere. They’re getting ready to leave the country. And we might not be able to stop them.”
“I’m calling the airports.” The detective that’s seated with them says and Jason nods, but as he looks at Dave he knows that he’s thinking the same thing he is. The unsubs had an escape plan, and now they’re stuck playing catchup.
*
Emily yawns as she drives on the deserted roads, it was late, they had been driving for most of the day and night. She looks over to Aaron who’s sleeping beside her, his usually intense face as relaxed as it’ll ever be and she smiles. They were getting close to the private airport, they were close to escaping. She wondered what their new life was going to be like.
As she sits there, lost in her own thoughts her phone rings and Aaron grunts beside her as he wakes up.
“Yeah?” She already knew who it was, he was the only one who had her number.
“One of my men saw you passing him about a minute ago. Ditch the car, I’ll have him pick you up.” Clyde’s low voice sounds through the phone.
“Why?” She asks but still pulls off to the side of the road while keeping him on speakerphone so Aaron can hear.
“Because your rental is more noticeable than one of my cars.” She can hear his smirk through the phone. “Leave it where you are, about a mile down there’s a gas station, we’re waiting for you there.”
“What about the car we’re driving now?” She puts the car in park while Aaron rubs his eyes and stretches.
“We’ll make it disappear, it won’t be traced back to either of you. Come on darlin’, no need to be difficult about this.”
She looks to Aaron who nods, seemingly agreeing to the plan and they both get out of the car.
“Okay, see you soon.” She throws the phone to the ground and smashed it. She wouldn’t be needing it anymore.
*
It was almost 3AM when a young cop comes running into the small conference room they’re sitting in.
“They’re in Arizona! We got a call from a detective, they saw the suspects getting into a car at a gas station.”
“They have help.” Jason stands up at the same time as Dave.
“But they won’t be able to board a plane. Everyone knows to be on the lookout.” The cops says, his voice hopeful.
“They have money, connections. They’re probably flying out from a smaller airport, one that won’t be stopping them if given enough money.” Dave explains as they start to walk through the precinct, they didn’t have a lot of time.
“Like a bribe? But that’s illegal.”
Dave smiles at the other man’s innocence and squeezes his shoulder.
“Money will get you anywhere, kid.”
“Come on, we need to get there, we’re calling the team in Arizona on the way.” Jason is already holding the phone to his ear as he urges Dave to follow him. “We’ve got them.”
*
“The cops are coming, the whole fucking cavaliere.” Clyde says with a grin on his face, clearly enjoying the situation.
“How do you know?” Aaron asks as he sits on the small private plane next to Emily who’s leaning into his side, his arm around her shoulders.
“I have men everywhere, and I’ve gotten three calls already.” The British man looks at them with something close to glee. “You did always know how to make things interesting, darlin’”
Emily rolls her eyes but still smiles at his words. She feels Aaron’s hand tightening on her upper arm and she looks at him in amusement. She found his jealousy sexy, she always had, and he always wanted to put his claim on her, always wanted her to feel like his.
“Thank you for helping us out.” She says to the man across from her.
“I’ll always like helping an old friend out. For a fee that is.” He winks at her and she shakes her head at the way all Clyde always wanted was money. She takes the suitcase beside her and slides it over the table, her eyebrow arched as she waits for him to open it.
“That should be more than enough.” She swears she sees his eyes light up at the sight of the bills in neat stacks in the suitcase. “Now, get us out of here.” Her gun rests on the table and she picks it up casually and she feels Aaron tense against her side, always ready to back her up if needed.
“No need to get violent Em. You’ll be in the air in less than thirty.”
“We’ll have to be quicker than that.” Aaron says as he looks out the window where he sees blue lights in the distance. “We have to go now.”
*
Dave doesn’t think the devastation of making it only minutes too late would be something he’ll ever get over. He will never forget seeing the small plane take off, a shadow of a man looking back at him from the air.
He wouldn’t give up on finding them, but realistically he knew that he might never do. There was no trail where they had gone, no transactions to look into, no bank accounts, not even the people helping their unsubs had their real identeties. It wouldn’t have mattered if they did though, they were gone. All of them.
*
Aaron smiles his thanks at the bartender as he grabs their drinks. The sun was hot on his skin, the sand soft as he walked in his flipflops towards the sunbeds where Emily was laying. She looks up at him from behind her glasses, her skin shining from the lotion and sweat and he licks his lips at the sight.
When he hands her the colorful drink she had asked for, she sits up in her chair. She clinks her glass with his, a smile on her face. “We made it.”

AN: this comes after chapter 10
Note: fake dating Clyde is a blessing and a curse.
Tumblr media
You stayed back late on Monday to work on some lyrics and some other things that you needed to get put in order before the big performance at Pete’s event. This event was extremely important. It held great meaning you needed everything to go perfectly.
So there you sat at 8pm click click clicking away at your computer. You had to admit, all this work that you’d fallen back on was almost too much for you to handle. You’d even briefly hovered over Nichole’s contact to summon her. You weren’t sure if you wanted her moral support or her simple help, but you needed something.
The minutes ticked by as you stared at your laptop display, wondering way to type. Making up scenarios, even remembering and reviewing past arguments wishing you’d spoken your mind. That was something you had to work on.
You were halfway though reciting what you were going to say at the concert, expressing what a great honour it would be when the door slammed open
You looked over at the door to see the culprit, it was Kenny. With Stan closely following behind.
Kenny slammed his files down on the desk slamming his hand on top, Stan mumbling something about calming down. Kenny sat at the table sulking as Stan’s face morphed into that of worry upon noticing you.
You stared at the scene for a moment, collecting your barrings. “What’s wrong?”
You had honestly expected the answer to be, I can’t work out my chords and managed snapped the strings on my guitar or I got offered to do a brand deal with a shitty company that I don’t even like and I don’t want to do it however my hands are tied since the promotion team wants me to do it.
Instead, you got; “your stupid boyfriend is what’s wrong”
By now, the fake dating thing was old news: you didn’t startle anymore when Clyde was referred to as your boyfriend. Still, Kenny’s words were so full of venom and unexpected that you couldn’t help but answer, “Who?”
“Donovan.” He spat his name like it was a curse.
“Oh.”
“He wasn’t the nicest to Kenny just now.” Stan explained in a significantly milder tone, avoiding your eyes, you knew these boys too well, they never got like this about anyone, no matter what.
“Oh. Right.” This was bad. Very bad. “What happened.”
“He essentially told me I’ll never amount to anything as an guitarist. He fucked with my guitar tune too.”
“Shit.” You bit your lower lip. “I’m sorry, Kenny.”
“It’s completely fucked up all of, well, everything. Set me back. All because Donovan has to go and nitpick everything. I didn’t even ask for his fucking opinion.”
You chewed on the inside of your cheek, trying to come up with something inspiring to say and failing miserably. “I’m really sorry.”
“Y/N do you guys talk about this stuff?” Stan asked out of the blue, eyeing your suspiciously. “Does he tell you about his opinions on this stuff?”
“What? No. No, I…” I talk to him for exactly fifteen minutes a week. And okay, yeah, I’ve kissed him. Twice. Sat on his lap. Once. But it’s just that, and Clyde—he speaks very little. I actually which he spoke more, since I know nothing about him and I’d like to know at least something. “No, he doesn’t. I think it would probably be awkward if he did, considering you’re, you know, in the same band as me.”
“God.” Kenny slammed his hand against the edge of the table, making your jump. “He’s such a dick. What as sadistic asshole.”
You opened your mouth—to do what, exactly? To defend Clyde? He was a dick. You had seen him being a dick. In full action. Maybe not recently, and maybe not to you, but if you’d wanted to count on your fingers the number of acquaintances who’d ended up in tears because of him, well…you would be both your hands, then your toes. Maybe borrow some of Stan’s, too.
“Did he explain where you should improve at least? What you need to work on?”
“Everything. He wants me to change everything right from my work ethic to how much I practice to how I look at my guitar when I play. And the way he said it, his air of superiority—he is so arrogant.”
Well. It was no news, really. You scratched your cheek, trying not to sigh. “It sucks. I’m sorry,” you repeated once more, at a loss for anything better and genuinely feelings for Kenny.
“Yeah, well.” He stood and walked around the table, coming to a stop in front of you. “You should be.”
You froze. Surely you just misheard. “Excuse me?”
“You’re his girlfriend.”
“I…” really am not. But, even if you had been. “Ken, I’m only dating him. I’m not him. How could I have anything to do with—”
“You’re fine with all this. With him acting like that—like an asshole on a power trip. You don’t give a shit about the way he treats everyone in the world, otherwise, you wouldn’t be able to stomach being with him.”
At his tone, you took a step back.
Stan lifted his hands in a peacekeeping gesture, coming to stand between you. “Hey, now. Let’s not—”
“I’m not the one who said that to you, Ken.”
“Maybe. But you don’t care that half of the fucking world lives in terror of your boyfriend, either.”
You felt anger bubbling up. “That is not true, you know that. I am able to keep my professional relationships and my personal feelings for him—”
“Because you don’t give a shut about anyone but yourself.”
“That’s unfair. What am I supposed to do?”
“Get him to stop being a dick.”
“Get him—” you sputtered. “Ken, how is that a rational response for you to have about Clyde failing you—”
“Ah, Clyde, is it?”
You gritted your teeth. “Yes, clyde. What should I call my boyfriend to better please you? Mr Clyde Donovan?”
“If you were a half decent ally to the world, you would just dump your fucking boyfriend.”
“How—do you even realise how little sense you’re…”
No reason to finish your sentence, since Kenny was storming out of the room and slamming the door behind him. Clearly he was uninterested in anything you might have wanted to add. You ran a hand down your face, unsettled by what had just happened.
“He’s not…he doesn’t really mean that. Not about you at least.” Stan said, scratching his head. A nice reminder to you that he had been standing there, in the room, for the entirety of this conversation. Front-row seat. It was going to take maybe fifteen minutes before everyone else’s knew about it.
You nodded. “Yeah, well.” Being horrible to me isn’t going to make his improvements go any faster, you didn’t add
Stan sighed. “It’s not personal. But you have to understand it’s weird for us. Because Donovan…maybe he wasn’t like this to you but you must know the kind of guy he is right?”
You rolled you eyes. You were fully aware, you’d been told millions of times by now. You were tired if anything. All you did was nod, grab your belongings and leave, not saying a word leaving Stan stood in that room alone. You didn’t have the energy for any of this.
Tumblr media
You lay on your unmade bed looking up at the glow-in-the-dark stars. It had been more that two years since your had borrowed Kyle’s strop ladder and fearfully stuck them to the ceiling. The glue was starting to give our, and the large comet in the corner by the window was going to fall off any day now. Without thinking it through r you roiled out of bed and rummaged inside the pocket of your discarded jeans until you found your cellphone.
You hadn’t used Clydes number since he’d given it to your a few days ago—“If anything comes up or you need to cancel, just give me a call. It’s quicker than email.” When you tapped the blue icon under his name a white scene piped up, a blank slate with no history of previous messages. It gave you an odd rush of anxiety, so much so that you typed the text with one hand while biting the thumbnail on the other.

Tweek: so I’ve read a lot of books these last days and I started to figure out how this world works
Craig: mhm…tell me some things you learned !
Tumblr media
Tweek: so I found out this weird fact about the people who were cursed here like us… the book said if you were cursed in the inBetween that means it’s gonna be your normal form here … just like how Clyde 2 said so he wasn’t lying or something I don’t trust that guy so much
Craig: yeah me neither… but if our curses is our normal form does that mean we have another curse ?!
Tweek: exactly…
Craig: this place will never fail confusing me
Tweek: it’s really weird but I’m reading here a book about the leader of the inBetween … do you want to hear what it says I’m really curious if he’s as bad as clyde2 said
Craig: let’s see what the book says
Tweek: the book says :
The ruler of the inBetween most of the time keeps his identify unknown only few who know him personally … he is immortal because he can’t go to heaven or hell because he takes the shape of an angel and a demon.he never looked for peace… he is pure evil and if he knew i’m writing this book he will probably kill me.he doesn’t only rule the inBetween in fact when he took control on this dimension he was able to rule every other dimension you can possibly imagine … but there is one Dimension he hasn’t ruled yet …The human world ! a very simple place where powerless people live there but he started his plan in ruling it ....as someone knowing the ruler personally I am writing about his plan for ruling this dimension: He wanted to go with teenagers because they get fooled easily He choose a little town called “South Park” To go with sense it’s a very small place where no one around will notice him …If these boys will reach the inBetween one day which is probably happening soon his plan will be so close to succeed…I want to write all of this in the book and put it here so if these boys came here one day they should be careful that one of you…is lying and pretending to be your friend !
Tumblr media
Craig: dude…
Tweek: this is worse then I thought Craig ONE OF US IS A TRAITOR W-WHAT SHOULD WE DO..!!? Someone is after us soon we’re all gonna die !!
Craig: Tweek… calm down no one is gonna die… but how can possibly any of us be the ruler of the inBetween
Tweek: i don’t know dude it’s … weird !
Craig: Craig who over he is … he’s is the cause of all our troubles … he is behind Clyde’s death too ! Because that was Obviously planed just to send us to the inBetween and get us cursed … who ever did that Is a big jerk !
Tweek: oh god why would any of our friends be that cruel … and the one who wrote this book is defintiely Clyde 2
Craig: yeah It’s him…but I’m thinking now as the leader of our group how I’m gonna possibly preach this fact to them without everyone freaking out and get full of suspicion… but I’m going to tell them anyways
Tumblr media
Craig: uhmm- guys I have bad news…
Clyde: oh wow how can this place get worse
Craig: me and Tweek read a book about that leader of the inBetween and uhm turns out he is the one behind all our problems
Kyle: what do you mean by that ?
Craig: he was the one who planed to curse us and introduce us to this place and he is the one who’s behind Clyde’s death but we don't know why would he wanted us to be cursed at the first place this guy has a very weird intensions but it's evil
Clyde: oh god…
Craig: that’s not the problem Clyde…there is a traitor here one of us can be the ruler of the inBetween
Stan: h-how?!
Tweek: T-the book was actually written by Clyde 2 he said that he knows the leader his self and knows all his plans and he said that part of his plans to take over our world a-and he is pretending to be one of us here
Craig: any of you could be the one behind of our problems
Eric: how can we know that it’s not you … ?!
Craig: it’s not me dude..
Tweek: and uhmm the book also said that this guy could be a demon and an angel at the same time
Stan: a demon ha… ?
Tweek: why are you looking me
Stan: no one is looking and you but I just remembered who is a demon here
Tweek: god damn it I’m not this guy I would never do something like this to Clyde are you all going to blame me now ?!
Tumblr media
Tweek: huh- it’s not just me look at Kenny he’s an angel and he is immortal why no one’s talking ya’ll just like to blame me !!
Kenny: whoa dude what did I ever do to you to blame me
Tweek: do I need to explain you’re the most suspicious one here an-
Craig: Guys stop this… this isn’t gonna get us anywhere if we wanna find out who is the traitor here we need to think calmly and with out pointing fingers at each other alright ?
Kyle: Craig is right … I suggest we should make a suspicions list
Craig: good idea but we need to be logical here and don’t just blame any one
Tweek: not gonna work with Stan’s stupid behavior
Craig: Tweek… please stop !
Tweek: fine fine…
Tumblr media
Kyle: so here’s the list let’s start discussing
Craig: I think Clyde can never be the traitor I mean the traitor choose him as the victim
Token: yeah that’s right he’s innocent
Clyde: wow… thanks
Jimmy: i-I suspect that Kenny can be the t-t-traitor j-just look at him
Craig: Jimmy is right I’ll put Kenny as a suspicious one
Kenny: lame...
Eric: you know Craig might be the one because he’s the one who found the book from all out of the books in the library wow what a coincidence man !
Kyle: good point smartass
Craig: I’m not the one who found the book !
Token: you should already add Tweek to the list he is a demon
Tweek: I’m an imp there is differences dude…
Token: still counts
Tweek: you’re not gonna put me in that list are you ?!
Kyle: do we have another choice ?!
Tweek: ghaaah- everyone now think I’m a traitor you guys are having the wrong idea about me
Craig: Tweek Tweek … no one said it’s you… you have to calm down a little
Tweek: ngh-I don’t know this whole thing is freaking me out !
Token: so what do you think of Jimmy could he be the secret traitor
Jimmy: it’s a joke r-right ?
Token: yup… you won’t do such a thing
Tumblr media
Kyle: so that’s the list the ones with a check mark are the most suspicious here and the question marks are for not sure And the X is for innocents
Tweek: oh god what should I do Craig ?! soon they will all think I’m a traitor
Craig: Tweek Honey just don’t think so much about it I promise you it’s gonna be alright.. let’s just discuss it later
Tweek: nghh- alright
Kenny: lame… you all know that any of us can hide both of his demon-angel powers here it’s not just us me and Tweek …
Craig: you’re right but this list is following logic Kenny we don’t want to miss the list up
Kenny: whatever
Clyde: it’s ok Tweek and Kenny I’m sure everything soon will be solved and the truth actually comes out and your innocence will be proven… I have faith in you guys
Tweek: t-thank you Clyde..
Clyde: you’re welcome I have to go now
Stan: yeh me too
every one leaves
Tumblr media
Tweek: Why is everyone like this with me I- I will never do such a thing and you know that right Craig !?
Craig: of course I know
Tweek: I can’t take it anymore here it’s all missing my head up I just wanna go back to my normal life... it’s just too much to handle
Craig: believe me Tweek I also want everything to go back the way they were
Tweek: they all probably hate me now… I don’t know what I should do
Craig: cmon Tweek I’m sure this whole miss can be sorted out it’s just a stupid list
Tweek: Craig… you believe me right ??
Tumblr media
Craig: of course I do Tweek and I want you to know that no matter what you do or what happens I’m always on your side
Tumblr media
Tweek: thank you Craig … you’re the best…I’m glad some one is on my side
Craig: it’s the less I can do for you Tweek
Tumblr media
Craig: well Tweek I have to leave now me and Clyde 2 have to discuss our next mission
Tweek: alright… see you later Craig !
Craig: take care honey !

Author’s Note: Should I be doing uni work? Yes. Am I writing fanfics instead? Yes.
23rd March 1986
You heard the noise of a car pulling up outside and you immediately ducked down behind the sofa, making sure to stay hidden. You slowly approached the window and peeked out seeing Dustin, Robin, Steve and Max with various bags of food in their hands. You immediately relax and stand up, heading out of the house. All four of them immediately turn round, jumping until they realise it’s you and they immediately relax.
‘Hey is Eddie in the house with you?’ Steve asks you and you shake your head.
‘No, he’s out in the boathouse. I told him everything.’ You shrug, yawning as you do. You hadn’t slept in last night. You’d been up the whole night, the guilt of your actions consuming you. Of course, you felt terrible for lying to Eddie for the last two years but you were only doing it to protect him. Although, even in your own head that excuse sounded pathetic. You knew if he had been lying to you for years, you’d been a million times more pissed than he was.
‘How did that go?’ Robin asked, turning to face you.
‘How would you feel if the person you loved had been lying to you for two years and was actually someone completely different?’ You ask, your face completely deadpan. The only good thing about your lack of sleep was that you physically didn’t have the energy to cry.
‘We bought Oreos for you.’ Steve says trying to make you feel better. You thanked him, taking the packet from his hands and opening it as you head into the boathouse. You tried not to look at Eddie as you walked in, heading for the furthest corner while Eddie sat down and grabbed a box of cereal, eating it heavily.
‘So we got some good news and some bad news. How do you prefer it?’ Dustin asks the two of you as you shrug.
‘Bad news first, always.’ Eddie says between mouthfuls of food.
‘All right, bad news. We tapped into the Hawkins PD dispatch with our Cerebro and they’re definitely looking for you. Also, they’re pretty convinced you killed Chrissy, like 100% kind of convinced. And Y/N they’re pretty sure you’re involved too.’ Dustin tells you and you let out a groan.
‘Great so they think we’re some satanic Bonnie and Clyde.’ You sigh, rubbing your face.
‘Pretty much.’ Dustin shrugs as if he hadn’t just told you you were wanted for murder.
‘And the good news?’ Eddie asks changing the topic back.
‘Your names haven’t gone public yet but if we found out about you, it’s only a matter of time before others do and once that gets out everyone and their shallow-minded mother is going to be gunning for you. Both of you.’ Robin informs to two of you and you fail to see how what she just said is good news. She basically just told you, you only had a few days before people would be trying to kill you.
‘Hunt the freak, right?’ Eddie responds sarcastically.
‘So before that happens, we find Vecna, kill him and prove your innocence.’ Dustin says as though it’s the easiest thing in the world.
‘That’s all, Dustin? That’s all?’ Eddie seems about as hopeless as you do at the current moment,.
‘Listen, Eddie, I know everything Dustin is saying sounds totally delusional, but we’ve actually been through this before. I mean, they have a few times, and I have once-‘
‘Robin, I’ve already told Eddie everything.’ You cut her off, a frustrated tone in your voice. You don’t mean to be rude to Robin but you really don’t need a reminder of your fuck up.
A moment later, you all hear a police siren and everyone starts freaking out, telling you and Eddie to climb under the tarp. You end up pressed against Eddie face to face with him. Considering your previous argument it’s an incredibly uncomfortable experience for both of you. Once the sirens have gone past and it seems that you’re in the clear, you let out a sigh of relief as the others pull the tarp off you.
‘There was like an entire cavalry out there. We should probably go check what that was about.’ Steve said and you nodded.
‘Yeah, it might be another victim which is going to look great for us.’ You tell them. You say goodbye and the four of them walk out. You hesitate for a moment before making a decision to leave Eddie alone and give him space until he wants to talk to you.
‘Wait.’ Eddie says, so quietly you almost miss it but you hear him and turn around, seeing him fiddling with his hands. ‘I’m not saying I forgive you but I want you to explain everything, from the beginning.’
‘Okay, but it’s going to take a while.’ You say sitting down in the boat in front of him. You tell him everything from the beginning, starting with your getting kidnapped, the moment you’re pretty sure you travelled back in time, how you escaped from the facility and everything that has happened since you arrived in Hawkins. It takes a while to explain anything but by the time you finished you’re pretty sure you’ve left no detail out.
‘Wow, that’s a lot.’ Eddie breathes out, his mind clearly racing. ‘I have so many questions.’
‘I can try and answer them but I don’t know much about any of this.’ You shrug. You really don’t fully understand your powers or anything that’s happened but you can try to explain it to Eddie.
‘Okay, well first of all, why haven’t you gone back to your own time?’ Eddie asked.
‘I tried when I first escaped from the facility and realised that I wasn’t in my own time but I’ve never been able to figure out how to control it and then I met you and I stopped trying.’ You admitted the truth of why you had stayed, for Eddie.
‘Okay, and why time travel? I mean the other four make sense together but time travel seems completely random.’
‘I don’t know, I’ve tried thinking of a hundred different theories but any of them could be right. It could be that the other four things are the four elements and time is a sort of the fifth element, could be random. I have no idea.’
‘Where did your powers even come from?’
‘No idea, it wasn’t a radioactive spider bite or anything. Just around the age of 12 weird stuff started happening around me and then I realised I was responsible for the weird stuff.’ Eddie looked like he was about to ask another question when the walkie in your bag went off. You moved over to your bag and grabbed the walkie out of it to hear Dustin on the other end.
‘Dustin, what’s up?’ You ask into the walkie.
‘Y/N! You had a headache on Friday right?’ Dustin asks, panic in his voice.
‘Yeah, I did. What does that have to do with anything?’ You ask confused.
‘Okay have you experienced nosebleeds, nightmares, trouble sleeping?’
‘No, but again what does that have to do with anything?’ You were getting frustrated at this point, annoyed that Dustin was asking you questions with no context.
‘Headaches are one of the symptoms that Vecna’s victims were suffering from so we just wanted to check if you’d experienced any of the others.’ Your eyes widened. Was there a chance you were possessed by Vecna? No, you hadn’t experienced anything else.
‘No, I haven’t but I’ll let you know if I do.’ You push the antenna back into the walkie and look over at Eddie who looks incredibly freaked out.
‘You sure you’re okay? Because I don’t think I could deal with that shit happening again. Especially since it’s you and not some random girl.’ Eddie sounds panicked at this point.
‘Ed, I’m fine. You’d have known if I was having nightmares or anything like that.’ You tell him, sitting back down in front of him. You really didn’t want him to worry or think that there was an actual chance of you being possessed. You were pretty sure you were an unlikely victim.
‘Good, but I’m not letting you out of my sight because if you die- if you die-‘ Eddie can’t even get the sentence out, pacing back and forth, tugging on the ends of his hair.
‘Eddie, I’m not going to die. Well not anytime soon. I promise.’ You tell him, standing up. You want to wrap your arms around him to comfort him but you still don’t know if you’re at that point again. Eddie acts first, wrapping his arms around you and pulling you in close to him.
‘Fuck, I’m still mad at you but I also don’t want you to die thinking that I hate you.’ He says holding you close.
‘Again not going to die and I’d understand if you hated me, I hate myself pretty badly right now.’ You say, wrapping your arms around his waist and pressing your head into his chest.
‘I don’t hate you. I’m just pretty pissed off that you kept everything from me. I mean I could’ve helped.’
‘That’s why I kept it from you because I knew you’d want to help and I didn’t want you getting hurt.’ You look up at him.
‘I guess I understand, doesn’t make it any easier though.’
‘Yeah, I should’ve told you.’
‘Yeah, you should’ve but it doesn’t matter now. It’s probably not a good idea to spend the last days before we either get taken to prison or killed arguing.’ Eddie kisses the top of your head.
25th March 1986
‘I’m just saying Eddie, just because I’ve never heard of Corroded Coffin doesn’t mean they aren’t famous in the future.’ You say lying on the couch as Eddie digs through the covers looking for something to eat. You were tired and hungry, you had hardly eaten and slept over the past few days and Eddie’s constant questions were not helping your mood.
‘Okay but you listen to metal music so if you haven’t heard of us, that probably means we aren’t famous.’ Eddie says as he continues to open the cupboards.
‘Or and consider this, we don’t know how my time travel power actually works so me travelling back to 1982 caused a fracture in the timeline and now everything I know about the future is bullshit because it’s all divided.’ You point out and Eddie frowns over at you.
‘This is way too confusing.’
‘I agree, that’s why I don’t think about it. As long as Buffy the Vampire Slayer still comes out in 1997, I’ll be happy.’ You shrug.
‘What the hell is that?’ Eddie stops his search to frown at you.
‘It’s my favourite TV show. It’s about a girl, called Buffy, who slays vampires. The title is fairly self-explanatory.’
‘And let me guess, she also dates vampires because it’s just that predictable.’ Eddie pulls a can out of a cupboard alongside a pan and starts heating up the food inside.
‘You know you’re no fun and just so you know, when it airs in 11 years, I’m going to make you watch it.’
‘Remind me in 10 years to divorce you so I don’t have to do that.’ He turns around and smirks at you.
‘Wow, rude.’ You frown at him. ‘Go make a call to Dustin and try and get us some more food.’ You change the subject as Eddie hands you the pot and you eat some of the food in front of you. It not exactly filling you but it would have to do. As you ate, Eddie kept speaking into the walkie-talkie until eventually Nancy picks up. She cuts the conversation short and Eddie lets out a frustrated groan as he flops down next to you on the couch. You hand him over the pot and he finishes off the food quickly.
‘You better plan on sharing that six-pack, considering you took half of my cigarettes.’
‘I thought you didn’t like beer.’
‘I don’t but I don’t think I’m getting a bottle of rum so it’ll have to do.’ Eddie lets out a hum in response, clearly thinking about something.
‘Hey, can you cause earthquakes?’ He eventually asks and you frown at him.
‘What?’ You ask confused.
‘Well you can control earth so theoretically, you should be able to cause earthquakes.’
‘Yeah, I can, I mean not big ones, not without some sort of catalyst but little ones.’
‘Can you show me?’ Eddie asks excitedly.
‘No! I’m pretty sure a random earthquake would alert people to our location. And it definitely won’t dispel the satan worshipper rumours.’ You point out.
‘Fine, what about tornados or hurricanes or tsunamis? Can you make those?’
‘Theoretically yes but I don’t think causing a natural disaster is a good idea currently.’
‘I’m not saying you should, it’s just it might be useful if something bad happens.’
‘You are aware that I currently have like no energy?’
‘Okay but in an emergency.’
‘Maybe we should be more concerned about the emergency of starving to death while the other’s run around?’
‘Whatever, we should probably head back to the boathouse, considering we’re meant to be hiding.’ Eddie points out and you let out a groan.
‘But it’s so uncomfortable in there.’ You whine but stand up anyway.
‘Sorry, next time we’re on the run for murder I’ll make sure we hide out in a Hilton.’ Eddie responds sarcastically as you both walk back over to the boat house.
A few hours later and you were officially bored out of your mind. Eddie was sitting in the corner throwing rocks into the empty can while you lay in the boat, making flames dance across your fingers.
‘What happened to no energy?’ Eddie asks looking over at you.
‘I’m bored and this is vaguely entertaining, plus it’s keeping me warm.’ You reply. Eddie goes to respond but hears a car pull up outside and quickly ducks down behind the window. You’re about to point out that it’s probably just Steve but Eddie lets out a swear as he looks out the window.
‘Shit, it’s Jason and his friends.’ Eddie whispers and you quickly sit up, making the boat rock beneath you.
‘Fuck, fuck, fuck.’ You say looking around you. Eddie grabs the walkie and starts calling for Dustin again but you get no response as the two of you freak out. You look around, trying to figure a way out. Suddenly you have an idea, moving over to the doors that open out onto the lake.
‘Grab the oars.’ You whisper to Eddie as you open the doors.
‘Your plan is to sail out of here? Why don’t you like set them on fire or something?’
‘I’m not setting half the basketball team on fire. Then we’ll actually be murderers!’ You whisper yell. Eddie stands there for a moment before climbing into the boat with you and starting to row away. You keep a look out behind you as you see Jason appear from the boathouse. He yells at the two of you and starts stripping off his clothes to swim towards you. Eddie freaks out moving towards the engine and starts pulling the cord, but the engine was not starting. You sit there, frozen in fear of what they’re going to do if they catch you but eventually you snap out of it.
‘Move, Eddie!’ You yell practically shoving him back into the boat and holding your hand out, pushing the water behind you to propel the two of you along. Jason and Patrick continue to swim behind you as you try to make it to the other side of the lake as quickly as possible.
Suddenly, Patrick stops. You frown for a moment, hesitating before you see him go under and your eyes widened. You wonder for a second if you managed to do that without knowing but then when you see Patrick start to float in the air, you realise what’s actually happening. Vecna has him.
‘Shit, shit, shit.’ You hear Eddie yell from where he’s stood behind you. He loses his balance and falls into the water, attempting to grab you to keep himself steady but pulling you both under the water. You struggle slightly as you feel the cold water surround you before lifting your head up out of the water and taking a deep breath. You see Eddie next to you, mumbling, his wet hair clinging to his face. You move over to him, taking his head in your hands.
‘Eddie, we need to go, swim to shore. Keep your head under the water.’ Eddie looks at you confused. ‘I will make sure we can breathe just keep your head under so Jason can’t see us.’ Eddie nods and you duck under the water, creating an air bubble around your mouth and nose, Eddie does the same and you create one for him, focusing on swimming to shore while stopping the two of you from drowning. You can feel yourself fading slightly as you get closer to the shore, the days of minimal food and sleep catching up to you now you were using your powers.
Once you make it close to the shore you raise your head above the water, taking in a deep breath of fresh air. You climb out of the water, leaning against a tree and taking deep breaths as Eddie follows behind you.
‘How’d you know how to do that?’ Eddie asks.
‘Use to put me in a tank and fill it with water. It was learning how to do that or die.’ You pant out, sliding down the tree to sit on the floor.
‘Shit, you okay?’ Eddie moves to kneel next to you.
‘Yeah just need a minute.’ You say shivering, realising at that moment just how cold and wet you are. Eddie grabs the walkie out of his pocket and tries to speak into it but it doesn’t work.
‘Shit, can you fix it?’ Eddie says holding it out.
‘I could pull the water out but the electrics are already fried. There would be no point.’ You say with little enthusiasm. You keep shivering until you eventually decide it’s worth it to use your powers, sending a blast of hot air under your clothes until they’re eventually dry. You do the same to Eddie but immediately regret the decision as black spots start appearing in your vision.
‘Okay, we need to get out of here, cops will be here soon.’ You say, standing up, stumbling slightly and nearly falling but stopping yourself by resting your weight against the tree you’d been leaning on.
‘You’re not okay.’ Eddie says wrapping his arms around you to keep you upright.
‘I will be, let’s just get out of here.’ You tell Eddie.
Eddie supports your weight as the two of you walk through the woods. You were barely conscious at this point and by the time you make it to skull rock, Eddie was practically dragging you. He placed you against the rock and knelt down in front of you.
‘You should be safe here. I’m going to go see if we can find a walkie or something.’ You nod weakly in response as Eddie walks away. You try to stay conscious but pretty soon after your eyes flutter shut and you fall asleep.

not you reigniting my jeronica shipper soul with a few graphics bc i legit opened ao3 and checked if you updated tkof in the middle of a shift break
but seriously after a third read of chap 11 (christ you weren’t kidding when you said you’d place an exorbitant amount of emOTIONS and fcking angst in that chapter) i just need to know:
will the sequel be heavy angst with a happy ending or angst for like the first few chapters then we actually get to see them happy? like am i gonna see established relationship scenes in new york??? bc gOOOD god the emotional turmoil tkof is i need some happy jeronica
also, is the sequel planned to be release soon after the last chap or? no pressure bc obviously you have a life outside this fic (unfortunately, not the same can be said about me) but i lowkey might combust if they don’t get a happy ending
anyways, tkof is a work of art just incase you didn’t know
lolololol girl I'm so sorry I'm honestly not even sure what happened with chapter eleven, I just like blacked out and threw in every angsty trope I could think of (but also, the fact that you've read it three times??? my heart???)
re: the sequel, definitely a different vibe! my reasoning for even doing a sequel instead of just tying up tkof as a standalone was that I felt like I couldn't organically give them the kind of ending I wanted for them amidst all that drama/turmoil, you know? like I could pull some Bonnie and Clyde run away to NYC-type ending, which is fun in that toxic/ride or die kind of way, but I feel like they deserve the chance to develop something healthier/less co-dependent than that. Veronica's in a really bad place in tkof, like she has pretty much no one and is weathering all this stress and trauma, and as much as Jughead wants to spare her from all of that I think she needs to rebuild/heal/find herself again on her own terms before she can genuinely be in something real. I like to think of tkof as a right person, wrong time kind of deal, and wbbs as their unlikely second chance at it.
re: the mood, definitely not the same angst-fest as tkof! the first few chapters are going to be heavy on the tension because things are left wildly unresolved, particularly to Jughead, and there's a lot of festering emotion/resentment that's been sublimated over five years that's now roiling right back up to the surface. that said, the setting/stakes/plot of wbbs is really different, like this is set in the NYC publishing world and there's no gang wars or serial killers or general riverdale bs heightening everything around them, so you get to see way more normal/everyday interactions for them, which is what I really wanted. this is their Dair era of bickering over manuscript edits and schmoozy cocktail hours and bookstore meet-and-greets and apartment life, and you also get to see just how unapologetically ambitious they both are (something that sets them apart from Betty and Archie and their white-picket-fence-small-town aspirations, I think), which is really fun. They have different ideas of success but they're both starving to prove themselves, and that initially presents as friction but eventually bonds them.
TLDR, the sequel is my way of giving them a chance to reconnect in a setting where they can finally breathe, and even though it starts off dicey, it definitely progresses into what I think you're looking for. I'm looking forward to playing into the idea that they'll both have convinced themselves what they had in tkof was this fluke of teenage hormones and life/death adrenaline, but then here they are, five years later, drawn to each other all over again. Just makes it feel a lot realer, you know?
ANYWAY, sorry for the wikipedia article I just wrote you oh my LORD. I'm not taking any kind of break between the last chapter and the sequel so should be along the same updating speed (which is admittedly abysmal I'm sorry 🙃). thanks so much for the message!

“You’re damn lucky that ended as well as it did,” Jones is seething. “We’re not doing something like this again, you got that? Piss-poor plan.”
“I lived,” Jason protests, curling into the hoodie somebody brought for him. Jones scoffs.
“The bar for that is low.”
“It really is,” Drouot chimes in. Traitor. “Sorry.”
Apology not accepted.
“Nothing’s broken.”
“I suggest shutting up,” Jones warns from behind him. When no one comes riding to his aid, he figures that’s probably best. He’s proven correct when Clyde does that hum that means he’s deeply disappointed in somebody’s life choices.
“That was a little close,” he says mildly. “Could’ve gotten nasty.”
“It didn’t.”
“What do you call the cattle prod, then?” Jones cuts in. Ah. That. That was bad, that was admittedly bad. “Never mind–let me look at it in better lighting before you shower off.”
Ugh. Jason is really looking forward to the shower. He feels grimy and miserable already, and it didn’t…
Nothing happened. But strangers’ hands on his skin always puts him in a bad way and he wants to wash the memories of groping palms off.
“Fine,” he says shortly. “Let’s just get this over with.”
He gets to keep his sweatpants, at least, but he has to part with the hoodie. Getting it off is difficult–that prod upset the preexisting injury more than he thought–and Jones finally helps him yank it over his head.
“All right,” he says. “Lie back, be still.”
It’s not his fault. It’s not. But Jason’s heard that before in another context and he’s spent the last few days sans clothing, with people jeering at him and dragging him around, and…
And so sue him, he needs a goddamn minute.
“Please,” he blurts out, skin crawling from the dirt and the cold air. “Please don’t touch me. Just. Just give me a minute.”
Jones just shrugs.
“I need a water anyway,” he says. “Want one?”
It’s an out. He takes it gratefully.
“Yes.”
Too late, he realizes that he’s now alone. It’s not…he hasn’t been alone, not really, for this ordeal. Someone was almost always in his ear, keeping him updated or just entertained. Well, as entertained as possible, given the circumstances. But if things had gone wrong, or even just skewed, he’d been on his own.
Get it together.
He wants his hoodie back on. Well, really, he wants a shower, but right now he wants his hoodie.
A glass thunks down near him and he’s a little worried about the fact that he didn’t hear Jones come back.
Tired. Just tired.
“They didn’t drug you, did they?”
“Didn’t eat anything they gave me, so I don’t think so.” He doesn’t remember that. Surely he’d remember. “Just knocked me around a little.”
“Well, I’m worried about that.” A finger jabs at his stomach. “You don’t seem to have a concussion, and nobody ever died from bruised ribs, but if they fucked that up, I’m coming for them in the afterlife.”
Translation: I need to inspect it and you need to deal with it.
He drains his water, parched throat setting off celebratory firecrackers in response, and goes down.
“It’s fine.”
“Did you go to medical school?”
“Batman did a couple of semesters.”
“Batman can fuck off and die.” A warm, wet washcloth dabs at his stomach and he flinches. “Okay…you’ve got some burns, don’t get me wrong, but he didn’t actually hit the drill hole, so…” Firm prodding. “I want you to take it easy. No grappling, no sit-ups, no spin-kicks, no nothing for this entire weekend. You sleep, you eat, you hydrate. And that’s all you get to do.”
Well, that sucks. But at least he doesn’t have to have anything done to him.
“But it’s fine?”
“Amazingly, it’s fine.” Jones steps back and Jason sits up, arms curling around his ribs. “Don’t get crazy on it with the scrubbie, though.”
“Thanks.”
“Thank me by not putting yourself in these situations,” Jones gripes. “Go shower; not too hot, if you pass out in there I’ll kill you.”
He refills his water on the way, sticks a lid on it, and figures what Jones doesn’t know won’t hurt him. He just needs to get the phantom hands off his skin, that’s all.
It’s been a long few days.
THE END

Jeremy Jordan and Timothy Scott Bogart
People Out There Spinning Music Into Gold
by Jay S. Jacobs
There are lots of people whose name you probably don’t know who are responsible for much of the music which has made up the soundtrack of your life. People like Neil Bogart.
Neil Bogart started as a singer himself, but he did most of his moving and shaking behind the scenes in the music biz. First of all he was an exec at Cameo/Parkway Records, then he played a huge part of Buddah Records, working with the likes of Gladys Knight and the Pips and Bill Withers.
However, his real masterpiece was when he started his own record label – and against all odds, despite huge debts and substance abuse issues, he turned Casablanca Records and Filmworks into the biggest independent label of the 1970s. Bogart fought radio disinterest and bad breaks and eventually turned slow-burning acts like Donna Summer, KISS, Parliament/Funkadelic and The Village People into multi-platinum hitmakers.
He eventually sold Casablanca to Polygram for an eight-figure sum and soon started another company, Boardwalk Records, for which he signed Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and also Harry Chapin for his last album. However, by then Bogart had been diagnosed with cancer, dying in 1982 at the extremely young age of 39.
Tumblr media
It was an only-in-America type of success story, full of drugs, sex, rock, money, organized crime, dancing and tragedy. Bogart’s son Tim, who was just a boy when his father died, has been trying to get a film going showing his father’s dramatic life behind the scenes in the star-making process for decades. Now, finally, that movie has been created with Spinning Gold.
Playing the exuberant musical exec is Jeremy Jordan, star of stage (Newsies, Bonnie & Clyde, American Son) and small screen (TV’s Supergirl and Smash).
In voiceover during the film, his character of Neil Bogart acknowledges that while you may know who KISS and Donna Summer were, you probably have no clue who Neil Bogart was.
So, Jeremy Jordan, did you know who he was before getting the role?
“No,” Jordan laughed during a recent Zoom call. “Of course I didn't. No offense, Tim, but no, I didn't know who he was.”
“I don’t take offense,” Bogart replied, good-naturedly.
“I'm a music lover as much as anybody else,” Jordan continued. “But I never delved into who was the big record producer in the 60s and 70s. Of course I knew the music and the artists, but no, I knew nothing about Neil or Casablanca, or any of that. It was all new and exciting and wild to me when I when I heard about it.”
Tumblr media
Which is, of course, the whole point. Tim Bogart has been wanting to make sure his father got his due, both as an artist and as a businessman. He lived an incredibly dramatic, tragically short life. Now, Bogart is able to somewhat remedy the fact that most people are not familiar with his accomplishments. He loves the fact that finally, hopefully, his dad will get credit for all the amazing things he did in such a short time.
“It's extraordinary,” Bogart explained. “And it's extraordinary for so many reasons. Certainly, as the son who feels like here's this incredibly consequential character who I do think got lost to history, to some degree. Even though the music that he created, and so much of the business ideas that he created, still very much thrive today. So as a son, for sure. But I also just always thought it was an incredibly important story about dreamers and how important it is to persevere.”
Perseverance is something that the younger Bogart knows about. After all, he has been trying to get Spinning Gold made since the 1990s. At one point it looked like it would happen with Justin Timberlake playing his father, but that never happened due to Timberlake’s busy musical schedule. The delay did work out in a positive way, too, because at this point in time, and doing it as an independent – just like his dad did with music – Bogart was able to direct the film as well.
“Getting that story out, as well, as is just as moving for me,” Bogart said. “I do think this is a great parallel in the perseverance and the dream I had in making it.”
Tumblr media
Making it, of course, meant immersing themselves in the whole sex, drugs and rock and roll vibe of the 1970s music world.
“It's sex, drugs, and rock and roll and the character says that,” Bogart acknowledges. “But it was the ‘70s, which meant there was sex before it was deadly. Drugs, everyone was doing them, and it wasn't as dark. And rock'n'roll for sure. So I never looked at sex, drugs and rock and roll as a negative, even though so many pieces of the ‘70s tended to couch it as a negative or cautionary tale. I saw it as just an extraordinary time coming out of the ‘60s, this expressive moment in the ‘70s. I actually thought it was an extraordinarily cool time, even though I was really young. I wish I was a little bit older to experience it.”
Bogart and Jordan started to laugh. “What did they give you when you were six?” Jordan asked.
“Let me tell you, it was a lot of contact highs growing up,” Bogart said, still laughing.
Jordan turned a bit more serious. “Yeah, it's totally foreign to me, of course,” he acknowledged. “I'm not a big partier or anything like that. But it was really exciting to just dip my toe into that world. There was always a cigarette, or always pot, or always a drink. Every scene somebody is just medicating, or indulging, or anything. It was just normal back then.”
Yes, it certainly was a different time.
“It's kind of wild how quickly and vastly that changes,” Jordan said. “At least optically, I’m not saying that people don't still do that. But, not at work. You're not supposed to do it at work.”
Tumblr media
Another thing that Neil Bogart says during the voiceover of the film is that everything in the movie is true, even the parts which weren’t. Which is a great bit of mythmaking. However, were there any parts which Jordan felt that should be true, even if they were a bit hard to believe?
“What do I most hope was true?” Jordan asked. “I believe that there are kernels of truth in all of them. One of my favorite things about the film, and the way it was all put together, is that you're not really sure if you're getting the full story. But you're having a great time while doing it.”
Neil Bogart was all about having a great time.
“That was kind of Neil's vibe,” Jordan continued. “He just wanted to make you dance and wanted to entertain. He was a showman. That's what we're doing with this movie, finding the most fun way to tell these stories. What's great is that there's always little winks that go throughout the film. He's got this flash paper that goes off. To me, that's always an indication that maybe what you're seeing is not really the reality.”
Reality. What a concept.
“Then by the end, he's painting his own [reality],” Jordan says. “He's writing his own ending, and it is really kind of beautiful and magical and different in that way. We don't feel tied to ultra reality, and this is the exact perfect way that this happened. It doesn't have to be [real] because it was sex, drugs, rock and roll. It was the journey as opposed to the actual truth of it all.”

I don’t know how long this post will be. I made the mistake of watching Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince yesterday, and as a result ended up crying for over seven, eight hours? Because I went straight from Dumbledore’s death to the idea of seeing my Alex again, and ended up watching the episode, and going to sleep afterwards, completely numb. On that cheery note, here are my thoughts on 4x11.
I’m going to disappoint you guys, and say that I once again skipped all scenes outside of the liminal space. I cannot tell you how little I care about Clyde, Shivani, and Liz. Why, oh why, wasn’t Rosa the main character? I genuinely have come to love her so much and find her care and growing wisdom refreshing and so heartwarming to see.
Alas, we have Liz. Here’s the thing. I know I haven’t been this hard on Liz since season 2, but that’s because I can’t stand the stupid decisions anymore. I will fight (not really, I’m a pacifist, but I will debate) anyone who tries to blame Max and pin him as the bad guy for Liz’s decisions. If Liz had always been a selfless, giving person, I still wouldn’t blame Max for her addiction now, but I would understand why she felt the need to go down this route. That, however, is not who she’s always been. She’s gone behind Max’s back how many times now? Put him and his siblings in danger how many times now? And all for what? The science, scientific breakthroughs, blah blah blah. I’m so sick of people finding reasons to pin the blame on Max, for mocking him for being “the savior” when it’s like, guys. He didn’t give himself that title. He’s had to live as his siblings’ protector his entire life, and yeah he didn’t always go about it the right way, but he tries. Maybe I just relate to him too much, maybe I just understand the weight of that responsibility the way so many others don’t seem to. I don’t know. I just think he’s a good guy who loves so much and only gets noticed for his mistakes.
Also, @ineedahugesticktobeatyou mentioned this in their thought post, which is where I got the idea and why I tag them now, but... why is the turquoise metaphor Max and Liz’s thing? I mean, Michael was the one that worked on the turquoise the most, Michael was the one who considered what the turquoise’s power meant or what it could do. I’m not going to harp on this too much since I don’t even remember how they found the stones in the first place, but when I think of the turquoise, I think of malex.
I don’t know who was in charge of the season 3 plotline, but can we bring that person back please? It feels like so many people have reverted back to childish, selfish decisions and teen drama plots. The only kybel I caught was the moment Kyle asked Isobel at the beginning if they could forget what had happened, and Isobel lied and said that was what she wanted, too. That’s literally a scene from The Mortal Instruments, and Clary and Jace were no older than seventeen then. I mean?
Okay. Now about Malex. Listen. I mentioned this in a previous ask post, but I’m kind of going through the episodes at the moment kind of... numb? I can’t scream about the engagement and get all giddy and excited like everyone else because I’m just in countdown mode right now. For that reason, I think I’m not overcome with joy enough to overlook certain things as some others might be able to. If we’d had another season (I refuse to cry at eight in the morning), I’d just be happy and excited and eager for another season with them as a married couple, though I don’t think they would’ve gotten married if there was another season. But my point is that I really think I would be all positive and so happy that I could let the details go. As it stands, I cannot. I’ll only start with a few things that I wished had happened, and then I’ll get into the stuff I loved.
So here I go with my nitpicks. I wish we never got that stupid line about M*ria. I’m so sick of everything turning around just to praise her when she is the fucking villain of this story and has been since season one, so don’t start with me. I wish we’d had Michael kiss Alex more when he found him, kiss him harder, cling to him, laugh into the crook of his neck. The stills proved that they had more of a reaction that was--surprise surprise--cut. I wish Michael had hugged his shoulders and clung to his back, I wish he could’ve maybe cried at seeing him, I wish we could’ve had him kissing whatever of Alex he could reach, even as they just stood there. And for the finale, and this is kind of a big one, I wish the proposal had come from Michael.
Since the beginning, we’ve had a show of Alex loving Michael more than Michael loving Alex. I know that’s not true just because of the way Vlamis talks about Guerin and his love for Alex, but in terms of the show, it’s always Alex making the big gestures. It’s always Alex willing to risk whatever it took to protect Michael. Let’s be honest with ourselves here, Alex could not have been talked into not working on the Lockhart Machine and removing his father’s influence by anyone but Michael, and yet they have Michael talked multiple times into not jumping into the sinkhole after finding out Alex was there. I just wish that for something like this, it had come from Michael. I at least hope for a malex handprint scene next episode. Not the last episode, next episode. And I would like them back in Roswell by the end of the next episode, too, please.
As for the things I loved, that’s easy. Malex. Seeing Alex again, having him back in Michael’s arms where he belongs. I loved his competence, how impressed and proud (and turned on) Michael looked when he found out what Alex had done, Alex’s cute smile that said, Yeah, I’m smart, I know, but I just missed you and I’m so happy to see you.
I loved their time together under that blanket, the way Alex rested his head on Michael’s shoulder, Michael putting their foreheads together, Michael’s reaction to his proposal, the way he kissed him in the bed of that truck. (But we better get as graphic a smut scene as the CW allows with those two in the next two episodes, or may the gods help me....) I loved Alex reassuring Michael that he just wanted them to stay together no matter where they were, I loved Michael preferring to stay with Alex instead of going to look for alien fruit, I loved the proposal (regardless), and I’m not going to say I’m a malex oracle for some of those lines that came straight out of my most recent fanfic, but I will say that I’ve always loved Apollo and this makes sense.
Alex. I just loved having Alex back. I fear the numbness that follows these episodes for me because I feel like it means I’m not properly processing the coming end, and I worry for the moment it all hits me, but my friend reassures me that I just cried myself out yesterday before the episode ever aired. So. I’m clinging to that. I also only mention it because I want you guys to really understand that a) if I’m slow to post or sound uncaring when I respond to messages or comments, it’s because of this. It’s because I’m genuinely not doing okay and I don’t know how to handle not having Alex anymore. (I refuse to cry at 8:30 in the morning.) And b) I don’t want you guys to think that I’m wallowing in the parts I dislike of the episodes or that I don’t love every malex second we get. I live for those moments. I’m just not able to fully feel happiness right now, so I can pick up on the nitpicks where I didn’t really in season 3 because I knew another season was coming. That, and season 3 was genuinely better because we had Alex and malex longer.
If I’m ever grateful to the CW for anything, it’s Supernatural, and taking care of Tyler when he needed it. He’s my priority so as long as I know he got the rest he needed, I really don’t have much else to say. Until next episode, and here’s hoping for a malex handprint.

The Worldwide Privacy Tour Season 26 Episode 2 Thoughts
**SPOILERS**
-I don’t really have much to say about this episode. I liked it. It wasn’t as good as Cupid Ye. The whole time I felt like there was something missing and I felt like it could be better. I wasn’t as excited and into it as I was with Cupid Ye. It was still pretty good.
-I’m really happy that it seems like Token is going to have a more prominent role now, seeing that he’s still seen hanging out with Stan’s gang. I almost thought that his friendship with Kyle was going to be a one episode thing and even though he wasn’t actually seen with Kyle this time, I’m glad that he’s seen with Stan, Kyle and Cartman. I guess Stan didn’t hold anything against him for stealing his best friend away.
-I wonder how this is going to affect Craig’s gang though, considering that Token is now hanging out with Stan’s gang?? Not that he can’t be friends with both groups though. But I wonder if there’s going to be debate on whether Token is Stan’s gang or Craig’s gang if we continue to see him with Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Cartman. Same thing with Jimmy although he hangs out with both gangs. Maybe it’s just Clyde, Craig and Tweek now. I honestly wouldn’t mind that.
-I’ve never been a huge fan of Kyle. I like him, I definitely don’t hate him but I never really understood the hype with him. This episode has probably changed my mind though. I just found him to be super relatable in this episode. Like when Kyle said I want people to think I’m stronger, mentally, than I actually am, I felt that. And the speech he gave at the end was perfect. Him giving up on fighting with Ike and letting him feel the way he felt… perfect. Him being himself and letting go of his brand… perfect.
-Also, bad boy Kyle is now a thing. His little strut down the hallway was amazing.
-OMG IKE!! I always get so sad when I see him cry. But at the end when Kyle told him that it was okay for him to feel the way he felt and that he was just who he was… Kyle might’ve stolen  the Best Big Brother Award away from Kenny because my heart swelled up with joy in that scene.
-Bebe beating up Butters… that was so funny 😂 She didn’t have a scratch and yet she fucked him up!! I do wish we got more of a Butters/Kyle friendship though, I was thinking we were going to but then nothing ever really happened.
-And then the ending, I loved it so much. When Kyle walked down those stairs after comforting his brother to find that all his friends were there wanting to play with him, when his friends actually understood him and felt compassion towards him, I loved it. And when they went to play basketball, Kyle’s favorite sport, I loved it. And when Harry came and asked to play and started playing his drums… it was weird but it was okay. I LOVED THE ENDING!!
-I don’t really want to get into Harry and Meghan (even though I found their story hilarious) but I cracked up when Harry’s book was titled WAAHH 😂😂😂
-The only thing that bothered me was that I thought we were going to see Kyle’s hair????
-Also disappointed that we still didn’t get much Style. I don’t ship them but I like them being friends yet we got Kyle ignoring Stan and they we got Stan (kind of) ignoring Kyle. At least Stan came around in the end and stated that he thought Kyle needed some outdoor time.
-Going forwards, I really want a Stan, Clyde or Tweek episode. I swear I have not seen Stan smile ONCE this season and it’s killing me!! (Well I guess there was that one time in the cafeteria when he thought he was getting Kyle back but that was short lived) ALSO CRAIG’S GANG PLEASE!! That would be like killing one bird with two stones (is that the expression)
-Last thing, it says the next episode comes out on March 1st which is my BIRTHDAY so I really hope it’s good. Although, I don’t understand the two week gap since the last two episodes came out within a week of each other. Maybe that means it’s going to be extra good.

✖️✖️✖️ 11x04 The Lost Art of the Forehead Sweat
The one where... Reggie Something was erased from the X-Files. Maybe.
Best: Scully: I want to remember how it was. I want to remember how it all was. I wish we could just end things here, with Mulder and Scully smiling at each other on the couch of their Unremarkable House over a Sasquatch footprint shaped Goop-O ABC 🥰
Worst: The Trump era-ness of this episode is a LOT. I really enjoyed parts of it, but I had to just tune out other parts to avoid anxiety inducing truthiness flashbacks.
✔️ Flashlights
❌ Woods/Desert
❌ Slideshow
❌ Autopsy
✔️ Evidence Disappears
❌ Scully Misses It
❌ Mulder Ditch
✔️ Sunflower Seeds
✔️ Voiceover (Scully, Reggie narration)
❌ Catch Phrase
❌ Scully is a Medical Doctor
❌ Mulder is Spooky
❌ Scuuullllaaaaayy! Muullllderrrr!
❌ Fox/Dana
✔️ Inappropriate Touching (that I am here for)
✔️ Casual Scully (date night!)
✔️ Casual Mulder (Squatchin suit)
✔️ Trench Coats
❌ Bad Tie Watch
❌ Glasses Watch
✔️ Taking! It! Personally!: Mulder
50 States: DC x108 (44/50)
Investigate: Together & Apart
Solve Rate: 70%
❌ Bechdel Test: Unless you count Mrs Peacock screaming in the flashback there were no other women who spoke in this episode. C’mon Darin Morgan!
MSR: 🐝🐝🐝🐝
Goriness: 👽👽
Creepiness: 👽
Humor: 👽👽👽👽👽
Rewatch Thoughts:
William check-in: No mention
Break-up check-in: I guess they’re officially dating again!
Scully’s been calling him all day - maybe to confirm that dinner date?
Squatchin! Love that for him. And that Scully’s like sure, do your thing Mulder.
That moment when someone starts telling you a story for the millionth time and all your “oh yeah, I remember”s and “yeah, yeah you told me”s won’t stop that story train.
Scully just wants to go on her dinner date! Her casual date night outfit is cute too
Also Mulder in his piles of tapes perfectly captures that feeling when you know you put the thing you’re looking for away in a perfectly logical safe place and you can’t find it anywhere and you tear your home apart in search of it
Mulder’s head and voice on his little boy body in this flashback cracks me up
Scullz 😂
Scully chilling with her feet up on Mulder’s desk 😍
Scully poking fun at Mulder’s super secret rendezvous signal
Mulder waggling his eyes at Scully about a stakeout date. Scully: Well this is romantic. Mulder: Isn’t it! I think he’s sincere, hanging out with her, investigating X-Files, what could be better!
There are some great vintage posters and things in the background in the memorabilia shop.
It’s not parallel universes!
Mulder: Who is “they”?
The a-cappella theme song! The flashbacks inserting Reggie into scenes from the original run - Unusual Suspects! The Pilot! Tooms! Clyde Bruckman’s Final Repose! Teso Dos Bichos 😂 Home! Small Potatoes - so fun.
Mulder: I’m Fox freaking Mulder, you punks!
Mulder: The world has become too crazy for even my conspiratorial powers. Scully: Maybe you’ve just lost your taste for it, especially after all this “birther” stuff. Seriously, conspiracy theories used to be fun. Now they’re everywhere, with real world consequences, it’s depressing.
The sculpture park is cool looking but I can’t with gobbledygooky-ness of the monologuing - but who knows that’s probably part of the point!
Foxy 🥰
It’s a Darin Morgan episode so Scully is the voice of reason and figures it all out.
The cubicle farm of government agencies montage 😂
Spotnitz Sanatorium
Their final case together, so silly, so good. Especially Mulder flinging himself to the ground in a hissy fit in disappointment over getting All the Answers.
Reggie: But maybe the point wasn’t to find the truth, but to find each other. And no matter where we go in our lives, we will always have the memories of our time together, and no one can take those away or alter them in such a way to make us doubt that they actually happened.
Mulder finally finds his lost episode! I don’t know that I’ve had a real Mandela Effect experience (although I too would have said it was the Berenstein Bears rather the Berenstain Bears) but there is a movie my sister and I loved when we were little that we can’t remember the name of and no one else has ever heard of and it sounds like a fever dream when I try describe the plot 😅
Scully’s little grin of anticipation at her spoonful of Goop-O ABC.
Let’s just leave them here in this nostalgic moment shall we.

"most of Fodlan either needed Rhea or cared about her." While this is 100% true, Hopes would make you believe that SPECIFICALLY LEICESTER, CLAUDE'S TERRITORY, doesn't give too shits about Rhea. Not even anyone from the Eastern Branch of the Church, which was never said to be hostile to the Central Church like the Western one is, cares about Clyde deliberately and explicitly trying to kill Rhea.
Which makes both Clyde's obsession in doing so and the fandom's yippy ki-yay attitude towards him doing so all the more infuriating, because that's DIRECT PROOF that Rhea doesn't need to be killed. But no one in the fandom who likes Clyde will admit that, and everyone in the game who hints towards that being the case is just flatly ignored.
Most Claude fans I see explicitly hate Rhea and want her dead and I just don’t get it. Like... I don’t feel like anything she did was so horrible that she deserves to die. A lot of things that she did were also done out of concern for the last few of her people. Much of it was fear and paranoia, and unfortunately Edelgard is literally her biggest fears actually happening, i.e. a human wanting to kill the dragons simply for being dragons.
When it comes to Claude, I get he doesn’t like her being in power, but I don’t understand why not wanting someone in power has to equal They Must Die. In Hopes, too, he can’t even really give reasons why she supposedly shouldn’t be in power because he doesn’t know anything. Anything he would know in this case is what Edelgard would know, which evidently is not much in Hopes because she doesn’t know in SB that Rhea is the Immaculate One (in the final chapter of SB, she learns it for the first time when you fight Rhea).
In Houses we don’t really know Leicester’s stance on the Church and Rhea that well. Hopes just kind of... threw a bunch of stuff in that we have no real background for. They also make it sound like a super bad thing that most of the people there don’t know what Rhea looks like, but like... duh??? They don’t exactly have cars and planes for Rhea to take trips to Leicester on the regular. She’s at the center of Fodlan, so it’s not like she’s out and about and traveling the continent.
Irl like yeah there are people in power who I think shouldn’t be in power, but I don’t... think they deserve to die because I don’t agree with how they run things? It’s not like every leader is scum of the earth and has to die because you don’t like them. It’s baffling in Hopes how people just go with the idea of killing her because they’ve suddenly decided “down with the Church”. Even if they wanted the dissolution of the church, why does that have to involve killing?
Seeing that kind of thinking in the fandom also feels so weird to me. As in, it’s just very odd to witness it happening in front of me, with people saying how they can’t wait for her to die. There are very few characters that aren’t specifically villains that I’d look at and be like “that one deserves to die for what they’ve done”. When Rhea executed people, it was always when harm was brought to people/an attacked happened, such as the clergy that were executed in Houses. Sometimes yeah I think maybe she jumps to execution a bit fast, but I also understand the people she makes that choice against aren’t exactly innocent people. It’s not like she goes around picking out random people to kill. If they get executed, it’s because the Church found/had some kind of evidence that the person/people in question did something that threatened lives.
As an example of why I think Rhea jumps too fast to execution, when Dimitri is confronted with a man who turned against Lambert and was involved in Duscur, he doesn’t immediately make the decision to kill the man. He has him imprisoned first for his confessed crimes, choosing to think it over before making a decision. Granted, I don’t think Rhea was entirely wrong since she did execute people who knowingly endangered others, so it’s technically not a bad decision, and I think that’s a result of her not wanting to take any chances. More like, there was room for leniency but I don’t think she’s wrong not to have it.
And again, I don’t see why any of that equates to her deserving death. While I understand people don’t think of video games from an irl perspective, to me seeing all these violent reactions to what she does/doesn’t do and wanting her dead simply because they don’t like her in power just doesn’t feel right. Like, it makes me wonder how many of these people would do the same thing if it was a real person.
