Only Time Makes It Human 3
Part 1 | Part 2
A/N: hi and sorry for the long wait, I had to squish my brain real hard to get this chapter out, but I hope you like it, I decided a chapter about growth wasn't enough and y'all gave me an idea for angst so I just splashed it there and we'll delve into it more on the next chapter. 10/10 the idea works well enough for me to bring Levi and reader together even more. So don't call me out on being random. This is raw, un fucking edited, I'll edit later 💗

The problem with your feet being numb in the morning when you woke up wasn't supposed to phase you as much as it currently did, but the weathering cold that had barged its way to your room silently begged to have you feel something other than the everlasting whirlpool of regret.
Which was -unsurpisingly- something you had been spiraling into a lot lately.
Your ringtone -or rather the caller that had caused it to go off- nontheless remained mercilessly unforgiving to your current condition. The brute vibrations that accompanied your once favorite song ripped through the air and bounced on every wall inside your room before it wooshed inside your eardrums.
You fucking finally had to change that ringtone, you thought.
Your feet, moist and heavy as they buzzed with the aftermath of the coma-like sleep you had just gone through, struggled to wiggle from underneath the comfort of your blankets. Your hands instinctively rubbed the underside of your nose as you sniffled all the cold of the room around you. Throwing the blanket off of you, you groaned at the non stop ringing of your phone.
The few steps to your desk felt like an eternity of having to walk with a badgy weight on your feet, but the faint feeling in your body didnt come to an halt even after you picked the device in your hands. Your eyes couldn’t really adjust well to make out the ID of the caller, of course, sleep hadn't rubbed off your eye lids yet, but still you slid the emerald button to acceptance with no resistance.
“Hey” you sleepingly moaned.
“Hellooo! (Y/n)!” Hange called enthusiastically for the other line, her joyous voice piercing your eardrums “Where are you booo?”
“I just woke up why?” you yanwed.
Pacing your eyes around your room you noticed the dull daylight creeping in through your blinds, signaling the gloom of another potentially snowy day for Trost. You blinked as you took notice of the few articles of soon to reside in the laundry bin clothing as well as the dress that hung from your closet door.
And then, it all snapped.
“Oh. shit!”
Anxiety rushed through you like a bullet to the gut, gushing numbness and waves of cold sweat from the point of impact. Forcefully, you ripped your phone off your ear and double tapped at screen to make it light up. The date read December 25, and below it, laid numerous notifications of your alarm and even a pop up reminder from last night to not forget the food you had to take with you.
Thinking back to that, your head started spinning like crazy, the familiar, yet bizarre feeling of your stomach dropping overtaking you. You hadn't cooked, rather, you had spent all night drinking and sulking on your own, cursing yourself for all your choices up to date.
"Yes, oh shit!” Hnge laughed “Oh! You forgot?”
"Hangeeee stop screaming oh my god no I didn't forget, I'm on my way okay?"
A little yelp came out of your mouth as the cable of your charger prevented you from taking another step closer to your bedroom door; letting out a curse under your breath though you quickly unplugged your phone, and rushed over the mess of your room and out to your living room.
"But you said you just woke up."
"Ahhh," you scratched your head, feeling your loose t-shirt sliding down your shoulder "no!" You said, then in a sterner voice you repeated "No! I uhm, I was just-"
Your poor excuse to communicate after having just woken up didn't startled Hange. If anything, she seemed to find it amusing because she burst into joyous, bubbling laughter at the sound of your despair. And you couldn't blame her for it; were you under any other circumstance you would be laughing with yourself as well.
"It's fine. Erwin and I are making a cake for shorty so if you want to cook here you have plenty of time yet. I'm going to say it though, we could really use your pastry skill."
You let out a sigh as you took your phone off your ear and pressed on the speaker icon. Your hands worked fast to grip onto the hem of your shirt and then, even faster, they managed to pull it off of you in shift movements.
"I'm just going to have a shower, dress up and I'll be on my way. It shouldn't take more than 30 minutes."
Hange exhaled in utter relief through the phone and you could practically feel her sheepish smile as Erwin shouted a big fat 'thank you' from the depths of his kitchen. Bringing out a hand to grap your shower cap -the only shower product you loathed using- you ripped the cap off its place on your cabinet and messily shoved all of your hair in it in rushed movements.
"Got any questions before I hit the shower Hange?"
"Please ask her" Erwin was heard and you cocked your head to the side at the sound.
"No Erwiin, we got it under control okay?"
"No we don't."
Shaking your head to prevent yourself from zoning out, you clicked your tongue before opening your mouth to address your two friends. Asking as to what they were referring to was easy, although it was obvious that Hange felt confident in succeeding in the task Erwin was referring to. Knowing Hange though, you thought you could guess perhaps what exactly was going on.
"Please don't mix food coloring with spinach juice to make the cake green like two years ago."
Erwin's laughter was pretty much evident through the other line as Hange went on blubbering about how she wasn't going to do it again giving extreme emphasis as to why she couldn't understand the reason it tasted bad in the first place but would go with what you said nevertheless. At that point Erwin was laughing hysterically, telling you how Hange was once again, indeed, thinking about it and the sound of his laughter grew even louder than Hange's words.
"Do you have food coloring?"
"Yes Hange I have food coloring."
"Plea-pleaee bring some. Dammit Erwin what's gotten into you- gotta go (y/n) see you in a while."
The beeping sound from the other line left you little to no time to properly reply to your friends with a much wanted greeting, though, you didn't think much of it. You were going to spend the whole day with them, so getting upset over not getting the chance to say goodbye over the phone wasn't something that should have caused guilt to spurt in you.
But surely, this wasn't the only cause of your overly bubbling guilt. The actual cause of the knot in your gut laid to the fact that within the time span of two weeks you had managed to to drag Levi and yourself into a rather steep rabbit hole. There was going to be a serious impact of your relationship with your friends had the two of you made it known to them; everyone would scold you -and they'd be right at that- and maybe this time they'd pick sides as to what wrong or not. And you didn't want that.
Although you secretly wished everyone went with Levi. Or at least you had come to the conclusion that that was what you deserved.
You had been feeling bothered and repulsed by what had caused you to make out with him that night, given the fact that you had been the one that initiated the kiss. And just as much, you had been feeling furious over Levi allowing this to ever happen. But looking back at it now, you couldn't say you regretted getting close to him even in such way. And that was probably the most infuriating thing of all.
Nevertheless, there was also the fact that you would be seeing Levi today and frankly you didn't know what to do with that. Should you act like everything was fine? Should you simply ignore him? Was Petra going to be with him?
Speaking of Petra it would be best if you straight up let her know of what had happened. Acting shady with another woman's man behind her back was outrageous for anyone to do and you hated being in that position like the next person.
Your stomach twisted dangerously at your spiraling thoughts, but you chose to ignore the tight knot, attributing the loud growl you had heard to one caused by your excessive hunger.
Perhaps, your shower was going to help you sort out your thoughts and intentions.
With a twist of your wrist the water started sprinting out of the tap in your shower. Your eyes were fixated on your phone, your thumb roaming through Spotify in hopes to find the perfect song to company your bath with. You simply said good for a Christmas playlist that Spotify suggested, tapping on that, a list of numerous jolly songs popped up in your screen and you simply pressed the big shuffle button before putting your head on your cabinet.
..
The walk to Erwin's house was very much and as previously expected, quiet. The sidewalks on your way were all covered in sugary white snow, decorating each different apartment complex in the non urban side of Trost along with the standard holiday decorations.
Taking a deep sigh you brought the back of your finger to the metallic button of Erwin's doorbell. Blinking rationally, you looked around at the marble front door frame of his apartment complex, your blood subtly rushing to your feet. You dragged the tip of your combat boot over the snow, curling your toes on the fuzzy material that covered the inside of the shoe.
You were beginning to become impatient as you waited on the doorframe, Erwin was taking way too long to open the door and you were practically freezing out there; the dress you wore did almost nothing to keep you warm. Despite you taking precautions by wearing a cardigan and the leather coat that you had snatched from your brother, the cold still pierced through your sheer black pantyhose, as if your efforts to stay warm were ridiculous.
The sound of footsteps was what startled you next but still your head didn't turn to the source of the buzzing noise. Your nose simply nuzzled to the scarf you had wrapped around yourself as you rubbed your face onto its warm fleece material.
"Uh, hi."
This time you could help but turn around to check who had thrown a greeting at you.
A familiar puff of ginger hair greeted you as you snuck your nose out of the edge of your scarf, two big and round hazel eyes stared right at you as you blinked rapidly back at them.
Great. Just great.
"Hey."
Petra wiggled her nostrils once to the left and then to the right, seemingly scratching the awkwardness in the atmosphere away. She blinked her eyes a few times into yours, her lips pursing together slightly as if she was coming up with a good comeback to your greeting, yet it never came.
"uhm, what's up?"
Your fingers slightly clutched the edges of your coat, crossing over your chest as you felt your jaw start clattering. Your pupils gathered at the corners of your eyes, catching small glimpses of Petra as you eyed her up and down.
She too had opted for a cardigan and a dress. A very safe choice if you were in a place to express your opinion but hers, despite being adorned with numerous tiny and dainty coral and red flowers, looked so thin and tule like and it barely covered her thighs, so much that you felt a pinch of concern run through you that you were slow to decide on whether you wanted to brush off or not.
"I'm.. good." She managed to let out, but you noticed how her lip trembled.
She was definitely shivering, if that wasn't concerning enough you didn't know what was, and she looked so frail and out of place that she could definitely beat you at it. Plus, the lack of a warm jacket struck somewhat of a nerve at you. Even feeling so much guilt over being in her presence you couldn't help but feel your motherly friend instincts wash over you; why wasn't she wearing something warmer? And why were you seconds away from taking off your jacket to offer it to her when you knew she wouldn't even accept it.
"Damn, Erwin's sure taking long, do you want my jacket?"
"Uh-"
Once again and mostly out of instinct, your finger tapped over the metallic button, covered by the edge of your sleeve. Suddenly, the familiar buzz of the intercom growled in your eardrum and you shook your head to its direction automatically.
"I'm so sorry!" Erwin said. "Come in!"
"Hey Erwin!" Petra spoke before you had a chance to say your wanted reply.
Even if you couldn't see him, you knew how shocked of an expression he was wearing.
Taking the few steps into the apartment complex's yard, you rushed to the next door and waited for the known buzz which signaled that Erwin had finally let you inside. With awkwardness spread over your face though, you pushed your lips into a thing line, holding the door back as you signaled to Petra that she should be the first to come inside.
"Thank you." She muttered.
"No prob."
You watched as Petra hesitated to push the elevator button; with a set of trembling fingers her palm rested only a few inches before the metallic button that was lit in a red arrow. With another smile you came closer to her and went to check in which floor the elevator was currently at. Whether she flinched intentionally or not, you didn't know.
"Wanna share a lift? It'll be a while till it comes down again." You offered.
"Uhm, yeah okay."
Once she responded, Petra tapped onto the elevator button with her thumb.
Petra looked at you and clung onto the edged of her cardigan once again. You took notice of how she looked a little more casual and unkept, despite being dressed on point; the lack of a jacket and her tousled naturally wavy bob betrayed an unwillingness to be present to today's event and it's was painfully obvious.
"I'd like to" Petra hesitated, "I'd like to talk to you about something."
"Oh sure, what is it about?"
"It's about Levi."
Dead silence fell as Petra didn't dare turn her gaze to your direction. The little screen over the elevator button still showed that your lift was taking long to come down as if it mocked you, but you couldn't find it in you to tap into the button once again.
"Would you like to grab some coffee with me tomorrow?"
Tomorrow.
Tomorrow.
Tomorrow.
To say that you were panicked would be an exaggeration and probably a degradation to Petra's feelings. Her breathing was heavier than your own, frankly because for her it must have been even more uncomfortable than it was for you. You couldn't blame her for that.
Nonetheless you couldn't help but be genuinely curious as to what she had wanted to tell you? It was evident that she knew something. What's slipped you was whether or not she want to bash you for your actions.
She had every right to do so.
"Yeah. Of course, uhh, tomorrow sounds good."
....
Christmas day wasn't as bad as you had expected it to be when Hange had announced to you that Levi would be coming alone with Petra.
For starters, the food was in plehtora; Erwin had cooked your jolly favorite roasted chicken, Mike and Nanaba had brought an enormous plate of their creamiest, most mouth watering souffle, Levi had made some god tasty pumpkin soup and Hange had taken actually good care of fixing a custom non alcoholic cocktail to each one of you.
All of this drool worthy deliciousness had caused, and non surprisingly at that, your body to submit in that peaceful demi slumber that tagged along with the fullness of your tummy. Frankly, it had been so long since you had enjoyed such a good meal and you didn't think you would be enjoying another one until Mikasa's birthday.
Thus, the cool evening sir that entered the room when Erwin opened the window door to the balcony, found you laying on the floor right next to the tangerine fire that danced in the fireplace. You could faintly feel Nanaba's hand scratch at the roots of your hair, her almond tipped nails slowly running in purringly mellow lines over your sculp that sent you to pure delight.
Levi's eyes danced over your form more than he'd like to admit so. Ever so slightly his pupils would travel up and down your thighs and calfs, examining the material of your sheer back pantyhose but whatever emotion overcame him wasn't the animalistic lust he had expected to feel.
He felt rather guilty. And not only for staring at your legs. For bringing himself upon the situation he was in.
It wasn't easy to think with a throbbing head but in Levi's world this poor condition was translated as a prompt to try to get out of whatever shithole he had found himself in. Maybe. Because there was also a certain part inside of him that bashed him to no end about his previous and degrading actions to both Petra's and his person, which part he completely and rationally justified.
With a quick glance at Petra, Levi brought his hand to his face to hopefully wipe any of the numbness his guilt had got him feeling. Petra seemed to enjoy herself as per usual. With her soft smiles and the mellow sway of her hair over her shoulder, she'd often reach for the hem of her white wooly cardigan to cover her shoulder while cooing into the soft material and onto the side of the couch she was seating in.
It would be hard for anyone to guess that the two of them had broken up.
She was unsurprisingly sitting as far off him as she could; the fact that they hadn't announced to anyone they had broken up because they didn't want the Christmas party at Erwin's to be ruined didn't mean she owned Levi to act like his faithful and bubbly dog.
It happened that night after he had stood her up at the movies.
Levi had gathered all of his determination and had managed to push all thoughts aside from the back of his brain, as he was despairate to ignore that feeling your make out session had brushed on him. He had walked up to Petra, all dissolved and stoic, his chest swelling with anxiety. He had stared at her with an agape mouth, he had been muttering words so honest that he felt were fatally brute and Petra had digested them all without any difficulty.
And before he knew it, he was over and done.
Petra hadn't cried, she hadn't wept, she had only answered him with a smile that she'd rather just be friends with him if things weren't going to work between them.
And to an extended it tortured the ravenette, mostly because he remembered the hurt look in her face before she had managed to hide it with her usual mellow smile.
Taking another sigh, Levi stared at Petra's hand while she played silently with the lettuce hem of her dress. Her hazel orbs were fixed on you, who laid before the fireplace like a stray cat on the tire of car during a snowy day. Levi couldnt exactly place the exact emotion behind Petra's expression, though it would be perceived by most as a saddened one. There were specs of regret gathering at the corners of her eyes, reluctance gathered at her slightly puckered lips and a hint of determination to the front tips of her eyebrows.
Maybe Petra's inner strength was something that Levi deeply admired.
Levi made no effort whatsoever to reach out to her to ask what was going on, not even to show some seemingly convern. The more he looked at Petra, the more it felt utterly wrong for him to simply stand next to her, knowing what he had do behind her back. Whether he loved her or not, it wasn't like him to be caught up in such stupid drama.
"Shorty!"
Levi looked up to an enthusiastic Hange with much tousled hair and a big grin on her face that spread from one ear to another. With another, more thorough glance, he quickly became aware of the cake in her hands; a cake covered in white frosting, decorated with soft pastel green letters that wrote a simple birthday wish to his person. He couldn't help but let out a sigh.
"For you!" Hange smiled further "Erwiiin, come light up the candles!"
Looking around the room he noticed how all of his friends' gazes were on him. Mike and Nanaba remained cuddled on the couch opposite to the one he was on, Petra was mellowy smiling at his eith her cherry lips pressed into a thin line and you were fiddling with what seating arrangement was most comfortable for you at the moment.
"We're celebrating another year where you went up in age and down in height, how delightful." Mike commented, causing laughter to spark between the small group of people around you.
After the spur of happiness died out your eyes met with Levi's, briefly and then they traveled anywhere else in the room altogether.
"Let's light up the candles!" Smiled Erwin as he flicked the small metallic button of his lighter.
"I don't want too many, shit. The last time you took my lungs out."
"Not our fault that you're old Levi!" You spoke, earning a half smile by the ravenette.
"Very old!" Hange agreed.
"Tch, I'm only turning twenty six shut your shitty mouths!"
The warm light of the fire licked each waxed strip of wick that hung from the candles, illuminating Hange's face in warm orange light. Once done with lighting up the candles, Erwin plopped himself in between Levi and Petra, crossing his hands over his knees as he shifted his bottom in the most uncomfortable seating on a couch you had ever witnessed.
You merely caught a glimpse of Hange kneeling before Levi as you dragged your gaze over to Petra, fixating it on her for the thousandth time this evening.
There only was one thing in your head that bounced between the crevices of your brain like crazy. Just one simple words that held so much behind it.
Tomorrow.
Tomorrow you were going to apologize to Petra and try to make amends. Being the despicable toxic person you had turned into didn't suit you. Owing up to your mistakes was the first step to redemption and you weren't afraid to take it.
As you fell into a spiral of thoughts and guesses about tomorrow though, you couldn't help but subtly ignore the cheerful sing alone to Levi's birthday song.
.....
"Thank you for coming!"
Petra's hair was messily swaying all over her face, falling a direct victim to the frozen December air, yet she smiled as if nothing was going on.
The park around you was covered in snow. White was primarily the color that was plastered on everything, save for the dry stems of trees that were once covered in forest green leaves.
Your peeping hot coffee did nothing to warm up your hands, despite your best wishes and in the moment you had called victim to some specs of jealousy over Petra's gloved hands as they rubbed soothing over her own coffee.
"Of course, I had been meaning to talk to you as well."
"Oh you did?" Petra spoke with her eyebrows following the little surprise that was masking her tone. "To be honest, I didn't think you'd come."
"Yeah about that-"
"Can I please go first?" Petra cut you off.
Her huge hazel eyes that blinked into yours from your left side left you little to no space to deny her wish. Thus, by taking a sigh, you pushed past the quick beating of your heart and gestured her to go first with a kind smile on your face.
"Okay oof, thanks!" Petra huffed "look. Levi and I broke up. Now I know that you'll say it doesn't concern you, and frankly it'd be ideal if it didn't, but I know it does, because Levi explained to me what happened."
At that Petra slightly paused.
Naturallye first thing that came to your mind was the need to express an apology. Although, you weren't that sure if Petra would perceive the apology as sincere, you felt like you ought to give one to her. Yet her eyes blinked into yours further as she took another turn down the path you were walking on and you wordlessly followed asuit.
"I love Levi you know," she sighed "but Levi loves you. You're not over each other and it's painfully obvious, I mean you did just collided to eachother quite literally, not giving a single care about whether you couldn't have each other or not."
A sheer red colored tint painted your cheeks at her words.
Your skin pricked you, burning up a stingingly painful path to all of the pores on your face as shame took the form of an earth shattering wave. Your heart started heaping beats, hollering into the depths of your chest and you could hear it bounce inside your eardrums as if your whole body was hollow save for the jolting organ and the echo of the sound it made was bouncing around each fleshy wall.
Petra was right and you couldn't help but accept but stand the as she was lightning you with her words.
"It hurts to see that someone that I love doesn't love me back but it hurts more to see that you two are very miserable without eachother. I really thought you were a bitch you know."
At the sound of that, you let out a startled laugh.
"Me?"
"Yeah, you just gave us looks when we'd shoe up together somewhere or you'd simply leave, but I don't like turning my back on people and judging them like that. I'm in no place to judge anyone a coping mechanism."
Petra sighed. Her fingers curled strongly onto her cup, while her left palm went to support the cup by the bottom as she angled it on her lips. She made a tiny gulping noise as she drank a sip from her latte, her nose crinkling up as the hot beverage brushed over her sensitive tongue. In turn, you sipped similarly, mimicking Petra just hoping it would serve as a sign for her to go on with her speech.
"I might be hurt, but I vouch to help you and Levi resolve what's going on and get back together."
"You do?"
"Mhm"
"Petra I, I don't know what to say you- you're a literal angel." You admit and the guilt in your stomach only growled in its awakening.
You and Levi had hurt a wonderful person. Petra didn't need to be nice to you, she didn't need to offer to help you with anything but once you made yourself step inside her shoes you were able to see why she had perceived you the way that she initially had.
"I'm sorry."
Your voice was silent and stripped of any emotion other than shame yet Petra was beaming at you in response.
Her warm smile was elegant and comforting as she stared at you, taking another gulp of her drink with a soft giggle. Your eyes were locked with hers, saddened (e/c) irises staring into her hazel ones, as she smiled even more little by little.
It was strange.
There was a different kind of bubbling inside your chest and you knew because your heart wasn't hammering anymore, not was your stomach trying to be ripped apart in tiny pieces after it vored into your other intestines. You felt serene, at peace even.
It clicked to you that this is what must feel to be forgiven.
"It's fine, plus you guys kinda deserve each other." Petra laughed at your chocked inhale, pressing a comforting, gloved palm to your shoulder. "I'd rather find my happiness when I'm not in between two people that struggle to find theirs."
Petra nuzzled to the comfort of her jacket, giving you a scrunched up bunny smile. You knew it's not that she hoped you could be best friends after this. She simply wanted to make sure that she could do her best to help two people find happiness. And it wasn't all that bad, you figured. You didn't know what you would do were you in her place.
In a way, you admired Petra for being so strong.
"Besides, girls shouldn't bring down other girls."
"Yeah, and I'm sorry about what I did behind your back. I own up to my mistake. I can't take it back but I can promise that I won't become this toxic ever again."
You shot an apologetic side smile at her as you followed her tracks.
Taking a new look in your surroundings, you deeply inhaled the cold air, filling your lungs in shivering winter freshness. A few specs of snow were adorning Petra's hair as the fell from the sky in a dainty manner, licking the stray threads that popped from her wooly gloves.
There definitely was a commotion a few blocks away. You could hear sirens go off not so far from your spot but you chose to ignore them, it was typical for a city person to filter out unnecessary noise, and having to live in Trost added tons to what you had to filter or not.
"It's December twenty six and the two is back to being a Mayhem." Petra sighed.
"It's like we're Gotham or some shit."
"Gotham?" Petra blinked at you, earning a gasp from you.
"Step one to being the friend of someone who's majoring in comics-"
"Oh, friends yay!"
Shaking your head, to ignore the child like enthusiasm, you continued, "Please know the most well known fictional city, it's Batman's city too."
"OH!" Petra's mouth fell agape as she took in the information, but she quickly giggled again as she saw that you easily took a gulp of your beverage "you're right."
For what seemed like a second you felt at peace once again. Petra bubbled about how she wanted to apologise to Levi about her rather cold behavior last night, and explained in the most non detailed way how it was the memory of the passing of her mother that had caused her to become this grumpy.
"Don't worry Petra! But beware, you could be turning into Levi version two point oh and-"
A loud sound startled you, sending both you and Petra back a few steps. Dumbfounded, you stared at each other and around you, locking eyes with different by passers that were just as shocked as you.
"Maybe we should go back!" Petra suggested. You simply nodded, hearing a good amount of running footsteps coming to the direction of the block you were in. In any way, getting caught up with a manhunt wasn't in your plans for today
"Yeah maybe we shou-"
Your words were cut off absurdly, harshly and shockingly all together. As gunmetal orbs locked with yours, your eyelids shot open, hour mouth dropping to the snow covered concrete.
"Levi?"
Wait, Levi? That was actually so random
Before you could manage to process what was going on around you, or why on earth Levi had just popped up from the alley right across you another head splitting sound filled the air.
Levi -yes, this was indeed Levi, you just didn't really know how to process this- collapsed on his knees like a rag doll, his torso and head giving in to the exhaustion of his body. Once he fell, you stood frozen, shieldimg Petra with one hand as the two of you watched in horror while crimson started littering the sugary snow.
"Call an ambulance." You spoke dryly, eyes still wide with horror.
The people who had seemed to be after Levi quickly fell onto the hands of the hands of a handful of police men who were on their tracks, but you couldn't care to look at their faces. You just run towards Levi, always followed by a petrified Petra, your feet giving in as you kneeled right next to him, your fingers gingery ghosting over him just to inspect what was his condition.
You listened as Petra spoke with the emergency center in horror, explaining what was the scene before her eyes while struggling to keep herself from trembling.
"What's going on?" Shy muttered once she detached the phone off her ear.
"I'm pretty sure now is not the right time for a story, but Levi used to be in a street gang in his teens."
"Oh boy."
Oh boy indeed.
Here's your gentle reminder that constructive criticism makes me cry because I'm a baby

master list to all my fics :) here
Tumblr media
3 days.
It had been 3 days since the two of you were kiss-blocked by the present and former #1 heroes. And here you were, chilling in your apartment. Wrapped like a burrito in your bed. You couldn’t remember the last time you had done this. The weather was just too perfect to resist the burrito-ness.
Today was a miracle. A day off with zero notifications in the last 7 hours. Sure, it was past 12 noon and that you should prepare lunch, there was just this irrational fear that once you step out, some villain attack would happen again.
Nope. No. You would rather stay in your home and starve. Or maybe just order take out. Unburrito-ing yourself, you rolled over to your nightstand and took your phone. You felt your cheeks blush at the sight of your new wallpaper.
You and Hawks hugging. His cheek squished as he leaned his head on yours. Framing the picture were his wings. Uneven but still gorgeous nonetheless. You had to hand it to the man, despite him looking goofy, he was still sexy. Your mind couldn’t help but think, how in the world did you manage to lure him?
Clicking on the FoodBear app, you scrolled past restaurants and fast food chains. What were you in the mood for? Pizza and a burger. Yes. Perfect.
Sitting up, you began to choose the flavor and type of burger till the home screen changed.
The picture of Hawks replacing it. Your heart raced at the thought of him calling you.
“Hey baby bird!” Hawks greeted over the phone. It was a tad noisy so you were sure he was calling and flying.
“Pidgy, don’t fly and call at the same time.” You teased him but the tone in your voice gave it away. It was difficult to suppress your happiness when it came to this birdman. “What can I do to help you?”
“The question is, how can I help you? You eaten lunch yet, babe?”
‘Oh lord that babe hit different’ You fangirled internally. Fanning yourself with your free hand in hopes to cool off the heat on your face.
“Not yet. You bringing some food over?”
“Yeah.” You swore he was smirking on the other line. “Me.”
“Hawks, I swear to god if you don’t bring me a slice of pizza and a burger I will eat y-” Shutting your mouth, you almost fell into his trap. Not that you’d mind. Real food was simply top priority for now.
“Now wouldn’t that be the perfect reason not to but take out?” He laughed. For you, it was such music to your ears. Your heart swelled knowing you made him happy. “Get dressed lovebird. I’m takin’ you out on a date.”
“Oh.” Your eyes fell on your messy wardrobe. Shit. “How long till you arrive?”
“I’m already outside. How convenient you have a balcony, am I right?” He ended the call.
“Hawks?” You yelled out from your room.
“Right here baby!” He responded. God damn, he really was here. “Take your time unless you want me to help you change!”
Face palming yourself, the thought of him laying on your bed, pinning you down, wasn’t that bad. But still, the two of you hadn’t even kissed yet so might as well go on a date with him.
Standing up, you went out of your room only to be met by Hawks lounging on your sofa. Wings slightly open to make him rest his back. His hair was even messier from behind but still looked as soft as ever.
“Let me just shower and we can take our leave, okay?”
Turning to face you, he smirked at the sight before him. You, in an oversized shirt that hung just above your thighs. Your black shorts showing enough leg to tease him right.
“I envy the me in your shirt.” He pointed out while extending an arm to tug on your shirt.
Your eyes widened when you remembered this was the Hawks merch Ryukyu got you for the jokes. After that day, it had been your favorite. Not just for the person on the shirt but because the size was amazing and the material was breezy.
“Maybe if you play your cards right, this could end up being you.” You teased back. Booping his nose causing his golden eyes to expand. The hold on your shirt seemingly tightened.
“Damn. You flirty when you got no food in your system, chickadee~” Hawks commented as he lifted himself off the couch and landed right in front of you. His eyes exploring your face, lingering on your lips, but going back to your eyes. His hands now nested on your waist.
‘Okay. Think this through. If y'all were to do the devil’s tango now, that would mean your body would look bomb because you haven’t eaten anything. But, I’m so fucking hungry. Like is this worth the messy sheets? Hell yeah it is But pizza sounds so good right now...!’ You monologue in your mind.
Placing your palms on his stomach, you could feel his toned abs and how he flexed just to ensure victory. Sliding them upwards, you fet the bumps of his bodysuit’s yellow linings. Your eyes never leaving his.
Hawks gritted his teeth. The next thing he knew, he picked you up and carried you all the way to your kitchen counter. He wished he had taken his gloves off so he could feel just how soft your skin was. With your legs hugging his waist, this was all too perfect.
“You sure it’s pizza and burgers you want?” He leaned in closer. Using the tip of his nose, he began to trail your cheek and his lips hovered above yours. Pulling himself away from you, your throat ran dry when he used his mouth to remove his gloves.Tossing them to the couch, he used his thumb to trace your lower lip.
“Maybe if you push a little more,” Your arms now snaked around his neck. Bringing him closer to you. “Perhaps my appetite may change.”
Leaning his forehead on yours, his half hooded eyes remained glued to yours. His breathing was slow and heavy as he pulled you in closer. Giving him the invitation, you wrapped your legs even tighter. Licking his lips, his smirk was the last thing you saw before the two of you closed your eyes.
And then your stomach grumbled.
‘Motherfucker…’
‘Rotten Nuggets…’
The two of you stopped right when your lower and upper lips brushed against each other. Warm breaths grazing your skins.
“Are you for real?...” Hawks complained but his voice was amused. He placed both palms on your cheeks and squished them. “You ruined the moment babe!”
He began to stomp his foot like a small child. Your legs moving along his rather cute tantrum. His feathers began to ruffle as well. Pulling you into a hug, he nuzzled on the side of your head. A disappointed sigh coming out of his mouth.
“I’m sorry. I’ll take full responsibility for that, nugget.” You hugged him back. Only making him squirm more and whine.
“That would’ve been the perfect first kiss for the both of us~” He said as he pulled himself away to look at your flushed face. “But, it’s alright. Now go and take a bath before I make my feathers rip your clothes apart…”
Following his orders, you released him from your hold and went back to your room. Pissed and embarrassed at how your stomach chose to betray you.
Moments passed and you were now dressed. Closing the door to your room, you saw Hawks rummaging through your fridge. His wings were full once more. It gave you relief knowing he could fully perform his duties once more. Not that there was a need to worry, he was the number 2 so he’s surely more capable of more.
“Your fridge needs more chicken.” He commented. Pivoting to face you. In his mouth, a juice pack. “Ready?”
“Yeah.” You replied. Waving your matching headphones and visors he had given you a few months back.
Throwing the empty pack, he took your hand and led you to your balcony. The weather had improved and the dark gray clouds from earlier were replaced by clear blue skies and the afternoon sun.
How do you want it? Bridal style? Or my signature bear hug?” He asked as he put on his gloves. His brows furrowed at the memory of a failed first kiss.
“I think bridal would be nice.”
Taking the headphones from you, he placed them on your head and paused to admire his handiwork. The way the sun cast light on your (e/c) made his heart flutter. Cupping your cheek, he smirked when they began to show a taint of redness.
“So beautiful…”
Placing an arm on your back and bending slightly to place the other one on the bend of your knees, he was all too happy when you rested your arms on his shoulders. Stretching his wings out, he adored the way your eyes sparkled.
Letting a stray feather loose, Hawks made the feather brush against your lip and made it land on his.
“Ah. An indirect kiss!” He teased. Flapping his wings making you both float. “Can’t wait for the real deal after lunch~”
“Keigo!” You playfully punched his chest. Your arms tighten as he flew the both of you farther and farther from your unit.
“Don’t call me that unless we’re in your bed or mine, baby!” He managed to wink as he pulled you in closer.
Choosing not to reply, the rest of the ride was nothing but comfortable silence. It only lasted for a few minutes till he landed and placed you back on your feet. Your eyes opened up and your jaw dropped when you saw where he had taken you.
“And don’t worry about distractions, chickadee.” Hawks said with his arms making a circle. “I booked the place all to ourselves.”
“The whole planetarium?!”
“Yes.” Lacing his fingers with yours, he led the way and opened the door for you.
Before entering the main room, he took you to the snack bar and ordered what you had been craving for. A slice of pizza, a burger, chicken wings, a medium soda for the two of you, and a pack of mints. Ushering you to the tables, he placed the food down and pulled the chair for you to sit.
“Gotta let that stomach of yours eat before we see the main event.” He said as he attacked the wings.
“You’re never going to let that go, are you?”
“Never.”
Small talk happened as the two of you ate. The moment the last bite happened, he handed you a mint as he took one as well. You couldn’t help but snort at how prepared he wanted to be. Though, you would be lying if you weren’t thinking of going to the women’s toilet to freshen up.
The doors were now facing the two of you. His hands finding yours once more. Opening the doors, your eyes wandered across the dome and the projector located in the middle. The room was already dim and your heart raced with excitement at the thought of staring at the stars up close.
Choosing the back half of the theater, the two of you made your way to the middle seats. Once you two were comfy, he clapped his hands and the room was now pitch black. The theater dome began to show the projectors image. Putting your arm around his, you couldn’t help but smile at Hawks for bringing you here. Wearing your goggles, you leaned on his shoulder and watched the show.
As the show came to the middle part, you were fascinated with the vibrant colors of the different galaxies, Hawks kept his eyes on you. Taking his goggles, he tossed them to the empty seat and took a deep breath.
“(Y/N)?”
Tearing your eyes from the view, you were now face to face with something much better. Letting Hawks take your goggles off, he shifted his position so he could fully face you. Imitating his actions, you felt a small push on your back. No need to look knowing that was his wing.
“You like our date?” He whispered. Leaning a little closer.
“It’s perfect~” You leaned in closer as well.
Cupping your cheek, he let his thumb brush your skin gently. His eyes widened and his wings perked up. Wondering what that was about, he let his feathers do some work. Letting go of your cheek, he took his phone out and placed it on a feather. Understanding his motive, you put yours on silent mode and placed it on the feather next to you.
The two of you watched as the feathers placed them on the seats right across the room. The slightly larger feathers made their way towards the door. Making sure that no one would be able to enter the room.
“You’ve prepared for the worst?” You teased him.
“Just making sure, nugget.” Placing his hand on the back of your neck, he gently pulled you in closer and rested his forehead on yours. “After all the distractions, I think necessary preparations are needed.”
“I would have to agree on that~” You giggled. Holding onto his wrist.
“May I?” He asked. By now, his hot minty breath touching your lip. When you nodded your answer, Hawks did not hesitate.
The two of you winced in pain when his nose hit yours. This time, there was no frustration or childish tantrums. Instead the two of you laughed it off. Cheeks red with embarrassment and stomachs doing summersaults.
“I’ll take the blame for that~” He commented. Not letting you go of his hold.
“Just shut up and kiss me, Keigo~” With that, he redeemed himself.
Finally. You felt his lips on yours. His lips were soft and the kiss was enough to melt you away. It felt as if a summer breeze had passed your soul and gave you a sense of warmth and happiness at the same time. When he titled his head to make the kiss even deeper, you felt all the butterflies in your stomach flutter. You couldn’t help but smile as you both locked lips. Not wanting to part with each other.
When Hawks felt your lips curl into a smile, he pulled you in as close as he could. The taste of mint still present and your strawberry chapstick from before still there. Wanting to intensify the kiss, he licked your bottom lip.
Gladly, you gave him entry. In the few times he’s kissed, he always wanted to have dominance but for you, he was more than willing to toss it aside. Both your tongues danced in unison, exploring each wet caverns slowly and sensually. He was grateful, and of course even more turned on, when you let out a soft moan.
The need for air finally rose. Both of you broke apart, panting. Still living in the moment, both of your eyes were shut. Grins plastered on your face at the sensation of finally being able to kiss each other.
“Well,” His voice was raspy and he was still panting. “I think the wait was worth it.”
“I couldn’t agree more~”
“So shall I make you scream my name now?” His smirk was back. The cheeky cocky pro hero you fell for.
“Keigo!”
“That’s it baby!”
The rest of the show, the two of you relaxed and enjoyed each other’s warmth. When the show was finished, the two of you checked your phones for any messages. His shoulders slumped when he saw he had a missed call from Endeavor. Followed by 7 messages.
“Looks like I’ll have to take you home lovebird~”
Moments passed and the two of you were now back on your balcony. Hawks perched on the railing while you wrapped your arms around his waist.
“I’ll be back, don’t worry.” He reassured you while petting your head.
“I know.” You lifted your head and faced him once more. The sun was now setting and his wings even more glorious with the pinks and oranges in the sky. His golden eyes staring on to you with a silent message of not wanting to leave you alone. “Be safe, Keigo.”
“I will.”
Letting him go, he leaned backwards and free fell. A second later, he was now flying in front of you. Moving in closer, he planted a short but deep kiss on your lips.
“Love you, chickadee.”
“Love you too, nugget~”
With a wink, he flapped his wings and soared into the sky. Leaving behind a feather for you to hold on to. You shook your head with amusement. This would only mean one thing.
He would most definitely be coming back and staying the night.

Word Count: Roughly 2,700
“Hi, there,” The woman giggled into the mic as Jensen played up the flirty eyebrow bounce and cheesy smile that would be cast over Tumblr within twenty four hours.
He was finished after that final panel, for the trip. Nothing sounded better than a hot shower and catching some sleep. His mind was still reeling from the news he'd been given that morning, but he couldn't focus on that. So, he buried himself behind that charming persona he'd created.
“Dude, leave her alone...she wants me,” Jared smoothed his thick, long, chestnut locks in a way that caused thirsty cries from all around. He cackled as his friend mock frowned his way; unimpressed at the turn of attention. Earning the familiar high pitched laugh from the crowd in front of them.
It was easy to play into their hands. To take the nerves that came with being shy and put it towards acting like a dork with his best friend. He appreciated the disguise more than he'd ever say. Letting it mask the worry and fear he could feel churning inside of him when it was too quiet for long.
“Actually, my question is for Jensen-”
“Ha!” The mentioned man in question leaned forward at the barked utterance, pretending to gloat. Smugly bouncing his brows at Padalecki.
With a deep, regretful sigh, the taller of the two settled back in his chair; wrapping his arms around the back of it as he sat in reverse, “Okay, I guess.” The over dramatically stated words were coupled with a theatrical sulk that drew forth more giggles.
“I was wondering if Y/N and the kids are enjoying the trip to San Diego,” It was no secret that his family had been flocked around him. Until now, that is. The way he paused at that had every eye present turning towards him.
“Uh, actually...” He forced his lips to stay upright. “They're back home, right now.” Concerned 'awes' filled the air. “No, no. It's okay. They're living it up.” Jared turned his gaze back to the man he'd been brothers with for almost two decades. Not buying into the idea that he was really alright with it. “Last time I checked, they were having some kinda dance party. Again.” The way he clenched his teeth relaxed the fans a bit. An over emphasized grimace always seemed to break the mood. “It was wild. There was pink everywhere and a herd of little girls shouting to music.”
“Odette was leading the charge on the one I got,” The taller man joined in, having received his own recording. “Kicked Zeppelin over to my place for an old fashioned dinosaur night with the boys.” More awes filled the air.
“Y/N sent you something? I thought you two still weren't talking after you tried to drown her?” His brow crooked, finding something he could latch onto. Knowing that his friend had delivered that ammo on purpose. He really did love the moose.
“I can explain!” Jared held up his hand towards the 'ooohs,' and then stopped. “No... no, I can't.” His head dipped in false shame, earning another set of rambunctious chuckles.
“I can.” Jensen easily took over. Turning to better face the crowd now that he'd successfully maneuvered around the original question. “This guy tortures my nanny. She's like the female version of Misha to Jared. It's endless.” The mentioned man's lips screwed up as he nodded proudly, accepting the label that was thrown onto you. “So, we were at a cookout over at his place. I'm flipping burgers and relaxing with a beer. You know...like a normal person.” His words only made his friend shrug. Zero shame in sight. “Next thing I know? She's screeching as he full on tosses her into the pool.”
“She called me old!” The roar that followed was deafening. “See? They get it!” He beamed at the response only serving to make Jensen over-exaggerate the roll of his green eyes. “And, it worked. What did she say after?”
“You're a child.” The admission was straightforward.
“Meaning that I'm young, and that she was wrong.” A round of applause made him get to his feet, and bow as the widower shook his head in mock shame. Cracking his own grin.
The mic was lifted back to Jensen's lips, “Dude...you started a war because she told the truth?” He knew what had been said, but the crowd was eating it up. Keeping him safe for a little while longer.
“That hurts...” A pat to the heart was thrown in. “That hurts me right there.”
“The kids all joined in. It was chaos.” Ackles explained the previous comment to the women, with a few men scattered here and there. “My kids and Y/N versus his herd and him. We needed an ark to get to the tables. They soaked everything.” His hand panned across the people in front of him, emphasizing how far the damage had spread. “Everything. Gen thought they were going to kill each other.” Jared cackled. Remembering the look on his wife's face. “Y'all know how we had to stop pranking each other, right? 'Cause it was so deadly? That's what they should be doing. Instead, she's become this...epic battle partner. I'm thinking they'll start the next apocalypse before this is over.” A proud nod confirmed it. Jared wouldn't give in until the world ended. Or, he had to go back to work. Whichever happened first.
“Do you prank Y/N?” Someone shouted, catching his attention.
“Do I... Do I prank her? Are you kidding? Do I look stupid?” More laughs filled the air as he shuddered something fierce. “Misha? Absolutely. He doesn't fight back.” His fingers tacked off each point. “He doesn't live in my house. Doesn't hang out with my kids. I like not having to worry about her sicking my spawn on me in retaliation. They'd do it in a heart beat, too.” And most importantly, it kept the professional barriers somewhat in place. “Yeah, no, Y/N and I don't....we're not...” Weren't anything other than co-parents, employer and employee, and almost friends in an odd sort of way. How's that for complicated?
“As fun as I am,” Jared finished, saving him, again. Hoping that the fans wouldn't take that last statement as he had started to. He covered his own look of interest before diving back into the panel. “Now, that we went way off topic....who's next?”
“How did the 'mom' thing even start?” You asked in confusion, scrolling through your Instagram notifications. Your feet thrown over the back of the couch as you sprawled. Making yourself quite at home in the Ackles house. The selfie you'd posted while cleaning the damage the girls had caused was packed.
Not that you weren't used to it by that stage. The moment Danneel had tagged you in a post, it had been over. You'd been stalked and fawned over by some. When she passed? You'd been flocked for updates about the Ackles family.
It had taken a year for you to gather the courage to begin posting again. Once you did? The fandom clung to you for offering small pieces of what life was like inside the Ackles' household. Needing to have that sense of closeness to the supernatural family, still, even with a member gone.
The simple image of you with Oscar resting his head on your lap as you sorted the makeup away had garnered the usual 'queen', 'mom', and 'I love yous' mixed with the occasional trash talker. Once Jensen had commented saying he wanted his dog back when he got home? It had grown worse. When you told him that he'd have to fight you for the golden doodle? The post had blown up. The fans demanding to know if you and him had something going on.
Apparently his panel had only cemented the idea, somehow. You hadn't watched it. Leaving you to only wonder what he'd said to garner that response. Sure it had simply been taken out of context.
You scrolled on, determined to find some answers. A few flicks of your fingers and fate intervened. The phone slipped to your face. Making you wince all the while. As if life had directly told you that social media was bad for your health.
With a sigh, you tossed your phone to the couch. Trying to not let the extreme Danneel and Jensen fans get under your skin. Too many 'you'll never be her' comments filled your mind. More than enough 'stop trying to take her place' had you questioning where you stood. You were doing everything you could to get what was needed done while not dancing on your deceased friend's toes.
Did the world really not understand? Were you really any better off than they suggested? The small crush said you weren't.
“No idea,” Genevieve stated seriously, walking towards the grey couch you were occupying with a pile of healthy snacks loaded up. Pulling you from the internal struggle. She'd been extra conscious of what she was putting into her body since she'd discovered the newest pregnancy. “I just kinda...roll with it.”
She and the kiddos were bunking with you. Tag teaming was so much simpler when the baby exhaustion hit. And it gave the both of you some grownup time together when the men were away.
“It's so strange,” You picked up one of the grapes with your fingers before plopping it in your mouth. Giving up on trying to understand the fact that you'd become an icon of sorts- and the ramifications- for simply nannying some, albeit great, kids.
At your friend's next words, you choked, “So...what's the deal with you and Jensen?”
“It's the same as its always been,” Came the broken words as you got back a hold of yourself. Brushing it off. “Why?”
“Just curious,” That wasn't it. The cool, actress's poker face she wore said as much. But, you were too sensitive to call her out on it, just then. Luckily, she changed gears. “I can't believe that this is it...The last season is being filmed this year.”
The CW had finally pulled the plug on the Winchesters once it had hit adulthood. The boys had found out in a meeting that morning. They'd known it was coming. Had even agreed to it. And yet? Hearing the finality of it? Was another nail in the coffin.
“Eighteen seasons...It's crazy.” Your hand ran through your hair as you looked at the old episode on screen. Sister Jo stood off against Michael!Dean. The tension in the scene was palpable. It didn't hurt to watch it, anymore. Instead, you focused on the fact that she'd been doing what she loved with the man she'd been head over heels for. “How's Jared holding up?”
“He's zeroed in on the kids. Telling himself that it's going to be good for us in the end.” Her hand rubbed over her still flat stomach. “But, he's definitely feeling it. He's been Sam for so long... Saying goodbye is hard.”
“That it is,” You agreed, frowning at the screen. Wondering how Jensen was taking the day.
He hadn't said a thing to you when he'd checked in. Simply had asked for an update on the household before he crashed. Dean had become his crutch. Without the Winchester in his life, you weren't quite sure what he'd do with himself.
Ackles had a passion for directing and acting. There was no doubt about it. But, Supernatural had become everything when his life had turned upside down. It had given him the consistency he'd needed to get through. And while things had been okay for a time? It would be just another major thing he was losing.
Your socked foot rubbed over the soft fur of Icarus. The cockapoo was up there in age. He'd been diagnosed with congestive heart failure at sixteen years old. The white, fifteen pounds of floof didn't let it deter him, though. A couple of pills a day kept him comfortable and loved for as long as he could be. But, it had gotten under Jensen's skin, too.
It made your stomach churn to think about how fast the negative could pile up on already weakened shoulders. And yet, he wanted you to step back. Having time away from him had cleared your head. Allowed you to see his side of things. Maybe it was time to give him some room to breathe. To let him process everything on his own. After all, you were just the nanny...
“Dad!” Three voices shouted in unison when the door opened. Ditching their place at the table as Jensen stumbled in with a wide smile on his face. Each kid got a big hug, and a kiss on the cheek.
When they tried to talk over each other, he slowed them down, gently with a, “One at a time.” And, miraculously? It worked. He was informed of everything he'd already had reported to him. Only this time? In child perspective. Which made it dramatic. Completely over the top. Just the way he liked it.
A nod your way was all you received as you slipped past the scene; lifting his bag for him so that no one tripped over it. Including the bumbling dog that was trying to get a kiss in, himself. Oscar had missed his human while he'd been gone.
The dog had been with Danneel's brother during her last pregnancy. She'd been too sick to handle the energetic buffoon while Jensen had been away, filming the show. Gino had fallen in love with the pup. Keeping him...until he thought Jensen needed him more. Returning him back to the Ackles' home solemnly. Oscar had, once again, latched back onto the head of the house with a fierce loyalty that most wouldn't expect from a fluffed up mixed breed. The affection was mutual. Jensen's hand stilled the squirming beast with a simple pet to the top of his curled head as you left the chaos.
Jensen's room was clean. A feat that wouldn't last long once he started unpacking. Bed made up, clothes lined nice and neat, with just a hint of his cologne still lingering in the air from before he'd left. You dropped the duffle on the mattress and turned away. Only to catch sight of the image beside his pillow. It held the dogs, his wife, and the kids all surrounding him. Everything he loved in one picture. His family.
Slowly, you slid the door shut and returned back to the reunion, “Dinner's ready if you're hungry.” You smiled softly at the way he ensured each kid knew that they were loved before climbing back up to his feet. Lumbering after you to get the food while it was still hot.
“Spaghetti,” The actor rumbled in excitement, sniffing the air as he approached the table. His lips smacked hungrily. He was a sucker for a pasta with a good meat sauce. “The wardrobe ladies are gonna be mad at me, later, but I'm piling it up.” He hadn't exaggerated. The flight had left him hungry. “God, this is good.” Came the Dean-like groan as he chowed down. Forgetting that he didn't have to eat like a man who had lived off of nothing more than pizza and beer.
“Dad!” The tiny, disapproving tone left J.J with ease. “You're not supposed to talk with your mouth full.”
He gulped down the food, and smiled sheepishly, “Sorry, J-bird.”
“It's okay. Just try to remember,” The words were so Danneel that you couldn't help but to smile gently at them. She was going to be trouble as she continued to age. But, you had faith she'd be pretty great in the end. Hell, they all would if the night was any indication.
If he was upset about the show ending, he didn't show it. Even after the kids retired for the night and he helped clean up, he didn't say a word. The only thing you got was a pat on the back and a low “goodnight” that made your skin prickle before you returned your own.

The Thieving Magpie Chapter 1: Send my Condolences
Note: We finally got into my modern AU fic for Thronebreaker! Anyway it took quite a while, given some personal events in my life kinda drifted me off but y'all I am pretty excited about this. And I want to give a shoutout to @highkingofhuckleberries for being my awesome beta reader. Anyway, I will post this up on ff.net and other sources. For now please enjoy this little piece <3
A man in a sweater and jeans peeked through a tunnel of bibs and bobs. Ancient Greek sculptures are hidden in shadows, a painting of Rubens in exquisite colours celebrating Peace triumphing over War. He always wondered how Rubens painted the shields so exquisitely and how Mars stared at that woman with a heavenly crown with such submission. That sight was indeed marvellous to look up while drinking a cup of coffee. Dog-eared books chronicle obscure topics he does not care about (except the thoughts of Anna Karenina which he mildly enjoyed). Surely they will bring a fortune to an ordinary man.
And the only figure capable of getting his hands on these objects, without dropping some hard cash for them is no other than Gascon Brossard. A skinny figure who seems to be taken out of the ballads of Robin Hood and placed in the modern world. Maybe it is just for kicks, but honestly, he always aimed bigger - to appear all over social media platforms for impossible steals.
That itself is the thrill of the game.
“You heard about the news, boss…”
“What…” Gascon pursed his lips slightly into a boyish chuckle. “A new discovery of an obscure Asian artist? A watch worn by Cary Grant, just stolen that from a previous millionaire… Or wait, better…” as he slung a replica of a necklace into his hands. “Or a tipple to add to my collection."
One of his men shrugged slightly at his excitement “Well, you figure… Check your phone, dude…”
Gascon ran his fingers through his hair, as he flicked through his phone playfully. Newsflash about a certain sculpture lost in the crevices of history found in a house. “It supposed to be a symbol of protection against the evil for samurais. No surprise.” He zoomed in on the details of that figure. “I would be shit scared if I ever crossed paths with him…"
“That seems interesting…well, who does own this….?”
One of his men simpered quietly. “Well, you figure, boss, you know what is up…” And soon Gascon has a big grin on his face as he fiddled over the notifications in the phone. It seems that news went on forever and ever until his eyes peered quietly to a certain hint.
“The rarest of all fell to a rich bastard – Reginald… owner of many corporations, a philanthropist and at most, has many priceless treasures that could attract all…” He glared quietly at her photograph, she seemed magnetic as Grace Kelly herself, should she lived in modern times "It seems that she would be interested; we must pay a visit to that heiress.”
Meanwhile, Meve winched slightly as Reynard fixed that wound on her lip with stitches and rubbing alcohol. “Damnit Reynard, you should be a little gentler...”
“Sorry, madam...”
Reynard swallowed slightly. It seems that their kickboxing session went a little too heavy-handed. “I knew that you tried to out best me...” Meve gently gripped his hand and did a flip, throwing Reynard over her back. His look of surprise satisfied her spirit. Reynard groaned in pain “Madam… you have been sharp… using your charms to your will...” Meve beat her hands up and down with a smirk painted on her lips.
“I know my way around...”
“You’re sure?”
Reynard held his hands up with defeat. "Madam... you seem to be on the edge..." As he took the towel and wiped himself sheepishly. "Perhaps there is something that you wanted to tell me.” He noticed the bloodstains on the towel, probably Meve punched him too deeply on the nose. “Caldwell is setting all the matters from your late husband. You should not worry about these things, focus on taking care of your sons and managing our guests.”
“Reginald…”
Meve throttled slightly his reckless actions. “Well, he did not listen to me, took no lessons. Pretty expected of him… He has been secretive over things, not just his debt due to his hoarding of priceless art.” Reynard dabbled his mouth, watching Meve frown in disappointment. Everything seemed to be rushed so quickly, not to mention she had to manage the funeral arrangements.  “For reasons, madam…”, he simpered quietly “I knew him for years - yes, he could be eccentric, but it was all the matter of time, people would get their hands on his collection…"
“For now we must figure what to do next…”
Meve heaved a sigh as she plaited her hair. “Yes…Reynard…” as she wiped away the sweat with a towel. “I hope it all runs smoothly without anything flashing on the news…” Reynard gave her a tap in the shoulder. “I am sure, everything is guarded and no one will be able to break in the house, even before our next move.” However, Meve had a sinking feeling in her stomach as they both walked away from the gym. Maybe there is something that Reginald did not spill, let alone to her sons who inherited certain aspects of his eccentricity. “It is best, madam that we made appearances in such a difficult time."
Meve came over at the drawing room, it used to be the part of Reginald’s haunts and deals with Caldwell, a personal lawyer to the Rivia family. Instead of papers and new artworks all wrapped in bubble wrap, it was arranged with wreaths of white roses and lilies. She walked over the coffin of her husband, and she smiled bemusedly. Indeed the embalmer did a great job of fixing up what remains of him.  Reynard came to the coffin calmly “I suppose you have any wishes for my husband. Now it is the time”
Reynard held his silence. He gave a nod to him. And soon he could see a stream of mourners coming by “We better be ready…” Meve could only do, at that moment is to stay composed.
Later, at the funeral, Meve pursed her lips slightly, kissing a group of strangers clad in black. To be honest, she hated the choice of flowers that Reynard chose for the funeral, for it made her stomach turn slightly. And what made it worse, is that her sons took that role too well, especially Villem. In fact, a former flame of her husband came to the funeral and wanted to initiate small talk with Meve. She could smell her breath tingled with tequila which made her nauseated. Thankfully Reynard took the trouble to set her aside on the nearby table, where she sobbed noisily that she should have married him.
Gascon tipped his sunglasses slightly, as he scurries through the funeral. He always liked to imagine what would the rich think of Reginald as they gathered around his casket somberly, maybe he was a man filled with life and joy - while one or two would despise him. He would rather think of the other. He suddenly observed a stout man with peering eyes as he shuffled to the heiress. She donned herself in a simple black shift dress and her face obscured by a veil. Despite her grief, she stood tall and strong, ready to face anything.
“It seems tragic that your husband took the worse in his recent diving trip.” Gascon overheard intently the conversation as he quietly pressed the button in his cuff. “It must be difficult, Meve, you own something greater and I have yet to draft out what will be next for the auction.” He notices the drawl in that man’s voice. He seems to hold great importance as he passed a certain document.
“Please do not cloud me with condolences, Caldwell, he should have known better, even the reports pointed out to one source, but alas…”
Caldwell gave her a reassuring look. “Do not worry, I am no torturer… I too wanted to be done quickly lately - your husband’s collection gave food to the gossip circles, and in fact, I am surprised that all will come not to pay their last respects but to glimpse treasures, which I am afraid you will not comprehend. True, he had a kind heart, but it was in the wrong place.”
“Alas, it must be…"Meve shook her head slightly. “I assume that the plans for the auction went well…” Caldwell paused, watching over the crowd. “It is indeed, have you thought about the eulogy about your husband…?"
Somehow Gascon helped himself to the canapés, as he bit off the toast from his plate. He suddenly brushed to that lady’s shoulder, causing a commotion between the heiress and him. "Oh, my apologies… Damn, where the hell..." He quickly scrambled for his sunglasses and covered his face “Why are you wearing this...” Meve raised an eyebrow slightly and Gascon hid his face as he quickly pressed the button from his cuff. “Well... it is something to deter from people...” Meve raised an eyebrow in confusion. “Oh, condolences to your dead husband...” Gascon tutted slightly, as he managed to scrape this off at the back of his hand. He quickly texted one of his men “Make a commotion…"
“Do not kid me, who the hell are you?”
Gascon’s pulse quickened at that, he must leave the scene quickly without anyone knowing his identity. “Well... I am an old friend of your husband...” He tried his best to change his accent to something unusual. For now, in his mind, he thought to impress the heiress, a Brooklyn accent would be sufficient. “We used to go to college together, and I took his….” even before Gascon could finish up these words, Caldwell glared at him. “Who the hell are you?” There was ice in his voice.
“You are not invited…”
Caldwell watched him intently. “I knew his contacts well.  And you seem to stick out from the crowd like a sore thumb…” Gascon’s heart raced as he felt Caldwell grip his wrist. He stared at the security cameras with bated breath and hoped that things will turn for the better. “That is it, I am calling security to escort you out." Dammit, why do I have to think now? He constantly looked over at the cowering guards coming over to him and raised his hands in surrender “Fine…fine.. fine…I will move off.. if only…”, he gave Caldwell an irritating grin, watching them crowd by that handsome figure, Gascon could guess it was the god Apollo reaching his hands to the heavens. “I was talking to her, before we got interrupted, after all. I am connected to something greater.” He smirked cheekily at Meve, as he snapped the document from her hands. And before she could say a word, a glass window shattered at the distance.
“What the hell, send Reynard to check this out…”
And before long, Gascon slipped away amidst the madness with a bemused chuckle. He watched the hordes of guards searching over for him. It was fun to blend in the crowd of the rich and famous though he despised the taste of Reginald and his family with the gold-flaked marble pillars and of course the way how badly he arranged his possessions in a disarray. No surprise the management team had a difficult time handling his affairs. But nevertheless, it was a moment he will never forget.  And it helped that he managed to get a glimpse at the heiress, which by now was flustered about the mysterious break-in.
Damn. She is beautiful. Pity, she has to take care of the affairs, Gascon thought wistfully. He read briefly that her affairs with Reginald were nothing but flickers of passion. Most of the time she had to manage the mounting finances of Reginald, and on top of that deal with her meddling sons, which he could infer from conversations with friends that they became rivals. He gave a last look at the mansion before he glanced at the bus.  He thought the breaking in is a little excessive judging by the bodies moving in the mansion. He hoped that it will distract them for a long period before the funeral service.
The bus came over and he slung his backpack to his lap. He somehow couldn’t help but think of her. All of the sudden his daydream broke out when a buzz rang in his ears. “Dammit, a bit much…” Gascon hissed slightly, as he adjusted the frequency of the earbuds. “Sorry boss, got myself caught up in some shit…” Gascon slipped his headphones quietly as he looked over the messages of the phone. Data of the mansion flowed rapidly as he quickly zoomed in on the plans of the house. “It seems that hacking the system of the Rivia mansion is like taking over Helms’ deep…” Gascon rolled his eyes slightly. “Enough of that reference, get to the point…”
“Well, it may be your most ambitious steal to date… How are you going to do that?”
Gascon cracked his neck slightly. “Well, I got one part settled… Now it is just the rest….”. And soon he unveiled what he has stolen. A document of the will of Reginald. “I am going to read this all up, maybe it will point us to the location of the statue…"
"We are going to give our dear heiress and all associates a ball of a lifetime.”
Gascon gave a cheeky grin as he looked over the buildings and unto the rows of apartments. For that moment, it all seemed in place.
Meanwhile, Meve clenched her fists as she watched her cleaners dust up the shattered glass pieces. “Damnit, who is that bloody stranger who intrudes the wake…” Caldwell moped his eyebrow slightly, catching his breath. “Barely caught sight of him, but I knew of his actions. Rumours said that he challenged himself to steal the biggest treasures known to the world. Called himself 'The Thieving Magpie’…"
Meve flexed her eyebrows. That seems interesting that he seemed to have a particular taste of music. “Like that Rossini piece…”
“I hate that, to be honest…"
Caldwell seemed troubled by that intrusion. She watched Reynard crossing his arms with fury. “No sights of the mysterious invader.” Meve squeaked slightly.
“We tried, it seems that he did not do this all alone, I think there is another accomplice that helped him to sneak through the funeral…” Reynard slowly signalled to one of his guards to find another man with a bloodied nose, grinning at Meve. “Seems that he works for that ‘Thieving Magpie’.”
“Damnit, I need scans from our security cameras and search from all forces to find this thief.”
Caldwell gritted his teeth. “No luck, Meve…”, as she watched him heave. “He also took something else from you during that brief encounter. Thankfully I saved a backup in my computer.  I think, Meve, to ensure the safety of your husband’s inheritance we should do the auction under closed doors after his burial.”
“Yes, Caldwell…” Meve pinched the bridge of her nose in exasperation. “Reynard, do an inspection of the patrons when they come to view our private gallery, make sure that there is nothing suspicious.”
She swore that she will clip the wings of that thieving magpie whoever the hell he is. He will indeed pay for the invasion.

Irene's Return Part 1.
Somewhere in Japan Irene Duncan was hiding, running away from all the chaos that was the Couple Games. She wasn’t a diplomat here, she was just a girl who tried to clear her head as she saw and heard her classmates - friends deal with Maverick Storm, his aunt and everything that risked the life everyone thought they were going to have from the beginning. Who was I kidding? I was sent there for a reason… And I couldn’t take it, I wasn’t prepared for all of this.
Back in hopes peak Shin was wondering something… almost everyone was here after the attack… wait… where was Jirami? she was gone…. for a bit… She must have slipped out during the chaos… he goes to the gym and pulls out his lap top, looking up anything for Jirami.
Damian frowns as he wanders the halls of the academy. He felt guilty for not noticing until now, but he couldn’t find Jirami- or rather Irene- anywhere.
She had left all her stuff in her room, she thought no one would notice - no one did back then, why would they notice now? Whoever passed by her room in the academy, could hear her phone and laptop, load up with notifications and messages. Whoever was curious enough, could see the latest message on her phone: “Fresh air. Home.” Whatever the code meant, only Irene could understand it.
Damian stops at Irene’s door one more time. He figured she wasn’t there the 1st time, but maybe at the least he could find something to get a lead on where she could be. “Hello?”
“So now you’re talking to doors, Damian? What a great way of killing time, but I fear that doors can’t hold interesting conversations.” Akira was leaning on the frame of his own door, smirking.
“What do you want Akira?” Damian growls, eyes narrowing as he turns to face the boy.
Shin walks over to the two, laptopin his arms “Hi guys… Where you wondering where Jirami-san went as well?”
The sound from behind Jirami’s door could be heard once again.
“Yeah, I was…” Damian trails off, body tensing up. “Something is in there.”
Shin trys to look inbetween the frame and the door.
“Looking between the frames isn’t going to work. We need to get in there.”
“Ok… Mr Neagi wont like it but i think we have to bust the door down”
“Agreed, on 3?”
“Ok…”
“One,”
“Two”
“Three!” Damian rushes the door at the same time as Shin.
Once they enter, they see a somewhat tidy room - except for all the papers and pages ripped on the bed, with information about Maverick Storm from the beginning of the year and nonsense phrases, a legend to understand some sort of code.
Her phone and laptop on the desk were showing all the messages she had gotten from the day she disappeared.
Damian goes to check her phone first.
At least 10 notifications can be seen on the block screen. Her password is her real last name, who knows it in the academy? Who remembers the incident in which it was revealed?
There is a dark haired girl somewhere in this school that knows it, but she is busy trying to not get involved in everything because she has caused enough harm. That’s why she didn’t say a word when her aunt dissappeared… because it was still her choice.
Her laptop though, was unlocked and all the files could be opened without any inconveniences. Mails sent in Morse code and documents written in the newly-made code found on the papers.
After letting the two others bust the door -no blame could be pinned on him- Akira entered the room like he owned it. Nothing wrong with being curious, right? He picked up a piece of paper at random. Everything in this room was suspicious at first glance. Even more so when he spotted the various names on the notes. “What does she know?”
All the information was about Maverick Storm yet they know how he ended up. She didn’t have anything to do with it, what was this for then? However in one of the papers, lost around the bed, was a hint for her actual location. A blueprint, a map of an abandoned building nearby the school.
Damian tries a bunch of different passwords, but he can’t seem to put his finger on the right one. “You guys find anything?”
While shuffling around the papers, he threw in a corner of the room everything that didn’t make sense and kept the notes about Storm, the code and the map. “Lot of weird things, for sure. Maybe it’s important.”
Down the paper, the meaning to fresh air and home could be read: “objective accomplished” and “return to base”.
Irene in her spot was looking out the window of the highest apartment in the building, wondering what her classmates were doing. Am I in danger? Is this all over? She thought, anxious.
If they won’t try to find me, maybe I should leave for good. I didn’t have anything else to do here…
On another paper, a lot of passwords could be read in Morse code, including the one to unlock her phone.
Damian pockets Irene’s phone for the time being, picking up her laptop as well. “We should tell the headmaster about Irene being missing if he doesn’t already know.”
“And what is he going to do about it? There’s only two options: either he’s too occupied with his wedding’s prepaeations to find a missing student, or he just really has no idea and that wouldn’t surprise me because it already happened.” Wait a minute… “Irene? Who… Ooooh. What a dirty little liar.” He glanced back at the pile of sheets he collected. “I’m taking that. And I’ll be going to the headmaster… You seem to have an idea in mind.”
Tired eyes narrow in suspicion of Akira for a moment, but moves on. “We’ll go together later. I want to look over everything here, but I feel like we shouldn’t tell them everything if they really aren’t aware of her absence; we’d risk losing an opportunity to keep investigating.”
“Okay, Boss, don’t give me that look.” He rolled his eyes. “Still, we’re kind of on the same wavelength. We don’t tell anything, and we have more freedom to search.” He took a glance around the room. “And I don’t think we’ll find anything else… Unless we try the drawers.”
The drawers only contained academy files and homework, all the information was around the room. Under the bed was a barely noticeable case. It contained an old-looking machine and pictures and one of them showed the building where she was in that moment, the picture was marked with a red circle.
Damian turns to leave, only to nearly trip on an object poking out from under the bed. “Huh?” He sets down the laptop he was holding and slides out what looks to be a case.
“Aaaah? Well, now I wouldn’t even be surprised if she hid a gun between her jeans and her shirts… or in her underwear drawer.” “That is way too much to hide for a regular person.”
“I think I found what we’re looking for.”
“Instead of throwing suspenseful sentences around, tell us.”
“She isn’t far from here, we could go find her right now.”
That… that was unexpected. He… honestly didn’t know how to react to it. Maybe… huh… disappointed? “… I really hope it’s not far at all, because it’s sneaking out time.”
“I… May know a way out during the night”
“Ah. My idea of sneaking out was more like… we go out from the front gate right now while trying not to run into Sly and Hijirihara.”
“We’ll need a distraction if we do so.” He pauses to think. “Sora.”
“That could work. All we have to do is convince her.” He didn’t comment on the fact that the first person he thought to use for this plan was a 13 year old girl.
“…She’ll understand once we explain what’s going on.” He says, noting Akira’s gaze on him.
“You sure are relying on her. I didn’t know you were close.”
At night, Irene Duncan was preparing for leaving Japan for good, for leaving behind the life as Jirami Senkou. Even though the principal threats weren’t dangerous anymore, she still trusted her braces with daggers. With a last deep breath, she looked outside the window to the academy and left the apartment slowly and quietly.
“Does anyone have Sora’s number?”
“Nope. I guess we have to do it the old way.”
The girl in question is napping in a closet somewhere on the floor.
“Should we split to search for her?” Three of them… shouldn’t take too long.
“Let’s hurry then, we have to catch Irene as soon as possible.”
“Then we are splitting up. ‘Kay, I’m going this way.” He pointed somewhere behind him and walked away.
Damian takes off down another direction.
He tried to do as little noise as possible while searching the halls. They didn’t even search her room… though there was very little chances that she’s actually be in it.
Akira is closer, there is a closet that meant to be for storing class stuff in a classroom down the hall, that’s where the girl slepped.
Well nothing in the halls, time to check the classrooms. He entered one at random and took a look at every hiding place possible before moving on to the next.
The girl is lying inside one of those, black hair all around her, cuddled into herself.
He gave a small knock on the closet door. “Wakey wakey!”
The girl shakes. “I’m up, dad."She almost immediately replys, hitting her head on the closet when she wakes up."Ouch. Akira? What do you want?”
He snickered. “I’d like a good coffee, but that’s not what I’m here for. Damian, Shin and I need your help.”
“What do you need that you couldn’t do when I was awake? And why me?”
“Can’t sneak out in plain daylight, according to the others. And you can guess why we need you.”
“Where y'all sneak out?” She asked, getting out of the cabinet so she could strach.
“Searching for Ji… Irene.”
“… Oh. Okay. Do you need me to sneak you out?”
“I guess. Do you know a way out except from the front and back entrance?”
“I assume you want only those that aren’t dangerous… Yeah, a few. But you could also ask someone to let you go out to the mall on the afternoon. It was done before.”
“I don’t assume responsibility for poor strategic choices. Blame the boss. Blame Damian.”
“I’ll help you all out… I want my aunt to be here when I’m born.”
“Thanks.” The tone was harsher than what he had intended.
“…Is something wrong?”
“No.” That’s what you get for not bearing to hear about the others’ happiness. “Let’s find the others and get out of here as quick as possible.”
“Okay.” She grabs his hand. “Let’s go.”
He wasn’t okay with this, but he let it go. He lead her in the direction supposedly one of the two others took.
She follows him, kind of feeling like a little kid.
They meet back up with Damian, who stands near one of the stairwells in an effort to avoid cameras.
She lets go of Akira, sensing she’s unwanted, and looks at Damian. “Let’s get you out if here.”
“Sorry to ask you for help like this.” He apologizes, looking away.
“I want my aunt back.” She eyed him for a moment in consideration of something, half smile rising. She’d have to ask Kaede for help, but it might work…
“Do you want me to come or just to get you our of here?”
“It’s up to you, Shin is coming with us too.”
“So let’s get him and I’ll show you our way out.”
“Right.” Damian nods.
“Im here And ready!”
“Alright, let’s do this then.”
She leads the boys to a point in the gates around the school she knows the security barely ever reaches. “Let’s hope they won’t change their rounds in the next few years.” She said, climbing the tree near the gate that she could reach outside. “Entering back would be harder, that tree is much closer for where dad does look.”
He sighed. “Great, we are doing gymnastics to get out. I love it already. So does the metal thread keeping my rotula together.” He started climbing anyway.
“C'mon, I did it barefooted. This tree is an easy one.” “And you could have walked out of the main gate earlier and no one would’ve said a word.”
He laboriously reached a high enough branch while mumbling to himself: “As if they would listen to me…” He dropped to the other side as gently as he could… not enough.
“You okay?” She looked at him
“Ouch… Yeah, I’ll be fine.”
“You didn’t hit anything, right? Do you need help to stand?”
“No, I didn’t… A human crutch would be appreciated.”
“I’m short enough to do it.” She smiled. “Here.”
He leaned on her. “Thanks. I’m way heavier than you, stop when it hurts.”
“I’m stronger then I look!”
“… Sure.”
“I’ll get Damian or Shin to replace me later, don’t worry. Where are we going?”
“Damian has the map.”
“You really weren’t planning this well.” She looks down to her feet, half smiling.
Damian lands behind them using an arrow tied with a rope to lower him down.
“Nice party trick.” She blessed.“It’s not that high, yknow.”
“Work in progress. And yeah, I guess it wasn’t. Anyway,” Damian pulls the map out of his pocket. “We’re headed to this building.”
“This is where au-Irene is?”
“Hopefully she’ll still be there. Let’s get going. Shin come on!”
Shin is on his way.
Irene was just getting out of the building when they were on their way. She tried to show the pride she still had and faced them from a distance. “I guess all trails lead here, don’t they? I shouldn’t have left my stuff behind.”
“Jirami- I mean, Irene…you’re safe.” Damian says relieved.
“Who do you think I am, Damian? Of course I am, I know how to be.” She crossed her arms with a frown. “And these classmates of ou- yours? You do have a way with words, it seems. What are you all doing here?”
“We came to find you.” He responds.
Sora waves, smiling. “Heya, auntie.”
He frowned in response. “You’ve got some nerve, being such a dick after all the lies you’ve fed us.”
“Be nice, Akira.” Sora warned, turning to glare at him.
“For a good reason. I don’t have anything else to do here and for this-,” she pointed at him quite accusingly, “is why I didn’t want to explain what happened.”
“Please don’t leave.” Sora said. “Ignore Akira. Please don’t leave.
"I can understand there are truths you want to hide, but outright leaving and treating us as if we were expendable isn’t going to solve the problem. I’m not contesting the fact you don’t want to talk -you’re even admitting to your lies-, no, what bothers me is that you act like we’re lowly creatures in front of you.” He let go of Sora’s shoulder and reached for something in his pocket. “Ignoring me would be a sign of weakness.”
“It’s called a defense method, Romanov. Simple psychology.” She put her hands behind her back and looked to the black sky above them then sighed. “I wouldn’t even treat you like 'lowly creatures’ because you are like me, it’s my philosophy. But I have nothing else here, nothing else to do here…” Her eyes met his again and tilted her head with a frown, “do you have something to show me?”
“I don’t.” Sora admitted. “They woke me up so I could get them out of the school, I don’t even have shoes. But.. I came because I want you to be there. Because… Well, most of what I want to say is spoilers, but you are my aunt. And I want my family to be happy.”
“Meh. I suck at psychology anyway. All I do is that I confront people.” He pulled out the papers he had taken from her room. “I don’t have emotional arguments -if you don’t have any sort of feeling for none of us, so be it. But I don’t think leaving everything behind as if they’d be sure to come back and staying around for 4 extra months is something someone in the mindset of "I have nothing here, I’ll leave” would do.“
"I ran away. That’s what that kind of people do, they stay and watch… To be honest, I just wanted to make sure everything was alright, that what I did was enough. I wasn’t supposed to make emotional links with any of you. None of you looked for me anyway - or tried to.” She ignored Sora for the moment and swallowed hard before facing Akira and his accusing tone. “I tried to detach myself from you all. That’s what I did for four months.”
“Guilty as charged. A lot of things happened, a lot of them wrong… But I don’t think that counts as an excuse.” He smirked at the last sentence. “Can’t detach yourself if you’re not attached in the first place.”
“Do you think I’m an idiot? I know that! That’s one of my worst weaknesses and I accepted it but my cowardice about facing my emotions is stronger than acceptance… I lied to you all, I’m not the person you thought I was,” she dropped her gaze to the floor and glanced at Sora. “I don’t belong to your dimension or time anyway.”
“So?” Sora asked. “There would be baby me , in a but. Why shouldn’t she have my favorite aunt?”
She sighed in defeat. That’s not what I meant… she wanted to say but couldn’t, she didn’t have the energy to explain the meaning. “Tell me why should I go back to Hope’s Peak. All of you, give me your reasons and be objective.”
Sora has no real answer, not one that isn’t selfish. So she says just that. “Because I am being selfish.” She pulled her shoulders. “That’s my story.”
“I don’t think that’s a matter of what you should do, but what you want to do. But if you want to play it like that, you have plenty: in some subjects we have the best teachers we could dream of, we have a great chef, this school could use more people with common sense… There are also a lot of reasons not to stay that I could detail too, so you can make an objective choice. Or you can just do whatever the fuck you want, for no other reason than that.”
“….” Damian frowns, putting some thought into why. “I came to find you because I wanted to be sure you were…okay after the attack. After losing two of the teachers I cared about and seeing my best friend shot, I didn’t want to see anyone else disappear.” He pauses, looking away while gripping his jacket sleeve. “I don’t have a good reason to ask you to stay. I just know that you’ve done a lot for me as well as the school. And I’d like to think that you don’t really want to go, despite your…orders.” He pulls her phone out of his pocket for emphasis. “You don’t have to cut us off just because your job is done. None of us look at you like a bad guy despite your change, we see you as a friend, as family.”
“I dont know you well, but your nice, dispite orders, i know you ca at least stay in contact…”
She chuckles after a long minute of silence, taking a hand to her face. “If I go back and trouble starts again for some reason, you’ll ask me to stay away from danger. Our team got dissolved because of reasons you don’t need to know but this is my job and I won’t stop until the academy and everyone is safe. That’s it.” “I can do it from inside or outside but there are less risks here,” she motioned at the surroundings as she said. “Do you have something against this?”
“Keep everyone safe?” Damian repeats in thought. “Is this really the way to keep everyone safe? By cutting yourself off from attachment and relationships with those around you?”
“Yes!” She exploded, “because I don’t make stupid choices if I’m not attached!”
“Then what do you live for? do you just do you job, not enteracting with people?”
“Stupid choices? Getting to know any of us, my birthday, helping me when I was arrested? Was it all just stupid choices?!”
She visibly flinched at Damian’s argument and averted her gaze. “This is why. And Shin, I do interact with people. I’m a diplomat but I was about to be an ultimate and for the reasons you hear and see right here and now. You’re all Japanese and I’m Latina, our cultures are way different so don’t judge how I work. I just want to do what’s right.”
“I Dont care about your natinoality, And running off pretending that your in the right isnt good,”
“You don’t get anything. You don’t understand what’s going on here,” she said, tapping her temple with a finger and frowning. “We always wait for the worst to actually learn about right decisions.” Her eyes met Damian’s, “you are an example of that.”
“…..” Damian eyes flash with pain and anger- more to himself than her- as he walks up to her and holds out her phone. “Do what you want. I’m glad to see you’re alive at the very least.” “I’m going back now, because you’re right about waiting for the worst.” He looks like he wants to say more, but his thoughts seem to clash even more than before.
Irene sighs after Damian is out of hearing range. “Why saying the truth is always so painful?” Why this feeling is so familiar? “I’m going back but remember to keep your distance from me.” Damn you Dami… She thought as she shook her head while walking painfully slowly to the academy.
Sora leads the way back to the school. you’ll understand in time, she hoped.
Akira was also walking very slowly, but apparently not for the same kind of pain. He wasn’t even sure he could climb back to get into the school again… He didn’t want to think about what just happened at all. Wrong decisions, bad decisions… Stop it. Stop it all. He’s done things wrong and he knows it. That’s why he is like that now. Like… Stop it.

hey hoes so ill do my first impressions or w/e chrissa- kween! i was hoping she'd stay awhile but u know when someone wants to be elimed then u gotta! dana- idk ha!hevjkbev i dont remember a dana in any of these so! idk how she plays so yikes but i wouldnt be surprised if shes close w the other newer people lexo- im love her! im hoping we can do #that for callie tru matt- i played a game with him once and he voted me out so :/ but i think we can work well together tbh mitchell- hes malaysia and thats all i know, im not sure how he played in malaysia and lowkey the only times i ever interacted with him he kinda annoyed me gtg monty- aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh i love monty, i know he will be one of my closest allies for sure! i cant wait to slay w him linus- hes from winnipeg and he seems sneaky to me and hes a newer school player so he could be close w the others ryan tiddie palmer - i love my dadt sdhvbdfv but also im a little wary of him bc i have a feeling he would love to vote me out but as of rn i need him so, we'll see zak- i voted him out in palau and thats all i got kjehfvbjr i didnt even kno they played a game before anyway hes also part of the potential new school alliance
also heres the vote tea, basically mine and lexis names were being thrown around and i was like??? we aint even do anything so then we started throwing zaks and linus name around. anyway me and mont were freaking out bc we needed 2 more people to get majority and vote zak and save me and lex, so we recruit chrissa and we make an alliance chat w ha. we call and talk about who we can pull in and such. so come the next mornin i start talkin to matt who said he was down for voting zak. honestly i trust matt he seems more trustworthy than other people plus i dont think he knows a lot of the tribe members tru so if i keep him close then my alliance should be good tru. anyway i talk to lexi to figure stuff out, and i talk to zakriah and basically tell him that im willing to vote lexi next round or w/e, mind u this is after chrissa anounces that she wants to be voted out, and well hopefully by telling him this i can gain his trust a little and get some tea from ha. also zak knows that me mont and lexi were targetting him??? honestly idk who couldve told him unless it was chrissa??? no one else shouldve known tru, anyway so i get the tea from that mitchell is the one who told him that he heard my name being thrown around and kjefbv like i dont wanna confrontational or anything but i went to mitchell and asked him about it and he was "like honestly it was like a grapevine thing tbh like nobody was like "...how bout karen" it was more of "i've heard Karen"" LIKE??????????????????????????????? REALLY BITCH THAT DONT ANSWER MY QUESTION. grapevine my ass, like thats what zak told me too, like !!!!!!!!! just tell me bc if u dont then im gonna assume that ur ass is the one started the whole "i heard" thing nnnnn anyway!!!! im just relieved that chrissa is asking to be voted out bc this couldve been way more stressful aaaaaahhhhh  honslee i was scared this was all a ploy to throw votes but i genuinely believe ha and i love chrissa too much to ever disrespect her wishes so :/ bye bye chrissa we hardly knew ye!

Not much has happened so far. We won the first challenge, which is awesome, and kinda gives me this fire to keep winning just so that we can keep beating the vets. It's kind of fun to be the underdogs (considering we all have much less experience than the vets) and to win. As long as we don't get a flash challenge, I'm not too worried about how well we do. Or at least, how well I do. I just don't want to be the person with the lowest score. Anyways, on day 2 or something Lily messages me and says we should be in an alliance, since we knew each other from a chat. So I said sure, and she gives me an idol clue she found! Holy shit! Lucky for her, I don't have any other alliances, otherwise I could so easily just play her. I don't have any plans to though - she seems very trusting and kind and I respect that. I just have to be careful it doesn't get me in trouble as long as we're aligned. So I go to search for the idol, with the clue she gave me in mind, and somehow end up finding the exact same clue she did. Hopefully we don't make the same mistake again next round.

OMG okay so first off... Daisy comes to me saying she likes Jacob. Okay. Perfect. He's my ride or die anyways, so now we have a mutual ally we can lean on, and she says she wants to be in an alliance. Cool. Even better. Let's officialize this shit.
So Daisy makes the chat, and she says "alright Johnny and Jacob, let's add Willow and Luca" and I'm internally freaking out with Jacob on the side here, and Jacob and I are losing it in PMs and we're like "I think that wouldn't be the BEST idea, just because adding people late can make them think that they're going to be 4th and 5th" So Daisy is going to stick with us three being a f3.
Little does Daisy know that Willow wanted a four person alliance with me and Jacob already, and it didn't include Daisy, so it'll be easy for Willow to think she's on the in, and same for Daisy, which can be GREAT for later.
All I know is I'm going to have to do a little educating to Daisy on how to play this game, and making an alliance with three people and then adding two people LATE is no beuno sweetheart... Thank God Jacob and I prevented that one. At least we know we're in a core for now, and we can start picking off the weaker rookies............... or maybe we go after someone who looks like they can be smarter, and an independent player. Maybe Aro for example? Let's see what happens after immunity (giggle)

So after Chrissa announced she wanted to be voted out, Karen and I were able to talk to each other for the first time this game. I pushed that I didn't want to target her if it wasnt out of hate, and targeting each other based on lack of communication could be easily fixed - after all, what's better than an unlikely duo? I'm in two right now if I'm not being played: as far as I know Linus wants to work with me to get out Karen, and Mitchell also thinks that's what I want. However, I want me an ally in Karen, and Lexi or Mo's gotta go next.
Tumblr media
Something terrible happened to me irl yesterday and Im in a bad headspace right now. I really dont feel like talking to anyone besides Luca and Johnny(whos actually pretty cool) so I cant wait to get to the swap. I tried connecting with Kaya a bit but she doesn't seem to like me very much. I have a terrible migraine and everything kinda sucks right now but I'll fight through it. I can't wait for the time when I eventually look back on this confessional and cringe at the angst lmao
Tumblr media
I low-key hope I get taken out of this challenge early so I don’t have to sit around all night doing it, but the only way that’d be able to happen is everyone just went after me to start the challenge, and no one knows I’m good at live challenges except Chrissa, and she’s bye bye
Tumblr media
Aw Dana assigned me to shoot my fuckbuddy aromal in the first round of the IC :( like the opposite of the hunger games up in here :(
Tumblr media
This paintball challenge is so fucking FUN! Like, it's so cool to keep on my toes and constantly be dodging/shooting paintballs. It's like my own sort of little endurance challenge. I just have to be sure I don't miss any dodges... That's why I changed the conversation notification settings to notify me every time my name is said. :P But it's fun, anyway. And if I lose, I can blame my team and use the machete I got. >:3c
Tumblr media
So... let's play catch up!
Chrissa got voted out unanimously like she ASKED TO. It sucked bc I liked Chrissa but she was a lil strategically problematic so... whatevs. BUT then Karen starts being like "oh would you have voted for me? where'd my name come from?" and being kind of aggressive about it so... that turned me off. Honestly yeah I would've voted your ass out, you ignored me and continue to do so lol, but after that? I'm set. I think my allegiance with Dana is solidified by my complaining to her about Karen, and honestly? I see her as my #2 in this game.
Matt, the other option for my #2, also tells me he's ready to make a move  against the Karen/Monty/Lexi coalition when we next go to Tribal Council. We're slaying this challenge so that won't be tonight, but when it does, Karen's ass is grass if I've got anything to say about it!!
Karen and Lexi still make minimal effort to talk with me. Pretty much nobody has been 1-on-1 talking with me throughout this whole 3-hour-long-so-far challenge which is also kind of ridiculous but??? What are you gonna do. I'm still sick so hopefully when I recover I'll start schmoozing like I usually do and stop oozing like I don't wanna do.
also fuk u mangrove swamp

RETWEET IF YOU ARE ON TEAM LA NEEDS TO GO THE FUCK TO SLEEP.
This challenge is murdering me. 4.5 hrs left SO.
Tumblr media
So, I quit during the paintball challenge. I was the last person left on my tribe and I just couldn't see myself pulling off a win, not against five people - I did manage to get one out on my own but it seemed very doubtful I could have gotten them all. I'm not sure how I feel about throwing it like that, I probably could have faked it and just posted a shoot at the 6 mark which might have been better for my game, cause I'm not sure how that will effect how the vets see me from this point on, or if my tribe finds out and gets mad at me for it, but Y'ALL SHOULD BE HAPPY I DIDN'T MAKE US SUFFER THROUGH ANOTHER FOUR HOURS OF THAT @ VETS. I hate giving up/losing but at the same time, this is only the second challenge of the game. If this has been an individual immunity challenge, damn right I would have stuck it out but it's still early on and I think this vote will be pretty straight forward. IF I manage to get voted out I'll feel so stupid for throwing it but as of right now I trust my alliance and feel safe. (famous last words)
Tumblr media
So now Star wants to talk to me...... Tooo little too late bud. You've been talking to the least amount of people this whole game, you didn't even help with the immunity challenge, and now you're coming to me all worried about the vote? Sorry you're in this situation, but you made your own bed, and now you have to lay in it.
On a different note, I was talking to Jacob, and we were thinking that two of us should throw our votes onto someone else, just in case of an idol play, but honestly, I don't wanna be that paranoid freak always worrying about an idol, but I also don't wanna a repeat of the last tumblr survivor I played in, where I got idol'd out of the game, so I'm trying to be careful. I might talk to Daisy about it, but I don't want to come off as paranoid, so it'll be an interesting talk if I choose to have it...
(Slightly later)
OMG LILY JUST TOLD ME SHE HAS THE IDOL I'M SCREAMING!! Now I don't have to worry about a fucking idol play. Not only that, but she tells me that I'm the only person in the game that knows about the idol, which is huge for me because it means that she trusts me the most, and this can be a relationship outside of Jacob, Daisy, Willow and Luca, so this is really good. I am going to focus on forming a broship with Aro too, just to have that connection, but I think that I'm starting to become very trusted in the tribe, which is good.
I know my struggle is going to be when we switch tribes, and just hoping that the luck of the draw doesn't put me onto a tribe with bad numbers, but even if I do, I think I'll be able to charm my way out of it. The fact that I want to vote out most of these people, and they still continue to prove to me that they trust me the most is CRAZY, but Lily is definitely going to be a tool I'm going to utilize in the game for a long long time, and I hope she and her idol make it deep enough in the game to benefit me.
Sorry... rambling. My struggle now is whether or not to tell Jacob. I don't want to lose his trust later in the game by him finding out about this idol, and him knowing that I knew about it. I think I'm going to tell him about it later tonight, and I hope that he'll be thrilled, but he isn't even going to be back for day change... At least now I know that I don't have to worry about the idol, especially because I doubt there are more than one idols out there, from my specific tribe, so definitively, it's bye bye Star time :(
Tumblr media
Jesus.... Karen and I survived that round.. In what world is that actually realistic? But we did and thankfully with little issues like messy thrown votes or Chrissa playing an idol on herself after misting us all. I was really nervous that it was all an actual trap because I have seen it happen before and boy is it terrifying but bless her heart for being true to us all.
The challenge was one that I have won before so I was not too nervous about the whole workings of the challenge but I was nervous about how long the challenge would go. I was so tired yesterday for some reason and I do not know if I could have lasted until 2 am with very little break. I would have tried my best of course so I could make sure Karen and I were safe but there is only so much a single person can do which L.A. ended up proving. The Veterans won the challenge THANK GOD and so we do not have to worry about one of us being voted out bless. Right now I would def consider Karen my final 2 because we do share the common homie of Callie and I do my best to trust Callie's judgement most of the time (the other times... I just can not defer from what god wants). My only issue is that Karen has a lot of friends on this tribe that I fear she might pick over me such as Monty and that makes me a bit scared of her but right now we sort of need each other in terms that we are both the most threatening ones on our tribe at the moment so if she gets rid of me, she does not have many people to hide behind and I have been known to be a very good meat shield for those that take advantage of it so here is to praying she is actually my final 2.
Tumblr media
Okay I love my tribe now. Seriously though I was only disliking them because I was too mentally checked out to socialize. They're all really sweet people and omg it was all i could do to stop them from pronouncing Zaks name wrong lmao during the challenge. Even though I outta be pissed that more than half of us got eliminated for breaking simple rules, I loved that they were cheery about it.
For the vote ahead, it should be a smooth 9-1 against Star. He hasn't been too active thus far and everybody seems to be on board.

LAST ROUND VOTING: A SUMMARY We get back to camp after being beaten in the immunity challenge and things devolve into chaos. Mitchell starts whispering "Lexi" and then shouting "WHO SAID THAT! I HEARD YOU! lexi.... WHO WAS THAT!!!!" Lexi and RTP climbed into the shelter and started singing songs together, waiting for other people to join. Matt sat himself on a rock and just kinda sat there...waiting.... Zak was running around, talking to each and every person saying he heard something different to everyone, calling every guy Miss and every girl Qween. Karen was sitting trying to have sensible discussions, and Mitchell and Zak saw this and started freaking out. Mitchell kept his calm and kept whispering lexi... but Zak thought he said Karen and started freaking out. Meanwhile, I'm running around screaming at people that Zak is dead weight and Linus is a rat, but nobody is really listening to me. Meanwhile, Linus disappeared into the woods to maybe go try on some wigs or some shit, and Dana is off talking to anything that moves, with various degrees of success. In the middle of camp is Chrissa, just sitting. Me, Karen, Zak, and Mitchell are all screaming about who should go, and she silently raises her hand and says four words. "I. I will go." Everyone stopped and just kinda looked at her, and then started screaming. Not words, just incoherent noises, and that never stopped until Chrissa's torch was snuffed by Isaac
real confessional for this round: So, this has been a pretty chill round. As a tribe, our number one priority was winning immunity. I staying longer than a few people, until I had to go swim. I still need to talk to Dana, Lexi, and RTP this round to keep those connections alive, but other than that, my social game is less shitty than in the past! So, overall, this is not looking terrible for me!
Tumblr media
IS DAISY FUCKING KIDDING ME?!? Daisy, girl, we spoke about this. Adding people to alliance chats can only cause problems. Making a brand new chat is the way that it has to be. I can't be closely tied with someone who is actually that oblivious to how this game goes. It's like telling someone that there's a three person alliance, and we just want them to be fourth on the ladder. THAT'S NOT HOW THIS WORKS. Luckily for me, it's someone as ditzy as Lily is, and it's someone who doesn't really talk to a lot of people, and she's someone who has an idol, and now Daisy and I were both told by Lily, which is why Daisy added her.
One thing that Lily and Daisy aren't aware of is that Jacob knows about the idol too, and that's because I told him, so with Jacob in the loop, and me being the one who told me, is PRIME. I need to be the barrier of communication between all of them, and right now I think I'm doing a steady job. One thing I need to work on is my relationship with Allie and LA, because they're two SMART girls, who I haven't been spending much time talking to, so I might work on that later today, even though I've spoken briefly about the vote to both of them, I need MORE!
Tumblr media
Well after the mess with Chrissa we were lucky enough to win, and I think the challenge was a good bonding experience for the tribe. Now I'm kind of in the middle right now I like my alliance a lot but I think I could work with Karen and Lex in the future so I'm nervous about alienating them and I'm like back and forth back and forth like a metronome or some dumb swingy shit. So lemme just cross my fingers we don't have to go to tribal, and that somebody I know will get this damn idol ay dios bio
Tumblr media
We lost the immunity challenge earlier. I'm super disappointed but I doubt I'm in any trouble at tribal council. I kinda messed up by posting early, lost my head and this probably was a factor in our tribe losing. On their tribe, only three people messed up.
But challenge aside, I feel I'm pretty safe for the time being here. I like Jacob, Willow, LA, Johnny and Allie and I think I'm getting along with Aromal too. Really the only people who I haven't really been talking with are Star (who's getting evicted today), Daisy and Lily.
I should probably talk more with the other two. All that said, this game is phenomenal. You can never know if you're really safe.
Tumblr media
HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!! I FOUND THE FUCKING IDOL AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA But like... wow. I find the idol clue on my very first search, and then on my second search, I find the idol itself. When will your fave... #newqueenintown

We won! Updates game wise so I'm just utr1 instead of inv.
1. Zak is still a self righteous prick, but he's also smart enough to just flat out target me rn, so idk.
2. Matt is easy to talk game with, he's seeming a bit paranoid though.
3. Dana and Ryan, still love em both.
4. Mitchell is everyone's best friend, hillarious dude. That also sadly means he is the biggest threat in the game. Of course, right now I want to work with threats, but eventually he will be scary.
5. Karen is still my target.
6. Gotta try and make Lexi and Monty not flip at a swap.
7. Linus is the best, he's probably the front runner to win right now.
Tumblr media
Okay so I keep forgetting about confessionals oops. But I'm going to my first tribal council ever tonight and I'm a little nervous. I feel like this vote tonight should be pretty simple because everyone in the tribe wants to vote out Star, but I'm worried that he might have an idol or something since 9/10 people in our tribe looked for the idol yesterday. Also I'm still a little bit irritated at myself from the challenge yesterday because it said 7:05 on my computer when I pressed send but it was still 7:04 on the skype clock or whatever Idk
