jihyo maybe learns that some humans think sex is only meant for making babies and she decides to agree with them. she'd definitely be like 'are we making a baby today?' every time they have sex. she knows absolutely nothing about pregnancy and all but in her head it could only benefit them — she reaches that conclusion after hearing about sex during pregnancy. and succ hyo probably thinks making a baby is easy and happens instantly, so she wants that promptly. sana surely makes her take pills though (jihyo has no clue that the 'vitamins' sana gives her are anti-baby medicine).

overall, hyo would love being filled to the brim regardless of sana having a knot or not! and succ hyo becomes a fan of her new body because, although she struggles with it at the beginning, she learns that not taking things easily like before make the experience even better. sana might get really horny with the idea of breeding her little demon, but i think she wouldn't really have any intentions to have a baby! dirty talking as if she has that intention, though, always makes her rock hard and sana definitely loves giving jihyo too many loads under the excuse that that will give her the evil babies she wants

Why Existence is the perfect conclusion to TXF: my take on S8

William's storyline is the last X-File of the season (of the entire serie for some) and I think that it contains the essence of the show and the characters and that's why S8 should have been the last one in my opinion.

This analysis will aim to examine both positive and negative factors of S8. I'll try to do my best, but this is also a very personal meta. I ask you to hang on with me, if you can.

S8 overall impressions

I concluded S8 one week ago now and I had time to reflect with a cool head. I still think this is the worst season of the show (if we don't include 9 to 11 and I'm not going to talk about them here and I'd like to keep ignoring them :D ). Mulder's absence heavy influences the season obviously, the atmosphere is tragic and dramatic. It's a bit of a shock for the fans, since the light and fun air we had in season 6 and especially 7. Even though I liked Doggett and Reyes and I'm glad they joined the team, the mytharc episodes were way more then usual and as usual not handled well (starting with Within/Without), also some episodes were really just bad (Badlaa) and other make suffer Scully again and again uselessly (Roadrunners). How many times can Scully be afraid to have a miscarriage? She's pregnant and alone ffs, she had enough. All the fixation on her baby and people who wanted to hurt him or both of them really made me sick at some point.

Mulder's return makes things better, if we ignore his OOC behaviour in Three Words. I get his PTSD and feeling out of place in a world that went on without him. And I expected him to be territorial about the X-Files with Doggett, but he talks to Scully like he resents she's moving out of work because of her pregnancy. He'd be the first one to explode with joy for her (for them both), finding out she's going to have a baby. I'm glad he behaves normally from Empedocles on. Mulder's resurrection in This is not happening/Deadalive is a bit all over the place (they think he's dead but in the end he's not but meanwhile they buried him for three months? And then they need a vaccine for him to not turn into an aline but in the end they don't? O-ok. What's going to think Maggie Scully about all of this? Poor soul) but ok, let's go on.

Scully's pregnancy

Through all the season, we don't exactly know what to think about Scully's pregnancy. She wasn't supposed to have children after her abduction. Then Mulder tells her he found the vial with some of her ova. She takes them to Dr. Parenti and he says she has a chance. We also find out Dr. Parenti seems to be involved in aliens' experiments. In the end IVF doesn't work. So it seems whatever he tried to do with her, he failed, but the question remains: how is possibile for Scully to be pregnant?

Even Mulder doesn't know what to think. And I don't think his confusion is about the who's the daddy stupid topic, but about how it was possibile for her to carry a child in the first place. He's worried someone is using her again and she will suffer again. I don't think he has doubts that, experiments aside, he's the only one that can be the father of that baby. And even though he wasn't the biological one, he'd accept the role as the father all the same.

Aside from that, I think this baby is the first chance in Mulder and Scully's life to find their own normalcy, to start a life aside from work, to step aside from their save-the-world-responsabilities. They suffered enough for a lifetime afterall.

Getting out of the damn car

Mulder isn't in the FBI anymore. Scully is in maternity leave but she's not sure she'll be back. The X-Files were hard to leave behind for both of them, but they realized they would reach an end of the road sooner or later. And the end is now. We see a switch from Mulder's moment of closure about Samantha. He feels free and lighter, the atmosphere in S7 is fun and playful. As I tried to show in my fanvid, I think not only Scully, but Mulder too seeks a simpler life (maybe normalcy wasn't the right term. Neither Mulder nor Scully were ever proper afterall). At the end of S7 they both are getting there:

But even before Mulder's abduction, there's always the dilemma: Mulder's personal quest may be over, but what about looking for the Truth? Unmask the corrupt government and its secrets? This quest is maybe endless and both Mulder and Scully know about it.

Will the duty always be before the personal happiness?

Doggett & Reyes

Here they come, a skeptic and a believer again, to achieve the needed balance. I liked how the writers didn't try to replace Mulder with a similar character. Doggett is way different: he's an old school policeman, he seems reliable and tough. The sheriffs respect him and don't go as far away as possible from him like it happens with some other spooky and weird guy. He has male friends and does manly things. But he's also lonely and he's lost somebody he deeply cared for because of something he can't explain. So he's drawn to the X-Files in more ways than one.

Reyes always smiles and that made me fall for her. She's a breath of fresh air in a dark and melancholic season. She doesn't know well Scully, but she's ready to help, because she trusts Doggett and that's enough for her. She respects Mulder even before knowing him, because Scully does and that's enough for her. She's ready to do everything for a cause that she cares for and her amazement and sense of justice really reminded me of the feeling of the first season.

I adore how Scully and Doggett's trust is built case after case, I love how Scully sees something of herself in him (his need to find practical proofs and his stubborness on not believing the fantastic) and viceversa (Doggett is protective of her and her child because he doesn't want her to go through what happened to him). I love how Scully likes Reyes from day one, because she's fun and weird and she reminds her of her dead sister (this really warms my heart).

I love how Mulder obviously is territorial about his department with Doggett but then starts to respect and trust him enough with the X-Files. I love how Mulder sees how spontaneous and stubborn Reyes is and says she'd be useful in the X-Files.

The way both Mulder and Scully pass the baton to them really does things to me. Because maybe the quest to the truth really is infinite, but they understand they can find people honest and passionate about that just like them. And after all these years, they can rest, knowing that someone is still out there fighting.

William

As I anticipated, many things are said about this baby. He may be an hybrid by the aliens, he may be a supersoldier by the army, he may even be a real miracle by God. But I like to think it's none of these things.

William is really the union of Mulder and Scully. When the IVF fails, Mudler says:

Mulder, the furthest man from religion, says it to Scully, because that's what he does best: he believes. He never gives up no matter what (he neither did when Scully had cancer). He knows she needs to hear it and he needs it too. He's ready to believe in a miracle for her.

I don't think William is a miracle in the christian sense. I think he's a miracle, because it's the most improbable but plausible thing that could happen in a sea of paranormal possibilities. What if there was a 1% chance for Scully to become pregnant in a conventional way and they fell in that 1%? He's the essence of both their genetics and their points of view. What if he is just a normal boy?

Because it's theirs, their baby, their miracle. And if I have to choose what to believe, I want to believe that.

As a fan of D&D and animated shows, have you been keeping up with the legend of vox machina?

Yea! I haven't seen the very latest episode yet but I've watched the first five.

I continue to enjoy how it's treating the original game as a first draft and doing some rearrangements in the adaptation to improve pacing, flow, and general sense-making - like how Vax's extremely busted Boots of Speed have been integrated into the functionality of his god-champion-artifact armor, and why they changed Vex's near-death experience last season to Keyleth taking the bullet for her because Vex's actual-death experience this season was going to be very important story-wise but mechanically played out very similarly to the first one (one-shotted by dark magic in an area that suppresses magical healing) and having it happen twice would've weakened the impact. Personally I think in an ideal world we'd be getting a lot more time per season to let the characters breathe - the pacing of the original series is frankly very slow, bordering on unwatchable for certain attention spans, but the pacing of this season is kinda breakneck in comparison and characters are getting big upgrades and moments of revelation quite often, which isn't bad but feels like it could have a little more punch if they had a longer windup. Still, that's the nature of the level-based beast and it's not a complaint, just a little tickle in the back of my head.

The animation continues to be gorgeous, and while the 2D-3D blending of the visuals feels a little weird sometimes, I think it works in-story that the 3D-rendered dragons look very different to everyone around them, since it makes them feel more otherworldly and terrifying. I also like that they don't really look like their Official D&D Counterparts, and the way they've respec'd their breath weapons into things like "wings constantly leaking acid" is really neat.

I also think the way they've shifted the magic system is very interesting. D&D has extremely hard-magic rules on who can cast what spells at what time based on what they know or have prepared. The show dials that way back and treats it a little more hand-wavey, though they'll still hint at the spell slot system with casters being like "sorry I'm out of juice" or "I think I can only do it once a day" which is cute. But this shift to a softer magic system does mean the more versatile casters, mostly Keyleth, seem like they can kind of just do anything depending on the needs of the scene - which is obviously not what is mechanically happening, but because we can't see her spell list or class features it's kind of what it feels like. She has all the standard element-manipulation and druid shapeshifting/treehugging stuff, but we also see her bust out the power of the sun and turn into a giant fire monster, which doesn't feel quite as connected to the rest of her powerset - it makes sense if you squint, but in the moment there's a little lurch of "where did THAT come from?" Now that's not bad writing on the show's part, it's a holdover from the inconsistency of D&D's spell lists. It DOES feel weird that a wind magic specialist could cast Sunbeam just because they hit level 11. Narratively what this indicates is that Keyleth is frankly ridiculously reality-warpingly powerful and doesn't really know her own strength yet, which is top-notch characterization and very consistently demonstrated in-show, but it does invite that one storytelling bugaboo of "how are the heroes gonna solve this one? …………magic." It's subletting a townhouse in the suburbs of The Power Was Within You All Along.

Overall really liking it so far!

Sooo, just a small comment on some of the things I loved in the finale of PJO.

There are obviously gonna be spoilers here soo...

-The fight between Percy and Ares!!! I loved the wave and now it was a subtle way of showing Poseidon was indeed beside him.

-The scenes between Percy and Luke!!! "Look, you didn't want to be a half-blood...". I loved the addition of these flashbacks of Luke teaching Percy to fight.

-Olympus! Omg, it was so pretty!!!

-Percy immediately being a total little shit with Zeus, I loved that!

-Poseidon showing up to protect Percy!

-Percy understanding only the word for "father" in Ancient Greek. He knows it because of Sally!

-"Ares is a moron."

-Overall the whole exchange between Percy and Poseidon. It really is a big step from him being all bitter and it was a bit corny but I liked it still.

-When Percy reveals Luke is the Lightning thief!

-Luke not fighting Percy at first. I have thoughts about the whole thing but I'll put them later on.

-Luke snapping for a moment and attacking Percy only after he mentions his father.

-Annabeth and her dagger!

-"Wait, your name is Percy!" And later "I don't think so", This was sooo hilarious. Especially when you think about how he initially tried to lie to him he's his dad. I'm pretty sure Dionysus knows his and everyone's name very well, he just likes being a jerk.

-"Some place called Disneyland", tbh, I feel like Annabeth won't be thrilled. I certainly wasn't and I was still am pretty childish as a kid.

-Grover's license!

-Their pact! That was so cute!

-"What did you dream of?" "Grandpa.". For a moment there I was like "What!? Are they tring to make it look like it was all a dream or that they're trying to make it as if Sally doesn't remember!?" but a moment later I was like "Nope, that's Percy Jackson, of course he'd refer to Kronos as his grandpa even tho he's his biggest enemy rn"

-Blue pancakes!

-When Percy and Sally were leaving the apartment, Percy's last narrative and the rain outside!

-The devastating moment when I thought we're not seeing Gabe turned into a statue but juuuust in case skipping the credits (call it a feeling or sth) and...

-GABE TURNING INTO A STATUE!!!! I'm honestly so happy! I'm not even mad Sally didn't do it as it was implied in the books. But she was divorcing him! I know he wasn't portrayed as bad as he was in the books in the TV show but I still believe he was emotionally abusing and he was still a jerk even tho it was toned down. Also, he was such an annoying, whiny bit-$(#..

...

That's all I can think of rn, even tho I believe there were other things too.

Now, I gotta admit I've read the book a looong time ago so I don't remember everything in great details but I noticed lots of the changes in the episode and throughout the whole season. I still enjoyed the show a lot, tho. Most of the changes made sense and like... Come on, it's an adaptation! And Rick Riordan was involved in the process so I believe he knew what he was doing with all these changes.

Tbh, I liked the first two episodes a lot, then idk, the third, maybe fourth too, were a tiiny bit meh to me but overall, I loved it and loved the last couple of episodes! I have mixed feelings for some things like them knowing about Medusa, the Lotus casino and other stuff but again, I trusted the process and it worked! It's only 8 episodes and there was a lot to happen there so I can see why these changes were needed. Figuring all out would have taken them a lot of time. Also, it was as much for new fans as it was for new ones so of course some things had to be made differently. For example, how the whole thing about who would betray Percy was done.

I've been watching lots of videos and posts of new fans who haven't read the books and I was cackling like an old hag at their assumptions how it was gonna be Grover or sth. And you just can't convince me that episode 7 and Annabeth getting caught by one of the roots wasn't with the exact purpose of making people think "Oh, they are friends now, what if it's her?" It was really well-played. And let's not forget how everyone was like "Luke! Babyboy, so precious." Can't wait to see everyone's reactions now... (Luke is still these things, even though he is "bad guy")

Speaking of Luke, again, haven't read the books in a while but I somewhat don't remember him and Percy being that close and being such good buddies. Idk, might need to read them again but even though I didn't mind that dynamic too much, I really thought this is more like how Luke and Annabeth should have been. I feel like we needed more interactions between them. Also, Luke speaks randomly about her twice, first telling Percy about her and calling her "my little sister" and then last episode giving that example with the spiders (nopee, I don't believe itt, she won't crush it, she'll scream and run unless it's a huge spider, then she'll fight it because of her bf) but she barely (if not ever) mentioned him? Yeah, she mentioned Thalia but almost nothing of Luke?? How are you gonna convince me that was her hero!? She should have been broken by his betrayal much more than Percy! Also, they kinda made Luke somewhat of a big softie, I thought it was because then his betrayal would have been more devastating but nope, there wasn't some kind of a 180° turn in his behaviour. Wonder why, to make him more relatable or? I want to see how his further actions are going to play out in this scenario...

Anywayy, all in all, I enjoyed the show a lot and I hope there is a next season. I want to see how the story will proceed on the screen (and I hope the changes we keep getting aren't anything too essential).

THE HIGH REPUBLIC READING PROJECT UPDATE: Since I finished Phases I and II (aside from Young Jedi Adventures previously), in the interests of not having a mile long post, I'm just doing Phase III stuff now. I've also decided against including The Vow of Silver Dawn since I don't think there's an official English translation--though, I am reading the fan translation. (Slowly, I've been reading ORV when I do have time to read.) Look how close I am! I'm even an hour and half into Defy the Storm and I've started the Phase III comics and I'd guess I have about ten issues left in total to catch up on and I finished Young Jedi Adventures. I can totally do this over the next week and a half!

Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures - 25 episodes + 6 shorts

I enjoyed Escape from Valo a lot more than I thought I would, Older's and Wong's books usually just aren't my jam, but when they got in a bunch of new characters, I found myself more intrigued this time around. Part of that is probably that Phase III feels a lot tighter and more impactful now that they've had time to really get in gear as an initiative, but also I think maybe it feels like Older and Wong are spreading the story around to more characters and ones that resonate better with me. A lot of it is that I feel like Older is a little too close to Ram's character and winds up making him feel like The Most Specialest Boy Ever, but putting him into smaller chunks made him go down a lot better for me and I found his struggle to connect with the Jedi younglings versus becoming attached to them (in the way the Jedi mean it/more Buddhist-aligned) worked well for me. I think the book still fits into the overall trend for me--mostly one of my lesser faves of the Phase, but with 2-3 absolutely BANGER scenes about Jedi philosophy that make it worth reading for. Now, on to Defy the Storm and I'm curious how this will go, I like both Ireland and Gratton's work, but I do get a little "...." at Ireland's writing for Avon, who I thought worked well enough in the first book but starts to feel like she's not allowed any real flaws because she's too special. I just want a little more variety with the heroes, to let them have some genuinely unlikeable moments to be relatable. (This is personal preference, I might feel different if these were established characters or I was more in the target range.) I also finished Young Jedi Adventures and I honestly enjoyed having it on in the background! It's very much aimed at a preschool audience, but it does so with charisma and charm radiating out of it in every scene. The voice acting is top notch, the animation is gorgeous, the character/setting designs are stunning, and I admit, I got a little invested in the characters over the time spent with them. To the point I'm kind of genuinely champing at the bit for a second season because I NEED Taborr resolution, YOU CANNOT END IT THERE??? I NEED TO KNOW HOW THIS TURNS OUT???? I NEED ANOTHER SEASON!!!! At least tell me that someone else is in the same hell that I'm in of wanting to see how that conflict plays out and getting weirdly invested in that little shit that just wants real friends. ;__;

Good Stuff: Hazbin Hotel

Welcome Back Friends, to the Show That Never Ends

I will admit, while I'm a fan of her overall work, after seeing the pilot I wasn't into Hazbin Hotel. Not that it looked bad, just didn't appeal to me whereas Helluva Boss was more my speed. When the A24 pickup was announced though, I was intrigued because its lacking appeal didn't mean complete disinterest in its potential direction, you feel me? The future is alive now and a full series is finally here, blindsiding you with more shades of red than your blood stream. And you know, color me impressed that we truly got to this point upon the unbearable avarice of online chaos surrounding the creator that had its fair share of critics upon an Everest mass of pisstakers. But I'm not here to rummage all that, I just want to finally review Hazbin Hotel at long last.

So let's start with the presentation

Maybe it's thanks to Helluva Boss, but I've always liked Viv's flair in design and color. Things get to stand out in a way that says yes, she owns it. This is the art of somebody who was THE regular at Hot Topic AND adjacent Spencer's, has an autographed Gir hoodie buried in her closet, probably read Revolutionary Utena or Rose of Versailles in school, and her dream was to bring that vision of her childhood to life. Vaggie I say is my favorite design wise, major pilot improvement where the red and black compliments her cream and grey colors. Can things all look busy and disoriented? Of course, never to an eyesore degree but there can exist... garish clashes, like you're wondering how the boarders no less animators were able to put some scenes together. Then again, it's the rare time I can say "I've never seen anything like this" for a cartoon and it actually means something.

Needs more furries though, we can never have enough Broadway studded furry characters

Storywise, I think will be hard to follow unless you've seen the pilot, which is thankfully still online. Episode 0 I say better introduces the characters and whole initial feeling of the hotel's existence since Charlie introduces it to the citizens of Hell first. The structure of this season I was pretty lost on until I found that good ol' "Monkey connects it to another show to make his point" lightbulb. This is that kind of series that unravels as you go along, so if the first two episodes aren't your tea then you oughta drop this show, or not and "hatewatch" like the sodomite you'll become in your 40s. I was reminded of The Bear or Silicon Valley in that it's not about running the titular hotel but the characters getting it together before operations truly start. Charlie has her goal and deadline, and it's all a methodical stream of how bad or good things can turn out for everyone involved. It's story driven but more focal on the characters, if you follow. Speaking of which, let's finally talk characters... and how they're my biggest issue with this series.

Except Nifty. I can never hate on gremlins

I'll say with the characters, it's NOT that their scripts consist "just of swearing and sex jokes". Whether or not the case, this is me we're talking about. El Superbeasto is my all time favorite adult animated movie, and the Hellverse is tamer by comparison. Won't knock points because humor is "subjective", but I'm never gonna act like I'm above the large swear counts or thinking of the nasty every other minute and beyond the first episode, they lessen the excess. The no shits given humor of Viv's work still feels refreshing.

Trust me, nothing Adult has trumped the champ yet

My real issue is something I've realized for Vivienne's shows overall: she's not great at making... flexible characters, lack of a better term? What I mean is that when they work, they work purely in service of the stories, its gags, and it's hard thinking about them outside of their shows if we don't count the porn and memes. They're not static, but I think too symbiotic to the narrative. That's where the dominoes start because being inflexible means they have to be more compelling and if they're not, then the story falls apart. And yeah, Hazbin's characters aren't as compelling. I like them, but I'm not invested in them. The crux of this is that while the pacing can fly, none of the characters provide that snappy dynamic you would get with an ensemble. With Helluva Boss, you could throw Blitz and the crew in different scenarios and it's engaging enough just seeing them run amok. A pinchful of episodes and the Hazbin crew don't really do it for me beyond the occasional gag and piecing clues about them together. The musical numbers are great character moments in their own right, like everyone of them are actual bangers, but for only two an episode they are doing the heavy lifting. Again, it's that type of show where every piece comes into play one at a time, so it's conflicting where I want to be into this series but I'm not that into it.

Charlie also makes it somewhat worth it; infectious enthusiasm is my kryptonite

I overall can't fit this show in a box, and I frankly didn't want to. You think I went into this cartoon cavalcade, radiating with juvenile fujo theater kid energy, about a bunch of sailor mouths that can sing gospel from heaven AND hell and have everything click? It's not possible, but that's what I can respect about this and Vivienne overall. This show doesn't posses a "fuck all of you" type feeling, but an "I want to do this, you can join or go" feeling. Not everything works, but it's meaningfully experimental in a way that somehow makes it meta. Like Charlie and the Satanic Panic Plaza, nothing about this should've functioned, this shouldn't have had any saving graces and got left obscurely on Youtube, but it could and many saw that regardless of how well they're able to express. Viv actually committed to seeing this through and this speaks a lot about creators who put in to an non-compromised vision.

You could say, it's always about finding that one person who gets the joke

From the fractions of episodes I got to watch, I'm unsure if this is a hidden masterpiece or a disasterpiece of storytelling or if it's just okay. I don't know if the show's team can stick the landing, but the fun in her work has always been the journey. She put in the effort since way back for me to give her stuff a chance, to actually review Hazbin Hotel earnestly as opposed to belittling things which would've been easy. To conclude, with all its flaws this is enthusiastic, fascinating start to an otherwise predictably unpredictable year that's leagues better than the Velma series because I actually want to see where season 2 goes.

I'm just glad this finally exists, regardless of the hell it took to get here

my overall little thoughts on HW2

I think Steel Wool did a wonderful job with most of the models here, bots like Baby and Ballora and Lefty and Scrapbaby look amazing

They're really getting there!

Love that this game functions as a bridge, during and after Security Breach but just before Ruin- like don't get me wrong, i'm also starving for answers after Ruin, however not immediately charging into the next big chapter and instead letting this game be a.. "small clues here and there and having some fun time at the plex before we have to leave it behind" situation was the right call

Let's talk about the animatronics for a hot sec, my mind is so full of them

I'm a Sister Location truther, so having this many levels with my favorite murder machine gang is giving me extra serotonin

Did not expect Yenndo to show up, like at all, it makes me so ridicoulusly happy

The Bidybabs and Minireenas had their time to shine as well, and BALLORA!! Missed her so much in Helped Wanted but she's here now so can't complain anymore

The ice cream moment with Baby was so oddly... bittersweet? Still have to digest that one, honestly. Oh- and the voice line about how she doesn't want to leave because it's safer here (the Sister Location bunker) stood out to me, it feels so.. Fazbear Entertainment altered, SHE WOULDN'T SAY THAT, YOU CAN'T FOOL ME

They brought back Ennard and i can't be happier, thank you for thinking of us starved fans. THO his model is pretty off, and his eyes not being the right colors really bug me, STILL i'm just gonna enjoy my food, thank you

Loved Glamrock Freddy's mini game and voice lines so much, he's sooo

And that hot comment- they know. They know us.

Gotta adore that they made Glamrock Chica sillier and more endearing. Is it just me who finds her super endearing here, like her little mannerism and how she's watching us make f- no? Alright.

Showing us how Roxy got her mask she wears in Ruin was so clever, now people can stop complaining about how "her endoskeleton does not look like that"

Suspiciously no separate Monty mini game, i know we had the mini golf one and the shooty one in Ruin already, but come on please

While he wants kids to have fun creating and playing he expects perfect work from YOU, an employee. It's your job after all. He gets irritated if you misbehave or make a mess, it's pretty in character. He's impatient and rushes you. He talks so much smack.. and yet you can'tdeny he starts out giddy. The giddiness fades when you start making mistakes. BUT he also doesn't actually want to hurt anyone for no reason (gestures at the last arts and crafts level) Not gonna repeat my previous rants, but yes, he's perfect

Jack-O-Moon's design is so pleasing, people yall know what to do

Very fond of Carnie, don't know why yet but i'm sure i'll figure it out eventually and this mouse is gonna be pretty sad if he turns out to be a one-off character-

Glitchtrap only popping up here and there because his influence weakened is cathartic, i'm not gonna stop thinking about it any time soon

The whole Princess quest segment was so cool, i'm glad it went down the way it did. Cheered when Vanny crushed Glitchbastard, yes queen

Five nights at Freddy's movie review

Spoiler free version:

I finally saw the FNaF movie (since it premiered here like a week later) and I really wanna talk about it.

It was fun. It's its own story that has some similarities to the games but it works well on its own which is a good thing imo.

It has a good pacing and I didn't get bored.

There are bunch of hints and easter eggs in reference to the games, like a guy is wearing a Midnight Motorist sweater or a dinner is named after Sparky the Dog, a hoax in early fnaf days.

It has violence but it's not too gory, most stuff happens off screen or in shadows.

I also liked the final solution, it was well established.

I do have 2 complains

1. I think most relationships needed more establishment.

2. One character kinda confuses me on their motive.

Overall I'd give it 4/5, though you'll get more of it if you're a fnaf fan.

And some tips. Watch it at home if you can or pick a later date. The movie theater was crowded and I think it hindered my enjoyment.

When you see Sparky's diner, pay attention to the waiter. You won't regret it.

And wait till the end of all credits.

Spoiler review under the cut

I think Mike and Abby needed a bit more time together or thinking of each other to make the scene where Mike realizes how much she means to him more impactful.

I feel like we were told rather shown she likes her brother.

Same goes for relationship between her and aunt Jane. We're told once she doesn't like her but it isn't enough to make her turn on Mike believable to me.

And finally Vanessa and William. The ending implies she's scared of him but we never are shown why.

This segways nicely into my other complain. Vanessa feels inconsistent. She starts out as a friendly police officer who knows tad too much about Freddy's and is revealed to be William's daughter.

What I got is that she vaguely warns the guards of the danger but doesn't tell them what it is. When the animatronics are friendly, she just let's Mike and Abby vibe there but when she learns Mike used Abby to get info on Garrett's kidnapper (her dad) she forbids him from taking Abby there ever again. I'm guessing this is to protect her dad.

But I think we should have had a flashback to her childhood and maybe a scene where she's terrified of going to the pizzeria but the she sees a drawing of Mike and Abby a decides to help.

But enough about stuff I didn't like and more about stuff I loved, in no particular order.

Actors are all really great and they did a fantastic job.

The opening credits are in style of old arcade games, just like in fnaf 2. It genuinely made me so happy to see it.

The cupcake mauling a man was both hilarious and terrifying. You go Carl!

The animatronics are all really expressive, especially Chica, when she smuggly sends Carl the Cupcake to murder a man or when she winks at Mike. Or when Freddy was looking for Mike and tilting his head as if he were listening.

I almost missed MatPat's cameo. I was like: "I know that voice! But from where?" And then he said: "It's just a theory!" and I almost screamed.

I love that the kids have some significance. Even if they dont have names, they still have more to do than they ever did in the games.

Also, it's exactly 5 nights at Freddy's.

1 - Mike arrives and sees the Missing kids for the first time.

2 - Mike gets scratched by Foxy and Vannesa shows up to info dump.

3 - since Max is dead, Mike takes Abby there for the first time. He cleans up the place and Abby meets her friends.

4 - Mike takes Abby there a second time, Vannesa shows up, they build a Fort and Vannessa gets mad.

5 - Mike goes there alone and the movie finale happens.

I noticed the trailer was insanely misleading. Vanessa ends up in the hospital at the end of the movie, but the trailer made it seem it happens somewhere in the middle.

CoryXKenshin cameo was awesome.

The ending credits song is Five Nights at Freddy's by TLT. Woho!!!

And after all the credits roll, we get a few letters spelling out "FIND ME" like in SAVE HIM minigame from fnaf 2.

Theories:

I wonder what happened to Garrett. Is he fully dead? Or is he possessing something, like the puppet?

I hope the next movie is a prequel, maybe told retrospectively by Vanessa while some stuff happens in the present. And the third movie can be a sequel, maybe with older Abby being a guard herself.

Please ignore if you've already been asked this but can you talk about why you love brucas even more than dair? i ship both too and get why most prefer dair but brucas just gives me even more feels, there's something so warm, sweet and touching about them. i can't explain it but know that you'll be able to!

I mean, it definitely depends on the person. I think Brucas is controversial for a lot of reasons. It's common knowledge that they weren't endgame. Knowing all along that their reunion is just another detour to the supposedly inevitable Lucas/Peyton endgame and seeing Julian just overall being a more loyal love interest, it's easy to think less of the Brooke/Lucas relationship. Some fans struggle a lot with fictional cheating. While I don't like it and hate seeing it affect my ships, I mostly view it as a trope that's going to occur whether I like it or not. In real life, you never know for sure if a cheater is remorseful or has changed. But in fiction, you can get into their heads and see the POV. Basically, this is why I was able to get on board with Brucas during seasons 2 and 3. It honestly seemed like Lucas regretted his actions and was working to be better both for himself and because it's what Brooke deserved.

But needless to say, I agree with all of your points. It's nothing against Dair. I think their relationship was great for what it was. They're still one of my all time favorite ships. But at the same time, I'm much more attached to One Tree Hill than I am to Gossip Girl. The characters in OTH feel much more real to me. Brooke and Lucas are no exception. It's the classic opposites attract pairing. He's very introspective and sees the world in a very single minded sort of way. She's the life of the party and has never been taken seriously by anyone. Except Peyton I guess, but season 1 was kind of inconsistent where their friendship was concerned. Both of them deeply desire love and weren't getting the support they needed from at least one parent. There's this great chemistry between them that's pretty undeniable. As much as I hate to say it considering how badly things played out between the two in real life, Chad and Sophia vibed as actors. Lucas never saw Brooke coming. For him, it was supposed to be Peyton and only Peyton, the girl he'd been obsessed with for years. For Brooke, Lucas was initially just a potential conquest that was playing hard to get. But once they started to bond and truly get to know one another, it was obvious they'd gotten each other all wrong and had qualities that drew the other in. With Lucas, Brooke became more serious and in turn started to see that she was more than just her party girl reputation. With Brooke, Lucas loosened up and started to embrace life rather than being so judgmental and staying on the sidelines. It was Lucas's betrayal of Brooke and subsequent sketchy behavior that shook him out of this idea that he was somehow morally superior to the people around him.

In season 2, we see their friendship deepen. Brooke and Lucas confide in each other, sharing secrets and giving emotional support. When Brooke has doubts about embracing more worldly, empathetic parts of herself, Lucas is there to reassure her that she has layers and is capable of being everything all at once. Lucas falls in love with Brooke in a very beautiful, pure sort of way. Lucas knows that because of their romantic past, there's no chance he'll ever get Brooke back. And yet, she still loves him. As much as Brooke tries to escape her feelings for Lucas and the idea of love in general, she can't seem to let him go. Season 3 is amazing and frustrating for them in equal measure. It's like, the potential is there. At their best, they're emotionally connected and having a great time together. Lucas is doing all he can to earn Brooke's trust and prove he's deserving of it as Brooke is trying to accept Lucas has indeed changed and won't break her heart again. Midway through the season, it's clear both Brooke and Lucas see each other as their romantic future. They almost get there! But, by this point real life drama has gotten in the way and the writers are headed back to Lucas/Peyton. So at the same time, there's this part of Lucas that is unavailable to Brooke because the writers are adamant Peyton be this person for him. But even after their second breakup and Lucas supposedly confirming all of Brooke's fears that he secretly wanted Peyton over her all along, it never feels right or true. It feels as though Lucas settled for something simpler. Even though Brooke is supposedly incompatible with Lucas, it's her who wants to return to Tree Hill once she's found her success and eventually settle down with a family. Peyton wants the opposite, yet it's like the show repeatedly punishes and degrades Peyton to the point where, unlike Brooke, she desires Lucas over everything - even self respect. With adult Brucas, everything is so natural. They're able to open up to each other and relate to each other now that high school is behind them. The whole Angie arc and Lucas's involvement in it is one big tease. Because it's like, things could have easily gone that way. Lucas even considers calling Brooke to elope with him in Vegas mere hours after he comforts her in that same damn airport. So, I don't know. I love Brucas because they make me feel so much. I love what they inspire in each other. I love them for their potential. I can't help but be emotionally attached to this unfinished love story.

TL;DR: Brucas was fucked over by the narrative in spite of having amazing chemistry and development, yet somehow that's exactly the reason I'm so invested in them.

PLUST - Wataru Eboshi Main Story 1 - Walkthrough + CGs

Wataru's route finally came out in JP and I couldn't resist reading it, after a friend showed me a summary of it. It contained some of the drama I was expecting but I was still surprised by a few things! While PLUST overall is rather slowburn, Wataru is more taking steps a bit further. Though you know how it is when the guy shows you affection early - Drama is still about to happen.

It was interesting to see how they used his brother, though i'm not much of a fan of it. We finally also got to see his fan that was not present in the other guys routes.

Wataru is the leader of PLUST and a bit like the mum-friend of the guys, as he manages everything, cooks and has an open ear for them. However behind his mature facade he is also insecure. Since he's taking on all the talking to the directors, appears as a weather man in a weather forecast program on tv etc, he doesn't have much time to practice and falls behind, he also does not have a talent he excels in like the others and it starts to show in the statistics. Wataru himself thinks PLUST doesn't need him or they might be even better without him so he thinks about quitting (which was more than obvious in his censored bubble). He approaches MC earnestly to make her his fan, but there are no feelings involved at first. He greatly regrets this for the rest of the story as MC seems to shine brighter and brighter and helps him out of his misery to boot!

Eboshi Bros!

Kakeru makes his entrance next to Wataru as well and sincerely cheers for his brother. MC gets to work with both of them and Kakeru is a sweetheart. The good looks and fame certainly run in the family too as he's a famous soccer player. Compared to Wataru he is more forward and honest about his feelings, so he's giving Wataru a hard time when he gets interested in MC.

Special Collaboration Campaign - Tsugaru (Her Love in the Force)

If you unlock the SHE within the first few weeks after release, you are able to unlock a story where Wataru and MC meet Tsugaru in the streets. For a campaign story it has a decent length with 2 chapters. Wataru and MC are on their way to the shopping mall where they meet Tsugaru. MC is of course flabbergasted by both of them and the clearly tease her on purpose with it. Also YES Tsugaru messes up PLUSTs name in absolute Tsugaru fashion. He is just that bad with (band) names. He even mixes up Wataru with Claude who he met before and joined the fanclub of haha. But the story also has a more serious background as Tsugaru distracts them from going to the mall as there was a bomb warning.

To unlock it in time feel free to use this guide. You can unlock the SHE and the campaign story without hearts, you wont get the CGs however.

I thought this last episode of Ted Lasso was the best one all season, Brett Goldstein does seem to have a solid grasp of who Nate is and the flawed culture of the entire football environment - fans yelling at a guy to get out of a pub for wearing a different team’s jersey, players thinking physical violence is an appropriate response to to hurt feelings, etc. - and I absolutely loved that part of the episode…but the Keeley part really isn’t working for me. Keeley feels like she’s being written dumber than she used to be, not just inexperienced. Barbara’s social awkwardness is sometimes portrayed as something to point and laugh at, and her doing her job and questioning Keeley’s bad decisions seems to never end with Keeley acknowledging her point of view. Shandy’s entire thing. If this is all setup for a Keeley spinoff…I really don’t think I want to see it.

Idk if you meant Nick Mohammed has a good grasp on his performance as Nate or if Brett Goldstein is the primary writer for Nate's storyline or something, but I do think the show is doing an ok job so far showing the inner turmoil inside of Nate and how much he does want to go back to Richmond and just how much Rupert has gotten his claws in him. I didn't believe they could really turn this thing around last season, but so far I'm not wildly disappointed. I still think not addressing the racial aspects of Nate's existence as a character is a bad decision, but I also get that that's not the story they planned to write for him, ultimately I'm just disappointed that they wouldn't take the time to rework some things once they did colorblind casting and cast Nick. I did overall like most of the football stuff last episode, the Jamie and Roy training scene was great and even if they ruined it later I did like watching Shandy run her own shoot and the boys doing their little flirty spots was cute, I did also enjoy the Keeley / Jamie stuff as a Roy x Keeley x Jamie shipper who is very much living in the denial that it might happen

And also I agree. The Keeley storyline is 100% the weakest link this season,

I like all of the new female characters they've introduced, but the way they're writing Keeley and them is so awkward and clunky. It's cliche and feels very cat-fighty in my opinion and I don't enjoy that kind of stuff especially from a show that's done it's best in the past to subvert that kind of stuff so I'm really hoping that this is just the growing pains of an overarching plot thread about female friendships and the way the "Lasso" style of kindness is applied differently for a female dominated workspace rather than a male dominated one

I think the show is really bad at addressing any kind of systemic societal problem, once they utterly fumbled the bag with Sam's protest storyline which really should have taken up like an entire season's worth of conflict by writing it off as solved through one text message from his dad I kinda lost hope in the show being able to address anything more than the surface level social problems the very white liberal, but also well-meaning writing team wants to address, so I'll just cross my fingers and hope that they're going to subvert my poor expectations and flip everything on it's head

Personally, even if they didn't turn Keeley into this weird facsimile of who she used to be I don't think she's a character that can carry a spinoff. If they do a Keeley spinoff it'll last a singular season and be forgotten to the anals of TV history like Joey, sorry 🤷‍♀️

New neighbors Au - Wordgirl x Welcome home chapter 2

A few days have passed, being that it was the weekend, there was no school. So the Boxleitner family took time to relax and hang out together. Their parents had yet to come off of work in close to an hour so in the meantime they were trying to figure out what to do.

Well Bob decided to go raid the fridge for a snack. That left the three kids to ponder.

Becky, Chase and Blu sat on the couch. Blu had decided to grab her crayons to color a picture. Squeaky, who was out of his cage, poked his head out of her overalls pocket. The two older siblings frowned upon seeing the mouse, obviously they weren't too fond of him. After shooting them a glare he hid again.

"How about we watch something?" Chase said after some time of thinking.

"Yes! I think there's a new pretty pink princess episode now." Becky said. She grabbed the remote and flipped the TV on. Chase wasn't a fan of the show like his sisters and mom was. But he didn't exactly dislike it like his dad. Still, he figured it was better than nothing.

It turned out to be an episode they had already seen. However Becky asked to see it again. Chase could remember the entire plot. The main character and her unicorn got teleported to a pocket dimension of sorts. They met a group of fairies. Then there was an evil troll. Turns out the troll wasn't actually evil but lonely. The real antagonist had turned out to be one of the fairies who was friends with the troll. She tried trapping the princess in the dimension forever. Of course in the end good triumphed and evil was vanquished.

Chase was surprised at how much he actually remembered. But when you watch something for so many times you end up memorizing more than you think.

Blu came back after some time of drawing, tapping on her older siblings to get their attention. "I found a movie…I think." their younger sister piped up. She held an old looking VHS tape, looking at it curiously.

"Hey isn't this one of the items from the antique shop we visited a few days ago?" Becky asked, peeling her eyes away from the TV. She examined the tape. Sure enough it was.

"I don't remember buying this if I'm honest" Chase said with a small shrug.

"Can we watch it?" Blu asks. "Please?" Just like their dad, Chase was not immune to the puppy eyes. So the siblings found themselves putting the tape in the VHS player and pressing start.

They were each curious and excited to see the old show. Not knowing much about it aside from its title they didn't know what to expect.

It showed a company logo before a black screen appeared. It was completely silent and still. The kids waited a couple of minutes to see if anything would happen…but nope. Still a black screen.

"How peculiar…" Becky says.

"What does peculiar mean?" Blu asks.

"It means something weird or something that confuses you." She explains. "Like how this is weird. You'd think there would be something on this tape…"

"Shhh wait…I think I see something." Chase said, holding a finger up to his lips. Her siblings quieted down looking back at the TV screen. There was a red rotary telephone just sitting there now. A yellowed four fingered hand reached out from the darkness. Silently spinning the rotary part failing a random number.

((( Ring! )))

The sound of their house phone cutting through the air, ringing caused them to jump.

Meanwhile the hidden figure on the television sat or stood (hard to tell with the darkness) patiently as if waiting for them to pick up the phone.

Answer the phone will you?

"It's probably just a coincidence." Becky reassures. Her brother nodded in agreement but yet he couldn't help that it wasn't a coincidence. "I'll go answer it in case it's mom or dad." Chase said after a few more rings. He went into the kitchen where Bob was still. The monkey seemed to be washing the dishes now.

With a small gulp, Chase picked up the phone. For a moment there was silence

"Hello…?"

"Hi?" Chase said. He didn't recognize this voice at all. It sounded clear yet old and static like it had been recorded at the same time.

"Hello neighbor!"

"Sorry I think you may have the wrong number." He didn't recognize this voice at all. It sounded clear yet old and static like it had been recorded at the same time.

"But how when I meant to call you?"

Chase got quiet. He glanced at Bob who looked at him back, worried.

"I'm sorry, who is this?" Maybe this was a prank call.

The voice on the other end was quieter now. "I can't say right now…"

"Why not?" Okay this definitely seems like a prank…still there was something off about the strangers tone.

"You like surprises don't you?" The voice then asked. There was a loud creak and thumping noise on the other end, the stranger puases. "You should get going…Home doesn't like to wait."

Chase tried to open his mouth to ask what the voice was talking about when the phone hung up.

BBZZZZZZZZZZZTTTTT -

the boy threw the phone down, his ears hurting from the loud static. Bob gave a questioning chirp. "I'm not sure what that was about…" Chase said, holding his head. His eyes looked at the doorway as his voice trailed off.

The living room was dark and silent now. Which was quite odd since it had been only the early afternoon. But how much time has passed? "Blu…?" Chase didn't hear a response from her. "Becky…?" Nor from the middle child. He got even more worried. "Bob?" The monkey held his hand, signaling he was still there. Chase sighed feeling a bit relieved, still he was concerned why his sisters weren't answering.

The TV flickered back on, catching his attention. As he stared at it, failing to notice red wires heading straight for him.

And that was the last thing the boy remembered.
