That Infamous Line - "Is it right? What I did?" Yes, Jon, it is & here's your validation

So in 8x06 we have this scene (which I swear feels like one of the reshoots to me but that's just my opinion):

And Jon says those lines that make no sense: "Was it right? What I did?" Tyrion thinks he's talking about Dany's death (personally for me, I think he meant the whole thing with Dany, including his "kind manipulation") and says "What we did." And Jon says: "It doesn't feel right."

(and this is obviously a scene echo/parallel to this jail scene earlier in the episode, but Jon is now in Tyrion's place and Tyrion in Jon's, right down to the shoulder touch)

But then a funny thing happens.

As Jon makes his way down the steps, we hear the theme we heard playing earlier in the episode when Tyrion was arrested by the Unsullied & escorted away while Jon looks back to find Dany staring at him. Then we hear the tones of 'You Have A Choice' starting to play in the background as Jon sees his Night's Watch guards and then moves past them, almost sounding mournful.

The theme gets a little stronger as Jon looks down at the boats in harbor (two together but no Targaryen banners flying). He then walks through the harbor, passing two Dothraki on his way. 'You Have A Choice' continues to play but becomes a little more subtle, not as strong. Jon slows down seeing Grey Worm watching him from above. The theme changes as Jon moves closer and Grey Worm glares down at him. Jon eventually breaks eye contact, keeps his eyes down, and walks past. An Unsullied soldier comes up behind Grey Worm to let him know all of the Unsullied are on board the ship. Grey Worm tells him that they are sailing for Naath.

This moment is important because Grey Worm and Missandei have been paralleled to Jon and Sansa before. So they're making this connection not only for Dany (for Jon) but also for Sansa, in that Jon is currently questioning the decision he made (killing Dany to protect Sansa). Naturally, we didn't need to know, in this moment anyway, how Grey Worm's story ended but they purposely chose to put him in this sequence and confirm that he was going to Naath for Missandei. While Grey Worm is not banished or being punished, he is choosing to go somewhere for Missandei. A distinct parallel.

Then we have Jon making his way towards the dock to the boat he'll be leaving on. As he gets closer, he looks up and stops, seeming surprised.

He takes a breath and then continues moving forward and we immediately see this:

Sansa is standing in clear view, set apart a little from Bran (with Arya on his other side). Sansa then turns and continues walking in the same direction Jon is moving towards presumably to meet him, with Bran and Arya behind her. (still having space there; if Bran is King of the 7K and the one Jon bends the knee to before leaving, why is he not first? Or Arya the sister he's closest with? Or why doesn't Sansa walk with Arya and Bran? Something to think about)

"I wish there'd been another way." (notice the editors chose to have this line play as a voiceover while she, Arya, Bran, and Jon all move to meet) The convo with Sansa is immediately first (just like she had been positioned on the dock & again as we see in the lineup of the Starks) and the editors put Sansa's closeup first. Even before we see Jon's face.

It is no coincidence that we went from Grey Worm thinking of/mentioning Missandei to Jon seeing Sansa first and then talking to her first btw.

I also think this opening line (the voiceover) is used because this is the current point of contention right now between them, what is hanging over them. For me, I think Sansa means not only the secret she told but also about him not being able to be freed.

Then, "Can you forgive me?" While this line she says calls back to their fireplace scene in 6x04, we also see Jon struggling to actually forgive her (as is confirmed by the script). He's not even looking at her until she asks that question and when he does, we see he's struggling. Some like to say that he hates her and blames her, but that's not the case. He doesn't hate her and while he may blame her for the decision he had to make (and possibly for telling his secret), he doesn't blame her for Dany's burning down KL or breaking up this great romance bs that the GA bought. Jon is hurting. Jon never wanted to kill a woman (as was told to the audience by him not being able to kill Ygritte before falling in love with her & not being able to execute Melisandre despite her burning Shireen and Davos' desire for justice). Especially a woman that he cared about, that he was kin to, in a family he had never known he had. But sure enough, we see him take a breath, gather his thoughts, and talk about the North.

He compliments her with "The North is free now, thanks to you." He even gives her the slightest of smiles. (and this also makes me think of what he ends up doing at the end of the episode; Tormund has said that the wildlings' home is the True North which he told Jon he has in him, almost like a play on the whole 'Truth' theme for his time with Dany btw, & Jon asks Tormund to take Ghost with him since he belongs up there & we know Ghost is a representation of Jon like Drogon was for Dany - so this makes me think while Jon is banished to the Wall and we don't see him leaving yet, it's almost a play on words - he wouldn't be free if things didn't play out the way they did)

Also notice how the music subtly starts up again after he says this line.

"But they lost their King." - once again Sansa haters, it was never about getting a crown for her

Jon gives a subtle nod and then says "Ned Stark's daughter will speak for them." Ned Stark's daughter -> because it all comes back to Ned & him making the same decision Ned did for both Sansa and Jon

"She's the best they could ask for."

And Jon sincerely means that. Which prompts Sansa to hug him. She holds on tightly, and we then see Jon struggle to not hug her back, but then he hugs her back just as tightly. After a moment, he lets her go and Sansa steps back.

He then turns his attention to Arya, and approaches, laying a hand on her shoulder. They have their conversation which is a callback to their goodbye scene in season 1.

And then we get to Bran. This is a sort of callback to his goodbye scene with Bran in season 1 but a definite contrast because we already got the callback in 8x01, Bran is now king, and Bran isn't really Bran anymore & Jon now knows that.

Jon then bends the knee, calls him "Your Grace", and apologizes, saying he was sorry for not being there when Bran needed him.

And from Bran we get: "You were exactly where you were supposed to be."

And we see Jon's reaction:

This line was so important because it literally is the answer to Jon's struggle. It was the answer to that jail scene line of "It doesn't feel right." This whole goodbye scene is meant to answer it and show Jon/the audience that yes, he did do the right thing. It might not feel right (since it's technically murder) but it was necessary.

So while Jon might still not feel 100% at peace with his decision, he just literally was given the reinforcement behind his decision, not only in Bran's line, but also in seeing/speaking with Sansa (the person he was protecting by making that decision) and hearing about Arya's plans. He saw all three of his sibling cousins poised to go off into another future. He did the right thing.

Also notice how the music which has gotten a little stronger as the time has passed for these conversations, has now gotten a bit louder.

And that's then reiterated by Jon immediately looking at Sansa once he gets to his feet and Bran continues looking at him.

He then looks at Arya which gives that vibe of looking upon them for the last time kind of thing, which makes sense. But then he looks at Sansa again:

Then he turns and leaves. The music reaches a swell and in it we hear the Stark theme. And now we have the order of who is forward reversed:

He doesn't need to wait 10 years to ask Tyrion. Especially since it's Tyrion. It's been proven by this turn of events that Tyrion thought he was very clever but not clever enough to not get fooled by someone promising to be everything he had hoped for. He even said it himself earlier in the episode to Jon. He's definitely not the person to ask, especially since he didn't kill Dany himself. Conspiracy, while still bad in itself, is not the actual murder. He didn't see the light go out in Dany's eyes the way Jon did. So "what we did" doesn't really work. Jon made the decision; Jon took the action.

Tyrion thought Jon was in love with Dany, just as much as he was. And while the two men were paralleled themselves and their storylines were intertwined at times, they were still very different. Tyrion thought he knew better, that he could guide Dany, he even says it himself to Jon. Jon listened when he was warned, specifically by Sansa. He did try to guide Dany, but only when it came time to protect others, especially his family.

Tyrion says that infamous line in Winterfell about Jaime loving Cersei despite knowing what she was. That was Dany for Tyrion. Tyrion only gave up on that love once he saw what happened to his family, because family was the one thing Dany couldn't come between, as is reinforced by the Starks and Jon.

So it makes perfect sense that Bran, who is the 3ER and is all-knowing now, would be the one to answer Jon's question that had been posed to Tyrion. Especially when we saw Bran's wisdom far outweighed Tyrion's a few times this season already.

It's no coincidence that they had 'You Have A Choice' playing during Jon's walk. It was his choice that was weighing down on Jon heavily the most. And it's also no coincidence that Bran is the last one to speak to him before he leaves, and he says that line.

These last two seasons were about Jon's choices (among other things). Jon's choice to tell Sansa and Arya about who he really was. Jon's choice to go to Dragonstone. Jon's choice to bend the knee to Dany. Jon's choice (or lack thereof) to honor his commitment to Dany for the Last War. Jon's choice to tell the truth to Cersei in the dragonpit (which I still think he did because he couldn't handle one more lie since he was already telling another big one aka pol!Jon & he also thought he had to because that's what Dany wanted). Jon's choice to lead the group of men once it becomes clear that Dany and Co are going along with Tyrion's proposed plan in order to attempt at a truce with Cersei. Jon's choice to retreat in 8x05. Jon's choice to turn down what Varys was offering. Jon's choice to ask Tormund to take Ghost up north with him. And of course the big one: killing Dany, which effectively came down to: Sansa vs Dany, doing the same as Ned did or not, and Stark vs Targaryen.

So Bran's line answers Jon's question. He did the right thing.

I'm sorry, that's gonna be a really weird ask from one jonsa stan to another but I'm genuinely curious - is there any anti jonsa argument/claim that actually made sense to you? I'm really asking for the sake of, well, civilised discussion - because if there are arguments there ought to be reasonable counterarguments. And all that I see is the same tired old crap - "she's not his favourite sister" and "but they are relatives!" and all the other stuff. Given, of course I'm not hanging around jonry@ and jon@erys side of this fandom (dark things happen to any sansa and jonsa stans there) and have no idea if they have any reasonable metas. Or maybe if there was a moment that made you actually question possibility of jonsa happening in books? (once again - because I'm anxious like that - I'm not asking this to disprove something or make people question jonsa but because I wonder if you personally had this sort of experience).

No worries! I enjoy looking at things from different angles, so I don’t mind at all. Unfortunately, I haven’t read anti jonsa stuff that isn’t exactly what you described, so I can’t actually have the convo you want about this. I tried to go to some jonerys blogs but their anti tags weren’t what we’re looking for. There’s a blogger people view as neutral who other Sansa fans/Jonsas put on my dash, and a BNF who people I follow also reblog from, so I went over to their blogs to look around and they’re less rabid, but I can’t say they offered though-provoking pushback. I’ll share some snippets though, in case you’re interested.

There was the old "but their siblings" argument:

I, ah, I do not think Jon marries Sansa in any scenario. Regardless of biological relationship, they think of themselves as siblings. The people around them are also quite likely to consider them siblings or as good as, having been raised as such (see also Theon being accused of kinslaying over his apparent murder of Bran and Rickon). Nor do I think either would be in a rush to go back to the traditional “but the Targaryens practiced incest,” again considering that their society is strongly anti-incest. Jon and Sansa were raised together, in the same house, as brother and sister, and that makes a material difference.

But you know, raised as siblings and please nobody try the “but they weren’t close” with me, that’s so not true.

It’s interesting to see someone say they were close, that’s not something I’ve seen before. I suppose my biggest issue with this line of thought is that it feels true for a generic fantasy maybe, but hardly convincing when talking about ASOIAF? Martin wants to talk about incest. So far, we have all the bad, abusive variations covered. I think he’s gonna work some shades of grey into it the same way he tries to do with everything he discusses, and to pretend like he would never feels disingenuous to me. Even if he ultimately abandoned the initial draft, from the author’s mind came the idea of a Jon / Stark girl romance. He has entertained it. Secondly, Jon is a Targ and it’s reasonable to expect that to manifest somehow, or at least, for Jon to experience the fear that there’s something latent there. And third, if we’re gonna get a romance, I think Martin would write it with the complexity and inner struggle that he writes everything and fauxcest offers him that opportunity, not to mention all the parallels it would allow as well.

Let's see...I also saw that they object to the Beauty and the Beast reading of Jonsa:

And I've been searching but apparently I never posted the rest of my "Bear and the Maiden Fair" thoughts, but that's the in-world Beauty and the Beast story. Through that and looking at bears elsewhere in the story, you can track this idea of the beast not being a monster, but being perceived as one by society, an outcast, which is why the Hound, Tyrion, and Jon all fit the role/are related (in a way), and why Jon will be the final suitor or real bear/beast.

The next one, I’m just gonna post the whole thing:

I’m not sure if the best part is the implication that Jon/Dany (which they believe is inevitable) have what’s required to allow for “quick deep emotional connections” or if it’s reading the Hound insult and threaten and then finally put a knife to Sansa’s throat and deciding “romance! chivalry!” The Hound may be disillusioned, but the fandom has got to stop pretending like some of his espoused beliefs aren’t self-serving, a defense because he is a monster. We have Brienne and Jon showing us different versions of knights, true knights, so acting like the Hound is in the right is just bizarre.

Anyway, no, I’ve not read an anti argument that made me doubt it. I do doubt what Martin is aiming for at times, so I’ve vacillated between potential paths/endgames for them over the years, but the anti arguments generally are coming from a reading of characters and dynamics that’s disturbing to me which means I’m usually alienated, not compelled.

2. What's your total Ao3 word count?

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Game of Thrones/ASOIAF, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Naruto, X-Men, Star Trek, Record of Lodoss War, Sailor Moon, Harry Potter and several unpublished ones

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Almost all Jonsa, lol. - From Instep to Heel - A Violence Done Most Kindly - Wool and Tallow - Shepard Sees the Sky - Hallowed

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Always, but it takes me time. I used to be very secluded, still am sometimes, and it took me effort to reply to comments and build relationships and community. I don't want to lose that. It's also important to me that readers understand how meaningful even a single comment is. So yeah, every comment, I try.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Alright, so there's a lot of contenders for this one. I'm not even gonna try to list them off.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Probably either Interlocking or What Grows in Winter? I don't write a lot of 'happy' endings, I would say. Mostly I write endings that have either hope or closure, and that can come in a multitude of emotions, but those two fics are probably the most light-hearted of my works so I'm going with that.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Sure, but honestly, not nearly as much as I expected. I've never really gotten someone trying to get into an argument with me. It's really just those one-line trolls that mass comment on a fic out of nowhere with stuff like 'Die parasite' or whatever.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I do! I can actually say that now, lol. It's semi-recent for me, I guess. Considering how long I've been writing, at least. At the moment it's just het smut, but who knows what the future will bring!

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

Nope. Dislike crossovers, actually.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I'm aware of.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Several, actually.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

No, and I don't plan to. Don't think it would work well.

14. What's your all time favorite ship?

I honestly can't answer this. Like... honestly. But the two couples I've spent the most time actively writing for would be Jon/Sansa (Game of Thrones/ASOIAF) and Storm/Wolverine.(X-Men), so there's that.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

It'd be between Rocks and Shoals and Sheparding Men, but I'm more hopeful that I'd return to Rocks and Shoals. Both are Mass Effect fic.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Characterization and emotive language.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Setting and exposition, for sure. Also, paring down a scene, lol.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I've thrown in a commonly known phrase or two, but I don't like it being used regularly. There's too much variance on how to show translation in fic, and I find it often breaks the pace of the piece trying to do so, anyway.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Oh geez, thinking back, probably Xena? Though that was unpublished. First published fandom would be X-Men.

20. Favorite fic you've written?

Damn, that's hard. But I'm probably going to have to go with Reckoned from One Midnight to the Next for the way it changed my writing style going forward. Perhaps the most formative of my pieces. Close runner up would be A Violence Done Most Kindly though, since it's also pretty formative for me in how I tackle plot now, and I'm really proud of the intricacies in that one.

🇵🇸 🇵🇷🐢🏝️ i got tired of complaining constantly on my main blog (@thewingedwolf is me!) about how sansa and rhaenyra did nothing wrong and also i needed a way to organize my theories and stuff. yes i have read all the books. yes i have (unfortunately) seen the whole show. yes i have seen all of hotd as well. so here we go. my stances are this, so you have an idea what to expect:

i am a catelyn, sansa, brienne, elia, and rhaenyra stan FIRST and a person SECOND

i would die Gaemon Palehair, Lady Essie, and Sylvenna Sand, those are my canon OCs, and that’s why they’re my header.

Sansa and Bran are my favorites! I am a Sansa will be Queen in the North truther and a Bran will be the King in Harrenhal conspiracy theorist, It Is Heavily Foreshadowed In The Text and I stand on that!!

I'm well aware Rhaenyra has plenty of faults, I am simply saying that the greens (as in, the characters) do not like her because of her gender, and not for stuff she does that’s actually wrong, also, idc that she did all of that i simply think she’s neat.

Helaena really IS the one who did nothing wrong tho.

i am a Dark Daenerys believer. no, i don’t hate her - in fact, i really love her, although i do hate her show counterpart - I just think her arc is heading towards a dark path and being a villain protagonist is the more interesting route for her character.

House Martell will rise or I will piss in old man germ’s cornflakes.

I Will talk about the racism Dorne faces in the text and outside of it and neither your favorite house nor my favorite house is exempt from this. If you have a problem with that, keep it to yourself bc i do not care 🙏🏽

i multiship!! just bc i ship it doesn’t mean i think it’s gonna happen in the series, i just like the dynamic!!

i am in fact the annoying book jonsa truther they warned you about. i will Stay bitter about this. argue with the wall.

with that said, i also like theonsa, throbb, daemyra, laenyra, rhaewin, nedcat, braime, briensa, and a million other ones. faves listed here. several of them are dead dove-esque; what can i say, that's just george's style.

you decide whether it’s romantic or platonic when it’s an incest one, my opinion changes by the hour & im gonna fight grrm for making me think this much about incest.

i don’t like jonerys!!!!!! i'm sansan & sanrion ambivalent and i simply do not care about littlefucker like that. i would say i’ve thought positively about basically every other ship.

i’m in the middle of a reread, as of this moment (april 2024) i’ve kinda stalled on the beginning of a dance with dragons but i Have started a rewatch of the tv series as a form of torture.

i first read this series when i was 16 in like 2012-2013. i love to bitch about the takes i’ve seen. i sometimes reblog really old ass graphics bc they deserve new life even tho the creators are long since deactivated. i sometimes make graphics that look like they’re from 2014 bc we should bring that style back dammit i hate the typography movement going on rn.

big on tagging triggers so lmk (i’ll tag for all characters & major triggers but i’m fine with adding a specific one if asked and don't worry about it being a "weird" trigger - if sean bean's face or knives or wolves or whatever trigger you, i'm happy to tag for that!).

HONESTLY? thank you so much for only writing book jonsa 💘💘 besides the fact that it's not easy to find those fics i'm not really a fan of show!jonsa (sorry jonsa fam, i guess season 6 jonsa is kinda nice but it's still a no to me). so you're really a blessing soul to me! by the way i really love your fics and the last one you posted??? INSANEEEEEE

I'm glad you like my fics, anon!

I always feel a bit bad talking about how much I don't like show canon stuff here, when I know there's people on my timeline who are pretty dedicated to it, so I'm going to put it below a cut. I'm warning you now not to read it if you're gonna get offended by the fact that I might have a different opinion than you.

(**I guess I should say here that if you love show canon and show jonsa, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. It's just not my preference.)

Show!jonsa doesn't do it for me either as much. They had chemistry for sure, and I LOVE some scenes (them eating by the fire together!) but the characters D&D turned them into in the later seasons don't do it for me.

Let's see how many followers I lose after saying this: I'm not a big fan of "being violently assaulted turned me into the Ice Queen, Cersei 2.0 I am today" Sansa and the "so honorable I'm basically Ned 2.0 but now with added passivity" Jon. Like what did he do in the latter seasons? Scream in the general direction of a zombie dragon?

My biggest gripe with show Sansa is that there was all this leadup to her being quietly powerful & good at reading people & good at politics, and then Dany comes along and she openly, actively antagonizes her?? A woman with dragons who keeps threatening to burn down your home??

Don't get me wrong, they still remained two of my favorite characters in the show and the ones I was rooting for the most, but they aren't the book versions I fell in love with.

I honestly didn't even actively ship them while the show was airing, besides a casual, 'huh, that doesn't seem like a sibling relationship' and 'well it would make political sense for them to...' and 'wow they seem like the only two characters who even vaguely like each other'. I will say, the only time Sansa was soft in the latter seasons was with Jon, which was nice.

In general, I don't talk about my GOT opinions on here because I don't enjoy discourse with internet strangers (my IRL friends, however, hear ALL of it), and I've even seen some people in the Sansa fandom jump on other Sansa fans who have a dissenting opinion (not recently, though, but I saw it happen more than once when I first joined the fandom on tumblr. I remember seeing some posts about 'fake sansa fans' just because they didn't adore her characterization in the show, or preferred her book characterization. maybe I just haven't seen it recently because of all the discourse tags I have blocked lol).

But honestly, the asoiaf fandom as a whole has made it pretty toxic to have opinions at all, which is why I keep them to myself, or below cuts (I will make this post unrebloggable).

Hello,

I'm not sure if the hiatus is still on going or if you are back. I see that there are some new posts and was wondering if you can help me with a lost Jonsa fic.

The setting of the fic is the modern world, Jon and Sansa are in a relationship and they are not related.

The two of them are pretty kinky and are engaged in roleplay and some BDSM (I think), with Sansa dressing as various characters, such as schoolgirl. Theon accidentally sees Sansa once or twice in various costumes.

Robb is with Margaery and towards the end, there is mention of Margaery asking Sansa from what sex shop could she get some specific items.

Sansa is also confident, sure of herself and her likes/views.

Bryderswhale is a huge ass and kind of an idiot, but they're not a Jonsa.

I'll take your word on that because I'm not gonna go and check their blog.

Jonsas and hardcore Sansa fans are on the same category for me: fans that are apparently reading A Song of Sansa and Sansa. I have to interest to interact with them and I wish they wouldn't add their hate commentary on posts that are about totally unrelated characters.

I don't mind exchanging opinions with other asoiaf fans (and yes that includes Sansa fans who don't belong on the first category). I've some mutuals I've disagreed in the past on various fandom topics and I continue following. Because when you express a theory/opinion/write a meta you got to accept that not everyone is going to have the same views with you. I also don't mind getting anons disagreeing with me- as long as they are polite - for the same reason .

But when someone is rude or adds hate commentary on a properly tagged post then the only solution is to block them.

I wrote for so many fandoms over the years, but from now on I mainly focus and write for Game of Thrones, only Jaime and Cersei, tho I would love to write a full Jonsa fic.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

5. Do you respond to comments?

Yes, I always try to reply! I think it's important to thank people who took the time to read and leave you a comment. Also, it allows to engage the conversation with your readers, and I love that.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I would say "grieving for the living", because even if there is hope at end, Jaime is still dead so...

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Hmmm, maybe "all of us, intertwined"? It's not the kind of fic that get an ending, but Jaime and Cersei are def happy and thriving here.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Strangely no? That's what I was worried about when I started posting because *incest*, but I never got hate.

9. Do you write smut?

LOL Yes, even if it's a struggle to write it 😭

10. Do you write crossovers?

No, I'm not really interested in it? But I can always write an AU inspired by another world.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

As far as I know, no.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Nope.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

No, and I'm not sure I could do it.

14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?

Obviously Jaime and Cersei ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯ They gave me everything I wanted.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

THE BOARDING SCHOOL AU 😭 I started this years ago, and I have never been able to complete at least the first chapter.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Ahah good question 😅 I'd say the feelings of the characters?

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Gosh, the descriptions. I feel like it lacks poetry when it comes to the descriptions, and it's too bland.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

Hell yeah, I'm all for it! I'm French and I headcanon Modern!Cersei being fluent in it (and also in Italian).

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Buffy The Vampire Slayer (for Spuffy)

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

Either "give you my wild, give you a child" or "grieving for the living", I always rotate between those two, and I think I'll never top the work I put in those fics.

I was tagged by @jonsaslove and I feel so honored to be tagged by a fellow Jonsa diehard and Jonsa writer! If you haven't checked out their fics, doooooo it you won't regret it!

Favorite Color: black and green

Currently Reading: A Dance with Dragons (I know, I know!) but next on my list is Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler. I've heard amazing things about it and Kindred is a work of hers that I've read multiple times and is absolutely riveting so I'm excited to dive into another one of her works.

Last Song: Iron Man by Black Sabbath (lolzzz)

Last Series: the latest seasons of Stranger Things and Peaky Blinders. I've been a fan of both shows for years and I felt that the previous seasons of both of them were duds so I was happy that the PB one didn't suck and I actually really loved S4 of ST (I even went down an Eddie Munson brain rot rabbit hole of fics and I'm struggling to get out).

Last Film: Outlaw King (2018) It's been on my to-watch list for years and I finally watched it recently and it's so good. Like, it's a very good film IMO and apparently pretty accurate according to some historians on youtube

Sweet/Spicy/Savory: I've gotta say the same as @jonsaslove because I'm a huge foodie. I love all three, buuuuut I really love to bake and I'm honestly really great baker (it took me yeeeeaaarrs to admit I am good at anything so let me have this), so maybe sweet???

Currently Working On: oooooooooh boy do I wanna finally let the cat outta the bag?! I don't wanna jinx it!?? It's been literal years since I published anything on A03 and it's honestly bc life has not been kind to me the last few years and I've had ZERO time to write, but a few months ago I got a really great idea for a sort of modern jonsa fic based off of a movie I loved as a kid in the 90's and I want to complete it before I start publishing and that's all I'm gonna say about that... I ALSO have a part 2 of my one shot (WTBMB) that has been sitting in my google docs for a very long time and I need to just bite the bullet and publish it already. Sadly, I don't have anything new for my first fic that is unfinished. I just... I cannot seem to find ANY inspiration for it whatsoever and I'd rather it go unfinished for a while or indefinitely than finish it in a way that feels rushed or uninspired or boring, ya know? And besides, it was my first fic and whenever I've gone back and read any of it its like cringe city in my brain.

Have you ever had like intense ship feels? If so for who? What lines of the dark tags will you never write? Ex. Grooming, breeding, CWarming,etc.

Yeah I answer pretty much everything lol! 🤷🏽‍♀️ it really is! We’ll probably do a vow renewal once I pop out a kid so no one can ever see they didn’t see it lol (our families are kind of spread across the country).

Honestly sterek (Stiles and Derek from Teen Wolf really just punched me the FUCK in the face.) From then, Jonsa caught my attention- I thought Kit was attractive, and same with Sophie but Nancy - well Natalia (she was in her short blonde leather interview phase) was honestly a sexual awakening so anyone I could write her with I did. I love writing and fic just became a huge outlet but yeah Sterek just UGH gets me every goddamn time like honestly ICONIC.

This is hard cause I used to think I wouldn’t write shit: I think that like- necrophilia, beasiality, race play, age play ( not including daddy or mommy kink), pedophilia, this is all I can think of off the top of my head but if a prompt came around I would definitely say I wasn’t okay with it.

I try to respond to comments because I am genuinely grateful for them! I love seeing what people enjoyed, what moments worked etc.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

yearn is def the angstiest thing I've written. I don’t like to write about Sansa suffering 😭

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

All have happy endings, but I guess my longer ones tend to be...sorta entrenched in what the characters have been through, so I'll say Jon Snow Wants to Marry Sansa because it is very silly/cracky the whole way through which makes it feel the happiest.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Oh yes. Angry people are always looking for ways to make others miserable too. You sorta get used to it. 😐

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Not really. I'd like to do more, but when I try, I delete it because I can’t stop cringing 😂 I dabbled a little with it for Bastard tho 🔥

Dialogue, maybe? I usually have a line I really like and build from there.

my dear anon, as much as the specific kink i'mma bring up is not my thing:

sansa looks like catelyn

sansa really looks like catelyn

sansa also treated jon not exactly great because she was the one who caught up on the fact that catelyn wasn't his greatest fan

jon has the mommy issues of the millenna

jon really has the mommy issues of the millennia

they have to meet up again reconnect etc etc and she would automatically feel guilty that she treated him badly and he would be like oh f she looks like her mom but she's actually nice to me this does not compute

they think they're siblings and anyway the moment the cousin thing turns up it's not really... going to change it as I said

tldr: if they had that kind of feelings for each other it would be a feast of messed up dynamic where they're both absolutely aware that they shouldn't be doing that, there's the aforementioned mommy kink in spades or at least the catelyn comparison is there all the time and if they had sex first he'd bottom second no fucking way it wouldn't be a factor and they'd both feel guilty as hell every single second of it but he'd be like oh I'm getting what I never got from her mother and she's be like oh I treated him like shit for so long why wouldn't I do that if he needs it but like I wouldn't count it as healthy kink exploration or anything of the kind

now considering that not counting the jon/cat stuff written in the year of the lord pre-adwd there are like uh two j*nsa fics tagged like that but they're modern au and absolutely ignore all that background and that when it comes to that kink there is one canon not with cat which was by yours truly and with ygritte I doubt strongly that anyone is going there ever but if j*nsa were to be not like gen siblings imvho that is the way it'd be bound to go but again no one is ready for that conversation X°D
