Why were they so stupid?!

Half hidden in the waters surrounded by debris, death, and destruction, you watched in aggravated frustration as your two brothers ran further inside the sinking, burning ship rather than away from it - which was the original plan.

With a hiss, your fist slammed against the water as if that would work out the gnawing worry in your gut. With a determined click of your tongue, your ilu swam towards the ship, and with a similar jump as Neteyam before you, hoisted you into the air as you landed on it in a crouch, ears flickering for any sound before creeping forward and the same direction as your siblings.

If the soldiers didn’t kill them first, you would make sure to end their foolish asses the moment you got your hands on them.

Neteyam had always considered himself somewhat brave despite the brief moments of self-doubt. But in situations like now, where Lo’ak and essentially Spider’s lives both relied on his ability to protect, a side of protectiveness he had never felt before made its presence known.

Forcefully pushing away his own fear aside and steeling his insides, he rushed them forward hastily towards the opening of the moon deck. But the approaching footsteps had his breath frozen, seconds later followed by the bullets as instincts pushed him into action and he shielded the two boys against the wall and out of the zone.

It felt like his heart had stopped in his throat for a good moment before he dared to peek out to check, only to hear the sound of a choked scream and a body thumping to the ground.

The three of them visibly jumped as you skidded to a stop in front of them with wide eyes. “What are you doing? Go!”

They all jumped into action at the command, rushing towards the water as you took up the back with the machine gun held ready at your chest. Neteyam could only run, hearing the way you sometimes stopped to shoot at any incoming threats before returning to his back.

“Faster!”

He heeded the command without question, pumping his legs faster than ever before and the moment the railing came in view Neteyam jumped as his life depended on it, cause it did. The water had never felt more like a relief to him as he made sure to stay safely under for a couple more seconds to avoid any incoming bullets before resurfacing.

The moment air hit his skin he omitted a harsh hiss, snapping over to see a graze across his right bicep, oozing blood every few seconds before being washed away by the seawater. “Fuck.”

“What’s up, bro?” Lo’ak was hanging on the neck of an ilu, worried eyes looking over at the sound of his curse.

“I got hit, it might need stitches.”

“Come on guys, let’s get going!” Spider urged them, hanging on to the same animal.

But a reminder froze him in place as Neteyam started to look around him wildly, water splashing as his heart started to thunder. “Where’s Y/N?!”

“She was right behind you!” Lo’ak’s exclamation, mostly out of sudden fear yelled back.

No, no, no. This couldn’t be happening right now.

“Are you two dimwits finished yelling so we can get the fuck out of here?”

None of them had been happier to hear that foul language until now.

Whipping around, all three boys let out a collective sigh to see your head floating a few feet away with an unamused arched brow.

With a click of his tongue, two ilu were quick to find them as they made their getaway swiftly, heading towards the flat surface of a bedding of rocks that looked a relatively safe distance away.

Jake was quick to join the group, an assertive gaze roaming over them to look for injuries and ruling Neteyam’s graze as the worst outcome.

“Man, that was crazy,” Lo’ak let out a breath, hunching over with a groan. “I’ve never had that much adrenalin.”

“You’re crazy, is what you mean,” Neteyam grumbled, pressing a cloth to his wound given by his father.

“You’re all damn crazy!” You snapped out. “Fucking leaping into an enemy ship to risk your lives - for what?! No offense, Spider.”

With a bemused smile, the boy offered two hands in peace not quite in the mood to further antagonize the oldest Sully sibling. “None taken.”

“Hey, at least we got away,” Lo’ak only grinned sheepishly at his older sister, using his innocence and minor favoritism card with the girl as Jake watched with a shake of his head, lips pulling up in a slight smile.

“Lo’ak, I will fight your a-”

One moment they were all bickering, trading snaps back and forth the safety of their lives seemingly secure with their departure from the burning ship in the background.

Then chaos ensued.

Y/N was standing, annoyed expression so very clear.

Then you weren’t.

Staggering to the ground with a muted gasp as Jake whipped around, eyes sharpening in seconds and locating the hidden sniper as his instincts came in, and within quick movements had the enemy falling into the waters with his own weapon.

Yet Jake couldn’t give a shit. His gun was thrown to the side, his feet having their own mind as he rushed forward just in time to catch you in his arms before you tilted face down.

There was no missing the clean through shot and blood oozing out frighteningly fast as he turned you around in his arms, head in the corner of his arms as Jake felt like his whole world just slipped out from underneath his feet.

“No, no, God, no,” He was muttering, before snapping at any of the children who would listen. “Press on the wound, quickly!”

Neteyam was the first one to snap out of his shock, scrambling and falling to his knees roughly on your other side as his trembling hands pushed down on the open wound, ignoring his own stinging pain.

His vision was blurry, nearly unable to see until he realized he was crying. Big, fat ugly tears filled his eyes until they nearly obscured everything.

Jake was looking around frantically as if hoping a first aid kit or something similar was simply laying around on a deserted slab of rock. A hopeless prayer for someone to save you. Help him save his daughter.

He had to find something, seaweed or something sharp to-

“Daddy, stop.”

He met your eyes, his own rapidly glazing over with wetness as he met your unwavering gaze.

“Y/N-”

You coughed, horror spreading as they witnessed blood coming out of your mouth. “It’s useless,” You breathed roughly. “-it a lung, I-I can feel it. Not much…time left.”

“Don’t say that, sister!” Neteyam growled. “Don’t you dare say it!”

“Y/N, please,” Lo’ak’s voice was a broken whisper.

“Flower, you have to fight,” Jake murmured, gently moving a wet piece of hair away before cupping the side of your face, noticing his own hands trembling as they touched your cooling skin.

“Can’t fight… something…alreadybroken.” Your whisper was a near-dead quiet, struggling for each word to leave your mouth. “I’m sorry.”

“Why are you apologizing?” Jake swallowed, the lump in his throat so large it nearly hurt. He had gone through grief numerous times in his life. On more accounts than one even bothered to sum up.

He had lost friends, family, brothers in arms, and nearly the love of his life at one point. Yet everything until now, had never felt more frightening until this very moment. There had never been a moment for him to consider truly losing one of his children - to watch one of them perish before his very eyes, before himself as a parent.

Because he refused to ever let that happen. In his mind, he or Neytiri would always be close enough to prevent that from happening on pure will itself.

Any other great deity could in all offense fuck themselves if that thought ever manifested. They refused to let it happen.

He had been only a couple of meters away. A couple, not even far enough to call it distance.

Jake had been standing right in front of his daughter.

And he had failed to protect you.

His guilt and grief all mixed into one big mess must have been obvious for even the blind to see, because your grip around his hand tightened, although weakly to what he was usually used to, catching his attention as his tears dripped down against your skin. “It’s okay, daddy,” his strong baby girl offered him a heartbreaking smile. “I’m okay.”

His dying baby was offering him comfort. The fucking irony.

“I can’t-” His voice was a nearly garbled mess, a completely new vision of himself in front of the children. Not that they cared. All three boys were too busy crying, reaching out to touch a part of you as if trying to feed you their life source.

“-you can,” Your voice sounded strangely firm. “You all can,” with a flicker to the rest of the boys, eyes lingering on your little brothers a few seconds longer.

“H-how am I supposed to do this without you, Y/N?” Lo’ak gasped out, nails digging into the palm of his hands. “I need you beside me, please.”

It was like Eywa had breathed new life into you for the last few moments of your very being. Granting you the strength and precious time to say goodbye to your grieving family.

“You underestimate yourself too much, baby brother,” You croaked, beckoning him closer with your weak wrist as he settled down by your head, your grip surprisingly strong as he bent down to lean his forehead against your own, eyes closing as you both soaked in the comfort of each other’s presence.

“You will do great and become even greater. I can feel it. Do it for me, okay?”

Leaning back with a hiccup, Lo’ak let his big brother have a moment with you as you nearly smirked up at him. Teeth slightly bloodied, yet not losing the fire.

If Eywa wanted to take you from the world, then she could. But you would be damned if you were leaving in sorrow.

“I hate you,” Neteyam’s words shocked those present, but the heavy emotion lacing them was hard to hide. You continued smirking, mouth easing into a gentle smile.

“I love you too, little brother.” There was nothing else to be said as he did the same thing as Lo’ak, pressing his forehead gently against yours before your vision returned to your dad.

“Mama…where is mama?”

As if called from the soul itself, the familiar screech of your mother’s ikran sounded, the noise feeling oddly muted as your eyes flickered around almost disheveled searching for your mother. Searching for the warmth of her presence.

“No, no, no, ma’ite!” Neytiri gasped, her very soul starting to break as she collapsed down in the same place as her sons made space for her. Frantically taking in your form, denial spread through her.

This could not be happening. Not you. Not her baby. No. Eywa, no!

“Hi Mama,” Your voice had turned soft, childlike with your face cradled in her larger hands, body still resting on your dad’s lap. “I didn’t want to leave without seeing you.”

“You are not going,” Neytiri shook her head adamantly. “You are not leaving me, my sweet.”

“I’m sorry, mama.”

“You are taking my heart with you,” Your mother gasped out again painfully, grip slightly tight on your face, but you couldn’t help but nearly chuckle. Because you could hardly feel it.

“I’m sorry.”

It was all you could say.

“Kiri-”

“Safe,” Jake finally croaked. “Your sister is safe.” He didn’t actually know, but Jake only wanted to offer you comfort rather than worries in your last moments.

“She will be pissed at me.” This time you actually chuckled. A small, painful hack. “Not saying bye.”

“She will understand.”

Your mother was still in denial, muttering prayers under her breath as you felt your heart shatter in sympathy. I’m sorry for leaving you so early, mama.

“Don’t let Tuk Tuk see me like this,” Your last request got the heartbreaking attention of your family. “She’s too young. Clean the blood-” a new tirade of bloody coughs fell over you. “-over the wound. Don’t let her see. Please.”

“Okay,” Jake nodded, a trembling smile evident. “Okay, baby. I won’t let her see. Promise.”

It was as if your last burden had left you, your body slowly relaxing against his own, eyes slowly fluttering shut, only open a smidge to gaze at the eclipse above their heads.

“I don’t wanna let go,” Lo’ak’s croaking whisper still managed you reach your hearing. “I’m not strong enough.”

You had no strength left. You couldn’t sound your words, your comfort to him. Only your eyes moving, trying to search for him in your half-dazed state, the pain slowly ebbing away. Neteyam’s hand gripped his shoulders, pulling him into his side, and you smiled.

He would be okay.

“I think I’m gonna sleep now, Daddy.”

A shuddering breath sounded, maybe several. You couldn’t tell.

“Let’s go home, Flower. I’ll take you home.”

You continued smiling. “Yes..that sounds good.”

And then you fell asleep, chest falling still as your eyes shut completely, your body lax in between the arms and warmth of your parents.

It's 1987, the same year the movie Dirty Dancing was originally released. 21-year-old reader is spending the summer with her dad and aunt at an all-inclusive resort in Indiana while she figures out what she wants to do with her life. After that summer, nothing will never be the same. Eddie works on the maintenance crew, he is also the frontman for the house band, begrudgingly delivering top 40 hits for the guests, and a secret third thing. When work is over, there is a completely different scene happening at a place the employees call The Hideout. Wayne is the head maintenance man, Chrissy is a metalhead, and Steve as a sexy, tattooed musician because I can't help myself. Also a few other surprises. Eddie is in his late 20's in this au, and all of the ST characters do not know each other in the same way they did in the show.

The old language: the alphabet and some patterns

from the books Dark Rise by C.S.Pacat

The old world holds many attractions for the readers: its mysterious history, culture, characters and language. There are inscriptions and phrases in old language in the books. At first glance, they look scary and inexplicable. Nevertheless, at second glance, the language opens up. In this analysis, I hope to show that the old language is amazing and share the delight I had researching it.

First of all, disclaimer. I am not a true linguist and, moreover, not Kettering, but a person who loves to find out patterns and tries to explain them. This article is just my theory, hypothesis and my point of view. It can be different from the canon.

There were phrases in the old language and their translations in the first edition of the Dark Rise. They inspired me to reconstruct the old language alphabet and to start my research. The inscriptions in the Dark Heir, the second book, proved the alphabet to be correct.

The alphabet

As I have already mentioned, the alphabet is based on the translations of the old language in the first edition. I will use one phrase as an example to explain a deciphering algorithm. As I have applied the same algorithm to all inscriptions, I will only mention other phrases in the old language to show the letters they contributes to the alphabet.

The phrases from the Dark Rise: Decoding the alphabet

Step 1: selecting similar letters

Here is the phrase “Rassalon the first lion”.

There are two S in “RaSSalon”; there is also S in “firSt”

Double S is between two A

The first word begins with R, and R is also present in“fiRst”

L — “Lion”

O —“liOn”

N — “lioN”

“...the First Lion”

T — in “The” and “firsT”

i — in “first” and “lion”

!(why “i” is small I am going to explain later)!

Step 2: non-repeating letters

New letters: H, e (!) and F.

Other phrases

He is coming (Dark Rise, chapter 11)

New letters: C, M, G

I cannot return when I am called to fight So I will have a child (Dark Rise, chapter 2)

New letters: U, W, D, V, I(!)

I and i are different. In my opinion, it might be because “I” is a pronoun.

Enter only those who can (Dark Rise, chapter 15)

E and e are different. Perhaps, it is because “E” is in the beginning of the word “Enter”.

The horn all seek and never find (Dark Rise, chapter 15)

The phrases from the Dark Heir: Proving the alphabet relevance

There are also inscriptions in the Dark Heir. If I use the same strategy here, it does, here are the proofs.

The first proof

One of the inscriptions is the name Undahar. Names are not translated. All letters in Undahar match the letters of my alphabet except U. It turns out to be V in the previous inscriptions, so I will write two variants U/V because I am not sure which one is correct.

The Eclipse/Finem Solis (Dark Heir, chapter 26)

The second proof

Here is the phrase: “He is coming.”

(Dark Heir, chapter 2)

Although there is one unknown letter, we can identify it by using the similar phrase:

He is fighting — Ar ventas

He is coming — *r uentas/ventas

The new letter is A. I think this A is different from the regular A because it is the first letter of a pronoun. Pronouns start with capital letters to avoid confusion with other words that include “ar”.

The result: alphabet

Of course, I admit the possibility that not all letters comply with the original alphabet as it is in the U/V case.

Issues in deciphering

The same phrases in the old language are written differently in the Dark Rise and the Dark Heir. I do not know whether it is due to errors in the first two editions or it means something else.

The structure of the language

There is more to the old language than the inscriptions. Here are my thoughts on the other aspects of the old language. The old language is likely to be the parent language to all languages in the books, the language from which modern languages have derived. The old language has similarities to Latin and Sanskrit, borrowings from Sindarin, Quenya and some unidentified languages.

Vocabulary

Analyzing new information, I have found patterns that helped me to identify word classes. The word classes of the old language are shown in the table below.

Data summary sheets

Most nouns end with “ar”, but there are two nouns that end with “or/er”. The pattern is pretty apparent, so I am going to discuss only the nouns that do not fit the pattern.

Aladharet and adharet

My suggestions about meanings and forms of the word “adharet” are based on this dialog:

‘He said, ‘I am not aladharet.’ <...> ‘I cannot do magic,’ he said. ‘I have never trained with the’ – there was no other word for it – ‘adharet.’ <...> ‘I only know what I have seen, watching the adharet cast spells as I fought to protect them.’ (Dark heir, chapter 38).

There are two variants of the word: aladharet is singular and adharet is plural. Perhaps, “al” is the marker of a singular form, I would no more touch on single/plural forms because we do not have enough information.

The closest meaning from the context is a wizard /enchanter. This noun is interesting because “ar” is in the middle of the word. I think it is a verbal noun (a noun derived from a verb), such as spell – speller, enchant – enchanter.

Kishtar

According to the book, “Vara kishtar” is a shadow hound. “Kishtar” is highly likely to mean a hound or hounds. (Chapter 21)

The root “Kisht” means field, sown-field, tillage, cultivation, (at chess) check in Sanskrit. Of course, the meaning of the word in the old language is different, but it is still quite an interesting coincidence.

Similarities to Latin

There are some Latin names in the books like “Finem Solis”. Besides, some words in the old language are very similar to Latin (see the examples below).

“Callax Reigor” (The Cup of Kings) (Chapter 46)

“Callax” reminds Latin “Calix” (the Cup).

Reigor (Kings)

The root “reig” resembles the Latin root “reg” in “regio,-are”, “regium” (to rule/ royal).

Valdithar

English translation is “dauntless”, it is the name of Sancean`s horse. It has the ending “ar”, probably, because this adjective plays a role of a noun as abstract adjectives can be nouns in English. Synonyms of the “dauntless” are valorous, valiant. They derived from the Latin word “valens” – strong, powerful. This meaning of “val” seems to be suitable for Valdithar as well.

Similarities to Tolkien`s languages: Sindarin and Quenya

As some readers know, C.S.Pacat is a big fan of the J.R.Tolkien, so I decided to compare Tolkien`s languages with the old language and found out some borrowings from them. Several names look like Elvish words in which some letters are altered.

The ending “ion” is typical to Elvish.

Anharion

He is the Light’s greatest fighter who served the Sun King. That name consists of two parts: “Anar” is the Sun and “ion” is a son in Elvish. The sound “h” is pronounced with exhalation, so it might be omitted. Anharion means the son of the Sun in this case. In addition, the name was given to him by the Light side (the Sun King) and it is not his true name.

Ekthalion/thalion

Ekthalion is the Sword of the Champion.

Although “Fermaran, katara thalion” (Dark Heir, chapter 29) does not have a translation, “thalion” is a hero/a dauntless man in Sindarin. In my opinion, the coincidence is not an accident. “Thalion” is the part of the Sword`s name and the meaning seems relevant in context of the books.

Moreover, Ecthelion`s fate in the Silmarillion is quite similar to the fate of the Sword. Ecthelion slayed Gothmog, Lord of Balrogs, at the cost his life. The Sword`s fate is described in the book as follows:

…As a weapon to kill the Dark King. It’s said that a great Champion of the Light rode out with it to fight him <…> but could do no more than draw a single drop of the Dark King’s blood. That’s all it took to corrupt the Blade… (Dark Rise, chapter 13).

The name Ecthelion had its own evolution: its Qenya cognate was Ektelion.

Another thing

Veredun

One of the characters mentioned this name in the following dialog:

‘This isn’t my first time at sea.’ Visander <…>. ‘Atlantic? Pacific?’ ‘The Veredun,’ said Visander. He looked out at the night expanse of black water. This did not feel like the Veredun, or like any sea he had known (Dark Heir, chapter 34).

Names are not translated, but I wanted to know more about this old world sea/ocean. There is no word which is exactly the same in any language relevant to my research, but there are analogs to its parts.

Vere/verus is “truth” in Latin

Dun is “dark/deep/gray/gloomy” in English

Dun is “West” in Sindarin

My translation is “The deep truth” or “The dark truth” or “The West truth”, but I do not pretend to know the truth.

Verbs

All verbs that we know end with “as”.

Aragas

Aragas means “open” in the old language. I have not found any Latin roots. However, separate parts of this word exist in Sindarin: “ara” is “royal” and “gas” means a hole/gap/opening. Aragas is used for opening gates that connected the Kingdoms, for opening the oubliette under the Sun King`s throne and in the metaphor of opening the door of the Dark King`s magic. All these cases are associated with something “royal” and “opening”. I might have gone a bit too far here and read too much into it.

Ar ventas

Ar ventas – He is fighting (The translation from the text, Dark Heir, chapters 27, 29)

Ar uentas/ventas – He is coming (The translation of the inscription, Dark Heir, chapter 2)

There is a possibility that these verbs are borrowed from Latin. The root of the word “uent” is the same as in the Latin verb “uenio/venio” (to come). Thus the ending “as” indicates a tense and a person (is coming). My guess is that V and U are interchangeable in Latin. Therefore, “ventas” means “is coming” and “is fighting” at the same time. I think “uentas” is right, because U turns into V.

Vala!

One of the characters used this word in the following dialog:

With a tug of her horse’s mane, she [Visander] said something that sounded like Vala!, and they burst out of the stable doors (Dark Heir, chapter 21).

I think it is the command “walk/run” for a horse and the verb could be in the imperative mood. In my opinion, there is a parallel to Latin. Singular imperatives are formed by removing the ending “re” from verb roots, for example, monstra̅re (to show) – monstra (show). Nevertheless, “Vala!” could be another command, e.g. “gallop/forward/ahead”.

Adjectives

I think the ending “ra” indicates adjectives. Valdithar looks like an exception, but I think it is not an exception because it is a noun (see the section about nouns).

Vara

The translation of “Vara kishtar” given in the books is “a shadow hound” (Dark Heir, chapter 21).

It also means “soiled” and “dirty” in Quenya. As far as we know, “Vara kishtar” is a creature of the Dark side, and all shadow creatures could be “soiled” in the Light side`s opinion. By the way, there is the Sanskrit word “vara” that means “the best, excellent, the eldest”. The meaning is opposite to the meaning in the old language, but the Dark side could use the word differently.

Katara

“Fermaran, katara thalion”(Dark Heir, chapter 29).

Katara ought to be an adjective because it ends with “ra” and because of its position in the sentence (before a noun). The text does not give a translation, so I decided to consult dictionaries.

Latin and both Elvish languages did not help, but Sanskrit has the adjective “katara”. It has several meanings:

Which (of the two)

Mean, poor, miserable

Timid, shy/cowardly, cowardly/fearful

I have never mentioned Greek before, but it also contains “katara”, but as a noun: κατάρα is a curse or a calamity/disaster.

Other observations

I noticed other patterns as well, but I need more examples to confirm them.

Structure of sentences

Like in English, a subject goes before a predicate:

Ar ventas – He is fighting

Ar uentas – He is coming

An adjective precedes a noun:

Vara kishtar – a shadow hound

Katara thalion – a shy hero (?)

My own hypothesis

Old language adjectives agree with nouns in gender, case and number.

There is evidence that verbs conjugate and have different tenses. So far I managed to identify only one verb form (continuous, third person, singular). I suppose that the inscriptions contain other verbs as English translations provide other verb forms including modal verbs, various tenses and person.

The reconstructed translation

Only one phrase from the Dark Heir has no translation: “Fermaran, katara thalion” (Dark Heir, chapter 29). We know the hypothetical meanings of the words from the analysis, so the translation might be reconstructed.

Fermaran

Ar ventas fermaran (Chapter 27)

Ar ventas, fermaran (Chapter 29)

In this case, “fermaran" is not used to address someone because there is a variant without a comma. Catalan has the verb “fermar”. It means “to stop”. The form “fermaran” is “they will stop” in indicative future, plural, third.

The reconstructed phrase goes as: “They will stop, mean/timid/poor hero”. It can fit in the context but it is still pretty questionable.

Inscriptions

Unfortunately, I have not achieved my goal to identify words in the inscriptions from the Dark Heir. As I mentioned there is not enough data. For example, the words we know from the translations such as the adverb “only”, the negation “cannot”, the modal verb “may” and the English phrase verb “cries out” remain unidentified. These inscriptions are still the Phaistos disc:

Only a Steward may enter (Dark heir, chapter 37)

The conclusion

Roots of the old language lie in Latin, Sanscrit, Sindarin/Quenya and, perhaps, something else. Four Kingdoms, four language families: Latin for the Sun/Undahar, Sanskrit for the Serpent or the home of the Lions, Elvish or unknown one for the Tower or the Rose.

I hope the third book will provide new data that will allow me to decode all inscriptions and get more profound understanding of the old language. Meanwhile, I am going to entertain myself with guesses, theories and attempts to decode the inscriptions.

like every time there were ropes or chains in bheem's hands or around his wrists it meant something, and it was a beat in the rhythm of a discernable arc, but now i can't remember all of them gdi

Inside Alphabet

Inspired by the NSFW Alphabet, I decided to create my own, with a slightly different function − to give our characters a better look inside their heads.

Often chapters alone don't manage to describe everything (the author also sometimes doesn't have the space or strength to do so) and it's also nice sometimes to establish certain things and canons from which readers can learn something interesting.

I decided to make one for my favourite characters and I'm also publishing it as a template, if anyone feels like using it for themselves, go ahead! You can tag me, I'd love to read how you use it for myself.

Jared is a character actor. People like to say character actors are "better actors" than personality actors, however there is a reason why character actors are usually not leads in movies or tv shows because most people actually prefer personality actors, which Jensen is good at. Jared is a character actor trapped in a leading man role.

Jared's first on the call sheet isn't a saving grace, it's facts, and it gets brought up more by Ackles Army than Jared fans. Why? Butthurts, Anon, all butthurts. You got to read this treasure. In the early days of SPN, AAs tried to downplayed first billings ....

AAs 2005: “The only reason why this Jared guy has first billing is because the ‘a’ in Jared comes before the ‘e’ in Jensen.”

The bitter AAs hate that the first billing t hing because it was evidence of Jared’s success at an earlier age than Jensen’s. The only reason why Jared’s fans bring up his first billing because they know how much it needles and aggravates the AAs who just won't let it go and keep bringing it up, if not more than the Jared girls do.

Jared fans stay in their lane when they're on a bash bender and don’t actively tag actors and their fans their hate. AAs (and Destiel hellers) aggressively and relentlessly tag Jared and his fans their hate. See the difference? AAs, minions, and hellers would go into Jared’s SM to send threats of violence and even death. Jared fans don't return the favor and stay out of actors' SM. Sure they’ll take screenshots to laugh about it in their own TL or blogs and tag it “anti”, but again they’re not sending their hate directly to Jensen. See the difference?

I've never body shamed Jensen what the hell are you talking about?

Whenever Anons tell me that Jared fans are just as bad as AAs and hellers, I always ask for receipts. I'm still waiting for them to pony up the receipts years later. Anon, you could be the first! That I’m pretty much out of ideas and I’m progressively getting tired of tnmn fandom

Originally I planned to do 1 comic drop and move on, but got stuck bc ppl liked tnmn comics and kept asking for more (and still do-)

Generally I don’t mind doing more if the ideas are there, but I want to address this: I’m tired

I know blowing up is usually a good thing and I appreciate people enjoying my stuff

But it’s exhausting to see that tnmn is the only type of content which is relevant, to the point that my own projects or stuff I enjoy are just kinda.. ignored

It’s fair – again my blog is heavily fandom based

(+Tsp were and still is kinda the focus)

But with tnmn fandom it’s a bit… different

Maybe I’m biased and it’s just my negative experience with tiktok comments

Again, I get that you can’t be in that neat bubble completely sheltered from negativity

Humans are just assholes by nature really/j

So I was expecting the backlash, but not that much

I think maybe tsp fandom spoiled me a bit (in a good way), bc I got a feeling that everyone in tsp was positive of any lgbt+ headcanons and just generally more supportive

(don’t get me wrong, there ARE problems in tsp community too, taking narrators design controversy into account as one of the examples)

Obviously every fandom always has it’s own issues, show me at least one fandom that didn’t have some sort of meaningless controversy or some sort of problematic people in it

It happens

But it leaves a bad taste in your mouth sometimes

And for me personally it only added to not so pleasant experience

The thing I also noticed, when I interacted with other fandoms

Ppl wrote positive stuff first and foremost, not really asking for anything

Here it’s just “hey more. I want more. Do more. Do this character. Do this. Do more.”

The only reason I kept doing more, because likes, reblogs, views – these comics get a ton of attention

there is a audience to please alright

But this thing comes with a pressure tho

and it shows

But I don’t want to, I’m forcing myself and it makes my art worse

I can give it my all to something when I’m passionate, but just “hey I’m getting attention” is not the best motivator

Attention like that does get to my head, I know that I will probably give in again and do more, bc I will compare my posts engagement

But what’s the point of recognition, when you feel.. so numb about it…
