Hey guys random but I wanna share this spinach pasta recipe I improvised the other day bc it's really east and tasty and a nice way to eat my greens... I've eaten it for the last several meals lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
sauce recipe (1 serving)
fresh spinach several(3?) handfuls (blended with sauce)
oat milk ~1/3 c (or a diff unsweetened milk)
small pat of butter(flavor) + 3 spoonfuls olive oil
lots of black pepper + couple shakes garlic powder (or minced garlic)
tiny pat of miso/deonjang (if u dont have it, just add more cheese, or some salt to taste)
Lots of pecorino romano or parmesan cheese (or both)
+
more handfuls spinach to eat w pasta whole, opt (several/3 handfuls; keep in mind spinach shrinks a lot when cooked) (cooked in microwave, with sauce liquid)
more cheese, black pepper, parsley etc for serving
Note: need a blender to make the spinach sauce green. I used a small bullet blender. If you don't have a blender, just cook and eat the spinach pieces whole alongside the pasta instead of blending it w the sauce, like an alfredo cream sauce.
With whole spinach pieces:
>combine sauce ingred in tall, microwave safe bowl except spinach & cheese; microwave 30 sec to melt butter/miso and mix thoroughly
>add several handfuls of spinach to the sauce liquid; this is the whole spinach pieces.
>cover + microwave for 1 min /until the spinach leaves are completely wilted and tender but still green
if u dont have a blender you'd be done here (microwave longer to reduce, add more cheese/oil to make it thicker, etc)
>add 2-3 handfuls fresh spinach into bullet blender and pour in most of the sauce liquid; Blend until fully broken down into a creamy green sauce. (add a splash more milk if it's not blending)
>combine w rest of sauce in the bowl; add cheese and microwave 30+ sec more uncovered (*i add cheese at the end bc it's harder to blend with the spinach)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Without whole spinach pieces (just green sauce): combine all sauce ingred Including spinach into bullet blender; blend until fully combined; transfer to bowl & microwave 1 min + longer as needed to reduce (uncovered)
Pasta:
> boil pasta in salted water according to directions (go a min under and test if its cooked, for al dente pasta)
> drain + return to pot, add the sauce + stir
note: if doing this method u can also make the sauce in the same pot instead of using a microwave; after draining the pasta, leave it in strainer, and make the sauce in the same pot and simmer... turn up the heat to boil + reduce as desired, then add the pasta back in and stir until hot. (If i was making a bigger portion for multiple ppl i'd prob do this)
USING LEFTOVER COOKED PASTA (this is what i did, bc i had made a lot of pasta a few days ago, and had the leftovers stored in fridge):
> microwave pasta by itself in a bowl/plate for 1 min, covered
> add the hot sauce on top of hot pasta (microwave first if it's not hot enough)
(^i microwave sauce + pasta separately to ensure the pasta stays al dente btw... if u microwave sauce with pasta it gets soft)
(If making large batches ahead I'd store the pasta and sauce separately for the same reason... I'd prob do the same thing I did, make a large batch of pasta and then make the sauce right before eating... I just hate soft pasta tho so if u dont then dw abt it🫡 lol)
> Top w extra cheese, black pepper, parsley and serve/eat immediately!!

Monthly Members' Fics — Dec 2023
Return to Normal by Jestemburakiem (Lithuania/Russia, Past America/Lithuania) If Tolys had no problem being America's maid, he should have no problem being Ivan's Or alternatively, the obligatory maid fic
Clean by mossy_man (Russia/Turkey) Turrus pwp of 1799. Contains fucking, fisting, washing.
something so flawed and free — Chapters 3 & 4 by hopeless_nostalgia (England/Japan) After a year of convoluted diplomacy, all fell apart and war was declared between Japan and Russia. "It might be a long while before we are able to meet again," Kiku writes to his ally. It feels as though the distance between them has become wider, and in the midst of this gale, the only way for them to communicate is through slow letters and short telegrams. A continuation of hide and seek. But I *think* you can understand this just fine without reading it.
Call To Alms — Chapter 8: Crash and Burn by DoomSpiral (Lithuania/Prussia, Lithuania/Russia) Gilbert Beilschmidt scrapes the gallows by the skin of his teeth--and promptly makes this everyone else's problem, as per usual. Tolys Laurinaitas returns to Moscow after the war only to find he has less of a grasp on his role at the estate, and his self control, than he thought. They make it through (hand in unlovable hand). Alternatively: After the second world war comes to a close, Tolys and Gilbert are forced to work through a graveyard of old memories, and reluctantly come to new terms with each other.
An Unexpected Reunion by DubiouslyKind (America/England) Alfred is a busy college student convinced by his best friend to attend a concert. When he arrives to see an infamous band play with Arthur at the head, he gets more than he bargained for - and the cost may be more than either of them were willing to pay.
Expect the Unexpected by DubiouslyKind (America/England, America & England) Arthur sees the garage lights on in the middle of the night. What he discovered was certainly not what he was expecting.
2:30 by Delgumo (Canada/Russia) It’s two in the morning and Matthew Williams has an important choice to make: To go home and watch TV or see his off-and-on (currently off) boyfriend. He finds the choice fairly obvious, however irresponsible it may be.
I Have A Better Deal by Skoati (Ketzexi) (Germany/nyo!Russia) Ludwig is a demon who keeps getting summoned by one human for the wrong reason.
A Gift For Italy by Skoati (Ketzexi) (Germany/nyo!North Italy) Germany got a present for Italy, but her reaction isn't as expected.
Muses by FangsofLightening (South Italy/Spain) Romano was searching for a muse. He found one in Antonio, and so much more.
Some Things Are Best Left Unforgotten — Chapter 1: An Object in Motion by DubiouslyKind (America/England) The son of a demon and a witch meets a fairy when he was a child. As an adult, they continue to meet throughout different lifetimes. Arthur cannot escape him or their complicated past, but he is unsure if he really wants to either.

30 DE AGOSTO, 26 ANIVERSARIO DEL DÍA MUNDIAL DE LA BANDERA (ukenyal) AMAZIGH.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media
ⵣ✊🏼ⵣ ¡Feliz día
de la bandera Amazigh!
¡Viva la libertad de la Tamazgha
y de todos los pueblos imazighen!
ⵜⴻⴷⴰⵔⴰ ⵜⴰⵎⴰⵣⴳⴰ ⵜⵉⵍⴻⵍⵍⵉⵜ!
ⵀ★☆★ ☆ ★☆★
26 Aniversario del DÍA MUNDIAL
de la BANDERA (ukenyal) AMAZIGH.
ⵣⵣⵣⵣⵣⵣⵣⵣ
26º Amulli, Congrès Mondial Amazigh (CMA) - en Tamazight-.
ⵀ★☆★ ☆ ★☆★ⵀ

spamano fic recs
some time ago i posted about wanting to make a list of spamano fic recommendations and quite a few people seemed interested, so here it is! these are some fics that i personally really liked, i also added a brief comment for every fic as well as eventual warnings. enjoy and support the authors!
Morning Glory by AroAceMess
Ludwig has something very important to ask Romano, if only he remembered that not everyone woke at the ass crack of dawn like him
He batts around blindly at the bedside table while Antonio continues to grumble into his ear, when he finds the screaming device he squints at the screen in disgust before answering it and bringing it too his ear. The too bright display had read 5:30 am and assured him that it definitely wasn’t someone he liked enough to warrant this disturbance of the peace.
chapters: 1/1
if you’re in the mood for something fluffy and domestic this is the fic for you. it manages to be sweet and funny while still dealing with more angsty themes, and the feeling of domestic warmth is portrayed perfectly
Captain’s Log by LadyLisa
After months at sea, Antonio finally returns home to Romano.
chapters: 1/1
the writing and descriptions are simply wonderful. i feel like rather than the plot, the most enjoyable part of this fic is the way it perfectly captures romano’s feelings and the sense of yearning. definitely worth checking out (just like every single one of this author’s works)
Humors
chapters: 3/3 (bloodplay, underage, dubcon)
one of my all time favorites. the spain in this fic is absolutely unhinged, which is something i’m a huge fan of, and this side of his character is handled extremely well, although it may not be everyone’s cup of tea
and maybe next time we can hold hands by lillialyce
“Their mouths move with desperation, but they are somehow elegant, a tragic dance before an impending, horrible end." Nations are forbidden from having relationships.
chapters: 1/1 (sexual content)
this is an angsty one but i really love the concept of nations’ actions directly affecting their country and how that translates to not being able to love each other
Twisted With You
chapters: 4/4 (smut)
i usually don’t love fics written in 2nd person pov, but this one stuck with me. there’s just something so sweet and intimate about it and i love the trope used here
Age Quod Agis
Teacher!Romano x Student!Spain
chapters: 3/3 (smut)
spamano with bottom!spain is one of my guilty pleasures and i just love how cocky spain is in this one
Door to Door by Canadino
Do not open the door. It could be a zombie, an unwanted boyfriend of your brother's, or a persistant salesman by the name Antonio Carriedo.
chapters: 1/1
short but very funny, i often come back to this one
The only light in this darkness by SheenaWilde
Lovino, unwilling heir of a rich noble family, is forced to attend his grandfather’s every ball. But this night, a mysterious stranger captures his interest.
chapters: 1/1
i’m extremely weak for vampire!spain. this fic may be a bit on the “twilight” side but it’s worth a read if you enjoy stereotypical vampire romances (and i sure do)
Scars by The Cilantro Family
One year ago Lovino Vargas killed himself. Now, by some strange turn of events, he's returned
chapters: 1/1 (self harm)
i don’t know what it is with this fic, but everytime i read it it leaves me with a lingering sense of desolation. it’s still really good and i personally think its themes are portrayed well
Fever by Romanoma
Romano discovers the electricity and excitement of World Cup 2010 causes all kinds of interesting reactions…
chapters: 1/1 (smut)
don’t have much to say aside from “great smut and writing” and “sweaty football player spain is a blessing” (every work by this author is worth checking out)
Spirito Di Punto by starshards
After Romano's driving skills send another car to super-car heaven, his boss decides that it's time for him to have something much more modest. Luckily for Romano, Spain's there to help him learn how to appreciate it.
chapters: 1/1 (smut)
i just really love everything about this one. hilarious, great smut and bottom!spain, what more could you ask for?
Liar by starshards
Spain cannot resist Romano, even though he hates himself for it.
chapters: 1/1 (smut)
i'm putting another work from this author simply because this one is up in my top spamano fics. this isn’t something i would recommend to anyone, but if you enjoy a darker take on spamano’s relationship it's a must
How to Care for Your Spain by AlexOfCoffee
A guide written and published by Romano Italia.
chapters: 1/1
highly recommended if you want something short and extremely fluffy/domestic
Esp by Soe_Mame
chapters: 9/9
i left the best for last. i can’t even begin to describe how much i love this fic. it’s in italian but if you have a way to translate it do yourself a favor and read it. the historical details, the characterisations, the tension, every single thing about it is amazing and it’s surely not my favorite spamano fic for nothing.

Both will start after the Annual Message of our Presidente della Repubblica Sergio Mattarella (broadcasted from 8:30PM GMT+1 on all the TVs).

LA ALCACHOFA Y SUS MAGNÍFICAS PROPIEDADES
===================================

Amelia is 100% that girl who would call you up and ask "Want to come over and play mermaids in my pool?" Even though she is a full grown adult
List of nations that would say yes: 1. Italy (Never turns down an invite from a girl to do anything. He wasn't even listening he heard "want to come over-" And checked out of the conversation.) 2. Japan (He enjoys the world building. Get's really into it) 3. Poland (Always insists he is the prettiest mermaid) 4. England (He likes to pretend he's a pirate though. They try and capsize his boat aka. his pool float) 5. Romano (Says "no that's dumb" but shows up anyway) 6. Denmark (His mermaid is always over powered. Someone picks an ability and he's like "yeah I can do that to, but also better than you") 7. Iceland (Also says "no way" but just turns up 30 mins after) 8. Russia (He was just happy to be included) 9. Hungary (is already planning out her mermaid on the way over) 10. Ukraine (Was helping her call everyone)
(feel free to add on who you think would say yes and why)

RECIPE: Arugula and Toasted Pine Nut Pesto (from Pasta Veloce by Frances Mayes and Susan Wyler)
Makes about 1½ cups (360 ml)
Ingredients
5 ounces (140 g) baby arugula
⅓ cup (80 ml) extra-virgin olive oil
½ cup (70 g) pine nuts
2 cloves garlic, crushed through a press
½ teaspoon crushed hot red pepper
½ cup (50 g) grated pecorino Romano
⅔ cup (160 ml) pasta water, or more if needed
Coarse salt and freshly ground black pepper
Put the arugula in a blender or food processor. In a small heavy saucepan, warm the olive oil over medium heat. Add the nuts, reduce the heat to low, and toast until they are very light brown, 2 to 3 minutes. Pour the nuts and hot oil over the arugula.
Add the garlic and hot pepper. Pulse to a coarse puree. Mix in the cheese. Add the pasta water and puree to a saucy consistency. Season with salt and black pepper.
