I think it’s about time I had one of these! This has been in my drafts since June last year… It feels weird making an introduction when I’ve been on Tumblr for so long now but now I’m more active I feel it’s appropriate.

You can call me whatever you want, but I’m partial to Cadence, Cady, or Picapica! I’m an adult, she/her, and I’m completely crazy over all things birds and Sing (I also like MLP, Helluva Boss, Pokemon, HTTYD, Sonic, and Godzilla). 90% of my posts are about my self ship, but I occasionally post about whatever random Sing thought is rotting my brain at the time. I also like to take art requests, art trades, and draw gifts for friends 💖 I’m also currently running Sing text posts into the ground.

‼️‼️IMPORTANT: Obviously I am a self shipper. I self ship only with Klaus Kickenklober. For deeply personal reasons, it causes me a lot of distress to see him in other ships. If I have to see other content of him being shipped with another character, canon or oc, I will have to unfollow/block. Sorry for being super sensitive about it, I wish I wasn’t, but it’s a boundary I cannot compromise. I don’t mind if people like or dislike him though and respect it as long as they respect my love for him.‼️‼️

This blog is SFW, however I have a Twitter account for all my nsfw content. It has art and “bonus” fic chapters about Klaus solo and with Cadence. However it’s a very personal account and I’m very picky about who I let access it. You can DM me if you’re interested, but I need to know you really well (well enough to know you’re an adult) and be comfortable about it. Hey, saw your posts with Kash and wanted to say I'm so sorry all that happened to you - I admittedly was in a drama group years ago where she was very active and it's not at all surprising that she continues to behave like it's 2012 and triggering the SJWs was the hot thing for edgelords. Also very not surprising she's now the person who whinges about cancel culture.

You don't have to respond to this, just hope you're doing alright and any backlash from making that call out has died down by now.

Admittedly after all the shit that I endured in the months following the call-out, it’s made me consider leaving the LK fandom — It was what ended up making me leave the MLP fandom as well (it was that bad that the shit had crossed over there, you likely know about it from the tags but if not, you can DM me for context) but I stayed anyways because admittedly, I’m TLK trash and there were some things about the online community that I genuinely liked.

Though it’s still taken a toll on me — Because every day there’s some new shit-storm in regards to racism or pro shipping, stuff which I want to contribute to people speaking out against but can’t because “look how well it happened last time.” (I had to stay off the TLK tag for a full day on my birthday because of this, yay! /s) It feels like I’m the odd one out, though in reality that’s likely the perception that I’ve created in my head because of it. And yeah, I still get some backlash from making it and was even blocked by some creators I followed, but it says more about them than me if anything.

And at this point, nothing I hear about Kash surprises me. Nowadays her whole blog is basically defending proshippers, scapegoating “antis” (I don’t like using that term, I’m against proshippers, but I don’t think something called “anti-SHIP” should be a phrase for people who are against specific, awful ships, my two cents), likening them to fascists, Republicans, puritans, media illiterates, cults, and homophobes (that last one cost her a few followers and was what motivated me the most to make the call-out and she unsurprisingly enough didn't address that little comparison, I doubt she ever will), and blanketed the term “fandom cops” onto people who were calling out micro aggressions. Again, nothing that surprises me, and I’d be beating a dead horse if I went any further and would probably end up on the front page of Laughable-lion-king-art if I did but it's nothing that nobody else doesn't already know.

I'm not gonna blissfully pretend that the callout-fallout didn't completely fuck up my mental and emotional wellbeing, but I am at least glad that I took some initiative and ended up gaining closure in the end. And given how many people really had it out for me last year, I'm glad you're among the people who are willing to support me. Thanks again.

1. why did you choose your url: My overall online penname is both a combo of the words "Rainbow" and "Psychedelic". Thus: RainbowDelic! I add words to the end of this depending on my needs (for example my art blog is called RainbowDelicArtz cuz, well, I post my art there)!

More Synesthesia

So... I actually decided to come back to this with a little bit more, because uh... honestly that explanation barely really explains things and some of the language doesn’t quite do justice to how I really experience the world, and it feels wrong, and prickly and just, a little bit of discordant in the harmony so...

I’m back to clarify a few things.

Although not all that much.

First, I’ll say, straight off, practically everything comes back to the sensation of touch more or less in the end. Sounds, sights, words and emotions. It all translates into a physical sensation. Sure there are some... exceptions, but even colours have a certain feel mostly, and that harmonizes with whatever voice they have.

Also, leading on from this point I need to get back to the names thing.

Names.

Names are an impression to me, which is kind of funny because I have such a horrible time with remembering name. Again, it’s about how they feel, how they sound, but also, at least when naming a character I do this little thing where I have to test how their name rolls in my mouth. How it sounds and what kind of harmony it has. I’ll get more of a sensation from it, a feel for it. Also, makes the colour association clearer and...

The funny thing with saying words, reading them aloud particularly names. There is a subtle taste there. But it’s usually negligible... although I do take it into account when picking character names, but my taste sense is weird because it comes with a sense of “Well this tastes red” and I’m not going to even begin on touching on the whole tastes of colour thing because it’s... not a consistent thing in the sense of I’ll look at a colour and taste it, it’s more... this taste echoes of this colour...

Which actually is probably another aspect of this all, but whatever.

But yeah, names are super important, because if the name is wrong then the whole harmony of a character is wrong and it will literally rub me the wrong way. Like a cat that’s stroked wrong, it’s very discordant and I hate names that feel wrong. But at the same time there are exceptions to the rule, and it does depend on the character...

It matters how well it gels with the rest of the harmony that they create.

Which yeah. Words, personalities and emotions. I feel a lot of things from all of them.

Speaking of words, and the music I hear, I need to mention a few of my favourite words. Defenestrated, Ubiquitous, Fennec, Peruse and Instinct now to be sure, I don’t use these words often, but still, these are absolute favs.

Why?

Do I need to have a reason? No but seriously, aside these being fun words to say and to kind of feel roll over in my mouth, the sounds that they have when I read them, those small bits of harmony and the feel of these words is just nice, really, I love them. Especially defenestrated with it’s little kind of boomf sound. Like just... boomf. Also the feel of words is, very, very important to me, because it affects how I experience a piece of media.

Same with voices, and I guess emotions.

Speaking of which...

I need to talk a little bit about cartoons and art styles and the way that they feel to me. Because sometimes, I just can’t consume a particular type of media the way it’s served up. Because of the way I experience the world with Background Music...

Which actually brings me to the main point of this clarification thing.

Because while I say “Background Music” that’s... not exactly right. It’s just the closest equivalent that I can really use to explain exactly how the world’s a symphony of sensation to me. I tend to speak of things working in a harmony an awful lot... or having a theme that I can pick out, an emotion, and a feeling and well... this is it. I constantly have this kind of harmony sense to a lot of things.

In all aspects of my life, there’s this background sensation of harmony, it could be a tune sure, although it’s a nameless, wordless, sound without any instrument either. It just is. I call it music because it is in harmony, it’s coherent and it’s constant... It’s comfortable and flavours the way I experience reality...

Unfortunately, that means I get picky about my media.

Because this harmony is always there. Again, it’s much like someone left the background music on, because it’s a harmony. Even if not exactly music, it’s mostly sound and feelings and emotions...

So I am really, really picky about my media...

Which is kind of why I despise trying to read Undertale fanfiction I’ll be honest since you go to the front page and it’s just a mess of all the AUs/Alternative Timelines and not... actually Undertale. Why I stopped watching Naruto despite the harmony being relatively nice, Naruto’s own harmony is off and discordant the further the series goes and it’s... ??? wrong, bad, I can’t watch it... Funnily enough the filler is a lot better, and it’s ??? Why?

Why despite loving the characters, universe and story of Steven Universe I can’t actually watch the cartoon because something about the style absolutely crawls, itches and breaks the harmony that the rest of the series has. Like seriously, still images are alright, but something about the art style as an animation is just off-beat and doesn’t work. Sorry. Which means most of what I get of the show is the fandom screaming, and my friend’s talking about it, because I can’t stand that broken harmony...

Why I stopped watching MLP: FiM after the end of Season 3, why is that still going? It ended! Certain episodes of certain shows, that I could watch once, and only once because wow, horrible.

It has to be in harmony, has to all flow and play out with that nice nameless sound in the back of my mind, that flow that rolls over me and just settles. Like a hum of peace and tranquillity... or you know, not tranquil, sometimes a darker harmony is good, as long as it is a harmony has to work, and flow and--

It’s the same in fics.

I am picky, it’s why I get huffy sometimes, but then have such a weakness for any kind of SI fic, because it’s always hilarious to just kind of read along and hear the harmony of the canon characters... and then there’s this tossed in odd note, or out of place random bit of harmony that clashes just enough to be amusing. Like yes, it doesn’t fit, but it does?

I dunno, they’re harmless and usually really worth the odd sense of, look at this dork trying kind of beat I hear from them... and that’s important as well. A piece of young writing will often have that clashing harmony of someone just finding themselves, a unique feeling that’s just kind of warm and bubbly and it’s nice.

I like reading things by newer Authors, because it’s such a clashing kind of harmony and the feeling it always unique, a sensation like no other... but then at the same time. Those are best in small doses...

But yeah there’s a fic that I say feels like El Tigre, and it really, really does, and that’s... an eh thing.

But yeah it’s more... I feel harmony in the world, I hear and sense harmony all the time, can’t turn this off, so when something is wrong, and discordant it really does grate on me, and is distressing, because no... that’s... that’s out of harmony with everything else...

Put it back!

Which yeah, basically Background Music, but not really?

I dunno, and this does have a slight taste I guess maybe? Tricky to really say, because again, smell translates to taste, and since I can smell stuff all the time. As well as hearing, I hear things, and get a taste from that, which... yeah, I can say that I experience some rather interesting flavours that I couldn’t possibly hope to tag to anything because which sensory input is doing this?

I don’t know, but my mouth tastes kind of sparky, and that’s that. Actually, with a lick of pepper as well? Huh... whatever.

And since it all circles back to touch and feeling in the end... What can I even say. I get jolts sometimes, and feel things crawling, an itch, smoke tends to burn, particularly in the chest. And sometimes trying to consume a piece of media that’s out of harmony and discordant can be near painful.

I am not sure what else I could say about this.

I am aware that some of my f/os are not very liked by their fandom and I understand why. Do not try and shame me for selfshipping with them. I kind of vented about this in a post some time ago, you can like a character while knowing they have made mistakes and not agreeing on their views.

You can of course just blacklist hte characters tags if you hate them so much, or not follow me at all. If I see you post hate about any of my characters, I will unfollow you.

Generally, if I ever see you posting or sharing hate about any kind of selfship ever, I will block you. This includes the recent age discourse. I myself do not ship with any minor character but I absolutely support people doing so through aging the character up. Aging a character up does not make you a pedophile. You can not convince me otherwise. The selfship community is supposed to be a safe-haven for people who are in love with fictional characters and get harrassed for it anywhere else. I will not support bullying in any way.
