“Hey, baaaby.” Beck stretched out the pet name as he plopped down next to you on his bed. He kissed the top of your head.

“Hey,” was all you spared in return. You didn’t even look at him.

It wasn’t that you were mad. At least, you weren’t mad at him. You were busy doing the mountain of work you had for school.

You didn’t hear Beck calling your name until the third time. “Sorry-Yeah?” You finally turned to look at him.

“Do you really need to do all this now?” he wondered in earnest.

You glanced around at how much you’d made yourself at home in Beck’s trailer. “Oh, I’m sorry! I’ve invaded your space. I’ll just go to the library--”

“That’s not what I meant.” Beck lightly touched your shoulder to get you to sit back down. “You’ve been at this for hours. Why don’t you take a break?”

You shook your head. “I can’t. I planned all my work out. I need to get all this done today or else’ll my plan’ll be thrown off.”

Beck smiled quickly at the ceiling. “Ah, right. Your plan.”

You ignored his teasing. “Exactly. So, like I said, I’ll just go to the library--”

“Oh no, you don’t,” Beck fell on top of you and pinned you under him. “You’re finishing your work here. I wouldn’t have it any other way. But before that, will you take a quick, half-hour break and cuddle with me...please?” Beck blinked doughy eyes at you.

He wasn’t really holding your arms, so you freed one of them to comb his hair back. “How could I say no to that face?” you wondered as Beck shook his hair wild again.
