Prompt Idea: Danny has plot armor.

To start off, Danny’s whole family knows he’s Phantom, and they had to run from Amity because of the GIW. They wind up in Gotham because that’s the one place that The Government doesn’t really mess with.

The reason behind Danny’s plot armor is that in this world, Danny became incredibly overprotective of his friends and family in order to make sure he doesn’t wind up as Dan, ironically making the chance of that happening much greater than before.

In order to prevent this, Clockwork gives Danny and his family a blessing. It works like this.

Imagine you rolled a dice. To Clockwork, there are now 6+ possible alternate timelines that can ensue. Clockwork’s blessing allows those possible timelines to be restricted to only one or two, all of them good for the Fenton family.

In effect, it was like plot armor. Scarecrow attacks a library with Jazz inside? Oh, looks like her parents need her to pick up Danny early, or she drank too much water and needs to go to the bathroom, which just so happens to have a window just in reach that she can escape from.

Maddy needs to get a job? Well, Jazz’s university needs a new chemistry professor (last one was kidnapped by a rogue) and they’re in a bit of a rush so they’ll skip looking for a teaching certificate. No one cares anyways, it’s Gotham.

Jack needs something to do? Well, besides hunting ghosts, he’d always wanted to open a food truck! With Jazzy making sure nothings contaminated and some (slightly modified) recipes from the Ghost Zone, he can finally chase his dream in a big city with his Phantom Food Vehicle! He wonders what some of those shady men came up to him for, or that odd stout fella in the tux.

(The Phantom Food Truck has become a recent cryptid in Gotham. Except it’s not a cryptid, because everyone’s seen the video of the truck hurtling down the street like it’s chasing down the devil, cop cars and vigilantes alike on its tail. And yet, no one could find it. Not even the Bats. That’s about when everyone gave up. When they learned that you don’t find it, the Phantom Food Truck finds you.)

As for Danny? He’s entirely unaware of this, to focused on keeping his head down. It works, for a while. Before fate came knocking in the form of a wicked smile, as if there solely to ruin his day.

The Joker wasn’t having a good day either. He started out having a jolly old time, joker toxin gassing a small high school, making sure to leave macabre presents for his dear Batsy, and then what happens? This random kid just starts running around, helping students, saving teachers, what’s he gonna do next huh? Save a cat from a tree?

What’s worse, his useless henchmen couldn’t even land a hit on the kid! He swears, Bill doesn’t even seem to be trying.

Whatever, they managed to corner the brat, looked like he was standing in front of some other children. So Joker lines the shot, and he fires.

The gun jams.

Alrighty, he takes one from a random mook, and he shoots again.

The gun jams.

No one’s moving at this point. Where there was once dread and tension in the air, there’s just confusion. So Joker points the gun at a goon, pulls the trigger, the shot goes off.

He turns back to the Robin-ish looking twink, and he pulls the trigger.

The gun jams.

And as he starts walking towards the kid to just kill it himself, he wakes up in the Arkham hospital wing with his last memory of the encounter being him slipping on the glowing green contents of some weird looking thermos that the kid had thrown earlier in the fight. What the FUCK was that.

Clockwork doesn’t even care how pissed the Observers are any more, this is hilarious.

it's to the point of ridiculousness that the Bats have an entire file on Danny and they think he's a meta with a luck ability and nothing else.

AU where Izuku gets expelled and keeps going to UA. However, after the USJ Aizawa, fresh off his head injury, just assumes he reenrolled Izuku and is confused when the paperwork doesn’t reflect that.

How do you like monstrous misunderstandings?

1 - After being expelled, Izuku did the only reasonable thing to do and pretended that this had never happened and hid for two days every time Aizawa was around while he kept going to class. After the USJ, Aizawa didn't react when he saw him so he quickly guessed that there was some head injury going on helping his homeroom teacher that he has expelled Izuku.

2 - No one is allowed to help Aizawa remember that Izuku was expelled. No one. I do not know what Izuku did but everyone in 1-A is helping him pulled it off and even the UA staff doesn't dare to bring it up to Aizawa, even though most of the adults know that Aizawa would reenroll him.

3 - Because of that, every time Aizawa mentions that there is some missing paperwork for a student, he gets very concerned glances for his coworkers (because they are scared to anger the green gremlin). Aizawa, who is hiding that he escaped the hospital even though his doctor had ordered bed rest for a month, always drops the subject quickly so the other teachers won't suspect that something is wrong with him. (Nevermind the fact that he is covered in bandage and OBVIOUSLY FORGOT THAT HE HAD EXPELLED A WHOLE STUDENT).

4 - So Aizawa has a student in his class no one acknowledges (in his presence). His coworkers always make face every time the USJ is mentioned. Again, things get VERY STRANGE every time he tries to mention Midoriya as still being in his class. So he makes the next logical leap: Midoriya Izuku died at the USJ and Aizawa is the only one who can see that ghost.

5 - The rest of the AU is Aizawa subtly trying to talk to Izuku and to apologize for not protecting him and asking him how he can make him be at peace while Izuku is very sus of this whole thing and 100% believing that Aizawa is suspecting that Izuku was expelled and pulling a con. Nedzu is aware of the whole thing and finds it hilarious.

More misunderstandings from the outsiders’ povs:

After Maddie finds out about Vlad having a crush on her, she overhears Phantom arguing with Vlad about Vlad trying to kill his dad to get to his mom, assumes that Vlad must’ve been the one to kill Phantom and his family, worries that Vlad is clearly a serial killer who murders the families of the women he obsesses over and thinks her family must be next

(This becomes an even greater worry when she meets Dani, and since those other two ghosts share a name with her Danny, he must be killing stand ins for her family and he must’ve been planning their murders since Danny’s birth at the earliest)

Paulina meets Dani and decides that she must be related to Phantom and the best way to his heart his to befriend his sister, especially since it’s clear that Phantom loves her a lot and is so overprotective over her (he’s trying to keep the two of them apart so Paulina doesn’t find out his identity, Dani thinks the whole thing is hilarious)

Jack also puts the similar names of the ghosts together, decides that it must be Plasmius’ fault and if there’s some serial killer going after Danny’s and possibly their loved ones then he must keep Vlad near him so he can keep all of his loved ones safe (Maddie is stressed by this development)

The ghosts have no idea about Vlad’s cloning and so they also have no idea what the fuck is up with Dani, they keep hoping the ghost boy will clear things up but he never directly addresses it and everything they manage to overhear is even more confusing

Talks about Phantom being a relatively “new” ghost and there might be a serial killer on the loose has the whole city abuzz and each person has a new idea on who it might be, a majority of the students at Casper High are claiming it must be the teachers so they can have the excuse of not feeling safe so they can skip class (some genuinely believe it and it’s causing problems)

Danny Phantom (and technically optional crossover) Prompt

Imagine, if you will, a not-aging Danny Fenton. There’s about a dozen ways to do this, but in this case—Danny still has a human lifespan, he just looks human (though, I won’t argue against any immortal Dannys). As Fenton, he’s just stuck at fourteen. Phantom, being a ghost whose appearance is based on what he sees himself as, does look older. By this point, he’s probably retired from superheroics—I just find unphased and jaded 18 year old Danny to be hilarious. So, he’s just like ‘I wanna go to college’.

So he does. He just. Always looks 14. His hair grows, he can build muscle, and he can definitely have dark eyes—but otherwise? Short ass 14 year old. He constantly has to prove that yes, he’s the real Danny Fenton, and no, this is not a scam. He eventually has to get meta-specific paperwork filled out—no need for the genetic test if the power is fairly obvious. (Of course, it’s possible to do this AU as not crossover, but then you’ll have to do the legwork of making it less odd that someone has superpowers, and whether that means everyone knows he’s Phantom, which might change some of the issues. It also doesn’t have to be DC, for instance, you could use Marvel or even My Hero Academia—ultimately, up to the writer.)

Anyways, he gets his degree(s), enters the workforce, and by the Ancients is it hard to be taken seriously. Even people who see his paperwork and know for a fact he’s a full fledged adult are just like, aw, poor kid, can’t even reach the top cabinets without stretching or climbing. So, while he could just keep being the most qualified 14-looking-adult, he’s quickly getting sick of it. He can’t even be a school teacher, none of his students will take him seriously! Not even the younger ones, cause even the other teachers aren’t respecting him.

There are about… three options available to him, up to whoever wants to pick up this sort of prompt.

1-he gets into acting or modeling. Or perhaps, stunt acting. And everyone is just a bit unnerved about how absolutely none of the nonsense seems to get to him, and he’s just… a little *too* bendy sometimes. He’d make a great scare actor, if he wasn’t terrible at scaring people.

2-he goes into the work force as Phantom in a cheap wig and terrible contacts. Half the time, he forgets at least one contact. Cue mystery of who the hell this guy is, because, for ONCE, someone actually paid attention to the paperwork and knows that he DOESN’T look like THAT.

3-he tries to get work in a slightly more remote position, where his colleagues are few to none. Of course, that is, until some hero or another such professional has to meet him in person, and gets one hell of a shock about who their expert on the computer has been all this time.

There’s of course the undercurrent of Danny’s experiences as a teen hero, so sometimes absolutely wild situations show up, and his stories are like, super weird. He thinks at least SOME of his experiences must be universal, and they’re… really, really not. The outlandish stories don’t help the whole ‘not taken serious’ thing, but then they turn out to be true. Bonus points to rogues or ghosts showing up to say hi and everyone is like WAS THAT A FUCKING DRAGON?! And Danny’s just like ‘yeah she was a beauty pageant coordinator in my hometown, we kept in touch. I helped put her brother in jail’. As if that did NOT just raise more questions than before.

Of course, use or don’t use what you want (such as, he does keep a public-ish position, or he just goes full villain to prove a point, or even somehow starts working undercover at schools and summer camps for xyz reasons, whether or not the Justice League finds him, what his degree(s) weee even in, etc etc), I just think that Forever Teen Danny stories are interesting.

Basically… it’s reverse Shazam, haha.

Ghost Rider Pacific Rim AU - night classes

“It’s so cool,” Gabe pulls his face down to get a better look at his eye. “You’re like Dr Luo! Is it like that forever now?”

Robbie wracks his brain for an image of Dr Luo – he’s pretty sure that’s one of the bad guys in Ninja Wolf. Wait, this hurts your feelings? That’s hilarious. It’s nothing. He’s just glad Gabe isn’t freaked out by the way his pupil is still misshapen, the surrounding iris cloudy-brown from the broken blood vessels. Dr Montesi said the damage is mostly cosmetic, but seemed a little taken aback that he could see without much trouble. She spent the majority of their appointment frowning and making notes while Cho rattled off incomprehensible test results. They clearly arrived at some sort of a reluctant conclusion, but didn’t translate it into non-PhD, so all he knows is that he needs to go into the resonance machine again, this time for a full-body scan. MRI became MRS, which will apparently make all the difference.

He’s been prescribed extra rations. He’s already struggling to finish what the mess hall considers regular ones – but Gabe is always hungry after finishing his, so it’s hardly a problem.

“It should go back to normal in a couple of weeks,” he says as Gabe pulls his lower eyelid down. “How was school, anyway? Did you meet anyone new?”

While school-prep was essentially quarantine, proper ‘school’ turns out to be something of a misnomer – it’s a classroom attached to the unattended minors centre where the whole base dumps their kids when their guardians are at work, or otherwise occupied. Sometimes, after a demon attack, some of the children find themselves permanent residents until alternative care can be arranged. It’s good for them to be used to the environment.

“We’ve been notified you will be joining the academy,” the teacher told Robbie while Gabe was saying goodbye to his new classmates. He didn’t offer congratulations. “You don’t need to worry about the schedule. I know Major Brooks likes to run his sessions long.”

Major Brooks can like his sessions on the moon for all Robbie cares. He’s not letting Gabe live out of a temp bunk full of abandoned and orphaned children. The nightmare he had, the one about dying in The Charger – Didn’t die. – still makes him uneasy, and he has no plans on joining any strike teams. Besides, it seems a little unfair – as in any other childcare facility he’s ever seen, the staff are stretched thin and never paid enough for all they’re asked to do. Robbie can’t imagine preparing for a shift with sixty kids and ending up with a hundred, because someone up in the dome ran an exercise for an extra two hours.

That’s because you’ve never been in a Kwoon ring. Trust me, it’s better than hanging around a cripple all day.

He freezes. Was that–

“...and Lin said her dad can make me elbow pads like hers,” Gabe finishes recounting. Crap, Robbie didn’t mean to space out like that. “I want to draw her a picture from her story. Can we get the book?”

Gabe has a school-issued tablet that came complete with a stern warning about selling Shatterdome property. It takes Robbie longer than he’d like to figure out how to access the online library. Every piece of technology they get is second-hand or renovated, and still years ahead of what he could afford back in L.A.

The e-reader has adjustable text size and screen contrast, and a read-aloud option. Damn, you’re easy to impress. The book Gabe requested seems to be some sort of a video game novelisation.

This is all too good to be true, he thinks when Gabe is busy finishing his second helping of noodle soup while following the text along to the narrator in his earphones. The stipend he’s getting from medical is slightly less than what he’d make as a mechanic, and nowhere near enough to save up and leave, but so much on the base is provided for free it’s not really a concern. It feels not unlike the first few weeks in their own flat back in Hillrock Heights – a to-date unprecedented amount of comfort. That lasted only seven months before the demon attack. According to the countdown display, the next one is due in three weeks.

“Robbie-Robbie,” Gabe sing-songs without looking away from the screen. “Your soup is getting cold.”

“You’re holding it wrong. Extend your thumb,” Robbie says to his dad, grabbing his staff to demonstrate.

Dad is only a couple of inches taller than him. He rolls his eyes. He looks… fond.

“I can still knock the snot out of you, soldier boy.”

Robbie laughs. It sounds forced. “Yeah? That a threat?”

“Hell yeah.” Dad looks a little unsure for a moment. “Seriously, Juliana is watching. Go easy on me, huh?”

Robbie doesn’t remember having dreams like that before. Normal stuff, sometimes nightmares, but never these… these weird whole-scene narratives. He lies in his cot for a good ten minutes, trying to level his breathing; it felt so real. His arms ache.

Four in. Hold four. Four out. It’s being in the Shatterdome. Back in the Shatterdome. It’s messing with whatever… block he’s got in his head. There are records – classified, but maybe if he asked–

Or you could just plug back into The Charger. It’s got what you need.

Is it weird that Gabe doesn’t seem interested? Then again, he was too little to remember dad at all. He stopped asking after mom fairly quickly too. It used to be a point of pride for Robbie – he could do it by himself. They didn’t need anyone else.

He presses his knuckles into his eyes until he sees sparks. Jesus, pull yourself together. Right. He swings down from his bunk and goes to wake Gabe up – he’s been sleeping like a log with all the noise suppression in the crew quarters. They have morning routine down to the minute – roll out the kinks from Gabe’s legs and lower back, make sure he doesn’t try to spit out the one pill that doesn’t come in a sugar shell, decant the rest of the day’s meds plus emergency supply into the plastic container, check the medical info sheet is still in his backpack where it’s supposed to be. Gabe showers in the evenings, and Robbie in the mornings while he gets dressed. Back in L.A., the harried social worker he used to harass for advice mentioned that now Gabe is a teenager, Robbie needs to occasionally leave him alone behind a closed door, and this is the best he can offer – other than never, ever thinking about it any further in any detail.

All the kids get meals at the beginning of each shift, so he drops Gabe off first before looping back to the mess hall for his prescription food. Most of everything on offer is vegetarian, but with his new academy assignment Robbie can technically access the pork. It’s half eight in the morning – he has to solemnly promise the old lady behind the counter that he won’t starve to death on just rice and beans.

It turns out to be the wrong choice.

Tony waves Amadeus over to the edge of the viewing platform and points to the mat to the far side of the gym, where Robbie Reyes is getting his ass handed to him for the fifteenth time in a row. He’s probably counting, too. He looks the type.

“Ouch,” Amadeus hisses in sympathy. “Wasn’t he supposed to just run laps?”

“Yep,” Tony pops the ‘p’. He wishes he’d brought popcorn. “Don’t ask me, they were already at it when I got here.”

They watch the sixteenth match end, once again, with Reyes flat on his back on the mat. Tony waits until Eric gets him up again to nod his head to the other side of the platform. “Watch the Colonel.”

Ivanov doesn’t make a habit of observing the recruits. He shows up in the Kwoon Combat Room for pair ups, because that’s always good fun, but the cadets are pretty pitiful until Eric whips them into shape, and the brass tends to train when the impressionable young people can’t hear their backs creak from the effort. He’s been watching Reyes like a hawk, though, and according to Tony’s quick dig into base surveillance, arrived just in time to potentially instruct their Fightmaster to change up his training program. Eric doesn’t sway from his routines unless directly threatened with public speaking. Or unless Carol asks nicely enough, and she’s on duty this morning.

“His orthodontist will have some work to do,” Amadeus comments. He produces a pack of jelly beans from his coat pocket and offers some to Tony. “Are we being anti-establishment again?”

“Please, we’re always anti-establishment. Say, I know nothing about martial arts. Is Reyes any good?”

Only the rangers stand any chance of winning against Eric, and usually only after several years of learning his every move. That the kid hasn’t tapped out yet is already pretty impressive, but Tony has been known to mistake stubbornness for skill before. Amadeus crunches on the jelly beans for a long moment before replying.

“It’s like he’s been studying from old movies,” he says, thoughtful. “Knows what to do, but can’t back it up.”

“Did he mention getting any lessons?”

“Two boxing classes at fifteen.” Amadeus has the good sense to appear slightly red-faced at how quickly he pulled that information out of his giant brain. Tony magnanimously lets it slide. “What are you saying?”

He shrugs. “Nothing. But something smells funny here, doesn’t it?”

“Wait till you see what Montesi pulled out of his MEG scan.”

“Oooh, do tell.”

One level below, Reyes begins losing his cool. He puts enough strength into his next hit that when the wooden staff hits the mat instead of Eric’s leg, it bounces back and nearly hits him square in the face. Tony really doesn’t know much about fighting – he’s more of a lover type – but he knows Eric Brooks, and under three hundred layers of repression and self-esteem issues no therapist in the universe could crack, the big guy appears to be surprised.

RIDE THE CYCLONE HEAD CANONS [PART TWO]:

☆ Mischa is polymorous

☆ Ricky absolutely COVERED his wheelchair in stickers, mostly consisting of cats, sparkly things, and memes

☆ If he would have survived, Ricky would have grown up to be a veterinarian despite his disabilities, because he loved cats and other animals

☆ Micsha would have grown up to move back to Ukraine, bringing Noel with him, to marry Talia and invite Noel to join their relationship, and start a carrier in singing and rapping (mostly about the loves of his life)

☆ Noel would have grown up to be a beautiful actor, loving the drama of it all and finally getting to be themself and act put tragedy on stage

☆ Ocean would have grown up to be a history teacher, with her passion for change and ability to make a speech out of anything

☆ Constance would have grown up to continue her family's business and spread joy through the town

☆ Penny grew up to be a choir teacher for little kids, and she told them stories about mysterious ghost girl on a search for her soul...

☆ The choir would spend Halloween together and would try (key word, TRY) to make a group costume. One year, they decided on going as ghosts. Ocean went as a very dramatic Victorian style ghost, makeup and all. Constance had a sheet with eyes cut out. Mischa didn't dress up and insisted he was a "normal ghost". Noel wore all white. And Ricky dressed as a cat and flipped Ocean off when she told him he didn't listen to the group idea.

☆ Ricky was always covered in cat fur and it annoyed Ocean cause he got it all over his music in the choir

☆ Mischa has multipul scars on his knuckles from punching random things (mostly walls and/or Ricky's wheelchair (Ricky finds it funny)) out of anger

☆ Ricky fell head over heels for Jane in death, a small part of the reason he conceded was so that she would be allowed to live again

☆ Ricky's deadname was Savannah, and that's why he gave it to Jane. He wanted to make sure she had a piece of him somehow. He was sad when Karnak said her name was Penny in life.

☆ Penny's middle name was Savannah, no one ever told Ricky that

☆ Ricky has glasses that he wears sometimes, but he's always loosing them

☆ Mischa has glasses, he only wears them when he's on the phone with Talia. Other than that he refuses because "glasses are for babies with bad eyes, except Ricky, Ricky is cool dude"

☆ Mischa painted his middle finger nails red because he found it hilarious (and it was)

☆ Constance loves stickers and sticks them to everyone when she thinks they're doing a good job. "Good job Mischa! You didn't smack Ocean for giving you a dirty look!" "Good job Ocean! How far do you think Jack is willing to go for his S/O? What lines wouldn’t he cross?

Fortunately we know for sure from word of Sauce that Jack isn’t going to force himself sexually on the MC or anyone else, and the next update of the demo will make that clearer. Since the game isn’t intended to depict non-consent and dubious consent, I think we can safely assume that SA in any form is a line he won’t cross.

Another thing they stated was that Jack has never killed a child and that it’s not going to happen in the story. So I think it’s safe to assume that harming a child is another line he won’t cross.

We have a good sense of Jack’s physical limitations due to his mysterious nature as a ghost(?) but let’s stick with things he likely would or wouldn’t do if he had the option.

One thing that limits Jack’s options is the character of Sunny Day Jack, rather staying in character as much as possible. For example, it’s been said that Jack is unable to swear, which makes sense, since no doubt that would be forbidden for any children’s TV host to do. This could be a supernatural limitation due to the nature of what he turned into, but I believe this is more of a psychological limitation. As such, I think it might be possible for him to overcome it, though I think he would suffer from breaking character too much.

Yes, this probably means one of the lines Jack would (at least try) not to cross is swearing. I find that thought pretty hilarious, not going to lie.

Allow me to show a picture Sauce drew that I think really demonstrates the psychological (and potentially supernatural) limitations Jack has in place to stay in character as Sunny Day Jack. While the canon of this picture must be taken with a grain of salt at this point in time, I do think it’s good insight to Jack’s thought process in general.

As always whenever I share some of the lovely artwork Sauce publicly posted, I want to make sure to credit them. I also want to remind everyone to please not repost anything privately posted over on the SnaccPop Studios Patreon. Let’s support Sauce and the team as best we can, okay?

Also, this is a good time to remind everyone that this game is for Adults Only and it deals with some dark topics, like self-harm, verbal abuse, manipulation, gaslighting, murder, suicide, yandere tendencies, and the like.

I strongly suspect that direct violence against someone is also a line Jack won’t cross. He’ll just scare them, and if that doesn’t work, he’ll break their mind until they commit self harm. It’s a loophole in a sense, since characters for young kids programming like him are written to never actually do harm to anyone. In order to stay in character, Jack would have to adhere to this strict trope.

Heck, even anger seems to be something that Jack would have as a limitation. After all, mentor characters in edutainment shows are meant to be showing good lessons by example, so lashing out verbally is a big no no. I did do a post about my thoughts on how Jack might snap if pushed to his limit though.

I think Jack works around these limitations in the character of Sunny Day Jack via loopholes, at least ones he justifies to himself. A character like his wouldn’t do anything above a G rating. However, if he frames it as showing MC love, then having NC-17 rated adults only fun times would be totally in character! After all, adults make babies with love, and MC certainly is just as much as an adult as Jack.

I believe that convincing someone to hurt themselves is the loophole Jack has when he wants to commit violence but can’t justify it in character. If his hand is on the handle of the knife at their throat, why, he’s just helping them do what they’re choosing to do, and it’s much more merciful if they finish it quickly, right? He’s not the one hurting them. In fact, he’s making it hurt less by being helpful. Isn’t that so kind of him?

Jack is a teacher, so it’s his job to teach others and guide them into making good decisions. What better decision would there be than to stop interfering with MC and Jack’s happiness?

Words can do just as much harm as a physical wound, sometimes even more so. However, if Jack frames it in his mind as him teaching and guiding someone to do the right thing, well, then obviously it’s not violence!

It’s also more in character for a teacher to say if Jack heard it from his own teachers while growing up...

Giving people nightmares, breaking them down mentally and emotionally with his words and supernatural powers... These are lines Jack can justify himself into crossing. Of course, I don’t think it’s without consequence, since I think it might cause some damage to Jack’s psyche as well for crossing these lines and driving someone to self harm.

But, like anyone with cognitive dissonance, Jack would do his best to justify his actions. It’s for the best. It’s all for MC’s sake...

Possession may or may not be among Jack’s abilities as a ghost(?) but I imagine he would cross that line if he was capable. Jack was an actor after all, and he’s very, very good at fully embracing whatever role he plays. I think if pushed hard enough, he could take someone else’s place and assume their identity if it means keeping his sunshine. This is a potential bad end route for the other love interests, but it’s purely my own speculation and there’s no real evidence that’s a possible outcome.

Manipulation of course is a line Jack readily crosses. He does it in big and small ways to everyone, including MC. He either can’t or won’t lie to them directly (or at least he implies he’s never lied to them), but he lies by omission. He’s careful about redirecting subjects and getting MC’s mind focused elsewhere when it’s inconvenient for him.

Gaslighting is another line Jack would cross. He blatantly did so in the demo when he claimed that MC mentioned Ian. This is technically the truth due to his mind reading powers, or even if he simply overheard them talking on the phone. He heard them mention Ian’s name. He just never said they directly told him Ian’s name, letting them fill in the blanks of the implication.

Jack might not directly lie to MC, but he does lead them into doubting their reality with his words.

Manipulation, doing things behind MC’s back, pressuring them, keeping secrets that he probably knows full well they won’t like... I think these are all things Jack is willing to do “for their sake.”

However, even this has a limitation. Jack has been called a softcore yandere, and Sauce confirmed that he doesn’t want to dim his sunshine’s warm and happy light. He’s not going to do anything that would harm MC. He wants them to be healthy and happy.

This means that Jack isn’t going to chop off limbs so MC can’t run away from him. He’s not going to break their mind like in the above picture. Even if the person is doing harm to themselves, they are still being hurt, and Jack doesn’t want any harm to come to MC.

So even though Jack is going to be manipulative with MC, he’s not going to, say, break down their self-confidence so that they believe that he’s the only person who could ever love someone like them. Rather, he’ll likely elevate their self-confidence instead while presenting himself as the superior option to all others. Here’s a couple pictures that demonstrate what I mean.

MC doesn’t need anyone but Jack. He can provide his sunshine with everything they need, better than anyone else ever could...

Anything that the world provides, no matter how nice it is, it’s not as good as what Jack can give. He won’t forget MC. He loves MC more than anyone else ever could. The world is so big and cold and cruel... it’ll forget all about even the brightest of stars like Jack or MC, but Jack never will. He promised his sunshine forever, didn’t he? And has he ever lied to them? That’s why he wants them to promise to do the same for him...

Rather, Jack is going to use positive reinforcement to lure MC in. He makes them feel good, improves their life, elevates their self-confidence, makes them laugh and shine bright. How can they possibly resist everything he provides for them so willingly and readily? Everyone else is clearly inferior compared to him and the love he has to offer his dear sunshine.

So... suffice to say, I think a hard limit Jack won’t cross is anything that would do any real harm to MC. Sure he might have some loopholes here as well, but only if the result is going to make them happier in the long run. Sometimes kids need to learn lessons that can be a little harsh on kids shows after all. Sometimes kids need to see that their reckless actions can have consequences on those around them.

But never anything too bad of course! There’s a big difference between a hard lesson and trauma after all. A good lesson, even a more firm one, never leaves lasting damage.

No, anything that might cause nightmares are better left for other people to suffer, not his precious sunshine. Jack only wants to make MC happy and make sure no one takes them away from him...

If other people get hurt? Well... sometimes these things happen. It’s better not to focus too much on other people too much. It’s not good for you, sunshine. You need to care about yourself more... and Jack will certainly love to take care of you in every way possible.

Of course, breaking other laws aren’t necessarily off the table as long as Jack can justify it while keeping in character. For example, Sunny Day Jack would never steal money, but if MC was in desperate need of money, well... I’m sure Barry wouldn’t mind the finances of Yogurtopia to get tweaked a little so that they have a raise in their check. That meanie pants of a boss really works them too hard, and Barry owes them for all that overtime! Plus, there’s other ways an invisible entity like Jack could get things for MC to take care of them...

Painting other people in a more negative light is another thing Jack has done in the demo. Or rather one person. Then again, given Ian’s behavior, it would be easy to argue that he’s justified in these accusations. It might be less a manipulation tactic and more projection and coming to a conclusion based off of how hurt MC is. We’ll have to wait and see whether or not this becomes a pattern with other people, though we do know he does view them as inferior to him and what he provides.

Though in the picture where MC is spending time with someone else, Jack does say the person they’re with is nice when he could have pointed out why the person wasn’t nice. It’s not technically canon, but it does make me wonder...

Sharing is another thing Jack just doesn’t want to do, at least when it comes to his sunshine, so this could count as another of his limits. That means it’s probably unlikely that there’s going to be a harem ending in Something’s Wrong with Sunny Day Jack. Heartbreaking, I know, but Jack just can’t risk anyone taking his sunshine away.

Izzie’s One of Us is Back Celebration (Day 15)

headcanons: kris, maeve, cooper, & luis’s friendship

below the cut

maeve doesn’t really hang out with all three of them until a few months into her relationship with luis

it’s not that she doesn’t like them it’s just that they’re never all in the same place at the same time

the first time they do something together they go for a walk in the bayview arboretum

it’s still luis’s happy place, even though some of it was ruined by the bomb

maeve spends the entire time talking to kris about books that they’ve both read while cooper and luis toss a ball between them

“how do they walk and play catch at the same time?” maeve asks kris

kris just grins “i do not pretend to know their ways, maeve”

they always find themselves outside

maeve isn’t a big fan, but it’s hard to toss a ball around inside and cooper has decided that kris doesn’t spend enough time in the sun

“you’re basically a ghost, kris” he’s always saying whenever kris complains

luis, cooper, and maeve have a text chain to keep each other up to date on how kris is doing

it’s equal parts sweet and chaotic

“did kris eat something today”

“i saw him eat a granola bar on tuesday”

“that was three days ago luis!!!”

maeve taught cooper how to make a daisy chain once and every time they’re in a field he makes everyone crowns

maeve has way less energy than the boys, so every once in a while they have a day when they stay in and just hang out

kris studies, maeve reads, luis tries out new recipes, and cooper curls up against kris’s side and reads out ingredients and instructions to luis

they always show up to each other’s events

the boys go to maeve’s high school graduation

maeve, luis, and kris always make sure to go to cooper’s games

kris, maeve, and cooper are always cheering luis on at his pickup football games

(even though none of them understand the sport and therefore sometimes cheer at the wrong times)

luis, maeve, and cooper go to kris’s graduation too

they also always drop him off and pick him up at the airport when he takes trips home to germany

maeve’s parents adore cooper, kris, and luis

and kris’s family has meet the other three briefly via facetime and they love that kris has great friends

the santoses though?

oh boy they’ve adopted cooper, kris, and maeve

maeve, cooper, luis, and kris will talk about anything and they’re the closest out of the bayview crew

they throw maeve a little party when she commits to a college

and they all ask her to teach them spanish when she decides to become a spanish teacher

even luis which maeve finds silly since he speaks spanish better than she does

they make dinner together once a week, and every week one person picks the dish

luis always chooses things he wants to put on contigo’s menu

cooper usually goes for the southern food he grew up eating

kris introduces them to food he ate when he was in germany

maeve chooses whatever she’s feeling at the moment, but it’s usually ajiaco

they end up living near each other when they’re older

maeve goes to college in new england and the separation was the worst thing that happened to all of them

she went to grad school in california because she couldn’t stand being away from her friends for so long

cooper, kris, and luis think it’s hilarious that maeve ends up teaching at bayview high

luis helps cooper propose to kris

and maeve helps kris propose to cooper

and since luis and maeve basically share a brain they separately tell both boys to basically do the same thing at the same time

it’s the most chaotic, hilarious proposal ever and yet somehow incredibly perfect

maeve and luis just wake up one day after luis’s restaurant is stable and decide to get married

cooper and kris are so irritated about that because they wanted to help plan the wedding

but like they’re not that irritated because it’s very in character for maeve and luis

maeve, kris, and cooper are the first people to eat at luis’s restaurant

also kris and cooper were told beforehand that the restaurant would be named after maeve and her reaction when she finds out is so cute they all end up crying for nearly half an hour

neither couple has biological kids (maeve and luis foster and eventually adopt, and kris and cooper adopt and eventually foster) but the rest of the bayview crew turn to them for help when babysitting

they’re truly just best friends who adore each other so much and make each other’s lives so much better

Fic Recs: Avatar: The Last Airbender

i rewatched this series when it came out on netflix and i fell in love with it all over again. so many amazing fic writers have taken inspiration from it, so here are some of my favourites!

first rule of earth kingdom fight club… by ohmygodwhy

zuko, his stubborn inability to die, and finding himself thru getting his ass kicked

this series is a collection of amazing fics all about zuko surviving the siege of the north and joining earth rumble despite not being an earth bender. it’s the perfect mix of hilarious and serious, and i love it so much

a crack in the glass (eye) by carthaginian_berries

Okay, so maybe Sokka’s noticed that Zuko’s left eye doesn’t really move that much. That’s fine. It’s fine, because it’s damaged, and probably injured terribly by some incredibly unlucky accident, and it doesn’t even have an eyelid, so like — Sokka can work with this. Maybe it just doesn’t have any functioning nerves anymore. Sometimes, eyes just don’t move; it’s all perfectly normal, a regular day, just like Zuko strolling into the Western Air Temple to volunteer himself as Aang’s firebending teacher/prisoner/Not A Friend. Walking in on said firebending teacher/prisoner/Not A Friend polishing an entire entirely-detached eyeball? Not so fine. or: zuko has a glass eye. toph is fully ready to exploit the fact.

very very amusing fic about toph, zuko and sokka terrorising the rest of the gaang. the scenarios and pranks made are hilarious and i love this fic so much

Wait for It by mindbending

Prince Zuko is born with eyes of pure gold, the surest sign of a strong inner flame. Prince Zuko is born unlucky. He has no fire to speak of. No spark of potential. (Until swords start bending to his will.)

loving this metalbending take on zuko. all of the ideas are so interesting and the characterisation is on point. plus, you gotta love the zuko & toph friendship

Embers by Vathara

Dragon's fire is not so easily extinguished; when Zuko rediscovers a lost firebending technique, shifting flames can shift the world...

could not have a fic rec list without including this masterpiece. the worldbuilding in this is so unique and intriguing, and you can’t help but get attached to the new characters as the story goes on. the amount of research and real world ties this fic has is also outstanding. this fic is over 700k, but i can promise you that it is so enthralling you won’t regret it

Getting Busy in Ba Sing Se by vixxer

Sokka holds up four fingers and pokes him with them. “Four months is still not a lot of time. Weren’t you traveling the earth kingdom for most of it?” “I could’ve met a lot of people while traveling,” Zuko responds defensively. “Really getting around the earth kingdom, huh,” Sokka says with a wink.

beware for general teenage humour and an inordinate amount of dick jokes. i really like this fic because it emphasises the youth of the characters whilst keeping a very lighthearted and comedic tone.

Boomerangs and Rainbows by mindbending

At Sokka’s behest, the Gaang skips rescuing Zuko during the Siege at the North Pole. Instead they leave him, unconscious, buried in the snow. In completely unrelated news, Sokka’s haunted by a ghost now.

a zukka fic with a very creative concept and outstanding writing. do not be put off by the major character death tag, as the guy in question still hangs around regardless. plus, i like how the fic also gives the other characters their time to shine, instead of simply focusing on the main pairing

Spirits Help Us, There’s Two of Them by hopepunk

Sokka and Zuko are both weird guys. Fortunately, they're the same kind of weird as each other.

another zukka fic that definitely deserves the clown-to-clown communication tag. the whole thing is wildly absurd and yet still sweet, and the other character’s bafflement towards their craziness is hilarious!

We all got locations that occur in dreams multiple times, right? Like our mindscapes have our own planet(s) and that's just stuff that's on it and our dreams just take us to a random location on the mind planet or something- that's just the best way I can describe it.

Anyhoo

Last night I saw a place I call "the dark school". It is a school that apparently takes place at normal school hours(?) but it's dark all the time and often filled with ghosts and sometimes fictional characters are trapped there with me and I prioritize helping them escape over my own wellbeing. The dark school is often the site of unsettling dreams; not flat out nightmares, just generally unsettling stuff. Not quite terrifying - just unnerving.

Last night I found out it has a flooded basement and I got to explore it. And I had to get the help of a witch that appeared in a recent nightmare. This is my second encounter with her but unlike the previous time, she's not boiling and eating people or summoning demons. That's her night job I guess. She's a teacher at the dark school during the day. I never seen her at the dark school until now though. The nightmare I first saw the witch in depicted a place I can't tell if I've seen before but it was-- bad.

I needed her help to find the cause of some radioactive pink glitter trying to bring color into this dark place and she was more than willing to help in order to keep the dark school dark. (Meanwhile, I just mainly didn't like that the radioactive pink glitter interrupted my adventure in the flooded basement- that's not to say that I wasn't annoyed at the glitter ruining the cool fantasy darkness vibe the dark school has going on- I definitely wasn't happy with the glitter trying to ruin the aesthetic- but my main concern was my adventure being interrupted)

That's not why I brought up this dream though. I just wanted to mention about the really cool flooded basement on the side.

The real reason I wanted to bring up this dream is because something really funny happened at the dark school for once. Megaman X and Zero were there along with Megaman exe and Roll exe. The four of them were hiding under a huge truck in the dark school parking lot. I saw Roll putting a bomb down near them and I pointed it out to the other 3. This caused Megaman exe to immediately disable the bomb and shout "Roll! You can't blow people up just because you're nervous!" and it was just hilariously bizarre. Then they all just left

Floyd

Lilith much like a lot of things do to the fact she is an orphan an a child never learned how to swim. Floyd couldn’t have been more thrilled about this news! because that means he can teach her to swim. Though for the most part he teases her on how slow she is an that her legs are small. But despite those teases he does actually show her how to swim

“Can’t have our little shrimpy drown what would the other shrimps think!” - very happy Floyd.

Floyd is also Lilith's number 1 babysitter for the soul reason that Floyd will just scoop her an carry her off to go play somewhere even while she is in the middle of being cared for by other students or teachers. Takes her to get ice cream or gets her the potion to breath underwater so he can take her to cool places under the sea.

The main downside to this besides the kidnapping of course is the fact that when his mood drops he might forget where he put Lilith an take a nap leaving Lilith lost in a place she has never been. Thankfully he is able to find her when his mood is back but this has gotten him chewed out by staff an Azul as well as his brother. After all ocean isn’t a safe place to leave a kid

“Lilith doesn’t have claws or sharp teeth an she only recently learned to swim what if she had run into a shark while you were napping!!!!!!!!!!” - a very livid Azul

Lilith doesn’t mind these excursions sense Floyd is always very nice even if it can be in a teasing manner sometimes. She honestly thinks that Floyd is a kid like her just very tall. He’s always willing to go along with her games or her made up ones so she always has a blast with Floyd. She doesn’t understand his mood drops she just knows one minute they are hanging out an the next he’s either gone or asleep.

Jade

Jade does find Lilith’s situation amusing that Crowley allowed basically two children to be half a hole student he finds hilarious. After all Lilith is only just learning how to spell an she is now expected to help grim with college tests?

he does admire her effort to learn as much as she can an how happy she is to do so even if she doesn’t understand what people tell her the majority of the time. To that end Jade is more then happy to share info about his love of the mountains an outdoors to lil ol Lilith.

“I made you breakfast today, no worries you needn’t thank me I just had some left overs of my last excursion” - Jade who is totally not at all thrilled that he can slowly make Lilith like mushrooms thus give him a great excuse to bring more home with him.

Jade has laid witness to a lot of Lilith vocalized misunderstandings/just all around statements an questions that if anyone else said them they would have been beaten up on the spot but sense Lilith is a child is exempt from those punishments. he has written some of his favorites in his notebook

“wow Riddle you’re a kid just like me an you became a hole dorm head that's so cool” - Lilith who says this in a very sincere way who thinks that Riddle is a really cool ‘kid’ just like her.

“people fly on brooms so does that mean i can fly on mops?? or um vacuums!?” - Lilith really wants to know.

“if a merman eats fish does that mean they ate a family members!” - Lilith ask’s threw tears after Floyd ate some takoyaki an told Lilith that he was eating Azul’s family.

“ghosts can go threw walls an doors how come there cloths go with them? if i wore ghost shirt would it go threw me?” - Lilith asks while Jade is tucking her into bed.

Azul

After the very much failed attempt to get Lilith to sign a contract Azul has very mixed feelings on Lilith. on one hand easy target on the other hand after chatting with Lilith she has had a very similar experience to him in the way of getting bullied for things she had no control over.

for the most part Azul usually charges Grim or Crowely on anything he does to help Lilith with like making sure she actually has dinner or swimming lessons with Floyd The list goes on.

Azul more then likely teaches Lilith how to have better hand writing an spelling. Sense Lilith as a kid will just say what's on her mind Azul has gotten his hands on embarrassing stories on the other students. But also a hit list on people he will have Floyd an Jade make a visit to, to have a nice friendly chat with on how to treat their fellow students.

“he said a lot of no no words i can’t say an told me that he’d beat me up if he saw me again” - Lilith says while writing a sentance in cursive that Azul gave her to do while they talked.

“oh? did this fine gentlemen give you his name?” - a very much livid Azul who can’t wait to extort this asshole out of existence.
