"What if my favourite show is delayed due to writers strike?"
With respect, no one cares about your favourite tv shows.
This is about real people fighting for their real livelihoods, for their futures.
I cannot articulate sufficiently how unimportant the production of some tv show or other is.

Heyyowhattup! Cub foods strike this weekend! All the cub foods in the Twin Cities metro area unionized with UFCW local 663 are striking and you should get out there and hold the line with them.
heres a map of all the stores Do a cub crawl and see whos parking lot got the best snacks and chants. If there's a store that's open go in and ask for the manager and tellem Jonas says they're a rat, then shoplift as much as you can carry on your way out 🐀
I want my pals to not be exploited! But that's not the extent of what we need from a union. It's not enough to want a "fair share" of the wealth america extracts from the rest of the world. We cant be the exceptions to capitalism, we need to be it's destroyers. Lets learn our power and sharpen our claws and make bosses across Minnesota feel kinda weird!

meta, bytedance, and openai (facebook, tiktok, and chat gpt) have been paying workers in africa $1.50 an hour to moderate their ai. those workers are now unionizing, which has gotten a lot of press. however the really important part will come when those workers begin negotiations. keep an eye out in the future for any support they may need. this is going to be a big fucking battle against these massive, super protected entities just to not be paid starving wages

“Time theft” is the boss’s term for not breaking our necks on the job to increase their profits.
If you’re not an EMT, maybe take a breather. Your job probably isn’t life or death.

Hello Tumblr!
Do you like bookstores? Do you like unions? Do you like bookstores having unions?
Answer yes to any of those questions, and boy howdy, do I have a call to action for you.
Half Price Books employees at several locations across the country have organized and, after months of being dehumanized by corporate lawyers, have finally reached the financial part of their contract! Hurray!
Except not hurray, because they are refusing to even budge on giving anything more than a pathetic 1% increase. And what’s worse, is the offer is actually a thinly veiled 6-7% pay cut, due to taking away quarterly bonuses that make up so much of the employees’ income.
There’s thankfully something you can do about it though! The unionized workers are partnered with UFCW, and they have made a website that has made it super easy to tell Half Price Books that you think their employees deserve a living wage.
The company has proven that it cares a great deal about its image, so any public support can give the bargaining employees a lot more power over their contracts. It only takes a couple minutes to fill out and any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Companies That Union-Bust Must Now Automatically Recognize Union, NLRB Rules
The National Labor Relations Board issued a ruling on Friday that changes the framework for unionizations, making it easier for workers to organize and harder for companies to fight back against them.
The new process comes as part of a decision in the case between Cemex Construction Materials Pacific, LLC and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, where the Board found that the employer had committed over 20 “instances of objectionable or unlawful misconduct” between the filing of the union election petition and the election itself, intending to dissuade workers from organizing.
