Bumping Beach Bikini - Rooster
Pairing: Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw / Wife!Reader
Word Count: 0.8k
This work, all my works, and my entire blog are 18+ Only
Warnings: Pregnancy; References to Sex/Suggestive Jokes; Flirting; Use of Second Person POV “You,” No Physical Description of Reader (Minus Pregnancy), No Y/N
Summary: Rooster admires the view of his pregnant wife on the beach.
Master List
Tumblr media
Bradley had a mental list of the best outfits that he had ever seen you in. There wasn’t a set ranking, just general levels of appreciation.
There was a step above your normal beauty and allure, which mostly included random casual outfits that for whatever reason just got him going. Like the yellow sundress that you wore when it was exceptionally hot out that was super easy to slide his hands under. Or those jean shorts that he loved to slip his hand into the back pocket and give your ass an appreciative squeeze. Or anything of his that you chose to wear.
And the step above those were your slightly dressier outfits that got him even more excited. The backless black dress that you wore out in Vegas when the two of you went out with the Dagger Squad. Or the blue floor length dress that you wore to Maverick and Penny’s wedding that looked like it was literally sculpted for you and your figure. Though he did rip the zipper on that one.
Then there were the more special outfits. Your wedding dress mostly, since he literally burst out into tears the second that he saw you step out in it. The photo of you that he kept in his cockpit was from your wedding day with your veil spread out around you, giving you a completely angelic appearance. And, well, Rooster was also very fond of the matching white lingerie set that you wore underneath it that night too. He did rip that one too though.
And at the very top of the pyramid of his favorite outfits was, of course, your birthday suit. Nothing would ever top that one.
But seeing you in a maternity bikini with one of his Hawaiian shirts wrapped around your shoulders and your baby bump sticking out from between the folds of his shirt—now that was a sight that he ingrained into his mind for the rest of his life. That one really challenged your birthday suit in his mind.
“What?” you laughed, shooting your husband a look as you applied more sunscreen. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
“You’re glowing,” Bradley praised, still taking in your beauty.
“With sweat,” you giggled, rubbing in another layer of sunscreen. “It’s only spring and I swear I’m melting already.” You set down the tube of sunscreen and shot your husband a playful look. “You just had to make sure that I was heavily pregnant during the hottest months of the year in Southern California, didn’t you, Bradshaw?”
“Maybe you should have done the math before you begged me to get you pregnant,” Bradley replied, a bit smugly.
“I don’t beg,” you scoffed, shooting him a look. “And besides you offered about fifty times before I let you. If anyone was begging, it was you, Bradley.”
“I suppose you’re right,” Rooster mused, smiling over at you.
There was one rule to surviving with a heavily pregnant wife—it was to let you win. On just about everything. Anything health or safety wise, he would argue back, but Rooster took a rain check on all of the little things. And frankly he got more satisfaction out of seeing you happy than being right.
“Do you have enough water?” Rooster asked, sitting up some more.
You reached over and lifted your giant water bottle into the air. Taking a long sip from it just to prove your point to your husband, you set your water bottle back down on the sand.
“I’m fine. Just need some time to relax,” you replied, leaning back in your seat. “Before it all really sets in.”
Reaching down to pick up your ankle, Rooster started to massage your foot, earning a sigh of relief from your lips. Practically melting into your chair, you turned to your husband with a small, thankful smile as you curled your toes a bit.
“I could get used to this.”
“I’m sure you could,” Rooster chuckled, rubbing the back of your calf.
“There’s only one thing that would make this better.”
“What?”
“Take your shirt off.”
“Mrs. Bradshaw,” Rooster jokingly admonished, causing you to smile wider. “Be careful suggesting that. I knocked up the last woman who asked me to take my shirt off in that tone.”
“I’ll take the risk,” you replied with a smile, rubbing your bump slowly.
“So long as you understand the risk,” Rooster returned with a wink.
“Jesus Christ, the rest of us are trying to eat here,” Phoenix cut in, sounding annoyed.
You and Rooster turned to the other Daggers, Maverick, and Penny, who was hiding an amused smile behind her hand. Maverick turned to Penny with a similar expression, shaking his head. But most of the other Daggers, those who were single anyways, shot both you and Rooster somewhat disgusted looks.
“Sorry,” you called sheepishly, waving to them.
“I’m not,” Rooster replied, reaching up to take his shirt off.

Drunkenly In Love
Tumblr media
Bucky Barnes x Avenger!reader
IN WHICH you and Bucky ‘accidentally’ get married after a drunken game of truth or dare with the avengers.
WC: 5.4k
Warnings: Alcohol consumption, nausea, mentions of puke, drunken decisions, suggestive, angst?.
A/N: In this Bucky and Steve are able to get at least a bit drunk with Asgardian liquor.
Tumblr media
Your throat burnt as the alcohol downed its way into your system, but you couldn’t find it in yourself to put the bottle down. None of you could in fact, and it started to look less like the avengers and more like a squad of alcoholics. Nevertheless, you all deserved a night of getting completely shitfaced after saving the world once again, and so this was what you all were doing.
It was relaxing to see the people that usually stayed sober to care for you all, finally give in to the sheer pleasure of the buzz. What was even funnier, was seeing your teammates with ‘high tolerances’ like Bucky and Steve succumb to the venomous call of Thor’s Adgardian liquor. It wasn’t enought you get them as fucked up as the rest of you, considering that the serum made them filter alcohol way faster than it should. However the mere strength of it gave them a good couple of minutes of intoxication, and with teammates like you and Tony around, a couple of minutes were definitely enough to stir some trouble.
Trouble, the nickname that had been given to you by the team. The notorious partner in crime of none other than Iron Man and The Falcon themselves. You loved stirring trouble and pulling harmless pranks on your teammates, whether it’d be adding food colouring to Steve’s shampoo, which definitely left him a little confused and a little pink for the rest of the week. Or like that one time you and Tony had placed glitter bombs around the tower. Except that one wasn’t as funny as you had originally planned, because having the former Black Widow chasing after you was not the definition of fun.
Past your playful exterior, you were always a teammate that your friends relied on. The rest of the avengers loved you like you were their own sibling, and you’d found sisterhood in the presence of Wanda and Nat. They saw past your flaws and the lack of control that you had with your own powers when you first joined the team, and instead helped you with and through those obstacles like a real family should.
It took you a while to break through Bucky’s tough exterior, but you didn’t expect any less from the Ex Hydra soldier that was constantly haunted by the memories of what he’d done. Even if none of it was his fault, as you’d remind him constantly, you knew that it was always hard for him to accept when every time he’d close his eyes he was flashed with the images of his hands covered in blood, nobody else’s but his.
Your outgoing personality also made it very hard to connect with him, because he felt that someone with so much potential of making other friends than ones as messed up in the head as him should go on and do so, but you had never given up. And you were glad that you hadn’t, because over the years, you’d grown fond of seeing that warm smile lift upon his lips at the very rare occasions.
-
Everything had started out as a shitty game of truth or dare, truly. After Bruce had chosen truth once too many times and Thor kept on complaining that his dares were too ‘serene’, your true mastermind had truly come to show.
“Come closer dude, we literally can’t see you,” you called out to Thor, throwing an arm over his shoulders to bring him closer to you as you both sat on the luxurious yet oddly long sofa in the Stark Tower. Your front camera was on, an out-of-frame picture of yours and Thor’s forehead being snapped as your hand trembled too much, and the beefy blond was far too impatient for you to retake.
You’d posted a story on the Avengers instagram account with the encouragement of your peers, and of course the worrying of a typsy Steve. It was probably the worst idea that you could have come up with, because after solely a couple minutes of posting a ‘send us dares’ story, your phones began to blow with notifications.
It took you all a solid minute to reassemble everyone together to start reading the messages, and you ignored the far too crude ones as you moved to the funny ones. Cue the loud ringing of Sam and Thor’s laughter combined and minutes later, you’d all decided on a couple of ones for the night.
I’d started off with things such as vision, who he was solely participating in because everyone was borderline pressuring him
It’d started off with things such as a very sober vision, who was solely participating because everyone was borderline pressuring him due to his lack of ability when it came to being influenced by alcohol, give the AI a break. He had been dared to recreate the spaghetti scene from ‘Lady and The Tramp’ with Clint. Needless to say that they both broke apart the spaghetti centimetres apart, unable to stop the roaring of laughter from raising up their throats.
Next thing you know is that Wanda was wrapped in toilet paper like a damned mummy, and Tony revealed his inner Magic Mike. But the man used to be a legitimate whore, so it was nothing surprising really. You all had realised somewhere along the night that you’d been acting a little too much like children considering your ages, and instead of switching back to your professional selves, you decided to empty another bottle or two for the night.
What you hadn’t expected for the night however, was the bold and surprising request of ‘Marry the person to your left’ that was now sitting in your inbox. It sounded so stupidly thought of that you could practically tell that it was coming from a kid, but something inside of you couldn’t care less about the future repercussions of going further on with the dare.
In fact, you felt your drunken heart accelerating its pace when you were met with the sight of the one and only Bucky Barnes sitting to your left. It did not help that you had been attracted to the man for what seemed like 2 years now, yet you hardly acted on those feelings. It was easier to pretend like your admiration towards the super soldier was nonexistent rather than face his rejection. The rejection that you thought he’d give you if you ever confessed, but if only you knew.
If only you knew how many nights he’d been spending up rethinking the amount of interactions he could’ve sparked with you if he hadn’t been so hesitant. If only you knew how much Bucky yearned to confront his own self about his self deprecating issues, but deep down he knew that he was right. He knew that a person as charismatic and chaotic as you did not deserve to be chained to a person as grumpy and boring as him.
You considered shying away when the whole team turned to you asking what your dare was, but it’d be a direct giveaway of your feelings towards the brunette once they’d hear what your dare was. Instead you’d feigned the shock that you had initially felt before the warmness of your imagination seeped in, the thoughts of you being married to Bucky making your brain short circuit.
“Woahhh and would you look at that,” the lack of surprise in your voice was masked by the slur of your words because of how much you’d drank, and you were glad that everybody else had ingurgitated just as much as you because their faces showed no sign of suspicion as they waited for you to turn your phone around. The first person that you had shown it to was whoever was to your right, and that just happened to be Sam and Scott.
The duo squealed like little girls at the sight of the dare, but the Falcon’s eyes widened comically as he eyed who exactly was at your left. He’d snatched your phone instantly to show the others, and no matter how much you protested for him to hand it back to you, Sam was like an annoying big brother to you. There was no way you’d be getting it back unless you forcedly found a way to.
The three other girls in the tower had their hands over their mouths as they read the exact words that this random person had sent you, and Wanda looked more excited than you were. You’d beg her to exchange dares with her if it wasn’t for the bulky super soldier’s family name being on the line, and you had no issue with becoming Mrs.Barnes.
Steve and Bucky on their sides sat there confused as everyone kept on basking Bucky some shocked and amazed looks, which was starting to irritate him greatly because everybody was taking so much time with the phone and nobody was even voicing out what the damned dare was. His vexation had lasted for minutes until the phone had been personally placed in his hands by no other than Sam himself.
Bucky placed the phone between himself and Steve as their quick eyes skimmed over the text. His only physical reaction to the words was the raise of his eyebrows, but fuck was his heart stammering against his rib cage at a faster pace than the speed at which Steve ran his morning rounds. His reaction had you internally pausing all other thoughts as you imagined that he was slightly disgusted at the idea.
You knew that he had a dream of domesticity back in the 40’s, but you knew that no man would like to be forced into a marriage with a woman that they didn’t want to marry. And although Bucky admired you in much more than a platonic way, that you didn’t know of yet, he hadn’t necessarily imagined himself being married to you. He was still figuring out how to ask you out without pussing out at the last minute, which had happened to him about 5 times now. Needless to say that Sam had made fun of him all five times.
He was internally turmoiled, and if not for the alcohol running thick in his system, he’d say no. He’d refuse and say that you deserved better than him and some shitty ceremony based on some even shittier dare. But he couldn’t physically say it now, not when his better judgement was affected and the alcohol let the side that was fond of you control him.
You were about to open your mouth to tell him that it was okay, that he could decline or worse, you could find another partner. Even if you didn’t want to marry anyone else than him, even less for a game. Yet he cut you off with a deep laugh that startled everyone in the room, it was not sardonic but rather held an amusing tone to it.
Bucky shook his head as he stood up to look at you, grasping your hands in his bigger ones like some romance movie sap. The Cheshire grin on his face made you want to melt into putty in his embrace, and his stupidly plain words had you doubling back.
“So…what time’s the wedding?”
-
“Hurry up, you’re gonna be late to your own wedding!” the teasing sound of Wanda’s voice called out to you, accent thick in her tone. The guys had already rushed your soon-to-be groom into Tony’s room to get him ready, much to the billionaire’s dismay. You couldn’t help but laugh your entire way towards the room, you face up towards the ceiling as you giggled like a mad woman.
Wanda dragged you by the arm and into Nat’s room, who was nose deep inside her wardrobe in search of an appropriate dress for your ‘wedding’. You’d be searching through Pepper's closet given that she had a wider selection, but you couldn’t go there given that the boys were dressing Bucky up in Tony and Pepper’s shared room.
“What about this one? Or- No, this one!” you snapped your head towards the sound of Wanda’s voice, only to catch her with two dresses in hands. Except these two dresses had little to nothing to do with a wedding, yet alone being the bride to that wedding, but this was Nat’s wardrobe after all. The black Maxi dress in her hands was the definition of the former Black Widow’s wardrobe, tight, dark and sexy if anything.
You didn’t have much say in the decision because soon enough the two girls were on you, shoving your limbs and whatnot through the holes of the dress to drape it over you. You couldn’t lie when you said that it did fit you well, the stretchy fabric of the dress squeezing and moulding into your body in every way that it should. The dress finished by your ankles, accompanied by spaghetti straps and a pair of pretty heels that had been shoved in your hands for you to slip on.
Given that the dress did in fact go braless, you did have a little worry about how the chilly air outside would mix with that, but you were far too gone to even care. With some final touches and a brush of makeup, you were finally ready to meet your to-be husband.
As a kid you’d always imagine your wedding scene to be much more emotional than this. You’d imagine yourself in some stupid movie scene where you’d cry at the first sight of your husband, but now the only tears you were holding back were the ones you were getting from laughing so much. Pepper had to slap you on the back to straighten up after you’d crumpled down from laughter, and you had yet to even meet up with Bucky.
You could hear the loud and deep voices of the other men past the long hallway that you were currently walking in, and you mentally cursed Tony for being so rich and having such a big Tower because hell were your feet already hurting in those heels.
“Here comes the bride!” The sudden entrance of Clint’s excited voice made your eyes snap upwards, and you instantly realised that you had finally left the never ending hallway. All eyes were on you, but instead of judging your odd wedding outfit, you were relieved to hear their cheers. You couldn’t even tell why you’d gotten anxious about your team being unaccepting of your fit when that odd dare was the genesis of this whole moment.
Bucky stood out in his black suit amongst the other ‘underdressed’ avengers, and when your eyes met with the familiar blue ones amongst all the others, suddenly all you could focus on was him. Not on your friends around you half heartedly arguing about whether you guys looked like the Addams couple or Lydia Deetz and Beetlejuice because of your attire. In the most adoring way possible, of course.
Your gaze never left his accept when his eyes cast down to scan your outfit, and you could’ve sworn that there was even more adoration swirling in his baby blue iris when they went back up to meet with yours again. This was at last a little bit how you had expected your wedding to go as when you were a kid, all until…
The loud laughter erupting out of your throats rebounded against the tower’s walls, making you both sound way louder than you actually were. The rest of your friends didn’t even bother with the both of you, just talking over your laughter as you doubled over at how stupid this whole situation was. Yet again you couldn’t take anything seriously when you were sober, now imagine yourself when a drop of alcohol entered your system.
The sound of Bucky’s laughter was something that you didn’t know you needed today, but fuck did it sound like heaven. You wanted him to keep on laughing like this forever, for that wide smile on his face to stay instead of that usual scowl he wore on his face. You wanted Bucky to continue being so happy and carefree like this, you wanted to keep on making Bucky so happy like this.
Nevertheless your little moment was shortly interrupted by Wanda yet again grasping onto your arm, this time with a little more pressure as Happy’s impatient honking could be heard all the way from up here in the Tower. As you left, Bucky couldn’t help but keep his eyes glued to your retreating form. Before Steve came to shake his shoulders playfully from the back, muttering something that you couldn’t hear or even care about from where you were, but it didn’t fail to make heat creep up Bucky’s neck.
-
The ride in Stark’s limousine was just as fun as the rest of the night itself, except that now they were popping a bottle of champagne to honorate your soon to be ‘wedding’. Honestly you had up to zero idea as to how all of your stomachs could support so much liquids in one night, but you were 100% sure that Happy had snuck in sparkling juice inside the limousine fridge because he was starting to get a little worried. The sight of Scott literally gagging while trying to keep everything down his throat nearly made you puke everything that you’d drank throughout the night, but you forced your glance away from the man to avoid any accidents.
The poor bruce looked drunkenly traumatised as Tony conducted a little karaoke at the back of his limousine, which was the least surprising for the billionaire. You got a good laugh once more out of the ride, which was heading towards somewhere for you both to sign the register and finally make you Mrs.Barnes. Oh and how many times had you dreamt of this moment before, yet it didn’t happen like this in your fantasy.
The car finally stopping signed a peace treaty for the poor nauseous scott, and he could finally breathe again without feeling like his stomach was flipping inside out. You all could barely even make it out of the car without stumbling your ways out. Fuck and how did you all even manage to get this fucked up? You couldn’t even remember the last time you’d gotten so drunk that you could barely even stand up straight, but it was most probably during your college years.
Being part of the troupe that saves the world from the devil's grip was not an easy job. There'd be days where you’d be gone for weeks on nothing else but a simple mission, and you couldn’t even guarantee that you’d even return as a whole from the other ones. So while you could, you’d enjoy your holidays and be free, fuck if it meant playing some stupidly childish game of drunken truth or dare.
All eyes were of you guys from the moment you’d stepped out of the limousine and into the courthouse. Of course Tony hadn’t reserved a normal courtroom in some random courthouse, no instead he’d reserved you the most pristine and elegant one you’d ever seen. The marble stairs and luxurious railings left you speechless, but yet you couldn’t expect little if it was coming from one and only Iron Man.
A civil ceremony wasn’t what the little you had envisioned for her big day, but her dreams were being forgotten today because you were still young and you could always have a traditional wedding ceremony afterwards if this one didn’t satisfy you anyways.
You received a bunch of odd looks from whoever was working at the courthouse as you made way into the room. Either from the fact that you were dressed the furthest away from what a bride usually looks like, or from the amount of noise that your team was making. The officiant clearly looked like he wanted to tell you to rethink this, perhaps when you were sober and stable enough to actually think. Though Tony had paid him a stack of cash high enough for him to keep quiet, but his eyes were speaking for himself.
“Look at my children, they’re growing up so fast!” Same wiped a fake tear on his face as he tried to conceal his laughter as sobs. Scott besides him was wiping tears too, though his didn’t quite seem fake…
Like any wedding ceremony, you’d all taken some corny pictures that you could laugh at while sitting by a campfire in a couple of years. You’d decided that the bride would take pictures with the groomsmen and the groom would take pictures with the bridesmaids, because this was no ordinary wedding, so you might as well make it laugh worthy. One of your matching pictures had you standing perched on both of Steve’s and Scott’s shoulders as they both held onto your ankles in case you happened to slip back. The rest of the boys you considered family posed in the most boyish yet stupidly cute pose as the flash blinded the whole of you.
In your husband’s photos, Bucky was being suspended up in the air as some red aura kind of magic enveloped him. Queue an annoyed looking Pepper and Natasha standing besides Wanda as she lifted the man up in the air, their arms crossed across their chests as they gave Bucky an unimpressed look. The annoyance was all pretend, considering that after the camera’s click went off, they all rekindled their cheerful selves.
“You guys need to end the night with a kiss, there’s no bride or groom going back home right now before you guys smooch!” Wanda slurred, her cheeks pink from the heat of the alcohol. Vision had to keep an arm around her waist at all times in case she fell over, and the AI sighed at everyone’s stupidity. At this point you were sure that everyone in the courtroom other than you guys was starting to get irritated with the noise so you decided to cut this short and just sign the damn papers already.
Except that now everyone was pressing on to what Wanda had said, and your nerves were running thick. You wanted to with no doubt, kiss the extremely handsome super soldier that you were somewhat about to marry, but you feared that you’d be going too far. Sure this whole thing was a whole joke, so what if he’d agree for the sake of the joke as well? You could always dream and delude yourself about the fact that he’d actually accepted the dare because he liked you just like you did him but you’d never know until you asked.
Instead, you stayed quiet and tried to ignore the high pitched yelling coming from your teammates as the officiant passed you the pen. Your hand shook as you stared at the paper before you, and for a second you had to remind yourself that none of this was real. And so finally, you bent over to sign the papers that laid on a strangely low table.
Natasha’s teasing wolf whistle made your nerves dissipate and a goofy smile crawl up your face as she called you out for your position, or rather the way that your dress was tightening further with the position. Your hands were swift as you worked on the signature, little to no care for the lines of text that you were supposed to consider before officially tying yourself to the man that would also sign the same paper.
You watched with a grin as Bucky approached the table to do the same, teasingly getting into the same position as you previously were to hear the loud screeching cheers of your teammates. You watched as he signed the paper off with the flick of his wrist, a hidden elegance in the way he moved being a surprise turn on for you.
Bucky had not even had time to barely stand back up straight again before you had both started getting bombarded with a ‘kiss to seal the deal’ request from your friends, and you did agree that it’d only make sense to kiss your other half on your wedding day. You didn’t want to make it seem like you were all too eager to smooch the former Winter Soldier, although on the inside you were shaking with anticipation.
His touch took you off guard as you felt time stop as his large palm slotted itself in the crevice of your back, the warmth of his hand seeping through the dress. You felt as he pulled you closer to him with that hand, but you couldn’t look elsewhere than his eyes. You got the moto to finally close your eyes instead of staring at him like some creep as you felt his other palm closing on your cheek. Your palms came to rest on his chest as he dipped you like in those cheesy rom coms from the 40’s, and you guessed that was his inspiration.
The kiss was much needed, you felt like it’d cut through some of the tension that you’d both built throughout the past months. Bucky’s nose flashed against yours as he kissed you with need, near desperation. His lips slotted over yours perfectly, the slight dip of his head making you go feral as he reached deeper like he was trying to devour you whole.
Asif you and your friends couldn’t get any louder, their yelling had yet ceased to stop. Truly a sight for the people who knew the Avengers as the universe’s saviour. The end of the night had left a usually happy and unusually smiling Bucky, and not to forget, the whole group of tipsy Avengers in the back.
The initial energy that you all had at the start of the day had eventually worn out by the time you were making your way back to the car. It didn’t mean that the ride back was silent though, you’d all participated in a round of karaoke before sitting down and finally for the first time this entire night, calmly talking like normal people.
-
Waking up with a pounding headache and no water in sight wasn’t necessarily the best way to wake up, but that’s how Bucky’s morning was going anyway. The plush mattress felt uncomfortable to him, and Bucky wondered what he was even doing on a bed considering he’d gotten used to sleeping on the floor ever since his Soldat days. His eyes held a grogginess that irritated him, in fact everything from the scratchy material of the cotton sheets to his headache was annoying him, and he could blame nothing else but the trace of alcohol that he knew he’d drunk yesterday night.
It was obvious that he was under the influence yesterday and had gotten back home just as faded, because he could feel the fabric of a suit on his body as his hands roamed freely. His pants were still fastened on with the tight belt, which he’d removed with a content sigh. Bucky’s fingers rubbed at his eyes until he got most of the sleepiness out of them, but his muscles suddenly froze as the sound of shuffling beside him.
His heart stopped for a second, before resuming its pounding just 3x the original speed. He couldn’t remember much of yesterday, and surely not that he’d brought someone back home with him. He was relieved at the memory of his suit still very much on him, the tight belt telling him that it hadn’t been removed ever since he’d put it on him. He’d love to beat himself at the thought of having to pick up his courage to turn around and meet whoever was in his bed, given that a super soldier like him had gone through scarier scenarios.
His breath caught stuck in his throat as he turned around to be met with the sight of…you? It felt like the planet earth had stopped orbiting for a second as he felt ten times more dizzy than he’d felt at his wake. His confusion ran thick as he watched you comfortably snoozing off in his bed. His bed? Bucky thought about it again, there was no way that he wasn’t currently in the Stark Tower, and he could tell that the room looked nothing like his despite the little lighting that he had to observe his surroundings.
He was in your room, on your bed. How he’d arrive here was a mystery, but that was something to decipher later on. Bucky’s eyes gazed over your sleeping form, from the way your cheeks were adorably squished against your pillow with your hands tucked under them. His eyes trailed down towards your outfit, and he wanted to yell at himself for the way that he ogled a little too long at the sight of the thin, tight fabric resting against your chest. The dress was all out of place because of how much you’d move in your sleep, it looked like it would completely expose your breast if you moved just a little more.
Bucky felt much guilt coursing through his veins as he continued to eye you like some crude teenage boy, yet he couldn’t get himself to stop. He could’ve sworn that he had to hold himself back from drooling at the sight of your long dress all scrunched up around your hips, exposing a bit of your legs to him. The sheer black fabric left much to the imagination as it wrapped perfectly around your thighs, that were perfectly plumped out for him in the fetal position that you slept in.
He had to physically run a hand down his face to distract the flow of blood reaching the unconventional spot right now, and instead tried to focus on finding out how he’d end up here. Sure he had no problems with sharing a bed with you, matter of fact he’d dreamt of it for months now ever since he’d developed a ‘crush’ on you as Steve would annoy him with. Yet, he felt that it was wrong as he could clearly smell the pungent smell of liquor on the both of you.
He grunted as he sat up, cracking his back like the old man that he was. Bucky checked up on you once more to find you peacefully sleeping the morning away, probably due to the amount that you drank yesterday, yet he didn’t care because it looked like you were having the best sleep of your life. As he fumbled with something along your bedside table, Bucky’s hand accidently came to crumble the side of a piece of paper.
Cursing to himself, he grabbed the sheet to try and smooth it out before you killed him for messing with your shit. Though he cared little for what that paper was, the words in bold ‘Marriage’ that he’d caught in the corner of his eye had surprised him, so he allowed himself to peek a little into your private life. A sudden new fear coursed through his body as he looked back at you for another second. Were you married and living a double life? Fuck, now he felt even more shitty as he laid on a bed with you, what would your husband think of all of this? Was your husband a shitty guy? Was that why you’d never mentioned him?
All sorts of questions ran through his head, but not once had he berated or blamed you in his head. He knew that you were nothing more than loyal, so it confused him even more as to how wedding papers were just casually laying there on the table. However, as he opened the sheet of paper to pry into your life, his heart stopped at the clear handwriting that could belong to nobody else than him. His signature and name needed no explanation or proof, they were all clearly written by him.
Bucky’s heart picked up the pace once more, only this time he felt like he was going to have a panic attack like he did after reliving his horrors through nightmares. He could barely remember shit of what had happened last night, and next thing he knows, he’s waking up next to the woman he fancies and apparently they’re married?
He fumbled with the paper in a stressed out attempt at scampering, he needed answers, and if nobody had them then he surely knew that the multiple cameras around the Tower had them. He needed to talk to Steve about this mess, and as he prepared to stand up, he froze at the sound of your yawn. He laid there unmoving for a solid minute, wishing that you’d solely changed positions and went back to sleep. After a whole minute of silence, Bucky’s shoulders dropped in relief, all until-
“Bucky…?”

let’s pretend like the avengers are all united, happy and alive lmao:)

Alright, picture this. The reader’s a complete pest to 141, but Ghost in particular. Nothing too serious- but they’re always stealing stuff and messing with Ghost. Think Rouge and Knuckles from sonic.
They’re enemies, no doubt about it, but they don’t exactly hate each other. Eventually, one thing leads to another, and Ghost teaches them a lesson. But, not that the reader’s complaining..
Maybe he keeps her alive as his trophy wife, or something? I don’t know why, but the thought of him turning a villain into a pretty little homemaker drives me FERAL

I CANNOT EXPRESS ENOUGH HOW FOND I'VE BECOME OF THE ENEMIES TO LOVERS TROPE-- Enjoy!~
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You were chopping up vegetables when you heard the door shut rather violently. All of your instincts from years on the run kicked in, and you crept around the corner with your knife in hand. "That better be you Simon Riley," you barked into the darkness of your living room.
"Who the hell else lives here?" Simon growls back, clearly not in the mood to be snapped at. You breathe a heavy sigh as his mask comes into view by the low light of the kitchen. "Put the knife down, it's been too long of a day."
"Well unfortunately for you," you say, swaying your hips as you saunter back to your cutting board. "I need this knife for finishing dinner. Go get your eye shadow off and I'll have a hot cuppa ready for you when you're done."
"Cheeky little thing today you are," Simon mumbles before lumbering off to do as you asked. You made the best tea for him, that was something he'd certainly give you. "Reminds me of when we first met."
You shiver a little at the memories that bubble up when he says that. You could vividly remember those hands pinning you to the brick wall of the building behind you when Ghost finally caught up to you. You'd been tormenting him and his little squad for months, batting your eyelashes with coy smiles and blown kisses as you escaped his grasp time and time again.
"You are such a fucking tease you know that?" he'd growled when he finally had you pinned. You gasped a little as his strong hands pulled your pants and underwear down in one smooth motion so they pooled around your ankles. The fact that you couldn't see what he was doing and roughly he was handling you had your cunt absolutely dripping. "Time you learned a lesson."
His words were dark as you felt him use the slick leaking from your slit to lube up his cock. A gloved hand covered your mouth as you moaned out when he entered you. "See sweetheart, that mouth of yours has such better uses than talking," he rumbled, a quiet groan escaping him.
The sex was rough and fast, something you'd never forget. You could practically feel his thick member pounding away at your cunt over and over when the high-pitched whistling of the tea kettle caught your attention. You shook your head as you rushed to take it off the heat, pouring it into the mug you'd set up for Simon.
A set of hands on your hips made you nearly jump out of your skin as the light stubble of your lover's chin rested against your shoulder. "Daydreaming again are we?" He hums, clearly very amused. "If you needed me to manhandle you again, all you had to do was ask love."
You bit your lip and rubbed your thighs together as his hands traveled up your waist and over your breasts, squeezing gently. "L-let me at least finish dinner first," you whine, gasping a little when his thumbs easily unhook your bra from it's clasp in the front.
"The appetizer can wait. I want the main course now."

hic-cup
Hashira x Reader, Kamaboko x Reader
Word Count: ~1,100
CW: dark humor
Emergency Request Fulfilled: Recently work has been very hectic, and I've been a little anxious about personal things...I really would like something cute! If possible, could you either do the Hashira, KNY squad, or the upper moons (you can pick! You write all of them super well!) With a reader who has bad, but very cute, hiccups?
~faqs~
When you have the hiccups…
… Zenitsu thinks you’re dying. Well. Not really, but the way you gasp for air and clutch your chest has him worried and running to get you water nonetheless. If you lie down on the floor, then he will lie down with you and press his ear to your heart, listening for irregularities.
… Inosuke’s overwhelmed by the urge to poke and squish and smoosh and squeeze you. “Stop that!” he growls, arms crossed irritatedly. “Stop wh-*hiccup*-what?” you huff. “THAT!” he shouts, pointing an accusing finger at you, “You sound so, so, so-” “So what?” “SO CUTE.” Eyes widening, your cheeks warm, nose scrunching, “Ino-*hiccup*suke, I-” “It’s like you want me to pop you,” he grumbles. “Pop me?????” “Stop being adorable so I can stop wanting to kill you.”
… Gyomei simply smiles every time you hiccup. Do not ask him to smack them out of you… a broken rib (or three) is much worse than the hiccups. “Pleeease? They won’t go awaaay!” “My love, you really shouldn’t ask me to harm you.” “Harm me?!” you scoff, “Don’t you have control or something?” Affronted, he nods slowly, “I suppose I have control…” “SO HIT ME.” Sighing, he lightly pats your back, whiiich doesn’t help, but it’s the thought that counts!
… Obanai pretends to be annoyed, but is lowkey disappointed when they eventually go away. “Shut up,” he scowls, glaring as you do your best to swallow another hiccup. “Can’t,” you mutter, flicking his shoulder, “They won’t g-*hiccup*-go away.” “Then I’ll make them,” he mutters darkly. “Oh really?” you raise an eyebrow, amused now, “And how exactly will you make them go away?” His mouth opens, closes, and opens again, exhaling loudly in defeat. “Admit it, they’re kinda cute,” you grin, nudging his side, “I’m kinda cute.” He doesn’t respond, opting instead to quickly peck your cheek, blushing profusely even as his glare deepens.
… Tanjirou has a plethora of ideas to ~help you. From having you chug a glass of cold water, finding a paper bag for you to breathe into, slicing a lemon for you to bite into, attempting to jump scare you, and making you hold your breath until you nearly pass out, he’s ultimately sorely defeated by your hiccups’ persistence. Hiccups 1: Tanjirou 0. When they finally disappear, you promptly credit his expertise and efforts, regardless of how delayed their effectiveness was.
… Mitsuri giggles until she also ends up with the hiccups. You’re just so darn beautiful, and your hiccups sound so darn happy! Like yawning near each other, if one of you hiccups, then the other is bound to follow.
… Shinobu offers you a sympathetic, “Oh dear,” paired with a fond smile, and continues about her day. If they’re persistent, then she’ll utilize the placebo effect in an attempt to help aka she’ll give you “medicine” (it’s sugar water, but sometimes it helps). Occasionally, she’ll ~threaten you, “If you hiccup again, then no kisses!” to a lesser degree of success, but it’s mostly endearing to watch you try so hard and fail so miserably (if this actually bothers you, then she only does it once, but it’s really just an inside joke).
… Kyojuro tries to get himself to hiccup too, but the man is Hiccup Proof™. “What’s your secret?!” you whine playfully, pouting as another hiccup jolts your body, “I swear you inhale all your meals, but never experience the hiccups!” “I keep nothing from you,” he frowns slightly, pressing a reassuring kiss to your cheek, “If I could provide better help, then I certainly would!” “Kyo, it was a rhetorical question.” “Rhetorical or not, if I knew a secret, then I would tell you!” “Sooo remind me to never tell you any secrets,” you chuckle, eyebrow raising pointedly. “My love, your secrets are safe with me!” he exclaims earnestly. “Just not anyone else’s?” you drawl teasingly. He pauses to consider your remark, and then shrugs nonchalantly, “Precisely.”
… Sanemi taxes you, and it increases exponentially. “Pay up,” he smirks, palm held upright toward you, “I heard that.” “Y’know, hiccuping isn’t a crime,” you mutter. “And you didn’t have to play along,” he grins smugly, “But you did.” “Well I felt badly about distracting you,” you retort, frowning as a thought occurs to you, “Although, now you’ve changed tasks completely!” “Have I?” he questions lightly, eyes widening innocently. “Yeah, all you’re focusing on is my hiccups and extorting me for spare change!” “If you stop hiccuping, then I could return to my earlier task.” “I can’t just st-*hiccup*-stop!” you whine, still dropping more coins into his hand, “You’re the worst.” “I love you,” he deadpans, winking as he pockets your money, “Maybe I’ll buy you something nice with my extra income.”
… Muichiro says, “Bless you,” after every single one. “But Muichiro, I didn’t snee-*hiccup*-sneeze!” “Bless you.” “Why are you-” “When you sneeze, for a moment, your soul leaves your body, and the blessing is to prevent it from being stolen, yes?” … “Yes?” “When you hiccup, are you not running the same risk?” … “No?” Unperturbed, he shrugs, smiling faintly, “Well, I appreciate you and your hiccups, so I suppose blessing you is my way of expressing my appreciation.”
… Giyuu’s constantly startled, even when you’re occupying the same space. *hiccup* Ah! his eyes widen, a subtle yet observable reaction to your sudden noisiness. *hiccup* Ah! he blinks, another subtle yet observable reaction. *hiccup* “Are you faking it?” he finally mutters, cheeks faintly flushed as he fixes a gentle stare on you. “Faking w-*hiccup*-what?!” “Your hiccups.” “Why would I fake having the hiccups???” “Never mind.” “Am I bothering you?” “Not quite,” he murmurs, reaching across the couch to squeeze your hand, “I hope they go away soon.” Smiling fondly, you raise his hand to your lips, kissing his knuckles, “Me t-*hiccup*-too!” No way is he admitting they ~frighten him.
… Tengen claps excitedly, enthusiastically celebrating your ~unique sound. “How flashy, my dear!” he exclaims with a grin. “Flashy?” you blink, unimpressed. “Hiccups are so rare and so fun!” he explains, “What an interesting phenomenon!” “You have a thing for hiccups,” you deadpan, eyes rolling. “Not at all! I’m just trying to support you through this unfortunate event.” Scoffing, you poke at his chest, “Sooo are my hiccups flashy or unfortunate?” “Both!”

Run Wild 5
Find the series masterlist
Your pack insists on making your life both easier and harder, and you're not entirely sure how to feel about things. The situation doesn't improve when you and Horangi go on an op together.
Warnings: Swearing, allusions to animal cruelty, Mink is having a hard time with her emotions, pack dynamics, shifter dynamics, flirting.

Tumblr media
The next few days passed in a blur. You couldn't have recited what you did if someone held you at gunpoint.
But you didn't spend a lot of time with your pack. The two men.
You weren't avoiding them, really. Not intentionally. Not really.
You just…
Your cheeks puffed out as you dropped to the dirt, going through a training exercise with a squad. No König today. No Horangi today.
Just training exercises.
You just needed to clear your head, that was all.
Breathing slowly, you focused on your task. Just a little longer and you'd be done for the day.
At least, that was the plan.
Until Horangi met you at the end of your exercise, arms crossed loosely over his chest, sunglasses as impenetrable as ever. You blinked at him.
“Come with me.” He uncrossed his arms, fingers twitching briefly. You nodded, falling in behind him, absently brushing yourself off.
He led you inside to the offices, though he didn't slow down even as your nose twitched in curiosity. You hadn't been in here often, and you wanted to explore. But Horangi didn't give you any time, just turning down a hallway, expecting you to follow him.
Which you did. Of course.
He stepped into a conference room and shut the door after you. König was already there waiting, leaned back against a wall, gaze fixed on the two of you.
“How are your recon skills?” Horangi turned to you as he asked, removing his sunglasses. The better to watch you, eyes dark and just a little narrowed.
“Good,” you said slowly, gaze darting between your two packmates. “Better if I can shift.”
Horangi nodded once, holding your gaze for a long moment before you blinked and looked away. “Good. We'll be going out on recon.”
“When?” You stood up a little straighter.
“Tomorrow. Briefing is officially in half an hour.” Horangi took one step closer to you, fingers closing around your wrist gently. “We will be the only two going in.”
“Two?” Your eyebrows shot up in surprise.
“I am not as skilled at recon,” König rumbled, faintly embarrassed. “I am too loud.”
Horangi chuffed, amused and fond. “Two,” he confirmed, still watching you closely. “Will that be a problem?”
“No, sir.” You refocused on your alpha, head tipping slowly to one side. “I can do it.”
His eyes crinkled the smallest amount, like he was smiling under the mask. “You don't even know what it is yet,” he teased.
You shrugged. “I can still do it,” you asserted with a brief flash of teeth. “I can do quiet.”
“Hm.” Horangi nodded again and released your wrist. “Get cleaned up, meet back here in twenty-five.”
You nodded, though for a moment you stood still, just looking at him. His eyes would be covered again for the briefing, you knew. So you soaked in the trust he showed for a moment longer before you stepped around him and left.
You had to clean up, after all.
But you made it back with two minutes to spare, sinking down into the seat next to Horangi. König was gone, though you didn't have a chance to do more than shoot Horangi a questioning look.
The briefing was, well, brief. Shorter than you'd expected, actually. You were being sent in to find some information, very quiet. Just you and Horangi, as he'd warned you before.
You didn't mind. You were good at recon.
The building was isolated, meaning a trip in a helo, then a drive. The two of you had a few hours before you'd leave, which gave you time to grab a few necessities.
The knock at your door startled you, and you paused with your hoodie in your hands. But you opened the door after a moment, curiosity winning.
König stood in the doorway, filling the entire thing, looking even broader than normal. He shifted his weight from foot to foot, seeming uncertain.
“König?” You blinked up at him. “Can I help you with something?”
He shook his head, hood shifting with the movement. “Here.” He thrust one hand at you, gloved fingers curled around a piece of fabric.
You took the fabric carefully, surprised at how soft it was. An old bandana, blue and black. Curious, you lifted your gaze to König again.
He shrugged, now-empty hand reaching back to rub the back of his neck. “Just in case,” he mumbled, gaze dropping.
“Thank you.” You pulled it closer, rubbing your thumb against it. “I'll bring it back.”
He shook his head again. “It's yours,” he said, speaking faster now. “A gift.”
Your lips parted, because that? Was very different from something borrowed.
“You will be late,” König fussed, taking a step back from the doorway. “Don't keep Horangi waiting.”
Before you could gather your thoughts to say anything, he was gone, long strides carrying him down the corridor and away from you.
You blew out a breath, letting your cheeks puff out. Well then.
He'd given you a gift. Something personal, given how soft the bandana was. And judging by the fact his scent had permeated the fabric entirely, as proven when you lifted it to your nose.
This was… unexpected.
But he was right, you didn't want to make Horangi wait. You hurried through getting ready, throwing your hoodie on last. Since this was a recon op, you were dressed down, no longer in uniform. Which suited you just fine.
Horangi was waiting for you at the helo, dark eyes giving you a swift once-over before he nodded his approval. He motioned you in first, settling next to you for the ride.
It felt odd to see him without his sunglasses - he wore them constantly, even sometimes in the pack room.
You only realized you'd been looking too long when one dark eyebrow arched at you.
“Something on your mind?” The words were almost teasing.
“Eh. Sort of.” You shrugged, forcing yourself to look away. “Just not used to seeing, y'know, that much of your face.”
He snorted softly, one hand landing on your knee. “If you spent more time in the pack room you'd see more,” he murmured, definitely amused now.
You huffed, playing at being indignant. “Yeah, sure.”
He eyed you but didn't push. For once. Instead he kept his hand on your knee for the rest of the flight.
The drive was a couple hours, and he wordlessly got in the driver's seat, leaving the passenger side for you. You briefly debated laying down for a nap in the back… but gave up on that immediately. You'd rather spend the time with Horangi.
“König gave me a gift,” you blurted, without really meaning to.
Horangi nodded. “I know.”
“He told you?”
“He didn't need to.”
You eyed him but he didn't look at you, hands steady on the wheel. “Did you talk about it before?”
Horangi hummed softly, gaze flitting to you. “Briefly, yes.”
You weren't quite sure how to feel about that, and so simply huffed softly.
“If you came into the pack room more often…” He trailed off.
“You've mentioned.” You blew out a breath. “I guess I'll have to.”
You almost missed the flicker of his lips into the barest smile. Almost.
But that humor was nowhere to be found when the two of you reached your destination. Horangi parked the car, and you took a moment to stretch. Dawn was still a few hours off yet, giving the two of you plenty of time to get this op done. As long as things didn't go totally sideways.
The last section of the journey was on foot, Horangi taking the lead. When he glanced back at you, you could just see the reflection in his eyes, undeniably green. Your lips twitched. What a cat, indeed.
The smell hit you first, and your nose wrinkled against your will. Filth and waste left to sit too long, the faint tang of rusted metal overlaying it. The animal musk seemed out of place, but then again, this far out from a city any number of critters could be living around the building. The building was long and squat, single story, no lights on.
“Here.” Horangi stopped at a window that had been left open a crack. “This will be the bathroom.”
You nodded, recalling the map the two of you had gone over hours earlier. “Ten minutes,” you agreed.
No more words passed between you as he boosted you up, and you pushed the window the rest of the way open to twist through. It was easier without gear in the way, but also left your shoulders and back tingling with the knowledge that you had nothing but fabric between you and any potential attack.
But you were good at being quiet and sneaky, as proven when you made your way through the building. Nothing moved around you as you crept down the hallway, checking your doors and corners as you went.
The smell got worse the further into the building you went. You opened the door at the end of the hallway and paused for a long moment, swallowing hard.
The big empty room you'd seen in the plans was not empty. Instead it held a dozen or so metal cages, each one housing a small furry critter. A few of them moved as you did, eyes opening and feet shifting.
Intel had been wrong about this room, and you wished you'd never seen it. But you had to push through to finish your task.
You swallowed hard and crept around the outside of the room, focusing only on being quiet and avoiding any cameras. You couldn't worry about the animals, not right now.
The office, at least, was exactly where it was supposed to be. It took moments to find and grab the documents you needed, lips curling. Well. At least Horangi would be pleased with you.
Doing one more check of the room to be sure you had everything, you turned to go.
Soft chittering made you stop.
You couldn't understand the animals in the cages, no more than any human versed in body language could. But you could feel more empathy towards them.
They didn't deserve this. But you needed to get out without leaving any sign of your passage.
As much as you wanted to, you couldn't loose the animals in the cages.
Jaw clenching, you forced your feet to move. Maybe you'd see if Horangi would let you come back and take care of the animals later. That was the best you could do, right now.
The trip back through the dark building was silent, and you hoisted yourself up to the window, hanging half-out to hand the documents to Horangi. He looked amused when you slithered the rest of the way out.
“Well done,” he murmured with an approving nod to you. Warmth filled your chest at the simple praise, and you basked in it for a moment.
“Seemed pretty easy,” you murmured cautiously as the two of you snuck away again. “I mean, for us.”
Horangi chuckled, dark eyes glancing at you. “Sometimes things are easy,” he murmured. “We're not paying for it.”
You shrugged. Something still seemed wrong, but if he wasn't concerned, you weren't going to make a fuss about it.
“You could sleep,” Horangi offered, even as he turned on the car to drive the two of you away.
“Nah. I'll wait.” You stretched out a little in the seat, head leaning back against the headrest. The sky was just beginning to lighten with the first hints of sunrise, promising more. “Where are we stopping?”
“Safehouse,” Horangi answered, even though you were pretty sure you were supposed to remember that from the briefing. “In case we need to go back.”
You hummed acknowledgement of that, glancing at him. Time alone with your pack alpha. You weren't entirely sure how to feel about that.
“Promise I won't bite.” He flashed you a grin with teeth.
You laughed, quiet but amused. “Ah yes, very reassuring.”
He smirked, fingers flexing on the wheel. “Nervous?”
“Not particularly.” You grinned. “You had your chance to murder me in the middle of nowhere.”
He chuffed at you, briefly letting go of the wheel to pat your knee. “Won't be my only chance.”
You laughed as his touch retreated again, leaving you warm and more relaxed than you should be. But you were learning to trust him, to give him bits of yourself.
It was a heady feeling.
The safehouse was boring, as most safehouses in your experience were. But it was warmer than outside and had blackout curtains, which would come in handy since the sun was up.
You left Horangi in the main room to scout the rest of the place. Not that there was much to see - a single bedroom, a bathroom that König would have been absolutely squished in, and a hall closet with spare supplies. Nothing glamorous. But it would do.
“Get some rest,” Horangi told you, sprawled along the length of the couch like a, well, cat. “I'll be up for a while.”
You eyed him for a moment, debating how much you could push. “You'll rest soon?”
“Yes.” Far from appearing offended, Horangi smiled, just a little.
You blinked at him, startled, warmth building in your chest at the sight of that smile. And promptly fled back to the bedroom.
You absolutely should not like the sight of his smile that much. It wasn't that big a deal. It really wasn't.
You were still trying to convince yourself of that when you dropped off to sleep.
You woke before Horangi, sneaking past him to get some water. He'd managed to fall asleep on the couch, legs dangling over one arm, head tipped at an angle and torso twisted into some weird position that only a cat could enjoy. Shaking your head, you twisted the top off a water bottle, guzzling half of it in one go.
Hopefully the two of you would get to head back to base today. Not that you minded being in a safehouse with him, but… it felt weird. Just the two of you, and no König.
It was odd to leave a pack member out.
Which was weird for you - it had been a long time since you'd been part of a pack, and longer since leaving someone out was even an option. All these realizations made you antsy, eager to do something, just so you weren't trapped in your own head.
“You think too loudly.”
You absolutely didn't jump at Horangi's voice behind you. You definitely didn't drop your water. “When did you wake up?” You asked him, eyeing him over the back of the couch. He hadn't moved at all.
“I've been awake.”
“Liar.”
His lips twitched into another smile, small but very much there. You had to look away as heat suffused your face.
“Any updates this morning?” You cleared your throat, picking up your water bottle and tossing it from hand to hand.
“Not yet.” Horangi swung his legs around the side, sitting up and cracking his neck. “We'll hang tight a little longer.”
You shrugged, wandering around the room aimlessly, too restless to settle.
“Sit.” Horangi patted the couch next to him. “You can answer a few questions for me.”
Well. That wasn't ominous at all. But you sat anyway.
“What do you need in the pack room?”
You blinked at him, mouth dropping open a little. That… was not what you'd expected. “What?”
“You heard me.” His lips twitched again, eyes warm with amusement.
Surprised, you leaned back against the couch, watching him. But he didn't change the question, didn't restate it. Just waited.
“Not sure,” you settled on, a little cautious. “I don't need much.”
Horangi made a short, dismissive noise at that. “Everyone needs something,” he insisted, head tipping to one side, gaze fixed on you.
You blew out a noisy breath. You'd never given it any thought, if you needed anything in the pack room. “I don't… really know,” you admitted slowly.
Horangi nodded slowly, never looking away from you. “Then we will figure it out.”
You swallowed hard, the implication that he wasn't going anywhere, that he and König would help, bringing both a rush of joy and trepidation. You honestly weren't sure how to feel, now.
Fortunately, you didn't have to figure it out. The phone rang.
You moved away as Horangi made a face, reaching over the couch to grab his pack and the phone. You went back to the window to look outside, only half paying attention to the phone conversation.
You needed to get your head on straight. Or move.
“Time to go.” Horangi stood, shouldering his bag.
You followed him silently back to the car, looking out the window without really seeing anything.

ATWOW extended cut: When one’s heart is opened in the face of death (my thoughts)
.
Ok I held back long enough, I think we have to talk about the Socorro Quaritch moments the extended cut provided us, because I’m obsessed with them. The dynamic that the fandom made up turned out to be true, with Spider being enabled to do as he wants during his time with RDA and Quaritch not once scolding him for his behaviour or "putting him in his place". Captivity was undoubtedly a very stressing time for him, a very emotionally taxing one but it’s interesting to see how the chemistry between these two characters bloomed. The scene where Socorro and the recom squad moved through the forest has shown just how fond Miles is growing of the kid, to the point where he lets go of his toxic behaviours and creates and environment in which the boy feels safe enough to go as far as leading recoms into traps. Also, it’s insanely funny.
The second scene is the extended edition of the Tau’nui village raid, with more violence and more tension. I feel horrible for these poor Na’vi, and for Spider, who got a little more screen time and with that, the movie makes it abundantly clear that Quaritch only makes the decision to burn the village because Spider was begging him not to take a Na’vi life. Not that it wasn’t clear before but I saw some ppl argue that Miles just has a “kind heart” (he does not.)
And then the cherry on top, the stand-off. A scene that should logically have never been cut out because it provides large amounts of character depth to everyone involved, but we’ll finally talk in depth about Quaritch and how he changed Spider’s opinion on him in just one minute of runtime.
Miles lets go of his charade of “I don’t care about this random kid” and frees Kiri, but Neytiri does not let go of Spider, instead pulling a knife to his throat. The Sullies panic, trying to bring Neytiri out of her grief-ridden trance.
And Quaritch tries so too.
His breathing is laboured, his ears pinned back, he was panicking. He asked her, in disbelief, “You really gonna kill the kid Mrs.Sully?”, and then told her, “You’re a warrior. Your fight’s with me, not with the boy.”
And Spider heard all of it loud and clear. He saw that horrible man whom he spent months with let go of his last ticket to victory, and then try and reason with a woman who holds him at knifepoint. I’m gonna quote @/soccorism a little on this, but Miles basically asked Neytiri to re-direct her rage from Spider to him.
Miles asked her to hurt him instead.
And after all that, how could Spider possibly have left him dying?
Every horrific thing he did is not cancelled out by his fatherly behaviour, but Spider had no time to ponder on everything and put his feelings to the side on the bottom of the ocean. The woman he knew all his life almost killed him, and the man whom he spent months travelling Pandora with pleaded with her to let him go. It was a decision made in a fit of emption, in a fit of sentimentality for a monster who got so strongly attached to him, he threw his mission out the window to ensure that he gets to live.
This cut of the movie provides so much more tenderness to the tragic relationship of these two characters, and ties the arc of their growing bond into a nice bow. No longer do we have to rely on glimpses of raw emotion and facial expressions. We have definitive proof that Miles and Spider had a bond, and a very strong one, which made both of the characters go against their respective groups for the sake of each other, and in the end?
It’s just the two of them.

keeho prides himself on the fact that he can make anyone in his vicinity laugh with little to no effort, but with you, he tries just a bit harder than he would with anyone else. his feelings for you develop quite quickly, and he finds himself paying attention to small details about you that many, including yourself, would miss. known for being one of the moodmakers of his squad, everyone notices that he gets abnormally quiet at group hangouts where you are present, something out of character for him. alas, he doesn’t notice his friends’ concerned glances at his unusual demeanor, as he would much rather focus on the way your eyes crinkle when you laugh, the gentle bouncing of your right leg under the diner table, and how you struggle to maintain eye contact with him for more than a few seconds. his attentiveness is what allows him to get closer to you, and his intense observations of every detail about you ends up in him bringing you your favorite snacks without being asked to, or renting an older movie that you mentioned you had been wanting to see, just so the two of you can watch it together. his feelings for you grow tenfold as time passes, but he’s careful not to bombard you with an overwhelming confession of love, so he keeps a good pace and continues to gift you items that remind him of you. once the two of you start hanging out one and one regularly, his flirtatious side is less restrained, and he weasels his way into your heart with the way that he sweetly praises you with that honey voice of his. loves to sneakily touch you and compliment everything about you. his devotion to you, even in the crush stage, is immense and making you feel like the prettiest, most important girl in the world is how he lets that be known to you.
*ੈ✩ theo
is the last one to figure out that he has feelings for you. always would internally pass off his desire to keep you close as just fondness for a friend, but when the boys inquire why he goes through such lengths to make you smile, or basks in your compliments a little more than necessary, he starts to understand that he might not like you as just a “friend”. takes a bit of time to analyze how you two interact the next few times he sees you, and he quickly begins to note that yes, he loves to make you smile more than anyone else and yes, only your compliments, whether towards his hair color or singing voice at a group karaoke session, make him feel fuzzy inside. taeyang is not one to fear rejection, so his way of making you aware of his feelings is cool and collected. simply calls you and gives you instructions to “get dolled up by the evening and wear red.” because he’ll be picking you up and taking you out. when he drives up to your residence, he knocks on your door with flowers in hand, beaming at your beauty. theo is very traditional and a big gentlemen, evident when he opens your passenger door for you, or when he takes your hand to lead you up the flight of a fancy restaurant’s stairs. overall, i believe that he wouldn’t bask in his crush on you for too long. pining is not his ideal method of securing you as his, and he pursues you right when he realizes he sees you in a romantic light. his confidence is a strong quality of his, and that’s no different when it comes to you.
*ੈ✩ jiung
as a perfectionist that values work to a sometimes unhealthy extent, jiung wasn’t fully aware of his blossoming love for you at first. it definitely takes him a little bit of time to accept that his feelings towards you aren’t merely platonic, and as a result of that he might pull away for a bit before ultimately opting to get closer to you. like theo, ji doesn’t really care to pine so when he does make the decision that he wants a chance at a future with you by his side, he makes his feelings very obvious. it starts with physical touch, which you yourself have witnessed jiung gagging at in the past with anyone else, so you already start suspecting that he might view you in a different light than his other friends. starts taking you out on study dates, accompanying you to cat cafes, tying your undone shoelaces for you.. he’s practically your boyfriend before the pair of you even discuss your feelings for each other. isn’t a big gift giver but will pay for your food every time you’re together, not taking “no” from you as an answer. loves when he catches you staring at him from time to time, and blushes at the thought of you liking him back as much as he likes you. i see jiung confessing to you in a pretty nonchalant way, as he’s comfortable enough in his feelings to relay them to you with a certain sweetness that makes your heart warm. in his mind he’s quite nervous, but when you excitedly accept his confession he’s all smiles, grabbing your hand and giving you a quick peck on the cheek. jiung is your prince charming, and the shift between your mutual feelings for each other and officially becoming a couple is a comfortable process, as if it was always meant to be, as if the pair of you were always one, even from the beginning.
*ੈ✩ intak
i see intak as the type of boy to wear his heart on his sleeve, and his security in accepting and understanding his own emotions allows him to be your knight in shining armor whenever you need him to be. he himself knows how comfort can be given in the form of company when life gets difficult, which is precisely the way he shows you his unwavering affection. he doesn’t fully know for sure if he has platonic or romantic feelings for you in the beginning, but he begins to realize that it’s the latter when he finds himself answering a panicked call from you at very late hours of the night, to which he runs to grab his keys and fling on his jacket at he makes his way to your location to comfort you as best as he can. from that night on, he dedicates himself fully to making you feel safe and loved, even if he’s unsure if you reciprocate his feelings. his love language is definitely quality time, and he often ends up inviting you to local concerts, shopping dates, and the movies. wants you to know that he’ll always be there for you, and that he enjoys spending his free time in your presence more than anyone else’s. inflicts corny cliches onto you, like fake yawning and stretching his arm to wrap around your frame, (and his sneaky glance in your direction to make sure he hasn’t made you uncomfortable is not a gesture that goes unnoticed). is your number one hype man, shoulder to cry on, and pillow for when you accidentally fall asleep leaning against his warmth. when he finally knows that you do reciprocate, his confidence shoots up to the roof. one night when you two are watching a movie together at your house, intak turns to face you, tucks a stray hair behind your ear and asks, “can i kiss you?”, waiting for your approval before locking his chapped lips with yours. when you both part from the kiss he can’t stop smiling and going in for more kisses, and eventually you both fall asleep cuddling on the couch. when you wake up he sits you down to make sure he interpreted your eagerness correctly, that you really do want to be his. is all giggles when you call yourself his “girlfriend” for the first time. he is soooo puppy coded ^_^
*ੈ✩ soul
not being the most confident in the group, he’s quite hesitant to express his feelings for you. hides his crush on you from everyone, because he fears it could come between your close friendship. i think shota is the type to know right away if he has romantic feelings for someone, as he’s a great judge of character and knows who he can be comfortable around with a singular interaction. even though he may not want to verbalize his feelings to anyone, especially you, that doesn’t mean that soul doesn’t treat you different. on the contrary, he prioritizes your happiness more than his own, like when he brought you dozens of his favorite snacks from his latest trip to japan, or when he demotes jongseob as his gaming buddy so that he can teach you one on one how to play his usual games. although he might believe he’s not very obvious, all of his friends know that he loves you. after a long time of crushing on you, he starts to open up to you more, which surprises him, especially knowing that he likes to keep his emotions to himself. realizes at a certain point that he can’t continue on like this, that he can’t bare to keep you as just a companion, that he craves more. seeks out his friends’ advice on the matter for the first time, and they all reassure him that there is no way that you don’t feel the same, which is unconvincing to him. despite his doubts, he does eventually muster up enough courage to tell you how he feels, expecting you to kindly reject him and distance yourself afterwards, but to his surprise, you just reply with a kiss on his cheek, and the words, “i like you too”. from that point on, he becomes a more confident version of himself around you, constantly cracking jokes and keeping you attached to him at all times. every part of him that wanted to hide from you disappears once you put a label on your relationship, and he’s grateful that he didn’t let his insecurities get in the way of your shared love for each other.
*ੈ✩ jongseob
i’m a firm believer that seob would fall in love at first sight. his mind is older than his body, and he’s regarded as one of, if not the most mature of his group, despite being the youngest. jongseob knows what he likes, is in touch with his emotions, and most importantly, knows that he loves you more than life itself. doesn’t shy away from pursuing you, makes it his goal in life to receive your unwavering affection!! definitely makes use of his photography hobby by using you as the subject in majority of his photos, always sends you printed copies with little notes written on the back of them, like the date they were taken on, what he was thinking when he photographed them, etc..! asks his older members for advice, and constantly tries to meddle information out of them that could be useful to his mission of asking you out.. he’s attentive just like keeho, and gives you little gifts that incorporate things like your favorite characters, perfume scents, colors, and songs. 100% writes lyrics about you, and shyly shows them to you when you come over one day, passing them off as “general” feelings but when he sees how excited you get to be reading something he wrote himself, your reaction is enough for him to finally ask you out on a proper date. when you leave in the evening, he’s giddy for the rest of the night, and writes down different date ideas just so that he can plan everything perfectly to fit your tastes. he also is on his phone all the time, always preoccupied with texting you, whether it be a simple “good morning :]” or a cute video he saw on instagram. jongseob’s crush on you is deeper than he may let off at first, but he knows that it’s something that consumes his every thought and motivates him in every aspect of his life. once you two actually start dating, he continues to take pictures of you, and makes a scrapbook journal for the pair of you to look at in the future!! just the sweetest boy who values your interests and happiness over everything else!!!

part 2 is here
Up until you met a certain someone, your soulmate, your world was always destined to forever be in shades of grey, and black and white. It was a relatively uncommon experience for anyone to meet their soulmate on the Luofu. With most people choosing to stay on the ship for their entire lives, there was no way to get out into the galaxy and meet your other half. You had met a very small number of people who had met their soulmate on the ship. They were very fond of talking about how beautiful the world was, now that it was bathed in color. Everything was so exciting and new, they always had this sort of sparkle around them as they spoke. You tried to be happy for them, you really did, but the things they spoke about always went over your head. You were a simple mechanic, you were sure you’d never experience the joys they spoke of. Nobody paid attention to the likes of you.
A power line being down on a civilian street was practically unheard of on the Luofu. If there were issues with the power supply, it was always within the depths of the ship that you and your team of mechanics, along with countless others were intimately familiar with.
It was easy to hide away from the prying eyes of the people, being heralded as silent heroes who saved the ship from little disasters while remaining unseen. That’s how a portion of the Luofu civilians saw people who worked in your position. A larger number of them regarded lowly mechanics as untouchables, and not in a good way. It made you scoff, you were the ones responsible for keeping the ship they lived on intact, and that was the thanks they gave you? It wasn’t fair for them to look down on you, but they’d never understand the hardships you had to go through to live this life. They could shove their opinions elsewhere, you thought, and left it at that. They should really be grateful now, here you were, in plain sight. Aurum Alley’s power supply had been cut off when a group of young adults were inappropriately, and dangerously, playing with a firearm one of their comrades had bought and was showing off, in the street and it misfired. The situation was quickly brought to the attention of the Cloud Knights and they took control of the area, calling for a mechanic squad to quickly resolve the power issue right away.
You were grateful nobody had been hurt, but were angry at the carelessness of the young people who had caused this disruption. Thankfully it would be an easy fix, this was a very short section of wire and tubing that needed to be replaced, but it was in a high place. The hole in the side, and the burnt smell of plastoid wafted down the street as you and the team made your way to the job. You guys hadn’t been on a job when the call had been made, so it was yours. Your team began to gear up to fix the issue, but you were given the most attention. You were the best at handling jobs that required you to go up on the crane arms, you were the steadiest of them all. You clipped on your harness and motioned for the crane to raise you up. Soon you were standing on top of the arm. You frowned. This was one of the older models of arms, and it didn’t have a railing. You looked down at your comrades, who were setting up their equipment to shut this section of the line down for sure, so you wouldn’t potentially get electrocuted removing the line. You made eye contact with Jinshui, one of your close friends on the team. He gave you a thumbs up and smiled. You nodded and gave him a thumbs up in return, tugging on your harness to ensure it was secure and got to work.
Could you have gotten a more awful crane to stand on? This one was terrifying, it creaked when you moved and at one point you could have sworn it shifted under your weight. You were sweating in your uniform, less from the heat of the shining artificial sun, but from the stress of being up so high on a shitty machine. Your palms were sweaty inside your gloves and you took them off to wipe them on your pants.
“Is everything ok?” Jinshui called up to you. You turned your head to look down at him, afraid to turn your entire body.
“This stupid crane moves whenever I do. I’ll finish the job the best I can, but it’s making me nervous.” You replied and bent down to pick up your tools. The weight change on top of the crane made it shift and the head toppled off. You were falling towards the ground with it, facing up towards the sun. Air rushed past you as you fell, helpless. The line your harness was attached to was slack, until it tightened as it ran out of line, yanking you back violently. It gave you whiplash, but ultimately stopped your fall. You were suspended in the air, only hanging on by your harness. You gripped the safety line and looked down in horror, nausea causing your stomach to turn. You heard shouts below you but what they were saying didn’t register. You looked into the crowd gathered below, to the side of where the site had been blocked off. Lots of horrified eyes stared up at you dangling helplessly. You scanned the crowd, and something strange began to happen when you met a particular pair of eyes.
Slowly, as if a piece of film was being pulled away from your eyes, what you could only guess was color, began to fill your vision. The bright colors on the street, and the sun reflecting off of the shiny metal made your eyes water, but you didn’t look away from the stranger. They had light colored eyes, you didn’t know what to call it, and very light hair in a long flowing ponytail. They were tall, towering over most of the crowd and were wearing armor that shone in the sun. You closed your eyes as you recognized the General of the Luofu, staring up at you. His expression became grim, and he finally broke eye contact, turning away and heading down the street away from the commotion. You barely registered that your team had started to bring you down safely from your perch with a winch, you helplessly watched the general go until he disappeared into the crowd.
Jingshui immediately approached you, his hands extended and tone gentle, as if you were a wounded animal that needed soothing.
“A doctor is here to see you. It looked like you got jerked pretty badly by the line, so I figured it would be good if someone took a look at you…”
You just nodded and sat down where he gently guided you and someone began to examine you. You heard her speaking, but your mind was too in shock to hear what she was saying. You were overstimulated by the sights in front of you. Your brain was unsure how to process so much visual information and it hurt. You closed your eyes and rested your head against the wall, its cool stone soothing your skin. General Jing Yuan was your soulmate and you couldn’t tell anyone about it. You sighed and shifted your position. The stone brick dug into your skin. It would definitely leave a mark.
“I’m just tired.” You said out loud, to anyone who may be listening. You weren’t sure if anyone had been speaking to you at this point, but the ringing in your ears seemed to have calmed for now. The doctor looked startled at your sudden exclamation, her tail bristling slightly, but nodded in response.
“According to your friend, your supervisor has given you some time off. He sent the details to your phone. Please use the time you have to get some well deserved rest.” She shot you a serious look as she packed up her bag and began to leave the site. You sighed again and pulled out your phone, checking your messages. You squinted at the screen, it was far too bright and colorful for you at the moment. There were several messages from Jingshui, and one from your boss. He did, in fact, give you time off. A generous 3 days. You imagined you would spend that time brooding over the fact that you would most likely never have a relationship of any kind with your soulmate. And that thought hurt more than the occasional twinge in your neck.
Your minor injury recovered within the three days you had off, and you were cleared by a doctor, deemed healthy enough to begin work again. Your teammates were happy to see you, welcoming you back with open arms. Luckily your first day back was only filled with light repairs. It didn’t strain your body at all, and you were grateful. Those three days had been boring, full of nothing but endless thinking. You had wondered countless times what would happen if you reached out to the general. Would he respond favorably, or would he push you away? You didn’t know, and had no way of knowing. This ate you up inside as you curled up in bed, Jingshui’s contact open. The cursor in the textbox blinked slowly at you. You hesitated, and decided it would be best to tell him in person.
You didn’t need to set up a time to tell him, however, he asked if you wanted to get dinner as you left the last worksite of the day.
“I just want to make sure you're doing ok.” He said with a smile. You returned his smile and made your way to Aurum Alley, chatting about the events of the day, and what you did during your time off. You sat down at the Delicacy Pavilion and ordered Signature Chili Oil Beef Offal Stew. There was a pleasant silence between the two of you as you waited for your food, Jingshui was people watching and you were racking your brain, trying to think of a way to break the news. You decided to just be upfront.
“I um. I have something to tell you. But you can’t tell anyone else about it.” You swallowed thickly and clasped your sweaty palms together, your arms resting on the cool surface of the table. Jingshui turned to you, his expression serious.
“I promise I won’t tell anyone. Your secret is safe with me.”
You sighed and gripped your hands tighter, staring off into the distance. You were so unsure of how to begin. You closed your eyes and looked your friend in the face. Your food had arrived and he had begun to dig in. You felt the heat radiating from the bowl onto your chilled arms. He looked up at you, mouth full of beef. He gestured for you to speak. And so you did.
“Right… This has been eating me up for the past couple of days. Um. I’ve met my soulmate. Well, that’s not true. I’ve only seen them… made eye contact with them.” You wrung your hands as you began to explain your plight to Jingshui unsuccessfully. He raised an eyebrow curiously. You rambled on.
Do you remember how General Jing Yuan was taking a stroll while we were fixing that powerline? There were tons of people looking up at me while I was dangling up in the air, but when I made eye contact with him specifically… my world exploded into color.”
That was an exaggeration, the change was slow. But it felt instantaneous from the shock of being so high up in the air, with no way to help yourself escape.. Jingshui dropped a piece of beef back into his bowl as he looked up at you in shock.
“And you’re certain it was him?!”
“I know it was him. I couldn’t focus on anyone in the crowd other than him. He stood out for some strange reason... And then he left. I don’t know what to do. He’s practically unreachable.” You sighed and began to eat your food. You didn’t feel particularly hungry, your stomach was in knots, but you knew Jingshui would lecture you if you didn’t eat, so you tried anyway. He pinched the bridge of his nose with his free hand and he lowered his chopsticks.
“That's… wow. Do you have a plan to get in contact with him somehow?”
“The only way I could do that is if I get assigned to fix something at the Seat of Divine Foresight… where there’s a slim chance he’ll be there and not out taking a walk. I just… Why did it have to be him?” You rested your head in your hands, sighing heavily. “This has to be a joke from the universe.”
Jingshui shook his head. “Things happen for a reason. Next time there’s a job for someone at the Seat of Divine Foresight, I’ll make sure you get it. You have to try. It’s the least you can do.” His voice was full of determination as he finished off his stew. He swallowed and pointed at you, furrowing his eyebrows. “Don’t give up!”
You nodded and finished your food as well.
“I’ll try.” You promised, feeling uneasy. It was such a long shot that the Seat would need something to be fixed. Hardly anything there broke. But you held onto a small glimmer of hope that something would come up.
It took weeks, but something eventually popped up. The general’s hologram projector was fried and needed to be fixed immediately. True to his word, Jingsui advocated for you to go, but you were sure you wouldn’t be picked. Fixing holograms was not your strong suit, but your dear friend pushed for you to go anyway. You didn’t try to refute his claims of you being the best choice. This was your only chance of making contact with the general, and you both knew it. You could do it. Your team leader sighed and flipped a coin, it was between you and a woman named Zhu Li. You held your breath as the coin flew up into the air and landed in your supervisor's palm. He slapped it onto the top of his other hand and briefly examined it. He looked up and called out your name.
“They will be going to the Seat of Divine Foresight.” He held out a bag of special tools for you to take, while Zhu Li groaned and glared at you from the side. You shrugged and took the tools, your heart pounding in your chest. Your stomach turned with excitement and dread as you began to leave your team’s space. Jingshui smiled and gave you a thumbs up as you passed by him. You smiled weakly and returned the gesture, exiting the room. You got onto the star skiff that would take you to your destination and you patiently waited to arrive there, your mind swirling with possibilities of what could happen. You tried not to dwell on any negative scenarios, it was best not to give up hope before you’d even tried. Just like Jingshui had said all those weeks ago.
You arrived and made your way inside after being cleared by the guards at the front door. Your bag of tools had been pretty self explanatory to them. Your heart caught in your throat as you made your way up the steps inside. The inside of the building was fairly empty, save for the standard array of Cloud Knights and other employees that worked here. You were shown the device that needed fixing by Qingzu, who thanked you for coming on such short notice. You smiled at her, placing your tool bag on the ground, and told her it was no trouble at all. It was your job after all. Before you began to work, you looked through the railing up at the general’s desk. He was not there. Your heart sank in your chest and you bit the inside of your cheek, returning your gaze to the broken projector. You tried to ignore the immense disappointment that settled in your chest like a weight as you opened the machine to see what was wrong. Of course he wasn’t here. You were foolish to think he would be, he spent lots of time outside of his office discussing matters with other Luofu officials.
Some wires had fried inside of the machine. You frowned as you tried to pull them out, marveling at how frayed they had become. Had the protective layer just melted off? You couldn’t tell. The wires were stubborn and refused to come out of their plugs. You got on the ground, shimmying up to the projector on your stomach and reached in to grab the wires from this angle. Your fingers were very close to the power supply. As you yanked on the wires, finally freeing them, a shock jolted your arm, numbing your nerves. You swore and sat up instantly, ignoring the looks that were thrown your way. You hissed and rubbed your hand, exhaling deeply. Your muscles still worked thankfully, although you had no idea when the feeling would return to your arm. You felt someone was standing behind you, causing you to sit up straighter. The hairs on the back of your neck prickled as you felt their eyes on you.
“Sorry about the noise. It was just from a mistake I made. I’ll be out of here soon.” You explained, tone apologetic. If this person were a disgruntled employee, hopefully they would leave you alone for the duration of your project. The person chuckled and walked towards the steps on the right side of the room, allowing you to get a look at them. You froze in place as General Jing Yuan came into view.
“Take all the time you need. I’m in no hurry to play starches any time soon.” His voice was deep, just how you remembered it from all of the addresses he’d made in the past, but his tone was kind. His usual relaxed expression was on his face as he looked at you with slight interest. You cleared your throat and sat up straighter.
“Thank you sir.” Now that he was right in front of you, you had no idea what to say. You gripped the wires in your hand tightly as your mind raced. You never actually thought about a plan of what to say if you actually met him. You cleared your throat again.
“If there are no more issues, it should be fixed in no time.” You turned away, unable to handle the weight of his gaze any longer. He radiated power, and it was intimidating. You scanned your tools and picked up the one you needed next, to open a different hatch inside of the projector. You breathed a sigh of relief when you heard him go up the steps to his desk, shortly followed by the rustling of papers. That went horribly, you thought as you began to repair the projector. There’s no way you could talk to him here. He had work to finish, it was foolish to even entertain the thought of having a meaningful conversation here. Disappointment took root in your heart once more as you swiftly finished repairing the projector. Your time at the Seat of Divine Foresight was finished, and you were still as far away from the general as you had been when you walked in.
You picked up your bag of tools and stood up silently stretching before you left. What a wasted trip this was, your thoughts turned gloomy. Qingzu ordered a star skiff to come get you, she had you come up on the dais and manually type in your destination. Your heart pounded in such close proximity to the general. He was reading a report, completely engrossed in its contents. You finished typing and stepped back from Qingzu’s screen. The general looked up from his report at the movement. Your heart leapt in your chest as he made eye contact with you.
“Leaving so soon?”
You nodded, adjusting your grip on your tools.
“Yes sir, I’ve finished fixing the projector. Hopefully it won’t have any more problems in the future.” Did he want something? It was impossible to tell, he was unreadable.
“Hmm. I have something for you.” Even Qingzu next to you looked shocked as he said this. He took a small piece of paper and wrote something on it, holding it out to you once he finished. His slight smile was present as always. You stepped forward and took the paper, ignoring how your face grew hot as you accidentally brushed your fingers against his. You folded up the paper and stuck it in your pocket.
“Thank you…” You were unsure how to respond, and didn’t have time to. Qingzu informed you that your star skiff had arrived to take you back to work. You turned away from the general’s desk, trying to ignore your flaming cheeks as you walked down the steps and to the front door.
A/N: Hii this is only part one to a longer fic! Please let me know what you think and as always, requests are open! :)

Paperwork (Part III) - Levi Ackerman x Female Reader
Tumblr media
Word Count: 5.3k
Warning: Gory/violent imagery ahead.
Read Part I
Read Part II
* * *
The ride to the old Scout Regiment headquarters is quiet except for Oruo, who gives a briefing to the entire squad about the headquarters’ history. He also gives Eren some shit for being a “greenhorn,” which he probably needs. You don’t intervene. You remember those days and look back on them with fondness.
You make an active effort to avoid Levi’s gaze like the plague, although you can’t help but notice that his scowl is a little more pronounced than usual today. You aren’t sure if it’s from a lack of sleep or your presence. Perhaps a little bit of both.
You spend the entire day cleaning the headquarters with the squad. You hardly exchange any words with anybody, considering you’ve never met any of them, except for Eren. You both exchanged formalities after he introduced himself to you. Although he fit the stereotypical awkward teenager archetype, he was polite and formal.
In the evening, you continue work by yourself to clean the room that Levi had assigned to you. Meanwhile, Eren and Petra hold a conversation as to how Levi got into the Scouts. You always wondered that yourself but knew it was none of your business. You try not to eavesdrop and you only catch an occasional word here and there: rogue, commander, black market. Then it goes quiet.
Suddenly, the Captain’s words to Eren boom throughout the corridors and hallways, making you jump.
“Your cleaning is lamentable. Back upstairs, now.”
You wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of Levi’s wrath like that. So just when you think the room is clean, you clean it again just to be sure. Your fingers are sore and red, even some of your skin peels off as a result of your labor. Sweat gathers at your hairline and at the small of your back.
As you are scrubbing the underside of a table, you see darkness creeping into the corners of your vision. You take a few deep breaths and close your eyes for a moment, swallowing a thick wad of saliva.
Everything is fine. I’m fine.
Those are your famous last words for when you shakily stand up, everything goes black.
* * *
You stir awake and are immediately greeted with a sharp pain behind your eyelids. The room is lit with a dim flickering of a candle on the side of the uncomfortable bed you are currently laying on.
Wh… I don’t remember going to bed… How long have I been sleeping? Shit.
You look out the open window across the room and the sky is dark, the paleness of the moon illuminating the chipped window pane. After rubbing your eyes tiredly, a familiar dark figure leaning up against the wall with his arms crossed catches your attention.
It’s gotta be…
“Levi?” you question groggily, squinting at him. “What happened?”
“Well, would you look at that? Sleeping Beauty’s finally woke up.”
He takes a few steps towards you, pulling a stool out from beside the nightstand and sitting at your bedside. You lean up in bed despite the raging headache that’s making your head throb. You hold your head in your hands, but still make an effort to carry a conversation with him.
“Agh. You didn’t kiss me or anything, did you?”
Levi’s expression remains stoic at your attempt at a joke. He almost seems like a different person compared to last night. Still, your lips curl upward slightly at him.
“Not even sleep deprivation has an effect on your humor, or lack thereof,” he pauses and you laugh weakly. “I called everybody down to have a meeting to find you passed out. You’ve only been resting for about an hour or two. When’s the last time you slept?”
You genuinely try to answer Levi’s question, scouring one side of your mind to the other, and you come up with nothing. A few days ago, at the very least. You hang your head low and a deep pain shoots throughout your skull and you wince. You curse under your breath.
You squeak, “A while.”
Levi sighs loudly.
“Your lack of commitment to humanity is deplorable. It’s almost like you want to be kicked out of the Scouts.”
Your mouth drops open in shock. The tension in the air between you two instantly becomes almost suffocating. And not the good kind.
“Excuse me?”
“You could’ve busted your head open today, consider yourself lucky. But if you had even the slightest damn bit of sense, you’d make a better effort to take care of yourself.”
“Oh yeah? Riddle me this, Levi, when’s the last time you slept? Or ate anything for that matter? Nothing like the pot calling the kettle black.”
“I don’t have to explain myself to you,” his voice begins to rise. “You are under my authority now, whether we both like it or not. And this is about you and your carelessness. First it was the paperwork and now you’re missing squad meetings. What’s going to happen next? Getting eaten by a titan?”
Both of you go quiet, so quiet that you could hear a pin drop. You stare at him in shock, not believing the words he just said to you. Tears begin to well up in your eyes and you look away from him, closing them as you speak. You take a steady breath in.
“Captain Levi,” you say, very lowly and as stable as you can. “I think it’s best if you leave.”
He gets up without another word, his footsteps echoing across the walls until the sounds disappear into the distance.
If there was ever a moment where you wanted to hide away from humanity forever, this would be it. You clench your hands together harshly below the blanket as they sit on your thighs, your nails biting into the flesh of your palms and manifesting as crescent-shaped indentations. Tears silently fall.
Fuck you, Levi.
* * *
Time goes by and contact between you and the Captain is very limited. You only speak to one another when necessary. Many things have happened: the captured titans, Sawney and Beane, are killed by a soldier, the 104th Cadets had their decision ceremony, and Hange has conducted experiments with Eren.
Today is the 57th Exterior Scouting Mission, which aims to plot a course from Calaneth District to Shiganshina District. There, in the basement, Eren’s home holds some sort of secret about the titans. That’s all the commander disclosed.
A certain nervousness always comes over you during excursions outside the walls, accompanied with shaky hands and a fast heart rate, but you have still somehow made it out alive. What would make today any different?
You are up earlier than the other members of Levi Squad. You feel fully rested today and better than ever. You tiptoe through the quiet halls and open the back door. You step outside and wiggle your toes in the grass while deeply breathing in the fresh air, enjoying this moment of peace in the preface of the havoc that is to come. The stars are still out but you can see the dark blue sky beginning to lighten. The rest of the squad should be up anytime now. Levi is probably boarded up in his room thinking about the expedition with very minimal sleep to go on for the day.
“You’re up early.”
Speak of the devil. You still stand with your back facing Captain Levi.
“As are you, per usual.”
“Listen, I want to apologize for what I said,” his voice is right next to you now, standing beside you and looking up at the sky. “It was out of line. And I’m sorry.”
“Thank you for your apology, Captain Levi, but what’s done is done. Now, will you please leave me be so I can just have a moment’s peace?”
He doesn’t respond for a moment, but when he does, it’s quiet.
“Don’t be long.”
* * *
Later, you’re riding with the troop of horses as they charge through Calaneth District, which is in ruins. Buildings have collapsed. You even notice a few skeletons here and there lining the dilapidated streets. You don’t dwell on the thought of what kind of life used to live here. Some 100 soldiers are joining forces today. You note that most of them will not make it out alive and take in their determined, hopeful faces.
If only they knew what they are about to see.
“We’ve got a ten-meter closing in from the left!” Hange shouts to the others and proceeds to gush about her curiosity of the titans.
The support squad takes care of it and continues to engage in combat with approaching titans as the Scout Regiment continues its advance. You ride alongside Levi Squad and your attention remains unhinged, unlike Sasha’s, who is reprimanded for straying away from the troop’s focus of moving forward.
The loud clattering of hooves on the rough ground makes it hard for anybody to hear anything. But once the scouts reach titan territory, you see Commander Erwin whip his left arm out as a signal.
“Long-range formation, let’s go!”
Commander Erwin’s formation method has been proven to lessen soldier casualties during scouting missions like this. The signal flares were shown to be useful so he could adjust the formation accordingly. And so far, it’s working. Green smoke signals pierce the partly cloudy sky in the distance to the right as Levi Squad continues on horseback. “Uruo, pass it on,” Captain Levi commands.
“With pleasure, sir!”
After Uruo follows the order and fires a green flare, it’s quiet for a few moments. Eren looks deep in thought. All the others do, too. And you were sure that you all are thinking the same thing: how is the situation, really?
“Reporting, sir!”
Everyone’s attention turns to the voice, a lone male soldier riding alongside your squad.
“An oral message: it appears the right-wing spotters have been wiped out! The early warning network is compromised! One of you will need to relay the message down the line!”
“You heard the man, Petra. Go on.”
You attempt to recall who was in the right wing. You only remember one soldier in particular: Armin, Eren’s best friend. You turn your head towards Eren and he looks horrified, sweat running down his face but his countenance is still decisive and purposeful.
You are ripped out of your thoughts when you see streams of black in the sky, much closer than the green smoke signals you saw just a few moments ago. Too close.
This mission is going to hell...
Eren gasps in horror, “An abnormal!”
“Eren, fire the signal.”
“Y-yes, sir!”
It’s only an hour into the scouting mission before the formation completely breaks up. Commander Erwin gives the order that only the center rank is to enter the Forest of Giant Trees while the others go around and guard for other titans. You have so many questions running through your head and no answers. You stare a hole into the back of Captain Levi’s head, as if to try to get into his brain for answers.
What in the hell is actually happening? How many soldiers have we lost already? What are we doing? What kind of abnormal is the Survey Corps dealing with to cause this much disorder? What’s the plan? Does Captain Levi even know what’s going on?
Still, Levi Squad remains rigid, despite the formation being destroyed. The horses run together through the forest on a trail, your surroundings darkened by the trees that surround you.
“Captain! Captain Levi!” Eren calls out. “C’mon, sir, we’re in a forest! We won’t see a titan ‘til it’s right on top of us! The center rank’s totally cut off! Something’s coming up on the right, isn’t it? So what’re we supposed to do, avoid titans or defend the wagons?”
“Quit whining and move on from the obvious already,” Captain Levi spits. “Neither of those is an option anymore.”
“Wha—? What are you talking about?”
“Haven’t you noticed what’s around you? Take a look at these big ass trees.”
All of you avert your gaze upward, looking at the dark, humongous trees surrounding you. Silver sunlight leaks in from the branches and leaves. It’s a—
“Perfect environment for ODM gear, wouldn’t you say? Take my advice, Eren. Calm down and use your head. The best survival tool is your brain.”
“Yes, sir!”
You look around the squad and see everyone’s faces scrawled with fear. Your stomach feels like it has a rock in it and your palms are clammy. Although nobody has any idea of what’s going on, you trusted Captain Levi and his leadership, even if you don’t understand it.
A black plume of smoke reaches over the trees. Eren and Uruo comment on it before Captain Levi gives the squad an order between gritted teeth.
“Blades drawn, now!” Captain Levi looks behind you as he draws his weapon in a strange way. “It’ll happen in the blink of an eye, be ready.”
The tension in the air is thick, but everyone still presses forward. A soldier appears from the trees with his blades ready, but is smashed to the ground from a quick swat of the titan’s hand, which is sprinting at full speed towards you and the others. It was a female titan with blonde hair and no skin. The ground shakes as it continues to run.
As the squad progresses further, the Female Titan brushes over you and your comrades, almost grabbing Eren. It’s clear now he is the target and she’s intelligent.
You swear you feel your heart stop. And your last thought is the ravenhead with the undercut you spent last night with.
Levi.
You feel everything tumble around you. It happens so fast, you can’t even register it until you’re on the forest floor, on your stomach, looking up at the Female Titan, who is still chasing Levi Squad. It disappears into the distance. It had knocked you off your horse since you were towards the back of the group. Thankfully you landed in an overgrowth of ferns, so it couldn’t spot you to squash you. Besides, it is clearly too focused on capturing Eren to bother.
You are nothing but lucky. From what you can tell, all you sustained from the assault was a cut, spanning from your upper lip down your chin. It’s going to undoubtedly leave a scar. The taste of blood assaults your mouth and you try to wipe off what you can with the back of your sleeve. You hear a faint whinny nearby and shakily stand up. You do a once-over on yourself and notice that none of your bones are broken. But you are beyond sore and a sharp pain spreads across the side of your ribs. Maybe a fracture.
You find your horse nearby in a pool of blood against a tree, somehow still alive. Parts of her ribs had pierced out from her skin. She draws labored, agonizing breaths. With tears in your eyes, you approach it slowly so you don’t further startle her. You run your hand across her warm muzzle and forehead with affection.
You had the same horse since joining the Scouts, she had been with you through it all. She has been the only stable thing in your life. You recall the nights when you would sometimes sneak out with some oats and feed her as a treat. And this is how she is going to die.
Your voice cracks as hot tears run down your cheeks, “I’m sorry.”
You stand back up, pull out your pistol from your hip, and look away before shooting her in the head. She goes quiet and limp. The rustling of the greenery cushioning her stops. You don’t bother looking at the corpse. Instead, you close your eyes and unhook your cloak from your uniform. You drape the material over the body. You pay your respects for just a moment and press forward.
Your head turns from one direction to the other, trying to search for any sort of indication of the squad returning. Or anyone, for that matter. You lie there for a moment and it becomes clear to you that nobody is coming to save you or check for survivors. At least right now.
You stay within the confines of the dense forest floor in order to keep a cover from any potential titans that might show up. Following the trail to the right, you begin to run. Your legs propel you forward and your heart begins to speed up with the increased physical demand. Your ribs hurt like hell, causing you to wheeze and cry out in pain. Your lungs burn with exhaustion.
You can practically hear a few of Captain Levi’s snide remarks echo in your mind during the last few weeks of training. You use them to keep fighting. “That all you got, brat? I’ve seen turtles travel faster than you … You’ll never be able to outrun anything at this pace … Twenty more laps around the yard for your insolence … First it was the paperwork and now you’re missing squad meetings. What’s going to happen next? Getting eaten by a titan?”
You say, aloud this time, “Fuck you, Levi.”
A dark flame of anger sparks in your chest and spreads throughout your entire system. Your legs make longer strides, your breathing reaches a measurable and steady pace, and your speed picks up. Even though it might not seem the healthiest, this is what is keeping you alive.
A few moments later, you hear someone fire what seems to be an acoustic shell. You are familiar with the high-pitched ringing noise and when you look up, you don’t see any smoke at all. An acoustic shell is rarely ever shot off, so you don’t know what situation would have prompted it.
The sound sure as hell isn’t close but you are capable of running that far if you absolutely have to. After all, you have no other choice.
Another ten minutes goes by and you still can’t see any sign of any soldiers. What’s more odd is that you haven’t seen any titans, either. Not a single one. There’s something strange about this mission in particular… the silence surrounding it is louder than usual. You try to contemplate what kind of cargo was in the wagons that the center rank was hauling and if it was going to be used for the mission.
It’s no use trying to guess or conspire. Right now, I just need to get out of here alive. That’s what I need to focus on.
You press on.
You stop in your tracks shortly after when you come across a bloody corpse on the path in the middle of the road, which looks contorted, unnatural. Bending all the ways it shouldn’t be. The Female Titan is not taking any prisoners today. You slowly approach it. The person’s eyes are popped out of their head and strings of bloody, busted bowels are partially forced out of the mouth. Flies are already laying waste to it.
You nearly gag at the sight, but their ODM gear, somehow, looks seemingly intact.
That’s your ticket out of here.
You hesitantly reach down and pry the gear off the body, trying your best to brush off the blood and flesh off it. It appears fully functional, with the exception of a few dents and scratches. After, you gauge the gas. Almost completely full. Before you take off into the trees above, you give a heartfelt salute to your fellow comrade, even though you cannot physically engage who it is. You are sure that once this escapade is over, the Scouts will come back and try to find all the bodies they can. Hopefully someone can identify them.
A series of loud booms shake the trees and reverberate through your feet. You nearly fall back down to the ground with the sound. It’s not as far away as the acoustic shell was earlier. You are making leeway. Slow progress? Sure. But progress is progress.
The wind flies through your hair as you use the gear, which is infinitely much faster than on foot. Trees whoosh past you in a blur. You keep an eye out for any other bodies as you progress in case your gas becomes depleted. You continue forward until there’s a loud voice that comes from below you. It echoes in your eyes. Dropping your altitude, you land swiftly on the ground and look around.
“Hello?” You call out.
“Please…”
The weak, hoarse voice comes from behind you. You backtrack, looking for anyone in the bushes and the ferns. You push past foliage. Nothing.
You shout again, “Where are you?”
“Here…”
It sounds further back into the trees. You run as fast as you can, charging full speed towards the sound. Finally, you manage to find a woman hunched against a rock. Blood has dripped all down onto her face and continues into her neck. A large branch is thrust into her abdomen. You run over and perform an exam on her to get an idea of her condition. Both her legs are broken. This is confirmed when you ask her to wiggle her toes and her muscles are unresponsive. Her ODM gear is inoperable, also.
The situation isn’t good. But you’re going to make the most of it. The only silver lining of this situation is that her tanks are also pretty full. You swap them out for your old ones, which are about 50% capacity.
You look at her, “What’s your name?”
“Gemma.”
“Alright, Gemma, I’m gonna get us out of here,” you vow. “Here, wrap your arms around my neck.”
The soldier does what she’s told and despite her injuries, she holds on without an issue. Eventually, you can see the figure of the Female Titan in the distance. But it isn’t running. She’s staying completely still. And its arms are raised… to protect its nape?
Another round of extremely loud explosions happens and this time, you can hear Commander Erwin’s voice directing the Scouts. Despite the shakiness it causes as you fly through the air, you remain steady. Even with a wounded soldier on your back.
While you are conscious of your gas usage, you feel the need to get there faster. Gemma’s blood soaks in through your clothes. You can feel the warm stickiness on your lower back. And her grip is lessening on your neck.
“Hey, how you doing back there?”
“How... much... further...?”
“Not far. C’mon, stick with me.”
Some of the Scout Regiment scattered in the trees and look down on the Female Titan with anger and resentment, who is paralyzed with some sort of trap system. It is stabbed from head to toe with restraints. As you get closer and closer to the area, your heart speeds up in your chest. Some soldiers can hear you coming, thanks to the whizzing of the wire and the expulsion of gas, and turn around to spot you.
“Two soldiers incoming!”
You breathe a huge sigh of relief. If it wasn’t for your fallen comrades, you never would’ve made it back alive. You look towards the blue sky above and give a silent thank you to them. You hook onto the tree where some are standing and your body collapses on the giant branch. Gemma lays beside you, on the verge of passing out. A small pool of blood lurks from her belly and absorbs into the tree.
You muster up the strength to prop yourself up on your elbows to survey the situation. Almost immediately, you spot Captain Levi. He is a few trees away and his attention turns to yours. When he does, his mouth drops slightly and his eyes widen. His shoulders relax a little, but there is still clear concern written all over his face. Your body gives out again, causing you to slam your face against the harsh, unforgiving bark.
“Holy shit,” you hear someone swear. “What happened?”
You look up and place a hand on the wounded woman’s back.
“This is Gemma, she needs medical attention.”
“We’ll get her to a wagon and see what we can do,” a man approaches you as a few others take her away. “Do you need medical attention as well?”
“No, I’m fine,” you shakily stand up, ignoring his extended hand, and draw your blades.
“The cut on your face looks pretty nasty, you really should—”
“I said I’m fine. Mission status?”
“The Female Titan has been restrained. I believe Captain Levi is about to cut it open and find out who’s inside.”
You look down on the Female Titan, whose face has fear written all over it. Its eyes are bulging and its body is stiff. It all clicks together.
This was a setup. Commander Erwin must’ve suspected there was a spy. That’s the only logical explanation. He had prepared in case an intelligent titan got in the way during the scouting mission… and that’s exactly what happened. Do you agree that keeping almost everyone else in the dark about it was a good idea? No. But it’s what had to be done to keep the plan from being sabotaged.
Captain Levi was undoubtedly in on it if that’s the case. Those two are practically attached to the hip. But why weren’t you informed of this? A twang of anger breaks loose in your stomach but you contain it. For now.
Speaking of the captain…
“Do you happen to know where Levi Squad went?”
“They were ordered to take Eren and hide him away from the Female Titan.”
Fuck. So they can be anywhere. The best thing to do now is to wait here and regroup later.
You see two whirlwinds of color spin through the air and lower down onto the Female Titan’s nape. Everyone leans forward to get a better look at what’s happening. But a loud clanging pierces the air and blades go flying, leaving the soldiers with stubs for weapons. Blue shimmers of glass glide down from the air as a result of the contact. Their attempt to pierce the nape appears to be unsuccessful.
Everyone looks confused.
You see now that the two figures are Miche and Captain Levi. Miche falls back on a nearby branch, where you see the commander standing. You see Commander Erwin give some type of order, but you can’t make out what it is. All you can see at this time are soldiers preparing the artillery for something.
Meanwhile, the captain swings around and landed on top of the Female Titan’s head. It’s so quiet, but you can hear Captain Levi murmuring to the titan.
“What’s happening?” You question out loud.
Nobody responds. Nobody knows. It’s quiet. Too quiet.
You nearly fall down when the Female Titan takes a huge inhale and wails at the top of its lungs, adjusting her head upward to gain more volume. Your hands immediately fly to your ears, still gripping the blades, and your eyes snap shut. Even with them being covered, you hear a distinct ringing and your eardrums sting with pain. It’s deafening and causes a wind to stir throughout the area. The ground even shakes. The scream lasts at least ten seconds. Then it goes completely quiet.
Everyone around you is shuttering and reeling from the disturbing screech, staring at the titan in shock. Your gaze returns to Captain Levi, who still remains calm.
There are a few moments of quiet until you can feel the earth starting to shake again.
The commander shouts, “Faster on the artillery, gentleman! Wagon defense squad, intercept now!”
The defense squad goes to attack the three incoming titans that are sprinting full speed towards everyone, but the titans completely ignore them. Instead, they head straight for the Female Titan. You hear the soldiers cry out Captain Levi’s name, who is still standing on its head with three raging titans coming toward him.
You almost rush in to try to help him, but he’s already got it covered when he slices through all of their napes in just a second. You have never seen him in combat before, at least in person, and all the things everyone says were right. His combat skills are beyond anything you’ve ever seen. You are no longer curious as to how Captain Levi has earned his title of Humanity’s Strongest.
A much smaller titan begins to chew at the Female Titan’s shin. Titan-on-titan cannibalism was not something you’d ever heard of in all your years in the Scouts. More and more titans are coming from every direction. You can’t even count.
“All hands, commence combat! Defend the Female Titan at all costs!”
And just like that, you are down with everyone else, fighting to protect the one thing that almost killed you. Almost killed Gemma. Killed your horse and your comrades. You channel your rage into each and every titan, assisting and killing all titans you possibly can. From the titans consuming the Female Titan’s flesh to the Survey Corps slaughtering an endless succession of titans, it’s a literal bloodbath.
You even help Captain Levi kill a few titans. He looks to you quickly and nods, as if he is implying a thank you.
You reciprocate the gesture until you are caught in a crossfire of a titan’s hand as it swings back to hit one of your comrades. You are thrown, once again, to the forest floor and land on something hard that knocks the wind out of you completely. You want to scream out, but can’t. Your body struggles to inhale when you open your mouth to breathe, your eyes bulging with fear. It feels like you’re being strangled by an unseen force.
The wind has been knocked out of you. Hard.
“Shitty fucking brat,” you hear a low voice curse. You turn towards the voice and find Captain Levi kneeling beside you. The only noise you can make in response is quiet squeaks of air. You grab at your chest and stomach and press down, trying to get your diaphragm working again. “I’m gonna pick you up.”
When he does, sharp streaks of pain course through your entire system and you finally regain the ability to scream. Captain Levi doesn’t even jerk back or anything. In fact, he remains more vigilant than ever.
Tears run down your face and you wheezily gasp for air, finally being able to breathe again. Darkness creeps in in the corners of your vision. Your eyes flutter closed and sleeping has never sounded better. Everything sounds muffled.
“Don’t you dare fall asleep,” he commands, followed by your name, snapping you out of your impending sleep. You look up at him and see his eyes watering ever so slightly. “When've you taken the easy way out of anything? Don’t start now. That’s an order.”
You laugh weakly, even though it hurts, as he calls over some other soldiers to come help. A harsh burning spreads across your ribs again. You have never been in this much pain. It’s like a white heat taking over your entire system. It’s too much for your body to handle. You just want to sleep and become numb to the pain.
“I must get my sense of humor from you,” you wheeze, trying to focus your vision on him. “I’m dying, aren’t I?”
“No. You are not dying today. I won’t allow it.”
Captain Levi places his head against yours after planting the softest kiss to your hairline. A warm feeling spreads through your fingertips and toes.
“C’mon, stay with me.”
You want more than anything to answer him, but everything becomes blurry and dark. Your hearing starts to go out again. You look up toward the trees as you can hear Captain Levi shouting at the other soldiers to hurry.
And then it’s dark and your body goes limp.

answering more POM WRAITH au/Pingo asks!!
Tumblr media
featuring: biology questions, creatures, dingo (unfortunately), and more!! check it out ↓↓
Tumblr media
she does need sleep! she doesn't need to sleep as often as people, but she's a little wraith and she needs to snooze every like... i dunno. three days? sure, let's go with that.
although in the first few days of her being on PNF404, i could see her getting bored one night and poking around her crewmate's rooms to see what they're doing (spoilers: they're all just sleeping). in the morning after, dingo talks about a very bizarre dream he had with a specter watching him sleep! everyone dismisses it as the ranger having some weird sleep paralysis, but pom's sweating at the table thinking about how she should be way more careful if she does that again.
this ask did inspire me though, i'll probably make more art explaining how she works sometime later hehe...
Tumblr media
that'd be scary... although, if there's anyone incentivized to wraithify olimar, it'd probably be the plasm wraith! that golden goo is really fond of him, and they'd love to make olimar just like them
Tumblr media
WAHH THANK YOU!!! if they ever dated and got married they'd be able to save on a dress! hehe
Tumblr media
she might look kinda scary but she's a sweetheart!! pom would genuinely struggle to make herself hurt humans. if there's a beast threatening her crew though -- that thing is mince meat!!
Tumblr media
WAAAHHH THANK YOU!! it's definitely a challenge to make it fit with the other wraiths but still be unique... it was fun to design though!!
Tumblr media
IM SORRY i didn't get to your ask before i actually posted the full wraith design... there she is though!! HILAHERHLIAEERH
Tumblr media
yes!! he's the first one to discover her secret. it'd probably happen on accident out on the field pretty early on when pom is forced to defend herself with no pikmin, but it's no difference to Oatchi -- pom is pom! he'd bark and give her helmet a lick, and when pom realizes her rescue pup isn't scared of her it's quite the relief...
i have art of oatchi and wraith pom i'll be posting later!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
WAHHH... this is cute i like this hehe!! dingo sees those striking X eyes and still falls in love!! GRRRR i must draw more pingo now...
Tumblr media
AUGH.... OK!! more pingo on the way then boss 🫡 (i do appreciate it though lmao)
Tumblr media
she doesn't need to eat human food, but she does need to consume living creatures for biomass! human food is definitely delicious and she very much enjoys things like chocolate or hot coco, but to sustain her form and keep up energy she has to go for creatures
i'll probably make art for this later to explain better, but it is kinda like an amoeba -- after killing something, she can cover it and dissolve it with her goo. easy peasy!
Tumblr media
Louie: You're a wraith? I thought you were just weird like me Pom: ... Louie: ... Can you go get creatures for me
pom is trying her best to understand human social cues and etiquette but it's a struggle sometimes!
Tumblr media
i took psychic damage from this ask thank you for penis ringo💖
Tumblr media
YES!!!!!!!!! there are so, so many ways that could happen and each one is hilarious... i've written out a few different scenarios, i should pick one to draw out... it'd be funny if dingo learns her secret but decides to trust her and keep it safe. but he's, you know. dingo. he's not good at lying, especially to his crewmates (and especially to his actual childhood friend of a doctor who was already very suspicious of the new blood!)
Tumblr media
of COURSE i'm very abnormal about those two.... actually if y'all have scenarios you wanna see with those two, send more asks and i'll probably end up drawing them lol
Tumblr media
that's actually a really good question! i haven't thought too much about how her full wraith would visually change, but if she ate enough and got stronger i imagine she'd finally be as big as the other two. she'd probably gain more wraithy abilities and attacks! trying to take down a powered up full wraith pom would be a very difficult fight, even for those with the best dandori skills and a full squad of pikmin
Tumblr media
Pom: I can't let anyone find out my secret... Shepherd: I can't let anyone find out my secret... Collin: I can't let anyone find out my secret... Dingo: I can't let anyone find out my secret... Yonny: this is gonna be fun Bernard: (doesn't care if people find out) Russ: (doesn't care if people find out) Oatchi: bark

Hi! I feel bad for having messaged twice in kinda quick succession, but I have a Bleach AU idea and don’t really have anyone to tell about it, but i hope you’d like to hear about it!
So I’ve only recently been trying to finish reading Bleach (I’ve read earlier chapters multiple times, but never managed to read past the Xcution arc). I’ve still got about 100 odd chapters to go, but I’m in the thousand year war arc finally, (and I’ve read the last few chapters, so I know how it ends, just not all of the details in between).
Anyway, I’ve recently read the bit where Kyoraku (is that his name? Shunsui, the head captain guy) actually goes to the land of the living and visits Ichigo’s friends to warn them that depending on how powerful he is once he’s sorted his issues with his Zanpakuto, he might not be able to come back home and it’s just GOT ME THINKING, because so far it’s not been mentioned again, and it isn’t in the last few chapters either, I don’t think. BUT!! What if it is that Ichigo is so powerful now that going back to the human world on a permanent basis would completely mess with the human world, so he’s forced to stay in the soul society.
So much potential for angst, with him missing his sisters and friends (and Kisuke), BUT also so much potential for absolute highjinks in the SS.
I think this could potentially be a little similar to your Turn Back the Clock AU, but I’m just imagining all of the remaining captains/lieutenants all absolutely beside themselves trying to convince Ichigo to join their teams, Shunsui is already eyeing him up for a captain position in the near future, Kenpachi (who’s still a little lost without his little sidekick (whose name I’ve forgotten, god I feel so bad because I love her)) just itching to get Ichigo to join his squad so that he can have daily fights without the trouble of having to go looking for the guy. Shinji (who without a shadow of a doubt has a soft spot for Ichigo, no matter how much he might enjoy irritating him) who wants to have him in his squad as some kind of “visords-stick-together” kinda deal (and because he knows it’d piss all the others off). Rukia laying claim because HELLO, she’s the one that stabbed him and gave him the powers in the first place, she calls dibs! Hell, I think even Byakuya would want him in his squad, because as much as he might deny it if asked, he’s actually rather fond of the guy, so long as he learns to call him Captain rather than his first name.
And as things are want to do in the SS, where the more power the shinigami, the more insane they seem to be, things get a little out of hand. During one heated discussion, where they’re all giving their updates on how well each of them think they’re doing in convincing Ichigo to join them, someone (I’m thinking a shit-stirrer like Yumichika maybe) gives the idea that hey, this competition seems almost as if you’re trying to court the guy! And so it turns into this weird ass Shinigami-courting situation, with a “whoever manages to (woo) CONVINCE Ichigo to join their squad is OBVIOUSLY the one that Ichigo likes best, so that means that he’s OBVIOUSLY also open to (after)life long commitment in the form of marriage to whichever captain wins” kinda thing going on.
Cue Ichigo not getting a single moments peace, when all he really wants is to be left alone to just PROCESS the fact that he 1) has had to leave everyone and everything he’s ever known in the human world to live with these absolutely crazy people, and 2) just fought in a very big battle and helped kill a thousands-year old crazy Quincy guy.
He’s more than happy spending his time helping clean up and rebuild the SS for now, and he’s happy to worry about what comes next once the SS is back on its feet. (And he’s more than a little oblivious to the weird fighting/flirting/coercing that seems to happen whenever he comes across any familiar face whenever he’s out and about).
It all comes to a head when his friends from home come for a visit to the soul society with those handy dandy tokens that Shunsui gave them, and instantly see what’s happening and have to sit Ichigo down and explain to him that he may or may not (but definitely does) have twenty or so extremely powerful shinigami captains and lieutenants all after his ass(ets), which, know that Ichigo thinks about it, definitely explains a few things that’ve been happening to him lately.
And shortly after his friends go back home, all three realms feel a shift in reiatsu and hear a distant screech from Kisuke, who’s suddenly realised that hey, maybe the human world sucks actually and he should relocate back to the soul society for no reason in particular! None at all! Definitely not jealousy because that would be ridiculous.
If I had the time or energy (and a better track record of finishing fics that I start 😬) I’d love to write this, but I fear it’ll be stuck in my notes forever, lol, so thought I’d share!
No I love this so much!! Especially if it's endgame UraIchi and like all this courting, all this drama, all the shenanigans from all these different high-powered shinigami all trying to get Ichigo's attention and Kisuke just rocks up and gets him within a solid 10 minutes and 5 of those were spent with Ichigo purposefully ignoring him while Kisuke apologized for some dumb petty shit he did before Ichigo ended up in SS

"Tch (y/n), she's going to get all sticky and dirty with the amount of cake frosting at her fa-"
Before Levi could continue (y/n) gently strokes her thumb at Levi's face with a big warm smile on her face.
Levi felt something cold touched his skin, he then reaches to his left cheek and saw pink frosting with a few pastel colored sprinkles.
Before Levi could complain, He saw their little daughter Luna who was at (y/n) arms, she was was looking at him while cooing and giggling, her tiny hands reaching up his face while her little legs were swinging in delight.
Luna was wearing a cute little pink dress and white little mary jane shoes with a pair of cute ribbons, Her right cheek has a few streaks of pink frosting on it.
Luna was like a little version of Levi, she has his raven black hair, his gray yet blueish orbs and his complexion, but her eyes were wide and gentle just like (y/n)'s.
"Levi, she's reaching out to you." (y/n) said gently while bringing Luna closer to Levi.
"C'mere little brat, your mom got you all dirty and sticky with all of those frosting." Levi stated while gently reaching for Luna shielding her lovingly in his arms.
"Come on Levi, its her first birthday, she deserves to try the fun things like getting frosting at her face." (y/n) said while laughing and giggling at her Husband.
Levi couldn't help but stare at his wife's genuine warm and big smile, it was a very cozy and perfect sight in Levi's perspective.
All these years he was alive he thought that living in this world will only consists of fighting titans and fighting for survival, not until he met (y/n) who eventually became his squad member and significant other, as well as the first time he held his small little daughter in his arms a few minutes after her birth looking at him with the same grey yet blueish orbs he also had.
Levi's mind was back at the past only to be pulled back to the present by Luna who presses her little nose at Levi's own.
Luna giggles while looking at her father.
"Daaa!" Luna managed to say while looking at Levi with her adorable little voice, her little legs still actively swinging in excitement as she glances at her father.
"I love you too, Luna." Levi said, his orbs conveying love, affection and gentleness.
(y/n) then approaches the two,
"Luna, its time for you to blow your cake." (y/n) said softly but in a very excited tone, she then leads Levi who was still carrying Luna to the table decorated with a soft pink table cloth with cute little pearly white colored teacups and pastel colored plates. (y/n) also prepared a lot of food since their squad members are also here to celebrate with them.
Armin, Annie, Jean, Mikasa, Eren, Reiner, Connie, Sasha, Hange, and Erwin managed to attend their little daughter's birthday party.
Everyone started to smile and sing the birthday song while Levi was carrying Luna in his arms, (y/n) standing beside them her arms holding Levi's back gently and supporting their daughter's side hugging them.
"Daaa!" Luna said energetically while trying to reach her little fisted hands to the candle flame, for some reason she first learned the word "Daaa" which means daddy since she was very fond of Levi and it somehow became her favorite word.
"Hey, be careful brat you might burn your hands." Levi said protectively, as he stepped a bit backwards.
"Luna, be careful alright? The flame might hurt your hands..." (y/n) said with a loving and motherly tone as she gently puts her index finger to Luna's small little hands, Luna accepts her mother's index finger, wrapping her little hands to it.
"Maaa!" Luna responded to her mother with a big smile on her face, it felt like she understood not to touch the burning small flame at the candle anymore.
"Its funny how Luna is not as stubborn as, Captain Levi and (y/n) even though they are her parents." Connie stated in a teasing tone while Jean laughed holding his stomach.
"Hey you two, do you want Captain Levi to kick us out?" Armin asked them while trying to stop them from teasing the two parents.
"Hey, if they kick us out we wont be able to try and eat the food (y/n) prepared." Sasha said while crossing her arms and making a pouty expression, she then glances at the meat at the table prepared with mushrooms and gravy making her eyes sparkle.
"Alright thats it, if you all don't stop with the teasing I'll make sure you all clean the whole squad headquarters tonight." Levi said, his tone was commanding but it was laced with warmth and gentleness.
"Come on Levi, its Luna's birthday, loosen up a bit and let them tease. Besides its not like its false that you and (y/n) both have the stubborn and reckless attitude just like Luna." Hange laughed in a teasing tone while looking at the family of three in front of the birthday cake.
After all of the teasing and laughter, Levi and (y'n) leans forward together with Luna looking at the birthday cake and the small pink candle as they made a wish for their daughter, since Luna was not yet capable of blowing candles and only made cooing noises while trying to reach for the burning flame, Levi and (y'n) did it for her.
Luna's smile was priceless after her parents made their wish and blew her birthday candle, and everyone was in awe of the sight, it was a family of three, not to mention Captain Levi who was always a reserved person with a cold exterior, his eyes were now very gentle and filled with warmth as he looks at his daughter and his wife.
(y'n)'s gaze also held the same emotions, as she looks at Levi and their little girl with those gentle and loving gaze she always holds for them.
Later on, Sasha, Eren and Connie asks Levi if they can carry Luna with the look of anticipation written in their faces as their eyes sparkle with affection and excitement while looking at Luna.
"Tch, be careful brats if any of you accidentally drops her I'll make sure you all will regret it." Levi stated with a hint of irritation and threat as he lets Sasha hold onto the little girl who was looking at Sasha with wide eyes and a big smile at her face.
(y/n) approaches Levi placing another stroke of pink frosting at his nose this time.
"Tch I told you not to-" before Levi could continue he saw one of the most priceless and prettiest scenery again, it was his wife giggling and looking at him like a little child who saw nothing but peace and only the beautiful aspects of this world.
Levi then puts his thumb at the side of the cake, swiping it to the soft pink frosting then gently stroking his finger at (y/n)'s nose and cheeks with a hint of nothing but love and tenderness at his gaze.
(y/n) was caught a bit off guard but she steps forward embracing Levi delicately, she then cups his face with both of her hands a few of her fingers still covered with a bit of frosting.
"I love you, thank you for you, and for giving me Luna." (y/n) said her eyes converying a lot of love for him and their daughter.
"I love you too (y/n) thank you for bringing Luna to our little world." Levi said as he grabs her waist closer to him and pressing a kiss at her lips.
"You two should get a room." Erwin said while Reiner and Jean were both laughing like they've seen a dumb looking titan or something.
Hange then speaks in a teasing tone "Hey, don't you all think its a bit early to give Luna a little sister?"
"Shut up four eyes, its none of your bussiness." Levi said with a frown but later on his expression was replaced with a small smile as he looks at (y/n) again gently placing a kiss on her forehead this time.
"You hear that? I think auntie Hange and uncle Erwin is more than happy to look after Luna tonight," Levi said while looking at (y/n) with a small and playful smirk.
"I think that could be arranged, Captain." (y/n) said with a small smile and soft chuckles.
"Hey cover her eyes sasha, she can't see people kissing yet!" Connie said to Sasha who placed his hands at Luna's eyes gently to block her view of her parents kissing and being all lovingly.
"Hey brat and potato girl, didn't I tell you not to touch her face with your dirty hands?" Levi said with a hint of annoyance and threat.
"I- I'm sorry Captain, we both promise we are both clean and germs free, right Luna?" Connie asked Luna who was just smilling and giggling her little legs still swaying actively.
"Meaaaa!" Luna said while Sasha was carrying her.
"Did she just said Meat?" Eren asked while Reiner was laughing stupidly at the back while Mikasa was looking at Luna with her gently gaze.
"Did you all seriously thought her how to say meat?" (y/n) said while laughing.
A small smile made its way to Levi's lips, seeing his squad with his daughter was a very peaceful sight for him, and his wife by his side with her gaze holding nothing but love, warmth, affection and tenderness.
Annie and Mikasa then gently took Luna from Sasha and Connie, "She'll be staying with us for now, right little Luna?" Mikasa asked with a soft and gentle voice while Annie was delicately carrying her.
Armin and Eren stared at the two young scouts with awe as their cheeks both started to uncontrollably blush.
"Looks like someone has a crush." Hange nudged the two with her elbows playfully.
"He-Hey its not like that." Eren said as he playfully frowns at Hange with a shade of red still lingering on his cheeks, while armin was covering his face that looks red as strawberries.
"Lets all eat now, the food might get cold, I'll also slice the cake now." (y/n) stated as she grabbed the small dainty pastel colored plates.
Everyone had a great time, as they all celebrated Luna's first birthday.
Tumblr media
After the Birthday party was over, Luna was now peacefully sleeping at her crib which was beside (y/n) and Levi's bedside.
"Hey, you look tired." Levi said while he reaches for (y/n)'s arms encouraging her to join him at their shared bed with his already tired and heavy eyelids.
(y/n) joins him as they both tuck themselves together in their comfy shared bed, their bodies seeking warmth and comfort from each other, Levi wraps his arms around her and she did the same, her face resting at Levi's chest while he strokes her hair as they both were covered with the warm sheets of the bed.
"I really did enjoy today..." (y/n) said to Levi with her usual soft voice, her gaze softening even more.
"Our little brat is growing healthy and happily each day, I'm happy too (y/n)." Levi responded while pulling (y/n) closer to him.
"Did we both have the same wish for Luna's birthday?" (y/n) asked Levi curiously.
"I suppose yes, and I have nothing more to wish for, as I already have both of them here with me." Levi said looking at (y/n) leaning forward to her and planting a gentle kiss on her lips, he then glances at Luna who was still sleeping peacefully, his tone of voice and gaze once again laced with love and affection.
Levi and (y/n) both found peace and happiness in their little one, their little moon, that served as their light in their dark and hard moments in life.
Despite everything that happened as well as the hardships, (y/n) and Levi both knew that they'll be alright as long as they can provide a happy, loving and peaceful family to Luna, with their warm smiles and priceless cozy moments together, which they both had always wished for.

Ruben Dias x Reader - City Girls Part 7/8
Yeah this is a mess I can't fix 😅. Had fun writing this chapter tho since it ft Kyle Walker whom I am very fond of 🤣
Tumblr media
Reader plays for the Man City girls academy. She struggles a bit but gets Ruben to mentor her. The the two don't hit off despite having many things in common. It all gets worse when Reader eventually catches feelings for Ruben.
Enjoy!
Cityzens Day.
It was mainly for the club sponsors but alot of players brought along their families and friends as the day was filled with fun activities, football challanges and the ever so popular guided tour inside the Ethiad campus.
It was your first time attending, although it was mandatory for all City players. A little sad, that you weren't able to bring your family from Brazil. They would have loved it, especially the chance to play football at the Ethiad Stadium. Apparently that was the highlight of the event, a friendly game between players from all levels, men, women, girls and boys, and of course their families. The game would be broadcasted on the teams website and it usually brought alot of laughs to alot of people. You couldn't wait to play, but until then you wandered the campus alone, watching other players enjoying spending quality time with their families.
"Hey Y/N, come here!"
You were observing a very intense juggling contests between an academy player and someone's kid, when coach spotted you in the crowd, waving you over.
"Meet my family." He stood next to a beautiful red-haired woman and young boy with a toothy smile. "This is my wife Trish, my son Ethan and that over there..." He pointed towards the crowd, to the center of it, where the juggling contests was happening. "That is my daughter Lucy." He said.
"Wow, she's really good."
She was definitely bruising the ego of the young academy player. He would certainly up his juggling game after this.
"You know, she reminds me alot of you." Coach smiled. "I can't get her to stop juggling the ball either."
"Seems like her talent won't go to waste today, the price is a Playstation 6, no?"
You shared a laugh. Coach had a lovely family who had flown all the way from Australia to see him. Cityzens Day was really the best time for that.
A food truck pulled up to campus just in time for lunch. You bought a taco bowl so big that you had to share it with another player as she saw you struggling.
"So when are you coming to play with us again." She asked, you knew her as Alison Bennett.
"I dunno?" You sighed. "I don't think I fit into the kind of squad your coach wants."
"Are you joking?" Alison frowned. "But you played so well with us."
It was strange really, but since it happned more than once now, that you got excluded from playing with the first team, you simply assumed the worst. Even though Ruben told you not to worry about it, you couldn't help but to. Your development as a player was at stake. And the fact that Ruben's diet helped you put on a few pounds was not a constellation. Perhaps the coaches on the first team had noticed, that you were getting fat?
"Speaking of playing, are you on for the game this afternoon?" Alison asked.
"The game against cityzens?"
"Yeah?"
You smiled. "I wouldn't miss it for the world."
"Great. I really hope you're on my team. I'm the captain. We're gonna need...."
Alison got tuned out as you sighted something in the distance, or better yet, someone. It was Ruben, walking side by side with a woman just as tall as him only thinner. She was wearing a Man City jersey, sporting the number three, Ruben's number three. He held a hand to her lower back, guiding her around, introducing her to his teammates.
"Speaking of players I would like on my team." Alison took notice of where all your attention had gone. "We could surley use a defender like Dias."
"Ruben?" You asked, your voice a bit strained.
She nodded "He's like the best defender City's got. We'll never concede goals with him on our team."
You turned back to look at Ruben and the woman he had brought. Could it be his girlfriend? In that case Ruben didn't have a type, because you looked nothing like her.
"He used to coach me, you know?" Alison leaned in and whispered.
"Who, Ruben?"
She bit her lip, nodding her head.
"B...but you're a forward?"
"So? Aren't you one too? Nevertheless,  Ruben used to teach me how to improve my skills. You know, help me get past the...."
"Defenders." You said, finishing of her sentence.
"Yeah, exactly. He's a really good coach."
"I can imagine." You ignored the painful beating of your heart. "Tell me..." You asked. ".. did you used to go to his place to, you know,"hang out"?"
She snorted. "No, why would I do that?"
"Oh."
A slight relief.
Alison stood, having helped you finish your meal. Her smile was devious. "No, Ruben used to take me back to the infirmary. We used to"hang out" there."
Your heart sank.
It was the realization that perhaps you were one of many.
********************************************
The afternoon sun was setting over Manchester City, but Cityzens Day was far from over. The game of cityzens was still on the agenda.
You laced up your cleats and stepped onto the football pitch at the magnificent Ethiad Stadium. It was truly breath taking playing in front so many people. Although the game was for fun, you were determined to showcase your talent, and even more determined to win against Ruben and his team. That's right, he was the captain of a squad containing lots of good players from all divisions. Players that made your teammates look like freaking toddlers.
"Alright! Ladies, fellas, huddle up!" A man urged for all the players on your team to gather around him. He was big, but funny looking, with a voice that did not match his brutal appearance.
"I'm Kyle Walker, but you can call me your captain for this evening."
"Captain?" Alison frowned. You were lucky to have her om your team, however, she did not look happy to find the captains armband handed to someone else. "We never voted for you to be our captain." She protested.
"Well, you should have. I have the experience when it matters and feel confident that I can lead this team to victory." He said.
"How?" A young U21 player squealed. Like the rest of you he was glaring at Ruben and his team as they warmed up on the opposite side of the pitch. The majority of Ruben's squad were players from the men's first team, including their assistant coaches.
"They're gonna eat us alive." The boy said, to which everyone agreed.
"Well that's not the spirit. Come on guys, hands in." Kyle ordered for everyone to stretch out a hand towards the ring you formed. "Victory on three, alright. One...two...three...VICTORY!" Kyle shouted, whilst the rest of you mumbled the words. Nevertheless you personally were not intimidated. You had played against tough opponents before, and you knew that you had a team that could give it their all, because Manchester City was arguably the best football club in the world.
The whistle blew, and the game began.
The first half was a blur of sweat and noise, as the two teams battled it out on the field. You dribbled and ran, dodging and weaving around your opponents, but Ruben and his team were tough to beat. They were bigger and stronger, and they had a few tricks up their sleeves.
"Whatta fuck!"
You ate dirt as Ruben ordered his players to tag team you. You stood no chance as Ruben was well aware that you rather go on your own than pass the ball.
"I'm sorry Y/N."
Ester pulled you up from the ground, having helped her teammates knock you down. She was playing for Ruben but seemed genuinely sorry for how he was running his play.
"Just give me the ball." You scuffed, as coach blew the whistle, handing your team a freekick for the offense made against you.
Kyle took it and missed.
The game resumed.
"Come on team, it's not over yet!" Your "captain", encouraged. "Fight until the end!"
As the second half began, your team was down by three goals, the majority of players being tired, cold and dirty, ready to throw in the towel. But you refused to give up. You knew that you had to do something to turn the game around, and you were determined to be the one to make it happen.
The moment didn't reveal itself until injury time. During he last minute's of the game. Ruben misjudged a pass, and you saw your chance. Charging directly towards him you had no other intention than to dribble past him.
"Pass the ball!" Kyle shouted, pointing to Alison who stood open, ready to receive the assist.
Your heart was pounding in your chest, you had to do this, you had to try and get past him. However Ruben's braud frame made it nearly impossible for you to sight the goal behind him. He looked smug, aware that your chances of getting past him were slim to none. But you had prepared for this. Ruben had prepared you for this. As he lunged forwards, you did not hesitate to bring the fight to him. The two of you clashed together, with Ruben's strangeth throwing you off, however you had suprised him with an elbow to his lower ribs, the quick jab making him fold before your eyes. It was your chance to get past him. For that split second that you caught him lacking you managed to ship the ball in the air and leaped your body over Ruben's extended leg. It was the moment of the match, the crowd on their feet watching a 60kg girl go head to head with one of the world's greatest defenders, beating him to it, sending the ball into the back off the net.
The crowd erupted in cheers, and your team rushed onto the field, arms around each other's shoulders, grinning from ear to ear.
"That's what I'm talking about. That's how we play!" Kyle Walker was in the verge of tears. You may have lost the game, but you had proven that you were not to be underestimated. Not now, not ever. By anyone.
"Great game Y/N."
"Um, thanks."
Ester approached you as the pitch cleared of people, friends and family members heading their respective ways. Cityzens Day was officially over.
"I really mean it, you played amazing."
You were on the ground tying your cleats. Looking up at Ester you sighed. "What do you want?"
Her expression was hard to read, her eyes desperate to tell you somthing. "I..." She squealed.
You stood, hands on your hips. "Yes?"
She sighed. "I'm sorry it had to be this way...between us. You really deserve to play with the first team but so do I. I've fought all of my life for this position."
"And I haven't?" You gasped. "Ester if you've got somthing else to say to me I rather not hear it." You turned your back on her and walked away, however, she fought to catch up to you.
"Come on Y/N. At least now you get to be with your boyfriend. I mean it was his idea."
"Whatta hell are you talking about Ester. I don't have a boyfriend."
"Could have fooled me." She chuckled, to which you frowned. "Ruben practically begged me not to tell the club officials about you two. He told me that he would talk to the coaches on the first team, tell them how you were having problems settling into a new country, mental problems, that were effecting your performance."
"He did what?"
Suddenly you lost the sensation of your hands and feet.
Ester nodded. "It worked. The coaches on the first team didn't want to put pressure on you by calling you up to play for them and so they picked me instead. It's a win-win for both of us since you get to be with Ruben and I get to play."
You were lost for words, trying to make sense of her words that were like riddles to your ears. However one thing was clear, Ruben had betrayed you, and for what?
