Who I am and what I do in fandom

This blog sometimes contains NSFW content, which I tag with a simple nsfw if you are a minor or if you just want to avoid it.

The main thing I do in the HP fandom is writing and discussing femslash and rarepairs, in particularly those related to Narcissa Malfoy and anything related to the marauders era. I tend to write and talk about ships/characters more than I read fic about them (if you want me to read a fic, please be patient bc I do it very slowly), and I am literally always down to chat about anything Narcissa or femslash related. Feel free to tag me if we're in a discord server together, send me an ask, or literally just DM me on here.

My favourite ships to write are Dorcas/Narcissa and Sirius/Narcissa, but I write a lot of rarepairs and femslash! I have a masterlist of fics I’ve written right here.

I am a co-admin of the Sirius Black discord server and the Narcissa Malfoy discord server. I’m also a moderator for @hptransfest and @hp-mcd-fest, both of which run yearly.

I am trying to get into reccing and writing more meta-ish posts, which is a bit of a slower process. Here are my rec lists and meta posts so far.

As someone who was scammed out of a lot of money from a tumblr scammer, I thought I should share my experience so no one else gets fooled into losing some much needed cash.

How to identify scammers:

1. They will create a brandnew blog and only reblog maybe five or so posts to prove legitimacy.

2. They have a pinned donation post with the text copy-paste from GoFundMe or other websites, as well as stolen pictures from real campaigns.

3. They always link to a paypal account, almost never a GoFundMe account. Check paypal name with known scammers online or on tumblr.

4. They send out asks, copy and pasted, to as many people as possible, especially those who have been suckers before, requesting that you respond to the ask privately and reblog their pinned post.

When donating or promising donations in a week’s time, beware of this behavior:

5. They complain about tumblr taking their posts down “for no reason” hence why they are contacting you under a new url.

6. They share with you a video of their animal with the video mostly in darkness for various reasons--usually with the animal making noises. (For cats, natural yowling for food. For dogs, usually from dog videos online. Sometimes videos of actual injured animals, with injuries given by the scammer themselves.)

7. They claim to be grateful for your donation, promising to contact you when their pet is better.

8. Literally a day later, the animal is better.

9. They will try to get you to reblog someone else’s paypal donation link who they will claim to have shared some of their money with and who is also a scammer.

10. They will never speak to you again after the above.

I have since recouped my loses via other means so don’t worry about me. Just be careful of any ask that request you reblog something and also respond privately.

If you find someone who does this, please report them to tumblr, post an image of the ask if possible so others are aware of it (some blogs are keeping record of #scams and #scammers), and delete the original ask (only answer it and call it out if you want them to never speak to you again).

More work being done on the block. The workers all speaking in Spanish, their voices often rising above the hammering and drilling, often sounding (uh) festive. When I was on the road, down in Lancaster, PA, I remember reading in a local newspaper about the influx of Latin workers. The locals, being tight-lipped and laconic, often didn't know what to make of them, or their colloquy. They said that when they overheard a conversation, or one person greeting another, they thought that a fight had broken out.

Today is Julie's nineteen birthday. The celebration will be at Citi Field (for me, a new location) and will involve watching a ball game. The Mets. Kenichi, like his mom, has become a real Mets fan. Because of his political activity he "knows some people" out there. (He gets around.)

The trip out to the stadium is no fun. Crowded, rush hour. I have to stand all the way. No surprise, this. On arriving I don't recognize anything from the old days (it's been years since I was here). By old days I mean the Forest Hills years when Kenny and I used to ride our bikes together. I knew the territory quite well, then. A brandnew (to me) stadium looms in the distance. (I still remember Shea Stadium...and after it, it's successor...now gone)

I find Kenichi and family. He is obviously still in some pain and is walking with a cane, but soldering on as it is Julie's big day.

Inside the stadium we gather with other invitees (a bunch of them) and I am standing in an open air food court, in the sun, and begin to fade. There is no place to sit down. I seek shade. The party has begun. Kenichi really knows how to throw a party. I can sneak away and not be missed.

In time we are seated, looking down at the field. The hip hop music never ceases (they've even imported a DJ). The Mets take on the Braves. One inning leads to another and the Mets are shut out. After the game: Fireworks! A huge production. Kenichi tells me they do this several times in the summer and fans flock to see it. (Could easily explain why there were more on hand tonight; the Mets are struggling this year. Attendance has suffered.) Later: We part ways. I take the stairs and Kenich heads for the ramp. Can't do stairs yet...poor guy. Easy trip home on the Number 7, changing to the Number 1... arriving late. At 11:45 they are still celebrating on the plaza at Lincoln Center. The pulsing of monotonous music. Bright lights. A disco ball. Then...home...and glad to be. Nice to put one's feet up. Hard to believe Julie is nineteen and has already concluded a year of college.

Just to add to the “I’m so happy” discourse, I wanted to go back to the “family show” bit he did tonight. I only watched it during the live and I haven’t seen any videos of it, so I might be mis remembering it or “reading too much into things”, as we do. But it his “…or is it?” felt different to me. Not playful, not to rile up the crowd - he said it twice, and both times it was (or felt at the time) quiet and kind of somber? It struck me as weird as I watched, and when later I saw pics of O and the kids w/Anne at the show, it kinda clicked that maybe he was using that bit to say something else this time? Like, it looks like we’re all here as a big happy family… or are we?

Would love to see video of this again if anyone has one.

He's like there's no time to go to the bathroom or anything else because "we have about 15 minutes of straight dancing". He does word it like that every show, rather than over 15 straight minutes of dancing / a straight 15 minutes of dancing / 15 minutes straight of dancing, which, any of the above he'd be saying we got 15 consecutive minutes of dancing, but no the way he says it, without fail, it is the dancing that is straight, so read into that all you want. Whatever he's on with that. Anyway he says "this is a family show. Bunch of families are here tonight, this is a family show." Like, the straight dancing parts flows over in the mention of a family show... does he try to imply with straight dancing that it needs to be family-safe? Like, no hoe dances? He can't go as off as he wants, or as gay as he wants. I don't know man. And then he goes: "Orrr is it..... it is. it is a family show. Orrrrr is it", and none of that is with that burst of energy we've seen him say these things with before indeed. Yeah idk if it's superdeep, how can we, I think he knows the fans want that and so he does it, ever show he does it, and I mean mermaids at least half human, we have moods, aren't always feeling it, doesn't have to mean anything I guess, who knows. 🤷

A commission for @not-the-cavalry​, who wanted badass Bucky and competent Tony to save the day. Which they do repeatedly. And in their very own, special ways. Or, alternatively; 5 times Bucky is a total badass plus the one time Tony proves he’s still got it.

Tony lets his head fall back against the wall with a sigh, wondering once again why the universe hates him enough to do this to him on one of his rare days off. All he’d wanted was to spend one quiet, peaceful afternoon with Bucky, but no, apparently they can’t even get burgers without some wannabe-villain—Flag Smacker? Flag Smasher?—deciding to take everyone in their favourite diner hostage.

He’s been ranting about the abolition of country borders in order to achieve world peace—while threatening to blow up a diner full of innocent people—for nearly fifteen minutes now, and Tony really wishes he hadn’t decided to go completely Iron Man-free today.

“Fuck’s sake,” Bucky mutters from next to Tony, rubbing tiredly at his face when Tony turns to look at him. “Is this guy for real?”

Before Tony has the chance to answer, Bucky springs up to his feet and advances on the guy with a shouted, “Hey!”

The guy swivels to point his gun at Bucky, but hesitates when Bucky doesn’t stop. It’s his undoing; by the time he’s aimed, Bucky’s already on him, landing a punch to his face with a crunch that makes Tony wince.

Tony glances down at the guy, writhing and moaning on the floor, then around the diner at the gaping people and, finally, up at Bucky. “Well. That’s one way of doing it.”

Bucky nudges the guy’s gun away with the tip of his boot. “All I wanted was a damn cheeseburger.”

“Iron Man, come in!” Steve yells over the comms, Doombots screeching in the background. “The Winter Soldier is injured, we need an extraction.”

Tony’s heart skips a beat and he speeds up, nearly clipping the edge of a building in his hurry. To his relief, Bucky is actually still standing when he finally spots him and Steve, though he’s panting and his prosthetic arm is hanging limply at his side.

Tony winces. “Shit.”

But then, before he’s even landed, Bucky charges at a Doombot, jumps up high, twists while still in the air and smacks the deadweight of his arm into the Doombot’s middle, sending it flying and crashing into the nearest car.

Tony raises an eyebrow at Steve.

Steve just sighs and shakes his head.

“You stabbed me!” the Hydra agent screeches at Bucky, before turning his incredulous gaze on Tony. “He stabbed me!”

It doesn’t happen often, but sometimes, even Tony is lost for words. After a moment, he manages to offer, “Well, you did wave a gun in his face.”

The Hydra agent almost looks like he’s pouting. “Cap’s never stabbed me before!”

“Do I look like fuckin’ Captain America to you?” Bucky growls as he stalks closer, twirling another knife between his fingers.

With a squeak, the Hydra agent moves to stand behind Tony.

Bucky smirks.

The Hydra base goes up in flames as Bucky’s walking away from it, not a scratch on him or a hair out of place.

Clint nods to himself. “Cool guys don’t look at explosions.”

Sam pretends he’s not laughing. Nat does grin, completely unashamed.

“Bucky, what the hell—” Steve starts, only to be interrupted by a chorus of, “Language, Cap!”

It’s almost embarrassing to admit that Hammer’s caught him off-guard, but, well. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. And, as loath as he is to admit it, Hammer isn’t a complete idiot and did strip Tony of everything he might be able to use as a weapon.

Which means Tony’s sitting in his cell in nothing but his underwear, shivering against the cold concrete, handcuffed and chained to the wall.

“What a pretty picture you make,” Hammer coos as he comes to crouch in front of Tony, grinning wildly and gun held loosely in one hand. “Now, you know the spiel by now, don’t you? We can do this the easy way or the hard way, blah blah blah. So! What’s it going to be, Tony?”

Upstairs in the warehouse, someone yells angrily and the sound of gunfire starts up.

Tony quirks an eyebrow up at Hammer.

“Nothing my men can’t handle,” Hammer dismisses, going for confident, but his hand twitches nervously and he absently licks his bottom lip. “Now, Tony. The blueprints. Do you have any idea—well, it’s you, so of course you do.”

He straightens up, pacing in front of Tony, free hand on his hip. “And since you’ve decided you’re too high and mighty to build things that actually matter, that make a true difference, I thought I’d be so nice and take those plans off your hands.”

Somewhere above them, something blows up.

“The blueprints, Tony!” Hammer hisses, a little wild-eyed now. When Tony stays silent, he moves closer again, curling a hand around Tony’s throat. “What, nothing to say? Don’t get tongue-tied now. No need for modesty between old friends.”

The cell door comes flying inwards, making Hammer jump and whirl around, gun raised.

Bucky allows himself a moment to take in the scene in front of him, then points his own gun at Hammer’s knee, teeth bared in a snarl. Unlike Hammer, he has no qualms about pulling the trigger.

Hammer flinches, but recovers quickly when nothing happens. “Oh! Oh, this is just perfect!” he laughs giddily. “Did you lose count?”

Still cackling, Hammer continues to tease, but Tony isn’t listening, too busy trying not to laugh at the look Bucky is shooting him that very clearly asks, “Is he fuckin’ serious right now?”

Tony just shrugs and then does laugh, loudly, when Bucky gives a shrug of his own and throws his empty gun right into Hammer’s smug face.

“Hi, honey, nice of you to show up,” he says, still grinning, as Bucky steps over Hammer’s unconscious form and comes to kneel at Tony’s side. “Took you long enough.”

Bucky snorts and rips open the cuffs. “Everyone’s a critic.”

Tony allows himself a day of being the worried boyfriend, sitting at Bucky’s bedside and holding his hand and watching his ashen face, before he pulls himself together and gets to work.

They’ve known the identity of the head of the smuggling ring for months, have intercepted countless shipments of alien technology, but actually pinning it on the guy in charge has proven incredibly tricky. There’s always been someone to take the fall for him, some evidence that vanished under mysterious circumstances, a witness who suddenly changed their mind about testifying.

It’s been infuriating and frustrating, yes, but now? With Bucky hurt and no one sure how long it will take him to recover? Now, it’s personal.

Getting an invitation to the party hosted by the politician’s son turned hustler is a piece of cake; he knows the government as well as the Avengers are after him, but he’s also convinced he’s untouchable and that has made him cocky.

Having Iron Man attend his little shindig? Tony knew he wouldn’t be able to refuse.

The scans and frisking before he’s allowed into the mansion are expected and he smiles good-naturedly through the whole process, cracking jokes and readily handing over his phone, wallet and watch to be confiscated. And once he’s inside, things couldn’t go any smoother.

He small-talks and networks, laughs and flirts, and happily accepts when Rami, the guy he’s after, asks him for a dance, letting him lead them out onto the floor. They chat idly the first few minutes, both extremely aware of who they’re with and what kind of game they’re playing, but eventually Rami breaks.

“Your friend, Sergeant Barnes,” he says, all feigned compassion, “I hope he’s well?”

Tony smiles with maybe a little too much teeth. “Expected to make a full recovery, but thank you. Your concern is appreciated.”

It’s when the song changes to something slower that Tony gets his chance. Their bare hands come together as they resettle into position and, with a quick, featherlight tap of his finger against Rami’s wrist, things are set in motion.

And Tony doesn’t have to wait long. Rami cuts himself off mid-sentence only a few seconds later, frowning and blinking rapidly. Tony puts on a mock-sympathetic face. “Feeling a little hot, are we?”

Rami, to his credit, catches on immediately, hissing out, “What did you do?”

“Nothing yet,” Tony says with an innocent smile, tightening his hold on Rami when he goes to pull back. “But, as we speak, nanotechnology is making itself at home in your body. Not an issue in general, quite the opposite,” he drawls and lets the brandnew Bleeding Edge armour curl around his fingers, watching in satisfaction as Rami’s eyes go wide. “But should it, let’s say, cause a blockage in a major artery? Or rapidly expand somewhere it isn’t supposed to? That could, indeed, cause some trouble.”

“What do you want?” Rami demands, through gritted teeth, and Tony beams as he chirps, “Look me in the eyes.”

Rami’s confusion melts away as soon as Tony activates the Iron Man HUD lenses, morphing into absolute outrage. He’s smart enough to stay quiet, though.

“A confession, if you’d be so kind,” Tony says as he begins recording. “Not that it will be necessary, the nanobots will be deep in your phone and private servers by now, but showing some measure of regret always looks good in front of a jury.”

With everything activated, the Avengers as well as SHIELD and the FBI will already have been alerted and be on their way, a live feed of what Tony sees and every bit of information the ‘bots dig up getting sent to all their electronic devices. Whether Rami confesses or not is irrelevant, though Tony certainly enjoys watching him fume and squirm.

But then, after a few moments, Rami starts talking.

And if Tony snags a bottle from behind the bar as he leaves? Well, he’s pretty sure no one’s going to say anything, given the circumstances. And Bucky does like his whiskey.

A Brand New You

When you were born again, you did not become an improved version of your old self. Contrary to popular belief, God is not in the recycling or re-purposing business. He did not take the old you and recreate it into something else. What He did was much better.

The Bible says that if you are in Christ, you are a new creature, kainós, a new species of being. Glory be to God! You are not the old you made new. No! You are something that never existed before. You are a brandnew creation of the God-Kind with no past and a bright and glorious future.

It says, “old things are passed away,” then in verse 18, it says, “and all things are of God.” Oh, hallelujah! Every negative and limiting belief about yourself is no longer true. Quarantine made me...

Well I can say that this home quarantine definitely made me do a lot of things I did not expect that I would enjoy doing and things that came out of my mind suddenly. The following do not include reading or studying but I must say that these things made me even more productive throughout this quarantine period. It really feels good that we are able to discover new things that we never imagined we are capable of doing and enjoy it as well.

The very first thing that I learned was to take care of my body, I watched out my diet, I also tried home work outs because it is important to keep our muscles and bones strong and healthy to avoid complications. However, when our online classes started my time for it was lessened but I still exercise during my free time.

I also learned to sew and redesign my old clothes. I did not think of doing this until I saw my old clothes that I no longer use very much.

Just like any millennials, I am sure that I am not the only one in this situation but I started to shop online and sell as well. I encourage everyone to try this venture since transactions are safe, contact-less and super easy although we should also be careful and inquisitive of who we are dealing with. On the “selling” side, together with my friends, we began selling our preloved & brandnew items through instagram. I learned to earn and save my own money and It could even prepare us to become successful entrepreneurs or businessmen if we opt to pursue this path in the future

During the quarantine, I also had the time experimenting on make-up looks that I post in my Instagram account, I learned to enhance my skills at the same time I do my hobby. Of course, If you put on makeup you also need to take care of your skin. Now that I have the time for myself I learned to take better care for my skin, I invested on skincare products which made my skin a lot healthier today.

My quarantine days became much more exciting when we decided to foster a puppy we named him Covido. It came with different responsibilities, that is why I learned how to take care of a dog, you need to feed, clean and pet it, you need to keep an eye on him too so he would not destroy or meddle the things at home. 

Speaking of responsibilities and I am just at home I do chores more often and now I enjoy cooking, I learned to cook several dishes for my family and I even learned experimenting on it.

When I have free time I watch movies and series on netflix and I recently discovered that there is a part of me that is into action, war and historical films. I saw myself enjoying those kind of film genres. I learned to expand my interests when it comes to those things and it really provided me knowledge and information on history.

Lastly, since I use my phone most of the time I learned how to edit photos for our IG shop and also for blogs that I posted the photo above is just an example of it. I am enhancing my editing skills little by little.

I am very glad that during this pandemic I am able to learn, enhance and unlock some activities in my life. I feel proud and relieved of what I have achieved for the past months. 

Doing such activities I learned that it is very significant to take care of your body, do brainstorming to exercise your brain, be able to earn money for yourself, enhance your skills, give time to know things that happened from the past and enjoy it and be more responsible and aware.
