Source An interesting post on the olde Blondes and Brunettes club from just before Operation Bridgehead. This is in reference to the history page in Sedgwick's Against The Modern World. This same history is later repeated by the Aristasian Preservation Project and is, generally, considered to be fact. Or at least fact adjacent. It is interesting to note that Miss Alice Lucy Trent was very probably the same pette as Miss Priscilla Langridge. Miss Falconer, whom Miss Trent says is the most important early member of Aristasia, is certainly a mystery. She contributed stories to the old zines the pettes released in the 1980s, but doesn't seem to ever have revealed herself. I have long suspected she was also the same pette as Priscilla Langridge, and I would assume that this mysterious accident is pure, dramatic, fantasy. My suspicions are based on such vague things as "vibes", and certain known members of proto-Aristasia-in-Telluria, referring to Priscilla as "Jennifer", Priscilla herself referring to Jenny as "a friend", and the simple fact that both of them were very important to the early days of Aristasia and both were known for their inventive fiction. I believe that Miss Jenny Falconer (and the other, similar, spellings of both first and last name) was an early nom de plume slash personae of the equally mysterious Miss Priscilla Langridge.
I am also suspicious of the name "Aristasia" being used in private before the 1990s, simply because much literature, filled with fanciful world building that bears a shocking resemblance to Aristasia, had been released by this same group. And it would seem a bit strange that they would write about, say, the imaginary kingdom of Romanita, which bears the same kingdoms of Aristasia and even the same map as Aristasia, but simply call it a secret second name. Often times, I feel like these types of essays written by Aristasians were simply there to complain about how wrong other people got it. Even when they themselves were the direct source of the information.

I’ll never forget the tradwife blogger who admitted that her husband had some kind of mental health episode and refused to work afterwards. How she sometimes hoped that she could just die and her dogs might eat her. How she became obsessed with some kind of fanfiction (i don’t remember what) as a coping mechanism.. How her son asked if she could grind up dad’s medicine and sneak it into his food.
it made me realize that attempting a private retreat from modern society only gives you the worst of both worlds. This woman still dealt with all the isolation and atomization of modern life and she was trapped in a hell-marriage by her own beliefs. She still had to do all the household chores, laundry and cleaning and cooking and all those wifely duties, against a backdrop of complete loneliness. She didn’t have solitude and her only companionship was a few fellow-travelers on the internet.
It also made me realize that being dependent on another person is never gonna be the answer. Yes, we’re dependent on all sorts of people to some extent or another, including impersonal forces (the market, the climate, covid etc.) that are completely out of our control. But giving up control to another person is never ever going to inspire them to be a better person.
This woman sincerely believed that kicking her husband out would only hurt her and her family.  Even though her son (who was maybe 12) was clearly picking up on his father’s instability. I’m sure her husband did many things that she never told us.
I really do understand the desire to escape the modern world. I do. Her blog by itself was fairly level-headed, even though she linked to a lot of cranks and lunatics. But her reward for going “against the modern world” was a bit of religious consolation for keeping herself and her child in a bad situation.
She didn’t say how they were surviving, if she had to go back to work, if they had help from family. She deleted the posts and stopped updating a few weeks after that. The silver lining is that she only had one kid, so she didn’t have to juggle a Duggar-sized brood, a job, and her husband. I wonder where she is today.
A lot of people lead lowkey depressing lives and tradwives are no exception. Why would they be? I’m not trying to say modern life is all great, I’ve seen the endgame for single cat ladies and that can be its own hell too. But trying to do some nuclear family retreat from society is not gonna be the answer.

Seriously??
Stop saying that the gods and goddesses are mysoginists or feminists… They aren't, they weren't! I'm sick of reading or listen how some gods are insulted or acused of mysoginists or some others are acused of feminists… No! They not!
They were religious deities! They still are, because there's an Hellenistic community of worshipers! But i'll talk of the Ancient Greece… I'm not Greek, but i don't like how some gods and goddesses are treated just for their myths and the same people say that were the Greeks whose actually treated the gods like that! What's i'm saying?
"Zeus is a dick, a mysoginist, a r*pist even worse that his son Apollo, he can't kept his pants on and that's how the greeks portrayed him, so… the greeks says that Zeus is a dick"
What? Seriously??? The Greek whose worshiped him? Zeus the most important god in the Greek Pantheon? Zeus the king of the Olympians and the father of the gods?
I know many of the male gods assaulted women in the myths… But please I'll say it again… Don't took the myths as literal! Neither the ancient greeks do it that because they worshiped those male gods… They took the myths as metaphores, lessons and stories…
But i advice you if you're not sure: talk with a greek person! Ask the greeks theirself because they know much better of their own culture and history!
Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hera, Demeter, Athena, Ares, Apollo, Artemis, Dionysus, and a can continue with all of them…. I will defend all of them because i love them and i know the context and history behind the myth! I know the myths were written by persons (HUMAN PERSONS) whose "humanized" the gods to be more close with them, so that is why in the myths the gods aren't perfect! I know there's people who worship them (i'm not hellenic polytheist yet, but i would like to worship Artemis one day of these) and i respect the deities! I know the symbolism and metaphores of the myths and stories!
Zeus is NOT a dick! Hera is NOT a bitch! Aphrodite is NOT a whore! Apollo is NOT a asshole! Ares is NOT a idiot! Dionysus is NOT dumb drunk! Artemis is NOT a cruel and bad friend! Poseidon is NOT a piece of shit! Demeter is NOT a bad helicopter mother! Hades is NOT the villain… But neither was Zeus, Demeter, Apollo or Aphrodite! No!

i'm saying it. i don't think joly would work in a hospital. i think his medical career would be informed by his politics + radicalisation and his + his friends regular drug use, he would be outraged at how the medical industry handles drug users, also at the medical industrial complex in general, so he would find a reputable community led harm reduction organisation to work for 🫶🏻

i redrew that one shot from saltburn with my ocs winghead and adam.
adam is loud and imposing and wants to go to art school and winghead is more like the quiet and polite jock. adam sort of clings onto winghead bc he’s the only other “cursed” at their hs (hence the wings and antennae on their heads) and winghead is annoyed but complacent to his company.

truly the modern au that preserves most directly the Impact of orufrey is:
Olruggio and Qifrey are married, and Oru mostly gets referred to by Qifrey as ‘my husband’ while Qifrey is at work. Qifrey is an untenured physics professor at some out of the way college.
Qifrey does tend to be the sort of professor who’s fun, but wants to pretend that his personal life doesn’t exist while at work. All his students know is that ‘my husband’ does his IT. Slowly by things Qifrey mentions his students learn that ‘my husband’ is also a night owl, also has a physics degree, and likes to cook.
And then Qifrey attends a department social with the man who Won the Nobel prize three years ago for revolutionizing the combustion engine. Olruggio spends the whole night referring to himself as ‘Qifrey’s trophy husband’. He has been on at least one variety show (he hated it).
Qifrey, three glasses of wine in, mentions they got engaged after he was almost thrown out of his phd program on charges of academic dishonesty, but his advisor, Beldaruit (credited with 1/3 of fixing the standard model to incorporate massive neutrinos) came through. The charges were false, and the investigation toppled a fraternity.
Coco, a freshman, studying physics bc she’s obsessed with being an astronaut, doesn’t know who any of these people are because she doesn’t follow engineering news and doesn’t know enough physics to care about massive neutrinos.

We are as strong as our spiritual foundations. To transcend the decadence of the modern world, we must ascend toward those eternal values that, though rejected, have endured age after age.

"The woman to whom a knight swears unconditional faithfulness and to whom even a crusader consecrates himself; the woman who leads to purification, whom the knight considers his reward and who will make him immortal if he ever dies for her-that woman, as it has been documented in the case of the "Worshipers of Love" or "Love's Lieges," is essentially a representation of "Holy Wisdom," or a perceived embodiment, in different degrees, of the "transcendent. divine woman" who represents the power of a transfiguring spirituality and of a life unaffected by death."

Beds are Optional (MIC Chat, Post-Eragon, Pre-Eldest)
Murtagh: *bedraggled, opens the door to the elven embassy where Eragon and Co. are staying after spending the day helping shore up buildings and other things that were damaged in the attack* Murtagh: *stops a few steps into the entry hallway, pauses, decides it's not his problem and continues into the living area* Eragon: Hey, how'd it go? Saphria and I just got back as well. Brom: *general grunt of acknowledgement* Murtagh: You two came in through the warehouse, yeah? Eragon: Well...yeah. It's the only place Saphira can fit in through. Murtagh: Arya come in through the front? Eragon: ...Yes? Murtagh: Figures. Murtagh: Your elf's faceplanted asleep in the hallway again. Eragon: .... Brom: *grumbled swearing, leans over to look down the hall and folds newspaper into a baton before chucking it at the very much zonked out Arya on the floor* Beds! They exist for a reason!

The blood of the heroes is closer to God than the ink of the philosophers and the prayers of the faithful.
