👕Character whose fashion you like.

Phoar! Startrek really isn't a show I associate with being fashionable. It's very camp isn't it? In theory a lot of the wardrobe is really cool and they wanted to gain that retro-future aesthetic. Did it work? I'm not sure. However it does make a statement. The Startrek aesthetic is really recognizable and that's important! I think that's where modern trek kind of looses the plot. It's not as careful about the unique visual design as a whole anymore and as a result it doesn't settle in our minds. Is it bad artistry? No but it's not as stringent. What I mean by that is older trek cared about nuance. For example every haircut was done the same way on men, or suits were tailored in a way to look sleek but practical (they weren't). Gaudy patterns were important to denote things like status. It looks ugly on the outside but when you're watching the show it envelops you and makes you feel welcomed into the universe.

I digress.

To answer this, the most fashionable character, hands down, is Quark! That mfer always looks good, and has the finest drip in the galaxy. Love that.

🥲 ST moment that makes you cry.

There are two moments that make me particularly sad. Kate's acting in the climax of Resistance is incredible. I read somewhere she had a special-wink-wink- relationship with the Director in the early seasons and she was being tested by this episode in some regard. I think it paid off. I treasure any time her captain-hood is removed, and the extreme vulnerability of Janeway is on display-MWAH MWAH poignant. This episode is beautifully intimate, particularly this scene. It's overall gorgeous and unique in how she whispers to him, as if there is nothing more important than to secure his peace of mind as he dies, and it's heart rending when it ends with her just crouching there, emotionally alone. I love how Janeway is forced into the father-daughter dynamic between her and Caylem, one that she would ordinarily resist (heh themes) because I think it inherently weakens her status. The back and forth throughout the episode of them taking care of each other's welfare is so it's terribly sad when it's torn down and we discover the truth behind Caylem's family. If you've dug around her character you know that her Admiral-Father has had impact on her life. She's haunted by him in both a figurative way by being a Captain, and literal sense later on in Coda. Much like Caylem, she looses her father in a violent manner that she has to carry around while she forges ahead. It also reflects well on Kate's relationship with her actual father, she recently revealed that she was never able to get him on her page, but in spite that she adore him with all her might. So a scene like this is really revealing-I believe she was able to draw upon those feelings and that's kinda neat to be so raw as an actor. SIGH.

This one just straight up made me cry fr because Prodigy s1 is a really mature, well done piece of (Startrek) media. Holo Janeway has an irony about it where in the end she is program designed to be a teacher, and she didn't expect to develop a strong bond with the crew. Her final moments are of displaying a huge amount of selflessness and courage to help the kids get out of trouble, similarly to how Janeway would approach dire circumstances. The music swelling and the ship activating is just OOOOF!!! I love how it parallels Dal's initiation of the first Protojump in a Moral Star. By that means It suggests how proud she is to get to do this for them. As a character she is really interesting to think about, in a way I can't entirely articulate. A lot of her moments are quite sad in general, she has to keep an active role so she isn't ignored, and help where help is needed, but at the same time she has constraints, one being that she manipulated by the antagonists. And In contrast to that, the kids do their best to help her feel like she is important and more than a command program to be used insincerely. She grew to love the Protostar crew, that's evident in her body language in this scene. She has a lot of depth overall. Equal to the real Janeway she deeply feels love, guilt and pain, but importantly she is transformed by the her time on the Protostar and while active, learns and grows with Dal, Rok-tak, Zero, Jankom and Gwyn. It's REALLY sweet that they care all care about each other.

I love her and I love JANEWAY!!!!

🥹 Favourite behind the scenes picture.

Ooooh I love all behind the scenes stuff. My brother in Christ It's super difficult to just name one thing and I'm very greedy!! I wish we had more BTS content for Voyager but sadly, it's a matter of grab what you can, however you can. Anyway, I have an inherent interest in seeing the cogs behind the wheel. I chose these samples because I think they're charming.

The continuity polaroid's are so fun and a lost technique, I like to think about assistants having to pull the actors aside and asking them to take those. How daunting! Kate's grin in the one where she is offset is SO cute. So she must have been in a good mood, super Cheeky!

Following that is a screenshot from a video of her having her makeup done. A rare catch. I like this because she often sooks about how much time hair and makeup was spent on her to become Captain Janeway. I get it's a huge time-sink, but love or hate it, the full irony is that her early season appearance is really iconic and in it's own right adds to Captain Janeway's sensibility. Silly goose Kate! Besides that, she looks hot checking herself out, haha.

Moreover, I love on-set editorial photos of actors in costume. While we did have heaps of them in the Starfleet uniform, I wish we had a larger collection with clearer releases, it would have given an opportunity to see in things of interest better detail. Particularly the lower half of unique costumes. For whatever reason special outfits weren't often established or framed for us to see the legs in the show, so a nice big photograph would have solved that. Also I love that these style of pictures capture an impression of an episode without giving it away.

Similarly, fly on the wall on-set photos are cool. They're way more intimate and candid than anything else and it makes me feel as though I am spying on the actors, but they're also a good way to document how things might have been on set.

The Timeless one is interesting too because it's of a deleted scene, we never see Chakotay look at a dead Janeway (how deliciously macabre!), but at some point in time it was in the script and they filmed it.

Hmm this bts picture of Janeway in the Cardigan is adorable! I believe it was worn by Kate for a Charity but look how cute she looks? Makes me wish we saw her mess around with things like that more because 7 Years is a long ass time to be in uniform everyday ( coming from someone who went to school in a Uniform and enjoyed it for the most part). Casual Fridays anyone?

I love this gif. It's from the first shoots of Caretaker and Kate looks so radiant! Her smile is is breathtaking! Whenever I see this gif I get a sense of delight. Poor thing had no idea what she was getting herself into, haha. Really though, check out the original Caretaker photos, they're super-cool. The history behind it is fascinating; I'd love to see more footage from that version of the pilot episode. Unfortunately, it's probably not preserved well, much like lots of Paramount's historical material.

On a similar trend, it's fun to see this set of pictures too. It's for the First Contact film / maybe the Universal studios ride, when she reprised her role as Vice AdmiralJaneway. Kate was genuinely delighted to do this cameo and it shows. As per her operandum she put her whole self into this small segment and that's so darling. It makes me wish we had more of this Janeway at that point in time. I love post Endgame chubby-Janeway. In a fictional sense it denotes that she is comfortable or stressed to be an Admiral (sadly it's the latter in real life) or whatever and I love that for her.

These kind of pictures are fun because it's been said that at times it was the most playful set to be on. There are tales that the cast were not that serious all the time. You get that impression here, and it's probably why the majority of them are still good friends to this day. They're like a family bros!!! Having worked in media I know that wrapping up after working on something for a long time is really rewarding and I bet they had a good time at parties.

Apropos previous, the opposite can be said. While they had fun, the hours were long and the scripts intensive. Kate was around for all of the episodes of Voyager in one way or another, and still managed to bring her A-game each time. She is truly admirable! Seeing her so exhausted is charming. She had a lot of weight to carry for the franchise and did an exemplary job performing her way through 7 years of weird and wonderful material. I wonder how often they fell asleep on set? I know I would. Get some rest queen!

Finally, I've been following Prodigy bts as best I can, and because of my career in animation I get pretty interested in Production art. I love seeing the fast metamorphosis of a visual style. It's really impressive how much attention they applied to the designs, maintaining the older stuff, while adapting a new frontier. One of the lead artists made some pretty neat observations to get Kate's appearance right. It's so cool that they documented that journey, because from my dabbling I know she has a very beautiful, distinct face that isn't easy to capture.

ANYWAY Thankyou for reading my fat thesis fellas. tl;dr i love this stinky Startrek Voyager and by extension the franchise.

Aw, thanks!!! I hope you have a good day too :^) It's never a bother to chatter about my many AUs, hehehehe

Professor Banner is a bit of a weird case in College AU (i guess to be fair he's a weird case in canon too lol); he WAS Jaden's academic advisor for his freshman and sophomore year, and they had a sort of odd friendship; Jaden even got to catsit Pharaoh a couple times (based off my true life experience of my old roommate who once dogsat our art history professor's shelties.) But then like midway into Jaden's junior year Banner fucking DIED unexpectedly, and now the effects of his presence still linger around Jaden like a ghost. Her and ended up leaving Jay a bunch of academic books on alchemy and art that are still sitting somewhere in his bedroom (Yubel likes thumbing through them.) He also got the cat :) (Though Jaden's been a bit dodgy about whether or not he was Ieft Pharaoh in some sort of will along with the books, of if he just stole Pharaoh so he wouldn't get surrendered to the pound. Either way!)

Lyman Banner is like.... for me he's one of those yugioh characters that for whatever reason doesn't quite scratch my brain the way most others do, but I DO think he's got some fun stuff going on with him. Amnael is cool, I like his design elements more in that state, and in general Banner's just such an Absolute Fucking Bonkers Character i have to respect it. Like you get hit the Yugioh Homunculus lore and then you just keep getting kicked in the head with more insane details about him. He talks like a catboy. He really straight up died and his cat ate his ghost and now he haunts a teenager and that's just part of Jaden's life now I guess??!??!?! I wish he didnt Sound Like That in the dub. "Lyman" is one of the most yugioh dub name choices of all time. He needs to lose his teaching license real real bad.

I've never actually drawn him before! So this was a nice chance to take a crack at him since now I'm thinkin about him :^) He has what I like to call "Dartz bangs" which is one of my favorite ygo character design traits, so that's a treat to draw <3

Alright, I ain't no coward, I can do that :P

I like Trevor's character arc in S1. It's short and self-contained, but organic, and with good symbolism of him ditching his thorn cape and revealing the Belmont crest once he shows his great leader skills. He's stereotypical, but sympathetic and compelling, with some of the best lines in the show: "And it's not the dying that frightens us. It's never having stood up and fought for you. I am Trevor Belmont, of the House of Belmont, and dying has never frightened me."

I honestly believe N!Hector in S2 is an interesting take on Hector pre-betrayal, and not as stupid as everyone paints him, both in-universe and in the fandom. Most of his traits reflect how he was written in the mangas, I like his villainy without malice, and furthermore I am genuinely fascinated by his cavalier relationship with death, showcased by how he blithely resurrects dead animals to force them to be his pets. He and N!Trevor are the only characters I actually cared about.

Okay I also like the captain that lols and lmaos at N!Isaac's childish misanthropy and imparts words of wisdom. He's cool without trying too hard.

I like the designs of most of the vampires, especially Raman and most of the Styria Council (big buff Striga is just my type :P). I also like Lenore's "sad winter princess" theme, even though it wasn't a relevant part of her character - I can see how Katie Silva took inspiration from Kojima's way of drawing cute women.

Dracula in the first episode delivered what I consider the summation of his whole character: "Kill everything you see. Kill them all. And once Targoviste has been made into a graveyard for my love, go forth into the country. Go now. Go to all the cities of Wallachia: Arges! Severin! Gresit! Chilia! Enisara! Go now and kill. Kill for my love! Kill for the only true love I ever knew. Kill for the endless lifetime of hate before me." bro this is Dracula to a T, I love it! They understood the assignment! ... I think I should stop here.

Speaking of which, Graham McTavish didn't need to go so hard, yet he did. Bro carried the whole thing. I am positive he's 90% the reason his fans go all "he did nothing wrong", because he just impregnates his voice with poignant emotion at every word.

In a vacuum, Dracula's death is brilliant. Not only because once again, McTavish ate, but something about the cruel monster getting brought down by his very human love for his son, reminiscing of his old life as a father, and suddenly wondering when it all went wrong... yeah. This scene is fondly remembered for understandable reasons.

In a vacuum, Lenore's death is brilliant. I see the subtext of her realizing she's nothing more than a disgusting creature bound to become insane, and she'd rather accept death than live an unnatural, pointless existence - plus, the immortal vampire chooses death while the mortal human who received nothing but pain and misery in his life chooses to live. And man, the concept of a vampire refusing to see the sun in their last moments, because they'd rather look at the only person they care in the world! It's great actually! And I'll stop here :P

Bloody Tears sounds cool. It was the wrong choice for what was supposed to be the climax of Dracula's Curse, but it still works.

Hello✨✨ man I e been wanting to a mashup since forever so TYSM for this opportunity I genuinely greatly appreciate it✨

Ok so let’s see, I am 5’3 early 20s mex girlie (no real care for pronouns I’ll go by all and any) and non labeled sexuality (I’ll fall for anyone for any reason) possibly adhd or autistic but undiagnosed so no medical proof on that, I am a Scorpio, infp and year of the goat (idk I’ve seen those included in stuff) I love anything art related (arts n craft)? I draw a lot, and in turn also adore seeing peoples art journey, style and character designing. I also adore cooking and baking, but I am a beginner, learnings is so much fun anyways. I’ve been told that I can be energetic, kinda clingy, really forgetful and sweet. Which fair, my head is a constant mess that rarely runs on organized thoughts, most of it is impulsive,how fun. I get distracted easily, my attention span is pretty much nonexistent, and I forget a concerning amount of things throughout the day. I struggle to keep my areas clean but I’m getting better. My love/affection language would be physical touch, words of affirmation and gift giving, not even expensive things, for the most part it’s been homemade meals for my sisters, and small trinkets I find for my friends. I’m also a hopeless romantic, and I love all things horror :3 I also have little to no self preservation, and dares are always a go (I once ate a dandelion cuz me n my sisters thought it would be funny, and it was) oh yeah, I’m also an ambivert who loves to go outside, socializing is a nightmare but people are interesting and I wanna be more social, I’m just stupidly shy. I also have a lot of habits that others seem to like? My sisters have commented I’m very expressive via eyes, and on more than one occasion have caused them to fall laughing. A lot of my relatives have said I’m very loving and have way to much to give because I’m always hugging people I like and clinging to them (ex my favorite Tia), and friends have told me I need to stop being attached or wanting the attention of those who aren’t… All that good to me, I have a difficult time accepting things, change is hard and I can be irrational about things pertaining to my well being. And my last habit would be, that I’ve been called weak willed and dense as fuck, weak willed because it doesn’t take much to sway me, or get me to do something. And dense cuz social cues are difficult, like how am I supposed to know this person genuinely finds me enjoyable to be around, I call bs

orange: bloodlusttale sans funny but slightly stressed out guy, relies on his brother for emotional support doesn't want to take too much space

yellow: circ (watchertale) parasite who possesses sanses because they're strong but absolutely hates them his group's job is to watch over the multiverse after Ink retired

green: underfantasy sans part demon, hides his horns and wings to not draw attention to himself very curious about all types of magic

cyan: underrain sans made of water like all monsters in his au has pretty strong magic but loose control over it

blue: undertale sans you know him the lazy funny guy

purple: nightmare sans (my take on dreamtale) (i know the design doesn't look that different) (it's more about him being closer to og sans in terms of personality) his brother tried to kill him after he ate the apple, is constantly fleeing from him hides in but doesn't interact with other timelines

pink: ghost nightmare (ghost apple au) his brother tried and succeeded in killing him haunts his brother because he's the only one who can see him

red: starvingtale sans (you might've seen him with a blue jacket) (tbh i just needed red for the challenge) (now idk which one i'm going to keep) his teeth and claws are metal, he considered removing them but they're useful for defending himself tries his best to cheer up his bro and distract him from the famine

when he’s not up all night playing video games agoti can sleep through anything and everything

astronomy spinterest! knows a bunch of random space trivia and has a telescope and a dozen space encyclopaedias in their room :3

if you piss agoti off, he’s gonna get revenge in the pettiest ways possible, for example:

“agoti did you eat my fucking cereal”

“i don’t know what you're talking about :)”

people have often asked the question “could you beat agoti in a fight?” and the answer is 100% NO. not only can this mf use his swords to his advantage but this bro does taekwondo too and you cannot tell me otherwise

bro is incredibly picky with the food that he eats, but will absolutely go ham for sour candy (bonus if it’s peach or cherry flavoured)

EXTREMELY SENSITIVE TO LOUD NOISES. especially fireworks, they will have a meltdown over the constant loud explosion sounds even if the colours are really pretty (that’s totally not me projecting no not at all)

CAT LOVER ‼️‼️ since sol brings a lot of stray cats to the andromeda household, quite a few are under agoti’s care and he names them goofy names and treats them as if they’re his children

has no idea how to express his emotions at all and often times he cries for no particular reason (or so they say, agoti has a bunch of repressed memories and trauma that he doesn’t acknowledge at all)

was and still is a scene kid, and often times enjoys going out dressed head to toe in sparkly accessories and all sorts of elaborate and colourful outfits

despite being evil as hell sometimes, agoti is genuinely very empathetic and can often understand other’s emotions better than people think

HE’S A MAMA’S BOY!! ever since sol introduced amora to the boys, they’ve been inseparable,, amora and agoti spend a bunch of time together and talk to each other about everything, including all of the things agoti sees and does on a day to day basis

he and tabi are lifelong friends :3 they met in early childhood and ever since then they were joined at the hip

Watched The Last Voyage of the Demeter last night and I... Just can't understand how even Stephen King and Del Torro are fans? I'm happy so many people enjoyed it but I found it baffling in its disregard for the plot, the characters and any and all lore, and just good cinema? It's such a pity because I was so hyped. And even more of a pity because the movie is SO beautiful in regards to set, filmography and score. Gah!

Spoilers below

The rules set up in the book? Toss them: not a single rule aside from Dracula only coming out at night (which is not even a fixed rule in the book) is followed. Dracula isn't bothered by crucifixes and does not use his morphing power to become other creatures. Which means the iconic final scenes of the captain being bound to the ship an dog-ula jumping off the ship did not happen.

creature design: by the time dracula leaves his castle he's looking like a nice old man with an eccentric mustache and can speak perfect English. He planned his departure for decades at least. This Dracula looks like a half-decayed corpse monster, which I could have understood as a creative decision (i.e. dracula not bothering to look nice since he'll kill them all anyways) but dracula is also weakened and seems to be barely able to understand English. I'm supposed to think this creature managed to plot to have his coffin brought to the ship and multiple residences having been set up in the UK for him when he's this weak and monsterly? And the design after looking at it for a while doesn't look monsterly, just very ugly and dumb. And the burning scenes for the sired crew looked bad. very bad. The gruesomeness was cool though.

Book-dracula is dumb, he's dumber: so book dracula is dumb because he ate his way through the crew before arriving safely, right? and his hubris gets him killed in the end as well. But this thing? Even more dumb. Book dracula planned his trip for decades at least. He's got tons of wooden crates with dirt because he knows he might need to be able to hide in them when another coffin is found out. But it also has the added benefit of making it harder to find him, because there's many identical boxes, and if the crew were to start searching, the odds of finding him before he managed to escape were lower. This dumbo has x amount of random crates, and then one MEGACRATE with his crest which is so obvious it's stupid. Also: what's his game? Hiding or not hiding? He hides his first body but not the blood on the ship? But then some other killings he's not even ashamed of being seen? Why?

bad movie making: why add additional people? Is there a point to Clemens' backstory? He didn't use his doctor skills a lot and his backstory has no pay off in the end. Anna is just an infodump. The boy is a great actor and lovely, but he was just inserted to draw on our heartstrings. On top of that the movie doesn't set up its reveals properly. Sure, dracula sired/half transformed some of the crew and Anna, but with the first man he is first just a transforming mess, then becomes possessed at night when dracula practices control over him, and at dawn he's suddenly sensible somewhat? He's immediately dying to sunlight. Then Toby. No transformation, just straight up dead? And then turns monsterly during the day??? That's another way of it happening, no logical repeat. Then Anna is suddenly revealed to have been slowly dying? But it wasn't set up by any kind of sun-sensitivity or her temporarily losing control over her actions? A shame.

Dumb actions; they hammer the ship shut so dracula "only has one way out". But dude? he's literally gotten into every room of the ship without explanation or broke his way through. Why wouldn't he be able to now? Are the characters amnesiacs?

This was so frustrating because I LOVE the books, and I love almost all dracula movies, and there's a lot of bad ones and B-movies and even C-movies. Bad special effects, gore and unfaithful adaptations don't phase me. But I need the characters to be consistent and not dumb, for there to be some rules about vampires, for the movie to be consistent and for the plot to make sense, for characterization to be a chekhov's gun instead of random trivia.

SxF interview & panel discussion at TICA

I was reading articles about Kyōji Asano (animation director) and Tetsuya Nakatake (producer) attending the Taipei International Comic and Anime International, so I’ve decided to share some of the interesting things I’ve read here.

In the YouTube live video,

11:10 Nakatake gestured how tiny Anya would be in real life. Asano then gave a quick demonstration on “how to pick up baby Anya and carry her on your shoulder”. I thought that was really cute. As if they all know Anya so well they are ready to babysit her at any second.

12:47 Asano drew a bunch of Anya’s faces. From 12:55 onwards he just started pointing at the faces he drew, and said he enjoyed drawing them very much.

15:54 Nakatake jokingly said they (I’m guessing he meant Nakatake himself, Asano and other staff members who also have children) could particularly relate to tired™ Twilight. They have children and understand how exhausting being a parent could be.

There are also displays of pictures of character designs and frames sketches. You can see they are particularly proud of the original designs and scenes they’ve created for the show.

No recording is allowed during the panel discussion. I’ve read several articles (Source 1, 2, 3) and a post by an attendee, and what they’ve shared are more or less the same:

1. They spent a month creating the second ED. They’d actually cooked all the food and presented them on a table so they could draw it. (Source three actually provides many interesting photographs of the food and the sketches hey’ve drawn while producing ED2.) It's such hard work, so much so for a 10-second scene the team had created 100-130 frames, and a member of the team even said he’s gonna quit, but they’d all persisted. Asano said their goal was to make the audience hungry while watching ED2, and was particularly happy to hear from the attendees that they have succeeded.

2. They had also drawn the food Yor made before pixelating it. And no, the team won’t show us what they originally look like. The team likes the scene where Yuri ate and threw up at the same time so much the animator put in extra effort to draw it. (Nakatake: Don’t you like sick characters like Yuri?)

3. The work atmosphere while creating AoT was more stern. On the other hand, it feels more lively when producing SxF. The work atmosphere is usually affected by the content they are creating. The animators have their own ideas they want to express as well, and it is a lucky coincidence when they get to animate a popular work they happen to be interested in, and the audience likes the product as well. They feel the bliss while creating the anime, and hope to create something the whole family can enjoy.

4. They create the OPs and EDs as something to add to the world-building. OPs and EDs also offer an opportunity for the team to show the audience their own interpretation of/ reflections on the story. They went on to explain how OPs and EDs are usually done. Most of the time they would have the song first. The musician would read the manga and write the song. The production team would then design the scenes that would match the song. The director confirms what scenes would be needed, and the animation team proceeds to create the OP/ED.

5. It is of utmost importance to make Anya cute. Asano suggested to draw her hair first, then the shape of her face. Draw her facial features last.

6. When asked of their favourite scenes, Nakatake said the interview scene where Loid punched the table was what inspired him to push the sxf animation project forward. Asano liked ep 5. He thought it made the story livelier.

7. Nakatake likes Yor the best. He says he wants to meet her in real life, and claims he doesn’t mind eating her food. (He also likes the scene where Bond ate the cookies Yor made and fainted.) Asano wants a daughter like Becky. If he had to choose between Anya and Becky, he would still choose Becky.

PS I've also shared an identical article here. I did the translation myself. I didn't translate everything. For example, Asano also mentioned AoT as another example of how they do original scenes. Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading this.

The Magi discord I'm active in had another challenge that I got a bit to excited over. It was to have a character using a metal vessel for the first time so I decided to design a bunch of Full Body Djinn Equips. None of these ideas are finalized. Also, I didn't draw Mori with glasses here because lazy & I'm more likely to give Mori a Djinn in an Adventures AU where I'd also fix their need for glasses with magic. The designs have more thought behind them as they go on

1. The imp is the same species Zepar is

2. Is the same species as Furfur and few other Djinn shown with hooked horns and winged tails

3. Is based off of Djinn like Amon and Paimon which are just a human stereotype. The clothes are based off of some different Indian god depictions and other things that I think were probably used in a lot of the canon Djinn Equip designs

4. Is a crystal Djinn like Leraje. The crystal I chose is a type of quartz I think. I have a some small ones I got at a science museum when I was little. The placement of things etc. is heavily inspired by Kos-Mos from Xenosaga

5. Is a Bird Djinn like Focalor (raven), Zagan (Peacock) and Phoenix (unclear). I use the quetzal as the bird.

6. Aries is my zodiac sign and I was born the year of the Ram so I often draw myself with both goat and ram horns (I've seen this cross breed called a geep)

7. Son Goku. Once I found out about The Journey to the West and that it is the source of a lot of my favorite tropes in anime, you know I ate it up. Son Goku is easily my favorite character and so I figured it would be fun to reference him like how a bunch of different Djinn reference different figures from Japanese legends. (I know this is a Chinese story, I just meant that I wanted to reference a legendary figure in general, and Son Goku shows up a lot in anime so I thought it wouldn't feel out of place)

8. I carried the previous idea of taking from ledgens and chose one actually from Japan: The bunny in the moon making mochi. I draw myself with bunny ears a lot, and my friends call me a bunny sometimes because of how much I like lettuce XD I was worried giving it a mallet would be too on the nose for the legend, but then after finishing it, I realized I could have given it the Little Mallet/Big Mallet, so I know what I'm doing if I ever redesign this one.

All of the Djinn power sets I've been thinking of use Strength, Sound, Wind, and/or Water magic. I really like physics manipulation, and cancelation abilities, so I have to be careful that I don't design something that suits a Dark Metal Vessel instead. 😅

ahem. Sorry. I meant. I think i did a good service to iris’s team. or, i guess, Novekhrys’s team, but WE KNOW WHO’S PULLING THE WEIGHT AROUND HERE !!!!!

okay. There’s actually a bit i want to say about cementing these designs.

Gráinne was an easy design to nail. i’ve wanted her to be loosely sparkledog scene adjacent from the get. and that’s what i did. i dunno if i’m satisfied with her color scheme but she canonically dyes her hair something completely different every so often like ramona flowers so it’s cool to just. Have this for now. i’ve been dying to use that pinterest hairstyle i saw a few weeks back and i finally got a nice opportunity to use it. also i gave her a name. she’s gráinne now. because i used to want to call her diarmuid. any fenian cycle fans in the chat

IRIS!!!! she’s the same as last time i drew her properly BUT like Oh My GOD she looks pretty here i was blown away by my own ability. iris is like. one of my first relicverse oc’s to be made in mind with the fact that the Relicverse Is A Thing so she’s always sort of been a benchmark character for me even moreso than demi or any of the sinai have been. i’m glad to have fully assembled a picture of her leg of ninestrike today seeing as i’ve been teetering back and forth on who exactly should lead it, and who’s fitting for her to serve under. novekhrys should have been the obvious choice from the start and i have no idea how i never saw it

like, are you seeing this???

and MY GOD. this is one of those times SETTING 1000 LOOSE THREADS pays the FUCK off because i needed one more admin and OBVIOUSLY it ONLY MAKES SENSE for it to be Kumbhakarna, seeing as Ravana has long been serving under Novekhrys (shoutouts to ravana i dont draw him enough but hes genuinely one of my favorites to write) and the two of them have always gone through cyclical incarnation hell together. i can’t break up the band. AND. Because of course, Ravana’s contract with Novekhrys making him into the Nameless Asura… That means Kumbhakarna must also have entered a similar deal. but i can’t call them both the nameless asura! sure, i can call him the nameless rakshasa instead BUT !!! BUT !!! I HAVE BEEN IN NEED OF CHARACTERS WHO HAVE INHERITED THE ROMAN GOD TITLES POST-DEVILS MANNER !!! and so, of course, he is MORS!!!!! why is that? of course, because of kumbhakarna’s curse… and because of the Somnus Title… what does that mean for Somnus…? Only time shall tell !!!!! Kuahahahahaha !!!!!!

lastly. of course. novekhrys ainzbury. demiurge’s son-in-law. husband of astaphe and father of lucille. I’M EVER SO GLAD TO BE ABLE TO START LOOPING HIM BACK INTO RELEVANT LORE!!!!!!!!!

I FUCKING LOVE THIS MAN!!!!! I’VE EVEN REINSTATED HIS STATUS AS A DRAGON!!!!!! FUCK IT!!!!!!! GIVE HIM THE WORLD!!!!!!!!

previously, in novekhrys’s lore, he existed at a time where magic was a very contentious existence for me in relicverse lore. and if i’m really coming down to it, he was technically the first proper magic user. it completely slipped my mind until literally like a few weeks ago that i realized he’s a tower master within the mage society. i often find myself forgetting astaphe exists, much like everyone seems to forget about the much less powerful children of the demiurge. But voila. my problem was solved. who better for iris to work under?and obviously, who better to be the much needed FREAK of the unraveling division than the FREAK tower master of the beast tower, the very man who fucked demiurge’s only daughter and had a child with her.

letting the pieces slide together was the most satisfying shit in the world. This is why i write. I live for these moments where all my loose threads come together. Good lord. Good fucking lord. And good god man does him being the beast tower master ever serve as such a great rational support to ravana’s existence. I KNOW my ass was not thinking about that at all back then. But like. Fuck yeah dude.

i tried to base his design off of demonic sect leaders in those cultivation novels combined with his draconic origins and it all worked together nicely. he looks better than ever! or maybehe just has long hair. I love long haired men. And horns. He’s lost a little of his signature “pathetic disheveled shell of a man” but i’ll be sure to draw plenty of that when he ISNT posted up for a beauty shot with his admins.

ALSO. holy HELL has his relationship with hana slotted in PERFECTLY. she’s always received funding from an unnamed tower master, and of fucking COURSE having it be novekhyrs the disciple hunter would only make sense. she’s a rare deviant species. his FAVORITE. and it’s never really made too much sense why hana would ever take any particular interest in expanding her leg of ninestrike and joining the union BUT IT ONLY MAKES SENSE IF IT WAS NOVEKHRYS WHO DRAGGED HER INTO IT. bringing in the Small Rewrite that the beast tower was built upon the remains of Hermes’s NinthSpire, and with enough bullshit backstory on the fly lore drawing inspiration between the old lore links between him and Father and BOOM!!!! he’s got his own ninestrike invitation with absolutely zero conflicting changes to established lore!!!! Oh my god and this is why hana takes the name of ninestrike as her own after novekhrys tells her about the history of the science tower

AND i get to write him again. It’s like christmas morning for me. This is nonsense to you all but this is PURE genius at work. This is why you leave everything 85% done because the remaining 15% will come to save your ass in the future. God Bless the Mage Society !!! Long live the Phenomena White Tower !!!

akuam tilt his head to the side mocking clearlying enjoying the rage he gets from sekido

“Oh how i pity you at times!, i cant managed how it is like to have a temper like a human child”

Akuam dramatically place his hand on his chest and faking a look of empathy towards sekido

Akumas turns his attention at karaku bows before returning to a normal stance

Design/Appearance : Heavily base off of a siren and wearing large clothing as patches of skin has fish scale and usually when he out and about he cover his head with a black head covering and a black and white mask to prevent humans seeing his siren features and he always wear his the standard Demon Slayer uniforms consisting of a gakuran jacket and hakama pants and pretends to be a medic or helper when out in the night looking for weak demon slayers

Draining Tears

This blood demon art stuns swordsmen with ear-piercing sobs the sob itself sounds despairing and very much desperate, while that happen a temporary increase in healing speed occurs as the opponent gets stunned akuma tears and pleads are short lived as he tries to end the opponent's life the second they stop moving

Draining Tears weakness

The blood demon art is self pretty much affects swordsmen who are weaker and ones that second think of beheading akuma but it has hard time effecting harder opponents only at most surprise them at best and the small amount of time akuma healing is speed up he will lose some energy

Mimicking Waves

This blood demon art allows akuma to mimic voices of people he ate (ex man,woman,child) and is usually used to lure unsuspecting weak swordsmen or folks who happen to hear the voices of the distress kid,man or woman nearby

The weakness of mimicking waves is the unpredictable chance of attracting strong swordsmen towards the voices he mimics and making akuma easy to locate in busy areas as if akuma panics when mimicking you can hear the voice breaking and cracking out of character of a pre assumed man,woman or child

The blood demon art is a combination of offense and defense, it has ability to manifest a water puddle it allows travel underground hence allowing Akuma to escape or heal underground Additionally, the emergence of betta fishes from the puddle to defend and attack nearby threats

Water hideaways weakness

The Water hideaway's weakness is that The betta fishes themselves are easily defeated if put in enough effort Furthermore, the energy-draining nature of maintaining the water puddle limits its duration, making it suitable only for life-or-death scenarios.

Additionally, Akuma's need to surface at random intervals when the betta fishes are being defeated easily and akumas needed to take charge and level out the field making them vulnerable during these moments .

Aqua Blades

This blood demon art allows akuma to solidify summoud water making them into blades These blades can be controlled if akumas pays attention to the blades form

Aqua Blades weakness

The Aqua Blade's weakness is it needs to get close to the swordsmen which has many risks and depending on the opponent it will put them themselves in a vulnerable position. And it increases the likelihood of being counterattacked or overpowered by opponents who may have superior strength or weaponry.

Urogi looks at you in surprise at the compliment and the bow with a soft smile.

He looks over at Sekido for a moment, chuckling at akuma's mockery and comment on how Sekido confused Demons with Humans.

He chuckles as he takes a quick look at Karaku before turning back to you.

Sekido immediately bursts out in rage once again at Akuma's mocking comments, his grip tighten on his Khakkhara.

— "Shut your mouth, demon! Why are you acting so cocky and confident about your strength!? It's disrespectful! Do you not realize who you're standing in front of right now!? I am the manifestation of Hantengu's anger, I am far stronger than you and everyone else in this place, and I can kill you in a second!"

He says this with a very loud, booming voice, full of rage and aggression towards Akuma.

Urogi's expression is serious, now seemingly fed up with Sekido's constant out bursts of anger.

— "Sekido. Enough."

He says this in a stern tone, tightening his grip onto Sekido's Khakkhara.

— "You are acting like a spoiled child. You need to calm down. You are not the strongest demon in the world.. You need to learn some respect. We cannot be acting like this to one another."

He stares back at Sekido, stern expression on his face.

Karaku notices you mocking Sekido, with his face turning into a playful grin.

— “Ah, good one, Akuma! I love to see you tease Sekido like that! He gets so annoyed so easily and your comments only make it all the better~”

He says, speaking in a slightly more high-pitched voice for a moment before switching back, making it sound like he’s trying to mock Sekido’s voice as well.

— "How embarrassing.."

— "Do not mock me!"

He says this in a loud and angry voice, his eyes burning in rage.

— "I'll have you know I am the manifestation of Hantengu's anger and not his sadness!"

He says this, with his voice becoming more and more aggressive. The air surrounding him starts to become a bit colder, with his eyes starting to glow brighter.

— "You have my words! I don't want to hear another peep out of you, or…" [We love your oc. Very well done and cool description!!]

SEPTEMBER 20TH

I managed to finish another art piece today. I feel so happy now that it's finally done. But at the same time, I also feel like there's not much else for me to do at the moment... But then again, there are those new character designs I need to finish. I hope I can get back to those without any trouble.

During this time, I feel like I can do so much without anything to distract me. I also feel a little happier too.

In Pokémon Violet, I went to finish my assignment. But not without a few stops along the way.

It's funny how the tables have turned.

Of all the Pokémon in the world, Golem was the one I'd least expect to get salt from.

When it comes to treasure, this place is a gold mine! Also, I managed to unlock the ability to use this area as a new stage in Ogre Oustin'. I should play that game again someday for a higher score.

Eventually, I managed to meet up with Kieran. (Who STILL showed up last.)

After that, I headed back to the community center to get some rest. That doesn't mean I didn't run into anything interesting along the way.

I should fight this Annihilape someday with a Pokémon whose Attack needs some work.

What? AGAIN? More fun for me, I guess.

Before I healed my Pokémon at the Pokémon Center, I thought it'd be funny to talk to Nurse Joy from behind to see if I could still heal them. To my surprise, she had some dialogue for anyone trying to do so.

It managed to get a chuckle out of me.

SEPTEMBER 21TH

I had to go somewhere with my stepfamily to do something important. I thought I could just sit around and play Pokémon or draw while waiting. But that didn't happen. No matter where we went, the entire building smelled like cigarettes. I had to cover my nose the entire time we were there. We never even got our appointment because the staff were acting like idiots. So there goes an entire afternoon...

It wasn't all bad, though. My stepmom actually had the empathy to take us all to a town where we got to eat burgers while also getting treated to the town's fresh air. (Which is good because the car was ANOTHER rental that smelled like tobacco. Yes, it was unbearable. And, YES, I had to cover my nose whenever I had to sit in it. At least this one didn't have a lighter on the floor.)

The only good thing about today was that it's all over.

SEPTEMBER 22ND

In Pokémon Violet, I finally managed to find the item I needed to evolve Applin into Dipplin.

I feel bad for small shops like these. There are probably some dumb kids out there who might steal all the fruit from this stand without paying.

SEPTEMBER 23RD

Due to some recent developments at my school, I had to travel to the campus to sign up for additional tutoring services. (In the rain without an umbrella because I forgot mine at home.) I thought it would only take me half an hour. But I actually had to wait until noon. (I nearly got hungry by then.) It wasn't until then that I learned tutoring services were offered digitally on weekends. I still managed to get some information on tutoring hours for certain classes.

After I ate dinner, I managed to complete that new art piece I've had lying around for weeks. You can see it for yourself on this page. I based it on a frame from an episode of the Pokémon anime I found on another website. Now that I'm finished with it, I can get back to designing new characters before getting started on a future project.

In Pokémon Violet, I tried completing the Kitakami Pokédex.

I guess other non-water Pokémon can swim too. I tried catching this Poliwhirl using Umbre's Toxic. I nearly weakened it when I came to a shocking realization...

Wild Terastalized Pokémon only lose their Terastalization state after getting weakened by damaging moves. Status effects are useless for catching them.

But that was alright because I managed to find another Poliwhirl nearby. I also learned that there's 200 Pokémon in the Kitakami Pokédex. And I'm almost close to completing it. Before I met with Carmine, I visited Perrin since I already caught the amount of Pokémon she asked me to catch.

It's not that big a deal... Besides, I still need to study the stats of Pokémon like Ogerpon and Bloodmoon Ursaluna.

She soon challenged me to a battle to see if I was strong enough to stand a chance against the Pokémon she was looking for.

So did I...

Apparently, the Pokémon Perrin is looking for IS Bloodmoon Ursaluna.

She also comes from Sinnoh. (Which makes sense considering how familiar she looks.) I wanted to follow her to the Timeless Woods. But I felt like I could save Ursaluna for last.

After I met with Carmine in Moussi Town, she told me we needed some Crystal Clusters from the Crystal Pool. After a steady climb, I finally made it. Before we could gather some clusters, we were ambushed by a Milotic.

I managed to beat her in a single turn.

Eventually, Briar showed up to investigate the crystals at the bottom of the lake. She also says that Terastalization exists in other countries outside of Paldea.

(Exactly WHERE in those countries is beyond my guess.)

I was going to take the road back to town. But I fell down a cave and decided to explore it for its riches. While doing so, I hit a booby trap in the form of a Ogre Clan member.

If I had known about her Pokémon sooner, I would've beaten her with just Miraidon.

Benedict’s Journal (a bit of backstory...)

12-30-1929 My name is Benedict McCracken. I’m a new character designer at Joey Drew Studios. After their “Bendy the Dancing Devil” cartoons seemingly struck gold, they yearned for more. That’s where I came in. The studio, wanting some sort of “go-getter” female to appeal to the flapper crowd and rise of women’s rights asked me for help. I pitched a line of silent cartoons known to the world as… “The Adventures of Blot the Bunny”. Blot was a hit! She was cute, she was kind, and she had an adorable bow on her head. The kids of the decade didn’t know it yet, but this silent cartoon would be a staple of their childhood, and as a result, they would grow into adults with a deep nostalgia for the cartoons that had shaped them as children.

10-30-1937 The depression is happening. Not mental depression, no… they’re calling this period “The Great Depression”. Which means budget cuts. The last Blot cartoon they’ve made in years was “Blot the Bunny in Swinging Saturdays” back in 1931. Joey quote “put the character on hiatus”. As the Great Depression (or as I’d like to call it, the Big Sad) dragged on, Joey Drew Studios found itself in need of cash. Joey Drew had an idea... “let’s bring Blot back!” he told the execs at the studio. After all, Blot had been a hit in the last decade. Surely she could draw in a crowd again as the country struggled with economic strife, right? They made a few changes to appeal to the new age’s sensibilities. For one, Blot’s name got changed. There was no more “the”. They retooled her into “Blotbunny”, the plucky rabbit girl going on everyday misadventures involving a disgruntled carrot farmer. (As a side note, one of my colleagues apparently doesn’t know how to spell the word carrot.) They created a cast of characters to get along with her. “Melancholic Melody” the cat, “Cheekers Chippery” the squirrel, and “Dexter Doggy” whose species should be obvious to name a few. Audiences loved the Blotbunny revamp... in fact, the show experienced a surge in popularity that rivaled that of Bendy the Dancing Devil. Joey Drew Studios was back on top again, and this time it was like they were never gone.

7-19-1942 Joey Drew Studios, like any studio of this day and age is having a struggling existence in large part to the war. Which is why me and my team were sought out again. They already re-released their old Bendy cartoons to support war bonds, but it apparently wasn’t enough. Apparently wartime propaganda is seemingly lucrative. So we did what we were told. We made four of such cartoons. “Blotbunny and Dexter Doggy in Rivet Romance”, “Blotbunny in Fuehrer Follies”, “Blotbunny in Factory Funnies”, and “Blotbunny in Karmic Kamikaze”. The war proved that cartoons were no longer just a commodity for the kids; they could, in fact, be used for so much more than just entertainment. The new Blotbunny cartoons would help the war effort immensely. The factories were producing weapons, yes, but they were also producing propaganda. Now, if you wanted a cartoon made, there was only one place to turn to... Joey Drew Studios.

9-02-1945 Blotbunny was immensely successful during the war. To the point where some company named Ruegger-Plotz Studios made a knockoff. That was Blotrunny, the lop-eared ersatz only featured in one cartoon, “Bunny’s Buzz”. Peter White, an animator for Blotbunny cartoons suggested that we buy them out. Ruegger-Plotz Studios was not happy with this decision and immediately began legal proceedings. The two sides would be tied up in court cases for the next four years, the cost of which ate through their profits like a voracious worm eating away at an apple. In the end, however, Joey Drew Studios emerged victorious and gained a valuable new character. Blotrunny was rebooted into Blotbunny’s shy and awkward twin sister. They even gave her a bow as a call-back.

7-30-1948 Joey Drew Studios went bankrupt. And this is also the first time I noticed that weird machine… “the Ink Machine”. Out of curiosity, I decided to investigate and attempt to use it. I slipped a picture I inked of Blotbunny into the machine. The machine whirred to life, and Blotbunny appeared on the other side in 3D, as if she had been pulled from the pages of the comic itself. The Ink Machine, it seemed, was able to bring cartoons to life. Her design was slightly bastardized. I slipped more comics into the machine, and corrupted versions of Blotbunny’s friends came out the other side. I remembered what the machine was for… Bendyland. I slipped a final paper in, a few alternate versions of Bendy I doodled both as a middle finger to Hay’s Code and out of boredom. Bendie the Inkubus and Buddy the Lil’ Demon were their names. During that process, my hand got caught in the ink machine and pulled in half of my face. By the time I escaped its snare, my face and arm were... half toon, made of drippy and unstable ink. The machine had changed my form; I was both a cartoon and a real person at the same time, which, it has to be admitted, was a little unnerving. I looked at my hands, now half drippy ink. I could feel myself slipping into a state of panic; perhaps this “Ink Machine” wasn’t a good idea after all. I put my two weeks' notice in.

8-3-1948 The Blotbunny voice cast mysteriously haven’t been showing up to work. Frances Strong, Blotbunny’s voice actress, was an angelic singer, so I suppose she moved on… what about Richard Cox? And Helen Taylor? And Mary Zeldin? For some reason, Blotbunny’s entire cast of characters had just... disappeared. Their roles were left unfilled, and no one knew where they had gone without explanation. However, the ink machine had been a smashing success... Joey Drew had big plans for what it would be used for next. But it shouldn’t matter to me now… I quit, after all. I can’t help but worry, though…
