if you do end up in germany/south korea where would you go? does this influence your decision in any way?
Also do any of these programs have any other limitations like cost? Or too far away or something that might influence the decision? do they speak sufficient English for me to have a community there?
maybe answering some of these questions could help?
also especially if you're only there for a short time: you'll find a thousand places to love and visit wherever you go and they might be the tiniest of places so don't get sucked in (i don't think you will just quick reminder) by the appeal of the eiffel tower or something
it would be Berlin and Seoul as the main i guess “base” for the trips and both really appeal to me! i think it’s also best to clarify that these trips are very short as they’re intense international academic programs for my degree, so i wouldn’t be there long enough to really build a community other than with those in the program as well - which i knew applying for it ahahah i would’ve loved to do exchange but covid fucked it and im nearing the end of my degree 🥲
i think the biggest thing i’m struggling to decide is the academic aspect of it rather than the actual locations bc i know i’m going to loveeee either location regardless!! but they both have different objectives/topics/focuses academically, which is what i’m trying to decide i reckon but idk what exactly i prioritise more
i just had a ramble sesh with my roommate about my thinking behind this and where my heads at and i think i’m going to pref South Korea over Germany!! but again, this is all so so so highly competitive that i may end up not getting into either AHAHAHA (idek if you can get offered both or only one - it seems like i can only get offered one but the way the system works is so confusing)

You woke up by the sun beaming on your face. Already dreading the day, you pulled the covers over your head and buried yourself in the pile of pillows that were taking up most of the space on your bed. God, you were exhausted from yesterday.
See, yesterday- yesterday was a blur. Everything happened so fast. You and Tom were trending on Twitter for god-knows how many hours. Headlines about you two dating were plastered everywhere.
It made you roll your eyes. Do people care that much? And they do. People cared a lot about you two. People said that you two look great together, while a handful said you were in it for the clout. Technically, we both are.
So, now that you got the people’s attention, what’s next?
Well, for starters, they started tracking yours and Tom’s relationship from where and how it started. They wouldn’t find anything because you two aren’t really dating in the first place.
However, they did compilations of possible hints that you two were dating-or maybe was just getting to know each other. Luckily for you two, you followed each other on Instagram for quite a while now so you got that foundation to build up.
You liked some of his photos before, as did he. You actually found Tom quite adorable back then. The first time you saw him was when you saw Captain America: Civil War with your friends. You and your friends bonded over watching Marvel movies and once you saw Tom Holland as Peter Parker on screen, it was safe to say that you weren’t just crushing on Sebastian Stan anymore.
However, you did convince yourself that nothing trumps over your crush on Sebastian Stan. You also convinced yourself that you were crushing on Peter Parker-not Tom Holland. Peter Parker was sweet and kind, Tom Holland was not.
You pushed off the covers and finally pulled yourself out of bed. After doing your morning routine, you threw yourself into the couch with a coffee in hand while a toast on the other.
Today was your last day off before you went back to taping so you were expecting a pretty dull day today- that is until your phone kept on buzzing.
You looked at the caller ID before letting out a huge groan, “Zoë, Please for the love of God, it’s my day off.”
“Good morning to you too, Y/N.” Your manager said on the other line. “And I know it’s your day off, I just wanted to check up on you.”
You furrowed your brows. “That sounds oddly suspicious, what are you planning to do, Zoë?”
“Would you relax, Y/N? I was just asking if you have anything to do for your day off.” She replied.
“I’ll probably do a bit of grocery shopping later, but other than that I might bury myself in blankets and watch movies in the living room.” You answered and took a bite of your toast, frowning as you tried to swallow your sad and bland breakfast.
“Okay, that’s good to know-Oh, and I also wanted to tell you that your taping tomorrow has been moved for the next two days. Apparently, Alissa won’t be back till tomorrow.”
“Oh, thank god,” You sighed, relieved to hear that you have another day off. “Thanks for the heads up, Zo. I’ll see ‘ya soon.” You hung up the phone and finished the piece of toast.
You watched a few episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine before you gathered up the will to get yourself ready. After taking a well-deserved warm bath and doing your extensive skincare routine -watching videos about Koreans sharing their skincare routine on Youtube really got the best of you and your bank account- You put on a plain white shirt and paired it with your favourite pair of mom jeans.
As you grabbed your keys and your wallet, ready to bust out the door, you heard your phone ring.
“Are you home?”
“Yes, I am, Ronnie. Why are you asking?” You asked her.
“Cool. Can you open the door please?” She asked on the other line.
Confused, you opened your front door and sure enough, Veronica was standing in front of your apartment wearing her university sweatshirt and denim jeans.
“Oh thank god you’re ready, I had the most awful day at school. I just received my paper for my 400-level political science class and let’s just say that the mark I got, I haven’t done it in bed for a while now.” Veronica ranted off, taking her shoes off before placing her books on the coffee table.
It took you a solid minute before you just realized what she just said. “Ronnie, I don’t want to know about your sex life-” You said before you fixed your hair. “Or lack thereof.”
“I could really use some good fucking, ‘yannoe?”
“Jesus Christ, Ronnie-” You sighed as you handed her shoes back to her. “C’mon, I have to do some serious grocery shopping.”
“Okay, but I’m driving,” Ronnie said as she grabbed her car keys. “You’re a horrible driver.”
“Works for me,” You shrugged and locked the front door.
The travel to the grocery store was typical: you two belting One Direction songs the whole time. You and Veronica were strolling the yogurt aisle when she asked about your whole love life situation.
“Oi, I thought you and Tom weren’t dating?” She asked as she put an assorted pack of yogurt down the cart.
“I’m never going to eat that,” You pointed at the yogurt. “And we aren’t.”
“I will eat it whenever I stop by unannounced at your place,” Veronica argued. “Then what’s with that photo that I’ve seen with you two holding hands yesterday?”
You looked around, checking if there was anybody within-distance that could hear whatever you were about to say. “We’re not actually dating.” You murmured.
“Come again?” Veronica asked, completely lost.
“We’re just doing it for publicity.” You whispered loud enough for Ronnie to hear.
“I’m sorry, but how exactly did it escalate to that?” She asked, totally confused.
“Remember that stunt I pulled at the club the other day?”
“Yeah, you were all over the news.”
“That was the reason as to why it had to escalate to me and him dating.” You answered as you pushed the cart again.
“Yeah, no, I need a cup of coffee before we do this, I’m all caffeine-out,” Veronica said before she bid of herself off and went towards the Starbucks that was found near the entrance of the store.
You rolled your eyes playfully at your friend and carried on completing the least stressful adult task for you.
It was actually quite serene. You managed to finish your shopping without people noticing you-well, that’s a stretch. People did notice you. Most of them gave you an acknowledging nod followed by a small smile, some of them asked for a photo, and only a few just stared at you-which you didn’t mind.
You were paying for your things when Veronica appeared right beside you with a cup of coffee in hand. “What? Did the line at Starbucks reach the parking lot? What took you so long?”
“No, but a cute guy bought me a drink.” She beamed, taking a sip of her coffee.
You chuckled. “Good for you, Ronnie.”
“Y/N, girl, I swear- he has the most gorgeous eyes.” Ronnie carried on, the smile was stuck on her face. “Oh, he was so sweet.” She sighed happily.
You were happy for your friend since it’s not every day she meets someone that she’s completely enamoured with. However, she can express her liking for this guy while helping you load the grocery back in the cart. “Ronnie, that sounds great and all, but can you help me with the groceries so we can leave now?” You practically begged.
Veronica nodded and helped you load the groceries back in the cart, immediately speeding up the process. Taking too much time fixing your groceries at the till always gave you anxiety, especially when there’s a long queue behind you.
“Oh my god, Y/N,” Veronica gasped as you two were walking towards the parking lot.
“What? What happened? Are you okay?” You asked, completely baffled.
“I forgot to tell you that he has this amazing accent,” She sighed, making you roll your eyes.
“Ronnie, I swear to god I will fucking kill you.” You grumbled as Veronica opened the trunk of her car and started handing you the groceries for you to put in.
“I forgot to get his name though,” She mumbled. “which is a bummer because he was honestly a godsend.”
All you could do was roll your eyes as you were lost for words.
“Oh, quit rolling your eyes at me. Just because you have a boyfriend, doesn’t mean I don’t deserve to have one.” Ronnie pointed out.
“As if I actually have a boyfriend,” You countered, finishing up with the groceries.
“Whatever,” Veronica mumbled and shut off the trunk of her car. “I’ll just put this cart back and-”
“Hey, Veronica, was it?”
You and Veronica both turned your heads towards the person who just called Veronica’s name. As soon as she saw who the voice belonged to, it gave her extreme delight.
“Yes,” She beamed at the brunette with insanely blue eyes. “We talked earlier but I didn’t get your name.”
“Sorry ‘bout that. I had to take a phone call and when I got back, you weren’t there.” The guy explained. You took a good look at him. He seemed familiar but you couldn’t exactly put your finger on it.
“No, you’re okay! I had to go back to my friend here-which reminds me,” Veronica pulled you closer “This is my best friend, Y/N, Y/N, this is-”
“Harrison,” The guy smiled at you and extended his hand for you to shake. You politely shook his hand and after what seemed like an eternity, his eyes widened. “Wait, You’re Y/N L/N, right? From the Alchemist?”
You gave him a small nod, still trying to figure out who he is. “You’re also Tom’s girlfriend, I presume?” He asked a bit shyly.
“Great. I can’t believe I have to live with that label attached to my name now.” You thought to yourself.
You weren’t exactly sure if and how you were going to answer his question. Where are you with this stunt anyway? Are you and Tom supposed to be vocal about your relationship or were you two just blatant and left the people to figure out for themselves?
Harrison seemed to take notice of your hesitation in regard to the question. “It’s okay,” He says softly. “I know.”
“Pardon me?”
“I know the real deal about you and Tom.” He whispered.
There was a look of panic in Veronica’s eyes. “Yeah, that they’re totally in love.” She said defensively. You, however, seemed unbothered. You were also curious. You’ve seen Harrison before but you couldn’t point out where you’ve seen him.
“Harrison, you’re Tom’s best friend, yeah?” You asked him, starting to get a picture of how familiar he is.
Harrison nodded. “I wasn’t really expecting for our first meeting to be like this.” He chuckled.
“Eh, it’s alright,” You shrugged. “Much better for us to meet this way and in our own circumstance, considering your friend makes everything ten times more unbearable.”
Harrison let out a small laugh, “Tom’s not that bad once you get to know him.”
“Oh trust me, I know him plenty and so far, I’m not liking it.” You argued quite defensively. “Well, I’ll leave you two to chat for a bit as I put this cart back in its place.” You said as you gave Veronica a short look, in which she beamed at you in return.
You purposely took your time with returning the pushcart back in its rightful area. You fumbled with your phone for a bit, checking your Twitter only to find out that you’re still trending and people still have no idea what to feel about you and Tom’s relationship.
“Why did I pour my drink all over him again?” You asked yourself in frustration.
As you walked back towards Ronnie’s car, you saw your best friend and Harrison talk animatedly around each other with their smiles never leaving their faces.
The tad bitter side of you wondered if their mouths hurt from all that smiling, it also made you wonder if it’s even okay for a normal person to smile that much. However, the better part of you was glad that your best friend was happy. Veronica needed to be happy.
Soon after, they bid their goodbyes, not before exchanging phone numbers. Harrison gave you a friendly wave-goodbye before he walked towards his car.
As soon as you sat on the passenger seat of Ronnie’s car, you were already greeted by a huge smile on her face.
“Okay, don’t get mad-” Ronnie began.
You groaned. Knowing your best friend, you knew that she did something that will get you mad. “Ronnie, what did you do?”
“Okay, so I know that tonight was supposed to be our movie night but I just couldn’t help it! You know me through thick and thin, Y/N! You know how I do things impulsively around guys that I’m interested in. I’m like a mindless machine around them! I don’t even know why I’m talking this much when I usually have everything under control but Harrison-”
“Ronnie sweetie, breathe,” You said with your hands placed on top of her shoulders. “You are babbling and I need you to get straight to the point.”
Veronica took a deep breath before she said the words that almost made you want to smack the living daylights out of your friend. “I invited Harrison for dinner and I told him he can bring Tom too.”
Tumblr media
“Could you stop?” Veronica threw the kitchen towel at you as you continued to glare at her. “You’re being childish, hon.”
“I am not being childish! You’re being childish.” You argued, crossing your arms.
Veronica just stared at you, her face seemingly screams that she’s absolutely done with you.
“Okay, so maybe I am being childish,” You admitted. “But you threw the towel at me so I’m not the only one here with an attitude.”
Veronica rolled her eyes as she finished setting up the table. You two were supposed to have pasta over dinner and have a Harry Potter movie marathon while eating junk food. Well, you two were still going to do it, except this time you’re joined by Harrison and Tom.
“This is the worst thing you’ve ever done to me,” You said dramatically.
“Y/N, hon, you’re exaggerating. I’m pretty sure this evening’s not going to be bad.” Ronnie commented.
Veronica left the kitchen and proceeded to the living room to check her makeup in the mirror that was propped over the wall. You followed her into the living room and threw yourself on the couch.
“Ronnie, why did you even invite them? Don’t you have classes tomorrow? Also, aren’t you supposed to be writing your paper for your social class?” You asked as you watched Ronnie retouch her makeup.
You were trying your best to cancel this dinner. You tried to reason with your best friend though because this is your house in the first place. However, she pulled the “This is my chance in getting myself a love life” card and she has moaned for years that she really wants to meet someone. You’d do anything for Veronica’s happiness. You’d also do anything to keep your best friend quiet about how she wants to date so bad.
“I already have my draft for that paper, just need to edit it,” Ronnie replied as she applied a coat of mascara. “Besides, I don’t have any classes on Mondays, you knew that.”
“Right,” you mumbled. “Still think this is a bad idea though. Things got so unbearable with Tom yesterday, I don’t think I’ll be able to handle another day with that guy ever again.”
After your whole lunch scene with Tom yesterday, it felt suffocating. It was unbearable. He was back with his usual snarky attitude and it drove you mad.
You learned one sure thing about your set-up though: He was only charming around other people, but if it’s just you two? He was a jerk.
Not even a minute later, the doorbell rang. You got up and checked who was at the door and sure enough, two familiar faces filled up the screen.
“Speaking of the devil,” You muttered before opening the door and was greeted by Harrison who gave you a hug.
“Thanks for having us over, Y/N” Harrison said as he pulled away from the short hug. He then proceeded to give Veronica one, and it was obvious that his intentions were solely focused on her anyway.
“Uh, yeah. No problem.” You said almost awkwardly as you gave Ronnie a look, who in turn mouthed a grateful ‘Thank you’.
You turned back to the door and saw that Tom standing there, a stoic look on his face. He looked like he came out of a photoshoot based on the clothes he was wearing: slouchy black button-ups and a pair of denim jeans. “Holland,” You greeted him as you opened the door a bit wider.
“Y/L/N,” He said as he gave you a once-over. “You look...” Tom seemed like he was really trying hard to think of a nice word to say.
“Don’t strain yourself,” You said as you rolled your eyes.
You were wearing an oversized band shirt -that was tied in a knot at the front- and paired it with high-waisted patterned pants. You and Ronnie shared a small argument on what you should wear for dinner.
She insisted that you should dress for your comfort while looking presentable and you argued that that is the outfit that gave you comfort.
You also argued that Ronnie and her guests should be glad that you weren’t wearing sweatpants like you anticipated before Ronnie invited people for dinner.
“Good because I wasn’t planning to,” Tom nagged, sending you into absolute overdrive.
As soon as he had his back turned on you, you resisted the urge of strangling him right then and there.
Unbeknownst to you and Tom, Veronica and Harrison caught the frustration painted on your face causing them to chuckle amongst themselves.
You and Tom had only known each other for two days at most, and yet you already had the most confusing relationship that existed in this world.
“If this carries throughout the evening, the world will know me not as Tom Holland’s girlfriend, but as the girl who killed him.” You muttered to Veronica as you passed by her.
“Relax, Y/N,” Veronica chuckled as she put a hand over your shoulder. “Dinner wouldn’t be that bad.”
Tumblr media
Saying that dinner wouldn’t be that bad would be an understatement. Dinner was horrible.
Veronica and Harrison were pretty much occupied during the entire meal. They mostly had their attention to each other, which didn’t surprise you. Ronnie and Harrison were smitten for each other, it actually made you snort.
You and Tom, though, were a different case. You two were seated across each other and you two wouldn’t stop bickering.
It started when Tom accidentally kicked your foot underneath the table.
“Ouch!” You yelped. “Why did you kick me?!”
“It was an accident,” He said defensively.
“Psh, right” You scoffed. “Accident my ass.”
The “I accidentally kicked you underneath the table” carried on for the entire meal, with you and Tom exchanging kicks every few minutes.
You two also shared glares throughout the dinner.
“Why are you mad at me?!” Tom argued.
“Because you’re here!”
“Well, why did you invite me then?!”
“I didn’t! It was all her!” You hissed as you pointed at Veronica who was rather talking intimately with Harrison, and was also very much oblivious to the argument unveiling in front of her and Haz.
“God, why did I even think coming here was a good idea.” Tom moaned as he pinched the bridge of his nose, obviously annoyed.
It didn’t even end there, as you all moved from the kitchen and into the living room to start the Harry Potter marathon, you and Tom started bickering over a piece of furniture.
As Ronnie and Haz went to the loveseat sofa, you claimed the larger couch so you could lay down while watching the film and leaving Tom with nothing to sit on. You didn’t have much furniture considering you’re the only one who lives in this apartment.
“Scoot over, Y/N.” He said as he approached the couch you were laying on.
“You can sit at the ottoman.”
“And have nothing to rest my back on?”
“God, you are such a diva.” You grumbled. “Just sit on the floor then.” You replied as you pulled the faux fur blanket over you, keeping you warm and cozy.
“I don’t want to sit on the floor for hours,” Tom argued as he tried to pull you up from your position.
“Fine, I’ll get you the floor cushion.” You said in defeat.
“I want to sit on the couch, Y/N.”
“I am not moving, Holland. You can’t make me.” You said rather childishly.
“Fine,” Tom sighed and pulled the ottoman closer to the couch. He pulled up your feet and sat on the end of the couch as he propped his feet on top of the ottoman. He placed your feet on top of his lap, as you claimed you weren’t going to get up from your laying down position.  “Then don’t move.” He dictated, leaving you to roll your eyes.
And as for the cherry on top, you had your manager nag you to post something about your evening. You didn’t even know that Veronica filmed a quick story for her Instagram until you received a message from Zoë saying: “A couple of fans that follow Ronnie saw her story. Share it on your Insta too, it adds foundation to  our story.”
Ronnie’s Insta story showed the television playing Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s stone, and it panned to Harrison who was smiling softly at the camera and then, panned to you and Tom who were sharing the couch. You two were watching intently and from the looks of it, you looked like a very believable couple.
Your manager was right and that irked you. The devil works hard but Zoë works harder.

Lockdown Diary Part 8
A personal account during the lockdown in the UK due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
23/03/2020 8:30pm Boris Johnson, UK Prime Minister, gives a live address to the nation to, effectively, put the country on lockdown to stem the spread of the deadly coronavirus strain, Covid-19.
Many of us have been self-isolating for days but this latest development within the UK in reaction to the pandemic feels very serious and very scary. I decided to keep a simple diary and where better but online.
Day 211: I stayed up till 5am last night. The last thing I watched was Ronny Chieng, a Malaysian comic in the states. It was a Netflix comedy special and bloody funny. Other than that, a quiet night, nowhere near as fucked as Friday night. As I type, I am about to finish off spicy af sausage cassserole for tea and watch a film - all quite sedate. I’ve work tomorrow, after all!
Day 212: Every time I try and watch something on Amazon Prime, it errors or doesn’t load so I have to uninstall and reinstall, which is a pain the fucking arse. Glad I don’t pay for it. I watched half of the Tom Hanks film last night, A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood, based on a real life children’s TV actor. It’s good but weird. I’ll finish it tonight. Jo Broom called and told me (well, reminded me of, actually) some good info, especially about insulin lasting 4 hours and the liver producing sugar for when you wake up). Day 213: I didn’t watch the rest of that Tom Hanks film last night, doing so right now. I got a call @5.30pm from Tall Tom asking to pop round which he did (social-distancing at the front door). He dropped of a canvas print he’d ordered of on eof my pictures from FB. Fucking gobsmacked! That’s how much he likes them. I am still in shock. What a brilliant thing to do! Day 214: Finished  A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood last night, I enjoyed it. Today has been standard. Half way through the third week back from furlough and, while I am still very glad to be working, I now also relish pasrt of being paid 80% for fuck all! My walks have been tentative today, I have done something to my right ankle, it feels sore but OK when walking at pace. My phone and Google Fit are playing up - I am suddenly walking 8km/h! Day 215: Phoned Dad - Rita sent an email a couple of days ago telling of a lump in his ear which he had removed and they are going to check for cancer. When I spoke with him it was usual dad - nothing to worry about. He spoke very highly of the staff at Stamford Hospital where he had it done. They took skin from his nesxk to put on his ear lobe where they performed the op.  I had pie and veg tonight. It’s a real change and I am stuffed as I type this. SB pee-ed me off at work big time late this afternoon. Diary updated! Day 216: Dan’s in court today for his drink driving escapade. I think he’s pleading not guilty - I’m not sure, neither has he been each time I have talked to him about it. It was scheduled at 4pm and he’s meant to let me know how it went. As I type, it’s just gone 9pm. Fuck knows what’s happening. I guess he’ll let me know in his own time. Meanwhile, work was OK, nothing hectic, I am on my first Friday beer, just about to eat meatballs and pasta and watch Taxi, a film written by Luc Besson. End of my 3rd week back and it’s a bit like I wasn’t furloughed for 6 months!
Day 217: I switched off that Taxi film after 30 minutes. It was bollocks. Dan got a 20 month ban (reduced to 15, if he does a course, which he says he will) and £1100 fine. At least it’s over and done with now. I got up at gone 2pm today. I have to cut this late sleeping habit out at the weekends. That being said, it’s 8.40pm, just about to dive in the shower, eat and then get on it. Clocks go back later so I’ve an extra hour to play with!
Day 218: Still managed to stay up stupidly late last night, up at before 1pm (but in real terms, that’s just before 2pm!)  Had a video chat with Fog - I was meant to go up to his yesterday to listen to the footy but, ‘cos I was up so late, I didn’t. Anyway, during our chat, we’ve decidied to go to Honolulu when it’s safe, specifically to go to McDs. It was a bizarre conversation - I can’t actually remember the details!
Day 219: The lady (I think it’s a lady) from the Oundle Chronicle emailed to say she didn’t think William (the student) has contacted me (he has but is fucking useless), so she’s found some questions for me to answer and wants me to pick my favourite 4 (hi-res) photos. I’ve written a couple of paragraphs that answer her questions and I was to pick photos that have had the most likes on FB - finding that info out, without trawling back over my posts, is easier said than done! Got the car tyres sorted today - an advisory from the MOT that Julian did last week.. I do like Oundle Tyre and Exhaust centre. Work was fine. Marke had to deal with Eileen Baxter and chatted to me about it. I had it all the week before last. She’s delightful but the least IT savvy person I have ever known in a workplace whereby a computer is integral to the role!
Day 220: I’ve been doing press-ups and toe tocuhes after each exercise for a little while now. 7 press-ups, doesn’t sound much but when I did it before and rapidly increased the numbers (up to 22), it played havoc with my shoulder which I thought was becoming frozen. So, I will icrease the amount slowly. I can just about touch my toes now. When I started, I barely got past my fucking knees! Work was standard today and I had an interesting chat with a recruiter about a job at Jagex, a computer game firm responsible for Runescape which is, apparently, a big deal. Posh playing tonight. At one point, when leading at home to Burton we were top. Now it’s 2-2 with minutes to go and we’re third with fucking Lincoln top. Day 221: I sent an email to Shirley from HR (re) asking about the salary discrepancy between mine and Mark’s. She’s going to talk to me tomorrow about it. I had a lomng chat with Barrzy tonight, always good to catch up and reminisce. I’ve just had two sausage rolls (on the cheap shelf from Co-Op, Dauphinoise dotatoes (ditto), mixed green veg and onion gravy for tea and I am fucking stuffed.
Day 222: Typing at gone 4pm on day 223! Had a meet with Shirley. No dice on the pay until it can be reviewed next year. All pay reviews are on hold. She explained that the salary offer was based on available budget rather than a pay grade or bench mark. Day 223: Typing this very late on day 224. Usual Friday. Work, beers, bed at 5am. went up Fog’s for a couple and watched Train to Busan. Day 224: I swore blind, when I woke and got up (2.24pm) I would have a day off from exercise. Stair climb and 10km walk done! Leigh from Oundle Chronicle messaged chasing my answers for the article. Last night, someone posted such great pics on the Oundle Chatter group that it makes me think twice about posting my photos. I tell everyone I just point and snap with my phone camera and, while it is the phone camera, I do so much pissing about with Google photos I feel like a con, it doesn’t sit well with me. Made lasagne for tea. Fucking lush - lardons, scothc bonnet and an Oxo cube really helped, I think. It’s 11:44pm as I type, 15 mins and I’ll deliver K’s birthday card. Not sure what I am hoping to come out of that, really. Just can’t let go! Day 225: Stupidly late one again last night. Up at 2pm. I’ve responded to Leigh at the Oundle Chronicle - why I make it so hard, I do not know, I really overthink some things.  Eye appointment tomorrow, 9.50am, which Sam, Mr. Minos’s secretary offered me when she called on friday. Sueanne was very cool about it when I checked it was OK. So, now I am fretful of what will happen! More lasering, I reckon.
Day 226: Eye clinic was not great. I need lasering in my right eye, so that will be both eyes. Mr. Hussain, the consultant that ive seen loads including today, explained that the field of vision is affected that it can mean I am not allowed to drive. In one eye it doesn’t matter, in both the DVLA will order a test and, if the field isn’t wide enough, means I won’t get a license to drive. Shit! K WhatsApp to thank me for the card plus some ‘chat’ which ended uninvitingly (i.e., end of conversation!). I just replied that I was glad she liked it (the card),
Something is up with my left thumb, it’s sore by the nail, as if it’s ingrowing, but it isn’t. Fuck knows what it is and it’s really bothering me, very painful. Pretty shit day, all in all. Day 227: Called the surgery about my thumb and Dr. leijsen called me back, asked some questions about the photo (I had to take a pic and send it in), including whether there’s any pus, and then said she’ll prescribed anti-biotics. Later today, it started to leak pus, and feel better! But, it’s still not right so I’‘l take the course. Looks like I have got an interview for the IT support job at Jagex, got a call from the recruiter today, just need confirmation. Spoke with Shirley from HR about the fact I might not be able to drive in the future. She was pretty cool about it in a kind of cross-that-bridge way and suggested I run it past Sueanne.
Day 228: Spoke with Sueanne about my impending eye lasering which is on Friday ay 3.30pm, the hospital called to let me know, she was very cool about it and even suggested I take Monday off! More importantly, she spoke of the non-driving as no factor to worry about job wise, especially as we are all WfH nowadays. I have an interview at Jagex, well, Zoom, but it is on Friday, 1pm.
Day 229: Told Mark at work about the lasering adn potential non-driving. I think it shocked him a little. I am worried about tomorrow, big time, although it’s just lasering - I’ve had it done before. I cannot wait for this time tomorrow (9.40pm). I have been trying to concentrate on preparing for the interview but it’s all too easy to get distracted. Day 230: Interview went OK. Eye appointment was horrible but bearable. The doc wants me to book in for more laser but, only so it can be reviewed and ‘topped up’ if need be. Better than a going for a check up and having to book another laser appointment thereafter. It’s near enough 9.00pm and I am going to enjoy a bear or two.
Day 231: No after affects to speak of from the eye appointment but I know lasering has occurred. It’s like I haven’t got the full set of cells recieve information from yje pupil. It’s intangible but still perceptible. Great walk today, took some cracking photos - very pleasing. More booze and draw tonight and, hopefully, up tomorrow before the 2.20pm wake up time of today. Posh beat Oxford away (1-2) in the FA Cup 1st round.
Day 232: 2pm by the time I got out of bed. I’ve got to curb this habit. Missed calls from Dad but answered one from Rita just before going for a walk when I promised to phone tomorrow. Day 233: I think SB wa surprised was at work today. I ordered two rugs (from irugs.co.uk). They are 8x5″ and were 75% off, £58 ea. One for under the table (desk) and I put one in the spare room. Hopefully keep the house a tad warmer. Getting into Barry on Sky Comedy. Barry’s a hit man. It’s darkly intriguing. I took a couple of pics of a solitary poppy today, icuding a couple of macros. They turned out OK so will post one on Wednesday (11/11).  Talking of photos, two people (one is Alison Brighty) asked for a jpeg of one of the photos I posted on Saturday so they can get it printed.
Day 234: Spoke with dad today, let him know the situation with my eyes which, I think worries him, so I hate to do it but, also, he needs to know, just in case.
Day 235: The poppy pic I posted was very well received, over 160 likes on the Oundle chatter page and Jo Langford wants the original (why she can’t take it of FB?) to print off, which is nice. I am working on Saturday - gotta attend a meeting at 8am. FFS! SB also agreed for me to back on call, cool!
Day 236: Average sort of day. I really wish I wasn’t working on Saturday! OH, Dan messaged...first I’ve heard from him for over two weeks...he’s got two days of so he can watch all the US Masters which started today, and was good watching. So, not that average a day afterall, now that I think back on it. Day 237: Woke up at 9.14am today, yikes! Messaged with Dan a lot as he is home watching the US Masters...told him abbout my eye issues and the fact there’s a chance of losing my driving license. Also, in a silly facebook post and comments, about me not being able to drink tonight ‘cos of work tomorrow, Scottish Ricky asked if I was OK. I replied, not really, meaning that I’m pissed off I can’t get pissed. He messaged to say if I ever need to chat. Fucking great bloke. I rang him to let him know I was not being serious on FB and we chatted for 30 mins or so. Top man. still, it does remian that I am missing a beer this Friday - roll on tomorrow night!
Day 238: Work thsi morning was OK, finished at midday. Watchung golf, having abeer or two right now (just gone 8pm). Posh lost away to Crewe 0-2. Day 239: Up at 2pm after a good few drinks last night (and some silly video posting on FB of me  trying shit lager - Corrs Light - with hot sauce). Just settling down to watch Dustin Johnson win the Masters - he’s -20 with 2 to play, no one near him.
Day 240: I ordered some slippers from Amazon that arrived today. They were also returned today. I’m destined to never find a decent, non-expensive pair.
DJ did win the golf.
I watched Jojo Rabbit this evening. A first class film.

You know what they say about Derry, no one who dies here ever really dies.
IT + Pet Semetary = fun times for no one involved
It all started when their dog passed away.
They had decided to spend their summer vacation in Maine, a terrible decision on their parents as the city had far more to offer than their sleepy little town. Eddie had just started a new job and was only given a week to take off during the months of June to August. They chose July because that’s when it would be the least offensively hot in Maine.
Richie had landed a pretty sweet job interviewing celebrities for Podcasts. It wasn’t exactly what he wanted to do with his life, but he’d take it over being unemployed. Rather than sit around in their apartment for a week like Richie had hoped they would, they packed up their travel-sized belongings and headed back to the town they grew up in.
Despite his mother begging him to stay in his old childhood bedroom, Eddie put his foot down and settled to rent a room in the local townhouse. Sonia Kaspbrak wasn’t happy about it, but so long as Eddie was back, she’d deal.
Richie was content with this choice. For one, his own family no longer lived in Derry, so it wasn’t like he had anywhere to offer. Second, Eddie’s bedroom, which was basically a shrine to the poor guy, was too small for them to both fits. Not that Sonia would even allow Richie to stay there. She had never lived Richie, neither as Eddie’s friend or boyfriend, so Richie was sure if they were going to stay at the Kaspbrak house, he’d be sleeping on that uncomfortable couch.
Luckily, Eddie cared about his well being enough to not force him to do that and they got themselves a room with a mattress big enough for them both.
It started off pretty good. Eddie’s mother was beginning him to come over and spend time with her, wanting him to use up all seven days with just her. He compromised and gave as much time as he could while also meeting up with some old friends. Mike Hanlon still lived in Derry, running the library as the local historian.
Most of the group had moved on out of Derry, choosing to have lives of their own. The only ones they saw often enough were Bill Denbrough and Stanley Uris, who went back and forth from Long Island to California depending on whether or not Bill’s latest novel was to be turned into a script. The last time Richie and Eddie saw Ben Hanscom and Beverly (formerly Marsh) Hanscom was when they announced the birth of their first child.
It was tough growing up and growing apart from the people you always left closest to. Eddie and Richie were lucky as they always had each other. Through all the ups and downs, the trials and tribulations, Eddie had Richie and Richie had Eddie. It wasn’t easy because hello, being gay in Maine was never easy, but they made it work back in high school and they’d make it work here.
The first day had been them getting comfortable and meeting up with Mike for dinner. It was nice seeing a friendly face to talk about all the things that changed. The Aladdin was still standing, still looking as beaten up as ever. The standpipe was still the obnoxious eyesore that made the town look ever so picturesque. Keene’s drug store was still around and Richie made sure to tease Eddie about picking up his inhaler replacement.
They hung out and enjoyed themselves in the townhouse. Eddie was still iffy about certain things and made sure to change the sheets on the bed with the ones they had brought from home. It was for the best and Richie wasn’t going to argue with him, especially since Eddie was more than kind enough to allow Richie to messy them up in their own way when they got home from dinner.
It was the following day that everything turned to shit. Eddie had promised to spend the entire day with his mother, leaving Richie to fend for himself in the penthouse. Along with their luggage, they also brought along with dog Penny. She was a preciously little Pomeranian who was sweeter than candy and the apple of their eye. They had been thinking of getting a pet for a while and after finally buying a place of their own, they went down to the shelter to pick one out.
Pure breed dogs like Penny weren’t usually brought to places like that, rather sold by a breeder, but they were in luck. Her mother had been put up for adoption while pregnant and the puppies were scattered across the shelter. They took the smallest one because it reminded Richie so much of Eddie and welcomed her into their home.
They weren’t too sure where the name came from. Richie joked that they called her Penny because she was dirt cheap compared to so many other dogs that literally cost you an arm and a leg just to have. Eddie liked to think they got it from “Penny Lane” the Beatle song, but neither was right or wrong.
Now, the thing about the townhouse was that the whole thing hadn’t been updated since they were kids. No nice TVs or anything from the modern era. There were fans offered, but no AC unit in place. Richie was suffering from the heat and opened the far window in hopes of casting a bit of fresh air into the place.
He sat on the couch with his computer, trying to come up with some new material for the standup special he had been working on. He was funny and knew he could be funny outside of the podcast world. All he needed was the material to show it off.
Well, Penny was a precocious little pup and always liked to inspect things. She hopped up onto the window sill and began yapping at the birds on the outside. She had done the same thing yesterday, except the difference was there were several inches of glass keeping her at bay. Now there was no barrier between them, so nothing stopped the poor thing from leaping out the window, charging at the birds.
Unlike the birds however, she didn’t have wings to keep her from falling the several stories down onto the pavement below. It was only the sound of her whimpering that caught Richie’s ear. It didn’t take much for the man to realize what happened and by the time he got down to the street belong, Penny was suffering more than any animal should.
Richie was distraught. Despite never having been known to be an animal person, Penny was as close to as a child that Eddie and he were going to have for a while. She was literally their baby. They had taken her at the moment she was able to get off drinking from her mother. They bought her toys and little outfits. Eddie talked about buying a carriage so he could push her around while jogging because her little legs were just too short for the three-mile trip he’d take around the city.
She even had her own corner in their bedroom and a dog house in the living room of their place, but at the end of the day, she always ended up sleeping on their bed.
Eddie even put a little staircase at the foot of the bed so she could hop on up without issue.
And now she was dead on the ground, having fallen from their fucking room because Richie couldn’t just put up with the heat.
He felt awful. Disgusting and terrible. Eddie would hate him for this, that much was obvious. He’d call him every bad name in the book because he just had to open up the window. Even if it was a mistake, an innocent one, that didn’t stop Richie from feeling like garbage.
He called Mike because he had no other idea of what to do. He didn’t know if there were any local vets or anything like that. There was no way they’d be burying her here. The last thing Richie wanted was to leave their precious little Penny behind.
Richie thought about cremating her and bringing her back up to New York. They could scatter her ashes along the water or keep her in an urn in their apartment. Eddie would probably want to leave a little memorial at her favorite park. They didn’t have a backyard or anything like that, so they took her to the dog park two to three times a week.
When Mike came, they sat together, with Penny tucked away inside one of the meatpacking boxes.
He wanted to wait for Eddie. He had to wait for Eddie because if they guy came home and Richie told him that he was gone and Eddie didn’t even get to say goodbye, then that would just make it so much worse.
They sat together in the alleyway behind the townhouse, smoking as Richie thought about his fate and how angry Eddie would be.
“She used to curl up on Eddie’s lap whenever he was trying to work.” He mentioned to Mike with a loving smile. “All she ever wanted to do was cuddle us and we let her because we were mushes. Now she’s gone.”
Richie rubbed his eyes behind his glasses, ignoring the fear of tears coming on. He felt sick to his stomach and looked over to the box just a few feet away from him.
“My dog died when I was a kid,” Mike admitted quietly. “It was before we met. Henry Bowers gave him meat that was laced with insect poison. Guess he thought the old mutt was an eyesore.”
Richie shivered at the thought of Bowers and all the old memories came flooding back to him. He had been a thorn in Richie’s side even before he realized he was gay though the latter didn’t help matters much. He was a racist, homophobic shit who probably went nowhere in life. Or worse, actually made something of himself.
Either way, the less they spoke about Bowers the better.
“My grandfather told me about a place high up on the hills near the old Native American tribute. Apparently, the place still has some magic hidden up there or something. Anyway, he  carried the old boy there and the next day, he was back.”
“Back? Like . . . back from the dead?”
“I can’t explain it, but he was back. Different, but back.”
“Different how?”
“Mean,” Mike confessed, putting out the butt of his cigarette on the nearby wall. “He was pretty vicious. Broke into the barn and killed a couple of sheep. My grandfather ended up putting him down because he was becoming such a problem.”
“Penny couldn’t kill a thing. Barely weights five pounds.” Richie mentioned, looking from Mike to the box. He didn’t believe in magic or anything of the sorts, but he was a desperate man. “Where was this place?”
Turned out to be twenty minutes away by car, out towards where Mike lived and even further than that. The sky was turning dark by the time they got there and passing through the woods didn’t make it any easier.
“I want you to know the only reason I brought you here is that you’re my friend,” Mike told him calmly as they made their way down the path. There was a small area with handmade gravestones and a sign reading “Pet Sematary” hanging above. The incorrect spelling would drive Eddie crazy and Richie found himself smiling just thinking of it.
“So what, I just . . . pick a place?”
“Not here,” Mike said and carried down past the bushels of woods and up the hill town until they came upon a bleak circle with Native American carvings all along the ground.
“Have you been here before?” Richie asked carefully.
“Once. My grandfather and I were looting the area for anything we thought we could sell.” Mike admitted.
“You stole from Native Americans? Don’t they have enough to deal with?” Richie inquired.
With a slight glare, he continued. “He showed me this place and told me a few things about it. He didn’t want me to be curious and find it on my own. Mike paused, turning to hand Richie the shovel as he took the box that contained Penny. “You bury your own.” He told him. “That’s the rule.”
With one last sigh, Richie got to digging. He didn’t think any of this would work, but he was desperate to find out. If it all turned out to be some sick joke on Mike’s end, then at least they could call the trip short. Richie would dig up Penny and they’d go to the next town over to cremate her. They’d handle her ashes properly and Richie would take whatever punishment Eddie had planned for him.
When he was finished, he found himself more tired than expected. Like the place took away whatever energy he had to offer it. He got back to the townhouse and fell into the bed, falling asleep before even realizing it.
When he woke the following morning, it was to the sound of Eddie yelling at him. He jolted up, not knowing what day it was or why he was being hassled. He pushed himself up and out of bed, realizing only now he still had his muddy shoes on.
He stepped out of the bedroom and found Eddie on the floor, kneeling down beside a very dirty Penny. Her normally golden fur was matted with dirt and she was yipping around and around, much like the bubble ball of energy she was before.
“Seriously? What the hell did you do, take her running through the woods?” Eddie demanded, looking up to Richie. “And you! What, did you sleep in dirty clothes?”
“You didn’t come home last night,” Richie mumbled, rubbing his hand against his face.
“Mom had me watch one of those Turner Classic Movie Marathons. I fell asleep on the couch. I texted you but I never got a reply.” Eddie stood them, carrying Penny in his arms. “Come on, pretty girl. You need a bath. And Papa is gonna be the one to do it.”
Penny was shoved in his arms before he could even properly respond. Shuffling off to the bathroom, he listened to Eddie go on and on about his day with his mother while he got the tub set up for Penny.
He watched the dog curiously, trying to piece together what the hell happened. For a split second, Richie thought that the entire events of last night had been a horrible dream. Maybe he had just taken Penny out somewhere and they both got dirty. This town always gave him headaches, a little memory loss was no surprise to him.
“Rich, why is the window open?” Eddie asked as he popped his head into the bathroom. “In the living room. It’s wide open, you didn’t leave it open all night, did you? What if a bird got in? I swear I leave you alone for a fucking day.”
Richie stared with wide eyes at the dog that was digging into the bathroom rug. If last night wasn’t a dream, then that would mean Penny came back from the dead. How the fuck did she get back to the apartment? How did she get into the apartment? Nothing made sense to Richie, but he tried to ignore it all as he lifted her up and put her into the tub.
Normally, Penny was a lover of bath time. At their own apartment, they had plenty of room in their double-sized tub so it wouldn’t be a surprise for her to whine and whimper until Eddie lifted her up and they all bathed together on nights when they just needed some relaxation.
She would sit and allow Eddie to wash her and blow bubbled with her nose. Richie had countless pictures of her on his phone where she had colorful shower caps on to keep her ears or rubber duckies to keep her entertained.
Now, the former majestic and comforting dog was growling and yipping at Richie, going so far as to bite his arm when he tried to wash her. Richie couldn’t remember a single time that Penny had a bit at him, had snapped at all, but he chose not to question it.
She was back and they’d live with the attitude adjustment for now. He made a mental note to message Mike and give him a heads up about the place, but for now, he had a zombie dog to wash.
After the bath, Richie let Penny go and she moved around the apartment, going into the corner sit alone. Richie also took a shower, washing away all the dirt under his hair and somehow in his hair. He changed into clean clothes and found the dirty sheets had already been stripped and changed by Eddie, who was back in the kitchen, typing away on his computer as he drank his coffee.
“I thought we agreed on no work?” He asked casually, going to plop down onto the couch.
“Not work. Social stuff. Updating statues and all that.” Eddie moved forward, going to sit beside him on the couch. He held up his laptop, showing a picture from facebook. It was from Beverly and Ben with their baby on the beach. An adorable scene with Beverly completely slathered in sunscreen because of her pale complexion and Ben wearing the ugliest fucking hat he has ever seen. “Aren’t they adorable?”
Richie had to smile. He wasn’t wrong. They were very, very cute because how could they not be? They had been together since the end of high school. Lots of back and forth before Beverly finally grew a brain and realized the one she wanted and needed was Ben. They were a gorgeous family and Richie was envious of her happiness.
“That could be us someday,” Eddie ventured with a smile.
“Babe, you wear like . . . three times more sunblock than Beverly and if you think I’m wearing a hat that horrendous, you’re mistaken.”
“Not that, dumbass. The baby!” Right. The child.
Eddie had talked about it before. The whole adoption thing. Richie wasn’t opposed to it. Eddie had originally suggested fostering but Richie shut that down hardcore because he knew better. He knew Eddie would never be able to let the kid go so at least if they adopted right off the bat, they wouldn’t have to deal with anybody coming and trying to take the kid away from them.
“Eds, we’ve tried to remember? We just can’t seem to get you pregnant,” Richie teased, the tip of his nose nuzzling Eddie’s cheek.
Eddie sighed, closing the computer and placing it onto the coffee table beside Richie’s. They had talked about a lot of things. Adoption. Marriage. Growing old together. His own parents lived happily together raising two kids before retiring to Flordia. They weren’t perfect, but they didn’t have to be. Richie just hoped to be half the kind of partner his father had been, even if he wanted to be a better father.
“Your mom's not gonna cry and beg you to spend the night again, will she?” Richie asked curiously.
“Probably, but I won’t go. I told her I’d see her later this week but I want to use this time wisely and actually enjoy my vacation. Not just run around and do errands for her.”
“What a good son you are, Eddie Bear,” Richie said, kissing his cheeks wetly. Eddie groaned and pushed him away, causing Richie to laugh out. “Seriously, though. Do you have any plans? Did you sign us up for anything? No one to have dinner with?”
“I don’t think so.”
“Well, then what do you say to a good old fashioned date, huh? I was thinking: movies, dinner, and a walk along rickety Kissing Bridge?”
It was what they did when they were teenagers. Hang back at the top of the theater, grabbed pizza at the local parlor, and spit loogies off the bridge to the river below. Of course, as they got older and became an item, things became more romantic. They held hands during the movies and separated from the others for dinner. The only spit they shared at the bridge were kisses shared in secret. It wasn’t ideal, but it was good enough for them.
“I think you got yourself a date, Tozier.” Eddie decided, turning his head to kiss Richie.
It almost deepened then and while Richie would have been more than happy to let Eddie have his way with him right on the couch, they both turned away to see Penny pissing on the TV stand.
“Penny! What the hell?” Normally when the pup had to go she would let out a whimper and circle at the door. She was well trained; they had her certificate at doggy school and everything, but none of that seemed to matter anymore. Eddie pushed up off the couch to clean up and Richie watched as the dog walked on, obviously not giving a single fuck.
They changed and left the apartment. Richie worried about what Penny would do when they were gone, what trouble she would get into. She wasn’t a messy dog; she had been a wonderful puppy and didn’t even chew on a single shoe, but now that she was . . . different, he worried about what would come of it.
Richie couldn’t think about that right now. He wanted to focus on something better and that was going out on a date with his boyfriend. They chose whatever the theater was playing when they arrived. Didn’t bother to check online, mostly cause Eddie wasn’t even sure the Aladdin even had a website. They chose The Monkey’s Paw, some old black and white film that was playing; bought their large popcorn and sodas and went up to the top ledge as they did as kids.
Richie kicked his feet up, waiting for Eddie to do the same so they could intertwine their ankles. They shared the popcorn and a few kisses as the film played on. It wasn’t a horrible movie; definitely worth the time to see it through Richie found he much preferred to watch Eddie than to watch whatever was happening on screen.
When it was over, they tossed out their containers and left the theatre. Eddie was talking a mile a minute about the movie they just watched, all the while Richie just smiled and nodded along. They went to the nearby diner for dinner and Richie watched as Eddie searched and searched before finally deciding to go with a plain burger. He asked what kind of grease they used, but gave up trying afterward because it was fucking Derry Maine, they couldn’t expect anything to be healthy around here, even with the growing vegan trend.
They shared fries and onion rings, talking about all the fun they used to have when they were kids, trying to split the bill with their allowances; counting nickels and dimes just to make it. Now they were both making money and paying for the bill was with a quick swipe of the credit card.
It was a calm night, sitting and chatting with each other as Richie continued to flood the table jukebox, playing all the songs they grew up with. He ended on “Together Forever” by Rick Astley because it was loud and dramatic, the exact opposite of Eddie. Richie sang it to him lovingly, not caring if anybody watched. The look he got from Eddie was more than enough. A glance that says: you’re a total idiot but you’re my total idiot.
What more could he ever want?
When they finished, Richie persuaded Eddie to take a walk with him. It was late, but not too late. The moon was high in the sky, just after sundown. The heat settled and the breeze was beginning to pick up around them.
They walked down the lane together, right up to Kissing Bridge. Eddie read the names aloud, trying to think if he knew any of the people. They stopped when they came upon the all too familiar carving. Richie had done it back when they were just kids. Barely fourteen at the time and completely in love with his best friend. The carving was faded by now, but the sentiment meant the same.
R + E
Richie plus Eddie.
“Forever and ever, babe,” Richie mentioned, going to lean against the bridge. He watched Eddie, catching the moonlight in his eyes and in his hair. He was gorgeous and always would be. “You know . . . I had been thinking about this for a while.”
“You: thinking? Oh, that can’t be good.” Eddie laughed softly.
“It’s kind of obvious that you’re it for me, Eduardo. And unless you can find another ugly mother fucking with a gangly body, I think I might be it for you too.”
“Depends on if the circus is coming to town,” Eddie mentioned, a loving smile coming across his face.
“Eds. I’m sure there are thousands of ways I could do this and maybe waiting until we get back to New York is the better choice, but call me a sentimental fuck, but I can’t imagine anywhere else I’d rather ask you this.”
He had both the ring a month ago, knowing eventually they’d have the time together and he’d be able to ask. Richie couldn’t think of a better place than their hometown. Not because of the idealistic ways around it, but rather because what would be a better fuck you to this horrible town than being extremely gay smack dab in the middle of it?
Richie got down onto one knee, holding out the ring box he had fished from his jacket pocket. It was white gold with an overlay of diamonds. Simple and elegant, just like Eddie himself.
“Eddie Spaghetti,”
Eddie laughed, his cheeks turning scarlet in the moonlight. “Christ Rich,”
“Would you do the honor of marrying me?”
“Do you really think I’d say no, asshole? Yes! One hundred times yes,”
Richie’s smile was as bright as the fucking moon. He slipped the ring on, which was the perfect size because he knew exactly what size finger Eddie had. He knew more about Eddie than he knew about himself sometimes.
When all was said and done he stood, towering over the other male, though he bent forward to kiss him, not caring at his glasses were pushed up against his nose. They’d deal with it later.
Lost in their kiss, neither noticed the car stopping in the middle of the bridge or the driver getting out of it. When they broke away, Richie turned to see an all too familiar blue thunderbird idling on the bridge and coming over to them was the same mullet-wearing asshole that made his life a living hell all those years ago.
“Well, ain't this a pretty sight.” Henry Bowers muttered, looking over to his companions.
“Hello to you too, Bowers,” Eddie said, looking the group up and down slowly.
“Tozier and Kaspbrak. Haven’t seen your ugly faces around here in a while.” Henry mentioned. “Thought I got rid of your losers.”
“No, that was college. We went there while you stayed and jerked off into a bucket.” Richie replied back easily.
“Always knew you two were fucking each other. What? Marsh’s puss wasn’t good enough so you two turned into a couple of faggots?”
“There is so much wrong in everything you just said.” Eddie groaned, rubbing at his temple. The ring caught the moonlight and Henry’s attention.
“Well, I guess congratulations are in order,” Henry mentioned, approaching slowly. He placed a hand on Richie’s shoulder, that sadistic smile that always sent a shiver down Richie’s spine shined darkly. “Welcome home,” He said cheerfully before driving his fist into Richie’s stomach.
It wasn’t their first beating. They had taken blows by Bowers and his gang before and back in New York they were used to someone shouting something at them despite it being new age. They went back and forth, each putting up a fight because they weren’t going to let Bowers win this round.
It came to a close when he tried to take Eddie’s ring. The shorter male bought back, going so far as to land a punch right in Henry’s eye. That pissed him off enough to brandish the knife he always kept in the back pocket. He held onto Eddie’s hand tightly, threatening to cut off his finger and wear the ring around his neck as a souvenir.
At this point, it wasn’t worth it and Richie was shouting for Eddie to just give it up. The other assholes were holding him down, refusing to let him up to help Eddie.
Bowers licked the knife slowly, bringing the tip of it to Eddie’s face to teach him. In a swift move, Eddie jerked forward, kneeing Henry in the dick. The pain was enough to send a surge of angry through him and Bower buried the knife in Eddie’s face, cutting deeply into his cheek.
Eddie cried out, both in shock and pain, while Bowers decided to let the knife stay there as he punched the rest of Eddie’s face until his knuckles were bloody.
Richie thought it would end there. He thought they would be left beaten and bloody, but alive in the middle the street.
They couldn’t get that lucky.
Using the last bit of strength he had, Eddie muttered one final thought. “You should cut that fucking mullet. It’s been like twenty years, man.”
With that, Bowers offered one more blow before standing to his feet. He shouted for the others to come over and help him. They left Richie on the other side of the road to watch as they dragged Eddie over, to the wall of the bridge. And in one smooth move, they lifted him up and tossed him over into the river below.
Richie was left screaming, spitting out blood onto the road as Bowers and his gang drove away. Using whatever strength he had left, Richie pushed himself up, scooping his glasses from the ground, and hurried around to where the opening of the bridge led to the river. He tripped twice and fell first into the edge of the water, pushing himself up onto wobbly legs as he went deeper into the water and over to where Eddie was floating.
“Eddie. Eddie! Wake up, babe. Baby, wake up.” Richie muttered, rolling Eddie over so his face was out of the water.
His eyes were open and his neck was slack. Richie could think of countless times he had gazed into those eyes as a child, as a teen, as a man. No matter the situation, Eddie always seemed to have a wonderful glimmer there.
That glimmer was gone now and replacing it was nothing more than a vacant stare that went nowhere.
His face was mutilated and despite lying in the water for over three minutes, there was no washing the blood away. It stained his skin in the worst way, leaving him wet and icky.
He was completely unresponsive and while it was plain to see that he wasn’t dealing with shock or just fell contentious, Richie continued to hold onto him and mutter his name, rocking him slowly until someone above spotted and alerted the authorities.
Richie was treated for his wounds at the hospital while Eddie was taken away by the coroner. It still hadn’t hit Richie yet that this happened. That Eddie was dead. When he spoke to the hospital officials, they said a full autopsy hasn’t been done but their best guess was a broken neck and drowning.
They cleaned him up and stitched up any wounds he had, leaving him looking more like Frankenstein than anything. He called Mike, not knowing what else to do in this situation. And Mike called Stanley and Bill because this wasn’t something Richie should have to deal with alone.
When Richie tried to report the crime, however, he found himself being rebuffed.
“Henry Bowers couldn’t have done this,” The officer on call explained to him. “He’s on the force. He might be a hothead like his old man, but he wouldn’t break the law. He is the law.”
“Do you think I am fucking lying about this?” Richie practically screamed.
“You already said his dad was a hothead. What makes you think Bowers wouldn’t do this?” Mike challenged the officer.
“Because he is an officer. Now, unless you want to give me a real report, I suggest you deal with your own trouble.”
The officer walked away and the only reason why he didn’t straight up maul the officer was because of Mike holding him back.
“I haven’t even seen him!” Richie shouted to Mike, beginning to pace the hospital, having not seen Eddie since they arrived at the hospital. “I don’t even fucking know where he is.”
He was breaking down. He knew he was breaking down and there was no way to stop it. Richie wanted to fall to the ground and cry, not caring who saw him. He had just proposed. They were going to get married. They were going to look into adoption, they would have a family. Everything was going so fucking well for them and now it felt like the world was falling apart around them.
Mike ended up sweet talking one of the nurses into letting Richie see Eddie. He was given a five-minute window, which seemed cruel for a man who watched his lover died.
He laid on the slab completely still, eyes still wide open as he looked out over nothing. They washed away the blood, though the bruises still remained. There was no point in stitching him up, leaving the wound open on his cheese.
There was no denying it anymore. He wasn’t just frozen in the moment or in a vegetative state. Eddie Kaspbrak was dead and there was no going back.
Richie could only apologize so many times but he’d go on and on for as long as it took. He was so fucking sorry. Sorry that he let Penny fall from the window. Sorry that he fought with his mother to the point where she didn’t want him at her house. Sorry that he bothered to propose in public in such a fucked uptown.
Richie was just so fucking sorry.
All their plans were gone. All their hopes were gone. Eddie was gone.
But he didn’t have to be.
In the darkest part of Richie’s mind, he knew there had to be a way it would work. It worked on a dog, so why not a man? Anything was possible, right? And if it didn’t work, then at least then he would know and he could have closure. If it didn’t work then he’d confess to everything and they’d bury Eddie for real. They’d give him a proper burial and his mom would have Richie even more but that was fine.
It was worth a shot.
Stealing a body from a hospital wasn’t easy and he didn’t really know what to do once he slipped through the back door. He carried Eddie, wrapped up in the sheet from the hospital, all the way to the area that Mike had first taken him too. Richie had never been very strong, but he found the strength to take Eddie all the way up there.
He walked down the path and up the hill. He went passed the dead animals and into the circle. He found a place right in the middle and started digging. He dug, and dug, and dug until there was nothing left but a gaping hole.
He pulled Eddie into it, holding him for just a moment longer.
“Come back to me,” He muttered, laying him down in the dirt. “You fucking come back to me, you understand?”
Pulling himself out of the hole, Richie pushed all the dirt back on until Eddie was completely covered. Lightening light up the sky and rain began to fall down, though he carried on until the hole was complete. He walked back down the trail in a trance, stopping only when he found Mike at the bottom.
“I couldn’t find you,” Mike said, his voice low and shaking. He looked over Richie, seeing the dirt on his clothes and on his hands. “I couldn’t find you and I knew. Richie . . . whatever you did-”
“It’s done,” Richie told him simply, pushing passed him to continue ongoing down the lane.
“Whatever you think you did, it won’t work. Whatever returns to you, it won’t be Eddie!” Mike warned. He reached back, grabbing Richie’s arm to stop him from walking. “My grandfather had a friend, Rich. His son died overseas and he was so desperate to have him back-”
“It’s done, Mike!” Richie shouted to him, pushing him off. “The law won’t do anything, what other choice did I have?!”
Nobody would listen to Richie, nobody cared about what he had to say. He was just another gay man. Useless and pathetic. Wanting all the attention. There was no way they would believe him if he tried to bring this to outside police or even to court. An off duty police officer vs a homosexual.
There would have been proof. They found the knife that was plunged into Eddie’s cheek; it had the initials of Bower's father along the body of it. And it wasn’t like Richie could kick the shit out of himself and Eddie and still have the strength to push him over the bridge.
All the proof was there, but they still wouldn’t listen. Richie, in his desperation and depression, saw no real solution to this problem.
“Using a fucking Native American burial ground should have never been a choice!” Mike insisted.
“You showed it to be in the first place.”
“For your dog! Not your boyfriend!”
Richie’s eyes glazed over, his head shaking as his glasses became fogged up from the rain. “Eddie will come back. Just like Penny did.”
“It won’t end well, Richie,” Mike warned, but the other man wasn’t listening.
He just kept walking down the lane, all the way back to the townhouse.

have you ever violated school dress code? My Catholic school had us on a very tight leash and we’d have to be crazy to dare to break the dress code over there. My university doesn’t have a dress code though and anyone entering the campus can dress up any way they want, which I’ve always been grateful for. if you are listening to music, is the singer male/female? They are five dudes. what, if anything, do you give up for Lent? I never observed Lent; and as much of a religious fanatic my mother is, I’m glad she never forced me to fast or abstain from something I liked. what phrase leads your mind directly to the gutter? 69, even though it’s childish. when you feel like giving up, how do you convince yourself not to? I just tell myself that things will get better because that seems to be the pattern all the time with me, which is a really good thing.
what are your opinions on immigration? I don’t know much about the issues and its intricacies but as an Asian, I really admire fellow Asians who don’t speak a word of English, end up in the States or somewhere similar and build themselves a better life there. It’s fucking metal. would you tell an actual immigrant your views? Sure, if the topic is raised. what was the subject of the last list you made? There was a tweet asking people to list down which YouTubers practically ~raised them~ growing up, so I joined in the fun and gave my own names. If I remember correctly I listed down Pewdiepie, Smosh, Grace Helbig, Hannah Hart, and the entire Brit crew. do you ever get nervous before interviews/important meetings? Only if it’s supposed to be crucial. Like I imagine I’d be sweating bullets for my first job interview. who pays for the majority of your belongings? My parents. would you ever willingly shop in a thrift store? Of course. There are always some great finds in them. what is the most that you would ever spend on an outfit? Assuming I’m earning my own money, I’m willing to spend around ₱5000 to ₱10,000 on a top or bottom but I can widen my wallet a lot more if we’re talking shoes, because I like them more haha. is there anything you do that just outrages your parents? I know my mom hates it whenever she pulls us for online mass and I visibly grumble. I don’t know if my dad is annoyed with anything I do; and if he feels that way he’ll tell me. I respect him a lot more so if that’s the case, I’ll actually stop whatever it is I’m doing. when was the last time you were embarrassed in public? Probably when I was brought to the hospital a month ago and the nurse was explaining to me how to take a urine test.  have you ever won an award you were actually proud of? If Latin honors count, then yes. That was my only goal when I started college, and I reached it, so I’m allowing myself to be proud of, well, myself. the importance of education, rate it from 1-10, 10 as most important? 12. --- explain your choice to rate it as such? It’s different when you come from a third-world country. Education is realistically your only way out. what is the coolest science experiment you've ever done? I liked the ones that we did that involved chemicals and powders. are you experiencing difficulties with any friends right now? Not really. There’s a chance JM has been irritated with me because I always turn really grumpy when he messages me about work stuff, but if he is, at this point I don’t really care anymore because I’ve been detached from org work for a while now. I busted my ass for the org for three years so I think I’m entitled to feel detached now haha. how do you deal with a fight between yourself and a friend? I haven’t been in an argument with one of them in a while but I would prefer to talk it out. when you apologize to someone after a fight, how do you go about saying that you are sorry? I apologize and I mention the thing I did that they were hurt by, so that they feel acknowledged. In the end, I tell them that I’ll be better and if there’s anything I can do to make them feel better or to make the situation better, that they shouldn’t hesitate to let me know. have you ever played around with "dry ice"? No. Isn’t that dangerous lol? do you think parents are responsible for the actions of their children? For the most part, yes. But I know there are still some instances where parents can try and try to be understanding and be the best influences, but their kids will still end up going down the wrong path. There isn’t one answer to this, I think. should the military draft take both men AND women? why/why not? I don’t know, it’s a little complicated. I’m definitely all about equality and providing the same opportunities for men and women, but I know there’s a lot of issues on sexual harassment and assault in the military that have yet to be fixed. Until that’s ironed out and I hear change taking place, it seems a little shady to randomly pick out women to join the military.  when was the last time that you corrected someone? My mom had a grammatical error in her Facebook post from yesterday so I told her what the right word to use was. when was the last time you were corrected? I set the table for breakfast today and apparently it wasn’t enough for my mom, who liked her plate to be set in a certain way. when did you last say "i told you so"? Maybe when Kate told me she had broken up with the guy she was having a thing with, lol. is there any celebrity you like to "keep up with"? Not really. I think I’m over that phase now. I’ll check up my faves from time to time, but otherwise I don’t feel the need to read daily updates on them anymore. celebrity gossip: YAY or BOO? Yay if it has substance or if it’s controversial, like a celebrity being exposed for sexual harassment; boo if it’s something stupid like “Kendall Jenner spotted eating pasta today.” what is the most life-changing book you have read? I haven’t encountered it yet. have you had a negative impact on anyone's life? I would say so. I wasn’t always the nicest kid; and I also did a shitty job handling my friendship with Sofie when we were off to college. has anyone had a negative impact on yours? who/why? Yeah. Some relatives, some teachers who didn’t know how to act like teachers, and some people I distinctly remember that bullied me when I was a kid. how will you know when you are ready to get married? I guess when I’m no longer nervous thinking about it and when I’m already 100% sure that I’m independent and capable of looking out for myself. I don’t wanna be married and still be slightly dependent on my parents, which is what a lot of young Filipino married couples end up doing. how much time have you spent contemplating your own death? A very, very good amount. is there a joke that you just can't stand? Ones that you just can’t defend and are just simply offensive, like slavery or poverty. I’ve seen a few shows where they’d refer to the Philippines being poor or being a source of child labor for laughs, and they’ve never been funny to me. have you ever read any self-help books? No, I don’t really trust those lol since they’re usually written by people from other countries who most likely have different experiences and perspectives. If I need some help I’d rather figure it out myself and hear from people that I trust, like my friends. what's your take on the obesity problem in america? It’s a serious problem, obviously. I don’t know much about it other than the fact that Americans are crazy about their fast food and that their serving sizes are ginormous. I really hope they find more ways to address it. what is something you used to love, but now greatly dislike? Journalism. what is something you used to dislike, but now like? Chicken curry, and I think spicy food in general haha. when/if you become a parent, what will you do differently, compared to how your parents raised you? I’ll be more involved. I’ll compliment them more, not invalidate their feelings, and I’ll let them talk when I do something that upsets them, and I’ll apologize to them for it.
do you equate spanking with physical abuse? would you spank a child? The way Filipino parents do it, yeah especially. They don’t just do it with their hands - spanking kids here usually involve slippers and belts. My mom forbade anyone to spank me and my siblings, but nonetheless I watched it happen to my cousins and that alone was traumatic enough for me. How much more for them?
The thing is that it can’t be assumed that kids are able to process why they’re being punished, so I think that any physical punishment to them will just drive them away from their parents, which to me makes it physical abuse. I would never spank my own kids. what's the most ridiculous thing you've done this week? Skipping out the rest of my shower because a moth came into the bathroom and started flying around me lmaoooo eugh. --- did you regret it/love it/hate it/want to do it again/etc? I fucking hated it. if your bf/gf wanted to wait until marriage for sex, would you be willing? Yes. Sex honestly isn’t really a big deal to me. when you look at the sunset, what do you think about/feel? I don’t really think when I look at the sunset. I just admire how pretty it looks and savor the quick few seconds of the sun going down. is there someone you wish you could trust/you wish was trustworthy? No? I don’t wait on people to be trustworthy, if that’s what you mean. I’m grateful for the people who are already around me that I can trust. is there anyone that you no longer want in you life? who/why? There are times I wish I could get rid of my mom so that I don’t get yelled at as much anymore and so that I don’t have anyone watching my every move so much so that I’m cautious to walk around in my own house.
how has your outlook on life changed in the past few years? I’m a lot happier and more stable this time around. I’m glad I stayed around to see the change happen. have you ever walked out of a boring movie (in theaters)? Absolutely not. Even if the movie was bad, I’d watch it through the end. Ticket prices are not to be fucked with lol. how open are you with people you know online? ...What do you think? what do you think of athletes that take steroids? Idk about other sports but that’s a big fuck no in wrestling, after it’s led to addiction, overdoses, and a lot of deaths especially in the 80s and 90s. if a celebrity is involved in scandal after scandal, is that likely to affect how you view him/her & his/her work? Depends on the scandal. I don’t mind when nudes or videos get leaked because honestly, the leakers are the assholes in that situation. But if the scandal is something like people speaking out to accuse a celebrity of racism, abuse, or harassment, then I can very much turn against that person. what is one celebrity that you have zero respect for? Amber Heard. have you ever driven under the influence of alcohol/drugs? Just slightly tipsy, but I’ve always made sure that I’m super super super aware of my surroundings in those times. I won’t drive – and I know my friends won’t allow me to – if I was even just a little dizzy. I’m always the first to start sobering up when I go out to drink because I’m usually the only one with a car and thus responsible for bringing my friends home. are you overly attached to your material possessions? For the most part, yeah. have you ever ridiculed anyone for their clothing choices? Not to their faces. living in poverty: what do you think it'd be like? I already live in a country wallowing in it. My family isn’t poor, but I see poverty on a daily basis nonetheless. No documentary or article can best explain it to anyone who has never lived in a poverty-stricken country. Pretty insensitive question btw. what is one "diet" that you think is just utterly worthless? I’m not familiar with any of them. what advice would you give someone that is uncomfortable with his or her body/appearance? I prefer not to give advice because some people don’t wanna hear it and just wanna hear reassurances and boosters. That said, I’ll just keep encouraging them and telling them that they look really good in their outfit and just making them feel valid and seen. what advice would you give someone about to start high school? Don’t be scared to make mistakes and while you should always study hard and do your best, don’t take everything seriously. It’s high school and won’t matter on your professional resume.   what foreign food are you NOT interested in trying? Uhhhh this question makes no sense to me ahahaha I’m always down to try anything. what foreign country do you believe is misunderstood? I can’t speak for other countries but I know mine is pretty misunderstood. I’ve read countless testimonies of Filipinos getting condescendingly told “You speak good English for a Filipino” by white Americans, not knowing that their country conquered mine for 40ish years. That’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to misconceptons about my country and its people.    have you ever felt entirely unwanted and alone? Of course. in your eyes, which is worse: rape or murder? Both are equally bad and disgusting but I’ll have to go with rape, because 1) the victim has to live with the trauma and fear for the rest of their life, 2) victims are usually too scared to speak out for fear of being judged or not being believed, and 3) victim-blaming is still a big problem today. do you understand/read shakespeare? No. When we took up Shakespeare in high school I bought the No Fear versions. would you feel comfortable living with someone that owned a gun? No. do you know anyone that lives in a foreign country? Tons.

Life Needs Things to Live, Chapter Three
Class was going to be less of a struggle for Percy today.  Percy settled into his seat in his MW Lit class, one of his final core classes until he could fully focus on what he needed to graduate.  This was the only class he absolutely had to take at the university, something he couldn’t sub with community college classes for a much cheaper rate.
Only one thing made this class tolerable given the 8 AM start time and boring material.  He glued his eyes to the door, sipping his thermos of coffee, waiting patiently.  Finally, she floated in.
Long dark hair captured in a braid, the most beautiful smile he had ever seen, warm eyes that brought flames and autumn and the forest to mind.  She had a sharp and wickedly clever look to her face, joy radiating off every movement and gesture, unique to her very bones.  He adored how she wore blue feathers woven in her hair, how piercings lined her ears, how she emphasized her expressive eyes with perfect eyeliner, how she always had a giant zoology book under her arm.  She was beautiful and clever and just shone in the depressing classroom.
Fuck, he was pathetic and weird.  He really needed to get over his crush and focus on his life, not idolize some poor woman like she was his manic pixie dream girl.  Ugh.
Percy focused on his book, thinking about the two applications he had handed off yesterday. One to Gilmore, to work the counter in his coffee shop, the other to Keyleth for the apartment.  Hopefully, good things would come of it.  They both hinted that he would be accepted.
Maybe Asum could come visit soon, see Beau again.  It would be nice to see his old friend and savior.  To have something to celebrate rather than to mourn.
“Alright, class, we’re going to do a project instead of a final paper.  You’ll be working in assigned pairs to create a presentation and paper on a modern version of any classic novel and how it compares to the source material.  Your initial proposal is due to me in one week.  I’ll call out your assigned pairs now.”
Percy grimaced, praying he’d get someone tolerable that would do their share.  He couldn’t handle working with a freshman who left everything to him again.  He would commit murder.
“Percival and Vex’Ahlia.”
Wait, what?  He stared at Professor Shura blankly and she pointed to the back.  At his crush. Oh, shit fuck.  He was going to humiliate himself.
***
Vex stared at her notes, blanking out.  She hated core classes.  This English class was her absolute last one and it was a misery.  She wished she was out at the zoo or in a lab.  She only wanted to read what she wanted to read. Not this shit.  She sighed.
“Um, excuse me?”
She started and looked up, flushing at the quizzical brow and brilliant eyes on her.  The guy standing over her was hot.  White hair in a messy undercut, heavy brows, a strong yet elegant jaw.  It was the eyes that got her, though, blue as a winter sky and shining with intelligence. Vex easily mustered her most charming, most flirty smile for such a pretty guy.
“Yes, Darling?  How can I help you?”
The questioning frown lifted into a slight smirk, cocky and charming and matching his posh accent, one full and pale eyebrow going up, “Well, we’re partners on our final project according to the professor.”
“Project?”
“Oh, you checked out, too? Apparently we have to do a presentation comparing a classic novel to a modern adaptation while analyzing universal themes,” he rolled his eyes.  His unfairly pretty blue eyes, “And we have to work in pairs.”
“Shit!  I have labs to do! I thought this would just be a paper I could bullshit.”
“I was hoping for that as well,” he dropped into the seat next to her, looking unfairly comfortable in his formal slacks, a neat button up, and a tailored vest in royal blue. No tie, but he did have a black turtleneck underneath.  A little odd for a college student and very high class goth, but whatever.  He was still hot as shit.
“Vex’ahlia, but you can call me Vex.”
He tilted his head, chuckling, her knees going weak as the earrings up his ears sparkled in the fluorescent light of the classroom, “Percival de Rolo, Percy.”
“A pleasure to meet you, Percy Dear.”
“An even greater pleasure to meet you, Miss Vex’Ahlia,” he leaned forward with a charming smile, “So, exchange work and class schedules?  Find a time that works?”
“Schedules? You are a fancy one.”
“I have to plan every minute or I would crumble under the load,” she laughed as he pulled out an honest-to-goodness planner, “Yes, it’s color coordinated.  I was not joking about my life.”
“Okay, okay,” she giggled, grinning, “I get it.  Your girlfriend must keep you busy.”
“Oh-I-Uh-No,” Percy’s pale skin flushed and she noticed some light scarring around his eyes.  It almost looked like droplets, light pink against the lovely red of his cheeks, “I don’t have a girlfriend.  I just work two jobs, a double major with a minor, and a lot of responsibilities.”
“No girlfriend? Really?”
“N-no.  Oh, my phone is ringing!”
She barely held in her laughter at the Star Wars theme coming out of his backpack.  Vex ran her eyes over his profile, appreciating the fine jaw and strong nose, the disheveled hair and two-day scruff, the delicate metallic glasses that gave him a distinguished look only emphasized by his elegant outfit.  An outfit she could tell had seen quite a bit of wear judging by the precisely stitched repairs and fabric fade.  His phone was also an older model, older even than her three generations behind smart phone. So, he was posh but maybe not rich. Just particular about his clothing.
Damn, but he was a fine specimen of a man, his voice soft and refined and lovely.  She wanted to pin him down and see how far that lovely blush went.
“Oh, shit,” he sighed, looking absolutely devastated at whatever the person on the line was saying, “Well, good thing I put in a few applications.  It’s fine, ma’am, you don’t have the time to keep the place open anymore.  I had a feeling this was coming.  Take care and keep me updated.  I’ll be just fine.  You know me.”
He hung up and rubbed his temples, pushing the glasses up, “Sorry about that.  Former job.”
“That’s fine.  Are you okay?”
“Oh, I’ll be fine. This doesn’t even make the top ten of worst things to happen to me,” Percy smiled, but still looked strained, “So, free days?”
“Wednesday after 3 and all weekend except for Saturday morning.  Me and my housemates are interviewing a potential new renter.”
“Oh?  I’m inter-wait, do you live with Kiki?  Keyleth?”
“Yeah, I do!  Are you her Percy?”  Vex lit up at the prospect of getting to spend more time with him and leaned over to look at the organized but packed schedule.  Shit, he wasn’t kidding, “That’s an insane coincidence. She’s told us all about you and Beau. I work at a café just down the street from the house, Laina’s.  We could study there or at the house.  And you could bring Beau and Pepper along.”
“Honestly, that would be great.  I actually just put in an application at Laina’s,” Percy smiled back, “I really appreciate the offer.  You sure you don’t mind?”
“Only if you don’t mind my dog.”
“Deal,” he offered his hand with a wink, beaming, “I-Thanks.”
“Not a problem, handsome,” he flushed to his ears, those spots standing out once more against the red, blushing at her new nickname for him, “So, we can meet up around 4 at Laina’s and I’ll see you Saturday?  I see you’re free from 4 to 7 tonight.”
“I’ll be the one with the black Zemian Shepherd and small child.”
“Sounds great,” she winked, gathering her things, “I’ll see you then.  I need to get to my next class.”
“B-bye,” Percy was frozen, flushed, and staring at her like she was the most gorgeous thing in the world. She strode off with a confident swing to her hips, head held high, and a triumphant grin.  A study date with a handsome man and his babies.  Hopefully, she and Beau would get along.  Kids usually liked her.  Then, she could hunt down that sexy shy bastard.
But first…
She dialed Vax as soon as she was outside the building, knowing his first class wasn’t until noon and he was off this morning, biting her lip.
“What’s up, Stubby?”
“Morning, shitbird.  I met the potential roomie today.  He’s apparently in my lit class and we got assigned a project together.”
“You sound entirely too chipper for this early.”
“Well, he’s absolutely gorgeous and looks like a good guy.  He got fired while we were talking and didn’t even react.  Was just as pleasant as before the call.  I liked him,” Vax made a disbelieving snort, “Really! He color-coordinates his schedule. It’s absolutely adorable.”
“Are you thinking with your head?”
“Yes!  I promise, you’ll like him.  His phone is older than mine and he has definitely patched his clothes a few times.”
“Fine.  I’ll go a bit easier on him.”
“On that note, I’ll be studying at Laina’s tonight.  With him. While you’re working.  I’ll get Grog to walk me home.”
“Wait, what?”
She hung up with a smug smirk.  That would drive him crazy all day.

The not so secret diary of Gabriel Agreste
Because I needed some crack in my life. This is a gift for @geek-fashionista who requested my joke idea become a fic.
And because writing ridiculous Gabe content cheers me up and I needed a good pick me up. (Hopefully this will get me back in the mood to finish the next chapter of Cut from the Same cloth. If nothing else it felt good to really sit down and write again.)
Anyways- enjoy.
The not so secret diary of Gabriel Agreste
(Edited and catalogued by Nathalie Sancoeur)
March 18th
So apparently driving 4 employees to a nervous breakdown in the span of 2 weeks is a problem to my board of directors. They claim it’s ‘not good for the company’. Also, apparently, backhanding one of them during the meeting for suggesting I ‘take a leave of absence to deal with the loss of your wife’ counts as assault.
To avoid charges, and more importantly a forced sabbatical, I have agreed to see a therapist. Hence this ridiculous writing exercise.  Oh well. At least it is only one wasted hour a week as opposed to several months of sitting in my house, watching them drive my company into the ground with their ineptitude.
March 25th-
My therapist says that I have a problem.
Of course I have a problem! My wife is missing. Honestly, I have to pay this man?
He says that I need to be ‘focused on healing and rebuilding a new sense of normalcy instead of lashing out at the people around me.’
Well perhaps if the people around me weren’t so incompetent I wouldn’t need to lash out so much.
Nathalie- does it count as attending my therapy sessions if I send a proxy in my place? Please investigate.
March 30th-
My therapist has informed me that I am developing an obsession, and that he is concerned that the loss of my wife and my need to get her back is driving me to an unhealthy dissociative state.
Well maybe that’s why it is so important that I get her back. Did you ever think of that? Then I won’t need to waste my time adjusting to my new circumstances, because everything can just go back to the way it was. It’s really not that complicated. For someone whose job it is to ‘help me cope with my grief’ he is quite the pessimist. He keeps insisting we discuss the possibility of if she never comes back. Thank God these sessions are only an hour long, I don’t need to get charged with assault again.
April 1st-
I told my therapist that his advice was working and that I have completely seen the error of my ways.
And Nathalie says I have a terrible sense of humor.
The crushed look on his face when I pointed out the date was priceless.
Nathalie- make sure we are having fish for dinner, Adrien will appreciate the humor even if you don’t.
April 9th-
I had the portrait artist come in today so that we could replace the family portrait at the top of the staircase. I pre-selected our mourning ensembles and Adrien was miserable the whole time. The artist asked me if he should take some artistic licence with our expressions. I asked him if he valued his commission. The finished work was a perfect testament to the state of misery in this house. Hopefully this will serve as an adequate reminder to anyone who thinks it’s acceptable to attempt to inform me that ‘things are never as bad as they seem.’
My therapist says this is yet another sign of my increased megalomania. I think that it isn’t my fault that more people don’t have the resources to afford appropriate decor for their homes based on the emotional environment. Given what I am having to pay out for these worthless sessions I wouldn’t be surprised if he has a half dozen portraits of his own scattered around some poorly decorated eyesore he calls a home.
Nathalie- please arrange for some new backlighting for the updated portrait. Either some cool blue tones or perhaps some purple.
April 14th-
Today my therapy session consisted of discussing my childhood. On the bright side I sketched out two new designs while I tuned out his prattle.
Nathalie- you owe me 20 Euro. I told you it would take less than a month for him to try the Freudian approach.
April 21st-
Yesterday was the runway launch of the new Spring line. Not some of my best work to be honest but still a far sight better than anything else released this season. Maybe the Italians will give me some competition this year at least.
One of the reporters asked if the line was being dedicated to my ‘late wife’. I ask him if he was going to dedicate this interview to his soon to be late career?
Of course Adrien heard the whole thing and has been in a mood ever since, although he didn’t let it affect his performance. Even as a child, he is more professional than a fair percentage of my staff. I am prodigiously proud of him. Now if only he would stop being so emotional. It isn’t good for him. He spent the entire morning and afternoon holed up in his room listening to angst ridden J-pop and ordering mint fudge ice cream from the kitchen staff.
My therapist says that I need to be making an effort to empathize with his grief instead of fixating on my own, and compensate more in my new role as a single parent.
Clearly the stress of this show has addled my brain because I stupidly attempted to follow his advice.
After a pre-scheduled family dinner I patted Adrien on the shoulder and told him that I promises that things will get better.
He stared at me for a few seconds like I had grown a second head, before hugging onto me like a barnacle and bursting into tears.
Wonderful.
I managed to send my own child into hysterics.
This is the sort of disaster that comes from listening to the advice of idiots.
April 22nd-
Adrien seems to have recovered from last night’s meltdown rather admirably. Thank God children bounce back from these sorts of setbacks. I am glad to see that my poor judgement in following my therapist's advice doesn’t seem to have caused any permanent damage. Now I can go back to the important business of figuring out how to bring his mother back instead of wasting everyone’s time with pointless platitudes. Really that is the much smarter approach.
It’s like I tell my employees- if you just fix the mistake you won’t have to spend your energy explaining why it was there in the first place. No one will care how many failures you went through to get there- all that matters is the end result.
Speaking of failures, what was I thinking when I chose the dining room furniture? It’s hideous.
Nathalie- remind me to set aside time to purchase a new dining set.
April 30th-
She has been gone for exactly 100 days.
May 9th-
Today is my 20th Wedding anniversary.
It was storming today. My therapist asked me how that made me feel.
I told him- wet.
I don’t think he appreciated my answer.
May 12th-
I have fired my therapist.
No the answer to my problems is not to ‘move on and accept my loss and just be grateful for each new day.’ What sort of idiotic attitude is that? If I approached my life according to the advice of this degenerate I would be designing pink sequins party dresses for some mass produced tween fashion label. Even worse, the toad-faced troll had the audacity to suggest that I should consider arranging for Adrien to have his own therapy sessions. As if my child needs any sort of support from a second rate psychoanalyst with delusions of grandeur.
Good riddance. Besides, 2 months of this charade should be more than enough to satisfy the board.
Nathalie- make arrangement for a private investigator to look into his business. Perhaps we can do the world a favor and get his licence revoked.
May 14th-
I have decided to keep this diary. I find writing about the stupidity of others quite therapeutic.
Nathalie please find a more appropriately color coordinated journal in which to properly transcribe my entries.
May 17th-
I have hired a bodyguard for Adrien. He keeps trying to sneak out, and I can’t keep losing Nathalie for hours at a time while she chases him down. I don’t understand why he is so desperate to go out and meet other people. Hasn’t he figured out by now that very few people are actually worth meeting? Clearly the stress of losing his mother is clouding his judgement. I’ll arrange for Nathalie to get a few more of those arcade machines he enjoys so much to be shipped in. Hopefully that will help keep him distracted.
Meanwhile, perhaps I should up his modeling engagements. After all, throwing oneself into one's work does provide some temporary solace. It’s certainly the best plan I have come up with so far.
May 22nd-
Adrien’s new Bodyguard has caught him attempting to sneak out twice. Both times he sent me a text informing me that the incident had been taken care of and requesting an appropriate stipend for the installation of new security cameras.
This is clearly the best hiring decision I have made in years.
Adrien may be the closest thing to perfection in this world but alas, children will be children, so I am glad I have some competent staff to manage him until he grows out of it. I believe this teenaged need to rebel in light of our recent family tragedy is what the media refers to as ‘Emo’. I will make some calls to the main office to have more of our black pieces added to his wardrobe. And my ex therapist said I ‘wasn’t paying attention to my sons needs.’ Ha.
June 3rd-
Still no progress in my plan. This morning I woke up from a dream and I couldn’t remember if that is what my wifes laugh actually sounded like.
I can’t live like this. I won’t live like this.
June 5th-
Nathalie I will take dinner in my office. Also I am not to be disturbed for the rest of the weekend.
June 10th-
Feeling infinitely better today.
It has been uncovered that my recently disgraced ex-therapist was having an affair, and with a former patient no less! Clearly he was taking out his own frustrations with his own failed marriage out on me.
Unlike that hypocritical cow, I will preserve my family no matter what impediments I may face. I knew I was right all along. Still, it’s nice to have outside validation.
Nathalie- be sure to send a sizable bonus to the private investigator, as well as a nice fruit basket.
June 17th-
Adrien had a piano recital today. It was exceptional of course. I do wish he had chosen something other than Chopin. Really, is this emo phase going to carry over into everything he does?
I will have to send a message to his bodyguard to start monitoring his packages for hair dye.
Apparently he didn’t approve of me leaving as soon as his piece was over. I don’t see why. It’s not like I have any interest in the other performers and I already paid my admission so it’s no loss to the institution. Children can be so demanding.
Nathalie- make a note, the next time I am required to attend one of these functions make sure I have a tablet with me.
June 23rd-
Why have I still not replaced that dining room table?
July 2nd-
On the plane to London because apparently the instructions “just recreate the exact same show we did a month ago” are too complicated for my employees.
I am doubly glad that I hired a bodyguard for Adrien since he is ill and will not be joining us on this trip.
Hopefully I shouldn’t be gone more than a day or so.
July 6th-
Still in London. Apparently I underestimated just how moronic people can be. I miss my wife. She always knew how to get people to do what I needed them to do with causing them to burst into tears.
She also would have appreciated my puns.
Once I get her home I swear I am going to reward myself with an entire month of not having to speak to anyone whose surname isn’t Agreste.
Except for Nathalie, of course.
July 10th-
Finally home. Adrien has made a full recovery.
He spent all of dinner expounding on the merits of something called ‘MOBA’s. I’ve found it best to just nod and pretend like I understand what he is talking about when he goes on these tangents.
Nathalie- please get me the definition for the term Noob.
July 15th-
I am truly at my wits end. Between my lack of progress on my search for my wife and my constant set backs at the company I am for all intents and purposes trying to go up a creek without a paddle.
Nathalie is less than thrilled with me at the moment as I have taken to locking myself in the office with my cellphone and computer turned off. She doesn’t seem to appreciate having to slide notes under the door.
July 22nd-
Nathalie Sancoeur is the only person to whom I am not related by blood or marriage whom I would make an effort to save during a zombie apocalypse. (Adrien’s current favorite pastime is discussing how he would react to various ridiculous survival scenarios with his bodyguard, or more accurately at his bodyguard.)
She suggested that given my frustrations with some of my staff perhaps some personnel changes were in order.
There is nothing quite so satisfying as telling  a worthless employee that they should pack up their desk and go.
I am quite confident that none of the individuals fired today would survive a zombie apocalypse.
Nathalie- please give yourself a 2% raise. It might come in handy for purchasing supplies when we are under siege by an army of the undead.
July 28th-
Adrien had his friend Mllm Bourgeois over again today. He has asked if he can be allowed to attend public school with her this term.
I told him that if Miss Bourgeois is an example of the merits of a public school education I would sooner be tarred and feathered than let him within 50 feet of said institution.
He seems to believe that going to school would allow him the opportunity to make new friends- so I suppose I can at least see the appeal. Though, after observing his interactions today I am amazed he doesn’t simply swear off friendship altogether.
Nathalie- look into putting together some sort of dossier of suitable young people with whom Adrien could potentially associate. Perhaps we can arrange to have some on call for social engagements in the future.
July 29th-
Adrien is not speaking to me today. He has locked himself in his room. Why is everyone in this family so sensitive?
Apparently ‘you can’t just buy friends.’
Clearly he has never been involved in politics.
August 2nd-
Adrien is still angry at me. Fine, if he wants to get into a petty game of who can ignore the other longer I will play his game. He’ll learn that no one beats me when it comes to the silent treatment, just like his mother did. The most she ever made it was 3 days. We will see if Adrien fairs any better.
August 3rd-
Upon further reflection, at the end of those three days I ended up with a broken nose when my wife punched me in the face. Perhaps I should rethink my strategy.
Nathalie- schedule a family meeting to discuss Adrien’s grievances. Tell him it will save time if he prepares a list of his complaints and proposed solutions for me to consult before the start of the negotiations.
August 6th-
Adrien is visiting with his friend Mllm Bourgeois so I am taking the opportunity to go through and organize my wife’s belongings. (The staff has been forbidden from disturbing anything but it is starting to get a bit dusty.) It is best to do this while Adrien is gone as I don’t know if I can tolerate another weekend of melancholy foreign ballads blasting from his room. Or worse that new Jagged Stone album I was foolish enough to order for him as a reward for winning his last fencing competition. I swear that man sounds like a beached whale screaming its way through a slow and agonizing death. I don’t know what Adrien sees to admire in it.
At least his attempted breakouts seem to have come to a temporary halt. Either the efforts of his bodyguard have finally tempered his resolve or he is secretly plotting some sort of elaborate scheme and is trying to lure us into a false sense of security.
I guess we will see how much he takes after me.
Nathalie- make sure all of Adrien’s electronic devices are equipped with GPS tracking.
August 8th-
Still slowly working my way through the cleaning process. The latest edition of some video fighting game arrived for Adrien so he has been conveniently occupied by that. It’s getting harder to face him knowing that I am still no closer to having an answer as to how to get his mother back, not that he asks. He has always been far too kind for his own good.
Still, it is a parent’s job to do what is ultimately best for their children and for the first time in my life I find myself spectacularly failing.
No matter how many hours I spend locked in my office I am still no closer to a concrete plan.
At least Adrien has stopped trying to accompany when I am in there. It’s too hard enough coping with my own failure without my son having to bare witness.
I will figure out a way. I did not get where I am today without being willing to fight for what I want. And once I am successful all of this will just seem like a bad dream. Both for me and for my son.
August 9th-
I never realized just how much of a hoarder my wife was until I took on this project. How many souvenirs does one woman need?
There is an entire suitcase from our last trip to Tibet that she didn’t even bother to unpack.
I’ll take care of it tomorrow.
Nathalie- reschedule my lunch with the mayor. Until after the election if at all possible. 4 months isn’t an unreasonable delay for a man with my obligations.
August 10th-
It seems that there is some truth to the concept that one should actually OPEN the boxes one acquires. I now have in my possession a strange magical creature named Nooroo who seems optimistic in his belief that he can help me in my quest to restore my family. It seems I will have the chance to turn into some sort of super powered empath with the ability to grant powers to others to help combat the forces of evil in this world. Seems like a rather dubious power. Most people are insufferably dim and couldn’t be trusted with a butter knife much less magical enhancements. Still, it is the first positive news in months. I tried opening the other box with the peacock pin but after 10 seconds of the creature crying upon being awakened I have decided to simply return it to dormant and lock it in the safe. Perhaps it will be useful later but for now one miraculous should be more than sufficient.
Nathalie- In light of my new associate we will need a few changes to the house. Additional security, new curtains,  as well as some additions to the kitchen inventory. I will upload a list to your PDA.
August 12th-
And Everyone told me I would never have a use for a secret lair. Well I showed them. I have asked Nathalie to arrange for a large shipment of butterflies to be installed for ambiance. I have also brought in a private contractor to hide the control panel. The last thing I want in for Adrien to stumble upon any of this and get the idea to become some sort of hero vigilante. Honestly I don’t know where that boy gets his ridiculous flair for the dramatic. It must be from his mother. Meanwhile I have decided to keep Nooroo dormant for a little while. He keeps wanting me to talk to him about my feelings. If I wanted to do that I wouldn’t have fired my therapist.
August 20th-
Lair is finally ready to go. I realize though that perhaps I should read the instruction manual that came with the miraculous before I attempt to utilize unpredictable magical powers.
Nathalie- please arrange for a large pot of coffee and my favorite armchair to be placed in the lair this afternoon.
August 30th-
Apparently translating ancient codes with no resources or starting point whatsoever is, in fact rather difficult. I supposed I should ask Nooroo for assistance.

Baby Daddy Part 3 - Tyler Seguin series
Pairing: Tyler Seguin x Reader
Mentions: -
Word count: 1594
A/N: I mention the All Stars Game of 2015, idk why. I hope you will like this imagine. Please check out my masterlist. Feel free to requests, the updates will be slow because I’m starting school soon or I already started it.
Chapter Three
The evening of the All-Stars Draft got around so you were brushing your hair in the bath room until someone knocked on the door. You heard a little thump and little feet running to the door. “Daddy!”, you heard Tristan squeal, making you smile. You walked out the bathroom and saw Tyler in a nice suit. He looked very handsome. He had big smile plastered on his face while he crouched down to Tristan’s level. Tristan was wearing Tyler’s Stars jersey. “Nice jersey, buddy.”, Tyler said ruffling the toddler’s hair. “Shouldn’t you be going to venue by now?”, he asked looking at his fancy watch. “Yeah, but this little one was giving me a hard time dressing.”, you said while Tyler was walking towards you. He grabbed your hands and placed a kiss on both of them. You blushed at him. “I’ll see you later?”, he asked hopefully. “Yes, sure. I have to interview you.”, you said winking at him. You felt something tugging at your shirt. You looked down and saw Tristan standing there. “Mommy, can we leave?”, he asked excitingly. He looked like he really wanted to see his Daddy on stage. “Alright buddy. Grab your coat and we’ll leave.”, you said. Tyler stole a quick kiss from you, leaving you wide-eyed. You grabbed everything you needed and walked downstairs to the lobby. “I’ll take you with me, if that’s okay? The car seat’s still in my car though.”, Tyler said. “Yeah, sure.”, you answered, with Tristan tugging you at your arm. Tyler hated it when he had a driver, he’d rather drive himself to events.
You got at the venue and said goodbye to Tyler. He went to the red carpet with Tristan, looking for his agent while you went to the press area where you could interview the All-Stars. You interviewed a lot of the players, asking some additional questions for your sports column. When you were done with the interviews, you got inside. You got a text from Tyler saying he left Tristan with Roberto Luongo’s wife Gina because he had to go backstage. You walked in the venue and went to the front of the stage. “Mommy!”, you heard a certain toddler yell. He ran towards you. “Woah, I had so much fun with Daddy!”, he squealed. You smiled at him and ruffled his hair. “You must be Y/N?”, Gina asked you. “Yes, hello. Not many people know about me and Tyler.”, you said, scratching the back of your head. “I understand it, we will not talk about it outside this event.”, she said comforting you.
Even though you regularly post pictures of you and Tristan, Tyler didn’t. He did post a lot of pictures about Marshall and little Cash – his dogs – but not Tristan. You didn’t dare to ask him about it but you thought it was to keep his reputation up – even though that apparently changed when he brought Tristan to the Red Carpet with him.
“Thank you very much.”, you said relieved. You sat down in your seat next to your brunette son. The show started and you got your notebook out. When your son heard his father’s name being said over the microphone he got very excited. “Yeah, Daddy!!”, he screamed making you very happy. You saw him come on stage looking very professional and handsome. You saw him looking in the crowd – when he found your eyes a wide smile plastered on his face. The show went on for a long time. You saw Tristan bobbing his head a few times, eventually falling asleep on your lap. In between you would receive texts from Tyler too. Sneakily sending text messages as he sat on stage. At first you would ignore them but then he would spam you making you answer him because it got annoying.
You were thinking about what happened yesterday. He was so nice and good with Tristan, you actually never see them in action together. He was so gently with you and he really wanted to be friends or even more with you. You definitely didn’t want to be friends with benefits again. You looked beside you at the result of that relationship. If he really wanted to be with you he had to commit to you. You were thinking about what he said. Did he really change? Did he really want to be with you? You decided you didn’t want to risk it for Tristan. It would be too confusing if he would see his parents together-together, definitely if it would be an on-and-off-relationship. You just want to best for Tristan –  you thought trying to convince yourself. It was hard to do it but you finally convinced yourself.
When the draft ceremony was over you went backstage with Tristan in your arms. Tyler was looking for you and took over Tristan from you so you could take more statements from him and the players. You got some looks from other reporters when they saw that. This will definitely be on the internet tonight, you thought to yourself. Tyler saw your concerned look. “I don’t care, Y/N.”, he said before placing a kiss on your forehead. When you got your statements you walked to the parking lot with Tyler walking before you. You were lost in thoughts, rethinking about what you were going to do. “You okay there, Y/N?”, he asked concerned, waiting for you so he could put his arm around your shoulders. “Yes, just a little tired.”, you said lying to him. The car ride back to the hotel was quiet. He had put his hand on your thigh, you didn’t dare to put his hand away. It would make him suspicious even though that’s already happening. You close your eyes to fight back some tears, you were so conflicted on what you think is best or what you really desire – this means being with Tyler. A few tears fell over your cheeks. “Y/N, what’s wrong?”, he asked concerned. You wiped them away and cleared your throat. “Nothing. I’m just really tired, you know I cry when I’m tired.”, you said chuckling. “That’s true.”, he said, occasionally looking at you. “But that is not what’s wrong with you. How long do we know each other? You have tried that trick on me before but it doesn’t work anymore.”, he said – sounding like a dad now. “Okay Dad, I’m now the one thinking about how you’re good with Tristan and about us.”, you said referring about what he said yesterday. You saw that he rolled his eyes at the first and questioned the latter. “I don’t know if I can be with you again. I’m just afraid to get hurt again. I have a steady job back in Raleigh, I can’t just go quit it and join you in Dallas. The advantage in Toronto for me are my parents and even your parents, they can take him when I need too. I just don’t want to confuse Tristan, like if we would pursue our relationship again and it could turn out to be an on-and-off relationship.”, you said out of breath. You noticed Tyler swerving into a parking spot on the side of the road. “What are you doing?”, you asked confused. He turned around to face you and grabbed your hands. “That was a lot to take in. You were cropping that up for a while haven’t you?”, he asked chuckling. You blushed at the comment. “Yeah, that’s why I was avoiding you.” “Okay, I know what I’m asking could be life changing for Tristan and also for you. For me, you don’t have to pursue a relationship with me if you don’t feel comfortable with it. We could start as just friends but just visit me in Dallas and just see first-hand how I’m not like the guy I used to be in Boston anymore. I just want you to be as comfortable as possible with me. I just miss our friendship, it’s like I was a stranger this past year and a half. I miss the silly you with the corny jokes and the caring you when someone would hurt himself.”, he said with a serious face. You couldn’t believe what he just said, it made you cry even more. He wiped the tears away. “Don’t cry. I don’t like to see you cry.”, he said sadly. “I’m sorry. I just can’t believe you said that. Why are you like this Tyler?”, you said confused. “Because I love Tristan and I love you. Like a lot”, he said. “To the moon and back, like a thousand times.”. This made you chuckle, it was something you would say when you were together while you were pregnant. You just couldn’t say it back to him. He knew that, because he let go of your hands and started the engine of the car again.
You got back to the hotel and he led you back to your hotel room – holding Tristan in his arms. He put Tristan in pajamas and tucked him in. He turned to you, engulfed you in a hug and placed a kiss on your forehead. “I’ll see you tomorrow at breakfast?”, he asked, looking down at you like nothing happened in the car. “Okay.”, you said with a small voice. He left your room, leaving you like a mess. You started crying again. You went to the bathroom and took off your makeup. You got undressed and put on some pajama’s. You crawled into your bed and the second your head hit your pillow you fell asleep.

What Companies Are Telling Employees About the Coronavirus

The coronavirus corporate breakdown
President Trump said yesterday that Vice President Mike Pence would coordinate the government’s response to the coronavirus. Despite mounting criticism, the president has played down the danger of a widespread U.S. outbreak, the NYT reports. Stocks are down again today, with U.S. futures suggesting that a sixth consecutive daily decline awaits. Wall Street strategists say the situation could get worse before it gets better. Yet shares in companies that cater to people staying home are outperforming — think disinfectants (Clorox), canned food (Campbell Soup), exercise equipment (Peloton) and videoconferencing tools (Zoom) — as are others like drug makers developing vaccines (Gilead) and gold miners who dig up the stuff hoarded by people freaked out about the economy (Newmont Mining). Companies are restricting travel and sending workers home, and rapidly reducing their expectations for sales at any business that relies on China as a buyer or supplier. (Microsoft is one of the latest to sound the alarm.) Quarantines and travel bans are particularly bad for deal makers who rely on in-person schmoozing, with bankers prevented from meeting clients. The problem goes beyond Asia — although it’s especially acute there. We’ll get a better view of the economic impact soon, and analyst forecasts for data releases due in the coming days are all over the place. Chinese officials are under pressure to rev up factories and get workers moving again, while some European authorities are questioning the region’s open-border policies. In a WSJ opinion piece, Kevin Warsh, a former Fed governor who is considered a front-runner to lead the U.S. central bank if Mr. Trump is re-elected, floated the idea for a coordinated global series of rate cuts to “make the most of scarce policy ammunition.” For more on the coronavirus — much, much more — subscribe to the NYT’s new Coronavirus Briefing email, with the latest developments and expert advice on prevention and treatment.
What about Bob?
In an industry obsessed with blockbusters, Disney’s choice for its next C.E.O., Bob Chapek, lacks star power. Mr. Chapek, the company veteran who currently runs its theme parks and cruise ships, is largely unknown in much of Hollywood, the NYT’s Brooks Barnes reports. Getting to know Bob C., as he’s called within Disney: Although he isn’t a fixture in TV and movie circles — unlike his charismatic predecessor, Bob Iger — Mr. Chapek isn’t as surprising a choice to take over the House of Mouse as it may seem. Retail titans are big fans, stemming from Mr. Chapek’s stints as head of Disney’s DVD and consumer products businesses. This is a good sign for Disney as it pivots to selling content directly to consumers via its nascent streaming service instead of relying on cable networks. Updated Feb. 26, 2020 What is a coronavirus? It is a novel virus named for the crownlike spikes that protrude from its surface. The coronavirus can infect both animals and people and can cause a range of respiratory illnesses from the common cold to more dangerous conditions like Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome, or SARS. How do I keep myself and others safe? Washing your hands frequently is the most important thing you can do, along with staying at home when you’re sick. What if I’m traveling? The C.D.C. has warned older and at-risk travelers to avoid Japan, Italy and Iran. The agency also has advised against all nonessential travel to South Korea and China. Where has the virus spread? The virus, which originated in Wuhan, China, has sickened more than 80,000 people in at least 33 countries, including Italy, Iran and South Korea. How contagious is the virus? According to preliminary research, it seems moderately infectious, similar to SARS, and is probably transmitted through sneezes, coughs and contaminated surfaces. Scientists have estimated that each infected person could spread it to somewhere between 1.5 and 3.5 people without effective containment measures. Who is working to contain the virus? World Health Organization officials have been working with officials in China, where growth has slowed. But this week, as confirmed cases spiked on two continents, experts warned that the world was not ready for a major outbreak. • Doug McMillon, Walmart’s C.E.O., said, “Bob has always been someone we can trust to deliver on what he says.” • Brian Cornell, Target’s chief, said Mr. Chapek had a “deep understanding of what Disney fans really love about their brand.” Brooks wraps it up for us: The timing of the announcement feels suspicious to a lot of people. Something else has to be afoot, right? But everyone I talked to inside and outside of the company, including people who are not fans of Bob Iger (they exist), insisted that nothing prompted this beyond a need to get succession moving — Disney’s annual meeting is March 11 — and that the handoff is less abrupt than it seems at first blush. Mr. Iger is not going anywhere for another 22 months. Full stop. He will be overseeing all of Disney’s “creative endeavors,” which is basically everything that really matters, as executive chairman. Bob Chapek essentially has training wheels on for the next two years. Why not just elevate Mr. Chapek to chief operating officer or president, two jobs that currently don’t exist at Disney and would signal that he is the heir apparent? Because that has not worked out particularly well for Mr. Iger in the past. He chose that route for Thomas O. Staggs, who ended up leaving the company in 2016. It’s really hard to shine when you have no direct reports and a larger-than-life boss. People also forget that Mr. Iger’s run as president of Disney under then-C.E.O. Michael Eisner was torturous at times. Mr. Iger sometimes found himself undercut by division leaders, who would go straight to Mr. Eisner. By making Mr. Chapek chief executive right out of the gate, that kind of end run is harder.
The head of SoftBank’s Vision Fund is in the hot seat
Tensions among several of SoftBank’s senior executives are well known. But a striking new WSJ report on alleged efforts by the head of its Vision Fund, Rajeev Misra, to discredit internal rivals is on another level. The WSJ reports that an associate of Mr. Misra’s tried to spy on rivals, including by obtaining and then leaking private bank statements. One purported scheme involved trying to entrap an executive in a sex scandal. A representative for Mr. Misra told us: “These are old allegations which contain a series of falsehoods that have been consistently denied. Mr. Misra did not orchestrate a campaign against his former colleagues.” But a spokeswoman for SoftBank said the company would be “reviewing the inferences made by The Wall Street Journal.”
How Reddit traders are moving markets
Common wisdom is that individual investors have no hope of beating institutional money managers. But Luke Kawa of Bloomberg Businessweek reports on how traders on Reddit’s freewheeling WallStreetBets forum — who go by names like “yolo_tron” — are changing the game. What they’re doing: swamping the market with call options, hoping to force market makers to buy the underlying stock, and exponentially increasing the value of those options (which give them the right to buy stocks at a fixed price). The big idea: The do-it-yourself traders of r/WSB are waging a kind of guerrilla warfare in the markets, trying to exploit what they see as weaknesses in the system to move prices where they want them. For anyone who wondered about where the small day traders who made the 1990s so wild went, meet the 2020 version. After years of indifference, individual investors seem to be finding their way back to stocks, for better or worse. They’re flexing muscles in ways that can easily call to mind excesses from the dot-com era.
Mulvaney says immigrants get the job done
Many Trump administration policies are aimed at restricting immigration. But at a private event in Britain last week, the acting White House chief of staff, Mick Mulvaney, said that immigrants were key to America’s future growth, according to the NYT’s Jeanna Smialek and Zolan Kanno-Youngs. “We are desperate, desperate for more people,” Mr. Mulvaney told a crowd, according to an audio recording given to The NYT. “We are running out of people to fuel the economic growth,” he added — though he said he wanted more immigrants only in a “legal” fashion. Although President Trump has described the country as “full,” slow population growth in the native-born U.S. work force means immigration will be needed to propel the economy. Immigrants accounted for about half of the labor force’s expansion over the past two decades.
Sandberg on Facebook: We’re not selling your data
In an interview with NBC’s new Byers Market podcast, Sheryl Sandberg of Facebook outlined the tech giant’s plan to defend itself against rising public skepticism and political inquiries. • “There is growing concern, which is based on a lack of understanding, that we are using people’s information in a bad way — we are selling it, we are giving it away, we are violating it. None of that’s true. We do not sell data.” • “Here’s what we do: We take your information and we show you personalized ads,” she said, in order to give users “a much better experience.” OK, but ... “I’m going to give a big speech next month,” Ms. Sandberg said. “And I’m working on an op-ed. We need to go out and explain the business model clearly.” We’ll see.

The next morning after a maximum of 3 hours sleep, you dabbed on some concealer to hide bags under your eyes and got dressed. Hopefully you could blame your ‘illness’ on not looking your best. Once you arrived, it seemed you didn’t have to worry. Apparently Nat was a little too good at telling the story that you’d been sick. When you walked into work, everyone was shocked that you were “up and around” so soon. It was like you had the plague or something.
Assuring everyone you were fine, the office was back to business as usual. However, partway through your first day back, a mission report update arrived from Steve. Upon seeing the email, your breath quickened with a twist of your still-tender heart. You sought refuge in the bathroom until the pain in your chest subsided and tears dried.
The rest of your week passed without incident, the only unusual being your lack of visiting the gym. Even without Steve there, too many memories lingered. You kept yourself distracted by catching up on work and spending time with the other Avengers. That weekend, you actually made an effort to go out with friends and socialize. The pain in your chest still lingered, but less sharply than before.
As Monday rolled around, though, there was a different sore of ache within you that couldn’t be placed. Midday approached, and you realized it: you missed being in the gym. So much time spent pushing your body to its limits, finding your strengths and weaknesses and then collapsing in bed that night sore but feeling accomplished. Thinking back all those months ago, you remembered that Steve Rogers was not the reason you started training. He was there from the beginning but you came for your own reasons. You just needed to find those again. Checking in with Maria first, you then grabbed your gym bag you kept in the office and headed out.
Squaring your shoulders to face the punching bag, you felt your gloved hands pound the heavy leather, a satisfying smack reverberating through the gym each time. A bead of sweat trickled down your back and you could feel the soreness in your muscles build after being away the past week. Finding yourself in the zone, it took a few moments before the gym’s raised noise levels registered in your mind. Looking around, you saw the three Avengers had returned from their mission victorious, tired smiles on their dirt and soot covered faces while others congratulated them. Sometimes they preferred to clean up in the locker room rather than traipse their muck-covered boots and otherwise soiled gear into their own rooms.
You saw Steve’s adorable helmet hair almost immediately and his bright blue eyes caught your gaze. Your heart did a strange flop in your chest, as if it had forgotten how to behave. He gave you a smile and raised a hand in greeting, which you returned. You didn’t have a smile for him just then, though, still conflicted in your feelings. Turning back toward the punching bag, you paused a moment before resuming your punches. Next came a light run on the treadmill followed by some stretching and you called it a day.
That evening, your phone chimed as you got ready for bed.
Hey, Y/N! Glad to see you’re recovered. Up for a training session tomorrow?
The flutter in your stomach had returned, heart still uncertain. Thumbs poised over the screen, you finally pecked out a reply.
The question is, are you? I think you’ve earned a day off.
Those three dots appeared as he typed, reply popping up quickly.
Nah, I’m good. Plus I hear you’ve been slacking off. ;)
A small chuckle escaped you at the Captain’s use of an emoji, even surprising yourself. Lowering your phone, you considered it. Steve was still offering to train you, probably because he had no idea you had fallen for him, and just because he really was an amazing guy. You couldn’t fault him for unknowingly breaking your heart. You alone had fallen with no one to catch you, but he wasn’t to blame for that. And when it really came down to it, even after all you had been through…you missed him. Seeing him today even for those few seconds, you felt better than you had for over a week.
Was it possible? Could the cause of your pain also be the unexpected healing of it? Steve still carried that light within him, a warmth that had been lacking since you’d last seen his handsome face. A sunless, grey sky was what your life had become until he glanced your way once again. The question was…could you handle being around him again? Was your heart strong enough? How much worse could it be? You’d rather not have that last question answered, but feeling brave, you typed a quick answer and hit send.
I’ll be there.
__________
What have I done With my heart on the floor I must be out of my mind To come back begging for more
The following afternoon, you took a deep breath before passing through the gym doors. Steve caught your eye and waved you over toward the free weights, smile upon his gorgeous face. If you were going to do this, then he’d have to stop it with the dimples because damn, he was adorable. As you got closer though, you saw a small cut to his right cheekbone, concern furrowing your brow.
“Hey, Y/N.”
“Steve, what happened?” you asked, raising a hand to touch him, but then pulling back self-consciously.
His fingers brushed the nearly healed scrape, “This? It was nothing. Ready to get back to work? You were looking good, coming up against the punching bag yesterday. Your form has come a long way.”
Silent a moment, you considered his response. While your concern for his wellbeing was genuine, you needed to realize that you weren’t the person that he would talk about the details of his missions with. You had hoped to be that person once upon a time, the one he talked to about everything, but you now knew it wasn’t meant to be. Seeing him again and knowing that he would never be anything more than a friend to you…it hurt. Not as the initial rejection had, but more like someone was firmly pressing against a bruise. It was a reminder of what you already knew but it would still take time for you to move on. Hopefully.
As Steve had said, you were his friend. Couldn’t you just let him be YOUR friend? Nothing more? Maybe.
Clearing your thoughts, you nodded, setting your bag to the side. You followed him onto the mat and then mirrored his movements as you both began stretching.
______
And how long must I stay Will I lay by your side Just to say that I'm yours Oh, and you'll never be mine
Another two months passed by and life resumed its natural rhythm. Work kept you busy and so did training, which you were enjoying more and more each day. You spent your time in the gym mostly with Steve, but you also tried to train with other Avengers as well. Telling yourself repeatedly that he could not be the center of your universe, you made a point not to say yes every time he was free. Becoming too available and avoiding other aspects of your life once again was just asking for trouble.
Everything changed one day though when Maria asked you to step into her office just as you were heading to training. You entered the gym 20 minutes later, mind on overload. Automatically, you set down your bag and taped up your hands, eyes unfocused as thoughts raced.
“Y/N…” Steve tried to grab your attention, snapping his fingers before your face. “Earth to Y/N…everything okay?”
Mind returning to the present, you met Cap’s brilliant blue eyes. “Hm? Yeah…sorry. I’m okay. I think.”
“You sure? You seem distracted…”
“I, um…I have a job interview in a few days,” you answered, still waiting for the news to sink in for yourself.
“Job interview? You’re leaving us? Where to?” Steve inquired with a furrow in his brow.
“London.”
Shocked, Steve sputtered, “England? You’re leaving the country? Wow. When?”
“I don’t know…I mean, I leave tomorrow for the interview and I’ll be gone only three days, but if I get the offer, then maybe…” you trailed off, still unsure if this was all real.
Maria had asked you to come into her office, informing you that a new position was opening up. She knew you had outgrown your current position and wanted the best for you, so she offered your name. SHIELD had a London branch before the revelation that HYDRA was actually pulling all the strings. It all came crashing down on both sides of the ocean, although less literally in England. No high-tech Helicarriers fell into the Thames that day, only the loss of trust between coworkers and the fleeing of cowardly HYDRA agents before they could be discovered.
London SHIELD had lie dormant since then, but there was a need for reliable eyes and ears overseas, so the higher-ups decided to build it back up. The position you were applying for was basically Maria’s job, but on a smaller scale. It was a great opportunity. You just had to decide if it was right for you, should you get the job.
“That’s um…wow. That’s great,” Steve replied, still looking almost as shocked about the situation as you did. He snapped out of it though, then clapping his hands. “Well. Let’s break a sweat before you enjoy all those fish & chips, huh?”
Letting out a chuckle, you nodded, preparing to stretch.
_________
Those three days in London had been an incredible whirlwind. After the interview, a thorough background screening, and some time spent in the city, you were headed home with a lot to think about.
London was a gorgeous city, old and historic blending seamlessly into sleek and modern across the skyline. Getting around was quite easy, actually, reminding you a lot of New York City. The Tube Subway system was convenient and almost idiot proof once you got the hang of it. It was literally color-coded, for heaven’s sake; each line a certain color on the map and even the trains themselves had colored railings. It was also clean and generally on time, which you could not say the same about New York’s Subway.
The trip to your interview went smoothly, arriving at 30 St Mary Axe with 10 minutes to spare. The building was all curves with gleaming windows, the top tapering into a dome. Most refer to it by its nickname: the Gherkin, for the pickle-like shape it resembled. SHIELD inhabited multiple floors in the office building rather than a large structure of its own. The British were much less ostentatious than their American counterparts.
The interview went swimmingly as the conversation flowed and the responsibilities required were discussed. Your references and experience nearly spoke for themselves. You were offered the position on the spot but were given a few days to let them know.
Walking into the office the next day, slightly jet lagged, you were surprised to find Steve leaving Maria’s office as you entered.
“Y/N, hey! How was London?” he asked you, all smiles
“Hi, Steve. London was…amazing,” you responded with a grin.
“Really? So you got it?”
“I did.”
“Wow, congratulations!” Steve offered with enthusiasm, unexpectedly wrapping you in a hug. You melted into his warm, strong arms as his musk of vanilla and spice overwhelmed you.
He just as quickly released you, leaving you stunned a moment. “Um…thanks, Steve. I haven’t quite decided if I’ll accept, but it’s a great opportunity.”
“Oh. Well, if you do, we’ll sure miss you around here,” he said sincerely, half-smile upon his face.
You nodded, suddenly overwhelmed by the thought of saying goodbye to…everyone. Struck with bravery and caught up in the moment, you called out as he turned to go.
“Steve! Um..”
He turned back toward you, curious.
“Will you go to dinner with me?” you blurted. Surprise dawned on his features so you quickly went on, “I…I mean, we never did go out for Indian food. Seems like now is the time.” A pang of instant regret hit you as he paused in the doorway, wishing to retrieve the words. Feeling embarrassed, you awaited his response while biting your lip nervously.
“Uh…sure. Yeah, that’d be great,” he said with a smile.
Exhaling in relief, you returned his smile. “Okay. Awesome. I’ll send you the details.” And he left with a nod.
____________
The following night, you found yourself sitting across from Steve at your favorite Indian restaurant, the table piled high with all sorts of tasty dishes. He wanted to try a little bit of everything and you had no objection, helping yourself to rice and curry paired with garlic naan, your favorite. Steve even tried the hottest curry on the menu, resulting in coughing and sweating on his part and uncontrollable laugher on yours. He was a good sport though and felt much better after a large amount of ice water.
Conversation flowed easily, him asking about your new position and how you felt about moving overseas. You had made the call a few hours ago to accept. It was all big and scary and new, but it was too good of an opportunity. If you were going to move forward in your career and see the world, this was the best way to do it. Not that you were without reservations, though. A small part of you still wanted to stay for reasons you hadn’t been willing to admit until now.
Other than leaving behind all that was familiar: friends, co-workers, the hustle and bustle of a city you loved, you were also leaving a part of your heart behind. Try as you might to not let yourself have feelings for Steve, once again you found that you had no choice in the matter. There was no use denying it: you were in love with Steve Rogers. Not Captain America, the iconic superhero the rest of the world loved. No, you fell for the funny, sweet man from Brooklyn who helped a friend without a thought and never failed to put a smile on your face.
Once again, you had fallen all on your own and the impact wasn’t going to be easy, but this big change was probably for the best. Time away from him might actually allow you to let go. You did feel like you were losing your best friend, too, which hurt just as much.
At the end of the night, he walked you to your door like the gentleman he is while your mind raced with what to say. Coming to a stop, he turned toward you, hands in his jacket pockets.
“Steve, I um…I just wanted to say thank you. For everything. For being willing to train with me, keeping my spirits up, for pushing me to always be better and just…being my friend. And thank you for coming out to dinner. It meant a lot to me,” you said, hoping you wouldn’t get too emotional. This wasn’t even an official goodbye, just goodnight, but this might be the last time you were alone with Steve. There was a fine line between saying too much and not enough.
Steve grinned at you, those adorable dimples on display. “You are more than welcome, Y/N. You’ve been a great friend and I’ve really enjoyed our time together. I hope you’ll continue your training over there because you have potential. And thank you for dinner. I had a great time. I’ll miss having you around.”
A beat of silence lingered before you leaned in for a hug, burning the memory in your mind of being in his arms, if only for a short moment. You said your goodbyes and stepped inside, leaning against the door as you heard his footsteps fade.
After a week of chaos and tying up every loose end in your life, you found yourself on the plane headed for London. You hadn’t allowed yourself much time to think the past few days but as the plane rose and you caught one last glance of the city from above, you felt your heart ache while a few tears fell. For all that you were leaving behind. For all the new experiences to come. And for Steve.
When this love like a hole Swallowed my soul Dragging me down… And I'll never be whole again

Epilogue >>>
The Truth Behind “You Are My Heaven” (personal story)
_________________________________________________________
There it is. I know, I’m sorry!! But trust me, I lived it. Slightly different circumstances, but there was definitely Indian food. If anyone’s curious what the real story is, let me know. I could possibly be persuaded. I’m thinking of doing an epilogue! Thoughts?? Let me know! I love to hear from you lovely people! Also I really have been to London and yes, you should be jealous. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

July 8th 2017
To update on my parents' marriage, I have no idea how to describe it. One minute they fight, the next they're literally frenching in front of everybody. The PDA have been...kinda much unbearable. Not to mention (and this just might scar me for life), their bedroom is next to mine. 'Nuff said. I guess that is better than them fighting all the time, right? Well, wrong. Because they are still fighting, only after they do (and those are pretty major fights, just to point out; themes like cheating, control, lack of love etc. are always present) they become rabits. Also, my dad became like, rather overprotective over my mom, but with wrong people. Those people being N and myself. Like, you accidentaly do or say something that could be read as disrespectable (which it truly isn't) the rage of hell shall descend upon you. The situation is rather icky. But, positive part of all of this is with their focus on one another, there have been almost zero incidents with dad and me. Yesterday was something that almost escalated (out of that thing with being overprotective over mom. I offered to iron her hair. Apparently I did that wrong? Or something like that), but the key word is almost. Nothing happened. Oh, and another update, this one on my friends. M hates me now? Long story as short as I can make it, we were looking for summer jobs (we being A, J, M and myself) and I got salmonella so I couldn't go to an interview with J and M. A already found a job elswhere. So the interview was on Thursday and on Wednesday I was in hospital on IV, so you see, I couldn't exactly go. Anyway, by Sunday my fever dropped. My stomach was still pretty unstable, but better than it was the week prior. I was okayish most of the time, and if I took pills, it didn't even hurt. On Sunday evening, A called me and asked if I'm well enough to go see a firework show. At first I thought I wouldn't go, but we talked about that show a few times already, and I really wanted to. So I drank my medication, packed water and four packs of tissues and went. I was out for maybe 4 hours, and only once did I feel nausia, so it was a win. Unfortunately, M found out about it and got pissed. The next week on friday I was completely healthy and we (M, J, A and one other friend, and I) went out for drinks and talks. Fifteen minutes into our walk towards the chosen coffee shop, she started the passive attack. How I'm not a fair person and that if I didn't want to work with them (how is she making this about her??)I should have just said so and not pretend I had salmonella (pretend??pretend???). I also should find a job and not be lazy and miss job interviews due to my laziness and again say that I'm sick instead. ??? Lie that I had salmonella? How can one even fake that? I sent her a pic from the hospital and the bruise from IV was still pretty colourful on my hand. And to say I did it because I didn't want to work with her???? How narcissistic can you be? And not just that. I realized, too late I'm afraid, that she is a very self centered person. And our friendship was pretty toxic even before this. Mind you she 'called me out' in front of J and another one of our friends, instead of talking to me alone. If we have a problem with eachother, we deal woth it in private and talk it out. We don't do it in the midle of a busy street, with two people between us, and her not wanting to look me in the eyes, surounding herself with the air of arogance and self righteousness. A was late so she wasn't there. In every one of our arguments before, I let her win because I knew her pride wouldn't allow her to continue our friendship if she lost, so I was the first to back down, shut up and if needed, apologize, all for the continuation of our friendship. This time, I kinda snapped. I told her that this isn't, for once, about her and she can't talk to me like that. She tried to dish out some more but I told her it was enough and to stop. She barely did. J works with her and she told me M throws hate my way. But you know what? I don't care anymore. The only reason we even started hanging out 3 years ago was because she chased away all of her friends with this same behaviour and I felt sorry for her being alone so I let her in my circle. I don't know how this situation is going to end, but one thing is sure, I do NOT need any more toxic relationships in my life, thank you. If she can't continue the friendship without control and hierarchy, then unfortunately I don't want to be a part of it. Further update will follow once the situation continues. For now, we wait.
