Remus opened his letter, surprised when it appeared to be a howler. The last time he’d heard one was the day before Sirius got disowned back in 5th year.

He was in the dining hall for breakfast, sitting at the staff table. He watched as Harry and Hermione plotted, looking anxious. He blew it off, as it seemed Harry was always weary.

“A howler,” Snape sneered from beside him.

“Astute observation, Severus.” Remus told him, nodding at him.

Remus disregarded Snape, and focused on the howler. There was no name on it, so it was possible it was from a student playing a prank. In good nature, for the prankingnostalgia, Remus opened it.

There was silence for a moment before a loud, booming voice started to yell. “DARLINGGGGG, GUESS WHOS BACK FROM JAIL” And it was his Sirius Black. And he knew they would find each other again.

I think I figured out why he has two pairs of eyes. To see under the brim of his hat when he tilts his head x)

I'm somehow sure that Zestial would have rather perceived Velvette's actions more with indifference and silent dislike. Even her attempts to scare him didn't give him any reaction (although in the series he reacted for some reason). Zestial's a grandfather who's a many centuries old. I don't think I realized how overstimulated and stressed out I get until I started wearing noise-canceling headphones pretty much 90% of the time and the special glasses I wear over the top of my RX glasses that filter my peripheral vision as well as provide extra light blocking.

Usually, I'm not even listening to anything on the headphones; I'm just filtering out the sounds of everything else. No more sound of traffic outside, no more low electrical humming that no one else seems able to hear. Just me and my thoughts, which are actually a lot more coherent when I'm not battling the noise of the world just to literally try and hear myself think.

It's nice.
