Happily Ever After
(TW/CW for typical sexist thinking)
When Beauty and the Beast comes out in 1991, despite the fact that El is almost 20, she decides she wants to go and see it with her and her family. She adored The Little Mermaid, and after the Family Video days, going to the movies is still something her and the party like to do together. And Steve loves it, because he gets to watch cheesy romance storylines without taking shit for it.
But at the tender age of 24, not in a long-term relationship, and still haunted by his days in school, Beauty and the Beast hits Steve a little close to home. He sees himself in the Beast, wonders if he'll ever find love, if he'll ever stop being 'too much' for people (because sure, he doesn't have the Beast's temper, but he is too clingy, his exes - yes, all of them - made sure to tell him, and that's without all the other stuff).
And it's not like he's hopped into bed with every viable option in the years since they finally killed Vecna, either. He's really only had 3 relationships in that time, carefully vetted and deliberated upon before even starting the relationship, because he'd known then what it was like to have his heartbroken, and he was not in a rush to repeat that. Besides, his kids came first, and there was a lot of rebuilding to do. But despite everything, none of his girlfriends had lasted, not between the secrets of the Upside Down, the head trauma, the nightmares, and his 'cloying' nature.
He leaves the theatre with an ache in his chest, but tries to keep a smile on his face as they all pile into the nearest burger joint and talk about the movie and life in general. Only Eddie notices something's off, quirking an eyebrow at him. Steve, of course, waves him off with a poor excuse for a smile.
When it's time for them to all disperse, Steve drives straight to his current girlfriend's house as previously planned, not noticing the worried look Eddie shoots his way. Steve tries to hide his mood from his girlfriend, tries not to hug her for too long when she greets him at the door, knowing from much previous experience that girls don't like it when you're not the strong one, but he just can't shake the feeling that he's being torn apart from the inside out. He just can't help but think about how Belle was willing to change for the Beast; adjust her expectations, adapt her behaviour, be patient with him, and communicate instead of sending him weird, incomprehensible messages then get pissed when he doesn't understand. Why can't he have that? Is he even worthy of that? Why the fuck is it easier to justify redemption for a fictional beast than himself?
But his girlfriend sighs, unfooled, and won't leave him alone until he's honest about it because it's putting a damper on her night. And Steve, unprepared and entirely lost, just stammers out: 'I just... I want Disney love, you know?'
His girlfriend snorts at him, tells him Disney love doesn't exist, and that he just needs to be a man and get on with it.
Normally, Steve would force a laugh, tell her she's right, bury his feelings and try to do just that. But tonight? Tonight it breaks him. Before he knows what he's doing, he's up and muttering 'I don't think this is working' and gets straight back in his car, barely hearing her calling his name, confused and angry and exasperated. He doesn't notice where he's driving until he's already pulled up outside Eddie and Wayne's house, bought with the hush-money from the government.
He shuts off the engine and just sits there, debating what to do. The truth is, Eddie is just as much his best friend as Robin - even more so, sometimes, just in a different way Steve can't explain. Eddie always knows when he's upset, and knows exactly how to hug him - which he does, regularly. Eddie know when to steer him outside if it's too loud and going to trigger a migraine, and seems to know when he needs to eat, even though Eddie himself can barely keep himself fed. And Steve knows just when Eddie's going to get overstimulated and needs to be given something to focus on to calm him down, or when Eddie's had a bad night with nightmares, and needs someone to fall asleep with on the phone, just to know someone's there with him. He knows just when Eddie needs someone he can talk to about his new campaign, because everyone in work would complain so much if Eddie rambled on there. And Steve enjoys listening to him, so why wouldn't he encourage Eddie to speak to him?
They're best friends. And right now, he needs one of Eddie's hugs. It's just he's not normally so pathetically desperate when he turns up.
The decision is made for him when the front door opens and Eddie leans against the frame, a knowing smile on his face, practically screaming 'well, are you gonna come in or what?'. And even though he fights it, Steve can't stop the tears from welling as he gets out of the car and throws himself straight into Eddie's open arms.
"Whoa whoa, hey big boy, it's okay," Eddie soothes, bringing his arms around him and squeezing with just the right amount of pressure as sobs bubble up in Steve's throat.
"That's it, let it out," Eddie adds, and fuck does it make Steve melt.
Somehow - Steve really doesn't know how - Eddie gets the door closed and brings him to the sofa, manoeuvring him until Steve is curled up on his chest, face pressed into his neck, just safe and warm and whole in his arms, despite feeling so broken. And eventually, when Steve's calmed down enough to sniffle his way through an explanation, Eddie's warm hand in the centre of his back pulling too-honest word after too-honest word out of him, instead of laughing it off or being cagey as he normally would, Eddie's there, blowing out a breath, saying 'That sucks man,' and calling his girlfriend a bitch. Well, ex-girlfriend.
"She's not. Not really." Steve mumbles. "She's probably right, anyway. Disney love doesn't exist. I just- I just want someone that wants all of me, you know? Why show us that on screen if it doesn't exist in real life?"
"It does exist, man," Eddie says, but his tone is off. It's... sad, somehow. Like he's in pain. Steve blinks at him, and within seconds, a blush is covering Eddie's cheeks.
"Er, I just mean that it is out there, and you'll definitely find it," he says, tone now too bright and too enthusiastic.
".... But." Steve prompts.
"No, no buts. You can have it, and I'm sure you will!"
Steve tilts his head to the side. "Okay... so why did you sound.. like that?"
Eddie rakes his fingers through his hair - Steve never understood how his rings didn't catch in his curls.
"I, well, it's just that sometimes... the people who could love us like that have wanted to for a long time, and we've never noticed..."
Eddie's biting his lip, his voice trailing off into nothing, and legs practically vibrating with how fast he's tapping them. And Steve can't breathe.
"Eds?" he croaks.
"It just sucks that you're straight," Eddie forces out a laugh. "Because, assuming you'd be happy with a freak like me? I'd... gods Stevie, I'd give you everything."
Steve stares at him, at the bright pink of his cheeks, the deeper red of his lips (that are going to get darker if he keeps biting them like that), at the hair he's always been just a little bit obsessed with, and feels warmth and hope bloom where air should be.
"Eds... who says I'm straight?"
It's absolutely not what he expects to come out of his mouth. He'd never questioned his sexuality, even when Will and Mike finally got together. But now, how can he know he's anything but? It's like all the stars have magically aligned and suddenly, a new path has been made clear to him. The one he should have been on years ago.
Eddie's eyes snap to his, and Steve still cannot breathe, drowning in the hope, the fear, the devotion there. He wants to whimper. Almost does.
"Wh- what?"
Steve swallows. "For you, Eds? I'd be anything."
And it's different this time. Saying those words. He's used to them being a promise to become something he's not, to put everyone and their needs ahead of himself. But with Eddie, he knows he's never be taken advantage of like that. That Eddie would do exactly the same for him.
Eddie's hand cups his cheek, the callouses from his guitar sending tingles down Steve's spine, and Steve wants to cry all over again as Eddie whispers, hesitant and hopeful, "Be mine?"
Licking his lips, Steve swallows past his thumping heart.
"For forever, and happily ever after."

Hello! Is it okay to request Reader in Pokemon Legend: Arceus?
Reader is Clan Leader, not in Diamond or Pearl, Clan named the Platinum Clan and that worhips Giratina
This Clan used to be the original (and probably oldest) a conflict happens that now split in two and that is the Diamond clan and Pearl Clan.
The Platinum clan has now forgotten at the current age of the Hisui yet its still standing and hidden away
Reader's has the Disney belle like personality, caring and knowledgeable, and their the same age as Adaman and/or Irida.
-Tales and rumors were scattered around Hisui about a group, much like the Pearl and Diamond Clans that operated, serving as wardens, protectors against Pokemon that were too wild for normal people to handle.
-Very few knew more than a rumor or two, and many believed they were just that, rumors and stories, but those few who knew more told of another clan, the one that gave birth, to put it simply, to the other two clans, the Platinum Clan.
-The Platinum Clan originally existed years ago, long before the age of the Hisui of today, worshipping a powerful Pokemon, one they revered as a god, Giratina.
-The clan was the birthplace of the largest conflict known to history, at least to those who knew the history, when opposing individuals in the clan argued over their lord, and with it, they disbanded, becoming the rivals of today.
-There was one who knew of the Platinum Clan very well, knowledge that had been passed down from generation to generation, as the current leader of the Platinum Clan.
-You worshipped Giratina, much like your ancestors, making them proud, leaving him offerings and praying to him. It didn’t matter to you if you were one of the few in your clan, you kept the old ways alive, you wouldn’t let their memory die out.
-You were a courier, working between the different clans and Jubilife Village, working mainly for the Galaxy Expedition Team, you handled delivering letters and reports, as well as supplies between the different areas of Hisui.
-Many regarded you as odd, as you would go out into that dangerous world, where wild Pokemon could easily attack you, without a guard or even a Pokemon to call your own!
-You didn’t mind, as the wild Pokemon were friendly to you, most of the time, as you respected them, you treated them with kindness, minding their space if they wanted space, and many knew of the witchcraft you performed in the form of head pats and scratches!! Many told tales to their other Pokemon friends, and they wanted to try it for themselves, so it wasn’t that odd to see you surrounded by Pokemon at any given time, but you were never worried or scared.
-You were walking along, traveling to a meeting point with both Adaman and Irida, where the three of you planned to meet, when you slowed, coming across a cemetery, one that had been reclaimed by nature, being long forgotten.
-This was another thing that many thought you were odd for, always going to and exploring cemeteries! And to do it with a smile on your face made everything worse in the eyes of others!!
-You pulled your pack off, finding a large tree in the center of the cemetery and pulled out several berries you had, most of them were gifts from Pokemon, payment for their affections they so adore.
-You prayed quietly to Giratina, wishing for others to be safe, and for him to guide the souls of those who were lost to where they needed to be.
-As you took off, hurrying so Irida wouldn’t scold you for being late again, you missed a distortion in the tree, as if something was peeking through, as the berries almost instantly vanished.
-It had seen you before, watching you grow, from the shadows of an alternate universe, the one that it called it’s prison. It saw how hard you worked, and how hard and devoted you prayed to him, and your selfless prayers, to help others, made this being grow soft, such a kind human was worthy to protect.
-You had no ideas that only a week later, a massive rift in space, above Mount Coronet appeared, altering Hisui as everyone knew it.

A Daiken Evil!Boyfriends/Soulmates AU I'll Probably Never Write
because it’s kind of too much is: an AU universe where soulmates exist and everyone knows they exist but either it’s really rare to meet your soulmate or only a small percentage of the population has them.
Ken and Davis are soulmates and when they shake hands during their soccer match they realize it. Later that day, Davis finds out Ken is the Digimon Emperor and confides in Tai because he looks up to him and doesn’t know what to do and needs advice - being soulmates makes him hesitate to tell the others openly who Ken is because there is a general belief amongst the population that soulmates are a perfect match for one another and he’s worried about what the other’s will think of him if his soulmate is a bad person.
Meanwhile, Ken is mad after the soccer match because how can someone who isn’t perfect like him be his soulmate? Davis clearly isn’t good enough for him but because it’s Ken, he very quickly convinces himself that he can change Davis by infecting him with a dark spore (because Ken is aware of the one in his neck and has been studying it for awhile) and make him better until he’s up to Ken’s absurd standards which leads to:
Ken offering Davis the opportunity to join him in his quest to conquer the Digital World when he realizes who Ken is and Davis agreeing to do it days later at the insistence of Tai (and reluctantly, Izzy, because they're BFFs/Boyfriends?) who think they can use this situation to their advantage and defeat Ken who has been thwarting them for maybe years at this point; it's an aged up AU and Ken's identity is secret longer.
Davis ends up convincing Ken that he wants to join him because his family and the other Digi-Destined don’t respect/care about him and Ken is his soulmates so that means if any one will, it’s Ken. I like to think Tai stages some kind of fight between them in the Digital World, probably about how his soulmate is evil and that make Davis a bad person, that Ken witnesses to make it more convincing but no one else besides Tai, Izzy and Davis are aware that the fight is staged so everyone else thinks Tai really thinks Davis is untrustworthy and Davis really has betrayed them when he joins the Emperor.
Tai and Izzy basically send Davis to get inside information to help them defeat Ken and he is supposed to report back to them about the Emperor’s activities to give them an advantage - to do this Davis insists he wants to continue school and living in the real world - but Ken doesn’t immediately trust Davis because of his lack of commitment after he joins him so Davis doesn’t know much at first and also Davis says he isn’t going to help Ken conquer the Digital World - he doesn’t want to hurt Digimon or the other Digi-Destined even if they all hate him and he openly tells Ken he only wants to help Ken because they’re soulmates which Ken laughs at.
Ken, thinking he’ll manipulate Davis until he’s on his side for real, tells him that’s fine and that he’ll come around. Meanwhile he makes it clear he thinks Davis is useless to him the way he is and Davis needs to be better to be worthy of being Ken’s soulmate and to do that Ken comes up with a series of training exercises to “help” Davis be better.
Davis is really stubborn and knows Ken isn’t convinced of his loyalty to him and, because he looks up to Tai so much and wants his respect and approval via doing what Tai wants him to do (and also he really wants to find a way to stop Ken and stop him being evil and thinks this is the best way to do it) Davis pushes himself to meet all of Ken’s absurd standards and challenges which basically amount to torture for a normal person without a spore.
This leads to a period of many many months where Davis goes to the Digital World after school every day to meet Ken, is basically put through the ringer until eventually his health starts to decline visibly because he’s trying to do things he physically can’t do and studying all the time to be smarter for Ken to the point where Tai and Izzy are like “this was a bad idea” and Ken, meanwhile is angrier and angrier that Davis is so bad by his estimates but also because of the spore he also thinks watching Davis struggle impossibly is really really funny so he keeps making everything harder and harder for Davis - moving the goalpost whenever Davis actually manages to meet one of his absurd goals naturally - while he works on a way to spread the spore to Davis which he eventually manages to do.
Davis has been giving Tai and Izzy info in secret when he can but suddenly drops off the face of the earth when Ken infects him with a dark spore. The spore has the desired effect from Ken’s perspective and Davis becomes able to match Ken intellectually and physically and is more willing to help Ken by conquering areas in the digital world and fighting the other digi-destined in earnest who, thanks to the spore, he’s started to think of as inferior to himself and Ken.
Only it’s Davis and he’d been very serious about his goal of gaining Ken’s trust in order to save the Digital World and save Ken/stop him being evil before being infected with the spore so now that he knows about the spore he immediately comes to the conclusion that it’s responsible for Ken’s behavior and is aware that it’s not only made him smarter and stronger/more athletic - which is useful - but is also making him think thoughts he wouldn’t normally think and unlike Ken who is completely oblivious to how he’s changed as a person by it, Davis is at least aware of how it has affected him.
Quite a bit of the fic I’d want to write would just be Davis’ struggle with fighting the influence of the spore trying to change him completely while trying to figure out how best to go about freeing Ken and dealing with his growing feelings towards him and how all of this is perceived and effects the other Digi-Destined who do or don’t know that what is going on.
Little scenes I thought about writing were things like: Davis shows up after having gone completely off-grid for a few days/weeks while the spore took hold and it’s the first time any of the other kids have seen him besides once when he fought them in the Digital World for Ken (without holding back for once) and he’s just genuinely nasty towards T.K. who he has never gotten along with at this point and he gets into an actual fight with Matt who jumps to T.K.’s defense but easily wins having learned how to fight from Ken over the last few months.
Tai corners him at some point to be like “what was that? What did Ken do to you? You’re not acting like yourself” while Davis laughs off Tai’s concerns before becoming angry because, isn’t this what Tai wanted?, at which point Izzy has to stop Tai from fighting with Davis, because this was Tai’s idea to not tell the other’s that Davis wasn’t really on Ken’s side and Ken clearly trusts Davis which means Davis is now in a position to do what they wanted even if things hadn’t gone how Tai imagined they would.
Matt is absolutely livid when he learns that everything that has happened was some hair-brained scheme of Tai’s that has gone off the rails and resulted in Davis going from the honest, well-meaning, happy-go-lucky kid they’d known to being depressed and angry and manipulative because Tai had unintentionally or otherwise made him feel like he would be letting everyone down if he didn’t use his position as Ken’s soulmate to their benefit. Matt, bearer of the crest of Friendship, never would have allowed them to go through with such a stupid and dangerous plan that has obviously hurt one of their friends and this causes a brief rift between Tai and Matt.
Because of the spores influence, Davis doesn’t really consider what has happened to him both before he was infected and after to have hurt him in anyway - Ken was just trying to make him better and now he is - and he doesn’t really care about why everyone is upset on his behalf but, unlike Ken, he’s self-aware in regards to the spore so he knows he probably should and would have cared before all this.
All he wants to do is save Ken now, though. He’s gone over Ken’s research on the spore and it’s clear the spore is growing and is dangerous and if it continues it might kill Ken (and now him) and Davis doesn’t know how to stop it yet but he still thinks the best thing to do is to make Ken see sense about the Digital World being real and not just a game Ken is playing.
I’ve thought about a lot of little scenes between Ken and Davis where Davis tries to understand Ken better and slowly learns that Ken isn’t actually as awful as he pretends/appears to be and then comes to the conclusion that the spore is responsible - maybe he stumbles across Ken’s research on it before he even understands what the spore does or is.
I haven’t mentioned any of the digimon in this yet but they’re there and Veemon obviously goes with Davis when he joins the Emperor and is in on their plan to gain Ken’s trust to ultimately win against him via getting inside info on Ken’s actions and the location of the base and all that good stuff that would obviously eventually happen. I like to think that while things are going really badly initially after Davis first joins Ken and is basically being put through torture Veemon does his best to help and encourage him or, alternatively, convince Davis he doesn’t have to do this and they should call the whole thing off.
Wormmon is also there a lot and becomes friends with Davis and Veemon. Wormmon tells Davis about how Ken used to be a kind and gentle person but changed and Wormmon still believes Ken will go back to the way he was before which is something Davis takes to heart and holds onto.
Wormmon tries to make Davis feel better when things are going particularly bad between himself and Ken or after Ken has put Davis through hell “training” him and Davis tells Wormmon he’s going to save Ken no matter what and they agree to work together for Ken’s benefit.
I have some thoughts about, like, if/when they manage to make Ken see sense and he’s freed from the spore’s influence.
The dub is really unclear but there are some parts of it that imply that once the spore goes dormant it’s effects end and Ken becomes a normal kid - no longer understanding how the control spires work, failing all his school tests etc etc - but there are also scenes where it’s like “actually he’s still a genius” - so it’s kinda up in the air and even though it is probably the former bit I like to think that the effects are permanent, so even when the spores are no longer active, Davis and Ken are still a couple of genius soulmates which would be really fun and useful for them but there would be a lot of trauma processing necessary for everyone involved.
Once Davis is able to think clearly he’d be aware of exactly how bad things had been and how different he was towards everyone as a result but Davis would put it on himself that it happened in the first place instead of blaming Ken or Tai the way that Ken and Tai definitely would blame themselves - although during the height of necessity when Ken was still evil Tai would be willing to put his own culpability on the back burner because they needed this to work or it would all be for nothing but he’d feel immensely guilty afterwards.
Ken would definitely be miserable every time Davis did or said something he wouldn’t have done or said before Ken had infected him with the spore or tried to make him better and Davis would eventually get fed up at everyone because this was how things were now and Ken and Tai and everyone needed to just accept that it happened and move on and focus on making things better for themselves and the Digital World.
The majority of the fic is quite dark and is based on things I felt were obvious in the dub, like Davis having really low self-esteem / self-worth and seeming to think of himself as undeserving of having friends or as not being a very good friend and that leads to this desire to please the people he looks up to and gain their approval - often to his own detriment.
The fic started out as just a Daiken soulmates AU about Davis dealing with the knowledge that Ken might be evil and just spiraled out of control and became this slow decent into the murky waters of depression for Davis as he tries to meet the unreasonably high expectations of a soulmate who doesn’t think he’s good enough and a senior that he looks up to who has good intentions but inadvertently puts Davis into a situation that leads to physical and emotional trauma and Davis putting up with it because he doesn’t want to let Tai down and this might really be their best chance to help Ken who Davis refuses to believe is pure evil.
And then the dark spore comes into play and for a bit it becomes a fun evil genius boyfriends AU where Davis’ maintains that he wants to help Tai stop Ken but because of the spore his words and actions are often not in line with his goal of saving Ken or helping his fellow Digi-Destined and eventually when he pulls a miracle out of his hat as he tends to do, and manages to free Ken everything should go back to normal, only it doesn’t because he’s unintentionally alienated his friends and the ones who knew what was really going on have difficulty adjusting to the changes in Davis after everything that’s happened so for a bit he’s achieved his goal but he’s still depressed.
The ending of the fic is overwhelmingly positive, though, because it’s about Davis dealing with everything he did under the spore's influence and everything that was done to him and the reasons he felt like he didn't have another choice and had to go through with things that weren’t good for him and then, eventually, repairing his relationships with Ken and Tai and the other (mainly) 02 Digi-Destined and them all dealing with and processing everything that has happened in the past, like, six+ months and learning to love and care about one another in spite of it all - it’s just really dark until the end of it.
It’s a very cathartic fic for me to think about but the majority of it being dark and depressing is why I haven’t/won’t be writing it because it’s an emotional mess and I wouldn’t even know where to begin but I woke up thinking about it and I thought, I just want to get this all out somewhere so here it is.
Also it's not the focus of this fic but Davis is trans and his parents are based on the few scenes of them in the dub that due to cultural differences unintentionally paints them as kind of flaky and, in the case of Davis' dad especially as a contributor to Davis' low self-esteem issues so they're not super bothered or observant when it comes to Davis' emotional state and probably don't notice or care that he disappears for days on end.

How would you describe Nagito's relationship with each of his zombified classmates? For some bizarre reason it sounded morbidly wholesome when you mentioned his interactions with Akane, Hiyoko, and Ibuki.
Lol, I appreciate that! Morbidly wholesome is the vibe I was feeling, as well.
(Okay, first of all I'm just brainstorming, but let's do this!)
Is it weird if I say he's closer to them than ever? Lol. He feels needed, and since they aren't in a fully rational state, he doesn't feel the need to couch any of his suggestions with caveats regarding his own unworthiness or their superiority. Being needed is a way to circumvent his need to keep his distance. And his excess of devotion/intensity has an outlet- however morally dubious -in that he is regularly feeding them people.
I'd say, in his mind, his undead classmates all exist somewhere on a sliding scale between "This is an Ultimate, extremely talented, the world's hope" and "This is a misbehaving house cat." Most of them hover around the middle of that spectrum, where they are simultaneously Ultimates and misbehaving pets, and the particular ways in which those things cancel out create a dynamic kind of like normal friendship, by the standards of this weird situation and these weird characters.
Teruteru is more at the misbehaving pet end of things. Nagito might actually use a spray bottle on him, if he found it worked to curb his more troublesome behaviors. Teruteru is constantly messing with the others and getting into things he's not supposed to, and Nagito gets kind of annoyed.
Mahiru helps him to quell misbehavior from the others, so whenever Nagito leaves the room, he announces that Mahiru is in charge until he gets back. She tends to intervene when the others fight. She helps him control Teruteru and Kazuichi especially.
Kazuichi whines, and he clings. He wants food, and he wants attention, and he wants to break apart any vaguely mechanical object Nagito might be holding and play with the pieces. (He learned that the hard way. It's how he lost his phone early on.) But his continued interest in his talent is something Nagito believes is worth encouraging, so he brings him tools and small machine parts, when he can, to see if he'll do something with them. Kazuichi usually doesn't annoy him in the way Teruteru does, but Nagito does put his foot down when he messes with Sonia's fort.
Peko is extremely quiet and mild-mannered. Occasionally, he approaches her like, "Have you eaten yet, Peko?" because she will just sit in the corner watching everybody and not eat. Which is weird, because ravenous hunger for raw (human) flesh is very much a symptom of the virus, but it seems her survival instincts have her on too high alert to enter the fray when food has been brought into the classroom. But when Fuyuhiko ends up in a fight with any of the others, she jumps in ferociously and it is very hard to break things up.
("Interesting. So do you have a crush on Fuyuhiko, then?" Nagito wonders.)
The Ultimate Imposter built a fort out of some of the desks and generally hides there in a little nest that he also built. Most of his classmates give him space, and Nagito does too (placing Imposter closer to the "Ultimate worthy of high respect" end of the spectrum) but Ibuki crawls in and out without a care in the world, sometimes bringing him food.
Ibuki pretty much interacts with everyone. Extremely tactile and prone to biting, which isn't that different from her normal self. She often reacts to faraway sounds, so when she suddenly sits up, looking excited, Nagito knows to go check the traps.
Sonia followed Imposter's example and also built a fort, but hers is a tad less structurally sound, so while Nagito keeps a respectful distance, occasionally he rights a desk that looks like it might fall. Gundham sleeps in the corner next to Sonia's fort, concealed by shadows. She would let him in if he tried to come in, but he's too shy. Hiyoko and Mahiru sleep in Sonia's fort.
Akane is usually the one to escape the room, and she is pretty much impossible to catch...unless he let Nekomaru loose, too, and Nekomaru can't particularly be trusted either. Fortunately, Akane has strong bonds to the others, so he can usually just wait for her to come back. She'll be dragging some reserve student by the leg when she does, but there's no help for it. At least the others enjoy the food. Nagito can see the good intentions, however misguided.
Mikan tries to treat Nagito's injuries, sometimes. He lets her try. Sometimes she can effectively bandage up a bite, and sometimes she'll just grab his hair and drag his head down to meet the injury so his hair can soak up the blood. Also, she has about a 50% chance of suddenly biting his face if she looks him in the eye for a full second. Fortunately, she's not one of the especially quick ones, so it's easy to dodge.
Hiyoko is cranky. She will bite. She also needs attention. When she has it, she will bite. When she does not have it, she will bite. Nagito just kind of lets it happen. It's fine.
On the whole, he lowkey really likes being in charge of them. The ones who will sit still, he wipes the blood off their faces. The ones who don't take the initiative to eat, he points them out to Akane and she brings them food. He makes sure they have blankets and water.
Honestly, despite the regular biting (which he considers his payment for the chance to be of use), this is a pretty good timeline for Nagito.

I’d also like to add, Jason being a survivor for survivors in general.
Obviously everything you and others have posted on this matter is valid but I wanted to add that you don’t have to have a history of abuse to feel worthy of living.
To me (someone who fortunately hasn’t struggled with abuse in my life) I find Jason inspirational because if we look at Jason and strip him of everything that makes him him. He will always fundamentally be a survivor. A survivor of yes abuse, but also a survivor of being a child born from low income background/ poverty. A survivor of familial issues. He is a survivor of everything that’s happened in his life and that’s what I think is so real.
I am in no way trying to invalidate those who have suffered from forms of abuse. I just wanted to add that whether you have survived a traumatic experience or simply difficult circumstances, you continue to survive and endure just like Jason has.
That to me is what makes Jason so special and relatable. Idk even without a traumatic childhood/history of abuse I still tend to feel lost in this world. I am a part of a low income family, and I have experienced trauma in my life, but I feel like it can’t compare to the hardships so many others face. I try to tell myself that despite everything I am a survivor. I don’t know of what specifically but I am surviving despite my mental health.
It’s just nice to know that this character exists and continues to exist despite his challenges. Just. Like. Me. And that other people who grew up feeling alone or thinking they were worthless (despite having a “normal” childhood) can also exist and survive like him.
I tell myself that Jason’s form of justice by eradicating the worst criminals and protecting the vulnerable is beautiful. That his revenge against the worst of Gothams criminals is empowering and right. But my circumstances are different. I’m angry and there’s no one to take my revenge on. So, I tell myself to survive because isn’t living just taking revenge on the possibility of death?
Anyway, I am a survivor like Jason and I’m proud to say it.
This is gonna be a loaded topic and I know some people feel strongly about it, and I'm not 100% sure on the tone of your message anon, but I'm gonna go ahead and assume it's in good faith. The first thing I have to say is that there are very few situations in which comparing misfortunes and difficulties is warranted. They do exist (such as abusers claiming their misfortune is more relevant than the pain they are inflicting onto others) but anon, when you say you feel proud for overcoming odds and for surviving and that you feel like identifying with Jason, there is absolutely no need to justify yourself. If you see yourself in a character, then that is yours to feel and identify with.
Jason Todd also came from poverty. His rejection by most vigilantes and alienation is easy to identify with for many different reasons, including living with mental health problems. Finally you mentioned that you have had hardships but don't feel you can compare it to other's hardships... and I don't know about you or your life, but either way, you don't have to compare it. For what? For who? Comparing and ranking severity of trauma serves no purpose but to silence people. Whatever it is you've experienced, you don't have to justify yourself in front of anyone to take it seriously.
On a personal note, I can, and I have, been stuck in denying my own pain because "other people have had it worse". My advice is, just don't go there with your thoughts. Even if you're just feeling sad cuz you dropped your fries and can't eat them anymore. If you're sad, you're sad. You're allowed to have your feelings.
I am honestly a bit confused about your repeated mentioning that you don't have it bad (because no one has claimed that Jason is only for those to enjoy who "qualify" with "severe enough" trauma, so the message reads kinda defensive to me?). I don't know you or your situation. And I'm really struggling to read the tone of the message O.O But uh, hm, Jason Todd is for everyone. I don't think anyone is gate-keeping him, but he is singular in how he attracts people who face discrimination or have experienced trauma.

First Order!Poe Dameron x F!reader
Content : noncon, sexual content, prisonnier!reader, manipulation, mention of breeding kink, angst.
Synopsis : General Poe Dameron feels more and more distressed as war never ends. He found a new source of comfort, and wants to keep it forever.

- - - - - -
War was one of the worst things to happen in Poe's life. He should have known better than embracing it as a new part of his identity at the beginning. He had been naive and reckless for the sake of glory and ambition, and from the heroic pilot he ended up as the General breaking down once alone and lonely.
Himself was the worst thing to happen to you, his promising protégée he captured in the ashes of a fallen city. What he thought would corrupt you to join him loyally only killed off that light in your eyes. No hip thrust or moan of pleasure could reignite it. It was gone. He thought he would trap you into that twisted game of his but it failed miserably. Instead of a warm body waiting for him in his bed he created that empty shell now more popular in the First Order than himself.
They adored you. The beautiful and emotionless General that turned her back to the Resistance to join the First Order after she realized her losses couldn't justify her past mistakes. They loved to romanticize your existence, to make you theirs, to make their heroin as desirable as they could to make war and miserable life more bearable.
You weren't theirs. You weren't his neither.
"Sometimes I think everything went wrong in my life, and yet I don't regret it. But then I remember what a better life I wished for back then." He whispered.
Like a little boy looking for comfort with his mom, he joined you in your bed to get a hug. Tears had flooded his face, drying slowly as you caressed his dark locks. On this morning he had caused the death of over three hundreds rebels, but no one congratulated him. It was a new normal after all. No one knew he needed some reassurance those days, all he wanted was a soft voice that would answer to him.
"You were pathetic when you used to try to flirt with me." You commented coldly as you started to massage the head on your breasts. "At least now you are actually worthy of your title instead of acting like a coward Resistance fighter."
That hurt. He missed those days where his heart was light enough to joke around. When he could still have friends. When he could flirt with anyone with some intent behind it or not.
"You shouldn't insult your former camp like that," he mumbled, "they fought until the end."
"And at the end you captured me. Acting as weak as they were was a failure all along. They had one thing to do and it was to protect our capital against the First Order. They were scared and flew away."
Poe used to hear some frightened pleas leaving your lips during your sleep. Maybe they were directed to his doppelganger in your nightmares. Or maybe to him. He had treated you badly, and maybe that leaving you behind after each time he would have tried to impregnate you for the First Order image was another mistake. At that time you were a cute female prisoner that would be useful for propaganda purposes, but now you were his only source of comfort between two sour comments and nightmares.
"I wasn't scared like them. I was tired of what I used to see at the frontline. I lost countless of men." He murmured.
"They were stupid. You're not." You said flatly.
Happy for the first time in a few months, he pressed harder against you, his strong arms squishing your flesh more than before as he closed his eyes to hide his face between your breasts. He loved your contact. A warm skin acting like a plushie during his existential crisis getting more regular throughout time. He regretted violating your body so many times but couldn't find a way to express it. You brought him so much comfort without willing so. He hoped he could do anything to bring you some. He hoped dearly that you had some maternal instinct that made you appreciate those nights where he would seek for your sole presence.
"Am I clever for you ?" He asked against your throat.
"... yes." You said with that same flat tone.
"Thank you." He whispered before breaking into another sobbing mess against you. "Thank you for everything my lothcat thank you so much."
Those encounters repeated themselves so many times that he would start to dream about them. Nothing sexual. Only him joining you to ask for some caresses through his hair. He loved to feel you in another way than submitted to his will, to feel so privileged to feel your skin and heartbeat when all you were during the day was a walking propaganda tool charming simple-minded soldiers.
The day you vanished, his world broke down. He wished he could take you as violently as the first time just to teach you that no, you didn't have the right to join the Resistance again. It was not fair. You couldn't do it, you didn't have the right to abandon him. The First Order why not but not him. A major deserter he thought to be brainwashed enough to see the truth. He loved you. Didn't he make it clear when he tried to make you enjoy what he was giving you ? Wasn't it better to live in that massive ship instead of letting you die of hunger in the ruins of your fallen civilization? Wasn't his love obvious when he whispered to you that you should look at him in the eyes? Wasn't his gentleness and devotion charming to you? Why were you so ungrateful? You never changed, you remained that spoiled brat from the Resistance that would kill his men off.
Poe hated you enough to chase you down through dozens of recently conquered planets. He wanted to have you against him whether you liked it or not. He needed some gentleness and he would erase the danger you were for good. Just a sweet little lothcat that would stop biting back at him whenever she felt moody or sad. He would teach you what it cost to stab him in the back like that.
The day he made you cry again was beautiful, just the two of you as his Stormtroopers waited behind the door of that shitty hotel you were hiding in. It felt good to have you so tight around him, so warm, so alive as you screamed for help to any rebel that would have survived after the siege. He felt young again, three years suppressed just like that. It was as he barely met you.
Your fingers clenched in his hair to make him look away but he didn't care, at least they were back where they should be. And this time, your eyes had the same expression as the very first time. He would do it over and over, and this time you would fall for him. You had no choice, he would push you off that cliff as violently as he had to.

I feel kind of dumb. >go on r/asoiaf >'this is why feudalism bad! GRRM is criticising feudalism!' idgi. We haven't had feudalism for ages. Do I need the old man to explain to me why the divine right of kings is misogynistic and generally quite bad? I feel like it's a bit of a reductive attitude and I think it makes the ending he'll choose to go with really unclear. Anything short of a heckin' democracy would feel bad. *wipes the reddit off of me* What do you think?
Anonymous asked: I sent that anon ask before I realised that it does crossover with topics you've touched on before so please feel free to ignore it, but if you want to springboard more specifically about the social criticism intentions of ASOIAF that could also work lol. It's a very frustrating thing to the point I wonder how ASOIAF can exist as a text if taken through such a lens.
First of all, hello & happy new year! 🎉 Sorry for the late reply, but I've been busy with celebrations.
That being said, I do think that people sometimes take this universe way too seriously. GRRM can criticize feudalism without dismantling the entire system at the end of the series and that's an absolutely normal way to write pseudo-medieval fantasy. So often I see takes like "there's no worthy king" gain popularity, except that there is? This is what we're looking for in this particular text. I understand that this doesn't jive with many people's political beliefs, but we are living in 2023 and this text we're stanning is fantasy literature with brave knights and courtly politics. It's really not that deep. Nowhere does it say that enjoying medieval fantasy has to reflect in your real-life voting patterns or that it's representative of some evil drive within you to exploit your fellow man.
And just because feudalism is bad (which it is! it sucks!) doesn't mean that having a "good" king can't make a difference and can't improve people's lives. Those with an all-or-nothing attitude are going to be disappointed at the end of the series, because GRRM never intended to re-write a new, completely fair political system.*
*at least IMO, after all, we could always take a Stephen King turn and change genres to sci-fi and the answer to everything will be aliens. and spaceships and stargates. lol.
What I think he was interested in is a passion project showcasing his love of history (since so many details are inspired by real-life history). Also, to bring it back to the social critique you mentioned, another point of interest in the medieval setting is that it allows him to build sophisticated characters that navigate their various constraints in different ways. It's the variety of personalities and approaches and reactions to these sometimes rigid impediments (be they social, economic or political) that make ASOIAF stand out in the world of fantasy. To give an example, it's both Cersei and Sansa being abused by the patriarchy, but taking such wildly different stances as a result of sometimes similar experiences! ("The only way to keep your people loyal is to make certain they fear you more than they do the enemy" vs "If I am ever queen, I will make them love me.") etc. One thing we cannot take away from GRRM is that he is wildly talented at writing people, with distinct values and belief systems, formed as a result of unique (or not!) life experiences, who benefit from varying degrees of privilege, who wield that privilege in particular ways etc. Could you do that in any time period? Of course you could, but he chose medievalesque and that's also fine.
I know that D&D made a stupid joke in the last episode about how silly democracy is and I agree that it was very heavy-handed in their typical dudebro, nuance-less way. But here are the current roadblocks that limit the amount of freedom the general population have:
the majority are illiterate;
the printing press has not been invented in Westeros. Books are copied by hand;
the road infrastructure is poor;
modes of transportation are really not very fast;
How are you going to spread democratic ideas in this context? I don't think people realise that, in order for representative democracy to work (and it has to be representative with a population so large), you need organizational resources that do not exist in Westeros - voting lists, polling stations, election observers, people who can count the votes and centralize the results in an efficient way etc. How large is Westeros again?
the lack of modern medicine keeps people beholden to antiquated patriarchal and religious views;
In a world where there is no birth control,* where STDs can be a death sentence, where you can die from a simple fever or infection, where many women die in childbirth, you will always find societal restrictions imposed on women and their bodies/wombs, as well as prudish views on sex. It's absolutely slut-shaming, but, with the existing technology available, it's also a health concern. What if you get sick from having multiple sex partners? How can you prove the child is your husband's if you sleep with more people? Or vice-versa, what about your lawful children if you, as the man, keep allocating resources to your bastard children? (this is important for marriage contracts for the purpose of inheritance).
*there are characters who seem to take moon tea without issue, but it's not a foolproof recipe as it can have dangerous side effects (see Lysa). Also it doesn't seem to be freely available to everyone.
very few cities within Westeros; most of the population live in the rural area and have agriculture jobs;
the status of guilds is unclear; how many? what occupations? in any case, guilds are closed organizations not everyone can join - as a regular Joe, you can't practice the trade of a guild, you can't access their knowledge etc;
all the land is owned by the lords; how are you going to earn a living and pull yourself by the bootstraps out of feudalism?
the lords live in castles. Castles are nigh impenetrable, it can't be overstated how effective they are at keeping away attackers and how hard they are to conquer. What are you going to do about it. Cannons haven't been invented in Westeros. Dragons do exist, but they are painted as destructive forces of nature that shouldn't exist, most definitely shouldn't concentrate that level of power in the hands of a few individuals, and will most likely disappear once and for all at the end of the series. In short, dragons will not be used as a deterrent against the construction of castles and to even out the power differential between the rich and the poor.
In real history, it was changes in warfare technology and the centralization of government that caused castles to lose their utility (more power in the hands of the king? tumblr is going to hate that).
Acknowledging these limitations and drafting an ending that's believable with the available technology painstakingly described in seven books is not going to be a cop-out or morally bankrupt or even particularly cynical. It's the best that can be done in bad circumstances. And isn't that all that we can ever do anyway?

I had a Dream of the Endless themed dream tonight (it was my brain's way to say sorry for the nightmare, have a naked hotman!), and I think it would make for a good fic so I'll try to convert the dream-abstract images into write-worthy words here!
So, after being freed from Burgess, Dream is left in a kind of a catatonic, given-up state. His personality is split into two – Nightmare and Dream. The twist? This si modern/human AU, so it's no fight between two complimentary concepts of the same person but a fight between two ways to deal with severe trauma, both equally unhealthy but trying.
Dream is trying to pretend that nothing happened, but his body is so affected by what he went through that the only way to deny the trauma is by leaving his body. He spends hours dissociating, staring into nothingness, refusing to move a muscle even if it hurts because this is his way to take back control, and if he has to die to feel normal again, he will.
From all the dissociation emerges Nightmare. He is efficient, taking care of the body and reclaiming their life. He is capable of eating and sleeping and talking to people, satisfying the less obvious needs of the body. He comes off as cruel, detached and uncaring, not being afraid to take too much from their surroundings. Dream hates him, tries to stop him, but he always ends up giving up and laying down, letting Nightmare take over. What Dream doesn't realise is that it is alright to accept help and that's all that Nightmare is doing. Sure, he omits to say sorry and thank you, but who cares? He went through something horrible, and his friends and family want to help.
So, here is Dream doing nothing and Nightmare taking care of him and putting strain on all their relationships and being a general jerk but being alive, and finally, Dream manages to somehow confront Nightmare in a half-asleep state. “Why are you here? I don't want you here!” “It's not about what you want, weakling. I have always been, and you have simply released me. At last. It was due time.”
“How can I stop you? You will ruin everything I have left!” “What you have? You have nothing because you are nothing, dear Dream. You chose to not exist. I chose to live. I saved you. If you would stop whining for one second, you would realise. Without me you would be laying in your own waste, starving away. I am the force that makes you get up and stay alive.” “I didn't ask for this.” “You have it anyway.”

💖 🤗
Hi anon! I've been waiting until I had the brainpower to answer this, so sorry for the wait! And hopefully you'll see it!
💖 What made you start writing?
In general, I have no idea. I've been doing it on and off since I was a kid. Like I didn't realize other people didn't write down the silly things they imagined in their heads. Then I discovered fanfic at the tender age of... 13? 14? Somewhere around there?
More specifically and more recently, I'd been writing a metric fuckton in grad school but it was all very dry and boring (well, not to me, but stylistically boring), so I wanted to write something more fun and with lower stakes, so I got back into fanfic ~2018.
🤗 What advice would you give to new fanfic writers that are just getting started?
Gosh, there's so MUCH advice out there that I'm not sure I'm better qualified than anyone else giving it. But here's some I've gotten that work for me that I think would also work if you're just starting with fanfic. (Caveat: no writing advice is one-size-fits-all, so if one thing doesn't work for you, that's ok! Try others!)
Just write it. The first draft will probably suck and that's ok. Sucking is part of the process of not-sucking. This is what editing is for.
Speaking of editing, if you're worried about your own editing skills and can find a good beta, I highly recommend it! My qualifications for a good beta are not necessarily "good with grammar" (though yes, that should be part of it), but also someone who knows how to communicate to you about whether or not you're successfully executing what you're trying to execute. They aren't there to "fix" your story in some objective sense and certainly not to tear you down. They're there to help make your story the best version that it can be.
Write down all your ideas, no matter how stupid or how convinced you are that you'll remember it later. "If an idea isn't written down, it functionally doesn't exist" is writing advice I got 1000 times in school, and infuriatingly, it is correct.
If you want to write more than just a short one-off, make writing a habit. Lots of people say "write daily," and that's a worthy goal if it fits your schedule and how your brain works, but maybe that's too high-pressure or untenable for you. But making it a habit, where you sit down regularly and do it (once a week, three times a week, once a day - doesn't matter), will definitely help build up the muscle so that when you need the words to be there, they are more likely to appear.
Read critically. What do you like about the writers/works you like? What don't you like about the writers/works you don't like? What's working? What isn't working? Why is/isn't it working?
Outlining is super helpful, especially for longer stories, but you should also know that there's about a million ways to do outlines and that your outline is not set in stone. You're allowed to change it! At any time! It's as flexible as you need it to be.
Read your own writing out loud, especially your dialogue. If you get tripped up on a sentence or turn of phrase or something sounding weird when you say it aloud, it's probably weird to read too.
Since most of my anons come from Overwatch and in particular YeeHan fandom: whatever urges you have to write in a character's dialect, dial them back by at least 50%. If you're doing your job, readers will hear in the character's voice even without, for example, dropping every G and spelling things as "yer" instead of "your," etc. Sincerely, a Southerner who's read a lot of WILDASS Cassidy dialogue.
At some point, you will probably look back on your writing and go, "God, that sucks." This is very normal. I don't know any writer who hasn't cringed over something older that they wrote. It means now you're better, because you've got the distance and the critical eye to see what you could have done differently. Don't let it get you down. One day you will hopefully also be able to see the parts of your writing that were good right from the start.
Finally, my favorite piece of writing advice of all time: stop telling yourself you can't write. If you can use social media, send text messages, chat on Discord, write down a recipe, whatever, you can write. It isn't some sacred ritual. It's just writing. You do it every day.

I feel and for myself for not shipping Kacy! Y’all are being well and truly served and I’ll admit I’m jealous lol. I’m not big on procedurals and usually need a grittier dynamic between my ships but I’m kind of wondering if I should give them another try? The one mostly sweet ship I liked lost me with the quickie wedding(Marina) and general silliness of the show after season 2. Anyway all my friends watch NCIS and of course it rules my dash, so I’m well informed, but the singing thing last season was a bit much for me and kind of put me off. But like you said it’s slim pickings right now and their issues seem so low stakes maybe it’ll be a nice change…
Oh, anon, I don't really know if I would recommend it to you, if you're only considering it because there's nothing else out there. If you tried it and already didn't like it, don't know that you'll enjoy it after forcing yourself, like, it's not gonna be less sweet this season than last...
I mean, they'e much sweeter than Marina, lol, who I didn't even consider that sweet, though they did have lots of schmaltzy moments, there were a lot of Other moments too. I actually felt they were one of the long-running ships that had some bite, considering how most long-run ships go. I mean, do messy ones last? I guess if you don't get them together. But if you do, like, recently, Industry had a quite messy one and you knew it'd never last. But maybe you like subtext more or don't mind if they break up, like on TLW (presumably)?
I guess it's a matter of personal experience/perspective too? Because the clear humiliation and then rejection in Kacy's first season for so long, enough for fans to start getting upset, it didn't feel sweet to me, you know? Like, yes, they're fairly normal people without terribly overwrought backgrounds so it didn't get particularly traumatic but all the same. And the singing, lol, my overactive sense of second hand embarrassment carried it way past sweet to like, "she's taking a bullet for her" territory. :P But gritty? I mean. They're no Villaneve, heh.
I'm trying to think of what else there is, that you might be into and hmm, Kevin Can Fuck Himself? That is...definitely interesting, whichever way it goes, but I guess most people are only finding the subtext ship particularly ship-worthy. Apple's See, they're actually probably the sweetest couple I've ever seen while in the grittiest setting. Of course you already know Harley Quinn. Bad Sisters, established couple with mostly background stuff. Ridley and After the Verdict, same thing, tbh. Prisma is...I wouldn't recommend that for the f/f. You know, Reboot, that you might like? The humor is like in Episodes so it's not really a shipping kind of show but the characters are interesting with a dynamic outside the ship, which is always a huge bonus.
Also, I don't watch but I exist on the internet, so I am aware of Critical Role and they seem to have a quite dramatic f/f thing going on, even if one of them is currently experiencing... a not alive event at the moment? I assume that'll be over at some point, but in terms of content and hype, that might be a cool thing to get into.

Banks of the Distant Future (Final Effect)
The nature of lien makes banking an interesting proposition in the distant future. Lien chips come in several forms. The most common forms are chips that are each worth a set amount. These chips are comparable to cash.
However, there are also personal lien chips. These chips function in a manner similar to a bank account in that they can hold a customisable amount of lien on them. In other words, if you wanted to put billions of lien onto a personal lien chip, then you could.
Naturally, this means that personal lien chips require greater security than regular lien chips. In general, personal lien chips not only look different from normal lien chips but also have inbuilt security of different kinds. First and foremost, they require password authorisation and will typically come with both biometric and Aura verification as well. It is also possible to add spending limits and other restrictions.
This might make banks seem obsolete (in a personal account sense), but banks continue to exist due to their ability to pay interest, offer loans, and provide other financial services. Banks also play a valuable role in securing an individual’s money.
Despite the protections in place, it is possible that the encryption on a personal lien chip can be cracked if that lien chip is stolen. This would allow thieves to make off with the contents of the chip, transferring its lien to their own accounts. There is also a more obvious problem. If a personal lien chip is stolen and cannot be retrieved, then its lien are effectively lost to the owner, regardless of whether or not the thieves can steal that lien.
As you can imagine, this has led to the use of personal lien chips being a matter worthy of careful consideration.
What most people use are bank-linked lien chips. Essentially, your lien is deposited to an account at a bank. You are then issued with a bank-linked lien chip that can transfer money from your account when you need it. It’s basically a debit card (although arrangement can be made for credit card functions).
The critical thing is that no lien is actually kept on the chip itself. It simply functions as a means of transferring lien when required. If a bank-linked chip is stolen, it can be cancelled, rendering it worthless to the thieves and protecting the owner’s money. At the same time, though, it can still make use of the various security features available to personal lien chips. In fact, it can theoretically make use of more since the bank can add additional security features on its end.
In the event that a bank-linked chip is somehow compromised, it can simply be cancelled, and the owner can be issued with a new chip. This ensures that the loss of the initial chip does not result in the loss of the owner’s wealth.
That said, bank-linked chips and personal chips do vary in at least one other very important way. A personal lien chip is essentially performing a peer-to-peer transfer with a merchant when it is used to pay for something. It does not need access to a broader network to operate. A bank-linked lien chip does need access to a broader network since it needs to communicate with both the merchant and the bank to perform properly.
This means that it is possible to monitor financial activity via bank-linked chips. Indeed, it is not unusual for this data to be requested from the bank by authorities during criminal proceedings. A personal lien chip also records spending activity, but these logs cannot be obtained without physical access to the personal lien chip. Many people concerned with privacy maintain both a bank-linked lien chip for purchases they don’t mind others possibly knowing about and a personal lien chip for purchases they wish to keep private.
Banks in the distant future tend to vary in terms of their purpose and their size. Some specialise primarily in serving members of the general public. Others specialise in providing funds for commercial customers. Some banks serve particular sectors whilst others focus on certain geographic regions. In general, a savvy customer can find a bank that best suits their needs without too much difficulty.
The most powerful banks are the central banks. The three largest such institutions are the Imperial Reserve Bank of Arendelle, the Mercantile Alliance Reserve Bank, and the Federation Reserve Bank. These institutions conduct monetary policy for their respective factions and are tasked with overseeing stability across the financial system as a whole.
One of the pivotal events in the fall of the Federation was the mass resignation of the chief officers of the Federation Reserve Bank following several disastrous changes in monetary policy by the Federation’s government. These changes left the Federation Reserve Bank almost completely powerless, eventually leading to its insolvency and collapse. This devastated the Federation financial system.
The head of the Imperial Reserve Bank of Arendelle is personally appointed by the ruler of the empire and answers to them alone. However, their position necessitates a close degree of cooperation with the various ministers associated with finance, commerce, and so on.

Why do parents totally freak out when their grown child goes to the mailbox to retrieve a couple of tshirts that the kid bought online with their own money. Why do parents throw a tantrum about that and yell at the grown kid and give them a whole lecture about it. Can I live please. Can I just live. Can I just please exist without you jumping on me for nothing every five seconds.
Parents are crazy man. How are they so old and so mature and yet act like toddlers so much of the time.
If I acted like them. If I did the same things to them that they do me everyday. I would have been put into a psych ward years ago. And yet when a parents does those things to a kid it’s somehow just normal parenting and nothing unusual.
Why do most parents think their child is not equal to them at all??? Why do parents think their child is lesser than??? Why do parents think their child is subhuman???? Why do parents think their children are not worthy of human rights??? Even when the child is grown young adult the parents will still treat them same way like a 5 year old. Why?????
Why do presents even have kids if they hate kids or are not able to take care of a kid??????????
Parents in general are traumatizing to their children even if the kids are well loved and being raised right.
Nobody should ever have that much control over another human beings life. It is traumatizing how much control parents have over their children.
And it is also traumatizing for the parents with how much control the child has over them. Like what do you mean you can’t live your life the way you want to because you have a kid to take care of???? What do you mean a grown adult can’t hang out with their friends all day and can’t have fun and can’t just live their life because they have to get home to the place they have to pay exspensive bills for and have to to take care of a exspensive little gremlin that doesn’t even understand how much the parent is sacrificing for them yet and possibly will never understand even when they’re older???????
Kids are traumatizing to their parents by just existing!!!!!!
Parents are traumatizing to their kids by just existing!!!!!!!
It’s a loose / loose situation!!!!!! How bout we all just stop having kids then!!!!! How about the existing parents and kids actually do their best to not traumatize each other!!!!!! (Even tho it is inevitable)
Sorry. I just hate the concept of parents and children and family in general and I just needed to rant about it for a moment.

by definition, love is an intense feeling of deep affection—or it can be known as a great interest and pleasure in something. for some people, love can take one unique form. for other people, like courtney elizabeth whitmore for example, love takes multiple forms with various definitions and situations. in this writing series, treating this one as a preamble, we are going to explore love as it is seen throughout courtney’s life: her self-love, familial love, romantic love and aspirations, her passions and hobbies, and the love for her beloved justice society of america.
Tumblr media
courtney’s love for herself travels in waves, much like a rollercoaster. on some days, it is at such a high frequency that her confidence displays itself to those who don’t even know her. however, most days she is second guessing herself and her actions. should she be stargirl? why was she trusted enough with the lives of the citizens of blue valley, nebraska? was she worthy enough? was she useless? especially when her staff was misbehaving, off in its own galaxy, courtney fet like she could not help the town of blue valley like she was normally able to. she felt horrible sitting on the sidelines, watching as the rest of the justice society (which she formed) saved the day.
when her cosmic staff was working the way it did the day she picked it up for a ride in the sky for the first time, she felt like she could rule the world. of course, she only meant to use her newly found abilities for the good of helping others. she was reminded of the happiness and joy that los angeles and her former gymnastics team gave her. this joy was what gave her the confidence to carry on the mantle as the next generation’s star spangled kid—otherwise known as stargirl.
Tumblr media
courtney only has one biological parent in her life: her mother, barbara whitmore-dugan. although courtney’s mother was always working when she was younger in los angeles, she was still her mother. barbara always made sure that courtney was out of harm’s way. without courtney’s father in the picture, barbara needed to be there for her daughter. and she was. even after moving to blue valley, courtney knew that her mother made time to be the parent that she needed despite working all the time. this was what spoke loud to courtney. this was how she knew that she was loved. and courtney, naturally, loved her mother right back.
at first, courtney did not want a new dad, let alone a new younger brother. she was perfectly fine with life being just her mother and herself. it took at least an entire school year for courtney to feel more comfortable around patrick and mike. patrick was the only person who came close to a father-figure for courtney—aside from mr. kramer back in los angeles. after some time had passed whilst becoming stargirl, courtney learned to love patrick and mike truly as a father and brother, respectively.
Tumblr media
when people see courtney, they automatically assume that she loves anyone and everyone. this is most likely due to her mannerisms. what those people don’t know, however, is that courtney is actually bisexual and biromantic—at least, she is bisexual on earth-2 (pre & post crisis on infinite earths). in the cw tv series, though, it is present that courtney and cameron mahkent have some sort of relationship going on between them. it is safe to say that the relationship is either one-sided or non-existant altogether. on the other hand, courtney has a big crush on cindy burman, and she feels extremely awful that things have turned out the way they have between the two women.
similarly to the cw series, in the dc comics, courtney and billy batson have a relationship. in my portrayal and understanding, however, that relationship is merely just a soulmate/platonic/one-sided relationship. courtney is still, and will always be, bisexual. it is safe to assume that she and billy are best friends and allies within the dc extended universe (specifically for the sake of my portrayal). love can be both platonic and romantic, and in this situation, courtney’s love for billy is one hundred percent platonic.
Tumblr media
one of courtney’s primary passions is helping others. this is why being stargirl is so important to her. without her cosmic staff and the title of stargirl, she feels like she cannot accurately help those in dire need. courtney was raised to be the opposite of her biological father; she was raised to be good to others. to be the person that others can depend on and listen to. courtney has been looking for someone to depend on in her own life, so it is necessary for her to be that person for someone else in the world.
before she was stargirl, courtney was an advanced level gymnast and at least a blue belt in tai-kwon-do. she performed gymnastics alongside her best friend, mary kramer. when she moved to blue valley, she did not continue with gymnastics. she easily could have joined a new gym, but since she was so close to placing in the trials for the olympics, leaving that behind with los angeles really put a damper on her training altogether. now, though, she applies her gymnastics and tai-kwon-do skills to being stargirl and saving the town of blue valley, nebraska from the injustice society of america.
Tumblr media
for the longest time, about a year to be exact, courtney thought that her biological father was the original starman. why else was she able to work alongside the cosmic staff? wasn’t sylvester pemberton supposed to be the only person allowed to control it? there must have been a reason for that. the hope that starman gave courtney was just the right amount in order for her to believe in herself. that love is super rare, and some say it is a super attractive (in a platonic sense) look on someone. she needed something (or someone) to believe in, especially at that time in her life.
this is also where the new justice society of america comes in. courtney formed a new group of superheroes containing students (who were all outcasts) who sat with her in the lunch room. for only having met that school year, the new jsa surprisingly worked well together—so well that they were the center of all of courtney’s attention rather than her school work. without the new jsa, courtney would just be the new girl again. she wouldn’t have anyone else to turn to that was her own age. being in that position was the worst possible place that she could imagine being in.

solar microinverters vs optimizers: Going solar involves more than just the solar panels on your roof. After all, this technology is cutting-edge down to your installation's most effective solar panel micro-inverters.
You can be confident that the equipment you'll receive when going solar with Solar SME is the highest standard and most capable available. We work that increases every homeowner's solar system performance, for this reason.
A micro-inverter is a part that attaches to a single solar panel and transforms the DC (direct current) generated by the panel into AC (alternating current), which can be used to power appliances within the home or fed into the grid to earn energy credits. Micro-inverters, in contrast to string inverters, regulate the output of a single panel.
The inverter is similar to the system's brain in solar power systems. It transforms the direct current (DC) electricity generated by solar panels into alternating current (AC), which can be utilized to power your appliances and entered into the utility system.
Micro-inverters, however, is unique. Each micro-inverter in a micro-inverter solar energy system is paired with a separate panel. Consequently, 24 micro-inverters—one for each panel—would be put in the same 24-panel system.
Advantages of Micro-Inverters
Due to their configuration, micro-inverters differ significantly from string inverters in a few important ways that make up for their greater price.
Power Optimization: We first need a little information about how string inverters operate before we can describe the issue that power optimizers and micro-inverters are designed to tackle. Pairs of panels are connected in series when using a typical string inverter. If there are 8 panels in a string, they are all connected to the same circuit and are therefore subject to the same electrical properties.
If the output of just one panel decreases, the circuit as a whole will also decrease to match the lower output of the underperforming panel. If one panel in a string of 350W panels drops below the 300W output threshold, the entire string is limited to that level. Each panel in the array is separated from the others by micro-inverters. Even if one of the shaded panels is reduced to 300W, the other panels continue to operate normally and output at their 350W capacity.
As a result, micro-inverters enable you to generate more power from the same solar panels. Micro-inverters are a worthy investment in locations where trees or other obstacles will shade your solar panels.
With micro-inverters, each panel is isolated from the rest of the solar array. One shaded panel may drop to 300W, but the rest of the panels remain unaffected and continue to produce at their 350W capacity.
Easy Installation: Standard AC wire, such that is used throughout your home, is used by micro-inverters. Additionally, each unit plugs into the next, making them all plug-and-play devices.
As they use common AC wiring and only require a few seconds to plug in each unit, micro-inverters are very simple to install and connect.
Expandable Design: Micro-inverter systems can effectively be as little or as huge as you want them to be due to their 1-to-1 nature. You can begin with a single panel and micro-inverter combination if you'd like. There won't be a problem if more panels are added later because none of the existing equipment needs to be relocated or rewired to make room for the addition.
Meets Module-Level Rapid Shutdown Requirements: With micro-inverters, you have more flexibility in how your array is laid up. You may need to build a system to distribute solar panels across several portions of your roof, depending on how your roof is set up. Since each panel's output is isolated while using micro-inverters, you can disperse the panels in any way you like without worrying about output.
Why Do I Need a Solar Micro Inverter?
You need a way to transmit the power from your solar panels directly to the electrical breaker box in your house, just like with any other solar panel installation. In our opinion, a micro inverter is superior to older string inverters in terms of effectiveness and efficiency.
A typical string inverter has the disadvantage of enabling the solar system to only generate as much electricity as its least productive panel. The others will also collapse if one panel does.
A micro inverter, on the other hand, is set up under each panel in the area between the solar panel and your roof. Your system will be able to use all of the electricity that each solar panel is capable of producing because each solar panel has its micro inverter.
Yes, microinverters work with solar backup batteries that are AC-connected. In the solar sector, AC-coupled batteries are relatively new and offer simple compatibility between solar panel systems and solar battery storage.
This is especially true if your solar panel system was updated, as adding a DC-coupled solar battery could raise installation costs because a DC-coupled system requires more complicated wiring.
When Are Micro-Inverters the Right Choice?
The greatest alternative if you have to design your system in less-than-perfect conditions is micro-inverters. Micro-inverters make sure your system generates as much power as feasible even if some of your panels will be shaded or some of the arrays will face East/West owing to the design of your roof.
