Twisted Entertainment News ～April Fools 2024～

The Aniplex Youtube Channel dropped a parody news segment for April Fools Day, which had Kazuki Furuta (Kalim) and Kaname Futaba (Jamil) as "commentators." A full official MMD clip of Absolutely Beautiful was shown, and afterwards, Furuta and Futaba "taught" the viewers back home how to do the dance. I don't normally do transcriptions of videos, but this one made me laugh with enjoyment that I wanted to make sure that everyone else could enjoy it too, especially since I know this video is region-locked. I've highlighted Furuta and Futaba's names with the colors for Kalim and Jamil's that I usually use for their vignettes. I've also added small commentary on their movements and expressions, which is not something I normally have to do for vignettes. I also only translated the "news" portion of the video and left out the final part, which was them returning to reality and talking about the monitors in the in-game shop that could be bought for the Guest Room. It’s time for Twisted Entertainment News, where we report on all the hottest entertainment topics. I have with me today two very well-known commentators who have appeared on so many of the variety talk shows as of late: Kazuki Furuta-san and Kaname Futaba-san.

Commentator Kazuki Furuta: Good evening, I’m Kazuki Furuta. I’m beyond honored to have been asked to come on this show as a commentator. Thank you very much for inviting me.

Commentator Kaname Futaba: Good evening, I’m Kaname Futaba. You know, I really dig Twisted Entertainment News.

Furuta: I do hear you say that often.

Futaba: Yeah. I watch it every week, and even record it.

Furuta: Indeed.

Futaba: I’m really hoping we’ll have a ton of great things to talk about. Thanks for having me.

Yasuda: Well, let’s get right into today’s entertainment news. First, Magical Motors is finally venturing into space. Second, are the rumors that the Mysterious Amusement Park is closing true!? And finally, the Absolute Dance is the current breakout trend. Of these three topics, the Absolute Dance is probably the most eye-catching, so, Furuta-san, Futaba-san, have you heard of this dance before?

Furuta: Very much so. It is very popular even in my circles, so not a day goes by that I do not come across it.

Futaba: I’ve known about it for some time now, too. So, I guess it feels like the times have finally caught up.

Furuta: You’re so right.

Futaba: Yeah.

Yasuda: Now then, we’ve prepared a video to show what exactly this dance is all about. Please take a look.

Yasuda: …Right. The students performed this song and dance at the school’s cultural festival and this garnered a lot of hype.

Furuta: [jumping in] Hype!

Yasuda: …Right. I do believe that this is a rather complicated dance that cannot be mastered just from watching it once. So, today I hoped to have our commentators, Furuta-san and Futaba-san, to show those of you watching this show at home how to perform it so that everyone can dance along.

Futaba: I see.

Furuta: Of course.

Yasuda: Furuta-san, I’ve heard that you may be a commentator, but you are also a very good dancer.

Furuta: [sounding like he wants to protest politely but is also smug at the praise] Ah, well― that is― by myself, I― [background music cuts] Yes, I am!

Yasuda: Right, thank you. And so, I was hoping we could receive an instructional demonstration from you on how this dance is performed.

Furuta: [politely but smugly trying to refute] Ah, that― Heh― Of course.

Yasuda: Wonderful, we would be so grateful.

Furuta: Of course! Now, I’ve chosen 4 specific points of the song to dance to in order to help anyone master the Absolute Dance. Those of you watching, please feel free to dance along!

Furuta: I’m so glad to hear that. [turns back to the camera] I'll now dance the part with Jamil’s rap.

Futaba: [quietly, to himself] Really shocking.

[Music begins to lead into Jamil's rap, Furuta prepares himself to start dancing]

Futaba: [quietly, to himself] Man, I’m still reeling from that shocker.

One thing I love about Hadestown is it really seems like every performer is able to make their interpretation of the character so authentically theirs. With it being basically a completely sung through show, people are able to really show their portrayal through their vocals, and I think that’s so cool! You hear so many different colors and tones in different casts, and everyone has different ways to sing the songs.

I really love that they let Orpheus have differences in portrayals as well. I think he is a character that could fall into a trap of repeated sounds, but thankfully that isn’t the case. I’ve seen Reeve and Chibueze, and ofc seen and heard many clips, and it’s so cool to see and hear the differences. Reeve plays into the shyness and gentleness that Orpheus has. He seems like a young man navigating through circumstances he doesn’t quite understand, but just knows he’s drawn to pursue it. Chibueze’s Orpheus is more soulful, quieter at first but you can feel him find his voice the more he sings. You can feel there is something otherworldly in his songs. Jordan is a grittier version of Orpheus, still youthful and so loving, but he feels so deeply that every time he sings while he’s in pain it’s agonizing. And there’s so many more amazing performances I haven’t even talked about!

All this to say, I love how open Hadestown is to so many amazing styles and feelings. I think that’s part of its appeal and hopeful longevity—it isn’t afraid to give you something different, and it invites artists to explore and create something new. They aren’t giving you a carbon copy of one cast ever, and it’s so cool.

When the news of you and Andrew dating got out three years ago, fans and the media had a field day.

It wasn’t because you were anyone famous—quite the opposite. Being someone with a normal job, you and Andrew had basked in finally going outside as a couple, and it was how adorable the pictures looked that had everyone freaking out.

One picture was of you laughing, Andrew’s arms around you from behind as he wrapped his coat around you as he wore it, a grin on his face.

Another picture was of you looking at him, eyes set on one another with his hands tangled in your hair, while the other was of him kissing you and despite the photo not being one in high quality, everyone could still see the small smirk he had as you kissed.

It was no surprise when fans posted edits of you together, and although the content they got was minimal, considering your lack of presence in interviews and public press, it was always a field day when you appeared beside him on a red carpet or when you both did as little as grab yourselves some coffee.

The video started with Andrew and Zendaya’s Actor on Actor interview when they first started talking about Zendaya’s performance on Euphoria.

“Makes me want to cry. I didn’t feel like there was any acting. It felt like you were living through something in such an authentic way,” Andrew said, “And I remember I watched episode 5 with Y/N—with my girlfriend, and she was just like, ‘Andy, can you check up on Zendaya?’”

Zendaya smiled, being her usual self who got flustered at any compliment or praise, “She did text me that night, I remember.”

“She did,” he nodded, “She was so heartbroken over the episode.”

The video then moved to show Andrew during his Wired Autocomplete interview, the foam board in his hand as he took off the sticker that hid the question.

“Does Andrew Garfield sing in Tick, Tick…Boom?” He read, “So, Andrew Garfield does sing in Tick, Tick…Boom, yes. Thank you,” he answered, “I worked very, very closely with an amazing vocal coach, Liz Caplan, and all of Lin Manuel Miranda’s amazing musical direction team. They enabled me to open my voice up to the point where I could honor Jon’s songs and feel confident enough to belt them out as he always did when he was doing his one-man show,” he nodded slight, “It was a privilege to be able to learn a skill that I’ve always wanted to attain but my girlfriend wouldn’t really agree,” he chuckled, looking at the camera, “Y/N’s had enough of my singing, because every time I’d learn something new, it’d be the only thing I’d be doing around our home and she’s incredible, she has a job that she needs to focus on and rest from, but I was always there singing and annoying her,” he laughed, “She’s a gem for putting up with me.”

Another clip then played as Andrew read Buzzfeed’s thirst tweets, headphones on his ears.

“Andrew Garfield if you see this on your secret Twitter account, I’m free this weekend if you want to get lunch or drinks or something, just let me know. If you want to do it earlier, I can do dinner during the week,” he chuckled as he read the tweet, “But I’m usually busy before six,” he finished with a laugh, leaning back in his seat, “I love that. That’s very, very—I like hyper-vigilance. I like specificity of plans,” he said, “But I’m going to have to give you a rain check on that because I’m actually busy on the weekend, unless you want to join in on my girlfriend and I’s date, then it’s fine by me,” he laughed, “I can do lunch during the week though, but we’re going to have to have that at Y/N’s office because that’s where you’ll usually find me having my lunch.”

The clip then moved to Andrew on the Ellen show, getting asked about Spider-Man: No Way Home, and having to lie to people.

“Who knew? Beside your agent, who knew that you were doing this? I mean, how hard is that? To keep it to—I mean, your family knew?” Ellen asked him.

“Yeah, my dad, my brother, and my mother at the time,” he answered with a smile, “Yeah, just kind of us. It was fun to keep it secret,” he grinned, “Because you know when you’re planning a surprise birthday party for someone, and then you’re like, tell me, you know I hate surprises, but I can see it on your face that you’re just like ‘I’m not gonna tell you’,” he shook his head with his wide grin, “So it felt like I was part of organizing a surprise birthday party for a bunch of people whom I knew would appreciate it.”

“Did your girlfriend know?”

Beaming even more, “Y/N had no idea,” he said, laughing, “And—lying to the media, to the fans, that was easy and fun, but lying to my girlfriend has got to be—it was one of the most agonizing and terrible things I have ever done.”

“You lied to her for what? Two years?”

“Technically, it was a year and a few months,” Andrew pointed.

“And how—how did she take that? I’d be pretty offended.”

He laughed, shaking his head, “She wasn’t, she wasn’t. I knew she’d appreciate it because she knows how I feel about my experience with the character, and it was—I’ll tell you something,” he sat up, smiling, “It was worth every single moment where I had to tell her I was shooting for another movie when I saw her reaction when we went to watch it together,” he said, “We had to watch it again because she couldn’t really focus after I was on screen,” he laughed, “But yeah, it—it was definitely hard having to lie to her, and it definitely made her tease me about trust for a while, but she supported me throughout without even knowing.”

The clip then moved to the last one, being from a recent interview with GQ of 10 things Andrew can’t live without.

In a t-shirt and sporting a full beard, he held a silver necklace with a compass on it.

“This is a necklace with a compass on it,” he said, holding the necklace in his hands before the camera zoomed on it before it showed him again, “My girlfriend Y/N gave this to me in a period where I needed to trust the direction I was going, even if I didn’t know where I was going,” he chuckled, looking at it, “It’s become such a symbol of our relationship because in a way, to me, it feels like it navigates us both back to where we have always met, toward our common interests and our differences that initially made us attracted to each other. But she’s always been very persistent on her support for me and my journey in my career, and my journey as a person, so this necklace is just a reminder from her that the direction I’m headed in is always one I can find value in,” he smiled, “My relationship with Y/N is very essential to me. She’s just—She’s truly my person, and this necklace is a symbol of the deep connection we have with each other.”

(Playing Leah and Matthew Hampton in the new movie, The Good and Bad Days)

“I honestly think my amazing singing abilities shouldn’t go unnoticed. I’m going to have my breakthrough one day,” You shrugged, speaking more to the crew behind the camera. Chuckles passed around, and Harry joined them.

“Yeah, what’s the name of your single going to be?” He asked, genuinely interested in your idea.

“I’ll probably name it after a vegetable because you apparently love singing about fruits and naming your songs after them.” Both you and Harry shared sneaky smirks, before glancing at the camera. “Think I just gave away a secret. Sorry not sorry.” Harry’s new album, Fine Line, hadn’t come out yet, nor did people know the names of the songs, so your comment exploded on stan Twitter.

Harry sighed, “Trying to expose me now, competitor?”

You pointed at the camera and exclaimed, “I’m coming for all those Grammys.”

“I thought you were rooting for me to get one?”

“I can’t root for the competition anymore, sorry,” You frowned, reaching a hand out across the table. Harry instantly took it, even though he was supposed to pretend he was offended, but he wouldn’t pass an opportunity to touch you. “I’ll add your name under mine in Sharpie so we can share it.”

[Agree To Disagree]

You and Harry looked at the table that had ‘Strongly Agree, Agree, Disagree, and Strongly Disagree written down in a line.

“I thought we were going to be working together,” Harry cocked a brow up, noticing two cups filled with water in front of each of you.

“Honey, it’s called Agree to Disagree,” you snorted, “we’re supposed to debate.” The producers had explained the simple concept to the both of you earlier, and Harry was there nodding at their words, but for some reason forgot everything that was said.

You slapped your hand on your forehead while Harry huffed, “This isn’t going to go well at all.”

“Why so?” You asked, feeling for his feet under the table. There was no cloth covering the sides, so the camera captured Harry tangling his legs with yours. The fans were already in the mist of making edits with that clip.

“Because the nights when we’re up talking, and supposedly “debating” about stuff, I always end up agreeing with you in the end.”

You looked at the camera and smirked. “All true. I’m one persuasive gal.” Instead of verbally agreeing, Harry pushed his glass over to Strongly Agree, and a chorus of laughter strung around the room.

“I think that’s why we’re working out just peachy.”

“Did you just label our relationship peachy?” You squinted your eyes at him.

Harry only shrugged. “I like fruits, what can I say?”

“Alright I’m ready,” you rubbed your hands together and wiggled your brows at your boyfriend across from you.

HARRY’S ACCENT SOUNDS BETTER THAN Y/N’S

Both you and Harry darted your eyes to your glasses then to each other. You were the first to break out into loud laughter, throwing your head back. Harry rolled his lips inwards and sighed.

“Okay wait, let’s choose then talk about this,” You put one hand up while the other moved your glass to Strongly Agree. Harry paused, thinking about it, before sliding his glass to Disagree. “Oh? You don’t agree?”

He shook his head and leaned back into his chair. “I think yours is beautiful.”

“Oh, what a suck-up,” You laughed, kicking him softly. He blushed slightly and adjusted in his seat. “I know for a fact, Mr. Narcissist, that you think your accent is ten times better than mine.”

“No,” He frowned. You turned to face the camera and gave it a bored look. “Y/N, I always compliment your accent. I think it suits you very well.”

“That doesn’t mean you don’t absolutely adore the power your accent has over the world,” You smirked. Harry stayed silent, and you flipped your hair behind your shoulder dramatically. “Would you like me to move your glass?” You asked him.

He shook his head and wrapped his hand around it to push it farther, landing on Strongly Disagree. Instead of acknowledging your scoff, he turned to the crew and camera.

“Y/N has a lovely accent and I think it’s better than mine. Signed Harry E. Styles,” Harry announced, before using the tip of his finger to scribble on the table.

“Well, there you have it folks,” You laughed.

“Next.”

DOGS ARE BETTER COMPANIONS THAN CATS

You both didn’t hesitate to drag your glasses to Strongly Agree, before leaning forward to high five each other.

“No need to bother debating about that,” Y/N rested her chin in her palm, elbow on the table.

Harry said, “I think cats are great, but dogs are just better. Nothing against them,” he then motioned to you, “and Y/N said her spirit animal is an Australian Shepherd, so I think that just enhances my love for dogs even more.”

You giggled and scrunched your nose at him. “Thank you, honey.” Then you pointed at him. “But you know, people started comparing you to cats, so that might be your spirit animal.”

“Do they now?” Harry smiled.

“Yeah, but I agree with them. Especially cuddling-wise. You snuggle up on me just like a cat would, which I love very much.”

The crew behind the camera awed and laughed as Harry blushed at his girlfriend. “I will neither confirm nor deny that.”

“You’re never beating those cat allegations, kid.”

The producer suddenly spoke up. “So, if we were to bring out a litter of puppies and kittens, which would you want to—”

“Wait, that’s unfair. Both puppies and kittens are adorable. I love them both,” You groaned.

“You immediately moved your glass to Strongly Agree, Y/N,” They laughed.

Harry chipped in, “No, I get it. Dogs and cats are different from puppies and kittens.”

You crossed your arms over each other. “Even though it would be difficult, I’d still choose the puppies. But I would, like, sneak a hand over to pet some kittens,” You said, slowly reaching over for Harry’s hand and brushing the back of it.

“Oh, am I said kitten?” He questioned with a chuckle.

“It’s the snuggling. You can’t convince me otherwise that you aren’t spiritually a cat.”

Y/N IS A BETTER SINGER THAN HARRY

Harry glared at the crew with a smirk, knowing they were just trying to get him in trouble. Y/N only shrugged and moved her glass to Strongly Agree.

“I’ve asked him multiple times if I could be featured in one of his songs, but he said my singing f[bleep]king sucks,” Y/N said. Harry immediately slammed a hand on the table and scoffed loudly.

“I never said that!”

Y/N gave him a bored look. “Did you not?”

“I would never, I think your voice is amazing,” He started, nudging his leg against hers, “but what I did say was: I wasn’t doing any collaborations on the album. It has nothing to do with you, babe.”

Y/N stared at him blankly, before turning to the camera. “Did he not just say the same damn thing I just did?”

Everyone laughed.

“Jesus, Y/N,” Harry sighed.

WINTER IS BETTER THAN SUMMER

Both you and Harry had to think about it. You tapped your nails against the glass.

“I’m torn because I like both,” You said to Harry. He nodded, before looking back down at the table. “We go to the beach and stuff during the summer, but I really like traveling with you during winter. Especially during the holidays and New Years, ya know?”

“Is it because you get to kiss me, Ms. L/N?” Harry wiggled his brows. You blinked at him, before looking at the camera.

“Maybe summer isn’t so bad after all.”

“Hey!”

You finally decided to move your glass to Agree, then Harry followed. “Why so, Mr. Harold?” Your chin found your palm again.

He shrugged, “You like winter better, and I like you, so that’s enough convincing I need.” Yeah, the fandom was going crazy over the video, and you were scared to open any social media platforms the next day.

“See, I’m very persuasive without even needing to try.”

“But actually, I do enjoy winter activities more, like the outdoor ice skating and the cliché hot chocolate while laying together near a fire. I’m a real romantic,” Harry said.

“You should be in a rom-com. I’d kill to see you in one,” You exclaimed. “But I think I’d get jealous of the female lead, so probably not.”

Harry smirked, “Who said you wouldn’t be the female lead?” Both of you winked at the camera. “Besides, I do all the rom-com stuff from the movies with you in real life.”

“That is true.” You turned to the crew to tell a quick story. “Last year, the week before Christmas, we went to New York and did all the most cheesy ‘couples during the holiday’ things ever. Remember?” Harry nodded. “Then went to his hometown to do it all over again. And come Christmas Eve—”

“Stayed up with hot chocolate, cookies, Christmas karaoke and movies, and watched Santa on a tracker to see when he’d stop by. It was great,” Harry finished, sighing while he reminisced.

You did too. “New Years was fun, as well.”

“Don��t worry, we’ll do everything again this year,” Harry held your hand.

“I’m counting on it.”

HARRY SHOULD BE CONSIDERED IN THE RUNNING FOR THE SEXIEST MAN ALIVE MAGAZINE

Harry waited for your decision first with a smirk. You only furrowed your brows in thought. “What?” Harry asked you.

“I mean, I don’t really need a magazine to remind me that you’re the sexiest man alive. I always know that,” You shrugged. Harry covered his eyes in embarrassment. He was horrible with compliments, especially from people who’s opinion mattered a lot to him.

The producer said, “Can I add a glass so I can put it on Strongly Agree because I definitely agree with your statement.”

“He’s not going to say what he thinks, so you can use his,” You said, moving Harry’s glass to Strongly Agree. You pushed your own next to his, before turning in your chair to the producer. “People magazine should start a yearly ‘Funniest Dad Joker Man Alive’ then Harry would love to be considered in the running. Can you reach out to them and ask?”

The producer gave you a thumbs up. Harry giggled, keeping his hand over his eyes, but his dimpled smile was a dead giveaway that he was enjoying this.

“I’d like him to run for ‘Most Beautiful Man Alive’ because then that should make me the most beautiful woman by association, right?” You suggested.

“Not exactly, but we do think you’d win,” The producer said.

“Also, there should be a couples version,” You shook your finger.

“For sexiest or most beautiful?” Harry chipped in to ask. His hand moved from his eyes so you could look at him.

You shrugged nonchalantly, “Either or, we’d win anyways.” Harry threw his head back to laugh. “What other category would we dominate for a couple’s version?”

Harry bit his lip to think about it. You could tell he was coming up with a Harry joke simply from his slow smile.

“Oh no,” You chuckled.

“Best Accents, specifically Y/N,” He looked at the camera.

You shook your head at him. “Please tell me you weren't still thinking about that, honey. We moved on.”

“I could’ve brought up the collaboration—”

“Okay, next one!”

THE GOOD AND BAD DAYS NEEDS A SEQUEL

You thought that was actually a great question because you weren’t sure.

“I mean,” You slurred, slowly moving your glass to Agree. Harry kept a short smile on his lips as he stared at you, rather than your glass. You suddenly grew shy. “What?”

“You’re very pretty. I like looking at you.”

You rolled your eyes and placed your hand between your face and Harry’s line of vision. Harry’s legs played with yours, but you upright ignored him.

“I think there should be a sequel, because even though I think it ended perfectly, people would probably want more of Leah and Matthew’s story. They’d want to know what they’re doing after the circumstances of the ending—can’t say much until it’s out—but I’d like another movie.”

Harry nodded in agreement. “I think whether there’s a sequel or not, Leah and Matthew got what they really needed. They are happy, which calls for a happy ending. And more conflicts will definitely show up in their long run, so if another movie wants to touch on that, I’d love to see it,” he said.

“I think you guys are going to like the movie as it is and don’t even need a sequel because you’ll be satisfied. But we’ll see,” You shrugged.

“Thank you so much for having us,” Harry spoke first.

“Go check out The Good and Bad Days when it comes out in theaters,” You added. “Have a great day, sincerely, from your favorite peachy couple.”

Harry laughed and raised a thumbs up. “Bye.”

Yes, I’ve seen the cast list and the HH clip! Remember y’all, I have a twitter, I tweeted some thoughts about it there!

But to sum it up, animation was an eye sore to look at, the camera work was— bad…very bad, you could get motion sickness looking at it and the bright colors once again don’t help. The clip honestly looked…unfinished or edited in a way, like Charlie’s song was cut off a bit. I really want it to be pleasing to look at, and it’s just…not, for the same issues the HH pilot had. Everything moves so fast and not one shot is still or lingers.

As for the voice actors…I can’t really say much other than good for them. Some of (if not the entire cast) are very talented people, I’m a huge musical theater nerd so I knew who Christain Borle was immediately, him as Vox and Keith David as Husk shocked me. We have yet to hear these new actors so we’ll see. I already said this on twitter but I personally don’t think Borle’s voice will fit Vox. His voice is very soft and gentle, and Vox comes off to me as someone with a deep voice. If anything, as someone who’s heard Borle’s amazing singing and acting, he would have been a great Lucifer.

The elephant in the room is that the pilot cast deserved better. I really did feel like they were good, cause I personally don’t like Alastor’s new voice and especially Angel’s (who I’m sorry, but it feels like he’s just trying so hard to impersonate Kovach) it just…sucks, but I of course have no ill judgment against the new voice actors, just that they’re all too talented to be saying the shit dialogue that Viv comes up with. I do feel like it’ll take me a bit to get used to the new voices ofc (Stephanie B as Vaggie seems to be the only one I’m cool with cause Charlie sounds off) but again…we’ll see eventually.

Matty Healy's parents are actors Tim Healy and Denise Welch, overseas 1D fans may know his mum from this Loose Women interview with 1D. His parents had a messy public divorce covered in Tabloids.

1999 - When his mum was featured on This is Your Life, in this clip, 10 year old Matty said he wanted to be "a popstar and top class musician" with his mum looking tense.

2002 - the 1975 was formed with school friends in Manchester, it will be 10 years before they have success.

2009 - 1975 met and was unsigned by every major label. Their manager formed an independent label and signed them for £20.

2010 - One Direction is formed on X-Factor with Harry, 5 years younger also from Cheshire, 30 minutes drive from Mattys hometown of Wilmslow, both near Manchester. 1D becomes a national sensation and sign a £1m record deal with a major label.

2011 - One Direction continues to grow with the X-Factor tour, records Up All Night and starts their own tour.

And that's the end of the 2014, interaction, between Matty appearing in the 1989 t-shirt and the meltdown was 1 month, and Harry and Taylor were seen together in that time. Taylor did go to one 1975 concert without Harry, 2 days before Matty melted down.

2016, March to Q Magazine, (and widely reported) Matty said:

“I feel like I’m not very good at relationships,” he’d said, and I wondered why. Healy explained the jumble of reasons – insecurity, self-obsession, a fear of misrepresentation. Was it also, I asked, a fear of losing himself? He nodded. “Absolutely. And the reason I mention that is because if I had [properly] gone out with Taylor Swift the first thing I would’ve [thought was] ‘Fucking hell I am NOT being Taylor Swift’s boyfriend.’ You know, FUCK. THAT.” Then he had added an afterthought: “That’s also a man thing, a de-masculinating, emasculating thing.”

In 2016 Matty was dating Gabby and they posted to instagram a lot, like this photo of them at Coachella together in 2016. They seem happy and committed, they dated for another 3 years. He toured the whole year, (dates) South East Asia January, UK/Europe March - April. Coachella 24 April (they were in Canada on the 29th) then US & Canada until July. Back to SE Asia & UK in August, South America in September, US again in October with shows every other night.

2017

They continued touring constantly, (dates) Uk/europe January, February. South America March, April. US/Canada April - July.

2017 - November - Matty went to Rehab, they didn't tour till 2019. Matty was still dating Gabby.

I'm skipping ahead a few years, Matty brings Taylor and Harry up alot, like in random interviews with Zane Lowe, Nick Grimshaw etc. But the vibe is often separating him from success. I wonder if he is also reminding others he knows them.

In May Taylor and Joe went public, dated till 2023.

2019

2019 - February 19 Matty breaks up with Gabriella Brooks, who he dated since 2015.

3 January - MH asks to produce Harry's next album… via twitter…. and says Harry has blocked him.

4 October - Matty Healy interview where he says he wants to produce Taylors record (said about Harry earlier the year) and went on to say 'that taylor swift song about supporting gay people, when it came out we already knew that."

2020, January 20 - Matty starts dating FKA Twigs, they dated until 2022

2020, February Taylor, Joe and Matty are at the NME Awards:

Healy said: “I went over to her. I was like, ‘Taylor, we need to make the record.’ No, I didn’t. She said hello to every single person. Obviously it’s Taylor Swift so everyone was saying hello. “She was just stood behind me. I mean, I haven’t seen Taylor in years so it was actually a really nice room. But it, unfortunately, wasn’t the time for me to pitch my post-rock Joni Mitchell project to [her].”

2022

2022, June 7 - Matty breaks up with FKA Twigs who he dated since 2020

Collaboration with Jack Antonoff

2022 - 5 January - 14 February - he works with Jack Antonoff. The band did not work with Jack before 5 January 2022. On 5 January they were in Real World Studios (i.e. not Electric Lady with Jack) and the record was complete by 14 February 2022. It is an album made to be played live and Jack did not write lyrics, under 6 weeks is about right. There are rumours of a collab which Matty both says it is fake news he worked on Midnights and then that he did but it wasn't used. Taylor never acknowledged.

2022 - 27 March DM Story Jack had an argument with FKA Twigs who was dating Matty after the Oscars.

2022 - midnights comes out, no 1975 collab.

2022, December - Matty starts dating model Charlotte Bliar D'Alessio. they had been dating 'for weeks' and date until the end of March.

2023 - 12 January - Taylor performs anti-hero and The City at 1975 concert, multiple rumors Harry was also there: x, x, x

2023 - 15 January - MH invites HS to perform, H declines. MH makes inappropriate comments accusing Harry of Queerbaiting.

This section is cut from the BBC's official video of About You. Harry was also in Scotland in Edinburgh. Matty opened the show (wearing a lab coat he took off) with an apparent acknowledgement that the relationship wasn't sincere:

“Is it all a bit? Is it sincere? Will he ever address it?” he asked. “All of these questions and more will be ignored in the next hour. Ladies and gentleman, this is The 1975.”

2023 June 5 - MH break up reported by TMZ later confirmed no longer speaking

2023 August 16 - MH back with the girl he dumped in March for …. That.

2023 September - Matty starts dating Gabby who he is still with.

2024 February 15 - MH said on stage “Do not come for me. Trust me. You know who I’m talking to. Honestly, you know who you are. I’m as mental as I seem. I have the receipts. Don’t f**k with me. Trust me.”

I have no idea what happened in 2023, but I think the blind is correct.

Hi! I hope this post won't flop </3

first of all I wanted to finally reveal myself on this platform - many of you know me as Himbeertee_ on tiktok and twitter, Hello! Yes, I'm also here :P

I felt like last few days were like a fever dream - so I decided to write a summary/recap of my journey to Stozice.

It was not my first Joker Out show, last month I was in Żalec and both times I traveled by train and bus, so if anyone wonders how to get to Slovenia from Poland - the cheapest way is by Flixbus, but the fastest is by plane. I spent 5 hours in train and 11 hours in bus and it was only one way ride.

Me and my friend arrived at the arena around 4pm and we were 24/25 in the queue and we ended up at barricade in front of Kris, thanks to long catwalk and very long barricade. (I wanted to be at Kris' side, because duuuh i'm a Kris girlie).

If it comes to new merch - there were new winter beanies, new shirts, hoodies, socks, UM and Demoni CD's, condoms, new notebook (juhuhu hahaha), new tote bags and if you ask me... well.. those shirts didn't look good at least for me, but the rest of it was fine. I bought baby boos socks, because (to the unpopular opinion) I love the name xD

If it comes to the show alone, I will try to describe few songs. As you might have seen on twitter I managed to get the setlist (which was leaked at least day before - and unfortunately i saw some of it so I didnt experience the surprise).

The live-from-backstage intro was so cool, like I had chills, the screen was turning from the backstage to black screen or to joker out sign with the music that made your heart beat to it, it definitely built an atmosphere, we saw Jo getting ready to rock the stage, Kris leading the 5 of them to the stage from backstage, then they finally came from behind drums, which was such a cool entrance!

First song was Sunny Side of London - and now I understand that they picked it as an opener because of the "welcome" at the beginning, but when I first heard it i was kinda sceptical why is this the first song. People from the brass band joined them for the iconic balcan solo (dare I say - Kris outwhored himself during the solo).

Then we screamed for the record and we beat it, but honestly I think that the result should be higher, but because it was such an open space, the device didnt gather the sound as good as in smaller venues.

Then gola and bele sanje - honestly don't remember much of it because I was enjoying myself, maybe a little too much, but the guitar transition from bele sanje to plastika was sooooo good.

Plastika oh plastika! This song is made for concerts, everyone were screaming their lungs off and Bojan was everywhere, including the cat walk.

Proti toku - what can I say other than justice for Proti Toku! Like i dont understand why they abandoned this song at the shows...

As you already know I was at Kris' side and I had the best view on him, let me tell you. This man didn't hold back during dopamin, his moves were electric and there should be another twitter account "Kris shuffles to:"

Padam - Bojan sang the song laying on the catwalk for the entire length of the song and for a moment I was so confused where he went, because I didn't see him at first.

Then after Padam we had a small break, that included screenings of pre-eurovision clips from their vlogs and during that everyone was lying on the stage (not sure about Jure tho).

Then demoni happened and the Iconic scream was... well... demonic xD Bojan ended up almost on all fours in front of 12k audience. You're welcome or something.

Katrina - is another song which was made to being played on stage. I loved the red and white lights especially, bojan was very slutty and we were introduced to releasing fumes from the pyro stuff (not real pyro or fire on their show in Stozice).

ASTP - AMAZING intro played by a dude with trumpet, I had chills, Bojan was sitting on his knees on the stage, listening to it. I'll try to upload it to tiktok later! It is one of my fav songs. Great vocals from Bojan and Kris, the second one was very slutty af during the song (who is surprised at this point?). No Janace ending, Jan ended the song playing at the end of catwalk, nice moment between Nace and Bojan.

Omamljeno Telo - well this is the only JO song that I am not that much a fan of, but they definitely delivered their perfomance, especially when everyone went to the catwalk. We had Kris/Nace moment during the song.

Kot Srce Ki Kri Poganja - will you banish me If I tell you that I have never heard any of their unreleased songs?

Anyway I LOVED THIS SONG, can they release it on new album please? I already knew that Martin will join them because I saw pics from backstage before the show, but I was surprised to see Matic there. This songs slaps and I fell in love with the vibe martin gave while playing the bass. I couldnt stop staring at him, he was magnetic and so happy to play with others. I might cry a little when Nace gave him his bass. I loved how everyone was hugging each other before and after the song. Such a heartwarming moment, even if Martin doesnt play anymore, you could definitely see that he is still part of the family <3

Metulji - amazing perfomance, again they delivered, love the song, also amazing Jan solo at the end of the song, kinda improvised i think? At least I have never heard those sounds before.

Vse Kar Vem - well, you know who I was focused on xD I guess I have a new Vse Kar Vem iconic video for you xD

NGVOT - before the song I was wondering if they will do Tavastia 2.0 with ngvot and the scream i I let out when I saw that Bojan was far from the mic, far enough to be late to start singing the song if he had to, and then I turned to look at Kris and I already knew. This is all I've been asking for. I'm so glad that Kris is more comfortable to sing the first verse, his voice was more relaxed, less shaky than in Tavastia, I loved the way he sang "ti pa barvo las" the way Bojan does. But I still think he has to work a little bit on his voice, because I know he CAN sing (from other videos). I wonder if they will leave this song as a duet for other shows in the future or If it was like one-time thing.

Vem Da Gres - all I remember was Nace on our side and how handsome he looked. I'm not a Nace girlie, but I can definitely see why others are, and his new hair and the outfit... asdfgrew

Ne Bi Smel - this time Jan joined our side and he had a nice moment with Bojan

Ona - Another time when men from brass band joined and it was the song which had changed arrangement. I loved it. the whole vibe of the song stayed the same, but the brass instruments elevated it. (If i think about any fuck ups during the show - it happened here - the mic of the Saxophone guy didnt work at first, I've heard him from the front row, but idk if people in the back have heard him). During this song they also showed me and my friend on the screen and i cant stop thinking about how the hell it happened xD Now i am immortal in joker out stozice lore xD

Tokio - honestly don't remember what was happening - probably I was just screaming and singing.

Umazane Misli - i loved it. I LOVED IT. The way Bojan was demanding the audience who and when should they sing, and then he came down to us and let 2 people sing, and he received the THREE KAKSI ANANAS LONKERO shirt and he loved it so much, he was so smiley and took this shirt with him on the stage.

Novi val - I almost cried. This is my fav song, and thanks to Joker Out Subs and Spela the project came true, the coloful lights flashed beautifully above boy's heads. We and them were touched and it was such a special moment. At the beginning of Novi Val Jure came to our side and we could see his outfit from the closer proximity, and dare I say it was second best after Kris'.

Last but not least - Carpe Diem. After novi val they left the stage, but everyone knew it wasnt over. The break was too long and It just clicked in my head that what if they are changing into their Eurovision clothes. AND THEY DID. I just predicted it seconds before it happened. It was unreal - like i just travelled back in time 5 months.

Overall it was the best night of my life. Everything was perfect. The lights were amazing. The stage was amazing. Clothes - god, the amount of details on each outfit! Personally I think Kris and Jure had the best outfits. I couldnt really see Jan and Nace outfit details, but the looked GOOD. But if I have to complain - not a fan of detachable sleeves on Bojan's shirt.

They all delivered their performances. Not a single mistake - i am so impressed because thats a skill.

We all agree that Kris outdid himself that night. The way he moved, the way he sang, the way he was SO CONFIDENT. Like he was born to be in that exact moment.

I also loved every single interaction between boys, the group ones, or the doubles. Maybe there was no Jan and Nace astp ending but they had few moments. It was so nice to see Jan and Bojan jamming together, Kris and Nace doing their thing, Bojan and Kris' little shenanigans and even Jure and Jan had their moment when Jan ran to him at the beginning of the show.

I also love how they had movie-like credits. Everyone from their crew was credited, every person who worked on the show, team of photographers etc.

Other thing was how nice it was to being supplied with water all the time. The people behind barricade were giving us cups with water all the time, and even at the end of the show we got whole bottles.

Please don't take this post as a proper review - these are just my thoughts of the show <3

I love the way everything is said in June 30's episode. Everything, let's be honest. That said, here are some of my absolute favorite parts:

The chains rattling once again and the way Jonathan says "the door - would not - move." The waver in his voice on the word "despair" right afterwards

Honestly, everything about his struggles with the door. The screeching, the effort in his voice on "pulled. and pulled." and "shook it", the way he's breaking down, frantic... finally fading into resignation to the horrible reality.

And then determination not to let that stop him. Reckless, wild indeed, but he will not be stopped this time.

His BREATHING, mentioned now but I wanna emphasize it throughout all the episode! He sounds breathless, almost panting, so much of the time. It's the extreme emotion, the exertion, the complete collapse of all facades, the blood loss... it's excellent

The way he delivers the line "I went through the door in the corner and down the winding stair and along the dark passage to the old chapel." - so quick and all in a rush. It's a horrible journey that only a few days ago was absolutely terrifying, but today it's old news. He moves through quickly, confidently. An echo of the way he went from absolute terror to 'the Count went out lizard fashion again' but more driven.

The genuine horror in his voice when he describes Dracula. His voice stuttering as he says "looking a-as if his youth had been half renewed..." and that EXCELLENT music repeating again throughout, building

ALSO, creepy Jonathan moment? The way he says "the mouth was redder than ever, for on the lips were gouts of fresh blood, which trickled from the corners of the mouth and ran over the chin... and neck." is sooooo?! He lingers a little on the red lips again but most especially the way he says the word 'neck' almost sounds hungry as well as horrified, it's like he's merging with Dracula a little, I dunno, but it's creepy and amazing

honestly the whole description sounds even creepier read aloud and it was plenty creepy before

"I shuddered as I bent over to touch him" *long steeling breath* "and every-sense in me revolted at the contact." *nearly chokes up, wrestles his voice back* "But I had to search-" GHHHHH

His tears on "or I was lost." and the way seems almost to vanish into the picture of the future he envisions

"the very thought drove me mad" - the roughness on that word gave me chills

Shovel Noise So Good

but then as Dracula sees him, oh god - the low horn, ringing noise, music getting faster

Jonathan's slight stutter on "fore-head"

"But my brain seemed on fire" being so rough and pained, god Someone Hug Him Now (no not you vampires!)

the rush of the wind

"I was again a prisoner" the EMOTION, and on "net of doom" too!

The entire bit where he narrates in present tense is SO much more intense/immediate this way. Love the little stutter on "I - I can hear the heavy feet"

and I'm just sitting here thinking about how hopeless this must feel, after all his effort, after everything - to have the wind itself turn against him, to be trapped once more, to have to just sit there and listen as the key he has risked so much to find is used and then taken away, leaving him as trapped as ever

But he REFUSES to sit and wait.

the way he scoffs so violently when comparing the vampire ladies to Mina, "nought in common"

the quiet desperate way he says "home"

The way he almost sounds hopeful to fall. I wanna cry.

And then ending on "Mina" still so rough and despairing but the love is felt in every part of the word, AUGH

The theme song is so good!

1. The Iconic Øyafestivalen 2016 hug

Need I say more? Miles HIMSELF posted this moment, so it's not surprising everyone loves it, including meself.

2. The Iconic Coachella Kiss

This is honestly my favorite for 2 reasons:

[edited] I was unfortunately a slave to the internet but I originally said here that they were really banned but really its just a rumour!! I hears the guy handling coachella really wasn't happy with the whole thing thoigh, still funny lmfao

It was the one of the few moments that were the closest to a kiss, there are a few others but this one is the most popular and most iconic because again of said reason in #1.

3. Sharing Clothes

This ones not really a moment but a collection of moments. I find it EXTREMELY FUNNY that whenever people do those "boyfriend style" things on Alex, you see the regular array of ex girlfriends or current girlfriend, and out of nowhere, it's just Miles HAHAHAHHA. LIKE IT'S FUNNY AS HELL. I find it kinda sweet that Miles is somehow the... consistent out of all of the styles, like no matter the era of Alex there's gonna be a moment where he shares clothes with Miles, compared to the others who obviously only ever share with him in one period. I guess that's the perks of being the best friend?

4. The Albums being called "their baby"

This one is a little more of a stretch because I've only ever seen it one time. In this interview Alex says "for the past 8 years we've considered...trying for another baby" then they both start laughing hysterically. It's funny and cute :)) If anyone ever sees a different moment where Alex and Miles call the albums their babies, please do let me know!

5. I Want You (She's So Heavy)

Episode 6: Begin and Again

Beyond the Star, produced by HYBE Media Studio

Why is it titled Begin AND Again and not Begin Again? That was my question. Let's delve...

It opens with Hobi working on PROOF, the anthology album. I'm guessing the clip we see was filmed late 2021. Maybe between October and December. He says the concept of PROOF was to organize their numerous narratives and many other parts of their story.

Recording Yet to Come...

While being interviewed individually, I think the question proposed is what are the thoughts that come to mind when thinking about the past ten years and Tae says this: "The vigor of youth, our time as young boys, the time we didn't receive any acknowledgement, and when we pressed on in spite of that, I think that time was the most passionate moment in my life."

Yoongi said perhaps because of their situation at the time of trying to gain ground in their career, they set very high goals and when they achieved them, they weren't satisfied, they wanted to press on to the next goal and that desire was their strength and their weakness, as he says: "their weapon and the chink in their armor."

Jungkook says he often thinks of what he would have become if it wasn't for BTS. He has received so much positive influence from those surrounding him. He feels very lucky to have met the members and believes BTS and everything related to BTS are what created the path for him to mature as a singer and as a person.

Watching them record Run BTS (the song) was amazing. I love that song and watching them have fun in the studio is a healing sight.

They cherish their youth, their first ten years, their "Chapter 1" but they agree, its time to open a new chapter. Begin and again. The pause of the pandemic and beginning again after it was over. The pause for enlistment and the need to begin again when they are back. A lot of beginnings and agains. Begin the period of personal growth. Become BTS again at some point.

PTD Seoul in March 2021 was a situation where a limited number of attendees would be allowed and they would not be able to stand or cheer or sing along or any of those normal things that audiences do during a live concert. It would be a unique situation and possibly may never happen again in the future of live music concerts.

K-Army were thrilled, nervous, excited.

Waiting to go up on stage for sound check they already notice how quiet it is. They speculate amongst themselves whether Army will accidentally cheer. It's funny because we can see both sides as it happens. Yep, the audience accidentally let out an excited cheer upon seeing BTS for the first time after so long and the members are amused when they hear it.

They get started with sound check and reassure Army that they will get through this together.

In the second half of Ep. 6 each member speaks about their thoughts in this initial period where they are beginning "anew" after the pandemic, after they've achieved everything they have so far, after reflecting back on where they've been. They are doing personal things, Jin is fishing, the rap line working on personal projects, etc.

Yoongi says (at the time of this interview) they don't know what to do next (as a group). This is the beginning of their next chapter. Personally, Yoongi says again for the nth time that nothing goes as planned or expected. He would like everyone to have time to figure it out. He personally needs to reconnect with himself.

One of the moments is when Yoongi is in LA recording his part of the collab with Juice WRLD. He is telling the producer that he doesn't want to ruin Juice WRLD's song and the producer says to him: "you can't ruin it, you are only going to make it better"... Suga of BTS is still coming to understand the status he holds in the music industry.

Hobi tells us he will not waste the time until the group is whole again. He has things he wants to accomplish, personal dreams he wants to fulfill. I believe this is one of the reasons why Jack in the Box was ready first and why he enlisted earlier than the others. He was restless to get back into his work.

Jin is a simple guy. He talked about how (at the time of this interview) they had made it to the top and whatever happened, happened, he just wants all the members to live their lives as they want to. As BTS, he wanted the group to be able to do whatever they and the fans wanted to do. He was simply excited to bring back fresh fish to the team and staff after a day-long fishing trip.

RM says the team was telling each other their thoughts on what BTS could be in their 30s and mentioning he was working with The Neptunes which is Pharrell's duo. I wonder when that collab will see the light of day.

The maknae line was wondering how to find themselves since they have tied their identities to BTS, they don't know who they are yet as individuals and they wonder what it will be like. Jimin says they won't know until they live it.

Yoongi says, this is the time for them to get to know themselves.

In Your Arms (Soap x tired! femreader)

Hey guys! I'm a new writer so please be nice and patient with me, any tips are much appreciated in helping me write better <3

“I’ll see you later Tommy, I gotta get out of here and go home to sleep for a million hours.” Putting your hair in a clip for the hundredth time today.

“You did good today y/n” Tommy said with a smile. “Now get out of here, you’ve spent enough hours here.”

It had been one hell of a day at the hospital. You did physical therapy for soldiers and this was month 6 of working there. You worked on the military base, which oddly enough is where you met your boyfriend of 4 months. There were patients needing you all day and you had a 12 hour shift for the third time this week, so it was time you had a break.

Driving out of the hospital, you plugged in your favorite song and blasted it all the way home. All you wanted was some good food, a shower and some sleep. As you pull the car into the garage of your apartment, you turn the car off and just sit in silence. There’s a feeling inside of you that’s creeping up. But maybe that’s just the sleep talking, so you ignored it. The ride up the elevator was silent, there weren’t even thoughts that were talking.

You walk down the hall of the 6th floor apartment and your bag is getting heavier by the minute. You reach for the door and walk through, almost immediately dropping your backpack and launching your shoes off your tired and aching feet and let out the biggest sigh that you’ve held all day. You then turn your attention to the living room and see that the TV is on with a broad shadow facing it and the mohawk that you oh so loved.

“Aye lass, I thought you’d never get home, want me to get you some food?”

You hum in response and head to the shower in your shared bedroom. You hated being so curt with Johnny, but he understands. After all he’s a Sergeant for the S.A.S and he’s had long days before, it wasn’t uncommon for him to be gone for months at a time. It was rare for you to be in the same room at the same time because you were both so busy, but you made it work. You heard Johnny order Chinese food on the phone as you stepped into the shower.

The hot water running down your shoulders felt so good. It was just a simple shower with washing your hair, but today it felt like an expensive spa. As you step out of the shower and dry your hair, you decide to treat yourself and reach into Johnny’s sweatpants drawer and put on your favorite pair of his. They smelled like his detergent and his amazing cologne; sandalwood and whiskey. You also put on one of your favorite large t-shirts from your favorite shows.

You step into the living room connected to the kitchen and see a plate with your Chinese on it and John standing next to it leaning on the counter facing you with his arms crossed.

“Want to talk about it, or do you want a hug and eat while we watch a movie?”

You smile softly, he knows you too well. “The second one sounds nice.” He holds his muscle engraved arms and you step into it letting out another big sigh. This feels so nice, to know that someone has your back when you have a bad day, and will never push you farther than you want to go. You stay hugging for a while and after a couple of minutes he peppers your head with kisses and you laugh.

“Les go eat yeah?”

“Yeah okay” You and Johnny bring your plates to the couch and put on your favorite movie. A small amount of time later you finish your food and get up to put your things away before you feel a strong hand on your shoulder lightly shoving you into the couch.

“Johnny what are you-” the plate you were holding disappeared as he plucked it from your hands.

“Please let me, you’ve had a long day.” He walks into the kitchen and cleans up everything as you continue to watch your movie. Some time later he walks back in and sits on the couch wrapping his arm around you and giving you another kiss on the head. You push him into the couch to lay down, having you in between him and the couch. He easily leans into the couch assuming a cuddling position with your legs intertwined and your head on his arm and hand on his chest. After a while you lean up and straddle his waist as he turns his attention from the TV to you and puts his hands on your waist to hold you in place.

“Johnny I love you and I appreciate you and everything you do for me when I’m stressed.”

“There's nothing I wouldn't do for you lass, you make me a happy man and I would do anything to make you less stressed and make you happy, I know how much you love your job, but I also know how much you overwork yourself.” He grabs the nape of your neck and leans forward meeting his lips with yours. It's been a while since you guys have had a night to yourselves without the 141 needing Johnny and the hospital needing you. You liked this. Being here with him and feeling all your stress melt away while having his calloused hands on your skin caressing your hips and neck.

After breaking away he looks into your eyes and whispers out loud.

“I could hold you forever.” He says with a matter-of-fact tone. You go back to laying down in between him and the couch, legs intertwined.

“And I could lay with you for a lifetime.” You say smiling looking up at him. Needless to say you both fell asleep on the couch long before the movie was over.

The body on the bed is not his brother’s. It cannot be.

The hair is not right. It is too drab, too brown, too thin. The face, cheekbones too sharp, the eyes so deeply sunken in, skin falling about them as loose folds of cloth. Nelyo had had thick eyelashes, copper and curling playfully upwards, and the body has none. The lips— the lips are thin and cracked, slashed over with two criss-crossing cuts, half-healed.

The poor wretch. It is not him. It cannot be him.

But Káno cannot blame them. Cannot blame Findekáno for bringing it back with him, cannot blame Ñolofinweë for calling him. They do not know Nelyo like he does, the body does resemble him. It is the shape of the head, the square jaw. The one ear that is not torn to shreds, the one that curls back, as Nelyo’s had. The body is unusually tall and broad-shouldered, though the arms are so thin they look insectoid, though the knees look swollen as twisted root.

The left hand — the only hand— has a scar over the palm, thin and white. In Aman, when they were children, Nelyo had cut his hand helping mother pick up shards of broken pottery. It had healed just so, that same thin little curve, as a scythe or a question mark. The body bears a similar mark.

The body bears the same mark.

The body—

Káno backs away so sharply he sees not where he is going. He steps on Ñolofinwë’s foot, his back hitting his uncle’s chest.

It is not him, he wants to say, you called me in error, Uncle, for I know my blood.

But then the body moves. It has a jerky way of moving; one sharp movement to jam its elbows against its ribcage, then a sharp, shaky breath, one exhale broken down into several weak gusts of air, and it heaves its head, neck held stiffly, up. Turns to look at Káno with familiar silver-grey eyes. There are freckles on that white skin, buried between the wrinkles.

Alive. Alive.

It makes him think of when they had first seen orcs. Orcs whose limbs bent in ways limbs should not bend, whose jaws hung from their faces at strange, half-turned angles. Who radiated pain in each broken grunt and shout, the sort of pain that is sharp to the touch. They should not move, Káno had thought, they should not live.

“Káno,” the body rasps, in his brother’s voice, “Káno, Káno, Káno.”

The face lights up. The cuts on his lips bleed at the force of the smile, the skin folds in new and strange ways. He is missing teeth. One of his upper incisors, his left canine.

He is missing a hand. He is smiling, with such pure joy as Káno has not seen since the darkening, has not seen in this land. He is smiling, and he says Káno’s name. He is missing a hand.

Káno falls to his knees, taking Nelyo’s remaining hand in his. Kisses the bruises knuckles, the broken, bleeding fingernails, the little twisting scar on the palm. The hand is clean. Someone has cleaned it, has washed blood and dirt off the fingers, has rubbed sweet-smelling lotion into the skin. Someone has braided his hair. Someone has wrapped a deep blue blanket about his shoulders, tucking it into a silver clip.

“Brother,” he says, and his voice sounds worse than Nelyo’s, a ragged, breaking thing, “Nelyo— Maitimo, Varda forgive me, Maitimo.”

He should not cry. He has heard so, in the halls of healing, in the encampments they have set up in this new land. Cry not. Hide your fear, and your anguish, and show only your hope. Wounds of the flesh should not be allowed to become wounds of the spirit.

He cries, feels his shoulders shaking with it, horrible sobs— loud, wailing things, sure to hurt his brother, to hurt this, and he cannot help it. He is ever aware of the breath in his lungs, the air he draws in and lets go as song. He had once amazed his cousins with how long he could hold his breaths under water.

There is not enough room in his chest, now. He sucks in air desperately, but he cannot hold it.

Nelyo reaches for him with the stump of his hand, those same horrible, jerky movements. Sways. He cannot sit up right. Ñolofinwë steps delicately around them, his steps making no sound on the bare wooden floor, and comes to steady Nelyo, wrapping an arm around his shoulders.

“I am here,” Nelyo says, the stump brushing awkwardly against Káno’s shoulder. He closes his hand around Káno’s fingers, his thumb brushing over Káno’s knuckles. There is no strength left in it. No strength left in him. “I am here, Káno.”

Káno catches a breath and drags it into his lungs. Holds it there, even as it tries to run from him.

��Forgive me,” he breathes, “Nelyo, forgive me. I thought— forgive me.”

He can feel the shape of his brother’s words. Can hear the ghost of his voice, patient and measured. How often, these days, he hears his brother’s ghost. There is naught to forgive, the Nelyo in his head says, his voice warm as the treelight, I was not angry, Káno.

Slowly, painfully, Nelyo pulls his hand away from him. Reaches to smooth Káno’s hair back from his face. A strand of it has stuck to his cheek, wet with tears and already crusting over.

“You are forgiven,” he says, “I forgave you long since, Káno.”

And it is right, the cadence; the way he says, the warmth that clings yet to his voice, the slight of deliberation between each word, as though he chooses them with the utmost care. But not the words themselves.

Káno climbs into bed with him. His brother leans on him, absurdly light; Káno fears to bruise bone should he embrace him. For a little while they do not speak. Káno tries not to think of the blood, the scars, the drab, brownish hair. But is almost worse to see the freckles and the smile, to hear his brother’s voice.

Findekáno slips into the room then, settling silently at his brother’s other side. The right side. The side with the stump and the bandages and the blood yet dotting the sheets. Káno spares him a glance. He is little changed in profile, though the ice has left him thinner and wearier, and, though new upon the land, he wears the familiar scars of orc blades his hand and his cheek.

Struck with sudden feeling, Káno leans over Nelyo to grab him by the collar.

“Káno—“ Findekáno starts, but he cuts him off.

He kisses him, kisses him though some part of him hates him already. Their cheeks brush against each other, and his tears smudge his cousin’s golden face-paint. He does not think he could ever be more grateful than he is now, cannot imagine a greater debt.

Findekáno stares at him as he pulls away, his eyes wide and owlish, lips still slightly open. Then he laughs, and that makes Nelyo laugh too, a strange, huffing sound that seems at risk of crumbling into coughs.

“Cousin,” Findekáno says, laughing yet, “what a greeting that was!”

“He has grown quite strange in this land,” Nelyo rasps, again taking Káno’s hand, “I almost did not know him when he came, so much he looked as some wise and noble king, hair of raven and crown of gold! Look, brother, how you have changed!”

No, Kánafinwë thinks desperately, feeling the crown upon his head as he shakes it, no, no. I haven’t.
