Saint Tony (Tony DiNozzo x reader) part 2; [SMUT]
You woke up the next morning encased in Tony’s arms. He was shirtless and you didn’t have pants on which left you wondering what happened.
You rolled over in his arms to see the bedside table. Tylenol and ibuprofen bottles and a glass of water looked at you. You smiled and curled into him.
“Morning beautiful” he voice said in your ear. You faced him.
“Hi” you smile.
“How did you sleep?”
“I slept so good” you reply and kiss him. “Better than I have in a while”
“Good, so do I”
“Hey did we… yk- have sex? Last night” you ask, feeling stupid.
“No we didn’t” he smiled softly. “You wanted to… I wanted to… but you were drunk and I didn’t wanna take advantage” he replied.
“Thank you Tony” you caress his face. “For not being a total dirtbag” he smiled and kissed your forehead. “But I’m sober now” you smirk deviously crawling to straddle him.
“Oh yeah?” He held onto you.
“Yeah” you smile and kiss him. Flicking your hips as you do so.
“Mmm” he hums against your lips. He began to pull up at the hem of your shirt, you help him pull it up over your head. His mouth dropped open slightly as all your tattoos revealed themself to you. His fingers touching each of them before slowing down to trace the tattoo on your sternum.
“You like that one” you smile. His lips curl into a salacious grin before nodding.
“Yeah I do” he flips you onto your back. “Let me leave some marks too” he says in your ear, starting his college on your neck. Gently rocking his hips against yours, making you moan.
“Tony” you moan as he continues. You can feel Tony’s member growing against your core.
“(Y/n)” he kisses you. “I want you” he chuckles as you pull your arms down to his waistband. Keeping eye contact as you did so. His rhythm slowed as he helped pull them off.
“Take me” you whisper in his ear as he eased himself into you. The pair of you created a beautiful sound, pure and utter human satisfaction.
“Fuck (y/n)” he groans as he slowly pumped in amd out of you. Tony’s cocked throbbed inside of you as he fucked you, kissing your neck and collar bone as you whimpered and moaned softly.
“Faster” you say. Tony sped up his thrusts. Your breast’s bouncing as he did so. Allowing his hand to travel down to your clit he rubbed. Your mouth wide open as he did so.
“You like that huh?” He asked pounding into you. You squirmed underneath him. Dragging your nails down his back. “Fuckkkk (y/n)” he moaned. You began leaving marks on his neck as he fucked into you.
“Tony” you moaned loudly as moved your hips to meet his thrusts. “ fuck I’m so close” you groan as you feel yourself tighten.
“I can feel it” he responds. “Makes me wanna fuck you harder” he says ramming himself into you. Your moans got higher, some more guttural groans arose from Tony. You pulsed around him making his hips stutter as he pounded. His thrusts got sloppier by the second as the headboard began to lightly hit the wall.
“Fuck Tony” you say as you grip onto him as you came, he fucked you before reaching his own orgasm. Pulling out and collapsing next to you. Pulling you close to him as the two of you caught your breath.
He pulled himself up onto his elbow. You gently caressed his face as he came into view. His shoulder littered with deep purple bite marks, his neck and chest looked as if he was abused. You giggled.
“What’s so funny?” He says softly, brushing the hair out of your face.
“Gibbs is gonna have a field day when he sees us on Monday” you sigh.
“And Abby.”
“Ziva”
“And McNosy” Tony says prodding at McGee
“We can worry about that on Monday” you say. “For now, we have a day to ourselves” you smile and bring him down to kiss you again.

Top 10 Favorite Performances of "Music of the Night"
Honorable Mentions: Laird Mackintosh
Tumblr media
I have an affinity for Laird that I can't quite explain. I love an understudy/alt/swing who's been with the production and just lingers for years and years (this is borne out in the rest of the list, as you'll see), I love that he started out in ballet, and I love how energetic he is. Though he falls short on the high notes, he plays the reaction to Christine fainting very well
Honorable Mentions: Dave Willetts
Tumblr media
He's so smooth and creeping, and he's one of the especially good Phantoms who catches Christine before she falls (I'm a sucker for that, as will also be borne out in the rest of the list). He's been accused of "Copying" Michael Crawford, and I do see where that criticism is valid, but I think it's understandable given that he took up the mantle very early in the West End run.
Honorable Mentions: Cris Groenendaal
Tumblr media
Cris is a really underrated Phantom. Another Alt/Understudy (who, like Laird, spent a lot of time in the role of M. Andre), I think he's got a wonderful power in his voice. His MotN is melodic and seductive. His pitfall is that he does tend to get a little bit nasal for my tastes.
Honorable Mentions: Ramin Karimloo
Tumblr media
Honestly I think Ramin lands in most people's top tens. Certainly the 25th Anniversary at the Royal Albert Hall has made him on of the most ubiquitous Phantoms out there. Now, frankly, Ramin has taken a while to grow on me, and while my viewing of the 25th was the thing that pushed me to include him on this list, that performance is not the one that I chose to include here. Instead I went back, to his West End run. While I think Ramin's performance is a bit broad whenever he's actually in character, I do see what people mean about his emphasis on Erik's vulnerability. He does (with slightly less refinement) what I will later in this list praise Earl Carpenter for (and that's high praise from me, as you'll see). Still while I like Ramin's Erik a lot more now than I did, say, four months ago when all this brain-rot started, he's just not one that feels personal to me, which is why I hesitated to put him in the top ten proper.
10. Paul Stanley
I mean of course I'm fascinated by Paul Stanley's whole Phantom saga, so of course he's in here. He's far from the most technically proficient, he struggles with the high notes, but he really does a good job otherwise, and I have to admire his moxy.
youtube
09. Brent Barrett
Emphatic and sexy with compelling body language. So underrated.
youtube
08. Howard McGillin
Spectral, Resonant and controlled; a legend.
youtube
07. Hugh Panaro
Hugh is one of those that I feel like is a pre-requisite in a top ten list. My favorite thing is how he plays heavily on the phantom's fascination with Christine, and not solely on making her fascinated by him
youtube
06. Michael Crawford
Another prerequisite. He's ghostly, coaxing; the OG OG. The man who said, "No I want them to be able to see how lustfully he's touching her in the back row. I need to show more skin: make my sleeves shorter." This man understood the assignment and he set the tone and God bless him for it.
youtube
05. Anthony Warlow
The original Sydney Phantom, another beautifully strong, clear vocal quality. He has a very old-fashioned style of singing, I think which has a particular charm. If I had to name a fault it would be that he is quite theatrical, which I don't mind, though I tend to prefer an understated phantom. He never undersells a single line. I think his phantom is one of the most "hopeless romantic" interpretations. A particular standout for me is how he conveys that Christine's reluctance tries his patience, but he holds it together and his "touch me, trust me" is beautifully reassuring, while many phantoms choose to portray lust or longing in this moment, his is an appeal for understanding which is very attractive in its own way.

04. Ben Lewis
The power! The gravitas! Ben Lewis is truly one of the greatest blessings in PotO history and his high note? Off the charts. Also, since this is the whole first lair, I just want to say that this is one of my favorite versions of "Stranger than You Dreamt It" I've ever heard.
youtube
03. Ted Keegan
Refreshingly sharp and clean. I just love how powerful he is without being overpowering. He's strong, sensual and smooth. *sigh* ~,~ If only he caught her...
youtube
02. Earl Carpenter
So pleading, so gentle--holy hell I love Earl so much. Watch him show Erik's inner struggle with his desire for contact and his fear of his deformity throughout this entire scene! Watch him think to himself "Yes, let her touch you! Why shouldn't you?" And then lose his nerve at the last moment! I could go on for hours. Find me a sweeter Phantom. Go ahead.
youtube
01. John Owen-Jones
Without a doubt in my mind THE strongest vocal performer in this role. I just love to hear him booming out in his great, Welsh way. He strikes an exquisite balance between his acting and his singing. His vibe in general is amazing, like he really leans into the idea that he's been Christine's teacher as much as her muse. He has guided her through music and he wishes to be her guide into romance as well, and that manifests in every aspect of his performance. Such as the fact that he doesn't walk away from Christine for the second verse, so he's leaning close when he sings "Let your spirit start to soar" and almost always gestures with his hand over her diaphragm. If I'm completely honest, he's the only Phantom (except perhaps Michael Crawford or Gerard Butler) that I can actually imagine giving Christine singing lessons. So few actually inhabit this music obsessed weirdo like JOJ does.
He, perhaps the ultimate gentleman phantom, also catches and carries Christine before she falls. (Special shout out to my girl Gina Beck for also REALLY leaning in to the romanticism of the moment; she looks just so utterly in ecstasy through this whole sequence and that's exactly how I would want to play Christine).
youtube
I need to tack a caveat onto the end here:
Gerard Butler's Music of the Night is my actual, number one favorite rendition.
But I wanted this list to be stage versions only.
I think I can put my feelings on this most succinctly like this:
I love JOJ's confidence, his command and his sensuality
I love Earl's gentleness and vulnerability
I love Anthony's patience
I love Ted's crispness
I love Paul's humanity
I love Ben's power
Gerard Butler somehow manages to crystallize ALL of those elements and ramp them every one of them up to 11 with an added element of wholly smitten wonder at Christine that makes me so weak.

¡Buena suerte!
/ English:
Hi jlrrt! I'm the anon that asked about Emma Southon's book a few weeks ago. Many thanks for the heads up that you and Erin @theromaboo gave me. Since I'm really interested in Agrippina (+Gaius and his sisters) I've been searching for books about the subject and found those of Anthony Barret and I'd like to ask if you've read anything of his before and if they're good. I hope that this is [not] a bother, thanks a lot :) Hello! I haven't read any of Anthony Barrett's works, nor anything after the life of Tiberius. (You can find all the Roman history books I've read and recommend on my favorites page. But @sforzesco has created some awesome comics about Caligula with books and articles cited, and you might find them useful! I'm no academic, but when I consider a history book, I always look for citations for all the paragraphs. Even if you don't want to read the sources, it's important to be able to find where the author got their claims from. Ideally, a book should have both ancient and modern sources, and mention when current scholars aren't in agreement, which is often. An author should also make clear what is their own opinion and what's in the historical record. If a book presents information as if there's only one interpretation, that's likely a problem, especially for ancient history. If you look for these things in your books, I think you´ll be able to judge them for yourself. Good luck!

Urban Legends: Final Cut (2000)
In today's review, I find that the next urban legend may lie in the cut. As I attempt a #positive review of the 2000 sequel Urban Legends: Final Cut #JenniferMorrison #MatthewDavis #HartBochner #LorettaDevine #JosephLawrence #EvaMendes #JessicaCauffiel
What is art, but a reflection, of our experiences, our impressions, our tastes, and what came before us? Filtered through our perceptions, the same facts could have wildly different interpretations, like a game of Telephone, hearsay, or even an urban legend. In 2000, a film about making a film about urban legends became the familiar lurking ground for a slasher film, in Urban Legends: Final…

There is one part in Agrippina: The Most Extraordinary Woman of the Roman World that I really dislike.
So I get to the part where Britannicus dies. I'm wondering what the book would say about it. I know Emma Southon used Anthony Barrett's biography of Agrippina, and he argued in favour of death by natural causes (he was also the person who said that Britannicus' body darkening after death was a sign that he died of tetanoid epilepsy). So I was interested to see what she would say about it.
And then I get to it, and I'm very very disappointed.
Tumblr media
There is, of course, always a question hanging over any imperial murder: was it really murder? Some people have tried to argue that Britannicus really did die of epilepsy because his body turned dark after death, a sign of death by tetanoid epilepsy, and epilepsy was not uncommon in the Julio-Claudian family tree. Those arguments, however, tend to overlook the fact that tetanoid epilepsy is a model for inducing seizures in rats, not an actual form of epilepsy.
What.
WHAT!?
The main problem is in the last sentence. Where it is said that tetanoid epilepsy is "a model for inducing seizures in rats and not an actual form of epilepsy."
That is completely wrong, but I understand where the confusion probably came from. I've done some googling and it appears that there is a tetanus toxin model of epilepsy. So I'm assuming that there was a mix-up here. When you hear tetanoid, you think of tetanus.
Tetanoid epilepsy is a very very outdated term. It was already obsolete at least 20 years before Anthony Barrett used it, so I'm wondering why he used it at all. But, a long time ago, tetanoid epilepsy was considered an "actual form of epilepsy." It's just that nowadays we use different words to describe what used to be described as tetanoid epilepsy.
I don't like how the argument was so quickly dismissed because of a mix-up. Yes, there are some pretty solid counterarguments against Anthony Barrett, but this one is not one of them.
I'm planning to maybe talk to Emma Southon on Twitter (I mean X) about this. She has her username at the back of the book.
Anyway, I just want you guys to know about this because I'd feel sad and blame myself if any of you read this book and got misinformed about Britannicus.

Episode 377: A brand for lovers
In #370, wicked witch Angelique cast a spell on her onetime lover, young gentleman Barnabas Collins. To her surprise, the spell seemed likely to kill him. It took her the bulk of #371 to figure out a way to undo it. That was the first we learned that Angelique was a witch, and her ill-success left us wondering if it was her first time casting a spell. By now we have seen her cast several more,…
