here's my very all over the place feelings on certain aspects of baldur's gate 3 as a romani immigrant. warnings for spoilers of course. mind you i have not finished the game yet!

1. i really can't believe there aren't more people talking about the very blatant racism in astarion's questline. im quite sure it's because the game already touches on it, even giving you the choice to call astarion a racist, and also because everytime we roma talk about anything that makes us uncomfortable we're immediately shunned and "well actually!"'d.

the problem is that it feels Extra icky because the man who was the inspiration for the original dracula, Vlad the Impaler, kept romani slaves. this is the ONLY part of vampire history that, no matter how different the media, will always stay relevant for some reason.

castlevania has the seekers, a nomadic group of magic users who pass their history down orally. while they are *mostly* treated well, the first arc of the show literally shows them being hunted out of town for the simple act of existing.

vampire the masquerade... well.. that's an entire other can of racism worms.

curse of strahd has the "vistani", a nomadic group of people who are treated like third class citizens everywhere they go, and are of course, most known for being tarot readers and drunkards.

the vampire diaries have the "travellers", who get called "gypsies" explicitly as a derogatory word by other vampires.

i want you to take any vampire media you enjoy and ask yourself, "is there anti-roma racism in this?". i guarantee you, if you look for it, you're going to find it. for SOME reason, the only thing that stays consistent with all these different vampire IPs, is that romani people are hated and scrutinized at every moment of their lives.

i MORE than understand that astarion's racial insensitivity is part of him. it's part of what makes him malleable by the player. you can help him understand why he's wrong, or you can lead him down a worse path.

i still reserve the right to feel some sort of way about astarion sacrificing fantasy-romani children for power, willingly. don't get me wrong, he's my favourite character, right up there with halsin. which is why i obviously have so many feelings about this.

(yes, the Gur were written inspired by romani people, if you were not aware)

2. the anti-immigrant sentiment is such an inherent part of the story that i did not think was going to stick around for SO long. i dont really have much to say about this, i think i should've expected it. as a fan of dragon age (i know, tragic) i'm quite used to unnecessary fantasy racism everywhere i go, i just hoped it wouldn't be part of the main crucial story.

3. larian studios i am so so so thankful for the halsin romance. eternally. forever and ever. he's my pookie bear and i'm so grateful some extra time was made to create a romance for him.

can i ask you why the hell does halsin want to LEAVE. At The End. i've noticed how much he contradicts himself throughout his questline and i just... I don't know. i've seen some other people complaining about how non-chalantly he talks about being a sex slave and i understand too, but i think it's part of his character to not take the horrible things that happened to him seriously like he does with others. that, or someone at larian took an unknown substance that led them to make halsin Very inconsistent.

with the poly situation, some people are strictly polyamorous! some people are strictly non-monogamous and do not feel comfortable being in a monogamous relationship. i understand the frustration everyone, but that's how halsin is. i dont know if that was the writers' intention, but that's certainly what he comes across as to me; strictly non-monogamous.

what i DONT understand is why he says he only wants you, calls you "my heart", is so fondly and lovingly attached to you, and then he just.... Dips? Whatever. I'm ignoring that part forever. it's not canon to ME!

Chapter 1

"He is mine. Only mine. Stay away from him. This is the last warning." Said a middle school girl to a group of girls.

???: What are you saying Ynieee, we are still underage.

Girls' Group: Look Jungkook Oppa also don't want you to say that.

Jungkook to Girls' Group: First of all don't call me Oppa. 2nd, don't come near me and 3rd, don't bully her. Let's go Yn.

He grabbed your hand and walked towards the classroom.

You again turn towards them and stick your tongue out then again turn in front.

3 YEARS LATER...

Yn: If I saw it again that any of you were looking at my Kookie or trying to hit on him, I will pull your eyeball. And trust me I am not lying.

Jungkook: YN!! STOP IT!! YOU'RE MAKING SCENE. WE ARE NOW HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS.

He raised his voice.

Yn: Kookie why are you raising your voice at me? I am doing this for your own good.

Jungkook: I don't need that please don't lower my image anymore.

Yn: Jungkook!?

You said it out of disbelief.

And Jungkook knows how emotional you are. And you only call him by his full name only you're upset with him. But it's his nature what he can do.

Yn: Okay I am sorry.

You said to him in a low voice and after that, you heard that the whole class was laughing. So you ran out of the class.

Other hand Jungkook ran his hand through his hair. He thought something for some moment then dashed out of the classroom being worried.

He started searching for you in the whole school but didn't find you anywhere. Then he came to the back garden, cause you like nature a lot. And there he saw you sitting under a tree and sobbing badly.

Jungkook: Yn....

As soon as you heard his voice you rapidly wiped your tears and got up from your place and about to go. But Jungkook is fast enough to hold your hand.

Yn: Jungkook I already said sorry....

Jungkook: No Yn I should say sorry to you. I am sorry.... Here....

He gave you your favourite lollipop while begging for forgiveness.

But unexpectedly you jumped on him and hugged him with a wide smile.

Yn: Thanks Kookie. Okay, you are forgiven.

Jungkook: Thank you Her Highness. Now let's go?

Yn: Yessssssssssss. Let's goooooo.

Jungkook chuckled at your cuteness.

Jungkook: Okay so our last class teacher is absent can we go home early and cuddle?

Yn: Yup. Let's goooooo.

Yeah, you both are neighbours. Both of your family are more than neighbours. Both of you are Korea's top 2 billionaire's son and daughter. They are best friends so you two also became best friends.

You only have Jungkook as a friend and also Jungkook only have you as a friend. So both of you take care of each other. Just you're childish while Jungkook is mature. And also there are no secrets between you.

You always slept together since childhood. Your parents never complained about it even though they like it.

You lost your father 5 years ago whom you loved the most in this whole world. So you went into depression for more than 6 months.

At last, your mom and Jungkook's family went to a psychologist. And with his help, you recovered. He again doesn't wanna you to go into depression again. That's why he cares for you like a flower. Cause he can't see you in pain.

Chapter 2

After some hours....

Jungkook came into your house while your mom was packing things.

Yn/M: Oh Jungkook you came. Thank God. Can you help me dear?

Jungkook: Why are you asking like that Aunty? Just order me.

Your mom smiled a little to see his behaviour.

Yn/M: Okay so you have to take care of a baby. Can you?

Jungkook: Yeah of course I am an expert at taking care of that baby. Don't worry Aunty. Anyway, are you going to the office?

Yn/M: Not in the office. Me and your parents are going to the same destination.

Jungkook: Oh you're also going to Hawaii? Good then. Bye and take care of yourself.

Yn/M: Yes you too and also my Yniee's. Cause only I can trust you.

Jungkook's parents came out of nowhere and told them and after that, they left.

You were hugging Jungkook while sobbing, cause you never lived without your mom before. And he was caressing your back.

Teacher: Students do you think it's our last day together? No dear. Our principal set a new rule from this year.

Teacher: Our principal decided to teach all students for their upcoming college/University entrance exams.

Students: Yay!!!!!!!!

Everyone yelled in joy.

The teacher left.

Yn: Kookie let's go home today early and let's start our study from tomorrow. How's my idea?

Jungkook: Okk. As you wish.

Yn: You know I got 2 new things. No 1 is projector and No 2 is VR. Which one should we use today?

Jungkook: How about both? First, we will play with VR then we will watch a movie while cuddling. How's my idea?

You and Jungkook were laughing at your ideas and the whole class was burning in jealousy.

Suddenly someone came towards your desk.

Random girl: Jungkook Oppa (I don't know why they call him Oppa.) Which college/University you wanna take admission to?

Jungkook: Well, I haven't decided it yet. I will decide with my entrance marks. Thanks for asking.

He told her with an expressionless face and the girl went away.

Yn: Kookie why didn't you tell her?

not as far as i know!

like last week LMAO. no funny story attached to that unfortunately i was just going through it </3

i like to joke that i have a hundred plus or minus a few dozen, depending, but no. i do not. also jokes aside i do not consider my students my actual children, but i do tend to refer to them as "my kids" lol

4. what sports do you play/have you played?

i did competitive lifesaving which is my favourite fun fact to pull out because most people don't believe it's a thing but it very much is (and it's a lot of fun!). otherwise i did just regular competitive swimming for many years as well and it's the only sport i still keep up with casually (or try to, anyway). i'm trying to earn back my gym bro status too lmao

5. do you use sarcasm?

honestly not as much as i used to? but i'm a psychologist-diagnosed cynic so it comes with the territory i guess

5. what is the first thing you notice about people?

usually what they're wearing, which isn't really like...something i care about necessarily. i just like fashion

7. what's your eye color?

8. scary movies or happy endings?

i am fascinated by this question because i've never considered these things even remotely close to mutually exclusive but shjdfghjdk i guess happy endings. scary movies are fine, i just don't really have much interest in them

writing has kind of always been my thing but i consider that more of a skill than a talent per se. not sure i'd consider myself particularly talented at anything lol. i've always been pretty good at public speaking and giving presentations, i guess?

writing, reading, drawing, cooking, gaming, language-learning, wikipedia surfing, downloading and uploading, you know how it is

oh oui cachemire my sweet little cotton ball of a cat (she is very white and a little overweight shjdfhgjdk). haven't lived with my parents in 5 years but i still consider the dog my dog and the cat my cat as well. i just don't see them much these days sadly

13. how tall are you?

5'9"/175cm, though a few years ago i learned i'm actually more like 5'8-and-a-bit" which was pretty devastating to me. but 9" with shoes on so i still claim that

14. favorite subject in school?

i went on to become an english language arts teacher, so yeah. but physics and chemistry in high school were probably the classes that were actually the most interesting to me

15. dream job?

i'm living it!! i always wanted to be a teacher, except for a few brief periods of my life when i doubted the reasons behind my career choices, etc. but generally speaking, the work i do makes me very happy and other people have told me they can tell from the way i talk about it, which is nice :) just need to hope that i can actually find a good contract for next year so i don't stay stuck in the sub vortex forever lol

uhhhh i mean earlier in my drawing journey i took forever to draw and i really hated drawing bc i took a super long time to draw and i didn't like anything i made and no one else liked anything i made so it was just like wow i spent all that time for nothing. still glad i did it though bc that era was still an important step in my art development. anyways as for more recent pieces uhh. my piece for the yorknew auction took a while, mostly because i had 0 time or energy and it was a really involved piece

👔Design process for [x] character

oh my god guys ask me about my magical girl designs and i will go insane i will type up a whole essay. i'll talk about kyrie cause i like her a lot

here's the design! so she drowned (or rather, was drowned by someone else) at 16 after being stalked for a couple months and eventually kidnapped. not exactly the lightest story, but bc it was so traumatic her brain erased the memories, and she doesn't find out the real cause of death until much later in the story, when kye comes across a guy who lived in kyrie's town and gets the full story.

her outfit is themed after ophelia for. obvious reasons. i looked up paintings/common interpretations of ophelia and found that she was commonly depicted in a white and gold dress with reddish-brown hair half up. oh, and flowers. so i ran with that. the white streaks in her hair were actually not part of the initial plan, but when i was using the bucket tool it left blank streaks and i just thought it looked nice.

for the flowers i chose forget-me-nots because she loses her memory, and then the hands on the skirt represent her fight to stay alive (both while drowning and before) and how she reached out for help in the months leading up to her death but no one answered. she's also, in a way, reaching for her lost memories, who she used to be, etc etc. the blue thingy in the back was initially supposed to be a mermaid tail as like. a single callback to the little mermaid (and the fact that she was a really good swimmer, so it's ironic that she drowned), but i took the mermaid aspect out & added in the two eyes.

the eyes are like. the feeling of being watched. the eye at the front will always look at kyrie no matter what, and the eye in the back will look at anyone else it can find, as if pleading for help. i just noticed the bracelet? not sure why that's there. probably just for fun. anyways the ring with the star on it is from a play called 'the princess who had no name', which is about a princess with amnesia who's trying to find out who she is and where she came from.

and finally, the weapon! it's meant to be a sparkler, like the little fireworks yk? it's a callback to the very first draft of her character from like 2 years ago, back when the kyries shared the name lylie instead & i had written absolutely nothing about her character. but i was reading through the old plot/character info a while ago and i found out she apparently really liked fireworks??? that was like my only piece of info about her. i figured since she'd changed so much it was only fair i put a little something from her roots. but the sparkler can also represent how 'bright' she appears to be; people are drawn towards her, for better or worse.

📆Earliest fandom you did fanart for/first fanart

the first fandom i remember like really being hyperfixated on was.... miraculous ladybug................. BUT i didn't make any fanart for it, so instead you get the very first real piece of art i ever made on my computer :)

shoutout to me for drawing those wings by hand. i didn't know how to use the flip tool so i just spent like 4 hours trying to make them symmetrical. and now i can't even remember how to draw butterfly wings. smh

uh idk i do a lot of redraws. lately i've been doing redraws + asking friends for cool poses + looking at stock images for inspiration

💚Things you like about [x] drawing

i'll go with that aubrey piece from one of the earliest questions. i like how the emotions came across in both her expression and the coloring, and how much more fluid the pose is. i think the shading & rendering is neat. overall it's a big improvement from the piece i was redrawing so im really proud of that & it's nice to see how far i've come in a relatively short amount of time

⏳Things you’d do differently with [x] drawing

using the same drawing, uhh... idk there's some stuff with the proportions that like. sometimes looks fine to me and sometimes looks off? i really just eyeball anatomy and stuff so it's not always particularly Good. i like the colors i have here but they're not the colors i was intending to use. i didn't really know how to draw the jacket and everything i did with the top just looked strange so they're not As Detailed or 'good' as they probably could be? there's parts where i got lazy and all that but all in all i really like this drawing and nothing big really jumps out at me, these are all just nitpicks

hmmmmmmm i really like the few like. paragraph responses i've gotten. i appreciate every single comment i get but like when people rave to you about your art???? that's so nice. i can't really pick out a critique i've heard that super super helped me off of the top of my head, but there's power in knowing what you can do better next time

So Bad Girls, real good, gets even better with Consequences (also cool more drowning in Consequences with Faith drowning Buffy this time), with Buffy's reaction to the coverrup and Faith spiralling and she really comes into her own as a mirror for both Angel and Buffy around about now, I love Angel as her murder sponsor I wish it lasted longer. I also love that the whole Slayers murder people sometimes it happens Watcher'sll generally just move past it. It's just great fallout and great mess. Her dynamic with the Mayor also great, perfect mixture of affection and veiled threat from him and her just wanting someone to tell her she's doing a great job, and it's also a good mirror for the Buffy Angel dynamic in parts I have written down for Choices a quote from the Mayor talking about Angel and Buffy "Keeping a blossoming young girl from the life she should have," which is also gonna happen to Faith since I know she's gonna end up in jail at some point as a result of siding with the mayor. Also like the gradual building her up to be his Dragon with him not sending her to kill Willow in Doppelgangland, her killing the demon who had the books in Enemies (sidenote I have written down great outfit for Faith this episode, and I just checked what she was wearing and yes that was a correct note(Double sidenote: I also did not see that the Angelus turn was a fake coming either)) but clearly not handling the blood on her hands well reminding her of the deputy mayor to casually killing with the bow and then chopping off the guy's hand in Choices and then even more casually killing that Geologist with a knife in Gradutation Day, its a good step by step it wasn't like immediate.

The big sewer break up in The Prom was worth all the mini break ups, I guess, Sarah Michelle Gellar is just so good at that crying she does and that line and delivery she gives in the scene with Willow afterwards "I think horrible is still coming. Right now is worse. Right now I'm just trying to keep from dying," was sooo good. Also I knew the Class Protector moment was coming but it was still nice to see.

Anyway I watched Graduation Day part 1 last night and I gotta say they did a great job this series with keeping Faith looking strong for the big fight with Buffy, they've thrown down a few times but gone out of their way to make sure there's not been a clean proper ending to one of them yet, unlike last series with Angelus who IIRC got slapped down pretty conclusively the episode he lost his soul and survived entirely on the merit of Buffy not wanting to kill him (which is a fair dynamic don't get me wrong and Angelus got a lot of good psychological play), and that combined with the dynamic of Buffy going hard for the kill in this fight and Faith loving it along with the actual fight itself, it's definitely my favourite of the show thus far, and then falling off the roof onto the truck just to spite Buffy so she's killed her nothing great stuff.

Also wasn't expecting Anya to become a regular, she's fun I like her, but also shout out to Willow for being the only core cast member capable of a relationship not with a demon vastly older than them or worse Wesley.

Also also since I watched Graduation Day Part 1, gonna watch Part 2 tonight and then I gotta figure out what the rotation I'm gonna go with for Angel I assume there's gonna be some crossover even though I don't remember anything that seemed particularly weird from back when I watched it all that time ago, though I do wonder if they cover the whole the sun got turned off for a few weeks, Satan himself walks the Earth and Angel lost his soul again, guess that's a job for Faith in jail to solo she's got it.

Really enjoyed the first have of Series 3 but I really really enjoy the second half

anyway as always, love hear your thoughts, and very glad you enjoyed s3. i don't think the high school years of buffy are better than what comes after (some of my favorite episodes come in the later seasons!) but I do think 1 - 3 are really special in the way they're very tightly woven together. season 3 is about season 2 which is about season 1. there's still continuity and reverberating themes in the later seasons, but nothing AS direct and i honestly love the 1:1 moments.

now that you're caught up through s3 i'll leave you a few of my favorite fics to read:

moonshot by aliceinwonderbra - this is a two-shot canon-divergence AU starting at hearshot that focuses on what could have been different if faith had been present. if buffy had insight into faith's fractured mindset, could that change things? first chapter is the episode re-write and has some incredibly good character study. second chapter is the timeskip happy ending, very cute. and very smutty.

coexist by coraniaid - total s3 AU. canon divergence from season 2, beginning with the question of "what would have changed if angelus had killed giles instead of jenny calendar?" the answer is: A LOT. LIKE. SO MUCH. but also not everything. beautiful, intricately latticed stuff here, dude. major s3 events are changed, subverted or replaced in ways that are gonna have you like :0

to hold off the lightning by cinnamonfiglatte - canon divergence starting after finch is killed. this story explores what would have happened if buffy and co actually HAD been able to get through to faith and pull her out of her spiral. faith's arc is so richly and powerfully written that her lack of full-blown villain arc does nothing to lessen the depth of her journey and complexity. it fuckin owns. amazing slow burn romance here and the characterization is incredible.

oh i love english, i always loved english. and math! i actually really loved math up until i took calculus. my calculus teacher was horrible, he made you feel stupid for asking questions and he intentionally made the tests too long to finish in a class period and made them extra confusing, it left me in tears more than once. cried at school bc i failed a lot of those tests. anyway i got a 5 on my AP exam for calculus (highest score) so i understood the material, my teacher just sucked and made me hate math after i'd loved it my entire life so ✌️

also loved my theatre classes in high school ahhhh

15. Dream job?

i think something working with cats / big cats / red pandas would be really fun. not a vet necessarily, i don't think i could handle it lol, but like a cat rescue or animal sanctuary maybe??? idk honestly

but yeah mostly agree with the "something that won't drain me and actually leaves me with savings and a will to live" answer. i like my current job/workplace/coworkers a lot more than my last job, but i still don't know if i'd want to be in this field until i retire, that's so many more years and clients sometimes make me wanna bash my head into a wall lol

i have a hard time with the ~dream job~ question bc i've just never felt like i had a "calling" or any overwhelming grand idea with what i've wanted to do with my life, i'm just vibing my way through somehow

some of my wlw Lumine ships ideas because brain too slow for a proper plot:

1. Lumine learned in Sumeru how to make a perfect cup of coffee for Jean and how to prepare Lisa's favourite tea. Lumine and Lisa conspire to get Jean to take a break and it's usually a picnic. Jean ends up lying on their laps, Lumine resting her head on Lisa's shoulder

2. Lumine brings Sucrose all the stuff from her travelers that could be useful/interesting. their dates are often in a lab, Lumine assisting Sucrose or just listening to Surcose mumbling. she nay not understand everything but she is a great listener

3. Lumine sends Ningguang a letter some time before visiting Liyue so she can free up her schedule for their irregular dates. the dates vary from going to an expensive restaurant, staying in the Jade Chamber or going out for adventuring. they take walks around the harbour at night, both to enjoy the way the lights reflect in the water and for some semblance of anonymity

4. Lumine and Ei's love language is sparring. Ei teaches Lumine Inazuman specific techniques, both for polearm and sword. however they do enjoy sharing quiet times together, drinking tea and telling stories of things long gone. Lumine makes Ei all kinds of sweets and Ei can't even say anything about overindulgence because Lumine looks so happy when Ei eats everything she cooked

5. Miko and Lumine had a fwb arrangement that slowly morphed into an actual relationship. nevermind that it took forever for them to acknowledge they are in love. and then another forever to confess

6. Nilou gives Lumine dancing classes! and they are so sweet together everyone gets cavities

7. in the archon quest as soon as Paimon goes away Lumine kisses Dehya, "i thought the smile wasn't enough of a payment" . Dehya was redder than her pyro vision while Lumine was just unbearably smug. Paimon was confused

8. Arlecchino and abyss Lumine are also friends with benefits but the benefits are also more power and influence for Arlecchino and intel on Tsaritsa for Lumine. they don't trust each other to not backstab, yet still sleep in the same bed. Arlecchino is the only person allowed into Lumine's bedchambers

9. Lumine and Signora hooked up after the events of the Liyue archon quest and Lumine did grieve for Signora and what they could have been

10. Lumine and Jeht kissed in the middle of tunnels and ruins when their companions looked away and then giggled about it. Jeht also shared her perfume with Lumine when she mentioned liking the scent (Jeht applied it too btw)

11. abyss Lumine actively helped Gold with experiments and maybe even allowed her to experiment on her too. Gold had a lab by the palace of Khaenri'ah royalty and that's how they met

12. abyss Lumine and Tsaritsa are bitter exes who broke up because of different views/goals. Lumine visits Tsaritsa's chambers regularly anyway

relationship status: . surprisingly, for the first time in my life, i have a qpp/boyfriend! it happened officially last night after a long time of kinda. awkward feelings. its one of those things where we're both on the aro spectrum and we don't think its actually going to change our relationship a lot, just a new label. I'm still polyam, so i dont consider myself taken or single really, i just happen to be in a qpr now!

favourite colours: Neons,and sunshine yellows !

favourite foods: oooh. new haven style pizza. my ideal pizza is always a thin crust brick oven base with red sauce, tomato slices, ricotta, garlic, spinach and eggplant (and mozzerella and Romano ofc) It's literally the best tasting pizza ever even tho its. very expensive when u add all those toppings lmao!!! and as always. paired with birch beer soda bc there is not a single better soda out there for pairing with new haven style pizza!

24: What is/are/were your best subject(s)?

i'm gonna be honest i was kinda good at everything? except geography, for some reason that always escaped my understanding (i still talk to my high school geography teacher sometimes and we both have no idea why this subject in particular was so hard for me. she also taught english lit where i got excellent results). i guess my top top subjects were probably maths (also weird. i didn't like maths necessarily, i just got it. this would annoy the shit out of my maths teachers bc i would pay no attention and literally like. read a book in maths class. and then i got perfect results) and music (duh). and most lit classes.

58: Favourite weather?

i used to play the tumblr girlie game and pretend/convince myself i liked autumn with its chilly but still not too cold weather. but actually i like warmth. i like a sunny day with no wind or rain. i'm not talking like unbearable heat, just comfortably warm. a good 25°C. unfortunately we don't get much of that here, we usually go from winter to summer (ie like 30-45°C) pretty abruptly.

70: Is there anyone you would die for?

ok so for reasons i've had recurring nightmares and intrusive thoughts for the past three years about my loved ones dying, and especially my siblings. so yes i would be forever fucked up if anything happened to them, and i would die for them in an instant.

i wouldn't die for someone who is significantly older than me, like a parent/parental figure, because i feel like that would upset the order of things. parents shouldn't watch their children die, especially not for them. i would be doing more harm than good.

as for my friends, there aren't many things that i wouldn't do for them. i would drop everything and fly across the world, i would marry them to get them out of a bad situation, i would give them all my money. but i can't say that i'd die for them. not because i don't care, but because they would be so upset with me for doing so. i don't want to inflict that kind of trauma on anyone.

so yeah, just my siblings, because i genuinely couldn't live without them, so i figure i'll die anyway, might as well do it to save them

HEEEEYYYY i am finally FREE from spring quarter EVERYONE CHEER !!! but then i am going to have summer classes starting from next monday so crying and laughing T^T so i hope you do not mind that i will talk about school rq

i just turned in my art final last thursday after i flew in to washington ... jfc i was going through it honestly ... the art final was like a "art history" final. i had to answer 43 questions for multiple choice, do 4 short answer prompts and then a whole essay like what is wrong with this professor ... mind you not, this class is an online, lower-division ge so like why am i putting my whole ass into this

also my ochem prof released grades for the class overall and let me tell you i seriously was gonna cry bc i was so scared if i was gonna pass the class or not ... but ... I GOT A C yk what i am fine with that bc i did horrible on two exams (below avg) and pretty decent on the other (above avg) ... but i feel disappointed that i have been getting Cs on my chem classes so far :( but i think i will be getting my first ever A in the bio class tho !!! which is like kinda bad but i am proud of myself at the same time :")

I feel like it always takes me forever to respond... which is on brand for me cause I take ages to respond to everyone but honestly that's a character flaw and should work on that... anyway, I'm sorry that you're not enjoying your classes that really sucks -_- class can be hard to get though even when you do like it but when you don't it's torture. My favourite things of April

It's time again to talk about the media and stuff that I consumed and liked in april (doesn't mean it all got released in april.) April was a lazy month for me, spent the beginning being home sick, spent the rest not doing too much else...

Next month I'll probably also watch something that's not kdrama (don't quote me on this tho)

TV shows

Twenty Five Twenty One

(I will discuss some spoilers, including the ending, skip if you plan on checking this out blind) (also i wrote this in the beginning of the month and its really long and im not going to go through it again so feel free to skip either way) So I originally debated talking about this in my post from last month, because I watched most of the show during march, and the last two episodes were released 2nd and 3rd of April. But I decided to talk about it here, with time to think about it. This show was special, the ending was super controversial, most people hating it. It wasn't my fave, I think I'd liked it better maybe if I was aware from the beginning that the show's relationships were only temporary. I don't think it would've hurt the story. This show is a coming of age youth drama bordering on the melodramatic. Don't be fooled by places that call it a romcom. The romance is an important part of the show, but you'll be disappointed if you focus only on the romantic relationships, it's so much more. Our five main characters are Na Hee Do (Kim Taeri) a high school fencer, her rival and national fencing star Ko Yoo Rim (Bona), Baek Yi Jin (Nam Joo Hyuk) who was forced to leave uni after his family went bankrupt due to a financial crisis, Ji Seung Wan (Lee Ju Myung) the high school class president and Moon Ji Woong (Choi Hyun Wook) the popular boy as school and Seung Wan's childhood friend. Na Hee Do dreams of becoming Yoo Rim's rival, and after her own high school fencing team has to close down due to the crisis, she decides she wanna transfer to Yoo Rim's school. The show focuses on youth, becoming adults, fencing, first loves, overcoming tough times, etc. Hee do and Yi Jin's relationship is so so good in this show, and the first 3/4s of the show is just pure friends to lovers. Hee Do and Yoo Rim's rivalry was great to follow too, and the show managed to give screentime and focus to all five characters in a meaningful way. I feel like I'm rambling, I'm never clear in these kinds of posts lmao The show takes place in the late 90s, early 2000s (I love the retro of it all), and it's told through Hee Do's diaries of the time, which Hee Do's daughter is reading in the present day (2021) Many were not big fans of this part of the show... It's not pulling it's punches about reality, time and how friendships (especially from your youth) can fade. I don't think this is wrong to portrait, I think it's nice to just be aware of it, and not hoping for the perfect ending for our characters. I too have friends I lost contact with, who I don't meet up with, even though at the time it felt like what we had would last forever. That's life... Whether or not the show could've handled this better, is up for debate. I don't have the words to discuss that, but if you're planning on watching this show, have tissues ready lmao. ANYWAYS. I loved the fencing drama in this show, I loved following these characters work on themselves, following their dreams, becoming their best selves, being young adults, making mistakes, standing up for themselves and their beliefs, learning to smile during tough times, working towards a better future. I think the acting was phenomenal, I cried and I laughed, I've listened to the soundtrack on repeat since. Kim Taeri is still one of my favourite Korean actors, and Nam Joo Hyuk did phenomenally in the role of Yi Jin. I kinda wanna fence now... Even if the ending wasn't my favourite, this show was still one of my favourite things of april (and march)

My Country: The New Age

Oh boy. This one has been on my list for some time, and I actually for some reason thought it was a movie, but turns out it's a full 16 episode season. Anyways.. This shit was right up my alley. It takes place way back during the end of 1300s i think? (my knowledge of Korean history is still limited) during the transitional period between the Goryeo dynasty and the Joseon dynasty. Some characters and events are based on real history, but a lot of our main characters are made up for this drama. We follow mainly two young men who are childhood friends turned.. not enemies, but adversaries? due to a misunderstanding, the times, the social ranks, political drama, you name it. It's very angsty (which I love) and a bit of a tragedy. On top of the nice acting and the drama, this show is also just filled with beautiful sets and beautiful costumes. Even during the most emotional scenes, i still found myself just admiring their outfits lmao.

Taxi Driver

The premise of this series is just amazing, our main character Kim Do Ki (Lee Je Hoon) is the titular Taxi Driver, he is part of a little group of avengers (no not that kind) for hire, that take on clients who have reached a point in their life where they're often pushed towards suicide, due to traumatic events caused by other morally reprehensible people. The show touches on various kinds of awful behavior, from high school bullying to serial killing. It was honestly quite satisfying to watch some of these revenge calls in action, not gonna lie. Parallel to this story we also follow Prosecutor Kang Ha Na (Esom) who ends up investigating some of the same crimes that the revenge taxi crew is working on, and the two sides (the law and the... vigilantes??) obviously clash at some point due to their somewhat similar goal... Listen, this shit is good, just take my word for it.

Close-knit

This one has ALSO been on my list forever, finally sat down and watched it. This Japanese film is a touching story about an 11 year old girl, Tomo, whose mother is mostly gone in her life. Her uncle takes her in for the time being, and there she meets her uncle's girlfriend, Rinko, who's a transgender woman. Here she's being taken care of and shown love that her own mother seems to not have shown her much of. The movie is simple and sweet, but not a fantasy. It's loving and supportive, but also at times hurtful and sad. It doesn't fall into awful stereotypes, and it's very frank and open about Rinko's transition.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0

We were finally allowed to watch this in Denmark! Loved it, it was pretty faithful to the manga with a few added scenes and such for flavour. The story works as a standalone, but I believe you get the best out of it with prior knowledge of the anime's first season and/or the manga, even though it is technically a prequel. Animation was amazing, matched the anime, the soundtrack too. It introduces Yuuta as a protagonist, and we get to see the second years from the anime during their first year which is always nice! It's a must see if you're into JJK and if youre not into JJK then get to it lmao

Elden Ring

Ayooo I finished Elden Ring. I don't have too much to add, I think early game exploration was a bit more exciting than late game exploration, some of the late game enemies and bosses were extremely tough (I'm looking at you Malenia bLaDe oF mIqUeLlA...) but I got all the trophy bosses! Thanks to other people letting me summon them hehehe 10/10 (also I've used around 20 hours of my playtime helping people fight mostly Maliketh, and it feels so good when I succeed)

the best friend couple!!! sapnap tells you literally everything. any drama going on or any strong emotions he’s feeling, you know about it. most of the time, the second something happens his brain immediately goes “omg i have to tell y/n”. you guys always complain about the same things and get excited over the same things. you are genuinely one of the most important people in his life and he doesn’t know how he’d do it without you.

C is for Comfort (How do they comfort their s/o?)

he will literally drop everything just to hold you and not speak for like hours if you so needed. he strikes me as a naturally comforting person to the people he really cares about so I say he gets an A+ in this department

D is for Dates (What are dates with them like?)

dates with sapnap are either really chill or super fun. he’s the type of guy that would take you to play laser tag or to an arcade or a trampoline park. he’s like a little kid i love sapnap :3

he’s a pretty expressive person when it comes to certain things. at the very least he definitely wears his heart on his sleeve a little so it isn’t hard to tell even if he does try hiding stuff. and like I said he tells you everything.

F is for Fiancé (How long into the relationship before they propose?)

I feel like he’s so young and he really just wouldn’t be thinking about that too seriously for awhile. like he loves you and you guys have talked about having a future together but he isn’t in any rush at all. hell just do it when he feels is the right time not matter how long it takes.

G is for Gentle (Are they gentle?)

it depends on the situation. he’s definitely the type of guy to pick you up from a super comfy position and just body slam you on the bed. but if he can tell you’re not in the mood to play around like that he’ll just sit down and hold you, so yeah he can be gentle. but most of the time be prepared for playful fist fights and getting picked up and thrown every now and then lol.

H is for Hand Holding (How do they like hand holding?)

sapnap always holds your hand. in fact he makes an effort to search for it whenever you aren’t holding hands. and sometimes he’ll even get whiny about it especially with like a lot of people around he’ll be like, “babe, why aren’t you holding my hand :( what if I get lost how are you gonna find me this place is big”

I is for I Love You (Who said “I love you” first?)

he did !! the first time sapnap said “I love you” was probably one of his most confident moments. he was so proud to be able to say it and so sure of himself and his feelings for you.

J is Jealousy (Do they get jealous?)

YES OH MY GOD. he gets super jealous and it’s so easy to tell omg. his attitude starts to get like super bad and he is very clearly annoyed by the situation. he won’t ever be too overbearing about it and if you ever feel like he is once you sit him down and explain that he’ll back off a bit. but he’s still gonna be bothered by it so just always remind him that he love him and no one else.

K is for Kiss (What’s kissing them like?)

THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IM ACTUALLY GOING TO BE DESCRIPTIVE SO IM SORRY IF ITS CRINGE. anyways, he’d be a pretty deep kisser but not like full on making out every single time. he just likes to make them last and he isn’t one to just give you random kisses all throughout the day so it always feels special. kissing him makes you feel all warm and happy inside.

L is for Love Language (What’s their love language?)

sapnaps love language is quality time or acts of service!! i’d say mainly quality time. even while long distance he just likes having you on call while he does stuff or even just complaining to you about how tired he is while actively not going to bed so he can keep talking to you lol. he just likes having you around it’s a huge comfort for him. i say acts of service because he would get so giddy and happy anytime you did something special for him. he would show it off and brag about it forever and it would genuinely mean so much to him aahhajdxh i love sapnap

For your first time seeing each other irl, sapnap flew to where you live and you guys spent a whole week together. his favorite memories are definitely from that first week of seeing each other in person. of course you guys already had an amazing relationship while long distance, but there’s something so different about finally meeting the person you’re with in real life. it felt like he had to start over from scratch and you guys had to get to know each other all over again. also the idea of now having to build a physical bond. it was just such an amazing and beautiful experience. definitely the one that made him realize he really is in love with you.

IM SO BAD AT THINKING OF CUTE NAMES USHSJDH. probably just babe tho lol. for fem!readers, i can totally picture him using princess in a slightly sarcastic tone.

mmm i’d say he actually starts opening up to you pretty early into the relationship. If you guys were like really close friends before hand he’s definitely already opened up to you. He doesn’t really have that many people in his life that he doesn’t trust.

P is for PDA (Are they into PDA?)

not really but he isn’t like super shy about it if that makes sense ??? like he’s 100% fine with hand holding, hugging, and light pecks when saying hello or goodbye.

Q is for Quiz (How much do they remember about you?)

I don’t think he really tries to remember stuff but he just does and he’s always making connections to you and things he sees and stuff it’s so cute :)

he tries but he isn’t exactly the most romantic boy. like I said before you guys have a best friend type of connection so when it comes to romance he doesn’t go too above and beyond because he just doesn’t feel like he needs to. but on special occasions he will do something nice for you. He likes taking you out places !!

very much of both. once again, total sapnap vibes. i’d say he’s a lot more possessive than protective. he would never stop you from doing things like going out without him and having guy friends or making flirty jokes. he trusts you so much partly cus he’s a little narcissistic LMAO. but when a serious threat comes about he can get kinda crazy.

T is for Try (How much effort do they put into the relationship?)

GAAAAAA HE PUTS SO MUCH EFFORT IN!! you would probably be like his first ever serious partner so he would try his best at literally everything. in the beginning of the relationship you could totally tell how nervous he was at times but as you guys got more comfortable he just became an effortlessly amazing bf

This week's (16-08-2021 - 22-08-2021) reading log is here. This week's reading log is super duper long and filled with lots of good things (my apologies for the long post, I really could not find a good spot to do a read more). I discovered some new favourites and re-read some old favourites and while I had an intense week personally at least the fics I read were absolutely phenomenal. I do recommend checking out the warnings as some fics are a bit heavier/angstier and you might wanna be prepared. Most of these fics are Stucky but there are a couple of other ships in between.

He scrambled about trying to pick them all up, and then dropped them again as someone bumped right into his backside. He lost his balance, caught himself against a bookcase, and a landslide of "Carter Is a Painter’s Cat" joined "Strictly No Elephants" on the floor. He yelped.

“Ah fuck, I’m so sorry… Chris!”

Steve glances once more at Bucky, who now has his arms crossed against his chest and is pointedly not looking at Steve, before picking up the stack of folded papers. He opens them, seeing a collection of maybe five or six sheets of paper. His eyes immediately land on the list of familiar words with negative next to each one. -- Or, Steve Rogers is a jealous, possessive little shit that wants nothing more than to mark up his boyfriend and stake his claim. And Bucky knows it. (And he likes it.)
