What subject AOT vets would teach
(Erwin, Levi, Hange, Miche, Pixis, Hannes, Nile)
Erwin: He teaches English and AP Government. He has first, second, and third period English and teaches fourth period AP Gov. He also wears a tie to school every day and does Sudoku or cross words during class and passing periods. Has the lunch ladies put his lunch in the fridge since it's colder than the mini fridge he has in his classroom, and everyone says hi to him or talks to him on his way back to class. Watch the history channel after school and during lunch.
Levi: Slightly strict History teacher that everyone loves. If you ask him a stupid question, he'll respond with, “I'm not answering useless questions.” Doesn't hesitate to send people to the principal, but never really gives detention because he doesn't want to stay after school with a bunch of teenagers in his classroom. But if you ask him for help or tell him you don't understand something, he will stay after school to help you understand the work. Has the best test scores in the school.
Hange: Biology teacher that somehow still has a job. They've had so many accidents during experiments that they have a helper teacher (Moblit) in their classroom to keep them from blowing up the school. Yes. They do experiments that could cause explosions. In a biology class. Don't ask. Has an entire snack drawer, microwave, coffee machine, and kettle of water with hot chocolate packets in a basket next to it, in their classroom. Is seen as the 'cool teacher' and always has people sitting in their classroom during lunch.
Miche: Super cool math teacher whose class students always request to switch into. Teaching style makes it super easy for everyone to understand and is super nice. He also gives great advice and when girls spray themselves in body mist before class ends, he doesn't get upset. When grading tests, he writes little notes like 'your shoes were cool that day' or 'I liked your shirt that day' Also has the best test scores and grades out of all the math teachers.
Pixis: Law teacher who uses his own charges as what not to do. Also gets a lot of parking/ speeding tickets and complains about how cops are dicks. Never gives a grade below a C- because "at least you tried” Has something called 'movie Thursday and Friday' where at the end of class on Wednesdays everyone votes for a movie then the last half of class on Thursday and all class Friday (sometimes all of Thursday and Friday depending on the movie length) he puts of a movie for everyone to watch.
Hannes: "Teaches" Statistics, but he actually just uses it as a free period and everyone passes his class. Since he's good friends with Eren, Mikasa, and Armin's parents, the three of them hang out in his classroom the period before lunch since their teacher lets them out like half an hour early so she can go on her own lunch break early. His entire chalk board is covered in drawings, and for some reason has a fridge with every juice you can think of. (He says it helps with hangovers)
Nile: Finance teacher. Strict grader and gets asked about Erwin since people know that they went to high school together. He may be a strict grader and give a lot of homework, but his tests and pop quizzes are a piece of cake. Has a box of saltine crackers on his desk for some reason and always has Werther's Originals with him where ever he goes. Has the WORST coffee breath and only drinks one cup of black coffee all day.

She looks at the group standing outside her door, puzzled for a moment, until her blue eyes lock with Josh’s. Her blonde hair is tucked neatly behind her ears, and pumpkin earrings dangle from her earlobes. She’s wearing a copper-colored fall sweater, adorned with leaves around the collar that match her bulletin board. Her ID badge dangles from her neck, one of those ink pens in a bright, funky color clipped to her lanyard. “Miss Moss,” CJ says. “This is Mr. Lyman from the high school."
the first thing we do by fiery_one_18 | Rated T | Ainsley Hayes/Sam Seaborn, Josh Lyman/Donna Moss, C. J. Cregg/Kate Harper | In Progress |  The days were getting shorter, the nights were getting colder, and he had begun to partake in his seasonal sweater collection. Which could only mean one thing in his still-quite-young life: the season of Mock Trial was officially upon Sam Seaborn. … Sam’s tunnel vision hadn’t quite cleared enough to pay attention to who Mr. McGarry was talking to, but he sort of had to pay attention when the bearer of the distinctly Southern drawl walked right by, snapping him out of whatever rage coma his mind had placed him in. And Sam definitely knew he was back and wide awake when a long blonde ponytail with a purposeful stride sat down right in front of him in what appeared to be her new seat. Josh’s seat, actually. Not that she seemed to realize that; it made sense— she was probably a… transfer. Oh fuck no. Fuck no. Fuck no. Fuck— “Hi, I’m Ainsley,” Ponytail turned around, blue eyes piercing the very depths of his fucking soul. “What’s your name?” … Welcome to Landingham Academy’s 20th Annual Mock Trial Season!
Stick around for our reblog coming momentarily with this week's new fics and chapter updates!!

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — City councilors in West Virginia's Democrat-controlled capital city voted against a proposal from the state's long-time abortion provider to start a syringe service program in one of the country's most opioid-devastated areas.
The 17 to 9 vote on Monday came two years after the council and the Republican-controlled state Legislature passed regulations restricting the programs, which are supported by the Centers for Disease Control as scientifically-proven methods to curb drug use and prevent the spread of infections like hepatitis c and HIV. The opposition said they feared the program would bring increased drug use and crime into Charleston's west side, a low-income area that has suffered from redlining and historic disinvestment.
Supporters of the Women's Health Center of West Virginia said drug use is already prevalent and that a syringe service program would help more people get into recovery in the community, which has also historically seen the city’s highest percentage of emergency overdose calls.
The meeting was the latest development in a years-long, highly contentious battle for recognition of what is considered medical best practice for harm reduction in substance use disorder and its intersection with poverty, race, and economic equity in West Virginia’s capital city.
“Our city is dying — it's our responsibility to do something about it," said Republican Frank Annie, a sponsor of the proposal and a research scientist specializing in cardiovascular health at Charleston Area Medical Center Memorial Hospital.
Annie, who represents the more affluent South Hills and was working with a coalition of all-Democratic councilors, spoke about the high rates of hepatitis c, HIV and endocarditis from intravenous drug use that are “crippling” local healthcare systems.
Dr. Adina Elise Bowe, an addiction psychiatrist with Charleston Area Medical Center, asked councilors to put “emotions aside and look at the evidence" supported by three decades of medical research.
West Virginia is the U.S. state with the highest rate of opioid overdoses. In 2021, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention declared Charleston the scene of the country’s “most concerning HIV outbreak” due to intravenous drug use.
Women’s Health Center of West Virginia providers said their proposal was part of an effort to expand services for marginalized communities now that a near-total ban on abortion is in effect in the state.
Syringe service programs operate by allowing people to exchange dirty syringes used to inject drugs for clean, sterile ones. They are CDC-recommended methods to curb the spread of infection and typically offer a range of services, including referrals to counseling and substance use disorder treatment.
Such programs exist nationwide, but they are not without critics, who say they don’t do enough to prevent drug use. The city has one syringe service program now, located in the more affluent east end. A program run out of the Charleston-Kanawha Health Department was shuttered by the city in 2018.
West Virginia Republican Gov. Jim Justice signed a law in 2021 requiring syringe providers to be licensed with the state and recipients to show proof of residency and return each needle after use.
The Charleston City Council followed with an ordinance requiring programs to collect at least 90% of the syringes distributed. Exchange programs violating the restrictions can be charged with a misdemeanor criminal offense, adding fines of $500 to $1,000 per offense. The programs also must be approved by the council and county commission.
Christy Day, a Black west side resident who spoke against the proposal, said she's tired of coming to city council to talk about programs like syringe service without an equity plan focused on bringing other needed resources, like new families and businesses like grocery stores.
Larry Moore, the city council member representing the west side, said people in his community feel like they haven't always had a voice in decisions that are made in the city.
Kenny Matthews, a Black man in recovery from opioid use who lives on west side, said syringe service programs save lives by building trust with a hard-to-access community and connecting people to treatment while offering resources like fentanyl test strips and overdose-reversal drugs.
“What we’re asking to be done is to allow people to be surrounded by people that say, ‘You’re worth living. You have something to contribute, and you can be better,’” he said. “If we say that we don’t want harm reduction, then you’re saying that you don’t want people to live."
After the meeting, Democratic Mayor Amy Goodwin — who voted against the proposal — said she sees the benefit of syringe service programs and voted in support of the existing program run by a clinic for underinsured residents on the east end. But, she said more medical expert testimony and more time was needed to ask questions before being pushed to vote on this latest proposal. Women's Health Center providers said they reached out to Goodwin to talk about the program in June.

Title: Robots and Empire
Author: alinux
Rating: 0/5 stars
I really appreciate that Viz's inexplicable "planet of the apes" miniseries has given us this meme, but this doesn't cut it as a proper review
* A narrative voice: Ah, my old enemy, the Planck time!
* Picture of an oddly doll-like, Caucasian male scientist.
Dr. Goodness-Oh-Pye: You know how sometimes you're walking home and you pass a dude in a hat and you can tell he's evil by the fact that there is a dot over his hat? That's the Planck time.
A man in a baseball cap sits in a car with his family, including a small child. The child says something like "to me, the Planck time feels like when dad has to drive again."
The Planck time's magic power cancels out all your magic powers when you're next to it. See, the Planck time and all of us have an eternal, cosmic war, a war without end, and the planck time's trying to take us down and we have to fight it on every level.
* Picture of a man in a sports coat running through a plane's corridor. He looks at the reader and says "its like this: if you don't make the effort to accept the planck time -- wait, no, I have to go. Ah, crap, the wheels were made of straw! Damn it! I'll have to do this all over again!"
Hi, I'm Gov. Ron Paul and I want to talk to you about something that's important to me: the evil Planck time! I didn't always know about it, because I thought I was a good person. I wanted to be president. I ran a presidential campaign, but when I got to the White House I couldn't stop the evil Planck time from stealing the election from me. I tried to kick its ass but its magic power made me weak and sick and it beat me up. Then, I got to meet my wife, Laila, and we got married in a church in Austin, Texas, that we built with our savings. We named the church "Gov. Ron Paul."
I have learned that the Planck time is dangerous because it makes you weak and sick and then it steals your belongings. I don't believe in God but I think that God should have protected me from the planck time. All that is holy is holy, and I'm still a good person. I don't know if I'm going to heaven or hell but I know there is a Planck time and I know that you're going to have a Planck time when you're driving and you're next to one, and then you'll have to fight the Planck time to survive.
They say: "there is no Planck time for children," but I say: the Planck time can't defeat our love for our children, and then we can use our love to defeat the Planck time's magic power.
I ask you now to support me and the fight against the evil Planck time. If you need a place to send your money, send it to "Laila Paul," c/o Gov. Ron Paul, City Hall, Austin, TX.
* A short clip of President Ron Paul speaking.
Some of you may be asking yourself, "what does it mean that Dr. Goodness-Oh-Pye is physically distracting?" That's because his "destiny" is to create a new heaven and a new earth.
Words on a screen say: "one of the architects of our nation's health care system."
Dr. Goodness-Oh-Pye's destiny comes from the stars, from the Great Cosmos, from the great expanse that stretches between the stars. This has been the destiny of all the Dr. Goodness-Oh-Pyes who have come before him in the century after Christ's birth.
That is why we're gonna have to go to war. (Audio of drums.) There are two huge Planck times in our nation: there's the Planck time of money, and there's the money Planck time of power. You can't have freedom unless you defeat the Planck time -- unless you defeat the money Planck time.
* Superimposed over a picture of Rush Limbaugh: "I love my brother, Barack Hussein Obama, the president, the Savior, the messiah, a Black Jesus, yeah!"
Now, you all know that we need to make sure we don't have to have a great cosmos war, because it's bad and ugly and it kills innocent people and it makes a mess of things. We don't need to have that great cosmos war. What we need to do is, in this country, we need to work together to make sure we don't have a Planck time. We need to make sure that we don't turn it into a battlefield. We need to make sure that we try to work together to say that the Planck time is bad, that we need to defeat it and we need to fight it in order to defeat it.
An overweight guy in a baseball cap sits in a car at a stoplight.
We're going to defeat the evil Planck time because we're going to fight it on every level. We're going to work, we're going to save money, we're going to work hard -- all this stuff that we need to do -- to make sure that we don't face the great cosmos war

Day Forty-Two
Today was a day full of assessments, which meant it was also a day full of grading. Luckily, I’m a wizard, and grade tests and quizzes absurdly quickly, so I was still out of the building by 3:00PM this afternoon.
My GOV students had a test in the style of the AP Exam (just smaller: 35 multiple choice, 4 FRQs), and they were noticeably better at taking a test under time pressure. They didn’t let themselves get stuck. Most of them also figured out how to study more effectively for this kind of test, and especially how to be ready to write the FRQs; some of them are going to need to come and see me to get some help with that before doing a retake, but that’s alright. There’s still a lot of time for improvement, no one’s grade has been irreparably harmed. I know it can be difficult for high-achieving students to ask for help- it was for me when I was a teenager- so I’ll have to be persistent in encouraging it.
My World students had a quiz on unit content. It was open notes, and students had the questions ahead of time (they’re on the guide I hand out at the start of each unit), so a lot of them assumed they’d be able to ace it without any preparation. Meantime, I’d suggested that they should organize their notes ahead of time to make sure they knew where to find the answers. It was very obvious, when I did the grading, who took that advice and who didn’t.
A couple of them got really stressed out because they knew they were unprepared and were not going to earn good grades. I talked one down from blowing up at me by reminding him that I allow retakes, and that I also don’t weight any one thing high enough to torpedo someone’s average. I swear, sometimes kids think getting a C on a quiz will take an As to an F. I’ve often had to show them how grading calculations actually work to ease the anxiety.
After doing that, though, we went on with class, and it went really well.
Mr. W’s coming in to do our annual karate demo tomorrow, so my students and I read an article about the history of the particular style of karate he’s trained in. Since it’s information I have to know to test for my next belt, I told them they could quiz me, and they had a lot of fun with that (I got one question wrong in each section, heh). Lastly, I went over the expectations and rules for tomorrow, and fielded questions. My students seem skeptical about the fact that I’m going to get hit for real when Mr. W and I spar. Guess they’ll see!

hello!!! this is the same tired annon from before (who also has a bland pallet and sent an ask earlier today)
this might be my last ask sent considering i just got caught up on cough syrup but who knows i might get attached!
okay so for starters i’m here to say holy crap i love how you write tommy and i keep forgetting to say that! you do him more than justice, you do his character like double justice. (now i’m wondering what double justice would look like in the justice system…. probably lots of paperwork)
next i’m here to say holy moly macaroni you write dream so well. (i just realized i haven’t put !cs before things so i’m doing that now. i’m a bit tired and stuff so whejsmshfjd)  cs!dream gives me the heeby jeebies and i literally wanted to shake cs!ranboo by the shoulders the entire time he was interacting with cs!dream but i was also like hashtag relatable so oh well! you’ve just done the whole dynamic really well! (i know its not much but the fact that cs!dream was planting the ideas of “i’m your only friend/your friends want to hurt you” thoughts into cs!ranboo’s brain was an excellent touch! it was something i’ve learned about in a class about abusers and stuff and how they try and isolate people and yea c!dream did this so idk maybe i’m making a big deal out of nothing but. i thought you wrote it really well! like really well)
can you tell words are not my friend because oh boy they’re not
and of course how could i write this without mentioning cs!fundy! you wrote him so well and i’m intrigued by his character! i also really like how you wrote his dialogue while being all panicked! very nice to see that kind of stuttering written so well!
i also want you to know that, often, i find when you’ve said you feel like you’ve written something not well, you’ve actually done a real suburb job! maybe i’m not the best judge as i’m not much of a writer myself, but i feel like you don’t give yourself enough credit! you’re doing wonderful work here
and some final notes
-i’m in love with the pets and their inclination of the story! am i biased cause there was a cat sitting on my lap while i read the majority of cough syrup? yea, maybe… but hey i still really have enjoyed the pets!
-loving the trans rep
-i adore how tubbo will try and prompt ranboo to ramble on things! it’s so sweet and also i think it’s good for each of them in respective ways
-cs!jack manifold (do i need to say more?) (i will say more, i find jack to be perfectly characterized while also being in the background like yess pop off king even thou idk what he’s been up to)
-cs!beeduo are my little queer blorbos and i will hold them dearly till the day i die. here’s to hoping they realize one day how much they mean to each other (poor things think that they have all the issues and then look at the other and go “ah yes a wonderful human being” and honestly mood)
okay sorry for sending such long asks i just wish i could give you more praise (which i will do in following chapter comments i suppose) i was also going to talk about my ideas of house layouts but that’s a bit much, i’m just a fan of house layouts ehajdkjdjskf
but yea thank you for writing it, it’s been amazing to read (i’m also tired again so sleepy time!! good night!)
anon would u like to have a little name to go along w u bc i keep just thinkong of u as tired anon and idk if thats the brand u want /lh /nf
but HIIIII!!!! im so sleepy rn we're gonna get thru this together im like half alive ok ok ok
double justice is just an odd manner of double jeopardy ruled unconstitutional unless you can manuever a case so that you press different charges huh. srry im studying for ap gov rn. and double jeopardy is rly interesting to me. YES but im so glad u like cstommy!!!! hes my guy most specialist guy ever <333
im also glad u like cs!dream-- another thing im working on is not making antagonissts flat and i worry a bit w how ive done cs!schlatt and cs!dream thative failed at that so im always glad to hear what i did good what i can improve etc-- yes the isolation is a big thing w/ cs!dream and a massive thing w abusive relaitnships overall.
thank u and doubly thank u again <33 kind 2 me. im glad u like cs!fundy & yeah i always have weird standards with writing and yk i def pick fave chapters but its always interesting to see ppls thoughts on them
hope ur cat is doing good and yeah admittedly i kind of fucked up how i handled the plot of the pets but i promise at least 1 of them is plot relevant :> also im glad u like the trans rep!! and YES these two are ramblers much love to them <333 csjack WILL be getting more plot involved i have so many plans for him hehee. they are blorbos!!! yes yes
okay gn one of my posts ither got big or ive got a spam liker back in the notifs so im gonna check ont aht write more and sleep gn hope ur well anon

Another day of frigid wind chills and brutal cold across much of the U.S. (AP) Brutally cold temperatures and dangerous wind chills stayed put across much of the U.S. Monday, promising the coldest temperatures ever for Iowa’s presidential nominating contest, holding up travelers, and testing the mettle of NFL fans in Buffalo for a playoff game that was delayed a day by wind-whipped snow. About 150 million Americans were under a wind chill warning or advisory for dangerous cold and wind, said Zack Taylor, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in College Park, Maryland, as an Arctic air mass spilled south and eastward across the U.S. Sunday morning saw temperatures as low as minus 20 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 6.7 degree Celsius) to minus 40 F in northern and northeast Montana. Saco, Montana, dropped to minus 51 F (minus 26 C). Subzero lows reached as far south as Kansas, Missouri, Illinois and parts of Indiana, Taylor said.
Migrant deaths in Rio Grande intensify tensions between Texas, Biden administration over crossings (AP) After Texas fenced off a park along the U.S.-Mexico border and began turning away Border Patrol agents, Republican Gov. Greg Abbott explained why at a campaign stop near Houston. “We are not allowing Border Patrol on that property anymore,” Abbott said Friday, drawing applause from supporters. He relayed frustration over migrants illegally entering the U.S. through the border city of Eagle Pass and federal agents loading them onto buses. “We said, ‘We’ve had it. We’re not going to let this happen anymore,’” Abbott said. Later that night, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security said three migrants, including two children, drowned near the park after Texas officials “physically barred” Border Patrol agents from entering. Mexican authorities pulled the bodies, each of them wearing jackets, from the water on the other side of the Rio Grande.
Guatemala’s New President Is Sworn In, Despite Efforts to Stop Him (NYT) Despite staunch resistance from his opponents in the government, the anticorruption crusader Bernardo Arévalo was inaugurated early Monday morning as Guatemala’s president, a turning point in a country where tensions have been simmering over widespread graft and impunity. His inauguration had been scheduled for Sunday, but members of Congress delayed it, and concerns persisted about whether it would happen at all. But after an international outcry and pressure from protesters, Mr. Arévalo was sworn in shortly after midnight, becoming Guatemala’s most progressive head of state since democracy was re-established in the 1980s. His rise to power—six months after his victory at the polls delivered a stunning rebuke to Guatemala’s conservative political establishment—amounts to a sea change in Central America’s most populous country. His landslide election reflected broad support for his proposals to curb graft and revive a teetering democracy. But as Mr. Arévalo prepares to govern, he must assert control while facing off against an alliance of conservative prosecutors, members of Congress and other political figures who have gutted Guatemala’s governing institutions in recent years.
Columns of tractors gather in Berlin for the climax of a week of protests by farmers (AP) Columns of tractors rolled into Berlin on Monday as farmers gathered for the climax of a week of demonstrations against a plan to scrap tax breaks on the diesel they use, a protest that has tapped into wider discontent with Germany’s government. Over the past week, farmers have blocked highway entrances and slowed down traffic across Germany with their protests, intent on pushing Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s government to abandon the planned cuts entirely. The farmers’ protests come at a time of deep general discontent with the center-left Scholz’s government, which has become notorious for frequent public squabbles and lengthy wrangling over sometimes poorly communicated decisions. Scholz acknowledged concerns that go well beyond farming subsidies, saying that crises, conflicts and worries about the future are unsettling people.
Lava from Icelandic volcano eruption engulfs homes, roads (Washington Post) A volcano that erupted in southwestern Iceland over the weekend sent lava pouring into a nearby fishing town, swallowing up roads and setting at least three houses alight, footage shared by national broadcaster RUV showed. The volcano erupted around 8 a.m. local time Sunday after a series of earthquakes, the country’s meteorological office said. Molten rock from two nearby fissures streamed into the town of Grindavik, the agency said. “Lava is flowing into Grindavik, a thriving town where people have built their lives,” Icelandic President Gudni Thorlacius Johannesson said in an address to the nation Sunday evening, describing “tremendous forces of nature” at play. It was the first time in more than 50 years that lava had flowed over Icelandic homes, he said.
United Nations seeks $4.2 billion to help people in Ukraine and refugees this year (AP) The United Nations appealed on Monday for $4.2 billion to help people in Ukraine and displaced outside the country this year, saying that people on the front lines have “exhausted their meager resources” and many refugees also are vulnerable. About three-quarters of the total, $3.1 billion, is meant to support some 8.5 million people inside Ukraine. The remaining $1.1 billion is sought for refugees and host communities outside Ukraine. A recent wave of attacks “underscores the devastating civilian cost of the war” and a bitter winter is increasing the need for humanitarian aid, the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said in a statement from Geneva.
War or No War, Many Older Ukrainians Want to Stay Put (NYT) They sit in ones and twos in half-destroyed homes. They shelter in musty basements marked in chalk with “people underground”—a message to whichever troops happen to be fighting that day. They venture out to visit cemeteries and reminisce about any time other than now. Ukraine’s elderly are often the only people who remain along the country’s hundreds of miles of front line. Some waited their entire lives to enjoy their twilight years, only to have been left in a purgatory of loneliness. Homes built with their own hands are now crumbling walls and blown-out windows, with framed photographs of loved ones living far away. Some people have already buried their children, and their only wish is to stay close so they can be buried next to them. Almost two years into Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, with war at their doorsteps, older people who have stayed behind offer varying reasons for their decisions. Some simply prefer to be at home, whatever the dangers, rather than to struggle in an unfamiliar place among strangers. Others do not have the financial means to leave and start over.
After attempts to meddle in Taiwan’s elections fail, China takes stock (Washington Post) Taiwanese voters have made it clear—for the third time in a row—that they don’t want a leader who will kowtow to China. The democratic island on Saturday elected as president Lai Ching-te, the current vice president and former independence advocate whom Beijing views as a dangerous “separatist.” Now, Beijing must craft a response. For Beijing, Lai’s victory is a loss that deepens anxiety about its ability to bring Taiwan under its control, a long-held goal of the ruling Communist Party and a key part of Chinese leader Xi Jinping’s legacy. The result gives Taiwan’s ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), which Beijing refuses to engage with, an unprecedented third term. “A Lai win will mean that Xi loses face,” said Chen Fang-Yu, assistant professor of political science at Soochow University in Taipei. “It means his Taiwan policy has failed. So now he must do something to show his muscle.” China’s initial response to Lai’s victory was predictable: Officials issued the usual strongly worded statements on Sunday, and Beijing’s embassies in countries that congratulated Lai condemned them for “interfering in China’s internal affairs.”
Australia celebrates Australian-born queen of Denmark (AP) A day after an Australian became queen of Denmark. her native land on Monday celebrated the unlikely fairy tale with cocktails, picnics and a “Danish Fiesta.” Mary Donaldson’s journey from Tasmania to the world’s first Australian-born queen has captivated both Danes and Australians. People gathered to mark the occasion across Australia, including Queen Mary’s hometown of Hobart, the capital of the southern island state of Tasmania. “It’s not something that happens every day that you have an Australian becoming queen. I don’t know if it will ever happen again,” Danish Club Vice President Lykka Borup told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Mary’s husband, Crown Prince Frederik, was proclaimed king of the European nation on Sunday, two weeks after his 83-year-old mother, Queen Margrethe II, announced she would be the first Danish royal to abdicate in about 900 years.
Grief and vengeance: 100 days of war in Israel, Gaza and the West Bank (Washington Post) It’s been three months since Hamas fighters attacked Israel, killing 1,200 people and taking about 240 hostage. In response, the Israeli military unleashed a level of force unprecedented in Gaza, killing more than 23,900 people. In the occupied West Bank, Israeli settlers have stepped up attacks on rural Palestinian communities, accelerating Arab displacement as the war and large-scale arrests fan a new generation of Palestinian militancy in the cities. Israel today is a nation heavy with shock, looking for answers and often also for vengeance. The streets are slowly coming back to life, but they feel anything but normal. Young reservists must take their weapons as they go about their business. The faces of the Israeli hostages are reproduced in shop windows and on government buildings alongside three words that are now a rallying cry: “Bring them home.” Newsstands and television screens show over and over the scenes of Hamas’s crimes. They show the Israeli army in Gaza. But they rarely show what is happening to civilians. Palestinians there are frantic and bone-tired. The pace of death is so fast, the possibility of famine so close, that residents say they have little time to mourn or to process their losses. Fear—how to survive the night, how to find a little food—is a more pressing constant. With more than two-thirds of homes now destroyed, much of Gaza is effectively gone.
Houthi rebels strike a U.S.-owned ship off the coast of Yemen (AP) Houthi rebels fired a missile, striking a U.S.-owned ship Monday just off the coast of Yemen in the Gulf of Aden, less than a day after they launched an anti-ship cruise missile toward an American destroyer in the Red Sea. The attack on the Gibraltar Eagle, later claimed by the Houthis, further escalates tensions gripping the Red Sea after American-led strikes on the rebels. The Houthis’ attacks have roiled global shipping, amid Israel’s war with Hamas in the Gaza Strip, targeting a crucial corridor linking Asian and Mideast energy and cargo shipments to the Suez Canal onward to Europe. “The ship has reported no injuries or significant damage and is continuing its journey,” the U.S. Central Command said.
Cyclone causes heavy flooding, 1 death in Mauritius after also battering French island of Reunion (AP) A tropical cyclone caused heavy flooding and at least one death in Mauritius on Monday as cars were washed away by surges of water in the Indian Ocean island’s capital city and elsewhere. A motorcyclist died in an accident caused by the flooding, the government said and imposed a curfew. The government issued an order that everyone except emergency and health workers, members of the security services and those requiring medical treatment must return home and remain there. Some people were also being evacuated as the floodwaters caused by Tropical Cyclone Belal threatened houses and other buildings. Schools were closed and hospitals were told to only keep their emergency departments open.

What I think aot 104th cadets fave class would be out of the 7 classes aot vets teach
The classes aot vets teach: English/ AP Gov. (Erwin), History (Levi), Biology (Hange), Math (Miche), Law (Pixis), Statistics (Hannes), Finance (Nile)
(Eren, Mikasa, Armin, Connie, Sasha, Jean, Historia, Yumir, Reiner, Bertolt, Annie, Marco, Floch, Marlo, Hitch, Boris) (source was attackontitan.fandom.com so sorry if it's wrong)
Eren: History. He doesn't seem like it, but Eren is really interested in history and enjoys learning about what people in the past did and how people survived and lived back then. Always denies help from teachers isn't doing the best in that class. Prob has a C or C+ but he has fun learning so he doesn't care that much about his grade. He's kind of a teacher's pet and is the kind of person to tell on someone when they have their phone out or when he catches someone cheating he goes right to Mr. Ackerman. He will raise his hand during independent work time if he sees someone on their phone when they're not supposed to be and when the teacher comes over to help him, Eren will take no time to quietly say, "Mr. Ackerman they're on their phone" in a volume where only the person he's talking to can hear.
Mikasa: English. She doesn't care too much about reading part, but she probably really likes to write. I can see her as someone who has a journal on her at all times and journals throughout the day. Her favorite books you read in an English class are To Kill A Mocking Bird, Jane Eyre, and The Outsiders. I feel like she'd write poetry and have a poetry journal. She sits in the library after school and studies while listening to The Cure. She's the type to never answer questions in class and not raise her hand, but she has an A in that class and has gotten really close to the teacher. One time Erwin asked her to stay after class, and she expected Mr. Smith to criticize her on something, but he actually wanted to tell her how amazing she is at writing and how beautiful her poetry is.
Armin: Biology. Hanges biology class also has a marine biology class that's only offered 2nd period, and you already know the second Armin saw that he took it in a heartbeat. He's not the biggest fan of Hange as a teacher since there are some explosions that happen for some reason, but he really likes their teacher's assistant Moblit, who Armin always talks to after class and sometimes during lunch about marine biology. He's the kind of person to raise his hand for every question, and during class, he has this look in his eyes that really lets you see how much he loves the ocean and ocean life. His grade is an A+ and a 103.7% in that class since he does every possible extra credit assignment, and he even writes essays on marine biology when he sees that he has every assignment turned in. After school, you can always find him in either his marine biology class or the library.
Connie: Finance. He HATES Nile as a teacher but likes learning about money and the idea of making a lot of it. He's a total class clown and gets detention at least twice a month. Not only that, but he also always talks about how he's gonna 'make the most money and become the richest man in the world with a lot of super hot babes all over him' (he got detention one when he said that cause Nile thought it was "too inappropriate"). He's always asking Nile for any snacks he has, and even learned what his music taste was so he could talk to him about it and possible get a better grade. Connie passes almost every pop quiz, but only because he copies off of Jean. He probably has a 73% in Nile's class, but talks about how 'it's gonna be worth it when his rich and living in a mansion.'
Sasha: Law. She doesn't really understand what goes on in class, but she really likes Pixis as a teacher. She's always asking him if he has any parking ticket stories or any speeding ticket stories, and laughs at every one jokes and stories. It's the only she really pays attention in and is getting a good grade in. She doses off in class but lucky for her Pixis takes notes with everyone and always has a copy of the notes so he gives Sasha the notes. Her councilor is really surprised when they see her grade cause she has a B+ on the verge of an A in that class.
Jean: Statistics. He's not a huge fan of math, but he has a B+ in that class, since Hannes makes it super easy. The drawings that cover Hannes chalk board? Jean did 90% of those, and Hannes thinks it's really cool. Jean also like how Hannes has juice in his mini fridge because he tends to forget to drink anything during school, so the drinks are always really refreshing. He also likes learning about data and how he can use it in the real world. The only reason he doesn't like that class is because Eren goes into his class before lunch since his shitty teacher lets him, Armin, and Mikasa out early. But he does enjoy seeing Mikasa.
Historia: Math. Not the biggest math fan, but ADORES the teacher. She likes how Miche sees everyone as an individual person and not just as a big group of basic people. She has an A+ in his class, and when appreciates it when he offers her after school help when she doesn't get the grade she wants. She also likes how he doesn't get bothered when she sprays her Freshe Body Spray with essential oils in the flavor Cashmere Vanilla. He's also her go-to teacher to get advice from when she has relationship problems.
Yumir: Biology. She likes the experiments they do in that class and finds it funny when something goes wrong. She also always gets something out of the snack drawer or something to drink, whether its hot chocolate or coffee. She doesn't like the subject that much, but she just hates school in general. It doesn't matter how fun the class is, she won't like it that much. Doesn't have the best grade but has a D+ and Hanges grading scale is weird, and they always give really easy extra credit, so Yumir actually has a C+ which still isn't the best but at least she isn't failing.
Reiner: Finance. He's not doing amazing in that class at all. (D-) He likes the teacher though. Even though Nile's strict, Reiner finds him funny and kinda chill in a way no one understands. He's also always joking with the Nile, so people think he's passing, but he's not. Overworks himself a lot and since Nile's the kinda teacher where when he sees a finished paper he tells the student 'good job' even if he hasn't even read it yet. Reiner likes the validation. Also, Reiner feels like he can talk to Nile about anything and not have to worry about getting reported to the school counselor, therapist, or psychiatrist (what ever your school has).
Bertolt: History. IDK I just feel like he enjoys learning about history. He has a B- but he thinks it's an ok grade so he doesn't worry about it. Keeps to himself, and whenever you look at him, you can tell he's paying attention. Annie's in his class, and he takes quick glances over at her. He's always shifting around in his chair since the desk doesn't fit his legs very well, but he deals with it. Always writing notes, and I feel like he has a different colored pen for each topic they learn about. Finds the Roman Empire the most interesting thing to learn about and asks Levi for suggestions on history books that might be interesting.
Annie: Math. She doesn't like the subject but enjoys how laid back Miche is when it comes to teaching. She also likes how Miche doesn't really socialize with her as much as everyone else, since he knows she can be really introverted and doesn't enjoy socializing. She likes how easy he makes math seem and secretly really likes the little compliments he writes on the papers cause it makes her feel seen. She has an A-
Marco: AP Government. Marco's interested in how the government works and how much power they have. He's very outspoken about his opinion and believes in freedom, which Erwin appreciates. Marco's the type to ask for extra work, since he finished his work already. He also does Wordle's when he's done with his work and sees that he's no missing assignments. Not only does he play Wordle, he also plays every version of Wordle. He has an A+
Hitch: Statistics. DESPISES MATH, but really likes the teacher and sees him as a friend. She can be a bitch in class but likes that Hannes doesn't overreact about anything, and she likes how he gives everyone access to juice and snacks. Always tells Hannes the gossip, even though he doesn't care. She also likes how he doesn't mark anyone as tarty and lets her bring her McDonald's into class and eat it. She has a C+
Floch: Finance. Honestly, he just likes to brag about how he's taking finance, which means he's smarter than everyone else even though he has a D-. He's also the kind of person to say "oh yeah my teacher loves me. I'm like his favorite student" but always gets into arguments with the teacher about stupid shit.
Marlo: Law. He wants to bring justice to the world and help people. He also believes that he can change lives and is frustrated that Pixis doesn't grade below a C- because Marlo believes that it's not fair. Also, he thinks that it's unprofessional that Pixis uses his own charges because it's again unprofessional. One time he got upset over Pixis having movie days on the last half of class on Thursdays and all class on Fridays, and again thinks it's unprofessional. He thinks he always deserves a B or above and talks to the teacher if he has anything lower than that. He has a B on the verge of a B-
Boris: Law. He likes how its an easy class and thinks the teacher is cool. Also is liked by Pixis so he has a better grade and does really well in class even though he doesnt pay attention much. He has an A- and Marlo's confused, upset, and dare I say a little insulted that Boris has an entire letter grade more than him.

day 1:
It's around 10 pm and I made this blog TO procrastinate studying for a bunch of tests I have later this week.... but here we go! I'm hoping writing things out like this will help me calm down a bit and get a little more organized.
Bear with me while I figure out how I want these posts to be formatted - not sure what's gonna work yet.
To-do: Today i still have to finish the official review for my upcoming trig test. I'm actually feeling pretty good about it based on the fact I got As on both quizzes for the unit, but there's so much to memorize I'm a little intimidated. I have to finish some of my missing work for AP bio, as that test is also too close for comfort. I've been sick a lot this unit, so I'm worried I won't even get through the material I need to know, much less have a good enough understanding of it to expand on anything. Done: a) submitted a TON of missing work for french (back to an a in that class FINALLY) b) submitted my USD application c) finished 3/4 of the UC PIQs d) finished my philosophy oral prep
Upcoming: a) AP bio test in 2 days b) AP gov test in 2 days (dw i got it [lying]) c) trig test in 3 days d) philosophy assessment tomorrow
I swear this does not represent the majority of my weeks - it's the result of the upcoming thanksgiving break + me being sick so often this sem 😭 I'm not willing to spend a bunch more time on this post bc I have a lot to do still so ig this is it for now! I'm thinking I'll post right when I get home tomorrow so I can make a plan. See you then :)
