How to magically learn to make your own clothes :(((

I really want to do a cosplay of Arya wearing her acorn dress but I couldn’t find any “medieval dress with acorn embroidery” costume on my Google search results. And doesn’t it cost a lot of money to get clothes made for you Personally???

4. Bran’s direwolf gorget. it’s just gorgeous, his longer hair looks adorable with it, it’s basically the only cool thing they ever let my son wear

3. Arya’s Ned Stark Cosplay. I love everything about the dress, texture, cut, color, it’s perfect, i love her fancy, baller ass furs that match it, but above all i love the shoulders on the leather doublet, the silhouette brings the whole look together, I want it on my body now.

2. Rhaenyra’s post-birth dress. I think the arryn inspired colors look amazing together, the fabric on the sleeves, the pattern on the top, the whole cut is just really amazing. i want it so bad, it’s so pretty (it also doesn’t clash with her hair, which is amazing considering some of the other choices they’ve made with targ hair lol)

1. Sansa’s purple flower dressing gown. It is my dream to own a replica of this dress. the colors, the sleeves, the front part, the pattern, i want to marry this dress. i want to be buried in this dress. i want to be rich so i can buy the replica on etsy for this dress but i cannot justify dropping like $600 on a single item of clothing even though i would wear it all day every day.

In a way Cersei end up being Sansa's Rhaegar. A blonde queen who manipulates the young Stark girl. She ends up trapping Sansa in KL by deceiving her trust.

"Once she had loved Prince Joffrey with all her heart, and admired and trusted his mother, the queen. They had repaid that love and trust with her father's head."

Sansa is contrasted with Lyanna in that she wants the betrothal her father arranged, enough to defy him to see it through; however, the fear of Robert, not trusting him, being the drive for her to seek help from the person who promptly betrays her trust and takes her captive definitely seems like a Sansa and Lyanna parallel!

"It was for love," Sansa said in a rush. "Father wouldn't even give me leave to say farewell." She was the good girl, the obedient girl, but she had felt as wicked as Arya that morning, sneaking away from Septa Mordane, defying her lord father. She had never done anything so willful before, and she would never have done it then if she hadn't loved Joffrey as much as she did. "He was going to take me back to Winterfell and marry me to some hedge knight, even though it was Joff I wanted. I told him, but he wouldn't listen." The king had been her last hope. The king could command Father to let her stay in King's Landing and marry Prince Joffrey, Sansa knew he could, but the king had always frightened her. He was loud and rough-voiced and drunk as often as not, and he would probably have just sent her back to Lord Eddard, if they even let her see him. So she went to the queen instead, and poured out her heart, and Cersei had listened and thanked her sweetly … only then Ser Arys had escorted her to the high room in Maegor's Holdfast and posted guards, and a few hours later, the fighting had begun outside. Their fathers wouldn't listen to their feelings regarding their betrothals, Robert is something of a villain in both their stories, to escape the fate their fathers' have fixed for them they reach out to someone who has earned their trust only for that to result in becoming trapped far away from home, and then the death of their father and the Stark heir, and of course, war. Lots of ways their stories talk to each other!

Cersei does the Rhaegar cosplay, so even though it's Joffrey who seems like the obvious comparison, we can certainly tie her in there. Fascinating. Great catch, @please-dot!

#FallforCostume Day 9: Details

It's probably obvious, but I am an absolute detail nerd! Crafting and stitching fine details is one of my favorite things in costuming and I love embellishing my cosplays. I get really excited about details and will gush over them on other cosplayer's projects and on film/tv and theater costumes 🤩

Game of Thrones costumes were made and worn by my brother and I, all other projects made by me.

Finally got out to take Arya pics, was planning to make obligatory winter is coming joke, but looks like winter is already here.

Well after two and a half years I finally finished my Arya Stark cosplay.
Definitely the most challenging one so far, in terms of the range of skills needed to complete this. 
Everything in this cosplay was made by me, with the exception of the pants, boots, undershirt, and gloves. 
The cloak is fabric that I wove myself and lined with fur. 
The “gambeson” (or jacket, I know it’s way to short to be a proper gambeson) was an altered pattern, with the pieces cut out of a thrifted leather jacket, which were then quilted and sewn together and lined. 
Between the cloak and the jacket I set a total of 70 grommets. 
The fabric for the skirt I had custom printed with a design that I created to mimic the fabric in the show, and then those pieces were also quilted and sewn together.
The belt is leather that I tooled, dyed, and assembled myself.
The catspaw dagger and needle I made out of eva foam, and their sheaths from vinyl.
May eventually do some more thorough write ups on the whole process, but for now I’m just going to enjoy the fact that it’s finally finished 😊
