#becoming the person you idolised as a child
It’s so weird to meet people as an adult who you would have idolised as a child or even when you were like 12-13 and the person I am today is somebody my child self would look at and think “wow they’re cool” maybe a bit scary but still, child me would idolise me rn and how far I’ve come and all the people I surround myself with.
Is this what it means to heal your inner child?

Big Adventures Thoughts
So, my fics were pretty short tonight because I was stuck on a coach for six hours and couldn't write much but I do have some random Big Adventures thoughts that may or may not make it into fics at some point but I'm just going to share them all with you now 😊
I've mentioned it very briefly in an ask before but when Princesse was very young she spoke Swedish with a slight Danish accent and Magda hated it. It faded after she started living with Magda but it's always funny to Pernille whenever anyone brings it up
It's not been used a lot but moster Frido is a big part of Princesse's life. This is coming in a fic soon but after the doctors and Magda and Pernille, she's actually the next person to hold Princesse and she's the one that brings her girl-swan and girl-moose when she's a baby. Princesse adores her in the way all young girls idolise their older, female relatives and Frido's definitely the one she turns to when she's older and doesn't want to talk to her mums about certain things
Magda feels a bit inadequate sometimes (particularly early on) when she finds out just how easy Pernille and Princesse work together on things and it's a pretty steep learning curve for her but she adapts pretty quickly
Every shirt Princesse gets when she's younger, she wears to bed the night she gets it. Some shirts (like Leah's) she hoards for weeks before letting them get washed and framed if she thinks they're special enough
Princesse is deathly allergic to kiwi, banana and avocado but only slightly allergic to latex
Sometimes on the bus to away games, Princesse curls up on Jessie's lap and naps with her. Pernille has a whole photo album of pictures of Jessie and Princesse napping
The gloves that Zećira gives Princesse after the match against the USA, Princesse keeps. It becomes a bit of a superstition but before every match, she puts them on and then takes them off to put on her own gloves because she wants Zećira's good luck from that game to rub off on her
Princesse is absolutely a prodigy at keeping. Magda and Pernille debate sometimes whether there must be some kind of keeper dna in the donor they chose (because it certainly didn't come from Magda's) or whether or not it was the near hero worship Princesse has for Zećira that made her want to prove herself
Princesse's schooling ends up being a bit all over the place. She only starts school when they all move back to Germany and she only really goes in a few times a week because Magda and Pernille's schedules can be erratic sometimes and it's a bit easier to home-school her (and because of the slight separation anxiety Magda develops but will forever deny). When Magda and Pernille retire and they end up in Sweden, Princesse's time is taken up by academy training and then when she hits fifteen, professional training so she ends up taking online school
I think I've mentioned this as well but Princesse never lets in a penalty her entire career and it makes other players all the more nervous during penalty shootouts at major tournaments because she continually blocks them. It becomes kind of a thing that commentators at matches talk about in the 'is this the day someone finally scores a penalty against her' kind of way
Like Magda did, Princesse gives away her World Cup medals but this time to Magda and Pernille rather than a child of her own
Almost all of Princesse's World Cup jerseys get given away to players from her childhood (if and when she defeats their teams) while the others go to Magda and Pernille
For club football, Princesse has her first name on her back but for every international match, it's her last name
Princesse feels awkward getting praise sometimes from people that aren't her mothers which is something that carries into adulthood so, at award shows and such things, she always brings them with her because it makes her feel less awkward
Speaking of award shows, Princesse is presented with awards by both Mary Earps when she grows up along with Alexia and Aitana

Omg yes!! I saw a poll on what would be a better Hollywood movie rosquez or brocedes
And I was like hands down brocedes, because that's Monaco & Ibiza, a neat little story of growing up, growing apart, giving up on shared dreams. All the glitz and glamour. The way Nico keeps saying nice things and Lewis keeping his silence. A bit of modicum.
Rosquez however could never be Hollywood, they are unhinged, they are gritty, down & dirty, blunt fingernails scrambling to hold on in dark alleyways, it's being on top of the world and seeing your end approaching you wrapped up in smooth golden muscle and a mouth that never ends, it's touching legends, getting on that pedestal and then being isolated on there by the very hands that welcomed you in, it's European art film that is full of shadows and long silences, things never said and hands reaching out too late, it's his voice whispering everytime you fall, it's seeing him in every rider, knowing he would be crazier, faster, fiercer.
Brocedes could have survived if they were less ambitious/less greedy/less driven than they were, Rosquez never had an option because the things that drew them together are the things that they despise about each other.
OP YOUR VISION!
You've described rosquez so perfectly. They're like ruined somehow. Like Marc has his claws in Valentino and Valentino has his claws in Marc and yh they've let go but their bodies, brains HEARTS are still bloody and bruised. Lewis and Nico are healing but will Marc and Valentino ever heal? Idk Valentino says it'll take him 30 years to get over this and Marc says reconciliation is not upto him. So will they be tainted with marks of each other for 30 years? Does everything become more sullied when you remember that Marc had hung posters of Valentino on his bedroom wall and was buying replica bikes until 2015? Is it more cruel that Valentino knew all of this and not only did he do what he did to Marc when he was 22, he denied Marc a concrete part of his personality by saying he doesn't belive Marc had those posters (it's been documented you senile old man!). He basically said I don't know you, I never knew you. Is this all way more horrid when you consider that Marc thought getting into motogp with his idol would mean that Valentino actually KNEW him and they could be friends and then Valentino throws it right back into his face 'I want to see those posters' (I've never known you, I've never looked at those pictures of young you with my motorbikes, I've never paid attention, whilst you devoted your whole life to my life, your life was simply a speck in the grand scheme of events that is my life). Obviously its not true, it's a way to hurt Marc (we all know Valentino actually LIKED marc). But doesn't that make it all the more cruel, you treated someone you actually had affection for like this. Also is it more hurtful when you remember that Valentino told Marc ill protect you from these people if they're mean to you just let me know (not verbatim) but you're the meanie Valentino so now who does Marc go to. The people you turned against him?
Brocedes is way more tame bcs there was no idolisation, sure there was friendship, affection and childlike hope, but never once did Nico and Lewis decide that they didn't have what they had. Nico doesn't denounce the time they sat in hotel rooms and ate frosties, Lewis doesn't hide the fact that karting with Nico provided him joy as a child. Lewis can say Nico isn't his friend, but he hasn't ever said 'I've never known Nico' even when Nico acts a fool whilst commentating on races just to get his attention Lewis wouldn't be so cruel to deny ever having a relationship with Nico. Nico and Lewis are connected in a more concrete and wholesome way (Lewis gives Nico's daughters gifts). Marc and Valentino are connected in a more brutal way (they still have the bruises, the bleeding wounds of whatever they had with one another, friendship, affection companionship idk). That's the only similarity, they are still connected, their legacies are interspersed with one another. Something about how Lewis was there for nicos first and last podium. Something about how everywhere Marc goes, he is haunted by how Valentino has painted him to other people. Even in the one similarity between brocedes and rosquez you can see the abject dirtiness of rosqiez and the wholesomeness of brocedes.

꒰ Connecting with your inner child ꒱
Mentally, you were not doing very well as a child. You were raised in a way where your family or caregivers made you feel like it was alright for you to be mistreated. Due to how you were treated at home, people treating you unfairly in other environments, such as, school, etc. felt very normal to you, ofcourse, it hurt you but you knew that your family would not have your back so you had to stay quiet about it. You chose to live in a lie, you were in denial of your parent or whoever raised you being a bad person. You idolised them throughout your childhood and let them get away with everything. They didn't even apologise when they hurt you, they didn't take accountability for their actions, they made you feel like everything was your fault. When you made a mistake, even if it was a tiny one, you were heavily criticised. For most of you, you were even called names, names that no one should call anyone and especially not their children. You were extremely critical of yourself, this is heartbreaking. You likely grew up in an environment where, people were hypocritical, for example, your parents are both alcoholics who curse a lot and are abusive (this is a similar situation to most of you) but they expected you to be nice, gentle and you were not allowed to make mistakes. I'm crying, I cannot deal with how heavy this energy is. Your childhood was so lonely but you chose to blind yourself to that by idealising it.
Your family members might have used you to lie to others, lied on your name, etc. and you were a child, twisted the story whenever you tried to stand up for yourself, etc. Some of you had a single parent, divorced parents or just problematic parents which caused you to be exposed to alcohol, sex, jails, etc. quite early on in life. Physically, you were a good kid. You wanted to get good grades, have a good reputation and you worked hard on it. However, it was not a natural wish, it was forced upon you so that you could gain your parents approval. You were not loved even when you achieved things but you kept on pushing. Your parents might have told you things like "you need to work hard so that you can clear ___ exams and then become a successful government servant/doctor,etc." and you heard it so much that you naturally thought that your parents would only love you after you achieved that milestone. You enjoyed it because that was the only way you could possibly have hope for the future. You were so young but you still tried to have routines, etc. Honestly, you were the parent here. You were working hard so that you can provide for them in the future and you were just 9 years of age at that time. You were considered to be a gifted kid or a trophy kid and you enjoyed that validation because you were denied of basic emotional nourishment, validation and affection that a kid should receive.
No one could've guessed that you were struggling because not even you were aware, you seemed to be doing really well physically, achieving your goals and looked happy while doing so but you felt empty on the inside. You were critical of yourself, including your appearance and picked out every flaw of your body. Emotionally, you had issues at school too. Even though, on the surface you seemed very confident, that confidence was solely reliant on the validation that you would receive for accomplishing something. Your parents seem to have been very serious about your future, they probably enrolled you into a good school where kids with rich parents also used to go and you felt really inferior to them. You became emotionally reactive and immature as the years progressed because you were just a kid who didn't have their needs met. No matter how hard you worked, you felt like you were an underachiever. This makes me sad, I'm getting the vision of a kindergarten student receiving silent treatment from all the other students around them and then going home, studying, probably taking care of a younger sibling and having the mother come home and beat the child over a small disagreement at dinner. You deserved better, you really did. You deserve all the love in the world. Please take good care of yourself. Physical or emotional abuse and neglect seem to be a theme here.
꒰ How did your inner child imagine your teenage and young adult self to be like ? ꒱
'You can be anything' is the slogan of Barbie and as a kid, there are so many possibilities, we're more imaginative than ever. We imagine what our teenage and early adult days will look like. We'll look at who they (your inner child) wanted to be, how they envisioned your teenage and young adult self and days to look like.
Your inner child expected you to have romantic experiences. They imagined that you'd have a crush on someone and receive proposals. They imagined you as someone who had beauty and style on their mind, almost 24/7. They imagined you wanting to buy make-up products, clothes, bags, etc. and actually receiving them. They imagined you as someone who could do something artistic like play instruments, dance or draw. They imagined you as someone who is caring and has a gentle attitude. They imagined love letters, friends and just a lot of emotional involvement. They imagined you being able to physically cry to a friend or a lover who will actually listen to you. They imagined you feeling content in life and gaining a lot of wisdom. They imagined you being able to let go of anything that has ever hurt you. They imagined you living a life full of hope. They imagined you feeling loved, happy, going to bed after having a good time with friends or partner and tired after such a fun day and wanting to wake up every morning. They imagined you having a lot of passionate experiences and knowing how to let go of anything that makes you feel stuck. They imagined you to look to your past and life lessons to help you gain clarity. They imagined you as someone extremely successful too. "I'll have my life figured out by the age of 18." They imagined you as being composed, forgiving and decisive. They imagined you kind of making a change or something. Maybe, just being a good influence and having a good character. They imagined you having a lot of experiences and learning from them. Knowing how to live life. They imagined you being able to release past guilt and grief, they imagined you having a healing group environment. They imagined a 'happy ever after'.
꒰ What kind of a Barbie have you become ? ꒱
The kind of Barbie that you've become is kind of reckless. You've become kind of impatient too. You've become very cautious of things and end up projecting a foolish or immature image in order to be underestimated so that people don't try to get between you and your goals. You are kind of a thrill chaser as a Barbie but it's because now, you understand that you are more than just the expectations placed upon you. You've become a Barbie who can sometimes be overly optimistic. Your Barbie's name would likely be something like 'create your own identity Barbie' or 'self love/respect Barbie'. However, you're also a Barbie who's accepting themself or has already accepted themself. I think you're going through some sort of a reality check just like Barbie did or you've already undergone it. You've become the cycle breaker Barbie of your family. You're an independent Barbie. You're a Barbie who's focused on shadow work and healing. You've grown to be extremely courageous and are little by little, letting go of the limiting beliefs placed upon you. You're a Barbie who breaks past the identity that others had made for you to fit into. You have a focused mind and have self respect. You are a self controlled individual and try to be as accountable as humanly possible. You're a truly lovely Barbie.

꒰ Connecting with your inner child ꒱
I think for most of you, a male figure really affected your mindset as a child especially. You used to think about this man a lot, maybe it's your father or grandfather. They taught you a lot about power and social status. They might have told you things like "be friends with this kind of people, don't be friends with this kind of people." This man was definitely very ambitious though. However, your mental well-being as a child seems pretty good. Situations at home seemed to be under control, nothing for you to worry about. You really respected this man though. They made you feel safe and protected. They taught you a lot about discipline. Mentally, you were able to grow and flourish because of the environment. You were pretty logical, even as a child. You set out goals for yourself that you wanted to achieve, even if it was something as simple as "I want to be able to take a bath by myself." You learnt how to be firm and decisive. Either, you were a single child or just not willing to share your things, food, snacks, toys, etc. Did you come from a wealthy family? You might have been kind of a show off as a kid, no shame ofcourse, you were a literal child. You were physically and materially taken care of though. You knew how to flatter your parents in order to get what you want and often, you did not even have to flatter them, they just wanted to give everything you wanted. However, sometimes you had to do things by yourself or you actually wanted to? You wanted to be self reliant or were forced to be.
Your parents might have been really busy or even away from home, your needs were taken care of but there were times when you felt lonely. However, because of the support of your parents, you dealt with it pretty well. For the rest of you, you might have had major issues emotionally, I heard 'seperation anxiety'. Maybe, because you were a rich kid who used to show off your wealth, others used to leave you out or tell you hurtful things and you'd be really sad about it. Some of you likely struggled with insomnia quite early on in life. You might've witnessed a death or a loss of a loved one quite early on too, before that you might've been really happy but temporarily, you were really hurt and sad. Oh, also a financial downfall might've occured. There were also some family feuds, I think it could be over inheritance or money. You felt quite bored though, like you had money but it failed to entertain you. Maybe, whoever this male figure was, had to move away and you were left feeling really anxious. You could've been quite cold and for most of you nepotism or connections did help you. As, you were a child, your decisions were definitely influenced by others. You might've been mean to others too. Emotionally, you started being more comfortable as you continued growing. You felt quite excited about life and started being more optimistic. You were inspired by the people you watched to become successful and happy. You were excited about possibilities and were passionate about almost everything.

We'll look at who they (your inner child) wanted to be, how they envisioned your teenage and young adult self and days to look like.
They imagined you starting over. They imagined you confessing all the bad things you've done and being able to move on. Did you watch a lot of shows like 'mean girls'? They imagined you being kind of two faced. They imagined you facing a lot of betrayals. They imagined you not being able to trust people easily and letting people into your life only if they deserve it. They imagined you watching what you'd say to others, it's because you've been taught to care about reputation. They imagined you hearing rumours and gossip about yourself and going "and I was like, why are you so obsessed with me?" They imagined you taking responsibility for your own actions and apologising to those who you've wronged. They imagined you having your life together, and being able to take care of yourself and responsibility over your finances. They imagined you treating everyone equally and with respect. They imagined you sharing your wealth with others (charity, etc.) They imagined you being grateful for what you have. They imagined you having others try to help you financially too. They imagined you as someone generous and compassionate. They imagined you being at peace with yourself and being able to reciprocate others' love and affection. They imagined you being really kind and taking care of others out of goodwill. They imagined your life being extremely dramatic. They imagined people being exposed and you having to remove them. They also imagined you making assertive decisions and being able to see things clear. They imagined you being open-minded and taking time out to sort out your feelings and confusion. They imagined you knowing and setting your boundaries. They imagined you being able to be really calm about decision making. They imagined you having a purpose, a direction in life and going after that. They imagined having to let go of a lot of emotional ties and you being calm despite all of it.
꒰ What kind of a Barbie have you become ? ꒱
Mentally, you have a lot of thoughts racing which cause you to lack balance. Your thoughts don't seem to be organised. You tend to be overwhelmed quite quickly and are prone to impulsive behaviour. Your time management skills seem to be lacking too. Maybe, you're burnt out and really need a time out. You seem to be quite abundant financially or will be. You're quite confident and boastful too. You know how to value yourself and take good care of yourself, physically. You are grateful for everything that you've achieved so far. You seem to be quite content and satisfied, especially financially or achievement wise. You seem to have success in all areas and might be quite popular among others. Your wishes seem to be fulfilled and even emotionally, you're quite happy. You are an entertaining person and have entertaining people around you. Whenever, you're feeling sad, you always find something or someone to be grateful for, to be happy about. Emotionally, you've grown to be accepting of loss and change. You might be adjusting to a different way of living life. You have a lot of hope for a fresh start and are healing as a person. You've let go of the past and don't let it affect your present, any longer. You're resilient, and know how to overcome your problems and rise to the top. You know how to learn from the past, even though you might've struggled with complete ruin at some point. I wonder what your Barbie would be named 'learnt her lessons Barbie' or something along those lines.

꒰ Connecting with your inner child ꒱
Mentally, you were suffering. You might've been a child who worried a lot. You felt lost and might have even had anxiety that might've not been diagnosed. You felt like none of your wishes came true and used to have moments when you used to lose hope. "I used to pray everyday but my life just kept on getting worser." You were a child so ofcourse you didn't know yourself but the loss of purpose that you felt made you feel miserable. There were events and occurrences that led you to feel insecure about yourself. People used to have unrealistic expectations of you and when you failed to match up to them, you felt awful, they made you feel like it was your fault. You might've spent your childhood in a very monotonous manner, go to school, come home, study during holidays and go back to school again. At that time, the only thing that kept you going was the blind faith that things would eventually be alright. Some of you used to have suicidal thoughts, some of you used to wish that you never woke up. You are really courageous. You might've had to travel sometimes but it was still kind of monotonous
You were just going to the same place again and again, every vacation, just rotting in a house at that place. You were very restless physically, while some of you took up sports or something like that, some of you used to just walk around a lot, could not sit in one place for a long time. This is actually truly depressing, you used to wait for things that you never received, the help that you never received. Emotionally, you repressed a lot of trauma. You used to be really guarded as a child, so, I'm not getting what exactly happened. You used to be very forgiving though. Any expression of pain and anger caused you to undergo even more pain and sadness so you naturally started suppressing all of it. You kind of stayed stuck to those heartbreaks and suffering, you've just internalised and kind of saved all of it. It's like, you saved something to a private file but forgot the password and it turned out to have a deadly virus. You've always let go and forgiven but it took a toll on you mentally and emotionally especially since, it resurfaces as you continue growing. I think inner child healing is extremely essential for you.

BLAIR WALDORF !! They imagined you as being kind of selfish. "You need to be cold to be queen, forget boys, keep your eyes on the prize, Jenny Humphrey. You cannot make people love you but you can make them fear you." They imagined you partying and stuff. They imagined you as someone who respects themself. You might've sometimes fantasized about hitting people who tried to mess with you on the nose. They imagined you as someone quite courageous, someone who runs after their goals. They imagined you accomplishing things after things. They imagined you having a dramatic life though, heartbreaks, mental illnesses, etc. They imagined you undergoing life changing events and gaining morals. They imagined you as someone really loving and compassionate too, when needed. They imagined you having a lot of inner strength and being able to overcome self doubt. They imagined you as someone with a strong sense of responsibility. Even as a kid, you were aware of the demons inside, you imagined being able to tame them through your experiences in life. They imagined you always winning. They imagined you receiving romantic proposals. Being invited to lunch, parties, etc. They imagined you following your heart and being really chivalrous. They imagined you being quite sensitive emotionally and also graceful in everything you do. They imagined you being swept off your feet and having a lot of warmth in your life. They imagined you meeting people who you're attracted to, etc. They imagined you having an active imagination, and using your charms and emotions in order to attract partners. Maybe, your inner child is in love with the idea of love. They imagined surprising and exciting events occurring in your life. They imagined you exploring your passions. They imagined you having a good nature and falling in love with people with a good character.
꒰ What kind of a Barbie have you become ? ꒱
'Never gives up Barbie' that's what most of you have become. You guys have a poor work ethic and no motivation or discipline. You should try to set out goals for yourself. You also struggle with teamwork and might be going through a rough patch currently. I'm getting loneliness and misalignment here. You want to grow but do not have the commitment to. You have been left out quite a lot and might be used by others. I think that this is not your true essence, you're just going through a really rough patch and have been in this energy for so long that, you aren't sure about who you are. Some of you are very young so naturally have not started working on yourself, yet and most of you come from a place where most people never tap into their full potential. You come from a place where if you are trying to get better people get offended, like, "who do you think you are?" You kind of let others take advantage of you. Shining bright means receiving hate and hate scares you. If not, atleast, you tend to be overwhelmed by other people's opinions. You seem to have a history of having gotten ganged up against and it's so scary to you. People who see your potential and see you rising, try to intimidate you. I think you are working on building stronger boundaries though, at this point. You might've or still struggle with people pleasing tendencies, so, you tend to compromise a lot for people who do not deserve it. Most of you are burnt out too, maybe, you worked so hard in school or whatever for your entire life but now you just cannot find yourself being able to do anything anymore. This is changing though, you are changing emotionally and it will start to affect the way you act too. You're shedding your old skin right now, most of you are done with being in the sidelines, you wish to be a winner. One thing about you is that you never give up. You're constantly evolving yourself and pretty much being born again. You are going through a hard ending that is starting to feel easier now that you can see it as a new beginning. Take care, rooting for you !!

Ok, so, what if all the madrigal kids were put on the "golden child" pedestal? Even Mirabel (she can have a gift or no gift, it's your choice).
Isabela = The perfect girl who can create flowers. She's agile, sweet, and beautiful. If you had a bad day she can give you a few flowers to make you feel better. She can also help with birthdays, funerals, weddings, etc.
Dolores = The girl who can hear if anyone is in trouble or just someone to spill the tea with. She can also help if any person or child is going through abuse of some kind.
Luisa = Has the strength to protect anyone in the family and just help around with heavy things. She's also just as agile and almost never smudges her clothes when she's out doing chores.
Mirabel = ?
Camilo = the perfect gentleman and sweetheart of the family. Always willing to help mothers or parents have a break. Or just willing to make you laugh or smile.
Antonio = The second sweetest boy of the family. Always willing to give a hug or help around. Especially with his new gift, he can easily speak to the animals of Encanto for anything the villagers need. (And to tell the bee's Agustin isn't a threat)
(I'm already writing an au like this, but I just wanted to see what your version of the au would be like. In my version Mirabel got the gift of creating diamonds (jewelry), crystals, and pearls. You can choose if she gets a gift or not tho)
To be honest, I wouldn’t want to do an AU too similar to that of someone else’s, if that makes sense? It isn’t that I dislike the idea though.
Anyway, here are my thoughts on this:
Having all of them be the “golden child” at once kind of renders the trope pointless. If they are all perfect, they are all equal; so there wouldn’t really be a pedestal or favouritism. In addition, having so much may also make it quite messy.
But it is a very intriguing idea to play around with what each child would be like in the role.
Isabela is already the favourite in canon. I don’t have anything to add here.
Dolores is definitely an interesting case. Her gift is one of the ones usually regarded as a curse or associated with negative connotations. Which it isn’t, it is arguably one of the more helpful gifts. Combined with her passion and intelligence, she would make a very capable golden child and definitely achieve that ideal of a perfect, young lady that we see Abuela going for with Isabela in canon.
Luisa is one of the more likely to be a golden child for me. If Abuela valued more hard work than reputation, as Luisa could easily be argued as the one who does the most to benefit the community alongside her mother. At the same time, she is also this figure of bravery and protection, which easily adds to the possible idolisation of her character to the town.
Camilo is similar to Luisa. Given his optimistic spirit and the desire to bring smiles or laughter to all, he is definitely one of the more friendly and social members of the family - it is easy to imagine him being the favourite of the town because of how his work brings him so close to their lives. He’d fall into a similar trap to Isabela, hiding his more mischievous and chaotic nature, in favour of a more gentlemen persona to please Abuela.
Mirabel is not usually handled well in AUs where she’s swapped to be the favourite. She gets wildly out of character and just becomes another Señorita Perfecta Isabela or idolised for being more vulnerable (which… why? You’d have to have the same feelings to the entire town). Mirabel is the brains of her sisters (Luisa = brawn, Isabela = beauty). There is so much potential behind a mind or logic based gift and the subsequent pressures Mirabel might face as “the most intelligent girl in town”. And I will never get why nobody takes advantage of it.
Antonio is another one to see being an easy charmer. The youngest favouritism is rather common and how could you say anything bad about a sweet, little boy who can talk to animals? I haven’t seen anyone experiment with him as the favourite before, so it would be very exciting to see what someone comes up with.

hi! I’ve just found this blog! I’m getting back to one piece after a long time and was wondering if I could please ask for an Izou, Ace and Marco HC’s?
So you know how Luffy idolised shanks a the red hair pirates as a kid? How about the mentioned three with a little girl who’s maybe the daughter/granddaughter of the bar owner and sees them quite often (maybe the island belongs to whiteboard) and is always excitedly following them around when they visit. How about her saying she’ll become a big brave pirate and wants to marry them once she’s old enough? Like a little girl crush maybe?
If you’re not comfortable with the crush then her being a big fan of them is fine! Thank you!
This is so cute! Just this adorable little girl with her little girl crush like kids do sometimes (I know I had one). As a note, just because she has a childish crush, does not mean that this is romantic in any way nor do I condone such things!
Warnings: slight Wano spoilers, little girl crushes
Word Count: 690
Every time you saw their ship on the horizon, you couldn’t help but become giddy. He was coming, he was almost here, you’d get to see him again! Your ‘first crush’ as everyone called him. You were insistent that you were going to marry him though! You weren’t just a stupid kid! You were going to be one of the biggest, bravest pirates out there. You were going to become so great that Whitebeard would have no choice but to change his ‘only guys’ rule and allow you to be on his crew! Then once you were on his ship you were going to marry your love! Until then, you’d greet them at the docks, running towards their ship as fast as your little 10-year-old legs would allow.
Izou
100% thinks of you as a kid sister.
He thinks you’re the most adorable little girl ever.
Just so sweet and cute.
If he were the kind of person who ruffles hair, he’d totally ruffle your hair.
Instead he dresses you up in nice kimonos.
You’d wanted to dress like him so you’d tried wrapping a bed sheet around yourself.
He’d chuckled and helped you out, saying that next time he’d bring you a real kimono.
Said you looked like a little doll once you were dressed up and in make-up.
When you’re not around, he asks if there’s any little boys interested in you.
Partially to protect you and partially so you become interested in somebody your own age (seriously, he’s 43 pre Marineford!)
Still encourages you to follow your dreams, whether that’s becoming a pirate or simply protecting those you love.
Tells you all sorts of stories about Wano, his sister, Oden, and the other samurai.
Also tells you a lot of Wano fairytales.
Has taught you how to shoot.
Seriously, he cares about you, you’re like family to him.
Marco
Tries, repeatedly, to tell you you’re too young for marriage (and too young for him, cough cough) or to be thinking about marriage.
Lots of head pats.
Indulges you and lets you play nurse.
You do actually help him when they dock.
You help him with organizing things, restocking, and ‘bandaid duty’.
You literally just hand out bandaids to people who ‘need’ them.
Being the adorable little girl who follows him around, he’s noticed a lot more people needing bandaids while they’re at your island.
Has let you curl up for a nap while he was in phoenix form.
Niece-uncle vibes.
Always sighs in exasperation when you say you’re going to marry him no matter what.
He doesn’t want to crush you, but he doesn’t want to indulge that either.
Tells you that being a pirate is hard work and tries to encourage other things while not crushing your dream to become a pirate.
He wouldn’t mind if you became a pirate, but for safety reasons, he’d rather you take over your mother’s bar.
Because of his phoenix form, people call you his ‘duckling’.
Ace
Omg, ALL the big brother vibes!
Calls you his little sister, ruffles your hair, just so much big brother shit!
It makes you pout. He’s treating you like a kid!
You’re his future wife, how dare he treat you like a child!
You claiming to be a big, brave pirate reminds him of Luffy.
He absolutely encourages it and says that you’ll totally be accepted onto Whitebeard's crew
Knows you likely won’t
Plays pirates with you so long as you don’t pretend he’s your ‘pirate husband’.
Defends his decision to play with you by saying that he doesn’t want to crush your dreams
Which is kind of true, but he also loves being a big brother to you.
Is the least strange of the three to say you want to marry him. (he’s 20, not 40)
Still doesn’t want to indulge the idea of getting married though.
For so many reasons.
Tells you so many stories about Luffy.
Calls Luffy your ‘other big brother’.
Treats you kind of like how he treated Tama.
Teaches you all sorts of things like tying knots, navigation, etc. things you’ll need to become a pirate.

Hello there! I hope you are having a good day. If your requests are still open, may I ask the Romantic yandere Duke Eckhart and the platonic yanderes Ivonne, Penelope, Derrick and Reynold from Villainess Are Destined To Die manhwa? I saw a very similar post on your account and I really liked it. Thank you o(≧▽≦*)o
Don't worry about requests being closed! A way you can find out if they're closed is reading my pinned post :)
Tumblr media
(for this, reader is a duke[idk if theres a gn term for duke])
-At first, Duke Eckhart only saw you as an acquaintance and a friendly rival
-Of course, it was different with his children, Derrick, Reynold and Ivonne
-They all as a group first met you at the second prince's birthday, with you leaning on a pillar behind you, watching how other's interact
-Although Derrick admired your achievements and wanted to become actual friends with you because of your past help, he didn't do anything to approach you, but Reynold and Ivonne were different and proudly went up to you and introduced themselves
-Safe to say, you gained two emotionally attached children when you befriended them, inviting them to a tea party you're before going to host a month later
-Of course, when the day the tea party was starting, Ivonne and Reynold brought Derrick and the duke, a notice being sent to you the day before the tea party would start
-When they arrived, Ivonne and Reynold ran up and hugged you, thanking you for inviting them while you dismissed the unexpected hugs, patting their heads while welcoming them, soon after Derrick and the duke ran up to the three of you, with the duke scolding his youngest children and apologised, but you simply dismissed his apology, saying you didn't mind them doing this, as they're now your friends
-That's the first spark the duke's feelings for you started
-It started as a small spark of admiration for you, but it soon grew into a small flame, still dismissing it as bigger admiration for you, yeah, he was stubborn in not realising he had feelings for you..
-Thankfully, the children caught on with the moments where he woud quietly stare at you and your interactions with his kids, the way he would quickly look away when you noticed him staring and down to the way he would take your suggestions to heart
-Safe to say, the duke unkowingly gained three wingmen for him to get with you. Well, of course they weren't over their late mother's death(yet), but you easily and rather quickly took up the role of a parental figure to them, giving them advice whenever they came for it, to even helping them with their homework and any problems they had!
-Derrick was the first person to go yandere in general for you, as you comforted him crying outside the manor a week after his mother died, offering him some things to do so he could get his mind off of his mother's death
-Ivonne was the second person to go yandere, as she always watched you in whatever you were doing, every action of yours was powerful, yet elegant like a thorny rose, like a beautiful flower in a sea of plainness people, so close, yet so far, worshipping an idolised version of you in her head
-Reynold was the last (biological) child to go yandere, only turning because of Ivonne singing praises about you and finally seeing it for himself
-With the help of his children, the duke finally acknowledged his feelings for you, and so, tries to get closer to you and then finally court you after multiple motnhs
-He was really glad you accepted his request to court you, sending you gifts of anything you stared at for longer than five seconds, even organizing small dates the two of you could do in your little-to-none free time!
-Unfortunately, before the duke would announce to his family that he's courting you, Ivonne went missing. Everyone was heartbroken at the news and you offered to bring him more men and yourself to find Ivonne, he begrudgingly accepted
-Sadly enough, the search was bound to stop, as no one found any bit of clues yet. But when he suddenly brought an eleven year old girl who somewhat resembled Ivonne and told his children that she'll be their new adopted sister? All hell broke loose in the dukedom
-Derrick and Reynold were reasonably angry, yes, but you were happy in a bittersweet way, although you know that everyone won't be over Ivonne in a long time, the duke brought in a starving girl he found in the slums
-As soon as the girl, Penelope, was left in her bedroom, you went and introduced yourself to her, indirectly claiming her as your own daughter, which you didn't mind
-And so when you proclaimed yourself to now be her guardian, you ordered every business and work-related paper to be sent to the Eckhart dukedom so you could look after Penelope, and so, now you be
-And so as the self-proclaimed guardian of Penelope, you became a temporary consistent person in the Eckhart household, having every work-related paper sent to your bedroom in the Eckhart chateau, having your bedroom next to Penelope's as by your request
-You loved Penelope, truly, so you decided to subtly and little by little teach her everything you knew, as well as reading and writing
-Og!Penelope was really thankful for having a person like you around her at all times in such a cold and negative household, even more for teaching her reading and writing! She's always acting like a mad dog so she could be comforted by you, as well!
-Every time a staff member is caught abusing Penelope, you'd lock them in a dungeon in your dukedom, preferring mentally torturing and breaking them instead of getting your hands dirty in filth like that. You always either make sure they shut their mouth and swear allegiance to you and Penelope, or just emotionally and mentally break them to nothing but a loyal servant to you and your adoptive daughter! :)
-You were Siyeon Cha's favorite character in the game, as you always were kind to both Penelope and Ivonne, Ivonne's bad endings associating with you would be you dying protecting either Ivonne or Penelope. You always protected and supported Penelope in the past according to the wiki of the game in both hard and normal mode
-Derrick and Reynold were both jealous and angry, why are you spending so much time with the mad dog? Did you just forget them entirely? This isn't fair!
-That was one of the reason's Reynold lied and plotted about Penelope stealing Ivonne's bracelet, of course, like an overbearing mother, you desperately denied the claims of Penelope doing that, going as far as arguing with both Reynold AND the duke for the first time, shocking everyone except Penelope
-At the end of the argument, you took Penelope and ordered the servants to pack both of your bags and get a carriage to drive back to your dukedom, comforting a crying Penelope
-When the two of you went to your chateau, you prepared to send a letter about temporarily stopping to court each other until the problem is resolved, and the duke begrudgingly complied, as you were the person with more power than him at the moment
-And now like a divorced couple, for Penelope it's mandatory to see the Eckhart family for a few days before returning back home to you
-In short, duke Eckhart is a rather possesive yet somewhat submissive(literally cried writing that) yandere who loves spoiling his darling, Derrick is a worshipper, possessive and obsessive yandere, Ivonne is obsessive and worshippy, Reynold is obsessive, possessive and worshippy, Penelope is manipulative, obsessive and possessive
A/N: kinda wrote y/n as a platonic yandere for og!Penelope, but oh well!

so i've been obsessing over sagau lately but make it that not everyone worships the character + kazuha being one of them!!!!!!!!! bc taking kazuha's character into account he just doesn't seem like one to devote all his life to some random god that "supposedly" created him so!!!!! contribution to kazuha kissers and sagau eaters ig
story is also based on how FUCKING spiteful i am mthat kazuboy didnt come home and sent one (1) heizou instead. who needs kazuha when you have heizou (delusional but also actually starting to like heizou)
she/her pronouns for reader/The Creator, @foxic sorry if you didn't want to be pinged (please let me know if its ok with you) but i wrote something finally hehehhe
ty @souglias for screaming over what i wrote, lots and lots of emotional support <3333

There is one thing that not everyone knows about Kazuha, and it is that he does not like The Creator.
It is not that he hates her, but he does not idolise her like the rest of Teyvat. Kaedehara Kazuha has never been one to bind himself to religion and worship — he is a leaf in the wind, a sailboat out at sea, constantly wandering to where his surroundings take him. Kaedehara Kazuha does not anchor himself to one place or one person because it is just not something he would do.
However, Kazuha has heard the multiple times The Creator has tried reaching out to him with affectionate words and actions that clearly spoke of her devotion to him. Words after words of her admiration and hope that he would be a property of hers filled Kazuha’s mind everyday. And while it made Kazuha feel slightly guilty that he did not return The Creator’s feelings, it still did not change the fact that he would not come home to her to be controlled by her.
So when The Creator had tried to use her hard earned Intertwined Fates to wish for him, he expertly dodged them, refusing to let an outside force take control of his own body and use him to her will. Just like he expected, he got weird looks from the characters waiting to drop down from the skies above into the arms of their beloved creator.
It didn’t mean that he didn’t feel bad when The Creator groaned when the zombie child from Liyue, Qiqi, dropped down instead of him though. His friend Shikanoin Heizou, who had yet to come home to The Creator, also noticed his hesitance and reluctance.
“Why don’t you just go home to her?” Heizou raised an eyebrow, noting the way Kazuha’s ones furrowed as he looked down at The Creator. “She’s been hoping you would come to her since last year. It’s not everyone that catches The Creator’s eye. Sure, I understand why you aren’t worshipping her like everyone else does, but since you feel bad, why dont you just… well, go?”
Kazuha does not say a word.
Heizou sighs and scratches his head as a divine light shines down upon him, indicating his time to drop down to The Creator. “Oh well, you do you, friend. I’m also not religious, but I don’t think it would hurt to humour The Creator for a while.” He pats Kazuha’s back with a sympathetic smile before jumping from the skies into The Creator’s world.
Kazuha watches as his friend becomes The Creator’s newest vessel, who was still upset that the red samurai did not return home. His mind was in turmoil, a big contrast to how it would usually be clear and free after the Vision Hunt Decree ended. He knew that The Creator would inevitably use his body as a vessel once he came home, which was exactly what he was dreading, but a part of him wondered if he was being far too mean to someone who had been relentlessly hoping for him— only him— to come home to her.
Do you hate me that much? Kazuha hears The Creator’s soft voice in his head.
I do not know, he replies in his head, in hopes that The Creator will accept his sincere apology that does not hold any promise of relieving her distress.
-
Kazuha thinks he’s dreaming when he sees the divine Creator strolling around in Inazuma in all her glory.
As surreal as it might have seemed, there was no doubting the identity of the divine entity walking around Inazuma City with the Shogun. Even if he convinced himself otherwise, the constant chattering of the admiring and curious onlookers would continue to deny him. Even your striking appearance could wash away all doubts of a non-believer. Naturally, everyone would be curious of The Creator’s sudden appearance in Teyvat, because she was believed to have controlled the world from another dimension and never step foot in her own creation, but also because you were so dazzling and divine that even Kazuha’s breath was taken away when he caught a glimpse of you.
What was truly a sight to behold, however, was that the Shogun, one of your (self-proclaimed) most devoted acolytes, was following you around like an affectionate puppy. The Shogun. The Raiden Shogun, the Electro Archon, User of the Musou no Hitotachi, Her Excellency The Almighty Narukami Ogosho, was following you around like a lovesick fool, bidding to every demand (or rather, polite request) you gave her. Tomo would’ve loved to see this.
A part of Kazuha knew that he would eventually need to meet you at least once, since one: he already knew that you were inclined towards him slightly more than the other vision holders in Inazuma, and two: you seemed pretty adamant about meeting all the vision holders in Inazuma. And even if they wanted to refuse meeting you (not like any of them, apart from Kazuha, were against meeting your excellency), who in their right mind would reject seeing their very own creator?
Kazuha, that’s who. He’s sure you already know he isn’t as fond of you as Teyvat is, so he’s been dragging his inevitable meeting with you. Even when you look around in hopes of meeting a certain white haired samurai, even when Thoma and Ayaka convince him to just say hi to you, even when Ayato and Yae Miko try threatening him into meeting with your divine self, Kazuha always finds a way out to not see you.
But when he hears from the citizens that you’ve been walking around Narukami Island with Detective Heizou, one of his closest friends, he already knows today may as well be the day that you finally see the man who has been rejecting you from a different world.
(Despite him convincing himself that he does not like you, a sick, egoistic part of him wants to see you run up to him and profess your love for him.)
Kazuha curls his hands in fists and gulps when he sees you and Heizou approaching. When Heizou spots him, he excitedly tugs at your sleeve and pulls you over to a smiling Kazuha.
“I suppose you already know who Kazuha is, Your Grace,” Heizou winks, and you laugh lightly, not meeting Kazuha’s eyes. “After all, he’s the man who has been playing hard to get, constantly refusing to be your vessel before you entered this world.”
Yikes, Kazuha groans internally, but keeps his smiling facade on. Way to go, Heizou.
(Kazuha wonders what you will do when his eyes meet yours. He wonders if you would blush or stutter over your words cutely. He wonders if you would shyly tug on his clothes and ask if you could spend more time with him. He wonders how he would respond to that question.)
When his eyes really meet yours, he expects to see some emotion. All you do is stare wordlessly for a second before smiling and turning back to Heizou, greatly surprising Kazuha.
“Is he your friend?” You try asking the detective, who is in a similar state of shock as he is. Seems like he wasn’t the only one expecting you to swoon over the samurai on first meeting (but really, who with dignity would do that in public, let alone The Creator?)
“Uh… yeah! He just returned from a trip with Captain Beidou from Liyue, so you’ve chosen the right time to visit Inazuma if you want to meet the one and only Kaedehara Kazuha,” Heizou replies awkwardly, desperate eyes searching Kazuha’s in a silent request for answers. “Um, Your Grace, is there anywhere you’d like to visit? Perhaps Kazuha would like to accompany you— Kazuha, hey, say hi to Her Grace—”
“Ah, it’s fine,” you interject, to Kazuha’s and Heizou’s surprise again. “I’m sure Kazuha’s tired from journeying around with Captain Beidou, so we should spare him the trouble and give him time to rest.” With that said, you give a curt respectful bow to Kazuha before walking off towards Tenshukaku, Heizou following behind dazed and confused.
Not as confused as Kazuha, though. The samurai’s face twists in shock when you walk by him nonchalantly. No longing looks, no flustered face, no hopeful words, nothing he had expected you to give him. Just a polite but distant attitude and would’ve fooled him into thinking that you never cared about him in the first place.
But that can’t be, because way before you arrived in Teyvat, he had heard your constant pleas for him to come home to you, to finally be yours so you could use him as one of your favourite vessels. He was not oblivious to your desire for him, so why…?
(How odd. He should be enjoying the fact that you aren’t clinging to him, but the strange ache in his heart suggests otherwise.)
Before he can stop himself, he turns around and loudly calls out, “Wait…!” successfully gaining your attention. Kazuha didn’t know what overcame him when he decided to call for you without reason, and now you’re staring at him curiously. Heizou, on the other hand, had a slightly amused look on his face, since he was not expecting Kazuha, the Kazuha who had always rejected your advances, to call for your attention after you nearly ignored him.
That makes two of us, then. Kazuha gulps and puts on an apologetic, reassuring smile. “Sorry about that, I was mistaken about something. Please enjoy your stay in Inazuma, Your Grace.”
(Kazuha somehow dislikes the way you nod politely at him again before turning away, never once looking back at him.)
-
Kaedehara Kazuha has not been feeling well since you arrived.
Ironically enough, it wasn’t because of your presence, but the opposite. There was no effort needed in order to avoid you, because you just never seemed to look for him. He did try to take his mind off this, and it did work for a while— until he walked out of Komore Teahouse and saw you and Heizou giggling while walking out of Inazuma City together.
You and Heizou. Heizou and you.
You and Heizou.
Heizou and you.
Kazuha doesn’t deny the envy that comes when he sees his own friend hanging around the divine Creator so freely. (And perhaps it wasn’t just simple envy.)
That wasn’t the only time that made him wish he had been nicer in his attitude towards you. The other time when he was in the teahouse, he walked across a private room that so happened to house you and Heizou that day, and let’s just say that Kamisato Ayato should’ve made the walls more soundproof.
“I’m not sure, Heizou,” you laugh, but anyone can hear the small dejected feeling in your voice. “I get the feeling that he doesn’t like me very much.”
It doesn’t take a genius to figure out who that “he” refers to. “Your Grace, please don’t say that,” Kazuha hears the frown in Heizou’s voice, “He is just unable to adhere to your desires because of… certain reasons, but I promise you he doesn’t dislike you as much as you think.”
“Well that clearly wasn’t the case when I tried wishing for him, only for him to reject me twice,” you’re clearly joking when you say that. A part of Kazuha wonders just how much sadness you were masking when you said that. “I’m afraid I’ve unknowingly done something to upset him.”
Through the thin translucent walls of the teahouse, Kazuha sees Heizou’s silhouette put his hand on top of yours. He doesn’t bother to watch the conversation unfold any further and walks away.
By now, he had come to a devastating conclusion that perhaps he was more fond of you than he thought. He had been constantly trying to convince himself with his own morals, thinking his strong personal ideals could overpower the small part of him that admired you. Perhaps that small part of him, too, wanted to be yours, belong to you, and only you, contrasting his belief in leading his own life completely. Perhaps that small part of him, too, did accept you as his Creator and wished to be able to show the love that he had hidden for you all along.
And perhaps that small part of you, he might daresay, was jealous of Heizou for spending time with you.
The thought alone makes Kazuha want to pull all his hair out. It felt impossible for Kazuha, possibly the only vision holder to reject being The Creator’s vessel, to be jealous of someone who had every right to be loved by The Creator because he came home to her when he asked her to. This was retribution. It was his fault for rejecting you in the first place, and now he reaps what he sows.
His migraine is not at all relieved by more intruding thoughts of you and Heizou being together. Images flash in his head at random times with no apparent reason, all of which include you and Heizou being affectionate together. Laughing together, holding hands, feeding fried food to each other, going on strolls together, maybe even sharing an intimate kiss—
Kazuha’s cheeks flush in a dark red at the mere thought of it. What an unpleasant feeling. Forget you, what would anyone think of him imagining obscene images of The Creator in his head?
“Oh, Kazuha— Hey, you’re unusually red, are you alright?” Fortunately (or unfortunately), you rush over and break Kazuha’s train of thoughts. He only flushes more when you lean in to measure his forehead temperature with your hand, pure concern written all over your face.
“Goodness,” you pull back and bite your bottom lip — bless your caring self — “Kazuha, your body temperature is a bit high… do you need to rest somewhere? I can help you over—”
“Your Grace,” Kazuha interrupts you and wraps a hand around your wrist, using it to pull you towards him. It does nothing to stop the raging blush on his face, but said blush appears to have spread a little bit to you.
This time, he forces you to look him in the eyes for real. You don’t look away or ignore him or leave him hanging with a curt bow. He asks for your attention, all of it for a short while, through eye contact. You let him do so through silent consent.
“I…” Kazuha gulps, like he did many times during your first meeting, “I apologise for my rash behaviour, Your Grace. Please forgive me for this, and forgive me for my doubts towards you.”
You don’t speak, so he continues. The expression on his face is no longer flustered, but ashamed and regretful. “I wasn’t too keen on meeting you because a part of me didn’t want to acknowledge you as my Creator, my ruler, my god, and perhaps… I might’ve liked you more than I gave you credit for. I understand if you’re upset that I rejected you when you asked me to come home many times before—”
“No, no!” You interject nervously. “I- well, I didn’t want to force you home if you didn’t want to, so you don’t have to blame yourself over that.”
You’re not quite sure why the Kazuha before you is greatly different from the Kazuha in Teyvat when you were wishing for him. What caused his change of heart?
“...Your Grace, I must admit…”
Threats?
“I’ve been feeling a little peculiar lately…”
Influence?
“I was wondering if you would know about it. It only happens on certain occasions…”
Guilt?
“Like when you and… Detective Heizou were walking around together.”
Jea— oh.
Oh.
Oh!
“Don’t tell me you suddenly fell in love with me because Heizou was being friendly to me,” You teased him, “Goodness, just what must I do to gain your attention for once?”
“Huh?”
“I…” You awkwardly tuck your hair behind your ear, admitting, “I didn’t want to bother you in this world because I thought you would continue to dislike me.”
Kazuha stills, his expression morphing into one of regret and love. “My sincerest apologies, Your Grace. I never intended to make you feel unloved by me. I was earlier doubtful of my devotion to you, but it seems that the winds have brought me my answer.”
There is one thing that no one knows about Kazuha except you, and it is that he does not love you, he does not worship you, and he does not wish to be at your every beck and call because you are his god.
Or so he says, because if anyone saw how softly he was caressing and looking at you under the sakura trees of Inazuma City, they would think otherwise, artists would start painting a portrait of the two of you, and poets would immediately begin writing about how The Creator had finally chosen her favourite acolyte.

hc that the titans know/knew dick better than the batfam — and it makes sense, but i dont feel like elaborating on this part. anyway...
it'd be nice to see too, yk... considering dick is the eldest in the batfam and (in at least fan content) he's known to be very caring about family and yadda yadda.
dick was the first. the first child hero/sidekick, the first robin... the leader of the titans. a charismatic leader, a faithful friend. most people idolise him, and even if you get disillusioned after getting to know him personally, there's still a certain amount of admiration and respect that will never go away when it comes to nightwing.
this also works with the yj universe — esp yj because dick's the youngest out of all of them (not too sure abt the titans, but ik he isnt the youngest)
damian's perhaps the closest to dick out of the batfam. most people are aware of the distance between them and him but jason and tim don't realise that they don't know a lot about his brother...
it starts with cass calling him out for pretending to be okay and even trying to adjust his body language to hide his fatigue and his wounds. it goes on with jason commenting about a movie night that dick had wrestled everyone into (the movie had been steph's choice btw) and then either roy or kori respond like this.
jason: *off-handedly commenting abt the movie night and dick*
roy/kori: ???
roy/kori: we saw that movie when it came out. dick hated it and swore not to watch it ever again lmaooo
or maybe it was food. jason talks abt alfred's meals and then kori chuckles and recalls how dick had told her that he wasn't too fond of alfred's cooking. jason had been like "???" because dick always acted like he loved it and then roy goes like no lmaooo dick finds most of alfred's food kinda tasteless. something about british men and not knowing how to put seasoning
when jason confronts dick, dick admits to it
dick: okay yeah true
dick: i didnt rlly like alfie's cooking when i first came here but he got better... gradually. it's better than before but
dick: ...if you ask me, i prefer his baking.
jason: roy said smth about him trying to make one of your ma's recipes
dick: i never asked him again.
dick: (starts thinking about how he had nobody to teach him how to cook like his parents did and becomes SadTM)
and then cass damian and duke all go like "??? im not alone ??" because in reality they all find alfred's cooking a little... subpar. its not bad per say but u have to rmbr alfred is old white british man and there are battles you lose. anyway, cass damian duke and dick all bond over this because they thought it was only them who found the meals prepared a little... yk. alfred still works on getting better but there is nothing that will beat food made by hands who know how it shld taste yk...
(sorry about the alfred slander)
anyway, tim starts to realise despite being dick's little brother, and the only little brother dickie had for a while, there's a lot he still doesnt know abt the guy. which is funny because tim used to essentially stalk him
kori and dick make up after a long discussion about assault and victim blaming and there are a lot of apologies and they resolve their remaining issues (that doesn't mean what happened was okay, or it was forgotten or whatever)
dick actually asks for some space and tells her their friendship will probably never be what it was and kori is sad but is like. okay. they're still friends after a few months of distance and a lot of therapy on dick's side. he didn't blame her for any of it but he still needed... time
roy and dick also sort their shit out. im unclear as to what that shit actually is because roy used to adore dick when they were speedy and robin but whatever they sort it out and there's some homoerotic tension between them im telling u... dick still asks for space el oh el it takes a while to recover from years of distance and they're not the same
but just because they aren't the same doesn't mean everything's different.
the titans are subjected to the changes in dick and they watch him interact with the batfam, meanwhile batfam realises they don't know a lot abt dickie while watching the titans take care of him in several different ways while they, despite being a family of investigators, didnt know smth was up. it's mostly donna who does the "taking care of"
ik i actually didn't mention many of the titans but... yeah

Defending Ben 10 Alien Force Season 3 With My Life!
(An analysis of Ben's character and why I find it consistent up to this point)
This essay thingy is part one of a bigger project where I rewatch all of Ben 10 and look back on the series. A sort of retrospective.
Originally I wanted to watch all the shows, and then write one big post. But I decided to do it in parts to make it easier. And since the final season of alien force is largely hated, I thought I should focus on it specifically (since I have very different opinions than everyone on this).
Tumblr media
Now when starting I did expect to see Ben's character be inconsistent, going from classic, to alien force, to season 3 of alien force. That is the popular opinion online and the one I had as a kid. Ben goes from childish kid, to mature teen, to an even more childish kid.
So I'm sure a lot of people are going to be shocked when I say that not only do I completely disagree with this perspective, I found Ben's character strangely consistent through both shows and I think he only becomes more nuanced and interesting by the end.
First I think most people who say Ben is either childish, or mature, or a psychopath, don't really know what these words mean, or don't even understand how Ben's character traits work.
(the psycho thing we'll get to in the next post since we haven't gotten to ultimate alien yet)
Does being mature mean you can't be petty or selfish sometimes? Does having negative traits automatically make you a child? This is the kind of flaw in ben 10 discussion I have noticed with this rewatch, we associate bad traits with regression and good traits with development. But that is very shallow way to look at fiction. Characters can have more than one trait, they can even have conflicting traits. And character development can also include negative development.
I think Ben's maturity is something that's greatly overstated, because his personality in Alien Force is a trait he has shown in the classic series many times. And by boiling him down to childish and mature Ben, it takes away a lot of the nuance he has as a character.
So enough about that, let's go back to the beginning.
Ben 10 (the original show)
The start of the series shows us that Ben is a kid who just wants to sit back and enjoy life, but hates bullies and wants to help others. And also he really loves his grandpa (this is a clue that will help us later).
Throughout the first season Ben struggles with being a hero. He struggles to differentiate helping people selflessly, and helping people because he gets a kick out of it. For a 10 year old his behavior is very realistic. Of course he wants to be seen as a big shot and be validated for his actions.
It isn't until Max is hospitalized that Ben finally realises the dangers of the world he's in. That's when we see Ben drop the hero act and turn into a scared kid. We see him at his most vulnerable. The first look at the real Ben.
Ben and Max fight a lot in the original show, but despite that Max is probably the most important person in Ben's life. Even more than his parents. And I think it's largely because Ben wishes he can be more free like his grandpa. Living in an rv and going wherever you want. So losing Max for 10 year old Ben is the worst thing that can happen to him. He not only looks up to grandpa Max, he idolises him and wants to follow in his footsteps. Which becomes more obvious once Ben finds out about the Plumbers. And now season 2 is about Ben becoming an even bigger hero.
The first season definitely has the most consistent narrative of the classic series. I think Ben doesn't really learn much until the movie. He does learn to be closer with his family, but there's no real challenge for him like the first season. People will say this is the show recycling his character arc, which I sort of get, but it's not the same to me. Ben isn't being challenged on the same level, he's just going through episodic cartoon plots. A lot of it isn't serious so Ben isn't really being serious. To him he's the cool alien with a badass grandfather and can solve any problem. It's all a fun adventure to him.
Even when he meets his future self the message is that Ben being a kid and having fun is what makes him Ben. It's future Ben who has to learn to have fun and be a kid again. A clever twist on the time travel trope.
Despite that Ben is shown to be more responsible with the hero stuff. He tries to help others not just by literally saving their lives, but also talking to them, or standing up to villains. Kevin being the best example. Ben tries to befriend him many times, but will also risk his own life to stop Kevin from hurting Gwen. Which at the moment Ben didn't even have the Omnitrix at the end of season 2. We see that despite being a kid he's also gotten braver.
Another note, Gwen and Ben have a pretty good relationship from the start. While they do fight it's never anything serious, they're just being kids and fooling around. The kind of childish arguments you forget in an hour. Yet they're very close and love goofing around together. You can tell that they care for each other despite the petty banter.
Of course once we get to the secret of the Omnitrix (the true ending of the first show imo) Ben's character is finally given its conclusion for the classic series. Here Max's role is swapped with Tetrax, Ben looks up to Tetrax in a similar way, and while Tetrax is friendly, he's also the guy who really knows how to get Ben to reflect on his actions. Once Ben thinks he has lost Gwen he is back to the scared vulnerable kid. We see all his aggression, how he blames himself, how all that weight is really hard for him to process at such a young age.
What's even better about this is how the movie starts with Ben causing trouble for Gwen and they get in a fight. But Gwen still sneaks into Tetrax's ship to help Ben. So losing Gwen is not only him losing his cousin. Ben's losing someone he felt responsible for. He's failing Gwen, himself, and grandpa Max all at the same time.
Of course Gwen is alive but it doesn't change that Ben has finally opened up about his insecurities and we finally get a full look into his inner self. Which brings us to...
Alien Force, the show that made Ben mature (or did it?)
Now remember everything I said about his character? Now think about the plot of alien force. Ben realises his grandfather is missing, there's an alien conspiracy that his grandfather entrusted him to solve, and even an old foe is there he needs to ally with.
Ben is essentially forced to take up the role of grandpa Max in the story. And for a 15 year old that's a lot of pressure to take.
I'd say Ben's character shift for Alien Force is not only organic, it's the natural follow up to his character arc in the classic show. As someone who's always seeking validation now finally being put in a position where he has to be the person he always looked up to. Sure the stakes were high in classic, but Max (and Tetrax) was always there to help and give Ben motivation.
There's an aura of tension early on as Ben still doesn't even trust Kevin. He doesn't understand the new Omnitrix or the new aliens. He has to watch max die and still keep his cool. Because he was trusted this role and can't let Max down.
I don't think Ben matured, he was forced into a role of being the mature adult at 15.
Even Ben's parents are mad at him for doing all this. As they should because Ben is still a kid. He shouldn't be risking his life. He should literally be at the club. The first thing he does before he puts on the Omnitrix again is talk to Gwen. Because he needs her help. And Kevin. Later from other plumber kids too. He isn't doing it all by himself, and he understands that he can't do it alone to an extent. But despite that there's still that urge to be the leader. The one who has to be in charge all the time. He wants to prove himself after all.
Ben's ability to befriend others, is ultimately his strongest trait in the first 2 seasons. It's what ends up saving the universe after all. Something that wasn't all that present in the original show, but can be seen through characters like Kevin, who Ben tried to help many times. And now he's his best ally.
A lot of this is very subtle, and some of it might even be my own interpretation of the story. I don't know if the writers intended all this nuance I'm describing. It is only interesting to look back and analyse it.
The mystery and the slow lumin threat of the highbreed is a good plot for Ben's arc of taking up responsibility. It's something he can't directly solve as easily as in the classic show. Where in the classic show any problem he faced was over in 1 or 2 episodes. All mystery was behind the scenes with him not being aware.
But now it's different. The mystery comes crashing into him. He literally got a football medal the same day he found out his grandfather has went missing because of a secret alien invasion that's been going on for a long time. Again the pressure he's put under comes at him suddenly and he has to adjust to it all in the moment. He's 15 years old.
And despite all odds Ben comes through and stops the invasion, saving the entire galaxy. With the help of all the people he befriended of course. Ben finally proved himself to his grandfather and to the entire universe that he is worthy of being a hero. In the classic series he showed he was a hero, but was still a kid who had learning to do. But now he proved he can stand on his own as a man at age 15.
So naturally Ben took a break.
The part where I shamelessly defend season 3 with my life
The shift for season 3 is off (especially when the first episode starts with an argument we have no context for) and I understand some of this was a mandate, yet I love it. It's a strange shift at first until you start to think what is actually going on in Ben's head.
He finally did what he always wanted to achieve. Become a great hero like his grandfather. The galaxy loves him. And all that validation is more than enough to tell him to relax for now.
Ben had to take a break after all the pressure that was placed on him. He needed a break. He needed to be a teenager again who watches cartoons and has fun. It's important for his mental health after all.
Of course this is a cartoon and he isn't real. But this analysis isn't about that, it's about trying to understand what kind of person Ben is.
Still i do not see how Ben is stupid or childish in these episodes. Relaxed and silly yeah, but in a teenager way, not a 10 year old Ben way. With the gold poop episode for instance I went in expecting to hate it, but now I love it. It's a decent mystery, and Ben's chill attitude makes sense for the situation. It's a celebration and Ben loves to party. Of course he'd be silly with the little aliens.
What I have noticed however is despite Ben being relaxed he's still pretty clever and mature throughout season 3. His quick thinking is actually a major part of this season. With it being directly referenced and even being how he saves the day at the end of the season. I did not expect the show to directly point out Ben's most useful trait and then focus on it durring what's basically his downfall arc.
To reference a few times Ben does this in this season:
In the vreedle episode, Julie emergency calls Ben and Ben shows up seconds later. He didn't wait to think, he arrived as fast as possible once finding out she's in danger.
In the episode where Ben is trapped in the null void without the Omnitrix, we see him actually surviving and doing smart things like covering himself in mud so he won't get spotted.
In the plumber kids episode, Ben is playing the role of the villain mastermind and he has to quickly adapt to the situation and train these kids while not breaking character.
In Charmcaster's debut episode, Ben calls out Kevin for not trusting Gwen. Ben being the mature one in this situation.
We see Ben hasn't changed at all from previous seasons. Season 3 having some of his best moments even. What has changed is the context and circumstances of his actions. He's trying to stay cool and simple because he wants to live his childhood stress free, even if the universe keeps calling him back over and over again, he wants to stay a kid. And that's interesting. We haven't seen that in ben yet. In the classic show he was trying to be a big hero. But now he's tired of all that weight on his shoulders.
Unfortunately the universe keeps calling for his return. The moment Ben tries to relax Vilgax is back. He has taken over 10 planets. And has killed the galactic enforcers trio (they are 100% dead he literally killed 3 side characters just like that). And Ben of course does the reasonable thing and tries to hack the Omnitrix yet again. With horrible results.
People try to use this as an example of Ben being dumb but you gotta realise he's panicking and not thinking straight, and the result is him causing a mess for himself and Kevin. The show is aware Ben is in the wrong here and his actions have consequences. The rest of the season will spend its time exploring Ben's actions and how his quick thinking is both his strongest weapon, as well as his biggest flaw.
Anyway the fight with Vilgax is brilliant and really shows how much Ben had grown. With the return of Diamondhead being both nostalgic and a great way to show his growth. As well as giving Ben another victory that increases his huge ego.
But I must also mention the visuals being beautiful themselves. Season 3 of Alien Force has a subtle upgrade in visuals that I never see mentioned. Everything is more colorful, backgrounds more interesting, the animation more smooth, and the storyboarding is simply wonderful. Don't know why people never talk about this. I guess it will ruin the narrative this is the worst season ever made because of like 4 boring episodes. But I digress.
Still apparently people hate this fight too and claim this scene RUINED Vilgax. How? The only argument I see is he got defeated too easily which.. Have you watched the classic show? Vilgax gets defeated in one single episode by a 10 year old. Vilgax is actually stronger in Alien Force if anything. I don't get how this ruined him at all.
Don't get me wrong. I also prefer his original design and personality. I think this was a poor choice to change him so drastically when the point was bringing back an old foe. But that doesn't mean he's weak. He's clearly stronger. He does a good job fighting Ben. And has even killed 3 characters that you'd expect wouldn't die considering they showed up in a ben 10k episode.
(remember when I said I will be fighting for my life here? I wasn't kidding)
The rest of Season 3 is very episodic ,which is an interesting shift from the previous 2 seasons since they didn't have to make it like this. They had more episodes this time too and cartoon network wasn't against plot or lore. So I'd say this was more of a creative choice than a mandate. Ben's more relaxed so we go back to less world ending threats. Which is good imo because the best standalone episodes are in this season.
Notably Gwen and Kevin get a good focus here (even Julie who should have been the 4th member). With Gwen's best episode so far is in this season. We get more character development for the other 3 protags. And it's very much needed.
Gwen I think didn't get much in the first 2 seasons. She did feel a bit of a downgrade from her classic self. Now however her rivalry with Charmcaster is back, she has her magic, and she has one of the best episodes in the season. The time travel episode is beautiful both visually and naratively, not to mention it's basically writen like a Doctor Who episode, and you gotta love that. But what I love more is how we see Gwen making a huge mistake. Gwen so far hasn't been writen with flaws, unlike Ben and Kevin she isn't given as much depth. So to have an episode that gives Gwen time to make a mistake and fix it, while showing all the effort she'd go through to help Kevin. It was very much needed. Her character deserves more moments like this.
Julie's relationship with Ben is given a bit of drama but in a way where they do communicate and aren't in anyway toxic. I hear this is when their relationship fell off but I don't see it. Their arguments are something Gwen and Kevin often have too and are only there to strengthen their bond. Julie definitely needs to be characterized outside being Ben's girlfriend though, but she's never in a position where she's just Ben's girlfriend. If anything her friendship with Gwen is given more spotlight. Her last appearance for the season being her hanging out with Gwen. Julie definitely deserved to be more than just a side character.
On the other end Kevin gets a huge upgrade with his story line being imo significantly better than what they originally had planned. Originally the story was going to have Kevin turn evil and I am grateful they saved that story line for a later season while this one builds up to it more organically. Here we see how desperate and insecure Kevin is. He even goes back to his more evil self at times. But never too much. His badness is due to his circumstances. He wants to turn back to human. He gets angry. He doesn't trust Gwen. He teams up with villains. But all because he's being pushed into being vulnerable rather than him turning evil suddenly. It's a good small arc that builds up to something bigger later.
As you can see I value character flaws as much as their positive traits. To me a character is less interesting if the story avoids giving them a human element. That's why the character assassination of Ben Tennyson that people talk about to me is one of the best things to ever happen to him.
One episode I HATED as a kid, but now love is the one where the gang go to an alien planet to solve a conflict between 2 identical armies. Kid me hated this because Ben kept messing up and there was no solution in the end. Now however I see the political genius that it is.
While I think this was meant to parody the political system of the US (one group being red and one blue doesn't make it all that subtle), i think the other message I got from it is showing the problems with white saviorism. Ben comes to a planet he has zero political understanding of, and decides he knows how to solve all their problems and can save the day in like 3 hours. Of course he won't and of course he'd end up making things worse.
If you're expecting things to actually be solved and characters to make logical and satisfying actions then this episode is definitely one of the bad ones. But for me, someone who likes to see how characters mess up and the story to collapse on them I really found this episode enjoyable. It's also just very funny. Ben comes off as very comedic to me in his attempt to be helpful and reasonable. He's not being immature but he's being very self centered and too up his own ass to notice that he's coming off as a dick.
I think that's what this season is focusing on. Not Ben becoming immature or childish as like a singular character trait he switches to. No, what the season is telling us is despite Ben being a great hero and a quick thinker, he's also easily able to fall into the arrogant asshole type if he doesn't control himself.
In the ghostfreak episode we even see how despite being his quick thinking self, he doesn't trust Gwen and Kevin as much as before. His ego is getting to him and others are taking notice.
Ben's behavior to me comes off as very realistic. I cannot hate a character who's flawed in a way that a real person is flawed. I don't see a switch in personality. I see one person displaying their traits in different ways depending on the scenario they are in.
So why people hate this season so much I will never understand.
Anyway let's talk about the worst episode in alien force.
Primus
Okay people you're right about this one. Primus sucks. It's bad. It's meaningless. It's confusing. And it's counterproductive for what it's trying to do. Honestly it feels like a rough draft of an episode before they actually start writing it.
Ignoring the fact that the concept itself is flawed, there's no time given to even show us Primus or make us understand it. And it ruins Vilgax's arc by giving him the Omnitrix WAY TOO EARLY. It kind of ruins the finale too since Ben giving the Omnitrix away is part of the climax of this season. Both Vilgax and Azmuth are pretty dumb this episode and it's weird watching them here. Vilgax is a bit better until he gets the Omnitrix and becomes dumb for no reason. Couldn't they just make it so Ben is the one with the key to activate the Omnitrix? Azmuth also what do you mean you turned into Rath to fight Vilgax instead of like way big? Ben isn't dumb in this one though. His trick to get back the Omnitrix is smart even though the way it was written is dumb. And we do get to see him vulnerable after losing the Omnitrix. Still this episode should have been replaced with something better and the show would have been better off for it.
This episode is brought up often because it is the weakest and if it was your impression of the season you'd think it's bad too. I don't even think Vilgax is bad this season but he definitely is poorly writen here.
So yeah this episode is very bad. Like couldn't they have replaced this with an extra Tetrax episode? That man deserves it.
Oh right Tetrax
Tetrax episode is peak fiction and I don't care about the haters. I'd argue it's one of the best episodes in the series and the fact we never got a follow up is baffling.
For starters Tetrax is Ben's real dad. Let's be real. He fills the same role as grandpa Max and so Ben has the urge to prove himself to him. That's why watching Ben fulfill the propercy of the diamondhead people and save Tetrax's planet is one of the most satisfying moments in the series for me. Tetrax destroyed his planet. He made a huge mistake that Ben could have easily made if he didn't have a mentor figure. And now once he sees he has an opportunity to bring everyone back he goes straight to shattering Ben into pieces with no explanation. (Tetrax pretty much is Ben without grandpa Max if you think about it)
This episode is a meme for the Jesus bits. but it works. It's good lore. And it's a great conclusion to a character arc and storyline.
The fact this episode is a follow up to Tetrax origin and incorporates a new alien into it is really smart. Obviously they didn't plan this at first so it's great when things work out like that.
It works as a Vilgax episode too because we see how big of a threat he is. Everyone's struggling to fight him, even Tetrax and Ben. He's not some pushover as people claim.
But more importantly Ben redeems Tetrax by saving the diamond people and that's something he wouldn't be able to do if he's some dumb kid. Ben is a true hero again in this episode. He sees what the threat is and he solves it with his quick thinking and courage. And I think it's thanks to Tetrax's presence that Ben is back to the more serious role, because he wants to prove himself to him.
(if only Tetrax had a bigger presence)
And now the ending
The ending is what made me want to take a different look at this season before rewatching because I remember how cool the Azmuth and Ben scene was. On a rewatch i was not disappointed.
For starters animation was really good and the fights with Albedo specifically were choreographed well. Kevin and Gwen were even using their powers in a unique way.
Then we have Vilgax weakening Ben by taking away Gwen and Kevin. Seems simple at first, but when you think of the narrative of this season you realise it's about making Ben vulnerable both physically and mentally.
And once Ben loses the Omnitrix he has a full mental breakdown and this entire sequence is one of the best moments in Ben 10 ever. The way he runs off into the forest. The small chat with Gwen. How he begs Azmuth for help. The little mutual understanding at the end of their argument. It's peak fiction at its most peak fictionest.
For the entire season Ben tried to relax, he tried to be more straight forward, not looking for others for help. But now he's back at being the vulnerable kid he was at the start of the entire series. And I think it's not just that he lost his powers that's hurting him, but that he's also taking out all the pressure he had building up inside. And now he's asking for others to help him.
This moment makes this season work for me. We see a deconstruction of sorts of the kind of person Ben is. Not mature or immature. But this kid who wanted validation until the pressure was too much for him. He tried to act cool like nothing happens. But then he messes up and he's the one who needed to be saved.
This emotional moment was what Ben needed to come up with a genius plan. Go to Vilgax's ship and activate the self destruct feature of the Omnitrix. Honestly I forgot about this part on my rewatch so it came out of nowhere for me. Ben making a bomb threat as his great 4d chest move? You just gotta love that. Remember he's got nothing on Vilgax right now. Vilgax can easily kill him. So for Ben to confidently come in and threaten to blow up the Omnitrix, that he cares about too, it takes courage.
If there's one thing I'd change about the ending it's bringing back Tetrax. He seemed like he would be a part of this and it would have probably mad the mental breakdown of Ben Tennyson more impactful if Tetrax was there too. Or maybe I love this minor character a bit too much. Maybe way too much I admit.
Conclusion
For me what sells season 3 of Alien Force is Ben's character downfall that builds up to this ending. It's not just that he becomes dumb and then is told to stop being dumb. It's that he's struggling in the role of hero. He's struggling to be both the serious badass and a goofy kid. And letting go of the responsibility and trying to act normal only created a different kind of pressure.
Ben for me is a character who was forced into a role he wasn't prepared for and we get to watch how that affects him. Naturally he will have shifts in how he acts. His environment will affect his behavior. That's just life. That's what being a teenager is like. You're always gonna be screwing up in one way or another. Ben's flaws in season 3 aren't about him being childish. He's not dumb or less mature. Ben still does smart things and is shown to care about Gwen, Kevin, Julie, Tetrax, and everyone that comes to his aid.
And of course his ideas and actions aren't always good. They can be stupid or selfish. And that's also fine. Because he's only human. And his humanity is what makes him Ben. Take that away and he'd grow up to become the Ben 10k who refused to transform back to human.
Most of this is my interpretation of events. Other people watching will have different takes. And that is fine. I'm fine with knowing I'm like one of 10 people who loves season 3 of alien force. I'm just here to write a different perspective and hopefully it will encourage more deeper readings of Ben 10 as a series. But mostly I'm fine knowing someone else read all this. So thanks for getting this far.
See you next time when I will be breaking down the neoliberalism of shadow the hedgehog the video game.

Do you know why in one databook of naruto Masashi Kishimoto said that the relationshio between orochimaru and anko was intense? And in what page of one of the databook he compares a tecnique like lovers suicide? For me, anko loves him since a long time and orochimaru too but when she grew up! ♡
Here's the link to the first source pace. The pages on Anko are 122-123, where her relationship with Orochimaru is described as intense/ very deep (depending on the translation, but it means the same thing). Page 206 is where the Twin Snakes Mutual Death/ Twin Snake Sacrifice jutsu is compared to a lover's suicide. Here's my post on that, where I cite Narutopedia as my source. I don't own it personally. I can only point to the online sources/ translations.
As to why Kishimoto said that, I can only give you an educated guess. So here goes, I can't see how Anko wouldn't have been in awe of him/ crushing on him big time when she was his student. He was a Sannin, he was still the favourite to succeed the 3rd Hokage at the time, he thought she had incredible potential- short of having a kekkei genkai (the Sharingan is the only reason he gives for Sasuke having more potential than her), the fact he accuses her of being jealous of Sasuke, his intelligence and how (though he held some stuff back) he taught her everything she knows, and how, despite everything, she still copies his behaivours. I mean, if she really hates him that much, you'd think she'd quit waving her tongue around like she idolises him. Not to mention, she still keeps the photo of the two of them together on her headboard. To have someone's photo be the first and last thing you look at each day, they have to be very dear to you. I think she feels a hell of a lot of guilt for the things he did, but he'll always be the only one who means the world to her. No one can take his place.
With Orochimaru, he must have seen her as his "pet." Recall when Sakon reveals his curse mark to Sasuke, he says, "Did you think you were Lord Orochimaru's only pet?" Pawns get experimented on like easily disposable lab rats. Curse marks are reserved for his most valuable pieces. And the Heaven's curse mark is the most powerful of them, which is why he risked it on Sasuke. I would also go further with the snake summoning contract. Orochimaru has (that we know of) initiated only three others into a pact with Ryuchi Cave. Those are Kabuto, his right-hand man; Sasuke, his ideal vessel; and Mitsuki, his child, whom he hopes will be the Moon who aides the Sun in saving the world during the next great conflict. That's a pretty exclusive group, and the snakes are not especially welcoming. He must've had a lot of faith in her and viewed her as a valued apprentice, not simply a student or subordinate. Also, in their team photo, it's just the two of them. She doesn't have teammates till the Chunin exams, when they're required. Jiraiya is not shown with only Minato, but two other students we never see or hear about again. It must've been the two of them for several years and she must've been very important to him. Otherwise, why would he bother?
I get the feeling that there was a Genji/ Murasaki element there (in The Tale of Genji, Murasaki is the young girl he abducts, educating her to be his ideal woman, and eventually marrying her. She remains devoted to him, despite his faithlessness, including a marriage to another woman. She tells him she wants to be nun, but he won't let her, and she dies soon after). Then there's the story that most likely influenced Anko's character and relationship with Orochimaru, The Tale of the Gallant Jiraiya, which the Sannin are based on. Orochimaru is the master of snake magic. He is betrothed to a princess, but she becomes frightened of him as his villainous behaivour worsens. Jiraiya and Tsunade end up rescuing her.

Is it just me or do I have the feeling that Reina would become the next Heihachi if she is left unchecked? I mean sure, she may not pose a threat now as a teenager but if no one bats an eye/humble her she would go down the same path as her father once she grows up. I hope I can be proven wrong and that someone (throwing my dice that is either Lars or Lee) would definitely take notice of her and try to stop her from becoming like the corrupt old man.
It depends how she was raised. I don't think blood you inherit has anything to do with how you turn out as a person, and it would be annoying and worrisome if the games pushed such an angle. She has the potential to master Mishima Ryu since she's inherited lightning, but that's all Heihachi's blood gives her. If she sees Heihachi's footsteps as something to grow into, then she may grow up to be someone unpleasant, but most of Heihachi's more unsavoury exploits are not common knowledge. He was good at presenting himself as charismatic, affable, and philanthropic. So if a child idolises him from a distance, they wouldn't necessarily follow in his bad traits if they want to be like him.
This is why I don't care if people are born 'Mishima' or not. It is their choices that will make them villains or not, and humbling a child who admires her [father] (presumably) will probably only serve to make her double down on the idolising, over treating her with kindness. Corruption isn't in human nature, it is something learned through exposure to cruelty and lack of love.
So, I don't know where they're going to go with this new character, but I hope it's something interesting and not just Mishima blood = magically evil.

anyway for the Fucked Up Fire Nation Royal Family Analysis
i think it’s important to note that this is the last time in her life azula would have supportive adult guidance that wasn’t just flat out abusive, and it’s really sad to see, because she’s… a kid. a fairly normal kid. a mean one, but the reason is equally as sad to see- she idolises her father. she adores him, and kids at that age do imitate the behaviour of adults around them! azula's behaviour is an imitation of her father- she's so young it's almost certainly imitation of someone- and that behaviour is concerning.
she’s violent, callous, and you can already see a burgeoning manipulative streak within her (as much as it’s possible at her age- it’s transparently obvious bc she’s like. five or six years old she’s not really old enough to do it well). but she’s not the monster we‘ll see later on. most obviously, she seems to genuinely love her brother on some really messed up level. she drags him into her “games” (even if they’re basically just bullying) she drags him into her eavesdropping and she does genuinely warn him about the risk to his life- albeit in a cruel way. she wants to be around zuko! she doesn’t have a solid grasp on how to express that at all- since the person she admires and looks up to doesn’t even see her as a person but an extension of his own will- but she does care.
but by the time of the series, we'll see her actively just completely fine with killing her brother. even when she was eleven, she was happy to see his abuse. and the reason why, i think, is probably pretty obvious but also sad as shit and that’s the fact that the prior abuse zuko went through (and therefore, azula experienced by proxy- abusing one child in front of another is threat of harm and therefore abusive in turn) most likely started, or at least intensified, after the flashback seen in this episode.
which also means what we're seeing? the fucking sad scenes of baby zuko? yeah, they’re probably the happiest memories the poor kid had.
but yeah, anyway. while the children's mother was around, they at least had someone looking out for them- someone who would be able to do something to protect them and cares enough to do so. i absolutely think he was abusive before then- the fact azula, who idolises him enough to earnestly hope for him to become the fire lord, mimics abusive behaviour, is sign enough of that. for kids that young, bullying is in fact often an expression of a bad home life, because young children mimic what they were taught. but it had to be subtler, it had to be something that their mother couldn’t pick up on.
but once she was gone? once ozai was the fire lord, and not just a second son, a spare for if the heir were to perish? anyone who cared enough to stop it couldn’t. ozai had enough strength both martial and political it’d be essentially suicide. even iroh couldn’t do anything when zuko at thirteen was mutilated in front of him.
and from what we can gather, it seems a very clear scapegoat- golden child dynamic emerged. zuko was the primary victim of direct abuse, made to feel useless and humiliated for not living up to his sister, while azula grew up being made to watch this, internalising that she was superior to her brother and therefore had to be perfect else she’d meet the same abuse he did. and just. ughhh. poor kids. i mean this absolutely does not excuse either of them especially azula who's pretty clearly abusive towards her polycule but like. they were prisoners inside a gilded cage of a castle and treated like living extensions of a sadistic war criminals will. no wonder they became shitty people (and zuko is trying he's just mentally fucked from the abuse and believes he's the one in the wrong and therefore obsessively clings onto the excuse his father gave for abusing him and tirelessly works to change that into something his father would love because he sees approval and love from his father as a sign he’s doing good because he is sixteen. the latter part about approval applies to azula too but she’s also pretty clearly entirely uncaring about the morality side even if she does admire and love her father)

@arcvmonth Day 5: Action Magic- Overpass
Alright, so I know the Dragon Boys Roleswap Shuffle is a pretty basic AU but I feel like I have an interesting take on it!
For the art today I wanted to draw Fusion!Yuya (hes gotta have some absolutely messed up anglicised name... Eia? Taking suggestions lol) being intimidating during the Xyz war, but it turned into POV: You're getting turned into a card. And stormy ambiance because Winter storms have been pretty crazy over here...
AU thoughts under the cut!
(Quick content warning for mental absue!)
Ive seen a couple of people theorise that Yuya, if roleswapped with Joeri, would still be happy-go-lucky but in a murderous psychopath kinda way. Personaly, I think the opposite.
In my idea of a roleswap, Yuya would be grow up as an orphan, desperately doing whatever he could to eventually get into Academia, which he does around ~10 years old.
Having pretty poor social skills, but still having a positive attitude, he'd make some acquaintances in the first month or so until he catches the attention of Leo Akaba.
Leo, terrified of what Yuya would become, decides to isolate him. While his peers are jealous that he gets special treatment, Yuya is over the moon and starts to see Leo as a father figure and idolises him, following his every move.
Around the same time, Fusion!Yuzu would be taken in Leo as well. Over time, Yuya would see how much better Yuzu would be treated than him, the way Leo doesnt let him too close to his replacement daugter, the hate that would occasionally flash in Leo's eyes when talking to him, and he would start to resent them.
Yuzu's no saint in this AU either, being coddled by Leo so much that she'd view herself above everyone else. She'd figure out how to manipulate Leo into getting whatever she'd want, and rub it in people's faces. She'd act perfect around Leo, but as soon as as shes away from him, she'd demean and undermine the people around her. And Yuya would be her favorite verbal punching bag- as hed also been selected specially by Leo-and save the worst insults for him. She'd probably be known as The Princess of Academia.
With hs confidence beingbeaten down by this version of Yuzu, shunned by his peers who are jealous that he was hand selected by Leo, and just knowing that Leo hates him for a reason he has no idea of, he'd just... mentally shut down. Spiralling into a deep depression.
He would never smile. Barely speak a word outside of duels, which he'd be ruthless in. His eyes would be cold and dead, other than occasionally showing flashes of an intimidating gold.
Of course, even though he knows Leo hates him, hed still do anything for the Professor, in a futile attempt to be loved and accepted by him. Hed be a major player in the war, and hed still kidnap Xyz!Rin and Synchro!Ruri
He'd still be the personality with the most amount of Zarc in him and at the end of the AU, standard!Yuuri would probably show him that he deserves to smile and that no matter what hes faced in the past, there will be people there to support him and be his friends.
After a charater arc duel where he breaks down after defeat and vows to become a better person, Leo would have an angry rant about him being useless tool to the reigime and a worthless demon child that he never should have taken in and expunge him, where then hed fuse with Yuuri.
My thoughts for his deck would be something similar to Sergey's deck, but instead of humanoids theyre animals (like the performapals) in a very old, black and white, rubber-hose style constricted with vines, chains and locks to symbolise a trapped but not lost sense of innocence.
If youve read this far, thank you so much! Let me know-either by dropping me an ask or putting it in the tags- if youd like to see more of this AU, because Boy Howdy have I thought about it In Depth. Thank you for reading!

Heartslabyul with a crush from the Queen of Hearts Era, and has reincarnated into present time? You can make it angst, or hurt comfort!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is probably one of my most favourite requests ever jajdkakssksk <33 thank you again Alex 😎😎💖🌹
I'll do the rest of Heartslabyul soon <3 Check for updates, because tbh I will do each character separately for the fact it gets too long and nobody wants to read long shit unless it's good and enjoyable 😩😩🔫🔫
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🌹
Blood covered the edge of your fingertips, Her Majesty exasperated with utter rage and fury. Cheeks reddened so ripe and red, The Queen Of Hearts screeched from the top of her lungs; And there— you felt your heart drop.
"OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!" She screamed, Cards gathering across the courtroom in defense and your eyes darted all across the room; flight or fight mode activated.
Your injured body scrambled to run, as tears threatened to prick at the side of your eyes. You could feel all eyes watch you gasp from sudden fear as you cry out with your hands swaying side to side; keeping a solid pace for you to outrun the guards yet it wasn't enough . . . — There were so many of them all at once, seizing the exits and loading every door with charcoal and thick doses of some sticky substance to cancel every way out. You could hear her Majesty herself roaring with anger;
"Keep running, little Alice.." The Cheshire chuckled with glee at his nickname given. "Time's running out.. tick, tock, tick—"
The clock chimed.. all movement froze in time; a chill breeze flew past your hair as you felt a warm tear drop spill at the side of your cheek.. You stopped in your tracks, feeling the sharp blade whip around you. Steps padded against the marble floor, chess tiles reflecting your horrid expression as you felt the blade pierce across your throat, blood spilling almost across the entire floor; Head sliced and throat cut perfectly. Cruelty and injustice had never left your head since, and you could never have had a final word..

Riddle ; 🌹
Riddle couldn't believe it at first. He has no clue nor no idea of why you are so hesitant to visit Heartslabyul when you have no problem with visiting other dorms.
To Riddle, this was utter embarrassment, rubbish and beyond anything, disgraceful behaviour to exhibit.
For Riddle Rosehearts takes the utmost pride in being a student who replicates Her Majesty's behaviour and is known to idolise her and her actions. For he did not know what your trauma was, he merely saw it as you being generally scared of him, rather than the Queen. Which was normal, considering the fact his dorm students naturally feared his temper and his power that he possesses within the flick of his staff.
During his meetings, Riddle couldn't concentrate on any speech, and it was really odd behaviour coming from him; simply out of character. And it was merely because he had been building up some sort of anger towards your behaviour.
Not only was you disliking the Queen insulting to the dorm, it was insulting to him. Ever since he had been a child, he had worshipped the Queen Of Hearts since from the very beginning and strives to become a worthy person, ruling his dorm under the neck of his thumb.
But he's not aware of the trauma you possess, the fear you see, ripples of your memory reflecting the Queens anger that had torn you apart ever since. You couldn't recover.. and who would believe you? You were reincarnated into Twisted Wonderland, moments just after your death..
But you weren't just scared of Riddle. You were terrified. Beyond scarred from the depths of your soul, you could see his rage from Floyd teasing him as his face turns red.
Much amusement to other students fills the room at how ridiculous he looked with such a tomato filled face; to you.. it was merely a reflection, a replica, of the Queen who had cut your throat out alive. Who had sliced your head off and commanded your death to be treated cruelly.
What made it fucking worse? The fact people not only idolise her, but they make up her to be some sort of hero! She had given you an injustice that can never be dealt with. You will suffer for it.. perhaps for the rest of your life.
He one day had mustered the courage, after months spent avoiding your eye contact and avoiding you in general in fear of him lashing out on your poor soul. Put simply, he did not want to regret his actions later on, but you knew. You weren't stupid, you knew how he felt and had respected that.
But you never knew if he felt the same way about you.
Afterwards, the young male sighed and folded his arms while looking at you before approaching with a stern face.
You felt your heart thump out of worry.. Why was he approaching you? Did you do something? Oh.. god- no, please no..
" [Name]. Let's have a little talk, shall we? Let's start over."
He held out his hand. You didn't want to accept it.. but you did, to avoid the awkwardness filling the room. His hand was warm.. but his expression was empty. Riddle was the exact counterpart of her Majesty.
"Why do you act strange around me, hm? I had wondered for a while, though I had gained the suspicion that you were just scared of me, though quite a few people are."
He kept poking at you with questions, yet a five second silence after each one as if he had waited for your reply, yet you said nothing. You owe him no explanation, why can't he understand that you were heavily discomforted by the fact the fucking monarch they idolise; is the woman who had you executed and had forced you to see your own body dismembered from your neck.
" Yet, you're beyond terrified of me. You aren't like the rest.. you differ from them, quite clearly. Why must you do this? Speak to me, communication is important."
" I don't want to, Riddle.."
You said softly. You didn't want to start crying.. but you had to tell him something right?
After a pregnant silence filling the room, he sighed and shook his head. "That won't do, [Name]. You have no idea how this impacts me, and I want you to be honest and truthful so both of us may talk this out and get this over and done with."
It's now or never, honestly.. So you spoke.
You explained all of it.. every bloody detail, every horrific experience you felt.
This was all unbelievable to him. And yet, was it though? You came through a portal, a magicless human thrown into an unknown world yet with some resemblance to your Wonderland. You had trouble with Grim, the Headmaster announced you'd be a student here.. and now you're here.
He.. didn't really know what to make of it. Riddle wanted to pat your back but— he assumed you weren't really in the mood to have physical comfort. Riddle isn't the best at comforting.. he was more on the side of punishing, but you had unlocked a softer side of him.. one that Trey, though he may find Riddle soft to him often, could never had seen. His eyebrows were lifted and he had this saddened look on his face.. sympathetic and sorrowful.
He sighed, and whispered an apology in your ear before leaving.
And since then, neither of you had talked. To you, it was weird. He had left after you spilled your heart out.. and suddenly he no longer wants to interact with you!? Nor even give you a glance in the hallway like he usually would?
Suddenly, you find yourself back at your dorm, outside your bedroom laid a soft basket. Typical British sweets, wrapped up peacefully. And a few cookies laid embedded inside. Ones written in soft icing, "Eat Me!" And a colourful drink to wash it down. It was labelled "Drink Me!"
Who.. on earth could have given you this? Grim suggested he'd eat it if you didn't want it, but you frustratedly took it and ate the entire thing playfully in front of him. But the question never left your mind..
.. Weeks had passed by, and every time, you found more baskets laying on your doorstep every day.
"I take it you enjoyed Trey's sweets?" You heard footsteps approaching you, Riddle, who smiled weakly.
You questioned him at first.. but Riddle was always known for not being good with his words but rather his actions. And this was his way of saying that he was utterly regretful of the way he had treated you. You deserved better, had he known sooner; he would've been less judgemental and more considerate to how you had felt..
— Months had passed by? Perhaps..? Riddle had gotten closer to you. And you were more comfortable around him soon after. Riddle had gotten softer, you were more hopeful to the future..
But nevertheless, things were better and your relationship was more healthier.. though you still carried traces of your trauma, you had gotten closer with Ace and Deuce. And your friendship had been better ever since,, though some things may trigger you then and there, the Heartslabyul boys are careful around you and sympathise with you; for you're their favourite little human <3
