Para pejuang #kuelekker Kue lekker adalah model crepe favorit anak-anak jaman tahun 80-90an. Isinya beragam, mulai dari gula pasir, susu coklat kental manis, kacang, keju. Beberapa versi ada yang menggunakan selai nanas atau selai strawberi. Saya adalah salah satu penikmat dan penyuka kue lekker, sejak saya TK sampai sekarang. Setiap kali mudik ke #salatiga selalu saya sempatkan untuk membeli kue lekker Pak Min yang sekarang berjualan di sekitar depan SMA Negeri 1 Salatiga. Beliau adalah langganan saya (ya, benar, sejak TK 😊). Tidak heran kalau beliau masih sangat hapal saya. Dulu saat SMP-SMA, saat beliau masih boleh berjualan di depan kampus Satya Wacana, saya sering nongkrong dulu di lapak beliau sebelum jalan pulang ke rumah. Kue lekker yang lain saya beli saat sarapan di Soto Bokoran di Plampitan, #semarang . kue lekkernya sedikit berbeda versi dengan yang di Salatiga, lebih tebal crepe-nya, tapi rasa isiannya tidak jauh beda. Beliau-beliau ini adalah para pejuang kue lekker yang tidak lekang oleh perubahan jaman. Masih dengan setia menjajakan kue lekker dengan resep dan piranti yang sederhana. Yuk, kita larisin dagangan beliau sembari memanjatkan doa agar beliau semua senantiasa diberikan rahmat sehat dan keluarga mereka dimuliakan Tuhan dengan rizki yang baik, seperti halnya Tuhan memelihara kita. #10 Lesson of the Day

Fed Up

I’m pretty new at my job. I’m not going to go into full on details about the exact problem of my job, but I will say this...I don’t get paid if I don’t work and I”m waiting (not so patiently anymore) for that situation to change!

Well, today, my son got sick. Although he had a short bout of diarrhea and wasn’t “sick, sick”, I became extremely angry at the thought that, not only do I have to worry about my child being sick, but I also have to worry about not getting paid because I had to stay home and care for him.

Don’t get me wrong, I am, in no way, mad that my son was ill. I am mad that everyone in my office, except me, can take a day off; for whatever reason, and still get paid.

Well, my son was feeling better and I went into work...with an attitude. Everyone noticed I had an attitude because I’m a pretty happy person but..not so much today!

After so many people commenting on my “lack of Aja personality” I began to shout “I’m Fed Up”. I was SO fed up with my current job status and I decided to let my supervisor and manager know that I had other options.

I wasn’t lying or trying to make them get off their butts to seal the deal on my job, I was, in truth, letting them know that I know my worth, and I am no longer willing to be in a situation where I had to worry about taking care of a sick child or making money!

“Want for your neighbor what you want for yourself”

I don’t know if that is a Surah in the Quran or a Hadith, but that is a powerful statement. From the statement, we can all gather that with your neighbor you should be the kind of person who is not stingy- physically, mentally or spiritually, and that doing for and looking after your neighbor is essential because how are Don’t you think that one day, they are going to take or to some degree, they just might do you harm in some kind of way!?

Now, I am in no way implying that I would do the people I work with harm. It’s the principle of the matter that I’m talking about! I know you understand what I’m saying.

Anywho, I just wanted to vent today!! LOL I’m good now.

Tighten up that headset! For the past 3 years, I’ve been on the board for @fb4katlanta. We’ve been incredibly fortunate to have such an amazing crew of driven individuals that have one common goal: to get more kids on bikes. We’ve gotten the opportunity to work with all our friends at the local bicycle focused NPO’s like @atlantabike, @sopobikecoop, @wecycleatlanta & @bearingsbike. Work gets so overwhelming sometimes. Tasks build, ideas are revved up, waiting behind the other waiting for it’s time. But to take a single moment out of your day to put your own thoughts and needs aside to make someone else happy is a mental cleanse like no other.
