It's September. In the northern hemisphere, autumn "starts" in 2-3 weeks, though that's using the same metric that says winter "starts" late in December so, yanno. It's not Seasonal Affective Disorder season yet. But it's prepare-for-SAD-season-season, because there are things that make SAD more bearable, but they're much harder to do when you're staring at your clutter and thinking about burning the house down, so here are some things you can do in advance: (I'm absolutely writing this as a to-do list for myself.) Things to acquire: - Anti-SAD prescription, if applicable [If you already have a prescriber they might be willing to start you a prescription now even if they don't have any openings until it's cold and dark.] - SAD lamp/Daylight lamp - Vitamin D supplements (I'm on these year-round, but double the dose from equinox to equinox) - Happy ingredients -- hobby supplies, warm socks, pics of friends, etc. (As a personal reminder, and an example, I need bird seed. Fat birbs are a delight.) - Easy food -- canned soup, granola bars, big ol' jars of peanut butter and jelly and a freezer full of bread, whatever you'll eat when eating feels like too much effort and preparing something is Right Out. Things to do: - Clean house [or hire/bribe/beg someone else to do it] so that it can go a long time with minimal cleaning without becoming a Depression Room. - Ease the load on your memory. Set alarms for your meds, put that weekly Thing as a recurring calendar event, make a list of the groceries you get a lot so you aren't staring at an empty space in the pantry trying to remember what used to be there. Set up auto bill pay if it's financially feasible. - Ease the load on your executive function. Build habits if you can, make to-do lists. If you can convince your brain that Tuesday is for Tacos and Tidying, Saturday is Sandwiches and Sweeping, etc., then you don't have to think/decide about these things. (I need to make a youtube playlist of exercise videos, in order, so I I don't have to fuss about finding suitable ones of sufficient variety once snow starts and I can't go running.) And: Make future plans. Small near-future plans, not just big some-days. I know every two weeks is board game day. In November there's a fall fest and it will have alpacas. It's almost gingerbread season. Culvers will have my favorite flavor on Tuesday. Something worth dragging yourself along for another few days.

Does Birb know Spanish? I can’t fully remember if that was stated or if she’s spoken it? If she hasn’t I can imagine that Wednesday gets pissed at her and starts speaking Spanish angrily with like Enid and Yoko in the room and Birb has no clue what she’s saying.

Or it could be Enid yelling in Greek (headcanon Greek!Enid) and Birb doesn’t know what’s going on. Pretty much like this like Eddie VR segment where they’re like ‘What’s he saying? Tell me what he’s saying? I don’t speak Taco Bell!’

Birb barely knows Spanish because of her Abuelita, and everyone uses it to their advantage. Wednesday absolutely starts speaking in Spanish when she's pissed with Birb, and when the poor thing tries to figure out what she's saying, no one speaks English and she nearly cries because it's too much, she doesn't know what's going on and "Enid please stop speaking 300 I don't understand and I just wanna know why Wednesday is mad at me"

Turns out Wednesday also speaks Spanish when she just wants Birb to think she's mad. It works wonderfully

Rosalie's Birthday - Part 1

The next several weeks were a blur. Work at the art studio had become incredibly busy as of late and Penny was planning a party. A proper birthday party for her daughter. One with no drama. One with no mysterious high school frenemies randomly showing up. One where B didn't covertly threaten to put some people through the wall.

A totally normal birthday party.

B and Ricky showed up early for the party. B Penny had expected, Ricky she had not. He had wanted to spend some one on one time with his daughter before the party. This worked out great for Penny as she hadn't had a chance to talk to B about how dinner with her Parents had been going. She'd suffered through a few more Saturday night dinners, but none had been quite as brutal as taco casserole night was.

"That is wild," B said. "I'm proud of you for going back after that first one, though. Look at you, bad bitch."

Penny laughed. "You were right, they have changed. A little. Not much. Like 10% change. Like season 3 of the show you thought was going to be cancelled changed."

B stared at her. "Alright. Rad. Are they coming today?"

"I didn't invite them directly," Penny said. "They know I'm having you and Ricky over today for Rosie's birthday, but we're supposed to celebrate with the Harper's on Saturday."

"Not ready for them to be in your space?"

"No. Not yet."

Downstairs, Ricky was playing with Rosie. Cartoons babbled in the background as he told his daughter silly jokes. Rosie giggled to the point of screaming. She thought her father was too funny. He was made funnier by the fact she rarely got to see him.

"Knock knock."

"Who there?"

"Who."

"Who who?"

"Who who? Are you an owl, Rosie?" Ricky tickled his daughter.

Rosie sat back thoughtfully. "Not owl. Gramma says I'm dove. I'm not birb. I'm Rosie."

"Rosie, Rosie, sitting in posies, how does your garden grow?" Ricky sang. "With silver bells and cockle shells...."

♪ in this au,bow and bot are twin ghost that are stuck on the purgatory mansion. With a whole lot of nothing to do. Luckily tho,it's not too boring as the me phone4s and his bro have this whole competition stuff going on. But ehhh,it is still boooring... but one day, when bot was lazily floating around the mansion,they found an abandoned secret lab underground. And found many blueprints for stuff!!! It's pretty complicated. But seeing that they are literally dying from boredom. They just kinda suck it up and get right to it. Making phones,wifi, an e girl computer And after some more experiments to understand these stuff,They started to experimenting new thing.. Making. A robot body. Something to possess and let them get out of this cursed mansion.. And they did it!!! They can actually be free!!! Even with.. A "small" problems. it is that bot spirits seems to be.. Stuck into their robot body even tho bow can easily get out of it and get back in since bot body was honesty the first protpotype they made.. They currently have no idea how to fix it nor how would bot being killed will effect them.. Would they be fine and get revived back like a normal contestants? Or would they be.. Just gone after that permanent kills..? No one knows yet,but bow seems to be very protective of bot because of that...

A visit to the doctor's office earlier this week convinced me to start cooking more meals at home as opposed to going to restaurants,  even when I have places to go on certain days. I thought that before heading to a game shop for a session of Curse of Strahd I'd try making tacos.  I made these with heated canned salmon, heated black beans, avocado slices, reduced-fat feta cheese, ranch yogurt dressing, and whole-wheat tortillas.   They turned out well for very basic tacos.

PENGEE'S COMMENTARY:  If cooking at home more often means sharing more seafood with me, then I'm all for following doctor's orders!
