Let’s start with the Natm ones!!!

First thing first, two funny drawings xD Al messing up with Ivan by playing the rasputin song on loop!

And one friend (who cannot see this because she doesn’t have tumblr) asked me during a break to draw Octavius as a fairy— A ✨Winx✨ for the fellow Europeans kdbdkd, and Jedediah as Pikachu XD

Charlie Cox stories rant

I love Matt Murdock, don't get me wrong, but most stories for Charlie Cox characters are Matt Murdock. I just wanna see some of his other characters getting more stories, Michael Kinsella is the next popular then after that it fades, it is like people only think Charlie Cox has just played Matt Murdock and not anyone else. I wanna see more stories with Tristan Thorn (Stardust), Owen Sleater (Boardwalk Empire), Adam Lawrence (Treason), Giovanni Bruni (Casanova), etc. and not just Matt Murdock. OC Stuff - BKW - Kisyku & Roombot

This is Kisyku!! (That's "Kiss-eye-coo" ^^,)

He's my main OC for a space story I've been working on, Bodacious Kisyku World (BKW for short). I've had this character for like.. 7-8 years now?? He's gone through so many changes and iterations, but I'm really happy with where he is now. ^^

Kisyku is a Celestial! They're a powerful species with the ability to channel something called "Cosmic Energy," which is sort of this universe's like "energy" you know the whole shonen thing

Cosmic Energy

Cosmic Energy is channeling the vacuum of space into a combustible dense "liquid" like blob. Think of their appearance like the dream blocks from Celeste, except you can sling it. Kisyku's main form of attack involves slinging this explosive space jelly around. CE also is used to sponge damage to his body among other things.

Channeling and using Cosmic Energy is incredibly dangerous though, so not many people can use it (like humans can't at all for example), so it's a pretty forgotten/unknown thing in the present day.

But Celestials are VERY good at it, like dangerously so.. the story mainly revolves around Kisyku's usage of it, and how he tends to push the limits to dangerous degrees..

Okay NOW Kisyku and Roombot!!

Yeah so Kisyku is a Celestial!! They're a pretty complicated species.. supposedly they can just take on any form they'd like, but Kisyku likes to keep it simple and just appear as human.

I think he messed up a few things though, like he's got pointy Hylian-like ears for one. Just a couple of small quirks like that. So he's not 100% human, but that's ok I still love him, he's doing his best.

I think it's very important to mention that he just has this transmasc energy to him though, I don't really know how to describe it. In earlier versions of the story, when he was just a normal human, he actually was trans. I wanted to keep that element of him in the modern story, by having the transness be more metaphorical through the way Celestials work. That will probably make more sense when I eventually get the official story rolling, but for now just know that he's this transmasc-energy little gremlin.

Despite his size (an outstanding 5'3"!!) Kisyku is a pretty loud, active, and rambunctious character. He's a little scrunkly who can get kinda cocky at times, but overall his heart is in the right place. He can be rather sweet at times, as long as you aren't trying to pick a fight with him.. or commenting on his height.

He also is totally that kind of person who will steal snacks from your fridge, i wouldn't be surprised if he does that a lot with the Brigade

Kisk spends most of his time chilling on Earth. He resides on the dock of a small n' quiet beach-side town. He also enjoys bothering his rent-debt collector, Emily. I'll share more about her and Earth another time though. All you need to know is that he's constantly in debt to her.

He really enjoys watching the waves of the shore sway, among other things as he explores more of the town and it's boardwalk and stuff. It's nice after all to have some quiet time in between the crazy action and antics he gets himself into.

Speaking of...

Outside of Earth-rest stuff, Kisyku likes going out into space and raiding the Cosmos. I like to call these hit and runs of his "rampages," as he seems to have this goal to cause as much destruction to the Cosmos as possible.

The animatic above is a little outdated with the Cosmo designs, but it gives you a good idea of the rush Kisyku throws himself into. In the animatic, they appear as this evil Star Wars-like space empire, but in the current story, Cosmos are very much different. Now they're kind of a secret "shadow police" that only Kisyku really knows about...

He seems to have beef with them, and they don't really like him either... maybe one day you'll learn about why...

But yeah finally, his little companion pal: Roombot. They're like an actual cat.. if it were a roomba.. and can fly.

It's kinda bitchy, sometimes snarky towards Kisyku. You won't really be able to hear their vulgar language though, since they speak in R2-D2 beep boops and whirrs.

Kisyku talks to them a lot though, and sometimes Roomboot puts the snark aside to really listen to him, especially for more emotional moments. They're kind of who Kisyku comes to the most about his problems in the early parts of the story.

Yeah, Roombot is rather silly. They can also float, and Kisyku can grab onto them to get some extra height. Kisyku also sometimes uses them as a stepping stool, but I don't think they really like it when he does.

Holding Roombot feels very buoyant, like as if you were holding onto a paddle board in a pool y'know? That kinda vibe. Despite not always enjoying it, they're always there to help Kisyku out in a pickle!!

But uhhh yeah!! That's Kisyku (and Roombot)!! Kisk really means a lot to me, since he's been around for so so long in my life now. I hope that someday I can really get his story out there for you all to enjoy haha.. but until then, I hope you enjoy the drawings I make of him and his world!!

boardwalk empire fanfic recs pls

Oh man, there are seriously so many talented writers in this fandom considering how small it is. I go back and read these over and over again. Most are soulmates (Charlie/Meyer) centric, but I can recommend a few that aren’t.

First, I’m going to take a minute to peddle my own wares because I write fic, too.

Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by @portiaadams is far and away my favorite fic in the fandom (and I’m not just saying that because I consult on it). Her OC, Clara Thompson (Nucky’s daughter) is nuanced, dynamic and flawed and the historical details are so well researched sometimes I forget it’s not actually canon. The main pairing is Richard Harrow/OC but there are a lot of fantastic Charlie/Meyer moments in the sequel, Hand in Hand to Hell.

@fancykraken writes really emotionally charged (devastating) Charlie/Meyer one shots. My favorites are The Right Time for Kissing and Sweet Mistake.

Then there are the OGs, the ones us newcomers owe so much to. They set the bar so high, it’s honestly a really intimidating standard to meet.

I want to kill me a giant man Gen one shot that explores the dynamic between Meyer and Jimmy.

you’ll rise up easy on that day Another great gen fic that features an insight into what Jimmy’s working relationship with the New York boys might have looked like.

And Only Us by @goatsandgangsters. Do you want season five angst with a dash of caretaking and two rotten people saying I love you without actually saying I love you? Read this.

our fears had no teeth Old men cuddling in Cuba. A sequel to hope from every small disaster, based on the actual account of when Charlie first arrived in Cuba after his prison sentence.

beg dead trees for money next by @meyerlansky. Oh the pining. Oh the emotions around Charlie’s release from Hampton Farms. Oh my heart.

when Rome’s in ruins This was the version of The Ride we deserved between seasons 4 and 5. This is canon as far as I’m concerned.

for those who are about to die I’m a sucker for an afterlife au.

the Dawning of the World might be my favorite Charlie/Meyer fic ever. The dialogue is spot on and it does such an incredible job capturing Charlie and Meyer’s relationship throughout their lives together.

Search out the rest of the Boardwalk fics by any of the authors mentioned above for yourself, too. They will blow you away, for real. I also recommend reading anything by RuBecSo and therestisdetail.

Summary:  Even in the short amount of time it’s been since Amelia moved to the city, she’s heard all sorts of stories about them. The Peaky Blinders. More than half of the stories, she suspects, are wildly exaggerated and  little more than idle gossip traded when people are well into their cups. Even so, she made a promise to herself to stay away from men who looked like trouble, especially after the last time, and if anyone in this dreary city was trouble, it was them.

“How did you manage to get Michael free?”

This isn’t a conversation she wants to have, especially with Tommy. In all honesty, she had been hoping to get out of this mess without someone asking that, but she knew that wasn’t going to happen. 

“I didn’t do anything. I just know some powerful people who know even more powerful people. The favour just went all the way down the line to whoever had the power to let him go, that’s all.”

“And what do you have to do in return?”

That’s the question, isn’t it? Amelia doesn’t know. If he’s feeling particularly forgiving, then it won’t cost anything. But she knows him, and how his mind operates. He’ll be calling back soon, and what he’ll ask for might be something more than she can give. If that’s the case, he’ll take his payment in blood. 

“I don’t know. He said he’ll be in touch.”

“Let me know what it is. If I can help-”

“I appreciate the offer, Thomas, but this isn’t anything to do with you. This is family business.”

After a pause, he concedes and turns the conversation to the plans for Epsom, offering a distraction she takes gratefully. 

“You’re sure this is going to work?”

“It should.”

“If it doesn’t?”

She takes the piece of paper he slides across the table, already sealed in an envelope addressed to someone at The New York Times. 

“If it doesn’t, I want you to send this letter out.”

“What is it?”

“Insurance.”

If there’s one thing, one among many, that Amelia hates about Tommy, it’s the way she can’t read him at all. Everyone else, their emotions and reactions are held on their faces whether they know it or not, but there’s nothing for her to see when she looks at him. She wonders if this is how people feel when they look at her to try and gauge her reaction to anything. 

She pulls a similar envelope out of her purse and hands it to him. 

“A trade, then. If you don’t make it, I’ll send yours. If you do, and I don’t, then you give this to Ollie for me.”

“Is that a possibility?”

“With the people we work with? Every day. Tommy?”

He looks at her with that blank stare. 

“Be careful. I think I’d miss you if you weren’t around. You’re not so bad.”

It’s not a smile, but it’s getting closer.

“You’re tolerable.”

The sound of the phone ringing sends a bolt of dread right through her. 

“Hello?”

“I hear you’re getting married soon.”

She doesn’t know which of her brothers let the news slip, or if he’s done his research and had people looking into what she’s been doing since she left the country. 

“I am. Sorry I never sent you and Caroline an invitation, but we’re keeping it small.”

Silently, she curses herself. She should’ve sent an invitation anyway, to avoid any hurt feelings. It's too late now. 

“Will your brothers be there?”

“They will. I didn’t want it to happen unless they could be here.”

That was one of the first things she said to Ollie when he’d proposed. They hadn’t attended her first wedding, because they absolutely hated the fact that it was happening at all, and she promised herself that she wouldn’t do it again without them by her side. 

“It sounds like you’ve made a good life for yourself over there.”

“Can we skip the small talk? I know you’re going to ask me for something, in return for the favour I asked from you, so can you just ask?”

“Apparently your time abroad hasn’t improved your manners.”

“AR.”

She can picture the flash of annoyance on his face, for all the times she's seen it before. Normally, she would’ve let him take the conversation on whatever tangent he liked, smiling and laughing in all the right places, but she can’t be bothered with the song and dance. The past few days have been exhausting, and she wants this phone call over and done with. 

“Your brothers will be there next week?”

“Yes.”

“In return for what I’ve done for you, I want you to get them to sign the business over to me. Everything.”

It takes everything in her to keep the receiver in her hand. 

“I can’t do that. We’ve worked all our lives to get to where we are now, they’ll never-”

“They’ll listen to you. I know you can talk them around, if you put your mind to it.”

“And if I don’t?”

“Careful, Amelia. There’s too many people you love to talk like that.”

Sadie - 7/10. I like this name but it was common here in the 60s-ish so I just imagine a middle aged woman with this name, lol.

Gillian - 7/10. Gillian from Boardwalk Empire was an interesting and tragic character. Super messed up but also worthy of much pity.

Denise - 6/10. Same with Sadie, it just makes me think of a middle aged woman.

Alastair - 9/10. I really like this name. Don't know any characters with it.

Azumi - 7/10. Not sure on the proper pronunciation, but I like it.
