This might look familiar to the locals. It's Silverwood Lake! This lovely original painting is by our very own @jacobasweet who painted this pleinaire on location, braving the wind and all lol Dm to hold, buy and pickup! Now, how about some history! Did you know Silverwood is a man-made reservoir? Did you know there's a town on the bottom? Silverwood was made in 1971 as part of the State Water Project. The Sawpit Canyon area was home to the small town of Cedar Springs. If you ever wondered where the Cedar Springs dam got it's name, it's from the town now below the waters. Now, of course, it's a recreational area. You can still hike the many trails of Sawpit Canyon, and the Pacific Coast Trail and observe the wildlife that call this new landscape home. You are literally the only other person I have EVER seen mention The Fulcrum holy shit. I love that story. I love Ichor Falls: A Visitor's Guide in general. I wish more people knew Straub's work outside of like Candle Cove and Local 58. But like I think the way that story builds tension with the long ass sentence is really fun!

the fulcrum is a memorable one bc i think it just about straddles the line between pulling it off and sounding a little silly, which probably comes from the very early reddit nosleep quality it has and the anticlimax of its ending, but ultimately it ends up working pretty well i gotta say. it was definitely one of the best examples of format screw/memetic hazard-type creepypasta stories out there. i personally keep coming back to ichor falls for another story, excerpts from a room at cedarspring, which i don't think would be terribly surprising if you know my love for horror about Places Gone Wrong lol

Ok more backstory, Sootthroat and Cedarspring were born in different clans, Sootthroat’s dad (Shinestar) is the leader of his clan, while Cedar’s mum (Sunclaw) is the deputy of his clan.

Sun and Cedar don’t get along because they are so similar (she also manipulated the cats around her) so when Cedar and Soot officially became mates much to the chagrin of literally everyone because they are breaking the code but neither of them cared, Cedar dipped from his own clan and went to Soot’s clan, taking his siblings with him (Talonpaw, Sparkpaw, Barkpaw and Cricketpaw). The only reason that Shinestar let them into the clan is because Cedar basically threatened him.

In the past there was a dog that got loose and attacked some cats and a rumour went around that it was Cedar and that he has more dogs somewhere that he could use. No one knows for sure if it’s true but Shinestar didn’t want to risk it, so he let his sons mate and siblings join his clan, as well as make one of the siblings a medicine cat apprentice.

Anytime Shine try’s to argue with Cedar, Cedar just goes ‘No <3’ and leaves Shine confused.
