Champ!Hop au but its after Darkest Day and it's only because both Leon and Glo/Fio are physically unable to battle - to battle at all. maybe Raihan stepped up to the plate, but Hop's beaten him once and he's able to beat him again after going through the finals (that Hop was not expecting to win-) So Hop is champion but now with like. dignity and doing it because seemingly no one else can at that time. He's not cocky like he was at the start. he prolly doesnt even do all the flash and flair like he always dreamed/saw Lee do. He only does it for his family and to continue being a becon for Galar's strength

He's all cold out in public now. doesn't smile as much cause most of the time when he's not doing champ work he's with Leon or Fiona and he just sees how sick they are. He works double time cause he's a sword without a shield (Fiona ((& Leon)) is still alive they're just like. real sick.)

She is Gloria the brute! Unlike her Pokemon spirit, she knows her power can create terror amongst the people and uses it to scare people away of her domain! But not every human can be so easily scared, especially if it’s a monarch that has no thoughts to begin with-

this is a lot further along the plot line but Ash doesn’t stay in Alola, despite becoming the first Champion of the islands, and he especially doesn’t stay working at the school. he still very much has his wandering spirit and therefore goes to Galar right afterwards. 

Ash doesn’t become a research assistant for Professor Cerise, instead leaning more into his missions and just kind of wandering around the world, so Oak takes it upon himself to offer Ash up as some kind of assistant to the Professor’s actual assistants. so now sometimes Ash gets guilted into accompany Goh and Chloe-who takes his spot in the au and does school online-around the world as come kind of babysitter and he hates it for the first few times but he also gets it. 

Chloe is Professor Cerise’s daughter and the man didn’t want to impose on Ash but he also had heard stories, the kind that have bad men stiffening at Ash’s name or at a distant cry of a Pikachu, and even though he’s shaking in his shoes he still ask’s Ash to watch over his little girl. Goh’s just a part of the deal and reminds him to much of Gary when he was the same age. 

*Goh and Chloe are 10/11 and Ash is about 23 and a half when first approached by Cerise. 

it’s not like he’s around them all the time. most of their jobs are in Kanto and Johto and it’s good that the kids are traveling but not to far from their parents. Goh seems to be fine for the most part, besides interacting with people in the more western regions like Sinnoh and Kalos where he fails terribly, but Chloe is to stiff and awkward talking to anyone. she’s not used to being away from home and even though this is an amazing opportunity her dad gave her-based on her grades and knowledge and not the fact that she is his daughter-it still scares her shitless. 

Ash understands the feeling, truly he does. Pallet Town is a very heavily populated with Unovian families and it changed everything about the town so when he and Pikachu left it felt like their own region was a whole knew world. even if Delia tried her best to keep to Kanto traditions alive in their household. so he’s gentle with her while sarcastic with Goh. unknowingly giving what each kid needs to grow and prosper. 

this also naturally leads to Ash stumbling into Hop and Marnie or the other way around, really. I’m not joking. Those two stumbled across Ash as he was about to descend upon a building of Team Rocket members trying to set up in Galar, he had to shove the bloodthirst deep into himself since he recognizes Hop as Leons little brother and that would cause such a mess if those two saw him kill a bunch of grown men. Hop doesn’t trust him at first but Marnie immediately latches herself to the big scary emo fucker and tried to “kidnap” Ash or try and bribe him to come with her on her journey. it obviously doesn’t work but he keeps running into them over and over again whenever he’s in the region. 

which it’s a lot since the INL is slowly starting to crack down on Rose, after years of intel missions and figuring out why the Chairmen needs a something-billion vault built under the Hammerlocke gym. this also leads to Ash interacting with Bede. he doesn’t know how to interact with the blonde besides really sarcastic and targeted insults after Bede tried to call him useless or something along the lines. he reminds Ash a lot of Trip and it’s like a hair-trigger for him but somehow Ash doesn’t end up with Bede’s spine in his hands by the end of every interaction. it does change after Bede is misled by Oleana and Rose in destroying the mural and Ash feels some kind of morbid sense of guilt and understanding with the blonde so he takes him in. until Opal claims him though he’s now Ash’s little brother like how Dawn is his little sister. 

yes, it does mean that Ash takes Bede back with him to Sinnoh and Rowan can do nothing but just groan and sigh heavily into his cup. telling Ash that the kid sleeps in his room if he’s staying then takes Ingo and Gary to go get a whole new set of bedroom shit after cleaning out a room across the hall from the other three kids rooms while Ash and Dawn walks the kid through the Sandgem town. just filling the space with sibling banter as Bede stays silent and just watches how they interact. 

Bede does come back with Ash to Galar after Rose is taken into custody. mostly for statements and recounts-the destroyed mural is easily swept under the rug-and where Opal kind of kidnaps the kid. Ash doesn’t mind but does warn the woman that he’s apart of the Rowan family and needs contact with his new parents or so help Ash her umbrella will clash with his bat- 

even later on in the timeline Cavell reaches out to Ash about three particular students that could use his help-Kukui had absolutely bragged about Ash when he was the Professor’s TA to his colleagues across the world-and Ash is soon swept up. now more of a teacher then a teacher assistant to Arven, Nemona and Penny.

Charizard shields them from the blast of energy. While Leon's back is turned, his skin is burned by the blast of course, but it's accompanied by a small concentration of an Eternabeam as Eternatus prepares to ascend to his Max form...

Guess who’s a dumb idiot that stayed up all night and now has a fever!

Anyways let’s talk a new Pokémon swsh au, working title is ‘the eccentric Dr. Morning’

Starts off with the real reason Vic’s dad, one Dr. Issac Morning, isn’t in the picture is because he was murder for finding out some things he wasn’t supposed to while doing research on Galar and it’s history. Chairman Rose insisted it were a simple unfortunate accident. Victor never bought that.

So when he joins the championship, he starts poking around on the side. And he starts finding things.

Half way through the tourney, Vic nearly gets murdered though is wounded. He claims it was just a freak accident and quietly drops out as a challenger, though he still completes all the gyms.

Hop is understandably upset by this and they end up having a fight. Hop goes on to totally sweep the championship, though wish his best friend were by his side, they haven’t spoken since the earlier fight.

He’s even more upset, however, to discover that after congratulating hop on his win, Vic seems to drop off the face of the earth. Not even his cousin Gloria can reach him. Deep down, he feels extremely guilty for this, blaming it on the fight they had.

Victor also feels extremely guilty, knowing that if he told hop anything of what really made him drop out and leave town, hop could face the same fate as Issac.

There’s a two year time skip

Hop is now 18, the fully embraced champion of Galar. He’s still reeling from the loss of his best friend, but he’s managed to hold together pretty well.

That is, until a young man in a red hoodie and black face mask privately challenges him to a battle, asking that, should hop lose, he’d grant the man anything he asked. Intrigued by the terms, hop agrees. The rules are simple, you can only use your starter. For hop this is his Cinderace. Hop’s all relaxed until the masked stranger sends out Inteleon.

The match is over nearly as soon as it starts.

The man asks that hop join him at his caravan for only an hour. He promises that will be enough for hop to understand.

Again terribly intrigued, hop joins the man, whose name he does not know and face he has not seen, at his camp. Were I a horror writer that would be the end of it, but alas I am but a humble bard in search of a good story.

Nay, the stranger tells hop that he needs his help. Insisting that a darkness is coming to Galar, like the old legends. Hop’s just not buying it and he goes to leave. Out of options, the stranger tries one last time.

“Please, Hop, for me?”

The champion freezes, wurling around to face the man. He’d taken off the hat and mask. Staring at hop with pleading red eyes.

Victor Adrian Morning had been gone without so much as a damn trace, yet here he stood, fiddling with his dynamax band. Hop’s very best friend in the whole wide world was back and begging for his help.

Hop hardly spares a moment of thought before he throws his arms around Victor. For his own part, vic starts apologizing for leaving, damn near tears. It’s all very emotional.

A howl pulls them back to reality. Zacian gives hop an appraising once over, giving Vic what looks an awful lot like an approving nod.

Vic reaches out a strokes the wolf Pokémon’s soft blue fur. He looks up at hop.

“Well, what do you say? Wanna help us save the world?”

Of course, there is no sword without his shield.

Fallen Monarch- Base Reference

Leon’s size is something that’s constantly fluctuating due to all the dynamax energy being crammed into his body, but this is roughly* the most consistent size he can maintain.

Funfact, the pink highlights in Leon’s hair aren’t actually pink, their white. They look pink because of the dynamax. The human body isn’t really designed to be constantly shifting sizes, even with the durability of most humans of PokeEarth.

Hop’s sleeve is torn from when Eternatus overloaded his dynamax band and Leon ripped it and his sleeve off in a panic.

And the current monarch Leon vanished #So since no one defeated him there’s no one to be the next monarch? So his brother Hop has to take the Aegislash and look for Leon #Hop and protagonist are looking for clues for why Leon disappeared but blah blah Hop eventually also becomes corrupted by the Aegislash #And eventually it turns out that this evil Aegislash has been secretly in charge for centuries and has been causing wars or something #It’s just been trying to make the galar region as miserable as possible because ghost types feed off of negative emotions or something #I don’t remember. I also have an idea for an AU. Hop is attacked and dies before he can become a trainer, and wakes up in a very different Galar. Sonia is champion, Leon is the assistant to professor magnolia . Opal is already retired and bede is gym leader for his first league. Oh, and Gloria is rose's helper. The only way for hop to get home like nothing happened is to help Marnie become champion. Oh yeah, hop is Marnies Morpeko

First things first:

This idea is great. I won't denie this. But man. This had some really big Angst potential.

Imagine being Hop, being thrown into a world without him. In a world where everyone seems to be happy. Especially his brother who doesn't even miss him. (not that he could)

Also, I want to think that this world is really different story wise.

Leon didn't need to be an overachiever for Hop. Didn't need to be undefeated and a knight in shiny armor. He could have been just himself and take a few steps back. Hence why he became an pokemon professor.

With Leon out of the way, Sonja had no issues with becoming the champion. The thing is that she undoubtedly has the majority of the braincells. So it was a lot harder for rose to manipulate her /do stuff behind her back.

Hence why bede was adopted by Opal sooner and why Spikemuth got a lot more fundings and didn't fall to the state it was in before.

This led for both of the rivals to lead an way happier life.

Gloria did not have such an good luck. She was an outsider and was bullied by the other children. She was all alone, till Rose found her when he was visiting Magnolia. (he was trying to get her to control her granddaughter).

Glorias state really led to Hop despairing. This was his best friend. Or she was supposed to be. He would always try to push her to marnie, to make them become friends. It never worked. It was Bede who punched some sense into her.

But there are also some other things.

It would be a lot easier for Hop to have Marnie have the ability to understand him. Otherwise he would just go insane.

Whilst she really didn't believe him and was unsure if she was going insane at first, they did become close soon after.

Cause Hop is still an sunshine, even in this situation and Marnie is still an shy bean in this au.

And Marnie really wants to help him. It scares her that such a thing could really happen and she really wants to bring him back to his own universe.

But neither have the slightes idea how they are supposed to do this.

They decided to go on the challenger journey, so that they could get more influence and information.

Soon they gain more friends and even people they could confide in.

(I was thinking about Allister, who sees Hop as an ghost, Bede, who lived around fairy pokemon enough to know that things aren't as they seem, Raihan, who has all the knowledge about the history of galar and dragon pokemon, Piers, cause marnie wouldn't keep secrets from him.)
