#cheetah wonder woman 1984
Sapphic September prompt 24- "Don't stop."
Barbara Minerva/Reader
WC: 830 ish (how??? This feels like 500)
Contains: domestic fluff but not a confirmed relationship, typical 1980s fear to confess as a woman to your friend (a woman) that ur in love w her, dancing in the kitchen <3, meal mention but food is not described, pre movie (ww1984)
Type: domestic fluff, wlw/nblw
AN: a dancing in the kitchen moment hello!!!! That is all <3
Summary: During dinner, a waltz comes on and Barbara insists she and Reader dance to it... will the mutual secret come out?
                                   ~-*-~
Dinner with Barbara was something you always looked forward to. When your schedules aligned (yours was frequently empty but you couldn't be sure about hers), one of you would ask to meet for dinner and you two would get together and recap the last few weeks since you'd last had a chance to chat.
You took turns choosing the restaurant, and paying. This time was Barbara's turn.
"Let's... meet at my place," she suggested.
You couldn't help but be surprised. You'd never seen where each other lived, let alone had dinner so privately. But you were excited and eagerly agreed.
"Should I bring anything?"
"Dessert, maybe? Something cold."
"Ice cream?"
"Sure," she nodded.
You couldn't help but let your mind wonder throughout the week, wondering what her apartment would be like. How did she decorate? Does she have any family photos? What kinds of conversations would you have in such an intimate setting?
Would you finally ask if you shared the same secret? Surely you should wait a little longer.
You showed up to her apartment with the ice cream, smiling as she opened the door.
Whatever she was cooking smelled delicious, and you commented so.
"Oh, it's just... something I throw together. A family recipe."
"My compliments to your family, then," you said and followed her to the kitchen to put the ice cream away for later.
You made small talk in the kitchen waiting for dinner to be done. Thankfully it wasn't long.
Soon enough, you were sat across from her at the table and looking at your plates, excited to dig in.
It didn't take many bites to be certain she was a wonderful cook. The meal was perfect for the chilly evening.
You noticed a candle on a shelf behind her.
"It's almost as if we should light the candle," you teased. "I wonder if you have any classical piano music for background ambiance."
She looked surprised. You over-did it, dummy! You thought as the seconds dragged on to an eternity. Then she surprised you and agreed, gesturing toward her record player as she got the candle set.
You went over to her vinyls and chose one that seemed to be piano music. You were thankful you were right about your selection as pleasant music floated from the speaker. You returned to the table and sat together quietly as you ate, listening to the piano music play.
A song started that wasn't any different to you, but after a moment of hesitation, Barbara stood and offered you her hand.
You smiled and frowned, confused.
"It's a waltz, Y/n," she said.
"I'm... I dont know how to waltz."
"It's easy- I'll teach you!"
You decided to take her hand and she place your hand on her shoulder and the other in her hand, the place her other hand around your waist.
You knew you were blushing and your heart was pounding, but you still heard the music over the blood rushing in your ears.
"Like this, follow my steps," she instructed, her voice quiet.
You did your best, feet following hers. It was scary to trust her lead, but eventually you fell into step with her.
The song ended but she hurried over to the player and managed to find the start of the song again and hurried back to you, her hand once again on your waist.
You hadn't noticed how much your body had relaxed into her touch until she returned. The positions felt natural.
You hadn't spoken since you'd gotten the hang of the steps. It was comfortable.
You had to admit, you hadn't imagined ever dancing with a woman like this. Maybe a man, one day, as expected of you.
But this was so much more natural.
The song ended again, but your grip tightened on her hand.
"Don't stop," you whispered. Even if the next song wasn't quite a waltz, you didn't want her to let go, and you didn't want to let go of her.
The next song played and it was much more romantic. She had been right to be afraid.
She stiffened a little as it started, glancing around the apartment.
The blinds were closed. It was just you two.
You took a risk and rested your head against her collarbone. She inhaled sharply, but then her arm moved across your waist and her hand was up by your ribs, closing the distance between your bodies.
The steps became more of a sway as your bodies were up against each other. Her cheek was against your head, and you relaxed.
You were safe. Neither of you had said anything, but this wasn't something just friends would do- you were certain. It was terrifying if the blinds were up by an inch.
But they weren't. It was just you and Barbara, and the piano playing from the record player.
Maybe you wouldn't really share the secret out loud. Maybe you would just keep it to yourselves. But in this moment, you didn't worry about it.

I wanted to do a Cheetah redesign to go with my Wonder Woman design. I’d really like to try to tackle more redesigns of her rogues gallery, so let me know if there’s any particular baddies you’d like to see!
If I was in charge of a Wonder Woman animated series, her villains would definitely have a Sailor Moon villain kind of flair to the designs. I had so much fun with her cheetah design, taking cues from movie werewolf looks funnily enough (down to the mallen streaks in her hair)

Wonder Woman has a pretty good rogues gallery and they're barely known outside of the comics is because they've never had a great showcase. Most people can only name Batman villains because they've been making shows and movies featuring them since the 60s. Wonder Woman's villains have never enjoyed the same kind of mainstream media exposure. The Lynda Carter series was a big success and remains popular to this day, but it never used any of her comic villains.
At best you'll see the likes of Cheetah, Giganta and Doctor Psycho pop up as supporting characters on animated shows like Super Friends, Justice League, and Harley Quinn, but there's never be a show devoted to put them front and centre and against Wonder Woman herself. The movies really should've made up for this, but both seriously failed their villains. Ares shows up too late to really have any presence in the first film and ends up just a generic end of level boss for Diana to fight. And WW84 has Cheetah play second fiddle to bloody Maxwell Lord and lumbers her with a recycle plotline from Batman Returns.
This is why there is such a strong demand amongst fans for an Wonder Woman animated series, so that these characters can have a decent showcase.

The tradition seems to be to include propaganda under the cut so…
Tumblr media
The plot of this one is essentially that Superman becomes a benevolent dictator my imposing his will on the United Nations and forcing a nuclear disarmament, leading to the various countries of the world going to Lex Luthor behind each other’s backs so they can ask him for some nukes.
¡Don’t worry, though! Lex manages to trick Superman into throwing a Super Special Science Nuke into the sun, which creates Nuclear Man, a guy with all of Superman’s abilities and also magic fingernails that almost kill Clark by lightly scratching him.
Clark recovers from this using vaguely defined Kryptonian technology. He also rebuilds the Great Wall of China when it gets wrecked with magic. Then he somehow deduces that Nuclear Man’s weakness is the shade, traps him in an elevator, and executes him in a nuclear power plant. The final scene is him giving a speech to the people of Earth telling them that there will be world peace someday, but only when they “want it enough”.
¡Also featuring Lex Luthor’s annoying nephew who somehow defeats two prison guards using his convertible’s surround sound, sitcom hijinks with that whole “two appointments at the same time” schtick, and Superman’s invincible hair getting cut by a pair of gardening pliers!
Tumblr media
This one is about Wonder Woman finding a magic wishing rock that brings her boyfriend back from the dead before falling into the hands of Pedro Pascal as Brown Trump on crack. Hijinks ensue.
Diana inexplicably develops the ability to fly, turn things invisible, and swing around on bolts of lightning with her lasso like she’s Tarzan. There’s a goofy scientist lady who obviously wants to fuck her that turns into a cheetah furry. Brown Trump convinces Ronald Reagan to let him use a satellite so he can touch everyone on the planet at once. Wonder Woman SAs a guy who’s being possessed by the ghost of Steve. The climax hinges on every single person on Earth making a wish and then instantly regretting it so much that they renounce it. Nobody remembers any of this ever happened by the 2010s.

Sapphic September prompt 22- "Are you ok?"
Barbara Minerva/Reader
WC: 720ish
Contains: pre-established relationship (sorta), comfort :), sprinkle of usual 1980s... idk., pre-movie (Wonder Woman: 1984).
AN: brought to you by me being bored at work and my friend selecting a random number, god bless.
Summary: You found Barbara in the bathroom composing herself... but you knew better than to let her hold it inside.
~-*-~
You reached out and got a hold of her shoulder, gently letting her know you were there.
"Barbara?"
She spun toward you and quickly flashed a smile and gestured as if nothing had happened. The gesture didn't magically erase her red eyes and the tear that had escaped and trailed through makeup. "Oh, hi, I didn't see you come in."
"Are you ok?" You didn't wait to ask. You watched her carefully as she brushed her hand through her hair and searched for a tissue in her pockets. You held one out to her, having grabbed one from the bathroom counter. She said "thanks" quietly and dabbed at her eyes and her cheek. "Barb," you stepped closer, but she put a hand on your shoulder and squeezed. She smiled bravely, but you knew there could have been a million things that caused her to cry in the bathroom.
"It's ok," she smiled again, but didn't keep your gaze.
"No, tell me."
It was an invitation just as much as it was a breath away from a begging plead.
"It-" her breath hitched, and she leaned against the counter, her back to the mirror. "It was... um. Leroy. He... I wrote a paper about the- the specimens from last month. He said I rushed it." She repeated his statement as if it was impossible. You both knew what it meant- that she was wrong in her findings.
You waited. While the work bathroom wasn't the best place for her to stammer, hiccup, and stumble through an explanation, you knew she wouldn't speak about it again and simply hold it with a white-knuckled grip in her heart if she didn't explain now.
You also knew Leroy was often the source of her sorrow- he was her boss. Although how he got the job ahead of her... you both knew it was only because he was a man and he had grown up with the museum director's family. Many an insult and plot had been half-heartedly formed against the man by Barbara... but that didn't matter.
What mattered was Barbara feeling like shit because he doesnt believe she's as good as she's proved time and time again.
"But I didn't rush it- I took the whole month! He was so sure that the specimens were more than they had been tagged, and he told me to do all these stupid tests! Which I did, of course, most of them I would do anyway just because I hardly have things to do anyway. But I did my job and I did it right and he just- he was so frustrating! He- god, he..." she sighed, catching her breath. "He's wrong! The stones are just- well, they're not just anything. They are pretty spectacular examples of their kind. But they're a dime a dozen, not something special. He's just angry that they're not much to showcase. He'll probably end up lying and totally over-writing my report and do something stupid with them anyway."
There it was. She had calmed down under your soothing attention and nodding, attention focused on her. You were thankful it hadn't taken long.
She looked at you, giving you a weak smile, but this time it was a real one. She had cried a little more during her ramble, but it wasn't anything she couldn't fix in a few minutes. She reached up and gently squeezed your arm.
"Better?" You asked, smiling. Your smile comforted and reassured hers.
She nodded. "You always know how to fix me."
You laughed, and it echoed in the empty bathroom. "I do my best."
She stood, her weight away from the counter. You both waited for a moment, listening for anyone coming toward the bathroom door. It was silent. She quickly cupped your cheeks and gave you a kiss- one you reciprocated. It was quick, but no less a comfort to both of you.
You heard someone coming and you pulled back, moving to a sink and starting to wash your hands. Barbara did the same.
One of the girls in your department came in, hurrying to a stall. You and Barbara left the bathroom, no longer needing to speak about the conversation.
"Are you ok?" You grabbed her hand and asked again before you split ways down the hallway. You let go of her hand quickly, but not before she gave yours a squeeze.
"I am," she nodded.
"I'll see you later, then?"
She nodded again.
"Can't wait," you smiled, giving her a wink, and turning away before she blushed.

WONDER WOMAN X CHEETAH POSSIBLE DAUGHTER LOOK (?)
Normally I don't make this type of post, BUT I think I will do a little thing for the Diana x Barbara Ship.
I will imagine a little idea about how will look a possible daughter of Diana and Barbara if the DCEU was better written and explore more possibilities than even the comics.
And in that line of thinking I make just for fun a fusion of faces of Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) and Barbara Minerva (Kirsten Wiig)
This is how the final product looks
Tumblr media
I doesn't think in a name, I think that will be something you guys in Tumblr make better.
I hope you like it and if you want to make know something, I'm open to read the comments :)

Wonder Woman 1984 with the song "A Beautiful Lie" but instead of Hans Zimmer, it's by Thirty Seconds To Mars.
I tried to not only focus on Diana (Gal Gadot), but at Maxwell Lord (Pedro Pascal) and Barbara Minerva (Kristen Wiig) as well and all the chaos caused by their choices.
