Sapphic September prompt 22- "Are you ok?"
Barbara Minerva/Reader
WC: 720ish
Contains: pre-established relationship (sorta), comfort :), sprinkle of usual 1980s... idk., pre-movie (Wonder Woman: 1984).
AN: brought to you by me being bored at work and my friend selecting a random number, god bless.
Summary: You found Barbara in the bathroom composing herself... but you knew better than to let her hold it inside.
~-*-~
You reached out and got a hold of her shoulder, gently letting her know you were there.
"Barbara?"
She spun toward you and quickly flashed a smile and gestured as if nothing had happened. The gesture didn't magically erase her red eyes and the tear that had escaped and trailed through makeup. "Oh, hi, I didn't see you come in."
"Are you ok?" You didn't wait to ask. You watched her carefully as she brushed her hand through her hair and searched for a tissue in her pockets. You held one out to her, having grabbed one from the bathroom counter. She said "thanks" quietly and dabbed at her eyes and her cheek. "Barb," you stepped closer, but she put a hand on your shoulder and squeezed. She smiled bravely, but you knew there could have been a million things that caused her to cry in the bathroom.
"It's ok," she smiled again, but didn't keep your gaze.
"No, tell me."
It was an invitation just as much as it was a breath away from a begging plead.
"It-" her breath hitched, and she leaned against the counter, her back to the mirror. "It was... um. Leroy. He... I wrote a paper about the- the specimens from last month. He said I rushed it." She repeated his statement as if it was impossible. You both knew what it meant- that she was wrong in her findings.
You waited. While the work bathroom wasn't the best place for her to stammer, hiccup, and stumble through an explanation, you knew she wouldn't speak about it again and simply hold it with a white-knuckled grip in her heart if she didn't explain now.
You also knew Leroy was often the source of her sorrow- he was her boss. Although how he got the job ahead of her... you both knew it was only because he was a man and he had grown up with the museum director's family. Many an insult and plot had been half-heartedly formed against the man by Barbara... but that didn't matter.
What mattered was Barbara feeling like shit because he doesnt believe she's as good as she's proved time and time again.
"But I didn't rush it- I took the whole month! He was so sure that the specimens were more than they had been tagged, and he told me to do all these stupid tests! Which I did, of course, most of them I would do anyway just because I hardly have things to do anyway. But I did my job and I did it right and he just- he was so frustrating! He- god, he..." she sighed, catching her breath. "He's wrong! The stones are just- well, they're not just anything. They are pretty spectacular examples of their kind. But they're a dime a dozen, not something special. He's just angry that they're not much to showcase. He'll probably end up lying and totally over-writing my report and do something stupid with them anyway."
There it was. She had calmed down under your soothing attention and nodding, attention focused on her. You were thankful it hadn't taken long.
She looked at you, giving you a weak smile, but this time it was a real one. She had cried a little more during her ramble, but it wasn't anything she couldn't fix in a few minutes. She reached up and gently squeezed your arm.
"Better?" You asked, smiling. Your smile comforted and reassured hers.
She nodded. "You always know how to fix me."
You laughed, and it echoed in the empty bathroom. "I do my best."
She stood, her weight away from the counter. You both waited for a moment, listening for anyone coming toward the bathroom door. It was silent. She quickly cupped your cheeks and gave you a kiss- one you reciprocated. It was quick, but no less a comfort to both of you.
You heard someone coming and you pulled back, moving to a sink and starting to wash your hands. Barbara did the same.
One of the girls in your department came in, hurrying to a stall. You and Barbara left the bathroom, no longer needing to speak about the conversation.
"Are you ok?" You grabbed her hand and asked again before you split ways down the hallway. You let go of her hand quickly, but not before she gave yours a squeeze.
"I am," she nodded.
"I'll see you later, then?"
She nodded again.
"Can't wait," you smiled, giving her a wink, and turning away before she blushed.

His shirt
Chandler Bing x Fem! Reader
Tumblr media
The group catches y/n wearing Chandlers shirt, y/n and chandler arent out as a couple yet. (Kinda based off of the “rach can i borrow your eyelash curler i think i lost mine”)
—————————————
“Hey Chandler, wheres that white shirt you always wear? I thought you were gonna wear it when we all go to my show.” Joey asked and the rest of the group turned to look at Chandler. Chandler didnt answer for a second, “uh in the washer! I need to run a load soon.” He stuttered through the sentence. Joey thought nothing of it and neither did the others. “Alright well lets go see if y/n is up yet, she needs to get ready too.” Ross said opening the door as everyone walked across the hall to the apartment.
“Y/n! You up yet?” Joey called out. She walked out of her room not paying any attention to what was going on, “give me five minutes to get dressed and i’ll be ready.” Some of the others gasped and Joey just nodded before looking at the others, “what?”
Joey looked back at y/n and eventually noticed her shirt, then gasped as well. Y/n looked confused then looked at the shirt she was wearing, Chandlers shirt. Her eyes widened and she looked up at Chandler who’s eyes were also widened. “In the washer huh Chandler?” Ross asked as the group looked at him. Chandler gave a sarcastic smile before speed walking over to y/n and practically dragging her back to her room.
“Well 1. I definitely need to see you wearing my clothes more often because.. wow.” Chandler started gesturing to her making her smile and blush, “and 2. I guess its time to tell them huh?” Y/n laughed and nodded, “i guess so. I’ll get dressed and then we’ll talk to them okay?” Chandler nodded and sat on her bed as she went and got dressed.
————
After she got dressed she walked out of her closet putting on her earrings, “okay ready?” She reached for the door but got pulled back, “one more thing.” Chandler smiled and pulled her to him, he cupped her face with one hand and kissed her. Once they pulled away she wiped the lipstick off his lips but kissed him on the cheek leaving a mark. “Now im ready.” He said smiling wide. She smiled back and nodded as she opened the door.
They were all in the same spot and immediately turned to the door. There was a minute of silence before everyone started talking, many “i knew it!” And “i called it!” And “you owe me that 20 bucks!” Were thrown around and Chandler wrapped an arm around your waist, “as much fun it was being a secret im definitely going to love this even more.” Chandler whispered quietly in her ear. She smiled and looked up at him as the others still argued with each other about their bets, “me too.”
Small one tonight as i finish the other one im working on. i had a dream about this last night actually about chandler and thought it wouldve been a cute prompt so i hope you all think so. Also I might start writing for Joey as well but we’ll see!

@neanderthal-pessimist
Babe, you asked about Danny's suicidal thoughts/attempt so here it is.
In 1x18 there is a moment when Danny and Steve have a talk with FBI guys and later, when boys are alone, Danny is devastated by the news about Matt's financial crimes and Steve's "what if Matt is really guilty?". Danny wants Steve to have faith in Matt (or: Danny tries to still believe in his own brother, he wants to be loyal) and there's his confession.
Very dark and painful confession: once Danny thought about suicide (and I guess/interpret that he TRIED to kill himself - and that's why Matt was always there, was there almost 24/7).
Why? Because of damn Rachel. No, it wasn't because of the divorce (he could live without her, he would be happier without her and his mental health would be much better when she's away from him). It was because of Rachel's plays. GRACIE. She used Grace against Danny, she wanted to ruin his fatherhood. She took Grace away from him and was like "You'll lose her, Daniel. I swear" ("I'll punish you, Daniel"). Once she and her mother behaved in toxic and abusive way towards Danny and then, after divorce, Rach ruined Danny's mind again. She knew well what would hurt him, what would really hurt him. She knew well that Grace was Danny's everything. Danny's forever-love. Rach knew where to hit so she hit.
So in 1x18 we can see all Danny's pain. All painful memories. It's a double pain cause it's about Gracie and now also about Matty. Matty saved him. We can say about Matt many things but yeah, he saved Danny's life. He helped Danny to be strong again. He helped him to fight for Gracie. Danny almost lost Grace, almost lost his life (literally and metaphorically) and in this moment he fears that he will lose his brother - a brother who helped him so much.
Gosh, Steve's face. He's shocked. He's terrified. He tries to stay calm but he can't - he's shaking inside. His Danny, his beloved Danny, his angel, best friend, his best human ever, sunshine of his life... Danny almost died. Almost killed himself. Danny. Suicide, fuck. Yes, Steve understands Danny's loyalty and love for Matthew BUT THIS. SUICIDE. Steve can't think about Matt now. He is focused on Danny. On Danny's old pain. He can't believe that his boy tried, thought... His strong, "there's always hope" boy... Fuck. No. God, why? Why Danny had to suffer? Why Danny has to suffer? Oh, Steve knows well that part of the pain is still there - cause Rachel still wants war. She is still mean to Danny. Her smile can't hide it. Steve knows her. He observes. He listens to Danny and believes Danny, not her.
Steve is pissed off. He was pissed off earlier when he saw Rachel's games. When he heard Danny's bitter words, Danny's fears. But now Steve has such a face like... It's the face "I wanna go back to the restaurant and...". Shout at Rachel. Tell her that she's the worst. Gosh, Steve looks here like he wants to punch her. He can't do this, he knows (plus: he doesn't want to ruin Danny's fatherhood). But in his mind he is punching her. He is shouting at her (well, maybe one day he will tell her, one day he will punch her with his bitter words, one day when Danny and Grace are safe).
Steve is here (and always will be) for Danny. He touches him. This touch is like a touch of guardian angel. And in the end he is looking at Danny and there's so much love and concern in Steve's eyes. Rachel can't hurt Danno anymore, no fucking way, he thinks.
It's such a strong scene. Danny opens his heart. Oh yes, Steve is the only one - Danny lets only him to know. To know about the darkest moment in Danny's life. Danny knows that Steve will understand. That Steve will treat this seriously. Steve is like him. And Steve is the opposite of Rachel. There's no shame, Danny. Steve loves you. Your pain is his pain. All what is yours is his.
I love that they're together SO MUCH. They're together so it will be all right. They're strong together. So strong.
I'm not a fan of Matt but it's so good that Danny had him around. Matt saved Danny and all what he did for him as a brother... It's touching. It's beautiful. All that beer, all those talks, all this time... Thank you, Matthew Williams. You saved an angel.
But... I can't believe that this Matt, this Matt that saw his brother's pain, deepest depression, that witnessed Danny's suicidal attempt... Why the hell Matt still tries to be nice (SO nice) to Rachel? Why the hell he wants her around Danny? (and Grace) Why the hell he invited Rachel for his family dinner with Danny and Grace? Why the hell he told Danny "You love Rachel, I see this"?! Why the hell he behaves like he wants to see Danny and Rachel together again (knowing well about Danny's pain and seeing well how much Steve means to Danny)? Why sometimes he behaves like HE is in love with Rach? (well, sometimes she looks at him like "I chose the wrong brother" so... hmm...).
And Rachel, geez. Why show's plot is on her side? Why no one sued her for what she did? She's guilty. She (and her mother) ruined Danny's mental health. After divorce she ruined Danny's mental health even more. Her toxic/destructive behaviour (and using Grace in her war against Danny) was the cause. Her behaviour and toxic deeds, her "I'll take Grace" pushed Danny to suicide attempt. Why didn't she face any consequences? Why are people still kind to her? Why the hell Grace lives with her? Where's "I'm sorry, Danny?" (oh, okay, there's no apology cause Hollanders are never sorry, right?).
Six months. SIX MONTHS! Six months full of deepest anxiety and depression. Six months WHOLE of that. Six months without light. Six months, for six months Matt tried to change Danny's mind. For six months there was a danger - that Danny would do it. I can imagine Matt's fear when he went to work and for those few hours per day Danny was there alone... Six months with darkest thoughts. And before and after that? Still dark. She made/makes Danny's life dark (and Steve's too, by the way).
Where's the law? Where's the justice for Danny? What an irony - he fights for other victims' justice but he as a victim got no justice.
Yeah, I know. Writers hated Danny. And Lenkov wanted Danny/Rachel so badly...
"I would not have gotten through that"
It hurts. It's blood-curdling. Danny, our bamf!Danny said that. It's generally scary to hear such words. To see other person's pain and feeling of total loss. Gosh, I can't 😭 This line kills me. It kills my heart.
(Thank you, Matthew for saving the life. Thank you, Steve for saving this life again. For giving Danny a real good life, safer and colourful. Life full of love).

Underrated tips to spice up your writing journey
Hello hello, it's me, Rach!
Today I'm here with a fresh post where, as you can guess from the title, I'll share some (underrated, I think) tips to help you go through your writing journey with ease.
So, let's get started!
People watching: Not in a creepy way :') but we, as authors who write about people and want to create realistic characters, should always be observing everyone around us: perceive how people laugh, go through their daily lives, talk, move, etc. Every little detail is crucial!
Create playlists for everything: I'm quite sus here because I'm obsessed with the art of playlist making. I reallyyyy love to pick songs that make me feel things, but hear me out!!! This will be so helpful to set the mood. Create playlists for your characters (that show their personality, their mood, etc), for your books, and for YOURSELF as a writer, too. Playlists are never too many, trust me.
Don't feel the need to write scene after scene: When I started writing, I thought I needed to write the events as they happen in the story, but later found out it wasn't true! I find it so fun to write whatever comes to my mind and then put everything together. You might even come up with an unexpected scene that you wouldn't think of if you were writing scene after scene!!
You can write everywhere: Well, you don't have to always wait until you get home to continue working on your masterpiece! If you keep all your writing in a synced software, you can take off your phone anytime and write a few paragraphs while you wait for your coffee, for example!
The empty page isn't a monster: You're starting a book... Okay, I've been there... It can be quite scary!!! You stare at the empty page and you're afraid to start with the wrong word, phrase even. But listen, you always have the chance to edit and re-write it later :) the most important step is to get started.
Let your characters take charge: Don't control your babies!! Let them lead the story to places you could never imagine. Let them have their own life, needs, and choices. This sounds crazy because they're the fruit of your imagination, right? But hey, once you see them as real people, you'll start having so much fun, and the events in your book will flow so much easier and they will even feel more realistic.
I really hope this post was somewhat useful! Feel free to reblog or share with someone who might love it as well <3

Happy writing! <3

i don’t know whether you take requests or not but :
1 : reader is sarinas as daughter on camp and sees alessia crying so she goes and comforts her they then sneak around the rest of camp sharing secret kisses etc until someone sees them and sarina finds out.
2 : reader is a firefighter and part time footballer, they get called to a job that turns out to be alessia’s house and goes into the fire to save everyone including lessi, then she finds out less has no where to stay so offers her apartment and they fall in love.
Secrets
It was normality for you to go to camp with the lionesses since your aunt was their head coach.
Yes, Sarina Wiegman was not just a good coach but an even better aunt. She knew you were very interested in the medical aspect of the footballers which is why she always took you with her. The lionesses also loved having you there since you had a tendency for pranks which didn’t go unnoticed by Millie and Rachel.
You were friends with everyone but one particular blonde had you wrapped around her fingers and Sarina noticed that.
,,No pranks this time y/n, especially not with Rachel and Millie“
Your aunt said as you two were exiting the car to enter the camp grounds.
,,Come on it wasn’t that bad“
You laughed reminiscing on the time you Rach and Millie taped each door with clear foil making everyone run into it.
,,You even made the staff ran into it-
,,We, Aunt Sarina. It was clearly team effort“
She chuckled at your giddy behaviour, shaking her head.
,,Are you happy to see everyone?“
She asked
„I cannot wait, it feels like so much time has passed since you guys won the European championship“
„Totally, it’s going to be very nice. Excited to see Alessia?“
You didn’t have to look into her direction to see her smirk, you could feel it. Sarina found out during the afterparty when you’ve had one too many drinks and couldn’t stop talking about how pretty she looked and how amazing her strawberry smell was.
„I’m not going to answer that“
You mumbled as your whole face went red. Sarina only laughed as you both entered the building.
,,Sarina, Y/n!“
Leah exclaimed loudly as she pulled both of you in a big hug.
„Long time no see captain“
You chuckled giving the Milton Keynes queen a squeeze before letting her go.
„Way too long, why does your face look like that?“
She questioned, meaning the redness caused by your aunt from a few seconds ago. Sarina laughed while you tried to stutter out an excuse which didn’t go unnoticed by Leah.
„Hey Sarina! Y/n“
You recognised the familiar sweet voice call out your name. You turned around to be met with the beautiful Italian, who was occupying your mind for the past few months. Sarina gave Alessia a hug before going to greet some other staff. The Italian pulled you in a tight hug as you rested your arms around her back.
„You alright lessi?“
You whispered so only she could hear.
„Yeah, are you? I missed you“
She replied in the same tone as you.
„I missed you too and I’m great, can’t wait for the next few days“
You smiled letting go from the hug.
„Well I’ll see you around y/n“
The blonde said smiling at you as her nose scrunched up before going around to greet the rest of the team. You felt the butterflies taking over in your stomach as her smile replayed in your mind several times.
The next few days consisted of the same routine. You gaining some experience when it came to the medical wellbeing of the players, the players being busy with training and hanging out with everyone during the evening. You did hang out a lot with Alessia, probably more than with the rest of the team which didn’t go unnoticed.
Today was different though, the Italian was very reserved and didn’t talk much, usually she’d chew your ear off when watching a movie but she was busy pushing around the popcorn in the bowl, not even eating it. You guessed it was because of the little hit she’d taken from Training making her miss out on starting the first game. Before you could ask her she excused herself saying she was tired so she could go to bed but you knew her better than that.
It was currently 3am and you were still awake, mainly because of your unfinished coursework that was due in 10 hours but also because of the Italian.
You decided to go down and get some tea maybe it’ll help.
As you were walking around the corner you could hear sniffles which made you freeze on the spot.
,,I’ll try Gio“
Your favourite blonde whispered as her voice broke. It was clear that alessia was the one crying in the lounge room at 3am. You rounded the corner to be met with red puffy eyes.
You whispered as the tears rolling down her cheeks didn’t stop. The blonde lounged herself into your arms as soon as she heard you. You tried to rub circles on her back to calm her down since she was still crying.
„Alessia come here“
„hey it’s okay, whatever it is we got this“
You whispered trying to soothe her.
After a few minutes you managed to calm her down as she was still in your arms. Repeatedly kissing her temple seemed to even out her breathing as she completely relaxed into your hold now.
She nuzzled her face into your chest as she took a deep breath.
„thank you y/n“
„don’t need to thank me less, do you want to talk about it?“
You looked at her loosening your grip and sitting down on the couch patting down the space next to you. She joined you as she fiddled with her hands.
„Injuries just give me flashbacks to the UNC days where I broke my leg and couldn’t play for a year.. even if it’s just a small hit I just get scared“
She mumbled.
„Sounds a lot like ptsd to me less“
You replied softly giving her your hand so she could play with the rings on your hand rather than fiddling with hers. She looked at you gratefully before playing with the rings on your hand.
„Have you talked to anyone about it?“
She nodded her head as she told you about the talks she had with some of the coaching staff.
„I guess it just takes some time“
She whispered leaning back tiredly on the couch.
„It does but you’re lucky because you’re in the presence of Dr.Y/l/n“
You raised your eyebrow at her making her laugh.
„Right doctor what do you recommend?“
She chuckled at your behaviour.
„Not pressuring yourselves because everyone’s mental recovery journey is different“
You said as you watched her blue eyes soften
„how do you always know what to say?“
She asked as she turned her body into your direction, still playing with your rings.
There was a brief moment of silence as unspoken words were exchanged before you pulled the blonde closer.
Your hand resting on her hips drawing soothing circles into it.
„Less?“
You whispered as your faces were only inches apart.
„hm?“
The Italian was busy looking at your lips before her eyes travelled back to yours
„Can I kiss yo-
She cut you off mid-sentence pressing her lips on yours. The taste of strawberries taking over your tongue as the kiss grew more passionate by the second.
Her kisses felt soft and sweet, like you imagined them to be like when you looked at alessia. There was no doubt in your mind that both of you would want to take things further, but the little voice in your head told you to stop.
Not now and definitely not during camp. Alessia deserves better than this and both of you didn’t want it to be a one time thing. The blonde slowly climbed into your lap, not breaking the kiss.
It felt addicting to kiss alessia, the warmth and comfort you felt by being this close to her was out of this world.
You broke the kiss apart when oxygen became a problem and just admired the Italian in front of you.
„How do you smell and taste like strawberries?“
You smiled as the girl turned a bright shade of red.
„It’s my favourite perfume and lip balm“
She said sweetly as she played with the strings of your hoodie.
„Might’ve become my favourite fruit now“
You mumbled as the red colour on her cheeks depend.
After the make out session that night, you and alessia have been sneaking around camp stealing kisses from each other and occasionally even making out.
A few days has past since your first kiss and you were again awake at 3am in the lounge room fully making out with the Italian. You didn’t know when it happened but somewhere along watching „6 underground“, alessias lips seemed way more interesting than the movie.
Just as you were about to say something you heard a high pitched squeak from the door. You looked into the direction to see Leah with her hands clasped over her mouth.
„It’s not what it looks like“
Alessia and you said in unison.
Part 2? 👀

Santana Lopez is lazy. At least, according to herself in New Directions (5x13) "I'm too lazy to do eight shows a week". Now I have many issues with this episode and the entire understudy plot, but that isn't what I want to expand on here. I just want to talk about this one line.
Warning, this is a very long post.
Where on Earth did the writers get that idea? I can see Santana genuinely believing that about herself since her self esteem isn't always the greatest, but Rachel never corrects her. Santana says she is lazy, and that's it. She's lazy. But wait a minute, are we talking about the same Santana here?
Let me bring up the obvious. The cheerios. I don't think it's possible to be lazy and be a cheerleader under the leadership of Sue Sylvester (unless you're Becky, I guess). Santana was a cheerio for all of season 1 and 3, half of season 2 (only because without her, Quinn, and Brittany the cheerios weren't good enough to win), and presumably all of her freshman year. That's three and a half years of gruelling training and death-defying stunts. And for her senior year she is co-captain, so taking on extra responsibilities.
Also cheerios related, in Diva 4x13 Sue offers Santana a job as the cheerios coach. Despite knowing how tough Sue is she says yes. Later when speaking to Britt she says that she'll take over fully when Sue dies and she's gonna make sure that happens within a few years (presumably a joke but who knows what would've happened).
Then there's the New Directions. Santana is in the glee club for three (almost) straight years. We don't often see much more than lessons being introduced and then singing, but it's established in season 1 that they do vocal warm ups/training. There's also booty camp which runs late season 2 and all season 3. After she gets (unfairly imo) kicked out in The Purple Piano Project (3x01), she agrees to join Booty Camp to come back to ND. In universe she is one of the better dancers, so this is just a punishment that she accepts, she wants to be in the glee club and will do extra work for it. There's also practising for their competition numbers (even if it's the day of). In season 1 she helps come up with some choreography. Santana often has solo parts and was one of only a few members to get a full solo where she doesn't just park and bark (obvi Britt and Mike were the featured dancers but Santana has her own choreo). Santana is also one of only four characters who audition for a solo for nationals in Funeral (2x21), and she's one of only two who have some sort of choreography.
Continuing on with glee clubs, the Troubletones. Santana joined TT to get more focus. We saw TT discussions and dance practise, and we know that Shelby did vocal coaching that was better than Will's (Mercedes: "Shelby's a great teacher, I'm hitting notes I didn't even know existed.") Santana also pushed through a majorly distressing event (outing) to perform and used that pain to lift the performance (RHI/SLY).
School musicals. Santana has roles in three different school musicals. The only one she doesn't participate in is Cabaret, but that is just a sham to get Rach away from the New Directions. In season two she plays two different characters in Rocky Horror, she's double cast as Magenta (a supporting character) with Quinn, and she plays the lips (this is a mistake on the show's part, the lips are Riff Raff's actor in the movie, but on stage this song is performed by a character named Trixie the Usherette who does a reprise of the song at the end). In West Side Story she plays Anita. Finally in Grease she plays Rizzo, it's worth noting that she gets the role with very little notice and still (from what little we see) nails it.
Jobs. Throughout highschool Santana doesn't seem to have any part time employment, but that's the case for most characters. While she's at Louisville she doesn't need to get a job since she got a scholarship and a bunch of money from her mom. I mentioned previously that she almost got a job as cheerios coach. Once she moves to New York in season 4 she works a shit ton of jobs, like a ridiculous amount. She's a bouncer, a cage dancer, she works at the Coyote Ugly Saloon Bar, she's a waitress, a reoccurring actor for Yeast-I-Stat, Fanny Brice understudy, Rachel's publicist, back up singer (and maybe dancer?) for Mercedes which includes touring with her, and she is an active member of Pamela Lansbury before she and Rachel are kicked out.
Even ignoring the jobs that were just word of mouth, she had five jobs, that's more than any other character in the show, and we unfortunately never find out what she ends up doing.
In season 4 after a push from her friends she takes on NYADA extension classes.
Also relevant, in season 4 she drops out of college. This isn't because she's "too lazy", it's because of the environment. She didn't gel with her fellow students, there's no mention of the work being too much, it's purely that the other cheerleaders don't respond well to her. Her "brutal honesty" or whatever, still not a reflection of her work ethic, just her lack of tact (to put it lightly). Also worth mentioning, the two times we see her at Louisville she is clearly working hard. She can't talk to Britt because she's too busy, and in the scene where that Virginia Wolfe girl eyes her up she's in the library studying. In Jagged Little Tapestry (6x03) Santana tells Brittany that she would like to go back to college, unfortunately we never see if this comes to fruition.
Volunteering. Santana is also the character who volunteers the most. In Silly Love Songs (2x12) she says that she often volunteers at the hospital which is where she got the candy striper outfit. Two episode earlier in A Very Glee Christmas (2x10) the glee girls are going to sell their hair, Santana is the one to tell the others to "stop yapping" and just do it and is just a about to cut off her hair when Will stops them, so clearly she was willing to do it. The next Christmas Santana joins Sam and Quinn at the homeless shelter with the other New Directions after the tv special (kinda goes against her prior eagerness to help out, but makes sense since fame is her mistress). In Lights Out (4x20) she joins Rachel and Kurt volunteering at the Ballet Gala. Admittedly here it's takes a push and she only goes after being offered dresses.
Mentoring. From season four the ND alumni often come back to mentor the newbies or just to help out in general. Santana comes back in Glease (4x06), Thanksgiving (4x08), Diva (4x13), All or Nothing (4x21), 100/New Directions (5x12, 5x13), Homecoming (6x02), and Jagged Little Tapestry (6x03). (I'm not including The Breakup or The Quarterback because she came back for emotional reasons.)
Knowing all of this about her shows how hardworking and passionate Santana is. She is constantly working at something. She has her down time (watching Facts of Life, scrolling Rizzoli & Isles lesbian subtext blogs), but that seems few and far between when knowing just how much she works. It can also be inferred that she is a good student at WMHS, seeing as she got the scholarship to Louisville and they probably wouldn't accept her on just cheerleading merit alone, and she is seen multiple times with her books open, studying. (Pot O' Gold and Saturday Night Glee-ver come to mind). We also know that she cares about her education because she reported Will for being a sub par teacher in The Spanish Teacher (3x12).
Along with everything I just mentioned, Santana also takes it upon herself to do side quests when she wants something. She is so determined to prove that Quinn and Finn are having an affair that she gives herself mono (she's immune apparently, but still). She also goes full spy to take down Sebastian, and to take down Brody. With everything else she does and the effort she puts into random situations to do with her friends she must be goddamn exhausted.
Something I must bring up is related to her being Rachel's understudy. But first another disclaimer: I don't want this post to become a discussion on who was in the right in the situation, both women did bad things, that is not what this post is about. I only bring it up because it is the plot where this line is said, therefore some parts a relevant.
Santana only gets the idea to audition for the understudy role as Rachel leaves to go judge the auditions. We do not know exactly how much time passes in between but it's presumably only a few hours at most. This means that Santana had to memorise the song, change the key and structure by herself, and choreograph the number in a few hours. That shows dedication. Later on in The Back-Up Plan (5x18) Santana goes on in place of Rachel to try and save her friends job. Again she has very little time to prepare to play the role as the show is that night, and hasn't been the understudy for approximately a good few months. We don't see her perform but Rach herself says she was really good. It's unfortunate that we never see Santana get any opportunities come from this, but it's Glee so I digress.
In conclusion (I feel like I'm back in highschool lol), Santana Lopez has many flaws and there are many valid reasons to criticise her, her work ethic is not one. Santana is shown to be an extremely hard working and dedicated character who aims high and will put in the work to get what she wants, she won't let other people get in her way. She can be her own worst enemy and can get into a slump when she can't see a direction to go in, but she always pushes through. I think it's cowardly that the show not only decided that she was the sole offender of the Understudy Situation, but also shunted her with a negative descriptor that is in complete opposition to what we know of her. Despite also saying cruel things during the understudy plot line Rachel gets away with not apologising, and then lets Santana insult herself. It's an unfortunate result and complete character assassination for Santana and shows how little the writers care for her. It also destroys the friendship that Pezberry developed up until that point. Santana is not the only character to be described in a negative way even when the rest of the show doesn't represent that, Mercedes Jones gets this treatment even worse and more often. I do have a discussion about her in my drafts, hopefully I'll finish it one day. It sucks that two of the most versatile and skilled characters in Glee are constantly said to not be enough.
Santana Lopez is not lazy.

Plans
It'll be a while until my next story update is finished as the chapter that's due next is one I'm struggling with a little bit, so I thought I'd do a rambling post on what my plans for the coming time are.
Under the cut, for it is longgggg rambling.
Writing
As we speak, I'm writing several things at once. One of the things I'm writing is the next chapter of the story, entitled 'Bestseller'. It's not coming along brilliantly, which is mostly due to the fact that I'm feeling quite out of touch with the characters who feature heavily in this chapter. They have been slightly off the radar for a while since my student bunch, particularly Sadie and everyone around her, required so much attention. I guess I'm also a bit reluctant to post this chapter for that same reason. Many of you have gotten to know ATOH mostly for all the Sadie-drama, but there's more to it, and eventually, it all connects. So I need to write this chapter, even though the characters will probably be unknown to many (new) followers, and it may seem like a different story altogether unless you've been with me for longer.
Aside from struggling to write Bestseller, I'm also already working on the chapter after that, working title 'Starting Over', but with the way it's going, I'm probably changing that title; it doesn't fit right. Edited to add, this chapter is pretty much finished now and titled 'Now or Never.' This one is flowing from my keyboard more easily, which is mostly because it takes us back to Sadie (and James! ;) ).
Lastly, I'm writing two shorter chapters/updates. These weren't originally on the timeline, but I'm fitting them in. One might even be the first one I post next. It will show twins Viola and Rosa, nieces to James and Sarah, have their first birthday and age up to toddlers. This will show James with his family, which is interesting for reasons I won't yet go into too deeply, and it will give me a chance to stage a conversation between James and Seth they really need to have, but I couldn't build in elsewhere. The other is something I really don't know where to fit in, but it shows a conversation between Jill and Daniel, which I also really want to show.
2. Character posts
I feel like I need to do some character posts before posting Bestseller. Because of what I wrote above; the characters might be too unknown. I don't know how to approach this yet, but I feel like I should. Ideas are welcome.
3. Rachel's Dating Adventure
Thank you so much to everyone who's created someone for my dear Rach. <3 It might be a while until I can continue this because I'm still contemplating whether this takes place before the aforementioned chapters, after, or somewhere in between. But it will happen, and I'm very excited about it.
4. "Backstage" posts
Since the topic of time came up several times in replies and conversations I had recently, I've decided I'm going to write up some posts on how I do things with regard to my game and the story "behind the scenes". I'll explain a bit more about how I approach time and dates (why is it 2008 in my story, and what does that mean?), but I also want to write something on education and why my students started uni at 20 years old. Also, what's with the bees and the honey? Why all that? Maybe I'll go into that one too.
5. The Grand Honeycomb Valley Tour
I keep promising this and keep postponing it, but I will do it. I will, over time, give you all a closer look of everything I built to make Honeycomb Valley the town it is.
Is it too ambitious to want this all sorted before March?

Goodbye 2023 and Hello 2024
We lived a full year in Utah and had so much happen and changed. Lots of snow exploration, new friends, no experiences and challenges. I got engaged to this wonderful man and we're trying to build a life together.
My training business has been open for a full year now, and is doing better than I thought, but somehow is still harder than I expected. I haven't gone under or bankrupt yet, I guess so overall it's good.
Rebel has been with us for almost a year and a half and is a typical teenage cat spending her time trying to get Aayla to play with her or getting mad at Aayla for no reason. She has waves of confidence and fear that we keep trying to work through.
Aayla has had a hell of a year. 16 new titles, taking the ASCA world by storm and really just excelling. We had an amazing time at our first nationals. She is a little more stiff than the previous year but is more sound than she was this time last year.
I think this year has the chance to be our last serious trial year. I will probably have Aayla retired from obedience and the ASCA agility we are doing when she turns 10. Then she can finish her RACH for Rally after that.
For goals I hope to be a better handler, work harder on my ring entry and between exercise routines, and change my marker for in the ring.
Then for my dreams I want Aayla to get her UDX with AKC before she retires. (8 legs to go!) Then just maybe she can get an OTCH. It's unlikely to be able to trial enough for it, but hell it is a dream.
Then after that for ASCA I hope that Aayla gets her UD and UDX this year. (UDX is only 5 2Qs for ASCA) and works towards that OTCH (I'm pretty sure she can get that OTCH before she retires). I'm also going to get her RMX, RTX and REMX this year. Then after that work to her RTCH. Then on top of that I want to get Aayla's GSDA-E, RSDA-N, RSDA-O and RSDA-E. (agility senior ACE titles). Then of course to go to ASCA Nationals this year, hopefully qualifying for Utility or Superdog Finals. (Superdog would require her to qualify in both open and utility 5 times and she only has 5 possible times to do that this year, so it is unlikely. BUT all 5 times will be at the place where we train)
Lots of things I want. Yet as always I try and remember those are just dreams and it's okay if we don't reach those dreams. They're not goals for us.

The Daughter of Poseidon: Chapter Four
Tumblr media
A/N: Okay...this is really long lol. Hope you guys enjoy it!
Della, Piper, and Rachel arrive just as the songs end. Della pats Piper on the back and goes to sit next to Annabeth and Jason.
“Are you okay?” whispers Annabeth.
“For now,” Della whispers back.
Jason’s eyes are locked on her. He opens his mouth to say something–
Chiron clears his throat. “Very nice! A special welcome to our new arrivals. I am Chiron, the camp activities director, and I’m happy you have all arrived here alive and with most of your limbs attached. In a moment we’ll get to s’mores but first–”
“What about capture the flag?” asks Danny, one of the Aries kids.
At this point Della kind of zones out. She hears bits of the conversation. The dragon. Damn, Beckendorff for rebuilding that thing. It’s been a huge problem. Della focuses instead on the campfire. The flames dance. Little flickers flutter up creating small pictures. They start to form a face, a familiar face–it almost looks like–
“We will have to be patient,” says Chiron, “In the meantime, we have more pressing matters to discuss.” “Percy?” asks a younger Apollo camper.
The fire dims a bit as anxiety floods around the campfire.
Chiron gestures to Annabeth.
Annabeth rises and steps forward a bit. “I didn’t find Percy.” Beth’s voice catches a bit at Percy’s name. The flames illuminate her brown eyes. “He was not at the Grand Canyon like I thought. But we’re not giving up. We’ve got teams everywhere. Grover, Tyson, Nico, the Hunters of Artemis–everyone’s out there looking. We will find him. Chiron’s talking about something different. A new quest.”
“It’s the Great Prophecy isn’t it?” asks Drew.
Surprise spills over the crowd. Drew never really speaks at these things.
“Drew?” Annabeth says. “What do you mean?”
“Well come on.” She spreads her arms out like it’s obvious. “Olympus is closed. Percy’s missing. Hera sends you a vision and you come back with three new demigods in one day. I mean, something weird is going on. The Great Prophecy has started right?”
All eyes were on Rachel, who pats Piper on the arm.
“Well you’re the oracle,” says Drew, “Has it started or not?”
Rach had that look her determined oracle look. “Yes, the Great Prophecy has begun.”
Chaos erupts like a volcano around the fire.
Jason scoots closer to Della. “You okay?” He whispers.
“Never better. Thanks, Hercules.” Della smirks in the firelight.
Jason tenses at the nickname.
“For those who have not heard the prophecy,” Rachel says, “the Great Prophecy was my first prediction. It arrived in August it goes like this:
Eight half-bloods shall answer the call.
To storm or fire the World must fall–”
Jason startles from his spot next to Della. He may as well have been electrocuted.
Even Rachel is taken off guard, “J-Jason, what is–”
What Jason spat out next was definitely not English, but if Della had to guess was Latin. Judging by Rachel’s face she’s translated what he said..
“You-you finished it,” Rachel stammered. –an oath to keep with a final breath/And foes bear arms to the Doors of Death. How did you–”
“I know those lines,” Jason winced, “I don’t know how, but I know that prophecy.” He winces again and puts a hand on his forehead.
Della stands up and places a hand on his shoulder.
Drew glares at her and is not alone in the sentiment. Piper is also not happy with Della’s gesture.
Jason sits down embarrassment evident on his face.
Della follows suit.
“It’s okay,” she whispers, “should’ve seen me the first day I was here.” Her lips turn up in a soft smile.
Jason doesn’t look convinced but nods.
Rachel is shaken. She glances back at Chiron for guidance.
Chiron looks like a gloomy gargoyle. Silent and distant. Almost as if he’d seen this film before and didn’t like the ending.
Well,” Rachel says, trying to regain composure. “So, yeah that’s the great prophecy. We hoped it might not happen for years, but I fear it’s starting now. I can’t give you proof. It’s just a feeling. And like Drew said, some weird stuff is happening. The eight demigods, whoever they are, have not gathered yet. I get the feeling some are here. Some are not.”
Murmurs of anxiety lace themselves around the fire almost like a noose. Until Clovis slightly eased the tension thinking they were taking roll call.
“Anyway,” Rachel continues, “we don’t know what the Great Prophecy means. We don’t know what challenge the demigods will face, but since the first Great Prophecy predicted the Titan War, we can guess the second Great Prophecy will predict something at least that bad.”
“Or worse,” mutters Chiron.
“What we do know,” Rachel says, “is that the first phase has begun. A major problem has arisen, and we need a quest to solve it. Hera, the queen of the gods has been taken.”
Stunned silence envelops the campfire. Then like a hundred campers all talk at once. Chiron stomps his hoof for order, and Rachel waits to get their attention again.
Rachel then spent the next few minutes catching everyone up on the events prior. From the Grand Canyon–Gleson Hedge’s sacrifice–to Piper and Della’s vision–to Jason’s vision.
“Jason,” Rachel says, “Um…do you remember your last name?”
Jason shakes his head no.
“We’ll just call you Jason then,” Rachel says, “Hera has issued you this quest.”
All eyes are on Jason. Jason looks calm and brave. Much braver than Della did when tasked with her first quest. But this was not his first quest.
“I agree.”
“You must save Hera to prevent a great evil,” Rachel continues, “Some sort of king from rising. For reasons we don’t understand yet, it must happen by winter solstice, four days from now.”
“The council day of the gods,” says Annabeth, “If they don’t already know she’s missing, they will notice her absence by then.”
“That’ll end well,” says Della, “They’ll probably break out fighting. Accusing each other of taking her. Their usual M.O.”
“The Winter Solstice,” Chiron speaks up, “is also a time of great darkness. The gods gather on that day, as mortals always have because there is strength in numbers. The solstice is a day when evil magic is strong. Ancient magic, older than the gods. It is a day when things…stir.”
The tone he uses makes Della shiver. It sounds sinister–like it was a first-degree felony, not something you did to cookie dough.
“Okay,” Annabeth says, glaring at the centaur, “Thank you, Captain Sunshine. Whatever’s going on, I agree with Rachel. Jason has been chosen to lead this quest so–”
“Why hasn’t he been claimed?” someone yells from the Aries group. “If he’s so important–”
“He has been claimed,” Chiron announced, “Long ago. Jason, give them a demonstration.
Jason doesn’t seem to understand right away. He glances at Della one more time before he steps forward. Della has to admit he is pretty handsome in the firelight. She suddenly realizes she’s been staring for too long. Off to the side, Annabeth smirks at her.  Della mouths back at her Shut up!
Jason reaches into his pocket pulls out a golden coin and flips it. The coin flashes in the air and once he catches it he’s holding a lance-a rod of gold about seven feet long with a spear tip.
The rest of the camp gasps at the sight of the weapon. Annabeth and Rachel step back a few steps to avoid the tip which looks as sharp as an ice pick.
“Wasn’t that…” Annabeth hesitates, “ I thought you had a sword.”
“Um, it came up tails…I think,” Jason says, “Same coin, long-range weapon form.”
Della snorts at his quip.
“Dude I want one!” calls an Aries boy.
“Better than Clarisse’s electric spear, Lamer!” one of his brothers agreed.
“Electric,” Jason mutters like it was a good idea. “Back away.”
Annabeth and Rachel get the message. Jason raises the javelin and thunder breaks open in the sky. Every hair on Della’s arms stands straight up. Lightening arches through the golden spear point and hits the campfire like a ballistic artillery shell explosion.
The smoke clears with a stunned Camp Half-Blood—half-blind and half-covered in dust. Cinders rain down from where the fire was a few seconds ago. A burning log impales itself a few inches from Clovis who sleeps with a loud snore.
A sheepish Jason lowers the lance, “Um…sorry.”
Chiron brushes some burning coals out of his beard. He grimaces as though all his worst fears were confirmed. “A little overkill, perhaps, but you’ve made your point. And I believe we all know who your father is.”
“Jupiter,” Jason says, “I mean Zeus. Lord of the Sky.”
Pandemonium encapsulates the campfire for the millionth time this evening. People keep asking question after question after question. Annabeth raises her arms out,
“Hold it!” she says, “How can he be a son of Zeus? The Big Three…their pact not to have mortal kids….how could we have not known about him sooner?”
Chiron says nothing. He knows the answer Della can tell but he can’t tell them.
“The important thing,” says Rachel, “is that Jason is here now. He has a quest to fulfill, which means he will need his own prophecy.”
She closes her eyes and swoons backward. A couple of campers catch her before she can hit the ground. Another fetches the stool and they ease Rachel onto it. It is rather dark without the fire, but Della sees the familiar green smoke swirl from Rachel’s feet.
She opens her glowing eyes. Emerald smoke issues from her mouth. The voice that emerges is raspy and ancient. Della feels goosebumps along her arms.
“Child of Lightning, beware the earth,
The giants revenge the eight shall birth,
Daughter of the Sea serves as sight,
The forge and dove shall break the cage,
And death unleash through Hera’s rage.”
Rachel collapses on the last word. But she is caught once again. They lay her to rest in a corner.
“Is that normal?” asks Piper. Everyone's eyes land on her. “I mean does she spew green smoke a lot?”
“Gods you’re dense,” Drew sneers, “She just issued a prophecy–Jason’s prophecy to save Hera! Why don’t you–”
“Drew!” Annabeth and Della snap at the same time. Della nods at Annabeth to continue. “Piper asked a fair question. It’s her first day let alone something about that prophecy definitely isn’t normal. If breaking Hera’s cage unleashes her rage and causes a bunch of death…why would we free her? It might be a trap, or-or Hera will turn on her rescuers. She’s never been kind to heroes.”
Jason rises. “I don’t have much of a choice. Hera took my memories. I need it back. Besides, we can’t just not help the queen of the heavens if she’s in trouble.”
Sure we can, Della thinks to herself.
Nyssa from Cabin Nine stands up. “Maybe. But you should listen to Annabeth. Hera can be vengeful. She threw her son–our dad–down a mountain because he was ugly.”
“Really ugly,” snickers someone in Aphrodite’s cabin.
“Shut up!” yells Nyssa. “Anyways we’ve also got to think–why beware the Earth? And what’s the giant’s revenge? What are we dealing with here that’s powerful enough to kidnap the queen of heaven?”
Annabeth sighs, “It’s Jason’s quest, so it’s his choice. Obviously, he’s the Child of Lightning…and the Daughter of the Sea is of course–”
“Me,” Della says. She rises and makes her way towards Jason. “Guess we’re teammates Hercules.”
“That just leaves the other two. Usually, a prophecy only calls for three but this time it calls for four heroes.”
Like their first quest. The quest that kicked off the Second Titan War. Does that mean–
Travis Stolls yells, “Well, you obviously Annabeth. You have the most experience aside from Della.”
“No, Travis,” Annabeth says, “First off, I’m not helping Hera. Every time I’ve tried, she’s deceived me, or it’s come back to bite me later. Forget it. No way. Secondly, I’m leaving again in the morning to look for Percy.”
Della sags at her words. Her first quest without Percy or Annabeth. She hopes Annabeth finds her brother while she’s gone. A part of her tells her that probably won’t happen.
“It’s connected,” Piper blurts out. “You know that’s true, don’t you? This whole business, your boyfriend’s disappearance–it’s all connected.”
“How?” Demands Drew, “If you’re so smart then how?”
Piper’s mouth hangs open like she’s trying to come up with an answer but she can’t.
Annabeth saves her, “You may be right Piper. If this is connected, I’ll find out from the other end–by searching for Percy. As I said I’m not about to rush off to rescue Hera, even if her disappearance sets off the Olympians fighting again. But there’s another reason I can’t go. The prophecy says otherwise.”
“It says who I pick,” says Jason, “We already have the Daughter of the Sea. The forge is the symbol of Vul–” he glances at Della, “Hephaestus.”
Under the Cabin Nine Banner, Nyssa’s shoulders slump like she’s been given an anvil to carry. “If you have to beware the earth,” she says, “you should probably avoid traveling overland. You’ll need air transport.”
“Too bad the chariots at the bottom of the lake,” another kid from the Hephaestus cabin says.
“Anyways,” Nyssa says, “the pegasi, we’re using them to search for Percy. But maybe the Hephaestus cabin can help figure something else out to help. With Jake incapacitated, I’m senior camper. I can volunteer for the quest.”
She sounds horribly unexcited.
Leo stands up. Has he been here the whole time? He’s been super quiet which doesn’t seem to fit.
Several of his cabinmates try to pull him back down, but Leo resists them.
“No, it’s me. I know it is. I’ve got an idea for this transportation problem. Let me try. I can fix this!”
Jason studies him for a moment. Della can already tell he isn’t going to say no.
“We started together Leo. Seems only right you come along. You find us a ride, you’re in.”
“Yes!” Leo pumps his fist.
Della holds back a giggle. Thankfully, Nyssa warns him of the dangers of quests. Leo seems to deflate a bit but brushes it off.
“Well, then it seems you only need to choose the fourth quest member. The dove–”
“Oh absolutely!” Drew scrambles to her feet so fast. She flashes Jason a smile. “The dove is Aphrodite. Everybody knows that. I am totally yours!”
“Ugh, I think I might throw up,” Della pretends to gag.
Piper laughs until she realizes Drew is serious. Her hands clench into fists. “No.”
Drew rolls her eyes. “Oh please, what are you going to do dumpster girl?”
“I had the vision. Not you.”
“Anyone can have a vision. You were just in the right place at the right time.” She turns to Jason, “Look fighting is all fine, and people who have to build things….” I suppose someone has to get their hands dirty. And I suppose Jackson’s guidance is needed. But you need charm on your side. I can be persuasive. I could help a lot.”
Everyone murmurs how right Drew is and Della is trying so hard not to agree.
“Well…” Annabeth says “Given the wording of the prophecy”
“No!” Piper’s voice is different, somewhat richer like a fine wine. “I’m supposed to go.”
Then there were mutters about how Piper has a compelling point. Drew looks ready to throw a dagger.
“Get over it!” Drew snarls, “Besides what can Piper do?”
Piper looks at a loss for words.
“I’m sure she has more modest reasons to go other than just pure vanity Drew,” Della says cooly.
Jason places his hand over his mouth to cover a laugh. There are more mutters in the crowd but no one really seems convinced.
“Well,” Drew says smugly, “I guess that settles it.”
Suddenly, there’s a collective gasp around the fire. Everyone stares at Piper like she’s just exploded.
“What?” Piper asks looking at Della who points at the glowing symbol above Piper’s head.
When Piper glances down she’s in a beautiful sleeveless white gown with a v-neck so low Della would’ve been murdered by Percy. Delicate gold arm bands circle her biceps. An intricate assortment of amber, coral, and gold flowers glitter her chest and hair.
“Oh my god, what’s happened,” Piper says.
Annabeth points at the dagger oiled and gleaming at Piper’s side by a golden chord.
“Holy Shit,” breathes out Della, “I knew it. Piper, you’re gorgeous.”
Drew on the other hand looks ready to die, “No! Not possible!”
“This isn’t me–I don’t understand.”
Chiron folds his front legs and bows to her, and the rest of camp follows his example.
“Hail Piper McLean,” Chiron announces gravelly like he was reading her eulogy, “Daughter of Aphrodite, lady of doves, goddess of love.”
Piper stands there horror-painted her features.
“Hmmm looks like we won’t be needing you after all Drew,” Della says.

Rachel Daly x Reader
Part Eighteen - Before You Go 🔞
Eating your waffle and syrup breakfast in bed that Rachel bought up this morning you couldn’t believe you were leaving for Australia tomorrow. “So as it’s our last night just us before you’re surrounded by 30 other women 24/7, how about we go shopping and I treat you like the queen that you are?” Rach said marched into the room gathering items for her suitcase. “Just like every other day then?” you smiled with honesty, she always makes you feel like the only girl in the world, something no other partner has ever managed to do. “Oh also, I wanna tick off your other fantasy. Yknow.. before we can’t for two months” she stood at the end of bed waiting for your ears to prick up and just as expected, you glanced up from your phone suddenly intrigued with this suggested shopping trip. “How am I gonna keep my hands off you for over a month?” you asked worried for your sanity as you crawled over the bed to grab her. “Maybe I’ll be shit so we can come home sooner” she shrugged jokingly “absolutely not! I’m not dating a loser!” you laughed at her “oh I see how it is, only want me when I’m a winner aih?” acting dramatically hurt by your statement. “Obviously! Otherwise I’ll just have to find someone on the other team so you either win, or lose me and the trophy” you said sarcastically so she knew there was no truth in your statement. “I think a sex ban will be good for us” she changed the subject while wriggling out of your hold to pace between the bedroom and bathroom “yeah we can get to know each other better without wanting to rip each other’s clothes off all the time!” realising as you said this that you practically still didn’t know the woman you’re running to the other side of the globe with. “I doubt you’ll have much time to get to know me though, you’ll be working” you said pensively, wondering if this trip was a good idea after all. “It’s not all work, we have fun days as well, Sarina usually plans days out for us and we’ll get days off too” she informed you as you started to get dressed. Grabbing your phone and keys to drive back home to see your family before leaving the country for nearly two months, you kissed your girl goodbye and started the 90 minute journey.
Packing your suitcase alone in your bedroom gave you time to reflect, the last time you were here Rachel gave you a key to her house and you’ve barely been back here since. Hearing your mum come home you dragged your suitcase downstairs to greet her.
A feeling of guilt washed over you that you hadn’t been home in a while and although you hadn’t officially moved in with Rachel, you’re more there than you are at here now. “You’ve barely known her a month (y/n/n) and now you’re following her halfway around the world” she said with worry in her eyes as you chatted in the kitchen “mum, I know it sounds mad but I’ve never felt like this before” taking her hands to reassure her “I just don’t want you getting hurt darling” she said tentatively stroking your face “she told me she loves me last night mum” you said leaning your cheek into her hand. “Wow that’s quick!” mum’s eyes widened with shock “sometimes someone makes you feel in a month what others haven’t done in years” you smiled thinking about last night and every other night you’d spent with Rach. Mum pursed her lips together in a way to show she’s still not 100% happy with her daughter running off with someone she barely knows, “if you’re sure love, we’ll support you. Do you need anything else, have you had your jabs?” you breathed a sigh of relief that she’d dropped the protective mother act for now, she still treats you like a child but I guess that’s a mother’s prerogative. You told her you’ve got an appointment to have the jabs later and asked if she’s going to be okay without you. She laughed and said it’s not your job to halt your life to look after her. Besides, her boyfriend will be around a lot knowing you’re not going to pop in whenever you fancied coming home. You squirmed at the thought “ewwww mum!” you screeched. “What? You don’t stop having sex when you’re my age!” her remarks made you stick your fingers in your ears and LALALALA jokingly. “I hope you have the best time (y/n/n), don’t elope while you’re out there!” which made you laugh, “mum it’s definitely too soon for that! You’ll be there when… if I get married one day!” squeezing her hands in yours. “Anybody would be lucky to have you honey, I hope Rachel knows how lucky she is” the protectiveness coming out as she started to stroke your face again “she tells me every day mum” as you both finished the conversation smiling, mum was happy for you and came out to wave you off. You saw your sister, dad and grandparents next then went for your jabs before swinging past your old workplace.
Walking up the stairs to the office you checked your phone to see Rachel had posted on insta again, this is the most she’s posted in months! It was the group photo of the team, you and your friends at the club and she’d tagged everyone in it which you thought was cute. Georgia and Katie showed you that Rach and Millie had started following them and George had a message from Lucy “hey you x” simply. George said she’s probably just being friendly and didn’t want to look too much into it so just replied with ‘good luck in the World Cup!’ You had a good chat about the trip and how you still didn’t know how you were getting there or where you were staying, you’ve never been this spontaneous before but there’s something about that girl that makes you want to follow her anywhere. They had to get back to work so you put the radio on and started the 90 minute drive back up north.
Arriving at Rachel’s house you’d dumped your suitcase at the bottom of the stairs and was doing last minute checks for your passport, plane ticket, hotel documentation and visa while Rachel browsed her phone next to you. “I’ve had so many emails asking us to do interviews” she mentioned “you and Millie?” you said not really paying her any attention. “No, me and you!” she exclaimed making your ears prick up. “What is happening right now, am I still asleep?” you laughed wondering how you had got here “Podcasts, magazines, papers - there’s loads!” Rachel showed you the list of emails requesting not just her but you too. “The girls sent me loads of articles about us last night!” you passed your phone to Rachel to look at them “I’m kinda famous now” chuckling at the thought that you’re news worthy. “There’s even a fan account of us, not just you, me too!” your voice a lot more excitable now. “You are cute yknow (y/n/n)” she laughed at you as she scrolled through your phone reading the articles, everyone’s talking about you two. “I’m gonna set up some of these interviews, do you want to be a part of them or not?” it was nice that she asked consent before shining the spotlight on you. “I’m not sure I’ll be any good, do you want me to be a part of them?” hoping her answer would be no. “Well they have asked for both of us, so yeah? They clearly want to know our story and not just about football. We could start with Jill’s podcast, Coffee Club? That’ll be a relaxed vibe” she said trying to think of ways to ease you in to her world. You love Coffee Club and told her to do whatever she thinks is best as you leant over to kiss her. “Errrm, what is this?” Rachel asked turning your phone around for you to see she’d found the engagement rings you were looking at last night. “Inspiration?” you cringed. “For what, I’m gonna do the proposing” she said matter of factly. You thought she’d be weirded out by her find but instead just wanted to argue over which one of you does the proposing when the time comes, which was nice really. Most people would want to run a mile if they found out you were looking at rings a month into the relationship, but not Rachel. You pointed out the styles that caught your eye, Rach said she liked simple, more of a band but with sparkles and you both agreed on silver. “How would you wear it if you’re not allowed jewellery on the pitch?” you questioned “I’d have to take it off or you could wear it, see it makes more sense just me proposing” she said with a cocky smile “no, I want to propose too, I want you to have something that shows you’re mine” you whined to try and get your own way “is the tattoo not enough babe?” she laughed “it’s not obvious is it, you wouldn’t notice it unless you knew it was there. If you wanna know if someone’s single you look for a ring, not a tattoo” you pushed back with your argument “what if I get a tattoo on my ring finger?” she suggested “yeah of my face!” you laughed jokingly “don’t actually do that though! I know what you’re like now!”
Laying back down on the bed you held her arm to scan her other tattoos, you asked what each one was for and she explained the meaning of each one on her body. You were surprised to know that she put your initials on her family arm, which made the gesture even more adorable. She showed you her first, worst and favourite then asked you about yours. You had a lot less than her, you have loads that you want but never had money spare to get them. “I’m more of a leg tattoo girl than arms, I want them covered” you said explaining the designs you want and where. “Throwing shade are we?” she looked at you sternly. “Not at all! Arm sleeves are hot but I think they’re for a certain type of woman and that’s not me” attempting to explain your point “girls with arm sleeves are always strong and athletic, leg tattoos are a bit more grungey, rock n roll yknow” you smiled innocently. “I’m learning a lot about you today (y/l/n)!” she said playing with your hair. “I never grew out of my emo phase” laughing as you flicked through your Spotify playlists, “mate, I never had one!” You looked shocked but not surprised, Rach didn’t seem like the type of person that had an emo phase “well they do say opposites attract” smiling as she held your head back to kiss her.
You laid in each other’s arms for a while daydreaming about your futures - pets, kids, dreams and aspirations, you’ve always wanted to be a radio presenter, Rachel encouraged this for you and said podcasts is the first step to that. She called Jill to find out when she wanted you both on the show, she suggested recording it later today before we leave and asked some of the questions so you could prepare then asked Rach if there’s anything she does or doesn’t want you to talk about. Not Millie and Levi breaking up or anything obviously private but she was happy to say about how we met.
You helped Rachel pack the rest of her things and asked when Millie was coming home, she was seeing her family and would be back later. You did the podcast with Jill and it just felt like a nice chat between friends, Millie came home halfway through and joined in too. She asked about how we met and how you’re adjusting to people knowing who you are - you said it was pretty cool at the moment. Rachel spoke about previous relationships and wanting to keep them private but doesn’t want that now, she’s proud of you and wants to show you off to the world which was adorable. She asked about the very recent “I love you” and if you see it going further - Rach was very quick to answer that question. She asked Millie if it’s weird having to share her best friend but she said it’s even better because now she has two, you thought that was the cutest thing ever. She spoke about the World Cup and asked if I was going, you said you were and was very excited for your first tournament. You spoke about your friend’s and family’s reactions when they found out you were dating a Lioness - sceptical but excited. The last question was what’s in our future. Rachel said after the tournament you’re planning a holiday, marriage is definitely on the cards and after she retires she looks forward to a quiet life but that won’t be for a long time yet as there’s lots more trophies to be won for now. Jill finished recording and said how happy she was for us, stating that Rachel is the happiest she’s ever been while knowing her. Millie ended with “(y/n)’s friends have told me she’s the happiest they’ve ever known her to be too” which was sweet. Everything was cute. Everything was perfect and you’ve never been more loved up before.
Later on in the day you dropped Rach at St James Park for a last minute meeting before the World Cup, kissing goodbye in the doorway Rachel held her debit card between two fingers as she held it out towards you. “I want you to go buy everything we need for your fantasy and then meet me at home” she said quietly “which one?” you smirked knowing you couldn’t count on both hands the things you want to do with her. “The one with the short little skirt” she said incredibly close to your mouth so nobody could hear or lip read what she said then pecked your lips, lingering for a second and walked backwards towards her team before turning and jogging away.
Arriving home with your bags from shopping you knew Rach would be home soon. Stumbling over the suitcases dumped in the lounge you climbed upstairs to the en-suite to freshen up. Rushing to get ready until you heard her key rattling in the door.
She knew you were home and not seeing you in the lounge or kitchen made her way upstairs to find you. Pushing the bedroom door open to see you sitting on the bed. Legs crossed, stockings above your knees, black high heels, tiny little skirt with your blouse exposing your your lingerie underneath. Swinging handcuffs around your finger she couldn’t help but launch herself on top of you, falling back on to the bed and rolling around in the sheets. Her hand slipped up your skirt and onto your arse biting hard on your lip before pulling away. Foreheads together, breaths heightened, hair dishevelled “tell me exactly how you want me to do this” she said kissing behind your ear. “Behind my back please” you said passing her the handcuffs and batting your eyelashes. Rachel clicked the metal rings around your wrists and asked if they felt okay “tighter please” you asked innocently. Clicking them in once more her fingers pulled your shirt down to expose your shoulder, her lips kissed up your neck as her hand held between your legs over your skirt. Already feeling turned on she span you around to face her “next?” she asked tucking the loose strands of hair behind your ear. Pointing to the bag on the floor with your eyes and pulling out a paddle and plug her eyebrows raised in an approving manner, her mouth turned up into a smirk as she turned to look at you. “Sit down” you demanded, even in handcuffs you’re the dominant one. Laying your body over her knees “you know the rest” you said winking at her as she grabbed your waist to reposition you comfortably. Stroking your arse she landed a slap over the top of your skirt then lifted it over your hips, feeling her hand meet your skin for the first time made you jolt, the slaps got harder as she wrapped your hair around her fist lifting your head up, to look at her, in between each slap she softly rubbed to take away the sting. As she grabbed the paddle the smacks got louder and harder making you start to yelp. She released your hair to cover your mouth with her hand, spanking you harder and faster until your cheeks were bright red. Pulling your thong aside and grabbing the lube, she slowly pushed the plug inside making you moan. Reaching between your legs she slid her fingers through your lips until she found your clit, circling around and making you squirm before her fingers found their way inside you. Plunging her fingers in and pulling out as quickly as she entered, she did this enough until she could feel you dripping through to her bare legs.
Helping you stand up she undressed you completely then guided you to the window, she knew there’d be no one around for miles as she pressed your face into it. The cold glass pane immediately making your nipples hard. Moving your hair to kiss your neck and bite your ear lobe “spread those legs for me baby” you did what she said “perfect” with one last kiss on your shoulder before dropping to her knees between them. Your knees buckled at her tongue’s touch held up by her arms wrapped around your thighs keeping you firmly on her face. It didn’t take you long with all the fore play to get to your tipping point, releasing over her. Your legs unable to hold you any longer as she guided you down onto her lap. Holding your back against her chest her hand reached between your legs. You begged her to stop as you shook uncontrollably but she refused holding your neck and telling you to shut up. Linking her feet around yours to keep your legs apart you wished you worked out so you could over power her but you couldn’t and had to succumb to being forced to cum again. Rach cradled you in her arms until your breath returned back to normal, unlocking the handcuffs from your wrists she kissed the red marks underneath them. “Was that how you imagined it?” She asked between kissing over your body “waaay better than I imagined” finally able to stroke her face “you’re my favourite fucking human” she whispered through kisses “your turn next!” you giggled rolling on top of her so she couldn’t escape, pinning her wrists into the floor.
Kissing down her neck and pulling her shirt apart to circle her nipple before taking it into your mouth to suck. Looking up at her to maintain eye contact, you grazed your teeth then moved to the other, flicking it with your tongue to find out what she liked most. Your fingers stroked the inside of her thighs then moved between her legs and under her pants, running your fingers along her lips teasingly. Your girl moaned longing to feel your touch, you desperately wanted to touch her too but decided it would be fun to tease her longer. You felt her hand move to the back of your neck squeezing tightly “please” she whined under her breath “you need to learn to be patient” you spoke egotistically. Her eyes opened wide to look at you “are you really gonna make me beg?” she pleaded “hmm, I like that idea” her suggestion turned you into the smug one. “Go on then. Beg.” you demanded gently running one finger along her but not hard enough to part her lips. She scoffed at you in disbelief “well if you don’t want to…” you proposed slowly starting to pull your hand out of her pants “no, no wait! I’ll beg!” Stopping your actions to move your hand back to where it was as she took a long breath in “please touch me” she said pathetically “look at me Daly” grabbing her chin and moving her to face you, opening her eyes to look at you immediately turned her weak “please baby, I need you to touch me, my clit is throbbing and my pants are soaked.” As she spoke her legs spread wider making you bite your bottom lip, longing to touch her but wanting to make her wait as long as possible. “(Y/n) please baby, I love you” she winced. Those words cinched it as you parted her lips to feel how wet she truly was, the feeling made you gasp. “Take your pants off” your commands met as she did what you said without hesitation then spread her legs wide just for you. Your breathing became heavy as you took in the view of her perfect vulva glistening under the lights. Raising her hips gesturing for you to finally touch her, you had to have her too. Using very light and slow touches to tease her gently knowing at this point she’ll just want you inside her or your face between her, you knew going slow would feel like torture. Taking your time before introducing another finger to circle in the other direction, constantly watching the way she moves and the faces she pulls. Her back arched off the bed as she moved herself closer to you, knowing she was finding it hard being patient. “The more you do that the more I’ll slow down” you told her, “that’s not fair” she whined incessantly “do it yourself then” you smirked pulling your body away from her. She tutted as you picked up her hand and slipped her fingers into your mouth then placed her own hand between her legs. Watching her intently turn herself on you so desperately wanted to touch her, the pleas were hard to ignore but you stuck to your guns. Moving away from the bottom of her body and laying beside her so your face was next to hers. Her puppy dog eyes staring at you longing for your touch again, stroking the hair out of her face and tracing her nipple with your finger continuing the light and gentle touches drove her near insanity. “I want you-“ she managed before gasping. “you want me what?” you knew exactly what she wanted but continued to toy with her. “You. I want you” her tone turning forceful “you’ve got me silly” she’d finally had enough of your shit as she climbed on top of you and shoved her fingers into your mouth. “You like the taste?“ nodding at her dominance coming back “if you’re not going to give it to me, I’m going to take it for myself” planting herself on top of your face.
You let her have her fun riding you until you felt the cold metal of the handcuffs slide across the mattress and touch your hips. You waited until you could tell she was close then in one swift move lifted her off you and cuffed her wrists to the headrest. Rach barely had any time to process what had happened but your face took no time to find it’s place between her thighs, lifting her legs up and over your shoulders longing to be wedged into place by her quads. Building her back up to her high point your fingers entered making her eyes roll back and her hips buck against your face, her mouth open with only small sounds escaping. “I’m gonna miss your fingers inside me baby” gasping as she tightened her grip around your head. Finding little pockets of air to breath you were held there until her release came. Sitting up onto your knees as her legs flopped to the side from exhaustion you kept your fingers inside her, as you released the cuffs from her hands you made little movements to trick her body into going again. Throughout the night you came an endless amount of times all over the house, knowing that for two months you wouldn’t be allowed to touch each other at all.

it was about your actual eldest daughter quinn cisswap fic :D
hahahaha thank you for clarifying <3 even though it would have been a delightful message either way
i'm so pleased to hear it though! i love her so much, i am slowly but doggedly plugging away at that fic in the precious free time i have and i am looking forward to hopefully one day share her with you and the five other people who are excited to read her story. also it's been a while since i wrote a female protagonist and it's been such a fun and interesting writing process digging into how the gender of it all does or doesn't change things.
anyway! have a little snippet of exposition!! <3
Technically, Quinn met Brady before they were fifteen. The elite hockey world is small, and they played with and against each other at various youth tournaments, but fifteen is when everything really started. Women in the NHL were no longer brand new, although still treated like a novelty — as if that’s ever going to change — but having girls in the national team development program was still in the experimental stages. After all, international competition was still strictly gendered. Someone had convinced the powers that be that if the best girls in the game were legitimately shooting for the NHL now, then it was good for the Americans to at least present the illusion of equal institutional support, the same way Sweden and Finland were doing. Can’t be falling behind the Europeans.
So the program wanted Quinn. Her parents, despite her years on boys’ teams and her tenuous commitment to Michigan, whose D-I hockey team did not historically include girls, had expressed some reservations about sending her off to live in an environment that was 90% teen boys before her sixteenth birthday. They were supportive, yeah, but they kept asking about special accommodations — a phrase that Quinn at fifteen loathed, feeling that it highlighted a difference between her and the boys that she would prefer for everyone to just forget about. But Brady, obviously, was also program-bound, and at a spring tournament in Wisconsin, Quinn’s coach connected Quinn’s parents with Keith and Chantal. Their dads already knew each other from years in the league: Jim behind the bench and in front offices, Keith on the ice. Both families familiar with the other from years of running in the same circles. The Tkachuks, it turned out, had a place in Ann Arbor while their boys were in the program, and they would be happy to let Quinn have the basement apartment, if some guaranteed parental supervision from a take-no-shit NHL veteran would put everyone’s minds at ease.
Brady, tall and gangly with his sweaty curls matted to his head, had watched the adults deliberating for half a minute, then turned to Quinn, stuck his hand out, and said, “Hey, how ya doing? That was a sick goal from the point your last game. Seriously, hell of a shot. I pointed it out to my dad and he was like, well, yeah, Brady, you could do that too if you didn’t have legs like spaghetti noodles. So I guess it’s gonna be leg day every day this summer.”
Quinn, once she had processed all of this, her hand still being shaken, had said, “Uh, yeah, looks like you could really use some work in that department.” Then she winced internally, because, yeah, great first impression on the kid whose parents were brokering her path to the NHL right at that moment. But Brady just laughed.
“So you think you’re gonna come to the program?” he asked.
Quinn nodded at the council of grown-ups. “If they let me, yeah.”
“They’ll let you. You’re too good not to go,” Brady said, so breezily assured that for a moment Quinn forgot why she had doubts. “It’s great. You’ll love it. My brother is there and he loves it. He says it’s not weird at all having girls around. I mean, like, obviously, we’ve got Nicky and Rach on our team right now and they’re great so I didn’t think it would be weird anyway. But Matthew says—” he laughed again, shaking his head “—he says, ‘just remember, you can hit them, but don’t hit on them, and it’ll all be fine.’”
Despite herself, by this point, Quinn was grinning. “Sounds like a pretty good rule.”
“Yeah, he’s a knucklehead, but sometimes he pops out a gem like that,” Brady said.
“Brothers are usually knuckleheads.”
“True. Wait, hey.”
Quinn gave him a sidelong look, one eyebrow raised. He slugged her in the shoulder.
“Quinny, come here a sec,” her mom said, and that’s how Quinn wound up living in Brady Tkachuk’s basement for two years.

The One With the Stain (Joey Tribbiani x Reader)
This is when Joey is being really sweet to Rachel and makes the living room into an area for the baby. (I’m trying not to include spoilers, so...) In this, you and Joey have been in a relationship for some time now and you live together. This also says that you want children and implies some smut
You and Joey are in the living room, transforming it into a space for Rachel’s baby.
“What is this?” Rachel enters the apartment, looking over the place.
“Hey!” Joey exclaims, looking a little too enthusiastic, “Uh, this is just to give you an idea. Okay well, we can put screens here,” He gestured to the crib, “So that the baby has privacy.”
You interjected, pointing above the crib, smiling sheepishly, “Maybe a mobile over the crib?”
“And look!” Joey interrupts you and holds up a baby monitor, “Here’s a baby monitor, which until the baby comes we can use as walkie-talkies. Huh?” He suggests.
“You two are so sweet!” Rachel moves towards the crib, “Oh my god!” Rachel picked up Hugsy, who was laying the crib and you internally cringed, “And you gave the baby Hugsy!”
“Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!” Joey immediately grabbed Hugsy and carefully sat him on his chair, “That-that-that’s really just to show where the baby would go. Y’know, why don’t I hold on to him so that there’s no confusion?“ You can see Joey apologize to Hugsy and you hold back a chuckle.
“But guys, the baby is going to be crying, and it’s going to be loud.” Rachel says, looking pitiful and sorry for you two.
“I’m loud!” Joey counters, gesturing wildly.
“Yep!” You agree.
“It’s gonna be up all night!” Rachel groans.
“I’m up all night!” Joey cries.
“Yes you are.” You mutter, rubbing your tired eyes.
“It’s gonna poop!”
“Hello!” Joey yells out.
“What about you, Y/n?” Rachel turns to you, sighing, “Won’t this interrupt your and Joey’s... love life?”
You smile, “Rach, I’m not leaving just because of your baby. If anything, it’ll be good practice for... one day.” You look at Joey to see a surprised look on his face, “And I love you and your baby! We are not leaving!” You reiterate, holding onto her shoulders and then bringing her into a hug.
“Exactly!” Joey adds, “And if things get really bad, then we’ll just do it in the bathroom of the club!”
“S-Sure.” You hesitate.
“Are you sure?” Rachel asks again.
“Yeah!” Joey calls out, being louder than he usually is, “All right—Look, I know sometimes it’ll be hard, okay? But, it’ll also be really…really great. Please Rachel! I really want you to stay. W-We really want you to stay.”
You nod along, smiling kindly, “And the fact that Joey is putting this much effort into showing you that he wants you to stay says a lot!”
“I want me to stay too!” Rachel admits, “Thank you both so much.” She brings you both into a tight hug. “Oh!” She presses a hand to her head, “I think I might lie down.”
“Okay.”
You and Joey stand in the living room, his arm around your waist and your head on his shoulder.
Joey notices you looking at the crib, longingly, “What did you mean by practice?” He asks.
“Hmm?” You hum, not registering his words.
“You said that the baby would be good practice.”
“Oh. That.” You chuckle awkwardly, “I don’t know. I want kids eventually, and with Rachel’s baby around, we could pick up a few tips and such.”
“We?” Joey looks at you, a mixture between a smile and smirk on his lips.
“Well I don’t know.” You mumble, looking at the floor, “I’m not planning on breaking up with you, so unless you wanna cut ties, then you’re stuck with me for the foreseeable future.”
“Well, I’m not gonna break up with you,” Joey says, his smile growing, “But we’ve never really talked about our future. And you want kids? You wanna get married?”
“Yeah.” You blushed, glancing up at him, “I want a future with you. I want kids with you.”
Joey pulled you close, kissing you roughly, “Then I guess we should start right now.” He drags you towards the bedroom.
You kiss him back but ask, “What about Rachel?”
Joey growls, kissing you again, “She had sex with Ross, I can have sex with you!”
“Fair enough.”
