what TV relatively forgotten shows and movies have you found in your years of watching and giffing 70’s-80’s VHS tapes to be worth a look?

Wayyyyyyyy too many movies to mention, but a few underrated and underseen (trying to stay away from the obvious ones) 80s and 90s* TV shows that are worth a watch are:

Max Headroom (1987-1988) The dystopian sci-fi show, not the late night talk show, although that one's also good.

Night Flight (1981-1988) Variety/cult/foreign/musical/short films/etc. anthology series.

Liquid Television (1991-1995) Animation anthology from the glory days of MTV featuring highly entertaining and wildly creative stuff like The Specialists and Running Man (走る男) and the original Æon Flux and Beavis & Butthead shorts.

The Adventures of Pete & Pete (1991-1996) Wistful, autumnal, nostalgic childhood comedy/drama from Nickelodeon.

Spartakus and the Sun Beneath the Sea (1985-1987) Bizarre French cartoon that also aired on Nickelodeon for a few years in the 80s.

Parker Lewis Can't Lose (1990-1993) Well-written, fast-paced early FOX network high school comedy.

Beakman's World (1992-1997) Like Bill Nye the Science Guy but weirder and better.

Get a Life (1990-1992) Absurdist sitcom from the mind of Chris Elliot.

The Ben Stiller Show (1990-1993) Sketch comedy show featuring Bob Odenkirk, Janeane Garofalo and murderer/cokehead Andy Dick.

The Tick (1994-1996) Cult favorite cartoon from Bed Edlund and writer/storyboard artist Christopher McCulloch (Jackson Publick) which is in many ways the superhero-themed version of the super-science/boy adventurer-themed cult favorite The Venture Brothers.

Square One Television (1987-1991) Humorous math-based educational program on PBS, the highlight of which was a Dragnet parody segment called Mathnet.

. . . aaaaaand that's all I can think of at the moment!

(* I'm more of an expert on those decades than I am the 70s.)
