Amor Mortis
clexa vampire au | I/V | clextober22
Part I - Prologus
Darkness engulfs her. It seems to pay no mind to the open window lining the whole of her wall of her bedroom, ignoring so completely the drawn curtains where moonlight should pass through and illuminate her entire being, instead making itself scarce.
Something moves then, deliberate swiftness, a shadow darker than the blackness that surrounds her. It crawls towards her, approaching her with prudence, careful not to frighten her.
A beast on the hunt.
Lexa demands for her hands to grasp the sheets and hide her face away from the mass crawling it’s way towards her but her body stays unmoving, petrified in a feeling akin to fearful excitement.
A delightful terror.
Her breathing fills the room, a symphonic crescendo of gasps that reach it’s climax once the shadow reaches the foot of her bed. Featureless yet so familiar, Lexa is certain this demonic angel has visited her before; a recurring presence in her feverish dreams that so often border the line of nightmaric pleasure. It has touched her surface, the coldness of it’s hand on her warm skin, pink lips so marvelous against her bare body.

What the Ground Gave Us - Clextober22
Tumblr media
Lexa turns around one last time to blow a kiss to Clarke, her eyes shimmering softly, apologetically.
“I’ll be back when I can, croí álainn.”  The words are almost lost in the wind that whips sharply around them, but Clarke, unerringly drawn to Lexa’s lip as she is, catches them and the slight, half smile that follows.
Clarke smiles softly back at her love as Lexa carefully wraps the coat around her, blending into the dark, writhing sea as she carefully walks into the waves. Her face drops back into a heartbroken frown as Lexa turns away, joyfully diving under the cold water with barely a ripple.
When she surfaces she isn’t human at all but the sleek, beautiful seal that Clarke had seen for months prior to their actual meeting. Large dark eyes watching her from the distant waves as Clarke went about her life on the coast, dutiful daughter of a fisherman.
Miles away from shore, Clarke can barely make out the glint of other sleek heads as they bob in the sea, waiting for Lexa to join them.
Sinking to the shoreline, Clarke watches Lexa go until she can barely make her out through the depths of the night. She stays on the rocky beach until she isn’t sure if the dampness on her cheeks is tears or the spray of seawater as it flings onto the shoreline, dancing up to lap at her toes before retreating back into the depths.
Always returning, never staying.

Clextober 2022: "A Post-Apocalyptic Halloween"
In the years following the Outbreak, the Fireflies have been convening as many medical minds as they can find to develop a treatment. Lexa Woods has been charged to bring one such mind safely across the country: Clarke Griffin, a medical student trained before the world went to hell. But when they get separated from the rest of their group, they need to traverse an abandoned shopping mall…and find a few Halloween surprises along the way.
Read Part 1 on Ao3.
“Do you remember Auntie Anne’s pretzels?” Clarke makes a whistling sound and Lexa winces. Does she plan to attract every Runner in the area’s attention? “Fuck, what I wouldn’t give for some of that fake cheese sauce.”
Lexa rolls her eyes - for her own benefit, as Clarke is still picking her way around puddles behind her. “Quiet, please.”
Clarke huffs and Lexa imagines a similar expression gracing her face, framed by persistent blond curls. “I might take Infected for company, at this rate,” comes the response, and from much closer than Lexa realized. When she turns around the doctor is just a few feet behind her, fingers twitching at the pistol strapped to her thigh despite her words.
The woman moves surprisingly quietly when she wants to, apparently.
Being briefly impressed doesn’t stop her from reprimanding: “You might get Infected for company at this rate.”
“I thought you said this place was cleared.”
“It was. Several times.” One last hop brings her back to ground level and Lexa fixes the angle of her flashlight as she comes around the side of the info stand. Sure enough, there’s a directory. Finally. “Doesn’t guarantee it’s safe. Infected have a bad habit of moving around.”
“The fact that it needed clearing several times does seem to indicate that is the case, yes.”
Lexa closes her eyes and takes a deep breath to center herself. When she’d been assigned to escort Dr. Griffin across the country to UEC, she’d jumped at the chance. It isn’t every day you get to prove your worth to the Fireflies by bringing one of the only currently living experts in infectious diseases, trained before the outbreak, to the best research facility still in existence. The doctor is young and her training was incomplete, but it’s better than nothing. It’s a lot better than nothing.
However, the woman herself is certainly something. Clarke, as she insists on being called, is not exactly the quiet doctor-type that Lexa recalls seeing on television when televisions still did more than gather dust. She is in fact rather opinionated, rather trigger happy, if well-trained in using a gun, and rather loud.
When she isn’t sneaking up on her, that is.
“Hey!” she crows from just over her shoulder, and Lexa whips around once more, expecting trouble – but the young doctor is merely peering at the mall directory as well, a grin on her lips. Her lips which are now incredibly close to Lexa, as she’s standing a scant few inches behind her. “Looks like they had one of those Halloween stores open before the outbreak started.”
Her heart still very much in her throat, Lexa takes a few slow breaths as she follows Clarke’s pointing finger. Squinting at the name she reads, “...a Spirit Halloween?”

Alternate Route Available [rerouting; signal lost] - Clextober22
Tumblr media
A Clextober22 one shot - Read on AO3
"Do you believe in alternate universes?" Clarke asks quietly. A big question for nearly 3 in the morning in their living room, each of them in their pajamas and not quite fully awake.
"I don't know," Lexa answers after a moment. "Is that what you think that place was? An alternate universe?"
Clarke closes her eyes. Works on breathing deeply, in through her nose and out through her mouth, feeling her belly rising and falling.
"Honestly?"
Lexa waits.
"I think it was hell."
OR what I've been calling "backwoods gas station hell portal AU" for the past several months since I wrote this.

@clextober22 - Day 22: Nightmares
Ꝋ𐌅 𐌃𐌓𐌄𐌀𐌌𐌔 𐌀𐌍𐌃 𐌃𐌀𐌓𐌊𐌍𐌄𐌔𐌔
Summary:
Lexa Woods is a happy woman. She has a job that she enjoys, is in love with the most amazing woman, and is on her way to making new partners in her business. A perfect life if one could say. However, when the night comes, dreams of darkness plague her. An imposing tower looms over her and she feels haunted. As if death itself was knocking on her door. Lexa doesn’t understand what’s the meaning of it. Maybe she shouldn’t worry at, it’s almost Halloween and she must be influenced by it. After all, it’s just a nightmare, is it not?

Eternity In Your Arms
By: TalktomeinClexa
Rating: Mature
Warnings: Biting and Blood (I mean, it's a vampire story...)
Status: WIP (1/2)
Summary: How far will Clarke go to save her dying brother? Will she dare make a deal with a creature of the night as beautiful as she’s ancient?
***
Chapter 1: The Monsters Come At Night
“Get out of here,” the large man yelled, his rubicund face red with anger.
He didn’t dare to grab the girl, too afraid of catching the plague decimating her family one member at a time. His tone, however, would have made a weaker soul cower — someone who still had something to lose.
“Please,” the maiden begged, the resolve in her eyes contrasting with her voice weak from lack of food. “Winter is almost here. We need blankets, furs, anything that will protect us from the cold.”
The merchant stepped forward, using his superior size to force her back. “To hell with you! You’ll scare away the customers. Leave before my whip finds your skin.”
Defeated, the young woman fled the stall and its heartless owner. She hurried down the village’s dirt roads, her head low and a shawl covering her blond hair as best as possible. Stubbornly, she refused to let her tears fall, even when children recognized her and threw old tomatoes at her to chase her away. She endured their parents’ contempt and fear-rooted hatred without flinching; those ignorant little monsters were nothing to her.
Once she was out of Arkadia, the glares and threats mercifully ended. The villagers rarely went out once the sun began to disappear behind the trees, and none ever took the narrow path leading to her hut.
Clarke headed for the forest first, her stomach growling under her thin dress. She hadn’t eaten anything since a handful of roots for supper the night before. Another day like that, and she would collapse, too exhausted to continue.
For a moment, she considered lying on the cold ground, face turned toward the sky, and closing her eyes. Bending under the weight of her sorrows and finding the eternal respite she craved. The rest she deserved after taking care of her sick parents for months, after all the efforts she put in only to bury her father and then her mother. If God had any mercy left, He would reclaim her soul quickly and without pain, pulling it from under her gaunt face with a strong gust of wind.
“Not yet,” she growled, forcing herself to take another step between the trees. She couldn’t give up, not when one person remained, counting on her.
Fate wasn’t done with her, it seemed. A dead rabbit lay in the snare she had placed in the morning. A small gesture, but enough to feed the two Griffins and give her the strength to get up the following day. Foxes and wolves abounded in the forest, and she untied the carcass and pocketed it before they came to fight her for it. She repositioned the trap with care — hopefully, there would be another rabbit in the morning — and returned home.
They hadn’t always lived in the crude hut. Long ago, when her parents still drew breath, they owned a house near the center of Arkadia. With her father working as an architect and her mother as a healer and a midwife, they had enough to be comfortable. Everyone knew the Griffin family could be relied on, and their neighbors didn’t hesitate to visit them often. Until Jacob Griffin caught the plague while working in the city.
Her mother did everything in her power to stop or slow the disease, to no avail. Soon, Abigail became sick, too, leaving Clarke to care for both of them. And when Jacob died and the news of their affliction spread, they became pariahs. Shun by the village, the young woman and her brother had no choice but to move to that abandoned cabin at the edge of the forest.
They buried their mother two weeks later, away from the grotty habitation, hoping to rid themselves of the disease. Alas, their precaution wasn’t enough.

Clextober 2022! Please Read!
Hey Everyone, October is near and that means its Clextober time! I had an idea to keep Clextober going for everyone who enjoys it. Would you all be interested in a more relaxed event? Rather than having a specific day for each prompt I can post a master list of 31 prompts/ideas and everyone can choose which ones they like and share their content with that tag at any point during the month of October? Think of it similar to the 31 nights of Halloween on ABC Family/Freeform but for Clextober.   You can pick 1 or as many as you would like. If any one wants to submit prompt ideas to be added to the list you can, just have them all submitted by Saturday the 10th. And I will then try to post the master list for the 31 nights of Clextober 🎃

if the silence takes you then i hope it takes me, too
///
Clarke shivers as the wind whips icily around her, pulling her thick black peacoat tighter to her frame as she hunches her shoulders for a brief respite from the chill. Frost sparkles brightly on the long grass, the cool glow of moonlight bathing the fringes of the forest with silvery light. A murder of crows sits silently on the wire fence that stands at the far end of the field, soft cawing occasionally breaking the deadly still of the night. Clarke counts seven, goosebumps raising on the back of her neck as every pair of beady eyes tracks her progress through the yard.
Dried, browned leaves dance across the frozen ground, spinning and twirling in the wake of the breeze. The soft crunch underfoot is the only noise that echoes through the eerie stillness of the field, save for the loud pounding of Clarke’s heartbeat as it rushes through her ears.
She reaches for the small talisman in her pocket, trying to draw comfort from its solid presence as she stares up at the derelict barn that sits at the far corner of the clearing, sagging with age and neglect. What was once a fence lies in pieces in front of the building, broken. Rotting wood stands at awkward angles, jagged teeth that punch the broken surface of the ground. Clarke silently skirts a rusted bed frame that sits slumped by a corner of the barn, pulling her coat in so she doesn’t snag on any exposed pieces.

"She was making her way into the bathing room when from it a tall figure launched forward, toward her but not reaching as she backed away angling her knife at the figure when she noticed fur.
"Aaaggrrr!" The animal said, not sounding very animalistic at all, which gave Lexa a pause. The figure let out a very distinguish laugh which the commander was very used to hearing, before the bear head was thrown back as a hood and blonde hair made its appearance"
