the excessive desire to stay in your bed

terrible. what a terrible thing it is. to be bound to your bed. to wallow in your suffering. to rot away. it’s terrible. but it’s all you could find yourself willing to do at this point. you didn’t have the strength to do something as simple as getting up anymore. not when you’d feel the same hollowing emptiness within yourself no matter where you went. you’d be just as sad, you think, you’d just be less comfortable. so you didn’t budge.

you wonder how long it’d been. minutes? hours? days? it was impossible to tell. when every second blended together into the same vague feeling of misery. time had lost its value. it meant nothing to you anymore. not when you had nothing to look forward to. when every moment felt like an eternity of its own. similar to time most things had lost value. even your own life had lost its worth to you. and as much as you wanted to say you lost your worth to others as well, it’d be nothing but a lie. a lie because you know it would never lose value in his eyes.

the door creaked open. a drawn out and ugly noise that interrupted the deafening silence of your room. the squeaking of hinges and grinding of wood against wood, no doubt caused by the door being unfitting for the frame, was impossible to ignore. your half-lidded eyes flicked up to the source of the sound. in walked the only person it possibly could have been. the only person who both knew your location and had any interest in seeking you out. his eyes met yours and for a brief moment you wondered if he was planning on simply standing there and staring. but he moved closer, shutting the door behind him. silently, he pulled off his ushanka tossing it to the desk and came to sit on the edge of the bed.

it was quiet at first. he didn’t say anything, wasn’t even looking in your direction. and you didn’t speak either. only gazing at his face with vague interest. you were both expressionless and the scene would no doubt have been confusing to anyone who walked in. but no one would walk in. if there was one thing you were sure of, it's that you and fyodor had as long as you needed together, uninterrupted. and even if someone did, who cares for their opinion? if they wanted to take your silence and one sided staring competition as odd, so be it. you couldn’t care less for the opinions of anyone at this time. not when something so sacred, so vulnerable and tender was about to occur.

fyodor was never good at this kind of thing. sure, he could spin lies and make others dance to his whims like puppets on a string. but when it came to this. to genuine love and affection. to being vulnerable. or having someone so willing to be vulnerable with him, he was at a loss for what to do. fyodor loves you. of course he loves you. he loves you more than anything in the world. but he doesn’t know how to show it. and he doesn’t know how to help you.

“milaya…” he began, cutting through the swollen silence. “i prepared you dinner. please join me to eat.”

“mm not hungry.” you groaned, sinking further into the mattress.

“i know you aren’t. but you ‘haven’t been hungry’ for days. i’m worried for you… please.”

it was so unlike him. in comparison to an average person his voice might appear toneless and flat. but knowing him as long as you did each and every subtle inflection spoke thousands of words. ‘please.’ he didn’t say please. fyodor was not a man who begged. fyodor was not a man who worried for others. but it seemed for you, he did. for you, he was desperate. your mere presence took the calculating unfeeling man and transformed him into a pathetic fool. but he couldn’t be mad.

“…okay.” you sighed. this was far more for his sake than yours. but when he looked at you like that. so genuinely desperate for you to get out of bed, if only for a moment. you couldn’t help but pity the man.

at that the bedframe creaked and the mattress shifted as he pushed himself up. slowly he made his way towards you and offered a hand to pull you out of bed. it took a little while of awkward shuffling before you too were on your feet. quietly, you allowed him to lead you out from the prison of a room you’d kept yourself in and to the kitchen.

it’s a terrible thing to be bound to your bed. it’s not a terrible thing to be gently guided to a warm kitchen with your favorite foods. and it’s certainly not a terrible thing to have someone who cares. to have someone like fyodor by your side.

Erron Black

Erron finds it difficult to wake up in the morning due to his hangover, but he must get up, so he did, he has so busy schedule for his “to-do list”

He also has a Kahn to serve, Due to his contract with the Kahn, being his famous gunslinger.

Still, has a terrible headache due to drinking last night, He must work to provide for himself in this realm, he knows that the gold he earns from Kotal isn’t enough for him. So, without his Kahn knowing, He kept being the mercenary he is in the outworld, doing business in the outworld, either Assassinating for gold.

He has to get up for his job’s sake either being Kotal’s enforcer, or a gun for hire in the outworld.

So, he forced himself to get up from bed, a coffee will help to reduce the pain and make him focus on his work.

So far, He has been on a very strict schedule for a long time, And he is still on it.

Mileena

As the best third assassin she is, She has a strict schedule. So she must wake up early to eat her breakfast and then do her daily tasks given to her by her father Shao Kahn. She finds it very tiring to wake up in the morning due to her fatigue and the tiring work she did before she headed to sleep.

After her father's died, Her being a Kahnum for a temporary period, but She still had to wake up and do her chores as a Kahnum of the outworld.

After her throne had been taken over by Kotal, she ran away with her trusted friends and lived in camps away from Z’unkarah.

She still wakes up early, eats her breakfast, then plots against Kotal Kahn. Until the day she met her demise.

Skarlet

Skarlet is not a night owl, she sleeps early, and she gets up early but lazily, she tells herself if she got out of bed and makes herself a cup of coffee, the tiredness will wear off.

After the death of her Emperor, she finds it hard to get up in the morning, she still grieves for him. She always tells herself that he will come back to make Outworld great again, but, that didn’t happen to ensure her safety.

She decided, She must do a very strict and constant sleeping routine, it is for her health and sanity.

Johnny Cage

This guy can’t stay up, for the sake of his career, He has a very strict and tiring schedule, He has a lot of scenes to shoot. Magazines photoshoots too. It’s safe to say that his career depends on him heavily sleeping well. But still, that doesn’t mean he won’t have a hard time waking up in the morning, We all love the bed, and we all have some sort of temporary clinomania, and So does Johnny cage!

So he convinced himself if he makes a cup of coffee and got up from bed, he won’t have to miss his Magazine photoshoots or the movie scenes he have to shoot.

He can’t miss them, never, He has a daughter and he can’t fail her. He learned from his Ex-wife how to be punctual in his career.

Subzero/Kuai Liang

As the Grandmaster he is, he must get up early, not because it is healthy for him, it is just because he is used to it. Of course, he will feel tired and want to sleep more but he always forces himself to get up from bed.

In his younger years, He always woke up early. Resisting the urge to sleep more because he was an assassin, a Lin Kuei Assassin. That means, he has a strict sleeping schedule.

But now, He is the Grandmaster of the clan, he can wake up at any time he wants, but the issue is that he is used to it.

Of course, he will make himself a cup of tea to give him the caffeine he needed to resist the urge to sleep once more!
