First Camp

Summary: Its your first day at Matilda's camp

Warnings: None (I don't think - slight swearing but like maybe 1 word)

A/N: I can't decide whether I like this or not, but decided to post anyway, hope you like it.

As you stepped closer to the door, Steph placed her hands on your shoulders and gave them a reassuring squeeze something, she did quite often, something that worked every time. Kyra, Caitlin, and Sam had gone ahead, so it was just you and Steph, standing on the drive as you prepared yourself to walk into your first camp. “Steph. Y/N. Hi,” you and Steph both turned your heads to where the voice was coming from, it was Tony he was making his way over to you. “Hi Tony,” you said as you shook his hand.

“It’s great to see you Y/N, I am so excited to have you on camp, and I’m sure you will love it and all the girls will love you, we have made some adjustments to hopefully make the ease into camp easier for you” you nodded at what he is saying and smiled, he continued talking but you zoned out slightly, he was more directing his words at Steph anyway so it didn’t really matter. You were brought back to realty when you heard a phone ring, Tony got his phone from his pocket and looked down to it. “I’m sorry girls, I’ve got to take this, I look forward to talking with you more”.

“Bye Tony,” Steph said as he walked off.

You followed Steph as she walked up to the doors, she opened the doors and you walked through, the foyer was large, the back wall of the room had “Till It’s Done” plastered on it, surrounded by photos of past and present Matildas captains and vice captains, you smiled at the sight of Steph’s photo hanging on the wall. You suddenly walked into the back of Steph not realising she had stopped at a table in the middle of the room. “Oh Sorry,” you apologised to Steph after the impact.

“Don’t worry it’s all good, here take these” she handed you a pass which you assumed was your room key and a lanyard, which had your name and a photo of you on it. “Come on let’s go unpack and then we can go meet the girls” you nodded following her, she had some pieces of paper in her hand, you didn’t know what they were, but she didn’t hand any to you, so they must’ve been important captain things. The elevator ride was only a short one, and you were pleased to find that your room wasn’t too far from it. You looked at your door and then at the other doors, yours had two name plaques on it, the rest only had one.

“Um, Steph, why does this room have two names and the rest only have one?” you asked her.

“Well, we thought you wouldn’t want to be alone, and rather than you sleeping in someone’s bed with them every night because you couldn’t sleep, we decided you could share with me” she answered.

“We?” you looked at her curiously.

“Leah,” of course your sister knew you better than anyone, but you were glad that her and Steph had done this for you.

“Thank you,” you said as you gave her a cheesy grin.

“It’s all good.” She said ruffling your hair, which was a mistake as you spent the next 10 minutes redoing it rather than unpacking, but you probably would’ve redone it anyway as you had to get changed into your training kit which messed your hair up even more.

You were just about finished redoing your hair when there was a knock at the door, you turned to Steph who just sighed out “Come in, its open”.

The door opened and in walked Sam “Oh, we have another hair model I see” the girls chuckled at Sam’s joke, which must’ve been an inside joke, as Steph stuck the bits of paper she had previously been carrying up on the wall just near the door, turns out they were just the daily timetable and the camp schedule along with some other pieces of information. After you finished tying your ribbon you looked at the two older girls.

“Good to go?” they asked. “Yep,” you were about to walk out of the door when you remembered you needed something “Hang on,” you said ducking under Steph’s arm, and going back into the room, only a few seconds later you re-emerged.

“Lucky you remembered that because I totally forgot” Steph said surprised you were the one to remember something.

“What is it?” Sam asked.

“It’s my Epi-Pen, I was told I had to give it to Dave at the start of my first training session, I have another one in my bag though, and apparently the medics have some too” you explained. You’ve never actually had to use your Epi-Pens before the only reaction you had was the first one but as it was severe it had been drilled into you since you were little that you must always have them with you and make sure others knew where they were, so now informing others had just become habit. “I’m allergic to bees, and also maybe wasps, but we don’t know that because I’ve never been stung by one” you continued, both girls amused by the fact you were happily talking to Sam.

“Let’s keep it that way, hey” Sam said as you nodded.

You were sat in the dining room between Steph and Sam. Alanna, Macca, Caitlin, and Hayley were also sat at the same table as you. You listened to the conversation the girls were having, every now and then you spoke, but you mostly sat there, listening, and eating. It was all quite peaceful and calm until Steph had a realisation. “Shit did you bring your computer and school stuff?” she blurted out, panic painted all over her face. You had indeed brought your school stuff knowing Leah would kill you if you didn’t, but you decided you wanted to have some fun, so instead of answering her with a yes, you turned to face her, your mouth sat slightly open as you held a mixed facial expression trying to combine deer in the headlights, worried and shocked. Much to your amusement she fell for it, “Fuck, Leah is going to kill me, that was like the number one thing on her list, in big bold letters.”

“She gave you a list?” you said trying to hold it all together, but you could no longer hide it and burst out laughing.

“Oh, you little menace. If you keep that up, you won’t be the favourite anymore”. Steph uttered as she jokingly hit you on the arm.

“Ha! told you I was the favourite Kyra,” you shouted across the room. “Steph you lied” Kyra cried back in response.

“That was a good one,” Sam said as the two of you high fived.

“Wait, you’re still in school?” Macca questioned, you nodded.

“How old are you?” Hayley asked “Um, 16”, your answer was followed by a few gasps and wows.

“Your good, like I knew you were good, we’ve played you in the WSL and stuff, but that means you’re really good, like player of the generation good.” You blushed at Alanna’s comment.

“Yeah, I know, she was on fire last night, had more attempts than me, somehow managed to get pass Millie more times than I got pass her sister. I told her in the airport that if I wasn’t careful, she might take my spot in the starting line-up” Sam replied, as the room goes silent due to Tony’s presences up the font. Once she realised, she quickly shut up and faced Tony.

“Thank you Sam” He said just like every teacher you ever meet had said when someone got caught for talking before he continued “Hello everyone and welcome back to camp, glad to see it is as chaotic as always, I can see some of you have already meet our new face and are allowing her to settle in quite well but I’d officially like to welcome and introduce Y/F/N Williamson to you all, and yes she did choose us over the Lionesses and we are very grateful for that but please no further questions surrounding that. I just wanted to let you know that since we have Y/N joining us and it has been a while since our last one, we will be doing fitness testing tomorrow which I know you all love” everyone groaned except for you who let out a little yay.

“Did I just hear a yay?” one of the training staff stood up as he said it.

“It came from this one,” Sam said as she pointed at you, rolling her eyes.

“Oh, well I already like you.” He replied giving you a kind smile.

Tony continued talking for a little while, once he had finished all the girls went out to train but as you, Sam, Kyra, Caitlin, and Steph had only just arrived this morning you were allowed to relax the whole day, some of the staff came over to introduce themselves to you and you chatted with them before lunch. After lunch you sat in the gym watching the girls train as you chatted some of their ears off, before they all had to leave to have showers, but they quickly re-joined you and the others in the dining room for diner where you continued to talk to all of them. After dinner you sat in the common room hanging out with all the girls and before you knew it you were lying in your bed saying “Good Night” to Steph.

“So did you like your first day?” Steph questioned, as she walked out of the bathroom and climbed into her bed.

“Yes, it was amazing” you said, nodding eagerly with a gigantic grin on your face.

“I’m glad you enjoyed it. Night, see you in the morning” Steph said whilst she turned the lamp off, and no more than five minutes later you were out like a light, still grinning from your amazing day.

It was one last cruel mercy the universe granted. And then Chuuya was beside him. He might have been holding him, but he felt too cold to tell. He might have been talking ­­­— he probably should have been yelling— but Dazai wasn’t listening. There had been a reality where he made it out and joined the Agency. Found something close to happiness. Got something close to better. —what did it matter if Odasaku was gone— But, there was a reality where Chuuya joined instead. It suited him.

Chuuya watched his smile as he backed off the ledge and the world froze around him. Air dead in his lungs, and then a single beat of his heart and he was plummeting over the edge after him. His eyes stung with as the cold air rushing past ripping out tears as he shot like a fiery arrow towards the surface of the earth. He was next to Dazai’s body in an instant —somehow that bastard was still alive— He kneeled beside him in the growing pool of blood, trying to ignore how it seeped into his pants and coated his hands as he rolls the brunette gingerly to face him, head cradled in his lap. Chuuya gathers the broken man closer in his arms, supporting the mangled body to rest against his own as he reaches down with a shaking hand to brush some hair out of his rapidly dimming eyes.

Dazai reaches an equally shaky and bloody hand up to wipe away the only tear he’s seen Chuuya cry. He answers him honestly for once in his life.

He can feel the warmth of Chuuya holding him.

Arthur Morgan

To be honest, this man has no social awareness 60% of the time so at first, he would stare and be very confused, especially if you just met. He has seen your clothing type before, but very scarcely. When you get closer to him, that’s when he feels okay to ask questions. You would think he’s hesitant, but no. This man is blunt and sometimes, down right rude (although he doesn’t mean to be).

After you make sure he knows certain ways he phrases questions are really rude, he goes quiet with a soft “sorry”. He presses his lips together and he begins to rephrase his questions. To your surprise, he’s actually really curious about everything. The reason why you dress the way you do, he’s curious about the different foods you constantly ramble about, etc.

Arthur gets really deep into the religion aspect. He personally isn’t faithful to any religion as life hasn’t been too kind to him. He quietly listens to you on how culture is often tied to religion, and how different the cultural accustoms are in the States vs the ones you grew up with. It silently explains why you react the way you do to certain things, things in which he’s completely used to being normal.

Your culture is realty interesting to him, though. Arthur takes the time to learn a lot; although, he can’t promise he will retain all of the information.

Arthur is confused and blinking at you when you speak your language. “You said what now?”

He isn’t sure what you’re saying unless you translate, and you find it funny when his deep and thick accent makes it difficult for him to correctly form the words in his mouth. Arthur huffs in embarrassment, but he never stops trying; even when you poke fun at him.

Overall, Arthur is curious but ignorant about it with his questions. You try to be patient, but you also don’t let him walk over you and your culture (he doesn’t mean it, he loves you).

John Marston

Similar to Arthur, he’s blunt and a bit rude about it, but I see him being more hesitant.

John takes longer to approach you as he stares for a while. You also have to teach him how to be nice about it and he’s more stubborn, but he quietly does as you ask. After all, you don’t have to teach him anything.

John gets really interested in your clothing and the significance of it within your culture. Sure, he’s seen it before, but not up close. Being able to touch the fabric, look at the designs and watch the way it was meant to be put on and worn? He loves it, even if he doesn’t say it verbally. You can tell he’s fascinated and you indulge for him.

He picks up whenever someone does something that is outside of your cultural accustoms pretty quickly; he learned how to read you, your expressions, your body language. He almost picks up the same bewildered look you do, which when you notice, you think is adorable.

He isn’t too interested in the religion aspect, although he’ll listen anyway. Your talk of different food definitely captures his attention; food is food and he sounds very interested in trying it if he ever gets his hands on it.

John has a similar reaction to you speaking your language, although he just goes “Huh?”

You will not get this man to pronounce it, his face showing embarrassment after the first time. “I’m not cut out for that.”

He tries to understand and it takes a while for him to do so; if someone does something or says something that offends your religion and directly effects you, you best bet he’s on his way to give them a piece of his mind. Cough cough…… Micah.

Charles Smith

Charles is one of the most understanding of your difference in culture, religion and food.

Charles is incredibly interested in every aspect of your culture; from the food, the religion, everything. He likes to compare his own culture he tries to follow and compare it to yours. The differences amaze him and how different people can be.

He actually retains a lot of information about your culture, religion, etc. Charles has a harder job attempting to speak your language, but he eventually gets to the point where he can understand it when you speak it and he can read it, but he has a difficult time with pronunciation. He gets the hang of it eventually, but his eyes search yours for approval.

Charles gets his hands on the ingredients needed for some of the dishes and begs you—with his eyes—to make some for him. You end up doing it and his eyes light up like he saw heaven. Charles absolutely devours every dish and you’ve never seen this man just.. eat so much.

Sadie Adler

She raises her eyebrows at you the first time, immediately intrigued. The others may have seen your culture before, but she has not, and she has questions. Unlike many of the men, she takes her time to phrase her words. Sadie gets borderline embarrassed when some of your answers are blatantly obvious, her loud talking reverting to mumbling.

Sadie does not understand your language at all, even if you help her pronounce it correctly. “Oh, whatever..” She can understand you vaguely, and she did try.

She practices your language in the meantime.

Sadie isn’t too keen on trying the food, but she tries it for you and she loves it!

She isn’t really interested in your religion, but she’ll listen to your rambles about it. Sadie lets you know that she won’t be annoyed by hearing it.

Sadie has a lot of questions for you and doesn’t even remember all of the answers, but she loves hearing you talk.

Sadie gets angry whenever someone disrespects any part of your culture or you, even if it was by accident. She knows it’s important to you, and that’s important to her.

Reprograming my mind to Shift Realties

so basically i have just watched this youtube video and i decided to reprogram my mind because i have never shifted before and i wanna start it. i don't know where should i shift first so it would be great if you suggest me some dr.

anyway here is what i learned from this video :

the reprogramming takes 4 days

day 1: list all your believes and nonbelieves, it could be anything , even very simple things. for example i believe that my hair is brown and i also believe that i can shift easily. however i don't believe in santa and the easter bunny ( i know it sounds funny but you really need to set your mind that you actually CAN shift and you do it very often )

day 2: repeat affirmations , listen to sublimals... don't stress , that's very important

day 3: watch/read success stories of people you trust to further your beliefs and knowing that it's real and you can do it too.

day 4: THIS IS THE DAY YOU SHIFT. are you excited ? prepare as if it's a party you were waiting for so long. lock it down in your head. anything you do, relate it to shifting. drinking water brings you closer to shifting, brushing your teeth, showering, breathing, eating, literally anything you do you'll tell yourself is bringing you closer. do it all day long ,with everything you experience (even if its negative)

14. family invites a rival/enemy/the boss to a Christmas party/vacation

"What is she doing here?" Jaime hisses to Tyrion as they stand in the receiving line at their father's annual Christmas party. It's always an overblown affair: everyone dressed up like they're about to meet the Queen, the abuse of gold-plated decorations, the persistent jazzy Christmas music soundtrack, and dear god the garlands. It's like a forest exploded all through the house.

Normally, Jaime finds the whole thing tedious and boring and he and Tyrion skip out halfway through to go get drunk on Tywin's most expensive liquor that gets trickier to find every year. The old man hasn't outwitted them on hiding places yet, but it was a near thing last year.

Jaime expects this year to be different, though, because there, large as life, is Brienne Tarth hovering at the end of the receiving line, her hulking shoulders hunched, the austere black of whatever dress she's wearing doing her no favors. She looks like she's at a funeral, not a Christmas party.

Which would suit the dour, frustratingly stubborn woman that is his primary rival in the world of high-end real estate.

"I can't see who you mean but based on the venom in your tone, I suspect you mean Ms. Tarth," Tyrion drawls. "She's here because Father invited her."

"What?" Jaime turns on his brother, completely ignoring the councilmember just holding his hand out to be shaken. "Why?"

Tyrion takes the councilman's empty hand and pumps it aggressively, wishing him a Merry Christmas before turning back to Jaime. "Because he wants to hire her," he says like Jaime's being especially obtuse.

Jaime stares at the woman creeping closer in the line. "But she works for the Starks. She hates us."

"She hates you," Tyrion says cheerfully, taking over for Jaime as he ignores two more people in line to glare at Brienne. "The rest of us she's neutral about."

Jaime scoffs. "That's only because she hasn't met you yet."

Tyrion kisses the hand of a woman and Jaime watches her laugh prettily. His brother lifts his brow smugly. "I'm very charming, Jaime. I'll bet you a case of that scotch we had last year that I can get her to be my friend before you."

The music dips for a moment and Jaime hears Brienne saying, "Merry Christmas" to one of the many Lannister Realty employees down the line from him. Her voice is soft and almost sweet--nothing like she sounds whenever he has the misfortune of talking with her.

"I'm not taking that bet. She'd befriend you just to spite me," he grouses. He shakes a few more hands without really seeing any of the people in front of him, too busy keeping an eye on Brienne's progress as she makes her way.

He can tell the moment she notices him in line, because all of the ease and shyness drains out of her and she straightens, lifting her head like a bear that's just spotted a threat.

Good, he thinks, meeting her gaze with a cool smile. Best she know what's waiting for her if she's considering this.

Jaime's flooded with anxious energy waiting for the line to hurry and deposit her before him and then it finally does. Up close, the black dress turns out to be shorter than he'd thought, and her very long legs stick out of it thick trunks. Her arms and shoulders--her best features, in his opinion--are covered, but an alarmingly broad swatch of her pale, freckled chest is bare except for a jeweled, golden sword hanging from a delicate necklace chain. It looks incongruous, the fragility of the links against the ropey tendons of her neck, like a trail of kisses against her skin.

Jaime blinks and jerks back. "Tarth," he greets her, folding his hands behind his back. "Did you get lost on the way to the Stark holiday party? Or are you hoping to actually enjoy expensive food at a work function for once?"

She grimaces, a familiar look on her wide face. "Lannister." She shoves her hand out at him as though a parent is standing behind her and forcing her to do so. He looks down at it, the wide span of her palm, the mountainous knuckles, and marvels again this woman is as successful a realtor as he is when he looks like he does and she looks like this.

Her hand hangs between them for a long moment before he finally takes it, feels the sting as she squeezes more than is polite. He hides a grunt and squeezes back, enjoys the way her eyes narrow and she puts even more strength into it, a vise slowly crushing the bones of his hand. He returns it, the two of them locked in an escalating battle of pain until Tyrion clears his throat.

"If you two are done trying to rip each others hands off, you're holding up the line." He sounds richly amused and Jaime realizes that the line has bunched up behind Brienne and there's a large space between her and the people ahead of her now.

She yanks her hand away and Jaime is oddly delighted by the stripes of red that flood over her cheeks like fingerpaint. He's less delighted by the way his hand is throbbing. He sees her flex her hand at her side and hopes he gave as good as he got, because he's convinced he'll have bruises in the morning.

"Enjoy the party, Tarth," Jaime tells her as she hurriedly shakes Tyrion's hand and mumbles Christmas wishes. "I don't expect you'll be invited back next year."

Her eyes skate back to him, blue and cold as the ice in the middle of a glacier. "That's because I'll be in the receiving line ahead of you."

Tyrion hoots with laughter because the best realtor gets the dubious honor of being here at the end of the line nearest Tywin and the leadership team.

Brienne's already hurried too far to make a comeback worth it, or even audible, and Jaime swears he won't have a single drink tonight until he's driven Brienne Tarth from the grounds, or at least from his father's perspective employment.

I guess I can talk about why Luz getting a palisman was always a writing choice I wasn't particularly fond of:

So here's the thing: We all know Luz chose to stay on TBI's so she could live out the fantasy she always wanted. We know she bases her expectations for TBI's around her favorite book series: The Good Witch Azura. One of the expectations Luz has is that she wants to receive a witches staff like Azura's.

The first episode set-ups up TOH to be a story where Luz needs to learn to separate fantasy from reality. Since Luz bases her perfect fantasy around The Good Witch Azura book you are going to think "Okay so, whatever happens in that book isn't going play out in the show". The Boiling Isles itself already shatters Luz's idea of what a fantasy world should be - it's a dangerous and miserable place with plagues for weather and people who arent afraid to harm a child to get what they want.

Eda and King also subvert Luz's expectations for a mentor figure and a cute "animal" companion. Eda is a con-artist who sells literal trash for a living and has zero interest in teaching Luz magic. King doesn't give a shit about Luz outside of how he can use her to stoke the fires of his own ego. Even though neither of them are particularly nice to Luz, there is enough humanity in them to where they're still likeable characters. Great perfect.

Moving onto Amity: Amity also subverts these expectations in her introduction. While we dont know much about Hecate we do know she is a withdrawn character who is also Azura's rival. Amity's introduction presents her as someone who ISN'T withdrawn - she is a girl who is completely off kilter. She is this domineering go-getter who doesn't take kindly to people getting in the way of her top student status. She'll even go so far as to dissect Luz just so that she wouldnt "lose" to Willow. Amazing, wonderful.

So when you look at how Eda, King, and Amity start off you might think "These characters are going to play a role in Luz's character arc because they're associated with Luz's fantasy of being like Azura".

... But as time goes on you can see the show switching from "Luz needs to learn to separate fantasy from realty so she will not be getting the fantasy she wants from TBI's" to "Luz is going to get the fantasy she wants from TBI's"

By the time Hunting Palismen rolls around this switch is pretty much set in stone.

Despite palistrom wood being highly covetous resource because it's over harvested Luz is given palistrom wood with little effort on her end. She does not earn it the hard way like she said she was going to do in WBW. It's literally plopped right onto her lap. In my personal opinion Luz shouldn't be given a staff AT ALL. Not so much because Luz, a human who does not plan on staying in TBI's, shouldn't be given such a valuable resource over the people of the isles - she shouldn't be given a staff simply because it brings her closer to Azura's image. An image that Luz needs to separate herself from in order to grow as a person.

Of course, the show completely shits the bed with Luz's character arc. And in the process, Luz has become this inescapable black hole that sucks the potential away from the other characters. But this is a conversation for another time.

You couldn’t hide the relief for such fact. It was fresh start in a new place to live a life away from your mother’s ever constant need to control every aspect of your life.

“The University has the best Business College in the region, I can’t miss out on it.” It was true that the university you’re now in has the best Business from your location, but you weren’t gonna tell your mother what you realty took as a degree.

Greek History. Specifically anything and everything that has to do with the numerous of Gods and Goddesses that shaped them. Your love for the array of Mythology was something you wanted to pursue further and if and only if you have the degree and accreditation that comes with it, can you finally escape from your mother and every single thing she has against you holding you back.

Your mother’s infamous lecture was cut short by the door opening and the sight of your new roommate—rather, roommates. Wanda and Pietro Maximoff, whom you had met while getting your footing in the university when you inquired. An accomplice that helped in convincing your mother to have you finally be in the school and live in a Dorm with them both. You owed them by cooking food—but it was the least you could do for them both with what they had to accomplish for your freedom.

“You’re finally here!” Wanda practically squealed shoving the box she held onto her twin brother’s hold before coming to embrace you. A smile on her face to which was far too contagious not to join. She pulled away to come face to face with your mother. “Mrs. Y/L/N, we promise to make sure Y/N is safe at all cost.”

Trust Wanda and her charms as she begins to explain how the Dorms were the safest in the University as well as the constant activities that would keep you busy throughout your stay. You were left to greet Pietro with a wink as you helped him out with the last of their own boxes for their move.

All throughout, you had listened to how your own mother insisted that Wanda should ensure her about your whereabouts—but the fact that you were also to do such a task seemed more tiring than it needs to be. But for this one last moment, you agreed to every single demands she might have if it meant that she will leave the apartment to finally seal your freedom away from her.

Eventually with the twins tag teaming against your mother, she had finally relented, asking for you to walk her out of the door. You tried to keep your steps less preppy as the excitement was bubbling. This was finally it.

“You are to call me the first moment things aren’t going as planned.” Your mother demanded to which you nodded in reassurance, having nothing else to say that you haven’t already said to her since you’ve decided to study in this University and during her time in the apartment. “If I hear anything out of the ordinary, you will come home and I will see it personally that you are chained to the bedroom if it means I get to see you safe.”

“Mom. Don’t you think that’s too much?” You snort, already used to this side of her, often times fearing that there might just be a possibility of her doing exactly what she says she would if you weren’t careful.

But as her hand had grasped onto your jaws and had you looking up at her, you know just how serious she was in the moment.

“You are my daughter before you can be anything else.” Her words brought a shiver down your spine. It was so unlike her to do. “And all I want is to make sure you are safe and sound especially now that I’m far away from you.”

“I promise to keep safe.”

“No boys and no parties, Y/N.”

“I promise.”

Finally releasing her tight hold, the softness of her eyes was a shift that you were so prepared for. It was a whiplashed that genuinely disturbed you in the moment, but you held your tongue knowing it would do no one any good.

“Call me if you need anything, Darling. I love you.”

“I love you too, Mom.”

As you closed the door behind your mother, ensuring it was locked, you peaked through the hole to watch your mother slowly disappear and it was only then did you realize the coast was clear. Squealing to yourself and jumping as the excitement of this new found freedom was something you would have never thought you could have for yourself.

“I think this calls for a celebration.” It was Wanda that broke you from your little happy dance as you made your way back to the living room. “I’ll order pizza then we can all get settled in dealing with the boxes.”

Nodding in agreement all three of you had made a good wave in organizing all of your boxes, with Pietro being the one to do most of the talking, sometimes asking you questions of your life in the farm with your mother and more often annoying his sister in any shape or form that he could.

“And that’s the pizza, I’ll go and get it.” Pietro stood moving even before you could insist on getting it and even paying for it.

“Is he always this—energetic?” You asked turning your attention to Wanda that seemed all too familiar with her twin brother’s antics.

“You should see him in the morning without his coffee, you’d think he’s two different persons.” She smirked before the both of you were left in a momentary silence. “It’s good to have you here with us, Y/N. You seemed to look like you need company—other than your mother, no offence.”

“None taken.” You smiled knowing just how right she was in her words.

All your life, all you could remember was being glued to your mother’s side. Helping her out in the fields and helping with tending to the animals. It was downright suffocating at times when you couldn’t even have your own personal space at times when it comes to her. This moment, this four or more so years was the only opportunity you think you had of freedom and you would try to make the most out of it.

Whatever it may take.

i think the steps back she has taken from interacting with fans on a more direct level (to protect her own piece of mind from all the outside noise that can arise) in addition to the massive increase in the number of people who listen to her music, fight for her tour tickets, and call themselves her fans…has sort of backfired in leading to some fans who felt closer to her in earlier years to now feel idk less connected? less personal? less…idk, but i feel like there’s a combination of things that have led to me being less interested in taylor as a person this last year and i’m sad about that because i used to feel so much closer to her even if the realty wasn’t that. does this make sense?

Lucien sighed as he ran his hand through his hair, the scent of death and decay hung heavy in the air as he stood within the room. The temples of the Under King, where many lay waiting to be claimed – those unluckily not were often deemed to be cursed not to make it to the next realm. He was out of place among the various mourners who came, the wails just beyond the curtain that separated him from the ones that were deemed lesser. In whose eyes he never knew, but he did not question the particles of the temple.

For months he had been visiting these temples, for months he had been leaving Autumn searching. His autumn tunic stood out against the grey and white, his russet eyes filled with the concern and fear he had hidden for months. His spy network had filtered to him information, news had reached him. Rumours had circled of an Assassins’ Guils which were taken out, whispers came of the deaths. He had kept the secret, if only to save their mother’s heart. He swallowed hard.

He remembered those days, back before life had taken hold and choices were made. She had found a father-figure who took her under his wind, she had found somewhere to bury the pain and hurt she had hidden all those years. She smiled at him, but Lucien knew damn well that Calaena was only showing him the mask. His jaw tightened. The flicker of flames licked at his fingers, yearning to reach out and erase what was before him.

No, not yet. He didn’t know. He reached for the cover, yanking it away. The mutilated body that laid upon the slab wasn’t her, he knew it was hard to tell by those who didn’t know her, but he could tell. The dark hair, the eyes were not her’s. If this being had carried her ring though, then he knew who it was. The flash of the dark haired male who had hung out with her came to mind, one of her fellow assassins.

Sam. She had been sweet on him, but when she had turned 19 she had confirmed that there had been no mating song. The last time he had seen them she had promised him she’d be back before their parents celebration ball for their anniversary, that had been five months ago and no one had heard from her since. Sam had lingered in the background, the pair of them had left together.

Lucien picked up the ring and held it tightly in his hand. His mother had often asked him if he had heard from his sister, Zefera worried for her youngest. He had no heart to tell her what he had heard, he had lied and said he had business when he left. Maybe it was the best, for now he had no news except for his sister was missing. His Twin Flame.

“Do with him as you see fit, he is not my concern.” He retorted before he turned and left. He only paused when he moved through the entrance, a figure stood off from the side. He supposed he wasn’t surprised, there were some who listened to his spy networks. “You followed me…why?”

likes to flirt, especially with women who looks like they could (and would) kick his ass. he has the tendency to go for women who’s out of his league and would crush him with the bottom of their shoe without hesitation. would LOVE to be a malewife. 

can’t be subtle to save his life. the worst liar ever. would genuinely cry if he ever has to punch someone. forgives easily and is a very optimistic person overall. he could be trapped in the middle of the ocean a la life of pi and he’d still smile at the pretty sunrise.

my review:

The Donut Trap was one of my favorite releases of 2021, so I was unbelievably excited for Julie Tieu’s next book! After reading the summary for it, I was even more excited for it, and I loved it. Circling Back to You was a hot romance outside of the office that also explored complex family dynamics.

Matt Escanilla is up for a big promotion that’ll allow him to move to L.A. to be closer to his family, like he’s always wanted—but only if he makes this huge sale. Cadence Lim is ready to move on from their company but is unsure of her next steps; she’s roped into helping Matt when the client mistakenly dials her extension, and he takes a liking to her. They end up taking a business trip to L.A. that also coincides with both of their plans to visit family, and along the way, they must decide whether or not to give into the intense attraction that’s been lingering between them for years.

Not to compare them, but this book was a bit tonally different from The Donut Trap. For one thing, I would say Circling Back to You is more of a romance in the way you expect, especially with both Matt’s and Cadence’s points-of-view. Also, there were a lot steamier scenes; while the sex scene in The Donut Trap was closed-door/fadeaway, that’s not the case in this book.

From Co-workers to Lovers (Keith Lawson x Reader)

You had just recently gotten a job in Eastside Realty as an accountant. It’s a seasonal job that will last a few months in the middle of the year. They transferred you there to gain experience in a different job field. You’ve worked at a few different places before then, but you aren’t sure what the next step will be when the short-term position ends in the early fall.

Years of studying finally paid off when you received your degree and passed your Certified Public Accountant exam at the first try. You explored different types of careers related to the accounting field, and decided on an accountant position because they don’t require much social interaction.

After settling into your office and organizing your stuff on your desk, you immediately got to work.

You were in your element, preparing your financial statements when a voice appeared out of nowhere.

“Hey there, new accountant.”

Your head lifting up to the source of the voice, a smiling, handsome form of your new co-worker leaning on the doorway with his arms crossed.

“Oh, um, h-hello,” you stuttered, your face heating up as he walked closer to you.

He was 6’5 with long brown hair with blue eyes, sporting a nice black suit with a paisley tie. He has the figure of someone that plays football during his free time.

“I’m Keith Lawson,” he extended his hand out. You returned it with a soft grip and shook his hand, completely flustered by this guy.

For a split second, you forgot your name, but you managed to recollect.

“I-I’m Y/N,” you answered nervously. “Um, i-it’s nice to meet you.”

You two chattered for a bit, before he had to return to his office, which was two doors down. You went back to your work, your stomach in knots as you twirled your hair for some movement.

There’s something about this guy that made your thoughts drawn to him. You shook your head to avoid the distraction for at least a few more hours to get all your work done.

Over the course of the next few weeks, you two naturally gravitated towards each other. You ate lunch together every day and he’d walk you to your car after work. You also never had an awkward silence. Your feelings towards him were growing gradually stronger, but you weren’t sure if he even shared the same sentiment. You can only hope for now.

One day, you meet up with your friend Bonnie at a restaurant not far from the estate building. You confide in her about your infatuation with your co-worker, Keith.

“Bonnie!” You smiled as you hugged your friend.

“It’s so good to see you,” She smiled as you both sat down at a tiny table in the middle of the busy restaurant.

“Y/N, what have you been up to? We have so much catching up to do.”

“I know, right?” You smile, with a slight wink.

You see a server making their way across the crowded dining room and wave them over. “Good evening, ladies. My name is Peter and I’ll be your server tonight. What can I get for you?”

You both placed your orders, with Peter scribbling it in, before walking off. You turned to Bonnie with a big smile on your face.

“So, what’s new?” Bonnie raised her eyebrows.

“You know how I got that job at real estate as an accountant?” Bonnie nodded. “While I was working, this guy came into my office. He’s so good-looking. I was so nervous I almost forgot my name.”

Bonnie laughed. “What’s his name?”

“Keith, Keith Lawson,” you replied. Bonnie sat up a bit, her expression changing into a surprise.

“He sounds familiar…” Bonnie mumbled, as she merely stared at one spot on the table as she tried to recall the name.

“You know him?” You asked curiously, to which the design engineer nodded.

“Yes, he has been RC's friend since childhood. According to him, he’s like a protector. He’ll save you for any trouble.” That made your chest flutter. You can only imagine him being there for you whenever an unpleasant situation arose.

You two chatted for the next couple hours as you sip on your beverage, talking about Keith, work, personal life and laughing at Michael’s occasional shenanigans.

The following week, you were preparing a balance sheet when Keith walked in your office, with a grin on his face. You looked up, content that he appeared in your presence. You had a long day dealing with financial issues and you are looking forward to going home. Or better yet, spend some time with the tall realtor to take your mind off the troubles.

“Oh, h-hey, Keith,” you stammered. You are usually a shy person, except around your closest friends when you’re a little more social.

“I had been thinking, and I was wondering if you’d like to go out with me this Friday night,” Keith suggested. You blushed and you nodded your head meekly.

Keith gave his toothy smile and said. “Great, then it’s a date.”

Your brain malfunctioned and you felt your face heats up. You were speechless, but all you knew is that you want to be on a date with Keith Lawson.

By the end of your temporary job period, you and Keith had established a relationship, but hadn’t gone further than kissing.
