Pyramids Are a Dramatic Backdrop for a Mirrored Orb Inspired by Ancient Egypt

The Giza pyramids are the dramatic backdrop for a new installation by anonymous Spanish artist SpY. Inspired by Egyptian symbolism and mathematics, the piece is part of the exhibition Forever is Now II. Organized by Culturvator/Art D’Égypte, the exhibition asks artists around the world to take inspiration from Egypt's rich cultural history. In SpY's case, he looked at the logical and spiritual world of Ancient Egypt to put together his piece, ORB.

The architecture of these chhatris is a blend of Paliwal, Mughal, and Rajput styles of architecture. Each cenotaph contains inscribed tablets with names of the King and Queen. Some of the cenotaphs have a statue of the King on a horse along with his queen standing nearby. The size of the chhatri varies according to the status of the person.

TAXI NO. 3936! This picture was taken in Hong Kong. I was out with my family and my camera was in my hand. My family members were all ahead of me and I was walking behind them looking at the shops, streets and everything around me when I saw this taxi coming my way. I wanted to capture a picture of a local taxi since I had arrived here and this moment was perfect. The taxi had stopped at the red light and luckily when it started moving it turned left. This was the best moment for me to get a picture of a local taxi with a spectacular frame and I took it. Time was short but I captured this shot and I felt relieved. The Nongsawlia Presbyterian Church is the first established Christian church in Meghalaya, long back in the year 1846. The first church building was built upon a hillock of the present Cemetery by The Presbyterian Church of Wales who had sent Rev. Thomas Jones-I and his young wife Anne. Upon landing, the Rev. devoted his time listening attentively the pronunciation of the Khasi words and learnt the language. One British official had advised Jones as "go back home Jones; you may as well try to instruct the monkeys on that tree than to attempt to teach these people" It is said that only in 7/8 months he could converse with people and preached the Gospel. He also them Roman alphabets, translated a Welsh book into khasi and uplifted their way of life. Lush green shot of Nako lake from the cold deserts of India! Nako lake is a high altitude lake surrounded by willow trees, located in Nako village of Kinnaur valley with the view to the srikhand range of himalayas.
